if we do a lil AU-ing…

Jake drops his kit Tiny off with his old friend Talltail, now Tallstar, after the kit was found injured by his father. The kit became Rimekit, and was adopted by Tallstar. Rimeheart was close friends with Tallstar’s student Morningpaw.

One day, Rimeheart found a young cat on the border - Rusty. He had come to join Windclan, after a strange series of dreams. Firepaw was mentored by Hopfoot, and Morningflower fell for the grown Fireface. Unfortunately Shadowclan drove them out, but a ray of sunshine was born - Gorsekit. Sandstorm and Graystripe brought the clan back, and eventually the Tigerstar Incident happened…except Fireface and Morningflower take one of Tigerstar’s lives to save their son. Tigerstar is killed by his former datefriend/minion Nightwhisper after Tigerstar tries to kill a kit.

The pair have Finch and Dawn later, and Tallstar treats them as grandkits. Rimeheart succeeds Tallstar in the new territory. Dawnpool is a warrior who is mates with Crowfeather. Gorsestalk is deputy.

My favorite Warriors scene is the one in The Darkest Hour where Morningflower is kicking ass while yelling her dead sons name and Firestar is just like “damn okay she’s got this”

Does Gorsepaw still die in the AU? Or does someone else die in his place?

I had a whole thing about what I imagine Spottedstar would do in that situation and just realized at the end when I sentenced him to death that, Gorsepaw's death was personal.

Like, that was straight up a death to rile Firestar up, but Spottedstar is not Tigerstar.

The conflict she has is not with Fireheart necessarely, it's with Thunderclan as a whole (which is why I didn't answer this ask until I had her exile written), so she wouldn't kill someone just to upset Firestar, if anything she would've killed someone for speaking out of line to her.

And I imagine, genuinely, that Gorsepaw would, but I also think, would Spottedstar kill an apprentice just like that? No, apprentice need to learn, and clearly his mentor is doing a poor of job of teaching.
