Some silly HermitCraft age regression headcanons I like!

Remember, these are entirely my opinion, you don’t have to agree! I might not even use them in my writing! It’s just for fun! :DD

- Keralis and Xisuma both have a very strong parental instinct! Though Keralis has the ability to tell when anybody is even slightly regressed. (He won’t tell a soul how he knows.)

- Ren has a very hard time not regressing when he sees another regressed person. It’s almost on sight.

- Ren chews through most chews he’s given and often feels very bad about it. Though his friends are very understanding and help him eventually feel better about it.

- Impulse and Etho are both caregivers and regressors!

- Grian is a complete cuddle bug while little. He has to be touching someone at all times, hand holding, hugs, cuddles, the whole shebang. He tries to deny it afterwards, chalking it up to avian instincts, but deep down he knows it’s true.

- Scar tries to have a stuffie with him at all times, he sees them like they’re alive and treats them as such.

- Bdubs can nap absolutely anywhere and everywhere. You could go to any hermit and they could give you a whole list of the strangest places they’ve found him sleeping. (Could be seen as age regression or not!)

- During the hippies days in s6, Impulse, Grian, and Ren would have little playdates, they’d play all kinds of board game or hide and seek. Sometimes Scar, False, and Doc would come over too! Or they’d all go to area 77, and have big movie nights!

- I have a feeling Decked Out 2 is a very overwhelming game, so Tango had a calm down/sensory room put in place in case anyone needed it! (Could also be seen for age regression or not!)

🌿 — this was the very first request sent in and my first ever time doing a writing per a request so thank sm!!! i hope i did okay with the prompt, i tried my best drawing from different sources on living with chronic pain so i really hope i did it justice with the right amount of sensitivity and respect. i love writing for cgmumbo so i hope you enjoy my writing of him as well. thank you!!!

The idea of flaking out once again on a plan set weeks ago forced this rolling feeling in his stomach. Was that dread? He��ll go with dread. Scar was dreading the idea of telling his friends that he couldn’t build with them today despite being one of the ones to pitch the idea in the first place.

But standing in the middle of his kitchen, he could barely will the strength to make himself a proper meal. Or even one at all.

A soft whine bubbled up from throat and he rubbed his face as the deep-set thrumming of his joints came to a brief crescendo before simply sitting on the cold tile. His head thumped gently on the cabinet behind him and he wondered if he could get away with sitting here all day, letting the tile cool down his aching legs. The pattering of little feet quickly dismissed that idea though, he turned his head just as Jellie rounded the corner, an indigent meow filling the air and hitting sharply against his ears.

“Hi, Jellie,” Scar greeted with a smile as she came over, butting her head across his knee and up to his waist, leaving her soft grey fur on his pyjama pants in her wake. Eventually, she settled in his lap, this time to meow directly into his face. “I know I’m supposed to message someone by now,” he says quietly, letting his hand run down her back, another meow follows.

“But asking him is hard…” he whined as Jellie jumped out of his lap and bumped her body against the cabinet next to him that she knew held her cans of food. The idea of popping open a can made his fingers ache. “But Jellie needs breakfast…” Scar concluded, watching as Jellie paced the kitchen to better project her demands for breakfast.

He pulled out his communicator and typed out a message to the lesser of two evils. Evils, in this case, was breaking the news to his friends that he was having a bad pain day or telling Mumbo the same. He needed Mumbo first, for Jellie of course. What with how his fingers ached as they did, opening a tab can would not go too well for him.

It didn’t take long at all for Scar to hear his front door creak open and the familiar light footsteps of Mumbo Jumbo, slightly clicky from the dress shoes that he insists are comfortable for everyday wear.

To someone unfamiliar with Scar and his fluctuating pain levels, the sight upon entering the kitchen might’ve been concerning. One might think he’d fallen, maybe they would fuss over him and insist they check him over for injury. And in some distant past that was Mumbo as well– that was everyone who’d joined in those early days. But now Mumbo knew, and all of his friends on the server knew, this wasn’t an ordeal that needed to be dealt with urgency and pity.

