The water rippled in the wind. Clouds Covering the moon, allowing the near by street lamp to cast light upon the ponds reflective surface. You sit alone on a bench, the cold wind biting into your skin, your mind racing with thoughts and feelings. You had hoped the night air would calm your thoughts and allow you to breathe easy again. You were wrong. Across the pond, another bench sat still covered in shadows cast from the lamp. As you observed Somthing swim across the pond your eyes drew to the bench, you realize someone mone is there. Possible doing the same as you but instead of being in the light they chose the dark. You quickly look away as to not stare. You let your gaze stay on the bubbling of the fountain in the pond. After a few minutes you start to feel an uneasy feeling sneak its way into your mind. Someone’s watching you. The wind picks up whipping your hair around causing you to look up, brushing it out of your face. That’s when you noticed the person across the pond is now standing, staring right at you.

Anxiety grips your heart as you get up and leave, walking down the dimly light street. Maybe they just happened to look up. Your pace quickens. You know there’s a park with people near-bye, quickly you make your way on that directions. You look back having managed to put a good distance between you and the bench’s. Where you just were sitting a person stands, looking as if they were facing the direction you are in. Your pulse quickens as you break into a jog. The safety of a group is close only a few steps away.

Imagine you and Cleo clothes shopping for Deuce

Walking along the length of the rack, your fingers brushed through the shirts as you tried to find one that caught your eye. When one seemed promising, you pulled it out slightly, trying to get a better look at the design. Most of the shirts ended up put back on the rack as you shook your head in disapproval once you saw the whole thing. With a sigh, you moved onto a new rack and started the cycle of rejection once more.

“Oh?” You mused aloud, pulling out a rich green Furberry cotton shirt. Giving it a once over, you took note of the small embroidered emblem at the center of the shirt. Approving at the design, you raised a hand to the sleeve and felt the fabric, admiring the soft texture underneath your fingertips. “It’s nice.” One approval down.

“Cleo! Deuce!” Taking the shirt and grabbing another two in the same style but a different color, you walked to the end of the row as you looked for your partners through the store.

Spotting a hand waving in the air, you smiled as you heard Deuce call out to you. “We’re over here, babe.”

Walking over to the waving hand, you spotted your boyfriend’s green snake-hawk first before the sound of Cleo’s golden bangles clinking together reached your ear. The two were in the pants section of the store, Cleo bent down slightly as she glanced over the pants while Deuce stood beside her, his arms full of clothes.

When you reached your partners, you held up the shirts you found for the two to see. “Cleo, look at these shirts I found.”

Straightening up, Cleo’s eyes move away from the pants and over to you. “Oh my Ra,” A smile breaks out on her face as she makes her way to you. She takes the green shirt from your hand to get a closer look, nodding as she approves of the front before turning over to look at the back. “This shirt is absolutely fangtastic! And I found the perfect pants to go with it!”

She motions for Deuce to come closer and looks through the pile of clothes in his grasps before pulling out the one she was looking for. “Put those clothes down for a bit, Deuce-y.” The gorgon does as he’s told, dropping the pile onto the table beside him. Giving the shirt and pants to Deuce, she says, “Hold them against yourself. We need to see how they look like on you.”

Standing beside Cleo, the two of you take a few steps back as Deuce holds up the shirt and pants to his body. ”It looks so creeperific together!” Cleo says, giving both of your boyfriend a once-over.

“If we rolled up the sleeves up to his elbow, it would look even better.”

Cleo’s eyes brighten at your suggestion, pressing a kiss to your cheek. “Spooktacular taste!” Moving over to Deuce, she does the same to him before taking your hand and beginning to lead the way. “Come on, Deuce. We have to get you to the dressing room so you could try the clothes out. Maybe we can find some shoes to tie the outfit together,” She muses, tapping a finger to her chin.

