'Say what you want: David Tennant is one of the best Doctors of modern Who. Ever since he strolled into the Tardis for the first time in his pyjamas (it's a long story), he has captivated audiences and arguably (under the showrunning command of Russell T Davies) helped make Doctor Who the international success is it today.
Part of it, of course, is down to Tennant's amazing acting range. From fury to playfulness, we got the full gamut during his time as Doctor - but in the interests of whittling them down, we've picked some of his best moments here. Enjoy.
Meeting Donna again – Partners in Crime
Both Tennant and Catherine Tate really get to show off their comedy chops in this episode. After first appearing in the 2006 special The Christmas Bride, Donna and the Doctor end up running into each other again when both start investigating the obviously evil Adipose Industries (yes, they’re aliens).
Mouthing words at each other from opposite sides of an office window, the wordless comedy is on point, Tennant’s confusion is priceless and their energy gels perfectly: an auspicious start to the new season.
Time Lord Victorious – The Waters of Mars
Sometimes, the Doctor bites off more than he can chew; nowhere more so than in ultra-horror special The Waters of Mars. As evil sentient water wreaks soggy havoc and kills members of a Martian research station one by one, the Doctor is forced to watch helplessly because it’s a nexus event – i.e. a moment in the timeline that can’t be changed. Until, that is, he stops caring and rescues the last member of the research station - only for her to commit suicide.
It’s a shocking moment and Tennant sells the whole thing utterly as the weary, battle-worn Doctor who ultimately tells the Tardis: “I’ve overreached myself.”
Sarah-Jane returns – School Reunion
One for the classic Doctor Who fans: the Doctor’s companions always leave, but just sometimes, they get to come back. School Reunion marked Elisabeth Sladen’s return to the Whoniverse after more than two decades as fan favourite Sarah-Jane Smith, who (as it turns out) has become somewhat of a mini-Doctor in her own right. Everything about this scene is gold: the Doctor’s simple introduction (“Hello, Sarah-Jane”), her sudden realisation of who he is, Tennant’s giddy grin, and their reminiscing about the old times. Chef’s kiss.
John Smith is the Doctor – Family of Blood
Family of Blood is one of the more out-there Who episodes. On the run from a mysterious family of aliens, the Doctor traps his Time Lord essence in a pocket watch and starts a new life without his memories, living happily as “John Smith” the literary professor.
He even ends up in a relationship – so imagine his horror when he is told that John Smith isn’t real, and that he has to give up his life (aka restore his memories as the Doctor, thus making him a completely different person) in order to save the school from the supernatural horrors plaguing it. Even though John Smith only appears for one episode, he makes an impression, especially with his anguish towards the end of the episode.
The Doctor and Rose are separated – Doomsday
This devastating scene happens at the end of Tennant’s first season as the Doctor, when Rose is dragged into a parallel universe and the two are separated forever. Or so they think!
It’s not just the heartbreaking scene where the pair realise they’re stranded on opposite sides of the massive white wall that serves as a portal between dimensions (sob) but their final goodbye in Bad Wolf Bay, where Ten tells her he’s burning up an entire sun to say goodbye. Tennant is acting his heart out, the puppy dog eyes are working overtime. Those who don’t want it and end up crying have hearts of stone.
“Did you miss me?” - The Christmas Invasion
Tennant’s Doctor spends most of his first episode trapped in a deep slumber after a traumatic regeneration. As the warlike Sycorax attempt to take over the planet, Rose puts him in the Tardis with a flask full of tea… which magically revives him. Strolling nonchalantly into the heart of the war operation armed with nothing but a satsuma, he winks at her and asks, “Did you miss me?” And in no time at all, it’s as if he never went away.
Possessed by Cassandra – New Earth
Few would argue that New Earth is one of the best Doctor Who episodes, but there’s one thing it does get right: when Ten gets possessed by the malicious sentient trampoline (yes, really) Cassandra. It’s a golden opportunity to Tennant to showcase his comedy chops. “Two hearts!” he crows. “Oh, baby, I’m beating out a samba!” In fact, he was so good he reportedly had co-star Billie Piper in fits of giggles throughout.
Timey-wimey – Blink
Who’d have thunk it: the most iconic Who episode ever is the one where the Doctor hardly appears. Zapped back in time by the Weeping Angels, the only way he can communicate with modern-day protagonist Sally Sparrow (Carey Mulligan) is via pre-recorded video tape. This is the episode that coined the phrase ‘wibbly wobbly, time-wimey’ that are now common Who parlance. Plus, while it’s hard to be charismatic through a grainy TV screen, he manages it.
The Master dies – Last of the Time Lords
Though Derek Jacobi was the first person to play the Master since the show’s reboot (what a catch), John Simm was the one who made the role his own. After capturing the Doctor, he transformed the Earth into an ultra-capitalist hellscape. When his comeuppance finally arrives, he’s shot by Martha’s mum Francine (Adjoa Andoh) but in one final act of spite, he refuses to regenerate, leaving the Doctor completely alone. The closing shots of him sobbing over his old rival’s body are gut-wrenching.
Goodbye Donna – Journey’s End
The scene that spawned a thousand memes: Sad Doctor In The Rain. After successfully saving the world (yet again) it turns out that Donna (who has sort-of merged with the Doctor’s DNA in order to save them all; another long story) is going to die unless she has her memory wiped. That means removing any trace at all of the Doctor. She pleads and begs to try and prevent it, but it’s no good – and that parting shot of him leaving her for ever is haunting. Sad eyes for days.
The Doctor regenerates – The End of Time (Part 2)
It’s the big’un. David Tennant plays a blinder in his last-ever episode as the Doctor who has lost his way: alternately raging, terrified, and accepting of his fate. His last swansong - revisiting all his companions, checking in that they're doing okay - is sweetly touching, and of course his final words, "I don't want to go," are delivered with such gusto that they elicit all the emotions. Every single time.'

Ah the hospital, a building that brings both life and death. Through your eyes, you see spirits of old patients and doctors walk around, observing the living or simply comforting those who are mourning the death of another. Midnight waits outside and remains invisible while you enter the hospital, nodding hellos to a few of the spirits and as you pass the maternity ward, you see a spirit of Life's domain celebrating the birth of a new child. Spirits of Life are those who've died and were recruited to help Life produce new life, let it be humans, animals or nature. The spirit notices you and smiles, waving hello while you wave with the same grin. " Congratulations friend. " " Thank you! " You like talking to spirits of Life, they're nice and despite what humans think, Life and Death are the best of friends and not the worst of enemies. Only a few humans truly understand it. You head to the designated room and find an old woman sleeping, she's been disconnected from life support and her family had already said their goodbyes so she lays there as her last breath is drawn out. Her body glows a soft blue and her soul lifts up from her body, allowing you to see the chain tethering the soul to the body before you slice it with your scythe. The soul takes on the form of the old lady and as she wakes up and stands next to you, her form begins to change to when she was a young woman in her 20s. " . . . Have any questions? " She looks at you and smiles. " No, thank you though. I knew you would come for me, and I've lived a good life. " She continues to look at her older and lifeless corpse, chuckling softly. " Actually I do have a question, do I go to Heaven or Hell? " You look at her with a warm and kind look in your eyes. " Heaven and Hell are just places mortals made up to scare each other into being good people, there is only Life and Death. You're free to choose reincarnation, heading to the afterlife or staying here like everyone else. " She tilts her head in deep thought. " Hmm... Could I go back to my Henry? His name was Henry Stanford, he died when I was in my 40s and I'd like to see him again. " " Afterlife it is then, he'll be waiting for you. " You tap the ground twice with your scythe, a portal opening. The woman smiles and kisses you on the cheek before walking through the portal. The last thing you see is her reuniting with her lover who waves at you before the portal closes up, and so you're onto the next soul. - - - The second soul of the night is a little girl, given the short end of the stick and dying of cancer. She is alone when you enter her room, looking at you wide-eyed. " Hello I'm Lila, who are you mister? " You sit next to her on the bed, smiling while taking off your hood. " I'm a friend, do you know what's happening to you? " Lila looks down and sniffles a bit, piecing together the puzzle in her head before she looks up at you. " Mhm, I'm not getting better so my body is failing to keep me alive. Is dying painful? " " Only in a few different ways, but you're one of the lucky ones who don't die in pain. You're a smart little girl, Lila. " You smile warmly at her, making her giggle. " Thank you, I'm only 8 years old! My parents are out talking with the doctors, and I know my time is coming but I don't want to make mommy or daddy sad. Am I a bad person for dying too early? " You shake your head. " No, no. So far from what I've seen, you're a kind and considerate young girl who was given the short end of the stick. Your parents are only sad because they won't see you anymore except in pictures and in their memories, and I'm sure they've tried. Do you have any relatives who I've visited? " Lila's eyes lights up as she smiles. " My uncle! He was a good man but he died in an accident, is he in the good place or the bad place? " She tilts her head as you laugh a bit. " He's in a good place, he'd love to see you again. "
" Shall I have this dance? "
Ghost has danced with Death countless times and only watched Death take his friends and loved ones with no ability of doing anything to stop it even more. He likes to imagine he's Death itself, until the day Death arrived atop a black horse in his dream... or should I say vision?
- - -
You are Death, not in a 'I'm-so-war-torn-and-edgy' way but in a more legit way. You were once a man named Garret, you had been slaughtered in captivity of the enemy and then woke up to find yourself being interviewed by the former Grim Reaper who instantly hired you on the spot as the new Grim Reaper.
Your horse is apparently your old cat named Midnight reincarnated so when you found him, you two were happy to see each other and an old bond between you both came back from the dead.
Some perks of being the Grim Reaper is wielding the scythe, yes you'll admit you're still a dork, and getting to travel the world freely. Since you're as dead as a doorknob, you also get to see the spirit world so you're a frequent visitor to Japan for the festivals held by the Mononokes and Yokais.
- - -
Every Day of The Dead, you visit old friends who've long died and still use your skills of speaking Spanish so they don't get rusty. It's great partying with them, and speaking of languages, you've mastered every language before you were signed up for field duty.
One night after being a sweetheart to a lonely dying man, letting him cross over to the afterlife, you hear your phone go ding so you take it out and see you've been given a new assignment. What strikes you as odd is that this isn't your usual task of finding a certain person across the world to help them move on but... to find a group of people who need to stay alive.
You accept it anyway, whistling for Midnight who comes galloping with a whinny. " New task Midnight, I gotta keep a group of individuals alive this time. A little strange but I'm always one for something new. " The pair of you start heading off with a portal opening up quickly in front, which you both enter through.
Upon entering through, you're back in your personal room with a letter on your bed. Midnight morphs into a black cat and sits on your bed, meowing while softly papping the letter. " Oh, thanks Midnight. " You pick it up and start reading it.
" 'Dear Mr. Reaper, upon accepting this task you hereby are required to wear a human disguise and it is important you do so as to not startle anyone. You are still free to go about your other tasks but you cannot forget that your group of particular individuals are of great importance.' Wow they still always seem so posh in these letters. Anyways... 'Upon further notice, your records from your previous life will not be used but you will go under a new alias with a secret life. It is up to you to remain anonymous, and once your task is fulfilled, you will be free from this task and go onto other tasks.' " You notice there's another slip of paper so you swap it with the other letter. " 'Your task will last until the designated timestamps of each individual.' " Below is a list of names and the ages they die. John Price - Current age: 48 - Death age: 90 " Goddamn. " Kyle 'Gaz' Garrick - Current age: 28 - Death age: 86 John 'Soap' MacTavish - Current age: 28 - Death age: 84 Simon 'Ghost' Riley - Current age: 29 - Death age: 85 For a moment you think the last two names are going to die together until you find a little sidenote. 'Simon Riley and John MacTavish are to die at the same time. They are bound by the chains of Fate and their love is written in the stars.' Huh. You've heard of those kinds of deaths, where love continues to live on even in death. You know a few guys like that too, but you've never experienced it in person. There are other names too. 'Konig' - Current age: 32 - Death age: 80 Kim 'Horangi' Hong-jin - Current age: 31 - Death age: 79 Another pair bound by chains. Gary 'Roach' Sanderson - Current age: 27 - Death age: 75 Nikolai 'Nik' Belinski - Current age: 49 - Death age: 90 Alejandro Vargas - Current age: 42 - Death age: 83 Rodolfo Parra - Current age: 41 - Death age: 82 And that makes a fourth pair. You catalogue the four pairs bounded by fate and take a deep breath, folding away the letter and putting it in your pocket. Midnight meows at you softly. " I know, this'll be one of the longest tasks I've done. But at least it's not eternity. " - - - (Pairs bounded by fate are John x Nikolai, Ghost x Soap, Konig x Horangi and Alejandro x Rodolfo. Yeh.)

Fateful Night
Grian never forgot his original home, his original family. He didn’t remember the adoption of him and his brothers, but he remembered time after that. His father, King Philza Minecraft, was kind and firm to his sons and his kingdom. He remembered Wilbur’s love of all things musical, how he preferred words over a blade. He recalled his days training alongside Techno in the courtyard, both laughing as they beat their opponents together. He remembered his bedroom in the right wing of the castle, in between Technoblade and Wilbur’s. He remembered his crown and his cape, how he would proudly wear them during celebrations and balls.
