The water rippled in the wind. Clouds Covering the moon, allowing the near by street lamp to cast light upon the ponds reflective surface. You sit alone on a bench, the cold wind biting into your skin, your mind racing with thoughts and feelings. You had hoped the night air would calm your thoughts and allow you to breathe easy again. You were wrong. Across the pond, another bench sat still covered in shadows cast from the lamp. As you observed Somthing swim across the pond your eyes drew to the bench, you realize someone mone is there. Possible doing the same as you but instead of being in the light they chose the dark. You quickly look away as to not stare. You let your gaze stay on the bubbling of the fountain in the pond. After a few minutes you start to feel an uneasy feeling sneak its way into your mind. Someone’s watching you. The wind picks up whipping your hair around causing you to look up, brushing it out of your face. That’s when you noticed the person across the pond is now standing, staring right at you.

Anxiety grips your heart as you get up and leave, walking down the dimly light street. Maybe they just happened to look up. Your pace quickens. You know there’s a park with people near-bye, quickly you make your way on that directions. You look back having managed to put a good distance between you and the bench’s. Where you just were sitting a person stands, looking as if they were facing the direction you are in. Your pulse quickens as you break into a jog. The safety of a group is close only a few steps away.

A random character design before I take my daily nap.

Out of all the mythical beings, I've always had a fondness Gorgon-like designs just because I like snakes and the concept of styling snake hair. Plus I've been trying for ages to craft a Gorgon character (in the past they've just been my own spins on Medusa) but this time I just chose a completely original character approach.

I kind of like the idea of using her to explore a mythical being populated setting like secret cities hidden from humans filled with mythical creatures.

But for now, she exists as a nice little character concept.

I commented and pointed out to OP that the relationship during adolescence being referred to in this very good book they show is NOT child to child, but adult to child. That is the type of attachment needed for healthy development.

I also recommended the excellent book The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog by Dr. Bruce Perry for further reading on the topic of child trauma. My comment to OP was kind and supportive, but still pointing out the error in their interpretation.

CroMa fandom, why you in denial about the fact that Crona needs THERAPY???

Thing is... It could have been anyone to exorcise Crona. It just happened to be Maka. But Crona would have developed a dependency on whoever had first reached out to them. Maka isn't special. Maka was just the one who was there. And to really heal, Crona needs professional help. A romance or even a friendship isn't gonna magically solve Crona's problems. Neither will antidepressants or other drugs. Children need a positive adult attachment. This is well-established brain science, not opinion.

Highkey think y'all know that, CroMa stans, and don't wanna admit it cuz...you think it would sink your ship? 🤔 Idk. A kid can have friends, that is normal but that can't be their primary relationship. That's not healthy for anyone, and especially not for someone in deep trauma.

Disney's The Haunted Mansion | The Medusa Changing Portrait

A young priestess turns into a stony gorgon. When the Mansion opened in 1969, Medusa was the third painting down the Portrait Corridor. In 2005, when a different effect was put in, Medusa was moved down the hallway to become the fifth portrait, taking up the space once occupied by Miss April-December. When the Haunted Mansion opened at Walt Disney World in 1971, the "after" stage (the stony gorgon) was used as one of the Sinister 11. Medusa's eyes glowed and followed Doombuggies as they moved down the hallway. During the 2007 renovation, the lightning flash changing portrait of Medusa was hung up in the Portrait Hall, the Sinister Eleven version going into the Disney Archives and being brought out for exhibitions. At Tokyo Disneyland, the after stage of Medusa is still used as one of the Sinister 11 as was the case in Walt Disney World before 2007.