Not to be a hater (again) but I’ve just realized that a lot of tropes used to make Medusa a tragic feminist figure accidentally circle back to being misogynistic, for example:

- Medusa being a priestess of Athena not only was this never stated by any Ancient Greek literature or even by Ovid (it’s a modernish invention) but Ovid straight up contradicts it, he says that she had many suitors meaning she was eligible to be married and was never a virgin priestess. It low key falls into the trap of making a victim of sexual violence as pure, innocent and unsexual as possible, which having suitors just wouldn’t allow, so she is made into a priestess.

- Athena was actually helping her bc girl power yeah… no. Women don’t always support women, trying whitewash what Minerva/Athena did isn’t feminist, especially if you turn around and villainize Perseus when Athena literally helped him kill Medusa.

- Medusa’s design being beautiful I’ve talked about this before but it’s really gross how a lot of Medusa designs that use her tragic backstory also really sexualize and prettify her, which goes against the whole point of challenging your audience to sympathize with a monster, bc you won’t challenge your audience if you ask them to sympathize with a pretty lady with snake makeup and hair at all. It’s also pretty unfair how a male monsters in mythology are allowed to stay monstrous and ugly while Medusa needs to remain beautiful even after Athena “cursed” her.

- Medusa being isolated which is especially frustrating to me bc she has her sisters who loved her deeply and mourned her death, but it also overshadows Danae’s story, who was actually forcibly isolated by those in power (even if you go with the version where she was locked up with her nurse she still couldn’t interact with her friends and family) and victim blamed and used by powerful men. Adding unnecessary tragedy and sexual assault to an already tragic story is something writers still do now unfortunately.

Btw you can still make sympathetic portrayals of Medusa, just don’t fall into any of these pls

So.... What would happen if SOMEONE decided to rewrite Freaky Fusion but eliminated the fusions, left the plot of the hybrids and the time travel plot?

The fic would begin by introducing the hybrids and the students' reaction to them. Cleo and (I think it was her?) Draculaura would give the same comments as in the movie. But here the hybrids already established in the series would not be ignored. Lagoona would talk about how she herself is a hybrid. What's more, we could even add that she is the fruit of a freshwater Nymph and a sea monster.(I just made this up while writing. I have no idea if it's canon or not but I like it.) Your intervention in the conversation could leave the atmosphere a little tense. Frankie tries to lighten the mood by insisting her friends go to class.

In another part of the school, Deuce and Jackson are in the former's locker talking about the same topic. Or rather, Deuce is nervous and frustrated by how everyone is reacting to the hybrids. The rest of the class passes without pain or glory. Only at the end does Rotter remind his students that in the last period of school they have to present their family tree work. This sends him into a spiral of panic and he ends up escaping the scene. It ends somewhere in the school, near the indoor pool. That's where Lagoona finds him. Deuce realizes that she is not alone. She is accompanied by Sirena von Boo and Neighthan Rot. When he asks about them, Lagoona tells him that she became friends with Sirena in their previous class. They saw him run out of the hallway and read the blog. Lagoona and Sirena went to look for him, they ran into Neightan and he joined the search. (mainly because Avea and Bonita were still in class)

This is where I cut the explanatory text and give the concise points of this particular plot:

The plot itself has the hybrids talking about feelings and experiences. Trying to help each other in all this sea of ​​rumors and staring. Mainly by comforting Deuce and letting him open up to them.

There would be some scene with Draculaura and Clawd talking about their relationship. The topic of vampire biology would be touched upon a little. How they age and mature slower than other deadly monsters.

I would also have Deuce and Cleo talking about this matter.

Also the reaction of the students, encouraged in a negative way by Toralei, towards Deuce and his "deception".

After watching the teacher leave the classroom, Frankie lies down on his table and writhes in his misery. Robecca and Ghoulia who were by her side comfort her and ask her what's wrong. They know that their great-grandfather is the one who started the whole Hyde thing but they don't know anything else. Not even what year his grandfather was born or how his great-grandfather Henry Jekyll and his great-grandmother met. It all seems like a big secret that no one should know about.