But those days were over, he had to remind himself to move on. SMP Earth’s portal had been out of commission for years now, and no one knew why. Signs that the server still existed were found, but no one could piece together the pieces to find the issue with the server. No one could make contact with anyone stuck inside the server, and no one inside could get out. Grian couldn’t get back to his former home, he couldn’t get back to his family. In a way, that makes things easier to live somewhere else. He had disappeared from SMP Earth as a young child, much too young. Now, as a grown man, no one knew of his royal status. He didn’t push to hide his status from his new friends and family, but his situation wasn’t exactly anything that anyone could easily bring up into a conversation. Instead of trying to find a way to tell people, he just found it easier to not acknowledge at all.
He still can’t help but wonder, to question. He still didn’t understand how he was taken away from his room, his palace. He did question some of the competitors in MCC, how they seemed so familiar yet so different. He did wonder whatever became of his baby brother. He remembers many names for the child, but his brain couldn’t pinpoint what name was chosen in the end. It had been so long ago when the child was adopted that his brain couldn’t mush together his name. But he still remembered his eyes, how they shone with curiosity. He still recalls the night that he and his brother’s met the young babe for the very first time.
----------
The winter was colder than usual that year, too cold. Techno and Grian were walking beside Wilbur, taking sips of hot cocoa as Wilbur rambled about his newfound hatred of anteaters. Classes had ended hours before, and they were trying to their best to pass the time until dinner was prepared. They would have usually spent this time with their father, all talking about their day as they sat in the king’s study. Unfortunately, for the princes, this tradition was broken that night. Their father had left after lunch to conduct his weekly visit to the cities and towns that fell under the kingdom’s protection. Unlike the previous visits, however, he had not returned yet. Visits usually lasted a few hours, but tonight was different. It had been six hours since lunch, and he was still gone. As much as they wanted to panic, the triplets knew that things would be okay. This was their father, after all, nothing could scare or harm him.
Grian waved at the night guards as he and his brothers entered the courtyard. They made it halfway when they heard the familiar sound of wings flapping. Turning around, they greeted their father as he landed in front of them. They were stunned, however, why their father hastily nodded to them, before rushing away without a single word. The boys watched in confusion as he curled his wings over himself, as if to shield something in his arms. Although his face appeared to stay neutral and calm, the triplets knew better. Their father was afraid, they could tell by the way he held himself. After exchanging glances with each other, they rushed to follow him, their hot cocoa long forgotten. They followed in worry, listening as Phil barked orders in an unfamiliar, stern voice. They watched as servants ran off, gathering all the nurses and doctors they could find. Phil kicked his bedroom door open, causing the triplets to jump back in surprise. When they regained their composure, they rushed forward to see what their father was shielding. Or, in this case, who he was shielding. The three princes froze in their spots as their father unraveled his wings, revealing an infant babe, bundled in a tattered and burnt blanket. They made their way to step inside the room, but were quickly ushered aside by nurses, who closed the door before them.
“Was that a baby?”
“New sibling, pog.”
“What do you think their name is?”
“I bet it’s a boy!”
“Nuh uh, it’s a girl!”
“Guys, they’re a baby, not an it.”
“I bet I’ll be the favorite brother.”
“No way!”
The triplets sprung into action, ready to greet their new sibling. Rushing back to their rooms, they all quickly worked to make themselves presentable for the welcoming. Dawning their softest sweaters, they each exited their rooms to return to their father. Wilbur adjusted his beanie, Techno his crown, as Grian adjusted the grip on his stuffed cow. All sharing a satisfied smile, they made their way to their father’s room. As they walked down the hall, they took note of the sorrowful expressions of the nurses and doctors who were walking in the opposite direction. When they finally reached the door to the room, they were greeted by a familiar witch doctor. The man smiled down at the young princes, tipping his hat to them as he walked away. When they entered the bedroom, they saw their father sitting on the bed, his back turned to them. As they moved towards him, they were greeted by him, his voice soft.
“Boys, you should be at the dinner table by now.”
“Is that our new sibling?”
Wilbur played with his fingers as he watched his father’s movements, Techno and Grian following their brother’s actions. Phil finally turned to face the three boys, who all faltered at his tired eyes. Giving his sons a tired smile, Phil beckoned the three boys over to him. Slowly approaching the bed, they saw the infant lay on the comforter, his small hands balled into a fist and clinging to his blanket. They watched as he took ragged breaths, his chest rising and falling in uneven patterns. Techno was the first to speak up.
“Is it okay?”
“Techno, don’t be rude!”
“Heh?”
Phil lightly chuckled as he returned his gaze from his sons to the small infant, who was sprawled upon the bed, his breathing becoming shakier as the seconds passed. The triplets frowned as the sadness returned to Phil’s eyes, his voice getting quiet.
“I found a village outside of our kingdom’s borders. It had been burned and destroyed by pillagers. I searched the village many times, but he was the sole survivor. I found him, bundled up, laying in the snow. He wasn’t moving or responding, but he was breathing. That was enough to get me to rush him back here.”
Grian tore his eyes away from his father, deciding to look at the sleeping child. The boy was cute, Grian will admit, but he did look sickly. Wiping some of the sweat off the infant’s forehead, he asked the question that plagued his mind.
“Will he be okay?”
His father and brothers turned to face him, watching as he combed the baby’s hair to the side. Techno and Wilbur quieted down as they faced their father. Phil sighed as he watched the tenderness in Grian’s actions. Closing his eyes, Phil spoke up.
“The regular doctors said there wasn’t anything they could do for him. The nurses said that only a miracle could pick him up from death’s door.”
The triplets felt colder than they have ever felt. They had just got their new baby brother, and now they were losing him. They had to say goodbye before they could say hello. It just wasn’t fair-
“However,”
Three small heads quickly returned their gazes to that of their father’s.
“The last doctor, an old friend of mine, managed to contact the stars. A goddess, Clara, had apparently responded without hesitation. She happily agreed to revive the child and give him her protection.”
The three couldn’t bring themselves to make a witty remark to their father. Magic was real, this was true. Totems of undying were real, this they knew. But as much as they loved listening and reading the stories, the three could not bring themselves to believe that the gods would care for an unknown babe. Complete nonsense, if you asked them. For all they knew, their father was just trying to keep their spirits up, so he most likely crafted a story so that the boys wouldn’t panic when the magic occurred. As they all turned their attention to the sickly baby, they noticed that he stopped breathing. There was silence as the four waited, watching. Wilbur couldn’t stop the watering of his eyes as he latched onto Techno, who was stiff as a board. Phil just closed his eyes, appearing to be praying to whatever entity was listening in, watching the panicked family. Grian, blinded by his own tears, watched over the infant. He let out a shuddering gasp as he held onto the child’s stiff hand with his own. Suddenly, the feeling of warm hands passing through him caused his eyes to widen in shock, the stuffed cow in his arms being pulled closer to his chest. The warmth left as quickly as it came, but that wasn’t what kept him silent. There, laying on the bed, was the baby, breathing normally. Leaning over to get a better look at him, he noticed the warmer tone in the baby’s skin. He took note of the small freckles that began to fade into view, seemingly to mimic small stars. Clutching the cow, Grian prepared to call his family over, only to be stopped by the child furrowing his eyebrows. With a quiet yawn, the baby slowly blinked his eyes open. Grian felt his throat tightened as beautiful, big blue eyes stared into his. Grian couldn’t help but notice how the child’s eyes were as of the sea and the stars conjoined into one. Suddenly, the child switched his gaze down to the stuffed cow in Grian’s arms. Eyes widening with excitement, the baby wiggled his arms free and reached for the toy, squealing in delight.
It was then that Grian knew that he fell in love.
----------
Grian always thought of his family, every day. He had found a new family with Hermitcraft, with its people and with his makeshift children. He was grateful for the family he had now, but he couldn’t help but miss the one he once had.
“Grian! Are you almost ready?”
Shaking his head, Grian called back to Mumbo, who was outside of the room. Reassuring Mumbo that he would meet him at the gates, he smiled as he finished getting ready. As he adjusted his shirt, Grian couldn’t help but feel giddy for tonight. How could he not? It was a special night on the server, after all. One of their youngest members, Tommy, had something grand planned for everyone to see. Tommy was a unique and unusual case for all the hermits. He had appeared two years prior, broken and dull. With nothing but a few personal items, he was nothing but a broken shell of what he used to be. The hermits worked hard to get him to where he was today, to help him heal. They still didn’t know his past pain, but they didn’t push him to reveal anything he didn’t want to. It took a while, but the boy eventually trusted them enough to settle down and make a home there with them. Now, they were ready to see his biggest project on the server. Months prior, Tommy had requested a big area to build an amusement park. He explained that it would be a fun and safe place, and that it was the gate for him to open up about his past to them. He brightened up as the hermits all voiced their encouragement and approval. He insisted on completing the project all by himself, and he did. As soon as it was complete, he sent out invitations to all the hermits for a private opening night. The invitations were dated for tonight. Humming to himself, he peeked into a spare room, satisfied to see Jrumbot and Grumbot asleep for the night. Grabbing his coat, Grian gave his reflection a nod as he left the house, on his way to meet the rest of the server.
----------
Tommy was almost jumping with joy as his friends arrived at the gates, each dressed in casual formal attire. His eyes scanned the crowd, pride blooming in his chest as he took note of everyone who arrived. When he saw Grian, he couldn’t help but cheer alongside his chat. Once he saw that everyone had arrived, he cleared his throat and spoke up.
“Fellas! Can I get a humina?”
Laughter bubbled in his throat as the hermits chanted without hesitation. Joy filled him as he cheered alongside them.
“That’s what I’m talking about!”
Taking a deep breath, Tommy nodded to himself with a smile as joy filled his tone. Quickly thinking over the few points in his speech that he wanted to voice, he happily spoke up.
“Thank you for coming, I mean it. Believe it or not, it took me forever to convince myself to send the invites. I’m glad I did, and I’m glad you all came. It means so much to me that you guys care so much. I hope to repay the kindness to the fullest. For now, however, I’ll give you guys a park and a backstory. Y’know, because I’m cool and shit. I’m like Spider-Man, tragic backstory and all that shit. Mentor tally is through the roof, heh.”
The hermits laughed and cheered at the young man, who glowed with pride before them. They had watched him pick himself up from the brink of death, watched as his dull eyes brightened with love and joy. Ender, they all loved this young hermit.
“Okay, enough stalling. I, TommyInnit, proudly present-”
Affectionate snickers filled the air as Tommy mimicked a drumroll.
“Innit an Adventure!!!”
Cheers erupted from everyone as the sign was revealed, and the gates unlocked. With a giddy bow, Tommy let them enter the newest star attraction of the server. Stress and Impulse doubled up, snatching Doc while they were at it. Grian smiled at Mumbo, who joined his side in the front of the crowd. The two nodded a greeting to Xisuma, who nodded back as Tommy began to show them the map, explaining the different areas of the park, as well as how he would conduct the tour, leaving his tragic hero backstory for the end, when they reached the campfire. After the basic points of the tour for opening night were completed, they all went on their merry way.
Their first stop was the center entrance of the park, dubbed “Tavern Town”. Living up to its name, there were two large taverns, both surrounded by shops and booth games of all kinds. As Tommy explained the way the lodging system would work in the different areas of the park, everyone took note of how much Tommy’s building skills had improved since his initial arrival, something they all felt pride in. He had truly grown so much since he first stumbled in, scared and confused. Once the excited teen finished going over the points for the area, everyone was free to explore the area. Grian opted to ruffle the teen’s hair, praising him for his work so far.
“What the fuck, Big G? Watch the hair, bastard. You know my badass locks take time, bruv.”
“Oh, shut your mouth, princess. I’ll mess with your hair if I feel like it.”
Grian could feel a few affectionate glares directed at the two, but he and Tommy could only smile at each other. Just as he was going to continue showering the younger boy with affection, Mumbo called him over. Tommy smiled as he followed in suit, not quite ready to leave the older man just yet. Soon enough they approached Mumbo, who happily dragged them to a door in the mountain that everyone seemed to be entering, interested. Grian glanced at the lit up sign that addressed the building.
The Cavern of Memories
Determined to face his past, Tommy put up a determined face and followed everyone in.
It was beautiful. There were rows upon rows with sections that represented different servers. Each small section represented a person. Everyone explored the various bonds their favorite bandit obtained during his life so far. The saw the elegant and aesthetically pleasing section of Eret, a strawberry dress neatly sewn by hand with a bi flag hanging above it. Flowers surrounded the stand, and the lighting made it beautiful. A crown and a pair of sunglasses sat elegantly by the stand. They murmured in awe at the different people from different worlds. Niki, Puffy, Schlatt, Dream, Karl, Quackity, Sapnap, BBH, Skeppy. They snickered as they stared with adoration at the sections for a Lani and Drista, which were made to be elegant, dainty, and full of chaos. They never prepared to see so much bedrock and forks in one section, with bee plushies and butter knives in the other. They studied the section created for Tubbo, who, according to the sign, was still Tommy’s best friend.