“Bad pain day?” he asked with a reassuring smile, squatting down to Scar’s level. Scar confirmed with a soft huff that might’ve been a chuckle or indication of pain. It didn’t really matter, they both knew what it meant. Scar held out a tin can that he managed to get out of the cabinet while waiting for Mumbo.

“Fingers too bendy ‘n Jellie hasn’ had b’eakfast,” He slurred out, his mind relaxing at just the sight of his caregiver. “Open, please?”

“Of course,” Mumbo took it gently and spoke as he peeled off the metal top and placed it to the side for Jellie to enjoy, “And what about Scar, has he had breakfast?”

A definite shake of the head that threw Scar’s fringe over his eyes was what he got in response.

Mumbo chuckled lightly and Scar grinned at the sound, letting his hair be pushed to the side to make way for the kiss pressed onto his forehead. Those same hands settled on either side of his face, holding him.

“I think…” Mumbo drew out in that exaggerated way that he knew made a little Scar hang on to every word, “It is a wonderful day for a bedroom picnic, what do you think?” Bedroom picnic was this fun activity that the duo made up many moons ago in which you bring everything entertaining and enough snacks to last you the day into somewhere comfy, usually a bedroom, and stay there. It was reserved for days like these when being anything but stationary was far too laborious on Scar’s body. He could spend the day napping and being small in between to try and ignore the aches.

“I can’t! I’m ‘posed to help Gri and ‘mpulse to build today and– and I don’t want them to be mad at me,” Scar pulled himself from Mumbo’s gentle hold and oh did that hurt Mumbo more than it should have.

“What? Why would they be mad?” In Mumbo’s anxiety-ridden mind, thoughts of the worst flooded his brain. Had Grian or Impulse said something rude? By mistake or otherwise? Did someone else say something rude? Someone new? Had Mumbo himself said something off and he didn’t even notice?

“I just– I said that I could an’…an’ I can but I can’t even though I p’omised,” Scar rambled on half coherently and just like that, those irrational thoughts drained from his mind. Yes, of course. Of course Scar wasn’t upset over what anyone else would have said, he’s had a lifetime of experience to tell him that what others say about him doesn’t matter. But it seems he’s in his head today and this is clearly something that’s been on his mind for a while. To Mumbo, there were a few options on how to handle this.

The first, well, wasn’t viable and would not even happen now that he was here. The first option would be to just let Scar exert his body with the idea that he had to in order to please his friends, an option that could only happen if Scar were in the headspace for it– read, an adult headspace that was at suboptimal mental health.

But Scar isn’t entirely an adult right now and as young as he is right now, he doesn’t have the mental power right now for the nuance of overexerting himself for the sake of others. If he did, he would not have called for Mumbo in the first place.

“I see…” Then there was the second option, “Well, those two in particular know Scar very well,” Mumbo continued, “and I think they’d be very sad if they knew their best friend was hurting because of them, hm?” Play into Scar’s endless sympathy. Nobody can be sad on Scar’s watch, be it while he’s big or little, everyone must be happy. He designed and built a whole theme park for the sole purpose of seeing his friends happy.

And it worked like a charm

“I don’t want Gri to be sad!” He exclaimed loudly, the idea of his best friend being gloomy just unbearable.

“Just… Grian?” Mumbo couldn’t help himself, he had to tease a little bit if Scar was going to cling to one idea at a time.

“Or Impulse!” Scar tacked on as well, the lighthearted jab flying over his head.

“Gosh, I don’t want them sad either, now that I think of it,” Mumbo pretended to fret, knowing just how much the little one needed some dramatics to get the whole message. “And if a hurting Scar makes them sad…” he trailed off, looking off to the side with a finger on his chin.

“I know! A Scar that’s not hurtin’ will—will make them happy!”

And with a little bit of storytelling logic, Mumbo is victorious in fixing this issue without a single tear shed.

