6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

Hmm, I don't know about special or different, but it does go further into the food-related eccentricities that my version of Angel has (i.e. there will be more in this unofficial series as I figure them out). They are good in the kitchen, they just don't have the same confidence that David has.

It started as just as an idea of "haha, David is cringing at Angel's terrible knife skills" but then it turned into an introspective on how David really sees Angel and how much he appreciates them, even if he can't make himself say the words just yet.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

The way Angel cuts the mango is exactly how I do it 😅, and I thought it'd be funny to imagine how (early-)David would react to their... unrefined technique and balance his penchant for things to be done "right" and his desire to work on the relationship between him and Angel.

5 - The hardest part was actually figuring out, like, how to handle some sort of kidnapping situation and how Gabriel would take charge, given he's not really the authority type, and figuring out the best way for a large group of characters to split up and quite literally hunt down the missing couple XD

11 - I liked the reveal best, tbh. Like, getting to show the fire and the moment of the deep character connections that spurred it on. My favorite part of writing is always character dynamics and interactions, and just writing Angel being a protective parent and defending the kids, not just her own, was fun. I'm a big fan of a Mama Wolf (hence the couple collab audios Frenchie and I have done, albeit for different characters) and letting Angel have a turn to finally be the protector was really, really satisfying :-D

Random question (in a positive and curious way): What does the inside of your brain look like?

The Meme sector of my brain wanted me to find one of those little "wood beads on various bent metal wire rails" toys from a doctor's office waiting room

But the real answer is that the inside of my brain is almost always just. Words. Everywhere. All the time. It's almost all words. Like, for how vivid my visual imagination is (and boy oh boy is it vivid holy crap), most of my brain is words. I'm one of those people who thinks in words more than images or concepts probably because I grew up reading so much that when "this is what the character is thining [character] thought" was a thing in books, my brain took that literally and I just. Thought. That way.

The very vivid visual imagination I mentioned looks like those videos set to the "Shooting Stars" meme song with warping outer space imagery Or maybe that's how it functions... not necessarily how it looks... idk

You know what I've always wanted to do? A love triangle where the twist is that the story is told from the point of view of the person who's currently "losing" the love triangle. This idea came to me in one of my D&D campaigns, where my player very unexpectedly managed to charm and delight an NPC that the dungeon master already had an NPC love interest for. Incidentally this love interest was my rival, and had a huge head start on me.

The results were immensely entertaining, with my player character going through a whole gauntlet of insecurities that were at times comedic and at others dramatic. The dynamic of the imbalanced love triangle from the POV of the obvious underdog was a blast, and it wasn't even planned in the original roadmap of the game. I would so love to have that play out in an audio.

Seconded. My little tiny audience is, according to my analytics, basically entirely adults. I have a 0.0% "under 18" portion and I don't think I ever have had the 13-17 section have a number in it.

I’m not sure who needs to hear this but if you don’t realize that a good chunk of the fandom is preteen/teen girls then you are blind or in denial. It’s basically wattpad audiobooks, did you not expect teens here that’s so crazy. People that age eat up any kind of romance love story and that’s what a lot of those are. And for the more story based ones that aren’t just entirely romance, it’s such a creative thing that of course it attracts younger people some times. Obviously if their content says minors dni then respect that. But if it doesn’t, leave the fans alone

Hey gambinos I need some feedback. So I've been incubating a story for over a year now and I haven't fully committed to because I'm not sure it would be possible as an audio roleplay. In short, my issue is that the narrative relies HEAVILY on an unspoken internal conflict that could only be depicted by a description of the character's internal monologue, or very subtle visual cues. Two things that can't exist for an audio roleplay listener. It's also not really about the development of a romance, but focuses primarily on the decline of a lifelong friendship and the protagonist's descent into evil ambition.

I threw around the idea of saying "fuck it" and writing a novel, but I'm not sure that's the move. I have never written a novel in my life and I'd have to learn as I go, and I don't want to waste one of my most compelling ideas on a literary mulligan. I think I have a solution though!

This would be very experimental, but I was throwing around the idea of casting a narrator for the parts that involve internal monologue, time skips, and actions too subtle to be conveyed by sound. Think of something in the style of Baldur's Gate, where most of the story is told through actions and dialogue, with the narrator appearing from time to time to describe the player's thoughts and feelings.

I'll probably yap a little more about this project as it goes on. It doesn't have a title yet but I'm very excited by the idea and I dont want to let this one die on the vine.