The group grew excited as they entered the rows for the hermits, dispersing and happily gawking over their personal sections. They couldn’t help but let the happiness swell within them as they saw the sections made especially for them. They appreciated everything in the sections, each item carefully crafted and picked for them.
Mumbo laughed as he pulled Grian over to the sections for Grumbot and Jrumbot. As Mumbo voiced his interest with the detail, Grian’s eyes wandered to an unexplored set of rows. Well, the entrance to it, at least. Furrowing his eyebrows, he headed over to it, curious. Tommy took notice and decided to follow, wanting Grian’s feedback the most. Little by little, everyone began to follow Grian and Tommy into the last section. As Grian stood at the entrance, he peered over to read the sign that stated the server these rows represented. He felt a sharp intake on his part as he read it over and over again, trying to make sure he was reading correctly.
‘SMP EARTH’
Letting out a breath, he entered, Tommy and Mumbo by his side. As he studied the sections and it’s layout, he knew where he was. This first part was obviously Business Bay. Perhaps Tommy was from there? Perhaps Tommy came from the same server he did.
Maybe Tommy knew a way back home.
“The Antarctic Empire? You really are social, Tommy.”
Grian’s eyes widened as he quickly looked over to Doc, who was reading the sign of the next part of the sections. Desperate to see what Tommy knew, he hurried over in unusual silence. The rest of the group quietly followed, worried for Grian’s sudden shift.
He froze.
He couldn’t believe his eyes.
How did Tommy even get all this?
Ignoring the worried voices behind him, Grian made his way to the largest section, and the last one. There, sitting elegantly upon the wall, was a family portrait. Phil lovingly smiled as his wings spread proudly behind him, his arms open and slightly extended. To Phil’s right was Grian’s eldest brother, Technoblade. He sat with a sharp yet, somehow, kind gaze. To Phil’s left was the second eldest, Wilbur. He smiled brightly, his eyes barely visible behind the grin. And there, in the center of the two, sat Grian. He smiled slightly, eyes filled with joy and love. In his arms, was his brand new baby brother, who stared curiously at who had to be the painter.
The royal Antarctic Empire outfits were on display, the crown of each respective member set on display beside each outfit. Many items were hung with sorrowful pride. Elytra there, a guitar in the corner, piano against the wall. Weapons of all kinds hung in an organized manner. Emeralds decorated the empty space. Grian felt his chest hurt as he choked on his words. He wasn’t even aware he was being addressed until two hands firmly grabbed his arms, and a face appeared.
“-kay, big man? What wrong?”
Tommy’s worried gaze trapped Grian in uncertainty. Finally able to form words, Grian’s broken voice filled the silence.
“How…How did you know them?”
Tommy blinked a few times, before turning around to face the display. They didn’t need to see his face to see the sorrow in the teen. Sighing, Tommy pointed at the baby in the portrait.
“See that lil’ man right there? That’s me, as a baby. Apparently I was found by the King, Philza Minecraft. He’s my adoptive dad. Then there’s my oldest brother, Technoblade-”
God, everyone could see how he tensed upon saying the name of his brother.
“-Then there's Wilbur. He practically raised me-”
Once again, his body language told the story. The way he slouched in defeat gave off warning alarms.
“-Then there’s my last older brother. I actually can’t remember his name, he went missing while I was still so small. I do remember some things from him, he gave me a cow on my first day. He’s also great at playing games, very pog. He’s actually the first face I saw when I arrived. You see, I was found in the snow of the ruins of what was once my village. I was dying, but then a witch doctor came and spoke to a goddess in the sky who agreed to revive me and shelter me. I still talk to her, whenever I get the chance. She’s guided me through a lot, she’s great. Her name is-”
“Clara.”
Tommy froze as he turned around, facing the owner of the voice. Grian just stared at him, desperation and hope in his eyes. Tommy stared in confusion as Grian approached him. Furrowing his eyebrows, Grian peered into the teen’s eyes. They stayed blue for a moment, but only a moment. Suddenly, Tommy seemed to have burst to life. Constellations painted his face, wonderful and beautiful as they are. They were Tommy’s one-of-a-kind and unique freckles, crafted specifically for him. And in his eyes? The stars and the sea danced together once more. Suddenly, Grian was wearing his best sweater in his father’s room once again, a cow hugged to his chest.
And then, he broke.
Tears escaped his eyes and he let out a strangled sob, throwing his arms around the younger boy, pulling him into a hug. Tommy let out a startled yelp as his friend engulfed him into a tight and gently embrace, sobbing into Tommy’s shoulder. Tommy had no idea what was happening. Why would Grian be so entranced by SMP Earth? Why would he care about Tommy’s relations to his family? Why did he know about Clara-
Wait-
Oh.
Oh.
Hol y sH I T
Pulling away, not quite believing what his mind put together, Tommy peered at the mess that was Grian. He looked, truly looked at his features. He still wasn’t sure, he didn’t want to hope. He didn’t want to hurt again. But as soon as Tommy peered into Grian’s eyes, he knew. There was no denying it. He knew those eyes. He’d never forget those eyes. They were the same, loving eyes that welcomed him into his new life.
“What the fuck, man.”
Mans before anyone could half-heartedly tell him off for his language, Tommy broke as well. The floodgates were let loose, and Tommy was the gatekeeper who allowed them to be free. Big blobs of tears fell off the boy’s face as he shoved his face into Grian’s chest. Grian, in turn, held onto Tommy as if he would disappear. The two crumbled to the floor, Grian rocking his baby brother in his arms once more, whispering soothing words to him. The rest of the group watched, and their very own hearts seemed to have burst alongside their two friends once they heard the next words.
“I’ve missed you, big bro.”
“I’ve got you, shooting star. I’m not letting you go, not again.”
All the hermits knew right then and there that the rest of the night would be filled with nothing but happiness and love.
They knew that the two finally found their home.

Please check out Part 3 if you haven’t, I think tumblr hid it for some people :( I promise it’s worth it.
You open one eye and look at Wanda sitting next to your bed.
“You should go help.” You say softly, but you cough violently right after.
“The battle is over. After you closed the portal, it got easier. All things considered.” Wanda stands up going to you. “Now go back to sleep, you need to rest. You almost died.”
“Please.” You dismiss her with your hand. “I almost die a lot.”
She chuckles at your response, but you agree with your head, because you are feeling tired anyway, and slowly you let yourself fall back to sleep.
When you wake up again, it doesn’t feel like much time has passed, but Wanda is nowhere to be found. You sit up on the bed, looking around. You get a glimpse of yourself in the window and your eyes widen. Wow, you look a lot worse than how you feel. You look like you’ve been in the middle of an explosion. Oh, wait. Did you really go to outer space? On the list of your life’s bad decisions, this is definitely number one, easy.
“Hey!” You hear, and turn to the door to see Wanda there. “You up. How are you feeling?”
“A lot better than how I’m looking.” You say, making her smile softly at you.
“Stark sent this for you.” She shows you a box of donuts and your mouth drops, almost comically. “He said if you didn’t like donuts, you were probably insane.”
“Well, donuts happen to be my favorite food, so-” You raise your arms, and she gives you the box. “Come on, let’s share.”
You open the box and find a little sticky note there, with a scribbled handwriting
Donuts are for geniuses who save the world - Mr. Playboy
You smile, ripping it off the box and shoving in your pocket. Wanda sits next to you, and you smile at her, before diving in for the food.
“So, is everyone ok?”
“Yeah, pretty beaten down and tired, but we won.” She shrugs, and you agree with your head. It feels good to hear this. We won. You’re a part of it, and she wants to make sure you know that. “Well, we couldn’t possibly have done it without you.”
“Oh please. Mister Thor could have gone to space, or I don’t know, anyone else?” You shuffle in bed uncomfortable. “It’s not like I can actually breathe in outer space.”
“Wait, what?” Wanda’s brows are pinched together at the sound of that. “And you went anyways?”
“Well, we needed to close the portal.”
“Thor could have gone. Do you realize you could have died?” She looks shocked by the revelation and you smile.
“Yeah, but it was either me or millions of people back on Earth.” You shrug, then push her with your shoulder. “Besides, I didn’t, right?”
“You’re a superhero alright.” Wanda says making your smile open wider. That sounds good. Really good. “You know the fight is over, right?” She asks and you agree with your head, mouth full of donuts. “Strange can send you home.”
“Oh.” You look at her, cleaning the corner of your mouth with the back of your hand. “Yeah. That’s great.”
“Wait.” Wanda leaves your room, but comes back a minute later with a polaroid camera. “So I don’t think I’ve imagined you.”
“Oh, you totally did.” You smile, looking at her, sitting in bed next to you. “I’m pretty sure we’re all in a very elaborated dream caused by an imp from the fifth dimension.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.” She says, and you shrug, throwing your arm around her shoulder and making a funny face.
“Take two.” You ask and she agrees, taking another one, where the both of you are smiling.
“I don’t mean to interrupt the fun.” Vision appears in your bedroom, coming from a wall, and you jump in bed from the scare.
“Vis! We talked about this. The door is right there!” Wanda points at it, and you laugh.
“Oh come on, if you could phase into a room, I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t use a door.” You tell her and Vision agrees with his head.
“It’s not exactly phasing, I’m just manipulating my density so I can become intangible.” He corrects, and you and Wanda look at each other holding a laugh. “Well, I came to offer you my services.”
“How come?”
“You are looking, if you allow me to say-” He asks and you nod so he goes on. “Rather beat up. I was thinking I could use the solar energy on you, to help your recovery.”
“That would be really helpful, in fact.” You say with a smile, and he agrees, getting ready to shoot you with it.
It all happens too fast. One second Vision is shooting you with solar energy, next second a portal is opening up in the bedroom, and the very next Supergirl is throwing herself on him, yelling:
“GET AWAY FROM MY KID!”
It’s so fast, it takes you a few more seconds to acknowledge the whole scene going on before you.
“Vision, don’t engage.” You ask, standing up. And you look at Wanda. “Wanda, stop her!”
“Stop me?” Kara yells in shock and Wanda quickly separates your momma from Vision with her powers. She involves your momma with it, making it impossible for Kara to move.
“What are you doing?” You ask Kara, who just looks at you so in shock like she doesn’t know what to say.
“He-He was shooting you with a… With that thing on his head!” Kara justifies herself and looks at Wanda on the other side of the room. “And she’s doing whatever this is.”
“He was helping me!” You look at Wanda again, giving her a little nod. “She’s going to put you down if you promise not to engage again.”
“I-I’m-Ugh! Fine!” Kara reluctantly agrees and Wanda puts her down.
“Guys, these are my moms!” You point to Lena and Kara on the other side of the room, and run to them so you can hug them. Kara holds you tight, while staring at the heroes on the other side of the room. “Ok, momma.” You try to get out of her embrace. “Momma, can I hug mom now?”
“Oh. Ok.” Kara finally let’s go, and you move to Lena’s arms. But you see Kara is still in a defensive position, ready to get into a fight at any moment.
“Hey.” You hold her arm. “You can relax now. They’re my friends.”
“No, they’re not. They kidnapped you.” She says without taking her eyes from them.
“We didn’t, actually. She decided to stay for the battle.” Vision corrects her, and you see that Kara is not buying into it.
“What battle?” Lena asks, with furrowed brows.
“Long story! Anyways, you guys are here now.” You look at the device on Lena’s hand. “And that means we can leave.”
“Aren’t you going to say goodbye?” Wanda asks. “To everyone else?”
“Yeah. Let’s go outside.” You guide your moms out of the compound, and look inside with a smile on your face. You know this was your house for less than two days, but still felt pretty good to be here. You press the comm on your ear. “Smart mouth to Mister Playboy.”
“You better have left me some donuts, kid.” You listen coming from your comm, and you smile harder. Well, if donuts are for geniuses who saved the world, he certainly deserves some.
“Come outside.” You ask, and it doesn’t take long for him to show up at the front door. He walks towards you, well-aware of what these two women behind you mean.
“So, you’re leaving.” He says matter-of-factly, and you nod. “Finally.” You smile and roll your eyes. He comes closer and raises his hand at you. You shake it. “We had a good run.”
“We did.” You agree, because he is right. All the bantering, the jokes, him having your back, picking you up while you fell from the sky. It was a pretty good run.
“Ok. I don’t do sentimental.” He says, but still looks at Lena and Kara, nodding like he’s saying hello. “Just make sure she knows that she helped. What she did was very brave, and also somehow very stupid-” He raises his eyebrow at you. “But mostly very brave for someone her age. I’ll be sure to keep in touch whenever I need a little hand here.”
“Maybe with a grown up this time?” Kara says and he waves her off with his hand.