“What a clever lad, I think that will make them very happy,” he says softly, letting himself fall away from the exaggerated way of speaking. “Let’s head back to bed and then tell them this great news together, yeah?” Mumbo stood from his space on the floor and extended a hand toward Scar. In response, the younger raised both of his arms in silent request.

And who was Mumbo to deny him?

-when he regresses he's surprisingly chill in contrast from how he acts when big

-he chews on EVERYTHING! no emf reader is safe!

-he doesnt talk much when little and uses communication cards attached to a lanyard with parrots on it

-he loves listening to music the most, especially game osts and he stims to them vocally and physically

-he also never does anything without his signature red sweater

•regresses around the ages 2-4

•his main cg is skizz!

-he's very gentle in general but that doesn't mean his chaoticness goes away

-he's very playful with all the littles and adapts pretty well to their needs

-he's works out so he can try to carry the his littles around. he can! but only for short distances

-even though skizz carries the mom bag™, he usually packs it and uses it the most

-when he's regresses, at first, he's very shy and embarrassed. he feels he shouldnt regress since he caregives so much. but once he's reassured and calms down, he is chaos incarnate.

-he loves playing pretend and just running around in general. and since he works out, he's got a lot of stamina; it takes hours to get him to calm down for a nap or for bed

-he doesn't have trouble with "i dont wamna go to bed" bu he's so energetic that he cant sit still long enough to fall asleep for bed/a nap. skizz has to carefully plan ways for him to waste his energy than lull him to bed with a warm drink and tons of blankets and cuddles. skizz has gotten pretty good at it

-he loooooves playdates, especially with gem bc she's the only one who can keep up with his energy levels

-he's an expert at comfy clothes! wanting or changing into comfy clothes is a big giveaway that he's regressed/regressing

-he gives everyone nicknames and everyone has a nickname for when their big, small, or caring

-his favorite item is a cow rattle he had when he was physically little

•regresses around the ages of 6-9

•she says she prefers to regress alone but skizz ends up being her main cg

-very sassy

-she always tries to continue the ghost work even when regressed despite being scared

-she's a gaming kid, can be found playong every console she can get her hands on

-she has to have her hair pulled up some way when regressed, which is impulse's job! when gem is feeling older, she asks impulse braid her hair in complex braids. all of which end up messy by the end of the day

-she also loves coloring! she could color for hours! but skizz makes sure she takes plenty of breaks

-her favorite tv show is monster high!

•his main cg is grian!

-he mainly involuntarily regresses, which doesnt make ghost hunting easy

-decorates his cane and wheelchair with bright colorful stickers

-when he regresses on a hunt, he sits in the van with grian and watches Wild Kratts

-he is VERY chatty when regressed. is he understandable? no, not really, but everyone still pretends to understand and reacts accordingly to his babbles

-he uses pull ups with cats doodled on them as a design, its the only kind he'll wear

-his favorite plushie is his jellie plushie which he carries with him everywhere, regressed or not

-he loves playing with toys but he doesnt play with the same toy for more than 10 minutes, aside from giant legos. if you look away for more than a minute, he'll have built a skyscraper

-it is impossible to put him down for a nap. only grian can but even then, he struggles. he just wants to stay up and play!

-grian always inlists impulse to pull up his hair bc that kid gets food in his hair no matter how hard grian tries to avoid it

•regresses around the ages 5-7

•his main cg is impulse!

-he's a very energetic cg and mostly arranges things like playdates and days out

-he's also the one to carry a mom bag™ with surprise gear

-if one of the other members of giggs is stressed, he's usually the one to coax them into regressing

-he is veerrrryyyy warm so everyone huddles near him or hugs him when their cold to leech off his body heat

-when he regresses, he's very quiet and cuddly. he clings to impulse and barely leaves his side

-he also cries and gets embarrassed very easily

-gem tries to get him to participate in activities but he mostly just wants to cuddle with someone. he'll join in on playing if he feels like it.