As he listens to them complain, Robecca has an idea. His father, before he disappeared, was a lover of science in general. He lived many years collecting information, meeting other scientists and doing his own experiments. She suggests they look for something in her father's workshop. Hopefully, they can find something regarding the Stein or Jekyll family. (Robecca apologizes to Billy for not being able to find a solution to his problem but he rejects her. He doesn't care much) Ghoulia was going to say something regarding work but after watching Deuce and Cleo leave the room, she decided that it was easier to help this group with their homework.

This is how Robecca, Frankie, Ghoulia, Billy and Jackson go to the Hexiciah Steam workshop.

While there, they don't find much. At least until Billy stumbles upon plans for a time machine. This draws the attention of the rest. Robecca takes a look at the plans and searches the workshop if there is something similar there. And, indeed, it was a large machine that was in the middle of the room. As they examine the machine, Billy comments that it would be great to test if the thing works and use it to do his homework. That makes them pause and contemplate the idea. Ghoulia and Jackson note that there is a very specific way these bracelets work but decide to find out later. Since this was just a round trip to see if the machine worked in the first place. So with everything prepared Robecca, Frankie, Jackson and Billy get ready for the test trip. Ghoulia gives them the go-ahead and turns on the machine. The quartet enters the machine and goes to a year not too distant, just to try it out. More specifically 1950's New Salem.

In fact, the machine works! After watching a bit, the four try to go back to their time to tell the zombie. But can not. No matter how hard they try, the bracelets don't send them back to their time. In reality, it sends them randomly to other places and times. They panic a little (A LOT).

Currently, Ghoulia is worse. The disused machine was broken enough that it had imperfections that none of them noticed. So now the machine was causing fluctuations in time itself. Making time go slower or faster randomly. This is also causing beasts and animals from different places and times to appear today. Not to mention that, for some reason, his friends can't come back. So it's up to Ghoulia Yelps to fix the time machine, prevent the timeline from being destroyed, send the beasts and animals where they belong, and bring his friends back. It's... A pretty normal Monday, if Ghoulia is allowed to comment.

So this subplot has:

Jackson, Robecca, Billy and Frankie traveling through time. Uncovering family secrets and finding clues to the whereabouts of Hexiciah Steam.

To them trying to survive times that they only read about in books, saw in movies or paintings.

And Ghoulia saving the day behind the scenes.

Yes... A standard Monday.

Summary: Soul is sentenced to death but is visited by Maka, a head strong woman from a clan of executioners who offers him the chance to be pardoned.

He and other death row convicts are sent to the lost island to obtain BREW and bring it back to the shogun. In order to prevent escape, each convict is supervised by an executioner from Lord Death’s clan.

Rating/Warnings: M (mild violence, swearing, minor character death)

Okay, Medusa x Blind person has been happening for aeons at this point, but I’d be so fucking down for it if Perseus and Tiresias joined up to form a squad. Stick with me on this.

Perseus goes to kill Medusa to save his mum from King Polydectes. He’s not just doing murder for the sake of murder. You know who’d be super down to turn an abusive king into stone? The gorgon who got massively fucked over by everyone. Team-up time.

I have less justification for Tiresias I mostly just think it’d be really funny. He shows up, blind as fuck and spouting prophecies, as a sort of weird uncle archetype and joins the gang in overthrowing the monarchy for a bit of a laugh. Plus, he could sympathise with Medusa because the gods also massively screwed him over.

Perseus would be quite young (maybe like 16-19), I think Medusa and the unnamed blind person would be like, 20s-30s, and Tiresias would be 50-60 (an old ass man).

I’m not even a Greek mythology person I just like silly shit. I want to see Medusa get her revenge, I want to see her saving a woman from her same fate. I want to see Tiresias stumbling into the palace like a drunk jester but the guards are too scared to approach him because he has eldritch vibes. I want to see Perseus and his mum getting their happy ending, and that sets off the realisation in Medusa that she can overcome the odds and be happy too.

Tell me they wouldn’t be an epic squad.