“Nah. I like the kid.” You can see a tiny smile in the corner of his mouth, but he fakes it. So, you hold back your smile too. “Did you guys bring your own portal, or should I call Strange to send you back home?”
Lena shows him their portal, and he agrees with his head.
“Guess you weren’t lying about L Corp.” He says, looking at the logo on the device, and you agree with you head. “Then, expect a bill coming soon.”
“Bye, Mister Playboy.” You wave goodbye and he shuffles pretending to be unbothered by you leaving.
“Bye, smart mouth.”
Lena turns on the device and you’re almost walking through the portal, when you see the rest of the team showing up.
“You forgot to say goodbye to some people.” Stark says and your smile grows wider, looking at everyone in front of you.
Kara looks shocked by the amount of people in the garden, looking sad about you leaving. Her hand goes to your shoulder, protectively and almost scared they’ll take you from her again.
“Hey, kindergarten.” Bucky is the first one to talk. “Thanks for the help out there.”
“Nice work there, kid.” Cap comes forward with his hand raised so you can shake it. You do so. “Thanks for the back-up.” He smiles softly, baby blue eyes turn to your moms, assuring. “Great kid! You should be proud.”
“Forgive me about the kidnapping part.” Strange comes forward and you smile down, while Kara throws a possessive arm around your shoulder, and Lena holds your arm, which makes you smile harder. “She was of great assistance. She fits right in.”
“Superkid, daughter of Kara and Lena, good fight out there. If you're ever in Asgard, come join me for a beer.” Is Thor who talks next.
“Thor, she is a kid.” Banner says, making you, and some other Avengers, laugh.
“Nonsense.” It’s Thor’s answer. “This girl can lift Mjölnir when none of you were worthy enough to do it. For a mighty warrior like her there shouldn’t exist Midgardian rules like such. She can have a beer if she wants to.”
You look up to Lena who discreetly shakes her head in denial to you. You shrug.
“It was nice meeting you, science pal.” Banner says and you smile at that. “Thank you for the lesson about the multiverse.”
“Thank you for the lesson about nuclear physics.”
“Sorry about the gunshot, kid. Nice fight.” Natasha says and you agree with your head. “Your Earth is lucky to have you.”
“Thanks for making fun of Bucky.” Sam fist bumps you and smiles, listening to Bucky mumble something like ‘I made fun of her’. “Oh yeah, and for the fight thing.”
“Here.” Wanda sneaks in something in your pocket and smiles at you. “It’s what you’re thinking.”
“I’ll see you around. Around the grey area, maybe.” You say, hugging her and she hugs you tight for a minute, before letting you go.
“And we’ll survive together.” She agrees with her head, and smiles at you.
“Is that everyone?” Kara asks, looking at you and you agree with your head when you don’t see Vision.
“Excuse me, Superkid. I would like to personally thank you for your help and care towards Wanda.” He appears before you, coming from out of nowhere.
“Vis.” Wanda says, blushing a little.
“I hope we fight together again. It’s always refreshing seeing someone genuinely good in the world.” He says and it’s your time to blush. “I won’t keep talking longer. Your moms must be eager to take you home, as we are to keep you here.”
“She’s going home.” Kara’s firm grip tights around your shoulder.
“Unless she wants to stay.” You hear Stark’s voice and you smile, knowing he is absolutely messing with your moms. “There’s always space in the compound, if she agrees not to break it. And as Strange said, she fits right in.”
“We thank you for your offer.” Lena answers, slowly pulling you and Kara back to the portal. “But we have to go now.”
“Of course. Of course.” Thor says, winking at you. “You obviously can’t stay here, but Asgard waits for you. You call, and I’ll send Bifrost for you.”
“Ok! Well, I don’t know what Bifrost is, but she is not traveling to another planet. Say goodbye now, baby.” Kara asks, squeezing your shoulder and slowly walking backwards.
“Bye ‘the Avengers’! Whenever you guys need a hand, Cape-guy knows where to find me and Thor can send Bifrost! I hope we meet again soon.” You smile, and Kara pulls you into the portal before anyone else says anything.
“Oooof, that was close!” Kara says, after Lena closes the portal behind you, and she looks around to make sure you three are alone. “I actually thought they would keep you right there.” She breathes in relief, when she realizes there’s no reason to worry anymore because you are home. She hugs you tight and Lena joins in the hug too. You three stay there for a few good minutes, until you make motion to move.
“No, no.” Kara says still pulling you in. “We’re still hugging. You’re not going anywhere.”
“Momma.” You look up to her face. “I’m not going anywhere.” You assure her and she lets you go slowly.
“I’m sorry little one, but you made a lot of friends.” She reaches for your cheek, stroking it gently. “And they seem to like you very much. And all of them were so impressed by you that they wanted you to stay.”
“I know!” You beam excitedly. “Even Mister Stark.”
“Yeah!” Kara agrees looking at Lena from the corner of her eyes, and she whispers to your mom. “Who’s Mister Stark?”
“Isn’t he the one that said you did something very brave, but also very stupid?” Lena asks and you open a forced smile at them. They raise their eyebrows at you.
“I may have gone to outer space and kicked off a bomb that would close the connection between the worlds, and I almost died while doing so.” You say with the same forced smile, while they realize what you just said.
“You may have or you did?” Lena raises an eyebrow at you.
“I may have did.” You shrug. “But I didn’t die!”
“You don’t say.” Lena pulls you in for a hug again, kissing your forehead. “Is there a way for you and your momma to save the world without putting yourselves in dying conditions?”
“No.” You and Kara say at the same time, earning a sigh from Lena.
“I’m sorry for making you guys worried. They needed help in this battle and I, well, I helped. And also, Mister Strange said he left a card?” You ask and they agree with their heads.
“It could’ve been more direct, though.” Lena says and she and Kara exchange a look. “But he did leave the directions, at least.”
“So, tell us everything. About everyone. I can’t wait to hear about your adventures.” Kara asks excitedly and you smile feeling the same way.
“Sure. But can it be over pizza?” You raise an eyebrow at them, and they agree with their heads.
You look down to what’s in your pocket, and you pick it up to look at the picture of you and Wanda making funny faces. Next to it a sticky note signed by Mister Playboy himself. You can’t help a wide smile that comes to your lips. Good. It wasn't a very elaborated induced dream from an imp of the fifth dimension. It was real. All of that. The fight, the jokes, the friends. Everything was real.
“Ready, kid?” Kara asks and you put both items back in your pocket.
“I am now.”

Same (5/8)
Fandoms: Marvel, MCU, The Avengers, Doctor Strange, BBC Sherlock
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes x Fem!Reader x Doctor Strange
Summary: In this chapter, we head back in time a bit to see Stephen and Reader meet, and what happened right before Reader met Sherlock.
Warnings: A bit of angst, but I think that’s it
Author’s Note: Head’s up, I’m not done writing all the parts to this. So if you’re following this story, there might be more or less chapters than eight, and there might be changes in chapters after I post them.

*******
“Hello.”
Stephen spotted you as he descended the main staircase in New York’s Sanctum Sanctorum. “I’m sorry, I think you have the wrong address.”
You were standing in the foyer. “Nope. I know where I am. You’re Dr. Strange.”
He nodded. “That I am. May I ask who you are?”
“Y/n L/n,” you happily answered. “Well, I’m better known as S/h/n.”
Strange reached the bottom of the stairs. He narrowed his eyes. “What do the Avengers want?”
You shrugged. “We’ve heard about you. We know you’re powerful, and we think you’d be able to do more good as a member of the team. What do you think?”
“Uh, I’m good,” he turned you down with a bit of a sarcastic tone. “I do all the good I want to here.”
“Okay,” you chuckled. “It was nice meeting you. I hope we see each other again. Have a lovely day!” You have a cheerful goodbye, and left a business card on a table on your way out.
The next time you saw Strange, ironically, it was after he joined the Avengers. “Look who it is,” you smiled as you entered his quarters at the Avengers Compound. He still lived at the Sanctorum, but Tony still made a place for him at the compound. Because of course he did.
Steven was still unpacking. He glanced up at you, “I will be splitting my time between here and the Sanctorum.” He sighed, “I realized I could help more here.”
“Good,” you giggled. “My room’s down the hall.” You gestured to your right. “Third door on the left...Welcome to the Avengers, Dr. Strange.”
A couple months passed, and Stephen settled into the routine of working at the Sanctum Santorum during the weekdays and visiting the Avengers Compound on the weekends. The doctor was also on call for any disaster the Avengers might need him for.
Whenever Strange was at the compound, it was a sure thing that you’d be with him. The two of you had quickly become inseparable. You often asked him questions about his abilities. “So there really are infinite dimensions out there? Like there are infinite yous and infinite mes?” You had one of his pillows in your lap, and you were sitting criss-cross on his bed.
Steven was sitting in a chair by a window. His right ankle was resting on his left knee. A book was open in his lap. Strange casually answered you, “Yep.” He then inhaled deeply, thinking. “I could show you some...other universes, that is.”
“Wait, really?” Your eyes went wide. You set the pillow down next to you. You were already ready to go.
Strange chuckled. “Yes.”
“Can we...go now?”
He looked at you. “Now?”
“Yeah...”
Steven sighed, “Sure.”
“Oh my god! Yes! This is so exciting!” You jumped out of his bed as you giggled.
Strange chuckled at your antics. “Alright. Stay right next to me. Usually, travelling between dimensions can be very jarring. I’m going to use a method I discovered, where we travel using the ring portals.”
“Is this called ‘The Strange Method’?” You tried your absolute best to hide your smile. You failed miserably.
He gave you the side eye. “Are you done?”
“Yep,” you chuckled. You saw that Stephen was smirking a little, too.
“Alright.” He opened a portal. “Shall we?”
Steven showed you several dimensions. Some were normal-looking, with only a few differences from your reality; and others were down-right bizarre with bright matter and creatures you did not recognize.
While the two of you were in one of the visually familiar dimensions, Strange got a call from Wong. He was needed back at the Sanctum Santorum for something.
“That phone works in different dimensions?” you questioned in a laughing tone.
Stephen laughed, too. You had gotten him to loosen up quite a lot that day.
He replied, “Be nice. Me, Tony, and Bruce spent weeks getting this phone to work.”
“I see...Stephen, could I stay here while you go deal with that?”
That surprised him. “You want to stay here?”
“Just to have lunch. It’d be pretty cool to eat in another dimension. This one has the same food and money, right?”
Strange nodded. “Most things are the same here. Are you sure, Y/n?”
“I am. Are you okay with this?”
A bit distracted, Stephen repeated your words, “I am...Okay, I’ll come back in two hours exactly.”
“I’ll meet you right here,” you promised.
Stephen was still a little hesitant. “You’ll...stay safe?”
“Of course. Do you know a safer person?” you asked, then remembered exactly who you were. “Bad example. I’ll be fine, Strange.”
He sighed heavily. “Okay. Two hours.”
“Two hours. I’ll buy you lunch, too,” you smiled.
He still seemed unsure.
“I’ll be fine,” you told him again.
Stephen searched your eyes. “Okay.” He leaned forward to kiss your forehead. “I’ll see you in two hours.” He stepped away from you and ducked down an alleyway.
Two hours. That was all it took for everything to change. You met Strange where the two of you agreed. It was so hard not to spill all your thoughts to Stephen once you saw him again.
“Hey, Stephen,” you greeted him quietly, “How’s the Sanctum?”
“Fine,” he replied, “Wong was just worried about something in Hong Kong. It was nothing. We fixed it.”
“Good,” you nodded.
Strange furrowed his brow. “Did something happen?”
You had to physically push your answer out. “Yes.”
Immediately, he was worried. “Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine.” You put a hand on his arm. “I promise, okay? It’s just...I think I want to stay here?”
He resteadied his feet. “What?”
“I know it’s sudden.”
“You’ve only been here two hours!”
“I know! I know...Let me show you something.”
You walked Strange a couple streets over, to Baker Street. There, the two of you spotted two men entering address 221. One of them looked exactly like Stephen would without a beard.
“Would you look at that,” Strange commented on the sight.
You explained, “That’s Sherlock Holmes, and his friend there is John Watson.”
“Watson looks exactly like Agent Ross from the CIA,” Strange pointed out.
Your eyes widened. “Oh my god, he does!”
Strange wondered, “Why did you take me here?”
“Those two men want me to move into the spare apartment in that building,” you revealed.
Strange was understandably confused. “And you’re just going to do that?”
“Well...if I’m being honest, I’ve been thinking about leaving the compound for a while now,” you admitted, “And Sherlock...”
“What about Sherlock?”
You sighed, “He’s an extremely clever man, a detective. Stubborn, too. Sherlock convinced me to go along on a case with them when I helped them chase down a suspect. We solved that case within the hour. Sherlock asked me if I wanted to partner with them officially.”
Strange wasn’t convinced. “What is it about Sherlock specifically though?” he questioned roughly.
You ducked your head and rolled your lips. “I guess I form attachments too easily. Even to people who don’t feel the same. I mean...that’s what happened with you.” You swallowed at your confession. You turned your gaze back up Stephen.