-he carries around his comfort plushie which is a lamb plushie named Baa

-if he feels comfortable, he vocal stims A LOT. mostly just humming or repeating one word at a time. he accidentally hums himself to sleep sometimes

-impulse carries a blanket for him everywhere they go just in case

Okaaaaaaay so I've been working on this idea for a fic I came up with a couple months ago. I'm finally making good progress on it!

Im not ready to start posting it yet because it needs editing and I don't even have a title for it at the moment, but it's coming along pretty well!

I've got 6 chapters planned out. The first chapter is written and a little bit edited, and I'm working on the second chapter now.

Its a platonic mumscarian au where they're roommates. In it Grian's got trauma... I think I don't know how to not give him trauma... but said trauma has lead to him going through some changes mentally.

Grian is going to be an age regressor! So he's been through some stuff in the past that's had him to start experiencing some signs, but there will be an event that really triggers it and like Jumpstarts it.

None of them really know about age regression and don't know what's happening. But they work through it and eventually figure it out together.

The main focus won't necessarily be age regression, as I see this fic as kind of a never ending, go as long as I have idea fic, but the main arc in the beginning will be about that.

"Pix?" Pix tilted his head towards the source of the noise. He had a basket of froglights in one hand and a stuffed Winchester in the other. He quickly shoved the plush under the collection of lights, though he was unsure as to why. Joel was nice enough, and probably wouldn't judge him, but old habits die hard. Old habits? What a strange thought, he hadn't any idea where that thought came from.

In. Out. In. Out. He was fine. There was no good reason to be panicking.

And yet, he could feel his breaths coming in puffs, and hear his heart pound in his ears. He brought a trembling hand to his hair and tugged. Tears trickled down his cheeks as his heart thudded to the rhythm of the rain outside.

"Oh dear," Pix straightened, wiping his face off as he turned towards the voice. "I'm very sorry, I hadn't meant to frighten you." The young God continues, approaching quietly. Lightening flashed, revealing the softness in his eyes, and the ridiculous outfit he wore.

"You need a better tailor," Pix said sniffling.

"Scar!" Grian shouted excitedly. Scar waved from where he was doodling plans for a new build. "Guess what?"

"Whats up birdie?" Scar indulged softly, tilting his head towards his younger friend. "What's got you so excited?" Grian flapped his wings, blowing the papers on Scar's desk all over the place, though neither of them payed it any mind.

@buncakey who put this idea in my head in the first place due to a post from awhile ago, (that I only recently remembered about,) and now the concept lives in my head rent free

~The difference between cat regressed Scar and spider regressed Scar is not a lot.

~Both version of him will at any given moment hiss at you. Weather it be content hisses or go away hisses. Or if he’s just feeling non-verbal.

~Both will be found curled up in a nest of far too many blankets and pillows. Nine times out of ten will also have some type of stuffed animal with him as well. (This event has led many hermits who have walked in on him to wonder, just how is it that this man doesn’t overheat?)

~And both made content little ‘purrs’ when very happy or given attention.

~But one of the main differences was while Scar was in kitten space he liked to curl up in a sunny spot and nap the day away. Spider space however…

~Meant finding a dark corner and hiding there until an unsuspecting hermit walked by. Then jumping out, grabbing at the hermits sleeve, and trying to chomp them. He only meant it in the friendliest way possible he swears.

~Doesn’t mean he hasn’t given quite a few hermits a heart attack when he’s done this without any warning. His habits have made most hermits nervous to be around any dark corner of their base in fear of being jumped scared.

~The first time he had done so with Zedaph he’d sent the sheep hybrid into near hysterics. Chest heaving with both laughter, and genuine fear. Wasn’t Scar’s fault that he liked Zed’s base cause of the mob mobile that dangled from the center. It was very pretty.

~It had been a surprise to Cleo when he jumped out at her with a growl. She had sworn, quickly notified someone that there was a little on the loose causing chaos, then she proceeded to join him. Cause, was there really anything more fun than jumping out of dark places and scaring hermits? In her opinion, no. There wasn’t. And Scar was just as eager to have a playmate.