The doctor almost looked hurt. “Is that why you want to leave? Because of me?”
“What? Like you could ever feel the same way.” You laughed bitterly, but then you caught his eye again. What you saw made your heart drop.
So many emotions were hidden in his eyes-too many emotions.
“Oh, Stephen...” You placed a hand on his cheek. Your voice was raw. It was too late for the two of you then. “ I think I need to go.”
He put his own hand on yours to hold it in place.
“Tell the others I’ll come back once a month to check on things. Never come to the flat, okay? If Sherlock saw you...I don’t know what that would do to him...”
Strange smirked, “Flat? Going British on me already?”
“Maybe I am,” you chuckled, “And I’m sorry I didn’t grab you lunch.”
Stephen joked, “I’ll hold that against you forever.”
“If it’s any consolation, I didn’t have lunch either,” you chuckled.
He laughed a little more. “I’ll come back for you on the 30th so you can visit the team.”
You nodded, then leaned forward to kiss him on the cheek. “Goodbye, Strange.”
“I’ll see you soon, Y/n.”

The frantic rainbow lights disappeared and you stumbled to get your balance on the solid ground that you were thrown on. Stephen was there to help steady you, at hand at your waist with the other at the ready to prevent you from falling over. You wondered why you all could not just travel here through a slingring portal. But Thor insisted you take the Bifrost. To 'get the experience' he had said before he called for it. The knowing smirk on Stephen's face in that moment told you that you might regret this.
In little time you found yourself in Asgard.
Stephen would come here occasionally to discuss relations between mystical threats and threats to the realms. You came along this time. You wanted to see Asgard, Thor wanted you to come along, but Stephen was hesitant to let you come. He told you that someone needed to watch over the Sanctum while he was gone, you made Wong do it instead. He said Asgardian magic is hard to understand, you reminded him that you were advanced now in your mystical studies that you could keep up. He said that it would only be a night or two, you said that you did not want him to leave you for a night or two.
You won and had convinced him. So now you were at the entrance of Asgard, having just experienced being magically thrown across the universe with possible whiplash and your lunch threatening to come up.
Thor, holding his beloved hammer in one hand, looked over at you. "What did you think, Lady (Y/N)?"
"I think I'm gonna be sick." You mumbled.
Stephen patted you on the back, "You'll be alright." There was a slightly amused tone in his voice and that gave you a sudden urge to kick him in the shins.
You had ended up in the middle of a room that was golden and shaped like a dome. There were circular patterns on the walls and in the centre golden steps that lead to a little pedestal that held a sword. Someone was holding that sword, and you were introduced to Heimdall who was the protector of the Bifrost. He bowed to you like you were important and you returned with a bow of your head. Just outside the room, you could see the bridge sparkling with the same rainbow colours as the way you had gotten here. Beyond the long bridge was the castle in the distance.
Thor gestured for you to follow him, so you fell into step beside Stephen as you exited the small structure. You were now walking on the Bifrost bridge. The view you saw before you was absolutely breathtaking. The glittering bridge was just the beginning. Underneath it was a roaring river of clear water. The palace was beautiful, the structure standing as tall as the mountains in its background. The buildings of the surrounding city were sparkling everywhere. You have seen so much since becoming a sorcerer, but this was something else.
Stephen saw the smile on your face and the look of awe in your eyes. This made him smile, and he was suddenly glad he brought you here. He always loved showing you new things, fueling your curiosity and experiencing new things with you. But there was a little worry in the back of his mind that would not go away.
There was one reason, above all others, that Stephen did not want to bring you along.
Loki would be here.
He hated the way he looked at you. He hated his very being because of it. And the knowledge that you and him would be in the same place made his blood boil. Ever since that time Loki showed his face in New York and he had to take him to prevent him from doing anything, and he looked at you up and down like that, he disliked the god so much. And he was so nice to you, and you were nice to him. Whenever Stephen went to Asgard and ran into Loki, he would ask about you. Stephen did not like it.
But your reaction to the city and planet, and you had just gotten here, made the worry go away a little. He would be by your side anyways, to keep Loki away if he was going to try anything. He would throw the cloak around your shoulders to have it hide you away if he needed to. But at the moment he focused on being with you for your first impressions of Asgaurd and not worry too much.
~~~
You were awoken by a light touch and someone softly shaking you awake. The sleepiness was not shaken however, you groaning in protest as you cuddled up even more into the covers of the soft, silken sheets and thick comforter.
There was a chuckle and you new who it was from the deep tone. You lazily opened your eyes and saw Stephen looking down at you, already dressed and seeming wide awake. The sun was shining through the large window with the beautiful view of Asgard. It looked like the world was awake, but you were not ready to drag yourself out of bed.
"I have the first meeting this morning. Thought maybe you would want to come along but looks like you don't want to get out of bed."
You simply let out another sleepy groan.
Then you did a double take, noticing what he was wearing.
He had on his Cloak of Levitation, but underneath that was something different. He had swapped out his regular blue robes for an Asgardian version. It was made in a different style, but it still resembled his old robes. The blue was more rich in its colour, more royal and regal looking. The wrappings were lined with a golden fabric on the edges, it went really well with his signature red and blue. It was a very stark contrast between the one you were used to seeing him wear verse this new one. But you loved it. Seeing all the beautiful clothing everyone wore here made you happy, and seeing a piece like that on Stephen was astonishing.
"You like it?" He caught you staring.
"I love it," You said groggily but happily, running a hand through your hair and sitting up in the bed.
Straightening the cloak over his shoulders, he leaned over and kissed you on your forehead. "I should head to the meeting now. We'll be done before lunch." With that he left your shared guest room, closing the large door behind him.
You wanted to fall back asleep, but it did not overtake you. It was one of those moments where you just laid there cause you were already awaken. But you wanted to sleep. But you couldn't. So you stared out the window, looking out at the pretty mountain peaks and wondering what that first meeting was about. You also wondered about the other things you were going to do while on this foreign planet. Tour of the scenery, trying more of that delicious food (you were dying over it last night at dinner), learning about its history. Maybe you would learn a little Asgardian magic while you were here. The idea of that gave you a little excitement.
A little while later, while you were lost in a daydream, there was a knock on your door. You got up and grabbed a silk robe that was on a chair by your bedside. "Come in," You said, wrapping and tying the robe over yourself. Two women came through the door, maids of the castle you assumed.
One was holding a pile of neatly folded up fabric in her hands. You got excited.
The two introduced themselves and said that Frigga sent them to wake you and get you ready for breakfast. Since the meeting was going on between Odin, Stephen, Thor, and a few others, Frigga decided to have a little breakfast gathering for you. The women were so sweet, making small talk and asking you about Midgard as they prepared you a hot bath and did your hair in a fancy braid down your back that resembled a French braid.
The moment you were anticipating soon came, and they helped you get dressed.
The dress you were presented with was a deep forest green with golden embellishments. Silk fabric sat in long layers down the skirt, trailing out longer at the back. The neckline did not dive too deep down your chest, just enough for subtlety. The short sleeves clung to the sides of your upper arms, shoulders exposed above the folded layers. The gold piece wrapped around your waist as a belt helped bring out the details. The length slightly dragged on the floor, looking elegant and glittering in the sunlight. You felt like an Asgardian princess wearing it.
It reminded you of someone. Then you wondered who had picked it...
One of the girls topped off your look with a golden pin in your hair, shaped like a flourishing lily tucked above your right ear. The two admired their work and you thanked them from the bottom of your heart. The girl you saw in the mirror was so different then yourself. You saw an Asgardian goddess, not a sorcerer.
You asked them for directions after thanking them a second time, knowing you would get lost in the giant palace. They told you where to go, curtsying to you as a goodbye. You did it back, pulling up the fabric of your dress to feel a little more into it. With one last look in the mirror, and pulling your shoulders back, you made your way out of your guest room and down the correct hallway.
You were directed to a drawing room that was down a tall staircase and a few doors to your left. There was a guard in front of the wooden door, but upon seeing you he bowed and held it open for you. The room inside was not too large, but the big open window gave the impression that it was. Decorated just as nicely as the rest of the place, this room was no exception to the royal aspect and medieval aesthetic to the palace. There were a few comfy chairs surrounding a low table, where Frigga greeted you with a warm smile.
Sitting in the seat beside her was Loki. You had not seen him yesterday when you had arrived. This made you wonder why he had not said hello to you then along with everyone else. He also was not at dinner last night. Weird. He held a tea cup in one hand as he leaned back in his chair, cradling its saucer in the other hand. Seeing Loki sipping tea from a pretty cup with his pinky finger jutting out was a different sight, a contrast to his darker persona you knew was hidden beneath.
You hugged Frigga, which she insisted on, and you sat down with them. You all chatted over breakfast and you sparking up conversation with Loki was a little awkward at first, but once you opened up a little it flowed easily. The tea was amazing and the little pastries laid out on nice platters were absolutely delicious. Frigga asked about your magic skills, and you both began to exchange stories about magic. You had a great time and you were glad you got out of bed for this. Soon Frigga had some business to take care of and had to cut this little gathering short.
When you left Loki caught up with you in the hallway.
"It has been a while since we have seen each other, Lady (Y/N)."
A lot of the people here were calling you that. And people you did not even know knew your name, which always kind of threw you off for a second or two. That told you that you were known here, from either Thor or Stephen talking. The whole 'Lady' thing was out of respect you assumed, and you did not mind.
"It has." You replied as you both walked down the hall together, "It was nice to see you again, Loki."
"How are you liking it here?" He asked with a smile.
"I love it!" You beamed, "It's beautiful, the food is amazing," You then gestured down to the dress you were wearing, "and the clothes are stunning."
He chuckled, "Green looks good on you."
"Easy for you to say, it's your favorite."
"No no," He sputtered, and you thought he looked a little...flustered? "You genuinely look beautiful in green."
A little heat ran up to your cheeks. "Oh, thanks."
There was a balcony up ahead where you saw sunlight streaming in. You picked up your pace to go look out of it, Loki right behind you. It was overlooking the back of the castle, where you could see a beautiful garden down below, before the landscape stretched out into more of the city and the mountains beyond.
For a second or two you wondered what was past those peaks. If the planet simply stopped there, or if there were forests or towns or lakes or anything else that you wanted to discover. This whole place was full of beauty and the idea that there was a possibility for more was just a little overwhelming. But you loved it.
"I'm happy you like my home." Loki leaned on the railing, looking out at the city with you. "Although it was not always considered my home."
"What do you mean?" You asked. You noticed a sadness in his eyes now.
"You know my history."
At that moment you realized what that sadness was. Probably memories flashing through his mind. You did know his history. Lied to all his life, being overcome by the sadness and anger and wrath and desire for revenge. You knew what that lead to, the New York event and everything that came with and after that. Right now, he was allowed freedom back in his home for 'rehabilitation' of sorts, offered a second chance. Not knowing what that was like, you could not relate, but you knew he had gone through pain. It was even painful to see it in his eyes.
"So do you consider it home again?" It was all you could think of to say.
He shook his head in a light nod after a second to think, the look on his features exchanged for one with a small smile. A weird thought crossed your mind, you had not seen Loki smile this much before.
The two of you stood there looking out at the city below, watching the people of Asgard go about their days. It was a calm silence that fell, not a line of tension or heavy weight of awkwardness at all. Just a calm.
"Hey," Loki said out of nowhere, and you turned your head to look at him as he spoke up, "your outfit is missing something."
You raised an eyebrow at him, coming off as almost sarcastic. "Oh?"
A smirk sneaked up on his face and you knew he was going to do something. You braced yourself for whatever it might be, good or bad or a mix of both. With a flicker of green magic, an object materialized in his hands. It was his helmet, shining gold with the curved horns. It was so polished that you could see your reflection in it.
Then he was holding it out to you.
"Oh no, I couldn't."
Loki cocked his head to the side and shrugged with a smile, again with the smiling, "Why not?"
A pause, you did not say anything because you had nothing to say. Something about it was very tempting, but it also felt forbidden. Like if you were to put it on you would be overcome by some spell or just a wave of emotion. Or just the thought of wearing something that was considered 'crown-like', because you were not royalty or a goddess or someone with high power. But it was all calling your name, with a glint of gold.
"I insist." Loki added.
After another moment's pause, you let him put the helmet into your hands. It was lighter than you expected it to be, with pure gold usually being heavy. Probably not made of pure gold then. Just a trick of the eye.
Without waiting anymore, you slowly rested the helmet on your head. Right away you noticed it was a little big on you. It was not made to fit your head, obviously, but you felt something while wearing it. Maybe honour, or pride. Or maybe just pure 'slyness', the same energy that Loki often channeled.
"Looks good." Loki beamed.
"I'm dressed like you," You snapped jokingly, "that's why you think I look good."
He laughed and you did too. Maybe I should wear more green, you told yourself.
As you both continued to watch the city below and make small talk, from down the hall you could hear footsteps. Maybe guards or other people of the palace, you presumed. But as they approached, they got louder. And they got quicker. Heavy boots, you deduced. But suddenly they stopped.
"Nice view."
You nearly jumped out of your skin as Stephen had suddenly appeared right beside you. So those were his footsteps. You had not expected him to be out of the meeting for another while, but there he was. Him and that damn short-range teleportation spell he just loved to use for some reason. There were too many instances of him appearing out of nowhere back home and it resulted to you being more jumpy nowadays. He had positioned himself between you and Loki you noticed. Loki looked just as surprised as you were, the trickster being tricked.
"Where did you come from?" Loki scowled
"Down the hall." He answered blankly. You stiffed a laugh at his demeanor, sly and confident, when realization hit you that those were aspects of his jealous and protective side coming out. Oh boy, here we go...
"I'm surprised you're out of bed," Stephen looked down at you with a raised eyebrow, which made you chuckle. You saw a tiny twitch in the corner of his eye, and something told you that it had something to do with the god opposite you and the headpiece you were now wearing.
Stephen reached forward and gently lifted the gold helmet off your head, care in his eyes and shaking fingers. Once it was off, he (not so subtly) aggressively threw it at Loki's chest who stumbled to catch it, all trace of gentleness gone. Loki gave him a mock offended look, but Stephen's own hard expression was not phased. Your eyes quickly darted between the two, seeing the tension that had now thickened the air.
"Should't you be at a meeting with Odin?" Loki said. You noticed he did not say my father.
"Oh we finished early," Stephen replied in a light tone, trying to one-up the god while bringing out his ego's confidence. "we're having another one this evening however."
Loki looked like he did not know what to do, which made an amused smile spread across the sorcerer's face. Then he straight up asked, monotone voice dropping to sound flat and serious, "Why was she wearing your helmet?"
"Because...it matches her outfit?" The god struggled to find and answer only to come up with a question instead.
"Yea, sure." Stephen mumbled, "Wonder where she got that outfit."
"Some palace maids dressed me," You chimed in, but it felt like you were invisible at the moment. There was too much testosterone in the air that was covering your existence, which made you roll your eyes.
"Green and gold are nice colours." Loki said while trying to sound convincing and innocent.
"Coincidence she's wearing them?" Stephen shot back, suspicious.
"I had nothing to do with it, Strange."
"Oh sure."
"Oh my god." You slumped against the railing and rested your face in your hands. The two went on to snap at each other and argue for a little, but it felt like an eternity. after a period of you just standing there listening helplessly, the heat started to die down.
"If you'll excuse me, Sorcerer Supreme," Loki enunciated Stephen's title like it was a forbidden word, "I should be headed to attend some business."
He tried to walk off but Stephen cut him off, "Oh what kind of business do you have to do?"
"Business that does not require a mere mortal sorcerer to stick his clever nose into!"
"Well, it looked like it was no more important then taking my girl somewhere to be alone with!" The low rumble in his voice made it a little more threatening.
With that, Loki rolled his eyes so hard it looked like it hurt. And he walked away without another word, flipping his helmet over in his hands before jabbing it on his head with visible frustration.
"Well that was a show." You said, having stood there watching the whole thing like it was a theater drama.
Stephen shrugged, "I try my best."
You laughed, "Your jealousy gets to your head."
His facial expression recoiled, "Do you enjoy my jealousy? Do you enjoy his company?"
Your jaw dropped for a second in offence, "God no, why would I enjoy making you upset?" At that you shrugged, "Although it can be amusing."
You felt a pinch on your arm which made you let out a sound of distress. Stephen chuckled, and wrapped an arm around you lovingly as you leaned against the balcony railing together.
"He was just trying to be nice, Stephen."
"I don't think he can be 'nice',"
"He was nice at breakfast,"
"You had breakfast with him?"
"I was with Frigga. He just so happened to be there."
"Okay fine."
You laughed and he gently kissed the top of your head. After a moment of quiet and peace, you felt his softly shaking hand fiddle with the sleeve of your dress, "You look very beautiful."
Blushing, you looked up at him with admiring eyes. His expression mirrored yours. He was still wearing the new robes you last saw him in, the gold linings glittering in the Asgardian sunlight. You were about to say the same thing he said to you, when his expression changed. It was his thinking face.
"What?"
Stephen must have realized something as raised an eyebrow, "There's magic in your dress."
Before you could react, Stephen waved his hand in a quick motion. Suddenly, green waves of energy flowed out of the fabric of your clothes. But they soon changed to orange sparks, Asgardian magic to Earth sorcerer magic. As they flowed over you, the colour of your dress changed. The green was replaced with blue and the gold was replaced with red. There was still a little gold here and there, lining the edges in a familiar way.
"I knew it. He must have tampered with it." Stephen grumbled.
Now your dress mimicked the colours of Stephen's clothes, their original colours. You laughed a little, the person who made your clothes thought they were clever. But also Loki thought he was clever to change it to his colours. You wondered when and why he did that, but you shrugged it off and instead admired the dress in this new perspective.
"That's better." Stephen said, a little proud of himself for some reason.
"I like this more." You giggled.
"Me too."
The dress felt lighter and the fabric shined a little more. It was made for you, perfectly tailored to your body and with the perfect colours to match. It was perfect. And it reminded you of him so it made it all the more special. If they would not let you keep it, then you are just going to bring it home with you anyways.
"Well since the meeting was cut off early, lunch is not for another half an hour or so. What should we do till then?"
"Well~" You drew out, a smile creeping up your face, "I was looking at the gardens from here and I wouldn't mind going to see them."
Stephen smiled. He offered his elbow to you, "Then do you care for romantic stroll, Lady (Y/N)?" He put on his best English accent (which was surprisingly flawless), his naturally low voice making it all the more amusing.
With a giggle, you took his arm. Together you made your way through the castle in a swish of red and blue fabrics.
"Although," Stephen started as you both made your way down the last set of stairs that lead to the ground floor, "you did look good in the green. Even though I hate to admit it."
"Hate to admit it?" You looked up at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Well it was Loki's trickery, but you look good regardless. As always."
(read on AO3)
Day two of the Doctorrose Fic Marathon! Based on the prompt "holding hands".
“I want a job.” He announced one morning. Rose was hovering over a mirror as she lined her eyes with dark pencil. “I was thinking Torchwood.”
She stayed silent, her eyebrows furrowing as she rubbed at the mascara that had fallen under her eyes. His feet lead him to stand behind her, and he watched his nervous face reflected back at him.
“Is that okay?”
She nodded at herself in the mirror and straightened. “Talk to Pete.”
“Well, actually, I was thinking your department sounded more interesting.”
She turned and stared at him flatly.
“Tell me what my department does.”
“Alien…stuff.” He replied, rubbing at the back of his neck.
She brushed past him and his hands snatched at her wrists, quickly dropping them at the look on her face.
“Rose, please.”
Her eyes flicked to the clock behind him. “I’m running late.”
“Tomorrow, then?” He asked eagerly. She nodded.
“Tomorrow, yeah. Sure.”
The door banged behind her, and he collapsed onto the bed and let the silence taunt him once more.
It was nice, being stuck in one place, nice in a way that made his muscles tense and his fingers curl. The next-door neighbours always smiled at him when he put out the bins, and the girl at the coffee shop didn’t even ask for his order anymore, just thrust it at him with her usual dreary rage. The kids on the street all knew his name – well, one of his names – and called out to him to play football with them or help them with their homework.
Rose enjoyed it less. Everywhere she went, whispers followed. People eyed her nervously in the supermarket, would press themselves against the shelves as though she was an elephant thundering past, rather than a small human woman trying to buy milk.
Everyone he asked about it had just shrugged. Rose herself had ignored him entirely, but whether that was due to the question itself or just his presence was unclear.
He had spent three long years away from her, yet he had never missed her quite like this. She slept beside him—apparently, the only proof he had was slightly creased sheets and makeup stains on her pillows—and then would disappear with a cursory “Torchwood” thrown over her shoulder. Her phone, that was literally always in her hand, was apparently incapable of picking up his calls or answering texts, and his own only mocked him with read receipts.
He had thought she would understand this new him. He had changed his entire body before, and it was less than a day after that she had been holding his hand and snuggling into his side. It had been four months now, in this universe, four long and agonising months of sitting indoors and waiting for something to happen. Every time he looked at her, he hoped for some flood of recognition, a moment where she realised he was still him and so they ought to just get on with it.
Every day that passed brought less and less hope that that would ever happen.
“Wake up. Hey, wake up.”
He opened his eyes, blinking against the bleariness of sleep. A fan of blonde hair tickled the sides of his face, and brown eyes watched him blankly.
“Rose?”
“Come on.”
He sat up, stretching out his arms and working the kinks out of his back. The windows were dark, and the traffic outside was only loud, rather than its usual deafening. Rose folded her arms and stared down at him, and he fidgeted slightly under her gaze.
“What’s going on?”
“You wanted Torchwood. It’s time for Torchwood. Put these on,” she ordered, throwing some boots on the floor. “We need to go.”
“Right.” He said, limbs failing in his haste to stand. The room flickered with darkness for a second and he cursed stupid human blood pressure. “Where are we going?”
“Coast.”
“Which coast?” He asked, wrestling the boots onto his bare feet. Rose rolled her eyes and threw a jacket at him.
“The one next to the sea. Now come on, hurry up.”
He thrust his arms into the jacket and hurried after her retreating form. A blast of cold hair hit him like a bucket of cold water, and he wrapped his arms tightly around his sides as he shuffled forwards. Rose’s phone was at her ear, her voice hard as she barked out her instructions.
“Solomon street. Now.”
A green SUV whizzed round the corner, skidding to a stop perfectly in front of them. A young man stepped out, ginger and pale, and immediately saluted.
“Ma’am.”
“Thank you, Stewart. I’ll take it from here.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
The boy turned and marched down the street, picking his direction seemingly at random. Rose jumped into the drivers’ side and looked at him impatiently. He gawked at her through the window.
“What’s going on?”
“Later. C’mon.”
Her hands were white around the steering wheel, and he stared at them, feeling dread settle in his gut. The engine started up with a groan and he quickly ran around and jumped into the passenger side.
Before he could even reach for his seatbelt, the car lurched into action, and his head slapped into the headrest.
“Sorry,” Rose mumbled, her eyes not moving from the road as the speed only went up. He nodded frantically, quickly securing himself and then gripping tightly at the edges of the chair.
“Where are we going?” He asked, voice unnaturally high. For a moment, he thought he saw her mouth curve upwards, but within a second it was back to the same flat mask.
“Where do you think?” She scoffed. “Where else? Bad Wolf Bay.”
Their journey to Norway passed in heavy silences that were only occasionally broken by questions that Rose only ignored. He fiddled relentlessly with the cuffs of his shirt and tried to calm his stupid single heart, that pounded and screamed in his ears.
This, more than anything else, was what he hated about this world – he was never in control here, never understood what he should be doing, or what he should say. He never used to care about that stuff before. His life had always been spontaneous, he had prided himself on it in some sick, sad way, but all he could long for now was a sliver of certainty.
Was this how she would finally dump him? On the very beach they were headed towards, she had kissed him, and at the time it had felt like a hello. It seemed now it had been more of a goodbye. He had always known Rose, could always reliably understand what was going through her head at any given point. The woman he had been left with seemed like someone else entirely. A stranger, with the face of the woman he loved the most.
His whole species had died – all his family, all his friends. But this loneliness was far more insidious and hung heavily in the space between his bones.
“We’re here,” Rose said, and he startled. She jumped out of her seat and walked round to his door, flinging it open. He watched her eyes staring carefully at the space between his eyebrows. “Come on.”
“I don’t want to.”
“What, you think I’m going to drown you?”
“Well, I do now.”
She sighed. "I’m not. I promise you’re going to want to see this.”
He gazed at her, trying to understand what was behind the tense line of her mouth and her unwavering stare. Nothing revealed itself.
Unclipping his belt, he got out of the car and slammed the door behind him. Rose reached out, grabbed his hand, and pulled him towards the beach.
It was hushed, only the angry crash of the waves breaking the idyllic landscape. His eyes flickered towards where it happened – where the TARDIS had landed and stranded him in this world of mystifying social cues and angry faces.
Her hand was clasped around his own tightly, as though trying to stop him from running away, but that was the last thing on his mind. It had been so long since he had held her hand. It was as comforting as it was devastating.
“Before the stars started going out,” Rose whispered, her soft voice carrying through the wind. “I was working on a way to get back.”
“The dimension canon.”
“Yeah, but other things too. We dumped them all when the canon started working.”
Her face was sad, wistful even and he squeezed her hand tightly. She startled, looking up at him, and he was alarmed by the wetness of her eyes.
“And?”
“And I’ve been working on one of them. Since…since we came back.”
His heart had literally leapt into the back of his throat. It was the only plausible explanation for the lack of air, for the way his whole body was screaming at him to go, to get out now. He hung his head and kicked at the sand.
“This is where the walls are weakest. We made a sort of, um, portal. You can just step through, see.”
She reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. With a tap of a key, a bright swirl opened around them, wind whipping around it angrily. He stepped back and pulled her with him.
“It’s not possible.”
“Same phone you gave me. Energy source from the original universe. Battery never runs out, so—”
“—so it has the power to send you back.” He finished darkly. She shook her head.
“No. Enough power to send you back.”
He thrust away from her hand and stared at her. She had tears running down her cheeks, and her eyes were wide and sad.
“No.”
“You’re not happy here.” She whispered, pulling on her earring.
“Neither are you.”
“No.” She agreed with a half-hearted chuckle.
“Rose,” he said desperately, clutching at her hands again, pressing his body as closely to hers as he could. “Rose, no. Please. I’m still the Doctor. I swear—the exact same man. I want to be here with you.”
Her hand came up and rested lightly on his cheek. He leaned into it, kissing her palm, greedily clutching at this small token of affection.
“I know,” she whispered. “Exact same man.”
“Yes! I’m him; I am exactly him—”
“The same man who left me on this beach.”
The wind from the portal settled. The sea calmed. Silence reigned.
“I stayed with you.”
“But left, as well.”
He was still clutching at her. His hands snaked around the back of her neck, pulling her forehead to his. Rose’s eyes were tightly shut. His were wide and searching.
“I don’t understand,” he whispered to her, and she only squeezed her eyes tighter, mascara leaking from her eyelashes.
“You left me, again. You didn’t even say goodbye. Why do you never say goodbye?”
“Rose—”
“I did everything I could do get back to you. Everything. Terrible things. But—” She opened her eyes and stared at him with open devastation. “You didn’t want me.”
“Of course, I did, I do.” he whispered. She ignored him.
“You just—left you here. To deal with me. To stop me trying to come back again, or whatever.” She cleared her throat and stepped out of his embrace and rubbed angrily at her eyes. “But it’s okay. I’ll stay here. I want you to be happy.”
“Rose, please.” He begged, voice breaking. He tried to grab her hand again, but she was stepping away from his embrace, arms wrapped tightly around herself. “I want to be with you. I told you, didn’t I?”
“You said you could spend your life with me.”
“Yes—yes—please. I want that. I swear I want that. He had to go; you know he had to. But I,” his face broke into a tiny, happy smile. “I got to stay.”
She stepped forwards cautiously, her hands shaking. He stayed as still as he could, resisting the urge to pull her tightly into his arms.
“You were dumped here too. You didn’t get a choice, either.” She whispered. He smiled and gently took her hand.
“I didn’t need a choice. My answer will always be you.”
She flung herself into his arms, and he clung to her desperately, nuzzling his face into her hair. Her hands were everywhere – along his back, down his arms, his neck. They clutched at his jaw and he pulled back, just a little, so he could take her in properly. There was still pain splashed across her face, but a cautious hope lit up her eyes.
“I love you.” He whispered. “Please let me.”
“Okay.” She whispered back.
She untangled herself from his embrace, and pulled out her phone, closing the portal as quickly as she’d opened it.
He offered out his hand, and she took it, a smile playing across her face.
“Together?”
“Together.” She nodded.
He pulled her away from the beach, feeling, for the first time in months, that they might just be okay.
15x18+ Spn Coda Happy Destiel Ending Fic
Dean was in a hospital bed. His eyes stared blankly at the ceiling. There were no doctors, but Sam brought him here to take advantage of the medical equipment. He found his brother like a corpse with his eyes open sitting with his back against the wall of the bunker’s dungeon.
Chuck stopped by now and then to make sure Sam and Jack still looked miserable. They had not disappointed Chuck yet.
Jack could visit Dean’s dreams, and he brought Sam too in an attempt to awaken Dean. But Dean was blind to their presence. No matter how loud they screamed, Dean couldn’t hear them. And Dean couldn’t feel them, no matter how violently they hit him.
From what Sam could tell Dean was dreaming they were working with Michael to take Chuck down. And that Jack had some kind of power vacuum ability. Michael and Lucifer were throwing fireballs at eachother like a couple kids having a snowball fight. Lucifer somehow snapped Death out of existence, and now they had a pet dog running around the Bunker.
“It’s not supernatural, Sam,” Jack said. “I can’t fix him.”
“I know,” Sam held his brother’s hand and watched the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest. “That Heaven he is stuck in is so depressing though Jack. Jeez I can’t believe our dad is there with him. John definitely didn’t deserve to go to Heaven after the shit he pulled. Then Dean was talking like he was an actor from the AU where our lives were a tv show on that bridge. It’s just so bizarre I wish we could ease his mind.”
“Me too, but what can we do?” Jack asks.
“Something must have happened to Cas,” Sam says, “Dean keeps starting the same dream over and over telling the dream us that Cas saved him. By summoning the Empty somehow.”
“Cas had made a deal with the Empty. Maybe that let him summon the Empty here,” Jack said. Sam raised an eyebrow in question, so Jack explained the terms of the deal to Sam. The deal was a contract to save Jack’s soul, and the Empty would wait until Cas was happy and then strike him down and drag him away.
“So maybe the Empty has something to do with Dean going catatonic,” Sam says.
Sam and Jack watch the still body of Dean in the hospital bed.
They were the last three souls on an empty planet.
~~
Jack started performing the ritual he had seen Nick do to summon Lucifer from the Empty.
As the spell finished, Cas and Billie, emerged through a portal from the Empty.
Sam was surprised to see Billie and after glancing towards Jack it looked like he was too.
“Jack!” Cas hugged Jack and then Sam. “Hello Sam, where’s Dean?”
“He’s gone into a coma Cas,” Sam tells Cas. “We found him sitting against the bunker’s dungeon wall, and he hasn’t been responsive since then.”
“We have business Castiel,” Billie tells the angel.
“Billie, the CE, and I have decided Chuck needs to be stopped, and we have put aside our differences for the time being,” Cas says. “Jack can you help Billie with whatever she needs. Sam, show me where Dean is.”
Jack and Billie find Chuck and use a powerful spell that Billie learned from the CE to free Amara so she becomes the dominant form and Chuck is left trapped inside her mind for safe keeping. Amara snaps her fingers and the Rapture is undone. The world is full of noise once more as people and animals once again appear as though they had never left.
Amara tells Billie and Jack that she needs to leave and work to get Heaven fixed. Now that she understands light and darkness she is confident she can restore what her brother left broken. And she has ideas that may help the CE in the Empty too.
Billie thanks Jack for his help and leaves to restore order to her library and her reapers.
~~
Meanwhile, Sam took Cas to the hospital room. Dean was still staring at the ceiling. Cas walked up and cupped Dean’s face in his hand.
“Hello Dean,” Cas says softly staring down into the blank eyes of the man he loves.
Dean remained motionless. And a moment later Cas appeared in Dean’s dream.
Cas looked around and saw he was at a gas station. Dean was carrying a dog towards the Impala.
“Who would think finding a dog would be a miracle?” Cas overhears Dean tell the canine.
“Dean!” Cas yells.
Dean looks up, but he doesn’t see Cas. He looks right through Cas to something across the street. Cas turns and sees Chuck standing there laughing like a lunatic. The dog disappears in a puff of smoke.
Cas can’t get Dean’s attention. He runs up to Dean, but Dean can’t see him. He yells at Dean, but Dean can’t hear him. He punches Dean, but Dean can’t feel him.
Cas attempts to burn down the church where Michael is hiding but no one reacts to the raging inferno. They keep talking about some plan to defeat Chuck.
“Stop Dean!” Cas yells “Its not Chuck. Michael would be dead Chuck isn’t going to be fooled by some human house of worship.”
Dean is in the bunker, and Cas follows him through his dream never leaving his side. Dean hears the phone ring and answers “Cas!”
Cas wonders if he’s about to meet his dream self. He wonders if dream Cas is going to be taller. Cas watched Dean sprint up the stairs to meet him at the bunker door. And he sees Lucifer?
Well at least Lucifer is an enemy they have confidently beaten before. Cas ignores dream Lucifer and starts looking through the lore while dream Michael and dream Lucifer engage in some embarrassing snowball fight. Cas tries to tune it out while he searching desperately for something in the library that could help Dean’s condition.
Suddenly they are all at the side of a lake. Chuck killed Michael. And now he was beating the snot out of Sam and Dean. Cas tried to put his body as a shield between Chuck and the Winchester’s but no one was affected by his presence. Cas screamed in bitterness and frustration, but no one paid attention to him. Jack walked over and knocked Chuck down. Cas was relieved that Dean wasn’t getting hit anymore.
They got into the Impala and drove to some town. Jack made people appear and then Jack disappeared. Sam and Dean drove to the bunker. Dean drank himself to sleep and Cas watched over him.
The brothers started working a case and Cas watched in horror as a vampire in a mask pushed Dean into a spike.
Cas couldn’t watch Dean die not even in a dream. Cas grabbed his angel blade and slit his own throat. Cas was cutting his grace out. He hoped that if Dean had angel grace he’d snap out of it. Cas began to feel light headed from the quick drop in power.
Cas knelt down on the barn floor. Then he felt a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and saw Dean smiling at him. The dream vampires and dream Sam all had disappeared. Cas and Dean were alone in the dark barn. Dean looked unhurt to Cas.
“Cas, why are you hurt?” Dean asked.
“You are in a coma Dean. I couldn’t wake you, and I thought angels don’t sleep. So I wanted to give you my grace,” Cas said.
Dean knelt down beside Cas, and put Cas’s hand to his own neck. “Heal yourself Cas!” Dean said with worry furrowed on his brow.
“I can’t Dean. I gave it all. I’m human now.” Cas smiled. Cas knew his situation was dire and now he’d bleed out. But he got to see his Dean again, and he couldn’t help from smiling. “I thought I lost you. Dean, does this barn remind you of the night we met?”
“Forget about the memories Cas. I want the real you. I’ve been stuck in this dream over and over. And I knew if I could just find you I’d snap out of it. You can’t leave buddy. We just found each other again. I thought you were gone forever. Because you never told me goodbye before,” Dean whispers to Cas. Dean puts his own hand over Cas’s throat and to his surprise his hand glows and Cas’s throat is healed.
“Cas, what the fuck?” Dean asks Cas.
“Uhh, you have my grace so now you have angelic powers.” Cas tells Dean.
“I don’t want them, Cas. Can I give them back? How do I fix this?” Dean asks. Dean stands up and offers Cas his hand to help him up.
“There is nothing to fix, Dean. I don’t need those powers anymore. I’d like to live a human life.” Cas looks at Dean.
“Cas, I think losing you. It broke something inside me. Everytime I lose you it gets harder for me to recover. When you pulled me out of Hell, I was torturing souls and I enjoyed it. Ever since then I’ve been barely keeping it together. I close my eyes and see myself ripping limbs off of humans with a smile on my face. Cas, you are the only one that knows that and still loves me. You have seen me at my worst and love me for me.” Dean tells Cas.
“Who you were then, that’s not who you are now. That doesn’t define you,” Cas says. “You—” Dean leans in to kiss Cas on the lips. Then Dean pulls back and looks at Cas. Cas appears totally astonished, and Dean smiles at Cas because he’s beautiful and amazing.
“I love you, Cas. I never believed in angels or a greater power before we met. I only believed in the things I could see. But then I met you Cas. You gave up Heaven, and everything you had ever known because you believed in doing the right thing. You believed in us. You fought for us.” Dean said, “You are more than an angel to me. You are my Cas.” Dean wraps his arms around Cas. “Cas, can we get out of here?”
“Yes Dean, you just need to wake up,” Cas says.
~~
Cas blinks and is back in the hospital with Dean and Sam. The hospital also has nurses and technicians walking along the hallways.
“Hey Cas! It looks like the Rapture got reversed.” Sam looks at Cas. “Um... any luck with Dean?”
“Yes Sam, actually Dean was the one that pulled me out of the dream,” Cas said.
“Oh wow really?” Sam walked over to the side of Dean’s bed and leaned over to see if there was any change in Dean. Dean’s eyes were still open and looking on the ceiling. Then Sam felt an arm grab his shoulder and shake him, and Sam found himself flinching involuntarily.
“Got you!” Dean laughed.
“Go to hell,” Sam rolled his eyes and then leaned in to hug his brother.
Dean hopped out of bed, and asked Sam if he could borrow his knife. Sam nods and hands his brother his blade. Then Sam announces he has a text from Eileen, and he’ll be back in a bit.
“Where’s Jack?” Dean asks.
“Here I am,” Jack appears in the room. An orderly screams. “Oh don’t worry I’m a magician, and that was part of my magic act,” Jack tells the frightened orderly.
Dean grabs a specimen cup out of a drawer and slices his neck. The grace drips into the specimen cup. After it’s filled Dean replaces the lid on the jar.
“Dean, I meant it before I don’t want my grace back,” Cas says.
Jack reaches out to heal Dean’s neck. “Here Jack can you keep this in a pocket dimension for safe keeping?” Dean hands Jack the jar.
Jack nods his head and disappears. Another orderly screams but the first orderly explains it’s part of a magic act.
“I’m glad you still don’t want your grace,” Dean walks over to Cas and reaches out to hold his hands. “I’m ready to try new things. The stress of hunting has been wearing me down. I’m running on adrenaline and I am barely coping anymore. I’m too tired to feel anything but anger most of the time. I want to find some peace, and I’d like to grow old with you Cas.”
“And I’d like to grow old with you, Dean Winchester.” Cas says.
They share a kiss and then another. “Dean if we’re still in your coma, I don’t want to wake up,” Cas says.
“No Cas, we’re not dreaming. This is real. We’re real,” Dean tells Cas while punctuating the answer with kisses under his jawline. “And now that we have each other, nothing can drag us apart.”
bloodshot (Marcus Tibbs)
hello readers this is a character study for Tibbs from bloodshot (2020) and me adding some head canons that I want to share with yall.
ps, my writing is not the best so sorry for the errors if there are any.
----*----
losing your sight on the fealed was more than terrifying. Marcus heard all sorts of horror stories from wars. limbs being blown off by mines. soldiers fall all of a sudden and out of nowhere because of a sniper. he even heard the story of pow's and civilians after they were freed from a prison camp. how the guards would look for any 'pretty' looking man if there were no ladies around for them to get off on. it made him shiver whenever he thought of the story.
and now look at him, in the field with his spec ops team heading toward their objective at a crawling pace. of course, all ops were like this moving inch by inch making sure there were no hidden traps or soldiers waiting to pop off a shot on them. wars were not like the movie's portal of war with a hero running around kicking ass and getting their girl in the end when they save the day. war was a soldier crawling across the field at a hideously slow pace. war was fearing when you'd be the next to fall among your brother with a bullet in your head. war was a mound of paperwork at your desk to the point you would fall asleep at twelve. war was satisfying the boredom that would spread across the camp like a plague when they were waiting for their next order. war was dealing with the unexpected like now.
the one's silent street was now a black ringing abyss with the underlayer of muffled voices that where screaming. Marcus at first did not realize that he was permanently blind the pain was washed out by the adrenaline that was being bumped into his vanes by his own body. at first, he thought he was unconscious but that thought did not make sense. he felt the ground underneath him and it did not explain the voices that sounded so close to his brothers in arms that were now becoming clearer as each second passed. then it hit him like a tone of bricks as everything came back as shattered crystals. he was blind. he could feel his own blood trail down his face like tears. he heard his brother in arm who keep repeating "I got you" as he was dragged away from whatever chaos there was on the battlefield. he felt the hands of a medic as they worked on trying to stop the bleeding.
he remembered feeling light-headed for days after they were able to get back to camp and him into the medical tent or that was how the place felt. he remembered being put under for surgery to get the shrapnel out of his destroyed eyes. he remember the bandaged around his head as the doctors told him that he would never be able to see. he remembers the crushing agony of the news. he remembers 'crying' his eyes burned but tears never came. he remembers his team saying their goodbyes to him as he was sent home for re-hab.
he remembers hearing a doctor promise the impossible.
Dr. Harting was the man of the man who promised Marcus the impossible. Dr. Harting promised he could get Marcus to see again. Marcus thought he was joking that this was some kind of horrific joke that the doctor made up. but his hope that the doctor was telling the truth and he could truly give Markus his sight back was like trying to swim against a raging current. so he agreed. he would work for Dr. Harting's company and the Docter would give him the ability to see again.
after the surgery, he was at first disappointed when he woke he could still not see. "were are still building your eyes" the doctor said when he was not high on painkillers
"building?"
"yes" he heard the doctor move closer to him "here let me show you" he felt his hand get gently take and guided to the back of his neck where he felt something like ports. it made him shiver. "this is where your harness will connect to your ocular system"
"why a harness?"
"It is less dangerous than trying to replace your real eyes" the doctor tolled him moving his own hand away from the port leaving Markus's hand alone "and your site will be much better than before!" the doctor chirped. Marcus was left to his thoughts as Dr. Harting left.
----*----
the first time with his 'eyes' he nearly puked after all this trial was supposed to get rid of any bugs in the system and make other adjustments to it. it was all so the fact he had a 360 view of everything around him and the clarity of a falcons eyes. it was weird seeing the world at his chest-height. it was weird to be able to watch people walk around him without the need to turn his head. it was a lot for the mind to adjust to. during the time of the first trial, he saw two others like him watching the whole ordeal. the first one was a girl who had something across her collar bone. the other was a guy. his legs were prosthetics and they look more advanced than any prosthetics he had seen. Marcus watched as the prosthetic leg bounced just like regular one.
Marcus later learned their names. the man was jimmy or Jim for short and the other was KT probably her initials Marcus suspected.
"Marcus Tibbs" was all he said when they first met
hello! may I request a Narnia ship? I'm a straight girl, French-Spanish, ♎ and ENFP. I'm energetic, cheerful and humorous, but sometimes a bit self-centered and bossy. I've somewhat of an adventurous spirit. I love beautiful stuff (I buy books bc the cover is pretty I'm a wreck-) history, literature, but also science (math & physics particularly) and I deeply love the sky. I'm a hopeless romantic, I really want to learn to dance & I want pet every single dog I see. thank you!💜
Hi, I apologize for taking so long with your request! But I hope you’ll like this (and the one to come!) 💚
So I ship you with...Peter Pevensie!
* You were born a Telmarine, but there’s no doubt at all that you’re a Narnian at heart
* When Miraz attempts to assasinate Caspian for the throne, you are sent to the forest with the Telmarine prince as well
* The Doctor asks that you protect Caspian, though you’d do that without his request anyway—you love Caspian as a childhood friend and brother
* Meeting the Narnians-in-hiding is daunting, but your adventurous spirit grows attracted to the world of magic quickly
* You meet the Pevensies under rather awkward circumstances (the High King was close to bashing your friend in the head with a rock)
* But actually seeing legends in flesh that you’ve only known through books and history lessons with the Doctor wipes away any ill feelings from your first encounter
* Slowly, you bond with the Kings and Queens of Old one by one—Stargazing with Lucy, academic discussions with Susan, chess games with Edmund out of makeshift chess pieces—they’ve grown to adore you
* Peter, however, is harder to approach at first with his somewhat resentful and wary attitude
* Him and Caspian butt heads a lot, and it’s during those times you see the lost boy who’s once crowned King struggling to find himself
* One day you find yourself alone in the How with him, drawing circles in dust as an awkward silence flows between you two
* “You know, I’ve got an inkling or two about losing your home and not knowing where to stand”
* Since then, he starts opening up with each exchange, and though tensions remain high for the upcoming battle with Miraz, Peter’s visibly more confident when you’re around
* Caspian likes to throw you little teasing glances and smirks for it, like the good old brother-figure that he is
* On nights where you and Peter are on stakeout duty, he’ll tell you all about the corgis that live next door in England and their cute little butts
* And in return, you’ll point him to all the stars in the sky and every story that they hold
* “I believe that over there is named after a certain Magnificent King”
* It’s a subtle bloom of love that neither of you have ever expected
* Before the battle, you share a quick kiss in the shadows of the How with a heart both heavy and full
* You fight with every fibre of your being, facing off against one of the lords who you had looked up to as a child
* “You’ve grown well (y/n), quite like a queen”
* At one point you and Peter slash through the field back to back, and the sword wielded a thousand years ago feels just right in your hand—almost as if it was meant for you
* You meet the legendary Aslan and is rewarded with a warm nuzzle on the cheek for your bravery (much to Peter’s astonishment)
* The next few days past like a blur—you whirl through Cair Paravel in preparation for Caspian’s coronation, while the Pevensies help restore order amongst the Narnians and Telmarines
* Though relieved about your best friend’s success, you’re also aware that Caspian’s ascent to the throne implies the end to your budding romance as well
* On Coronation Day, the gaze Peter sends you confirms your most bittersweet thoughts, and soon you find yourselves alone in one of the towers, looking at the mid-afternoon sun hanging high in the east
* Peter holds you close to his chest as you both sway to soft music from the kingdom’s celebrations, neither talking as words seem nowhere near enough to convey anything
* You listen to the steady thuds of his heartbeat, not quite a promise but no less of a sincere declaration of love and gratitude
* “I can’t offer you a throne, but I can leave with you a piece of myself”
* You watch the Pevensies walk through the portal with Caspian’s hand on your shoulder, smiling one last time at the boy who had made your life a thrilling ride in just a few weeks
* You and Peter’s story may not have a conventional happily ever after, but it may just be the greatest one yet
* “Goodbyes are always only temporary”
* And a couple of years later, aboard the Dawn Treader, you receive a lovely surprise on deck
* “Peter sends his warmest regards, and he’s also wondering if your dancing has gotten any better”
How To Troll A Sorcerer
"I swear! He'll do it!" Peter exclaims.
"What about his hands?" Ned asks.
"He uses his arms."
"I kind of feel sorry for Dr. Strange. He has to deal with yours and Stark's crap." MJ says as they ride the elevator up to the family floor.
Peter rolls his eyes and the elevator opens to reveal Tibbs sitting in front of the doors, and he mews at the teen. "Hey buddy!" The teen picks up the kitten and carries him into the living room with his friends close behind.
The trio sit and set up their homework on the coffee table and Tibbs curls up next to Peter when the vigilante releases him. His friends were only there for a couple of hours to work on a project for school, and after they left, Stephen would be taking Peter to the hospital to properly meet Christine. She had been hounding the sorcerer since the teen's close call with appendicitis, and the man finally caved when Peter said he didn't mind. He didn't mind the hospital when he or a loved one wasn't a patient.
"I'll call you back Pepper. My tower has been infiltrated by teenagers." Peter hears Tony say as the man walks out of his office and into the living room. He hangs up his phone before pocketing it and looks over Ned's shoulder at their group project. "Biology? How do you have a group project in that?"
"We don't even know. We're just getting it done." Peter answers with a sigh.
"If you guys need help for some reason, don't ask me. That's more Mom's or Bruce's area of expertise. Hungry?" Tony raises his eyebrows and sticks his tongue out in disgust after taking a sip of cold coffee.
"Starving." Peter confirms.
"I could eat." MJ says.
Ned only nods and Tony turns to walk away. "FRIDAY, order their usual and start some coffee."
Tony disappears around the corner into the kitchen, and the teenagers return their attention to their homework. A half hour passes when both FRIDAY announces the arrival of their pizza, and Tibbs wakes up from his nap to jump onto the coffee table and meow loudly. It was the kitten's way of demanding Peter take a break and give him attention.
Before the teen could get up to go downstairs and get their food, Pepper steps out of the elevator with a couple of boxes balanced in one hand and some papers in the other. Peter takes the pizza from her with a thank you and barely steps out of the way when he turns and finds MJ charging over to Tony's CEO.
"Miss Potts? If you're not too busy, can I ask you some questions?" Michelle asks.
Pepper smiles. "Sure! I have an hour to spare. Let me give these to Tony and then I'll be all yours!"
Pepper steps into the kitchen where she promptly drops a stack of files in front of Tony, and the man grumbles at the sight. "One of these days, I'm gonna make Stephen sign these."
"He's not stupid Tony. I don't even bring you this stuff as often anymore."
The woman walks back over to MJ and Ned frowns when the girl gathers her things and a couple slices of pizza. "What about our project?"
"We finished half of it in class today. We have time to finish it." MJ responds before following Pepper into the elevator, and Peter shrugs when his best friend turns to look at him.
"She's right. Besides, she's been wanting to talk to Pepper for ages."
"Yeah, okay." Ned relents.
The two finish their homework and their pizza in the next hour and Stephen portals home in the kitchen. Peter grins when the sorcerer walks into the living room and whispers to Ned to take out his phone and record. The boy does as he's asked with a bit of confusion and Peter jumps up and runs toward Stephen whose eyes widen comically.
"Peter! No! I have--" The sorcerer doesn't get the chance to finish because the teen jumps and Stephen is forced to drop the books in his hands to catch his son.
"Hey Mom! Thanks for catching me!" Peter laughs before looking at Ned. "Did you get it?"
"Sending video evidence to MJ." Ned says with a laugh.
Stephen looks at them both with an unimpressed stare. "What's that term kids use these days? Oh yes...Peter you're a troll."
Peter hops out of the doctor's arms with a smile and gathers the fallen books. "But you love me!" He says as he hands the books over and Stephen sighs heavily.
"I do...and you also make my life more interesting." Stephen says with a touch of fond annoyance. "Your father is an entirely different story."
"I heard that!" Tony says from the kitchen.
Five feet away.
Stephen just ignores him.
"Are you finished with your homework cub?"
"Huh? Oh yeah. Just finished."
"Peter, your cat is trying to eat pizza." Ned says and the vigilante turns to watch his friend pull Tibbs away from what's left of the pizza.
"Would you like a shortcut home Ned?" Stephen asks and the teen looks at his phone. "Oh, yeah, please? My parents will be expecting me home soon." The sorcerer nods and opens a portal for Ned and he puts his things into his backpack as Peter picks up Tibbs. "See you later Peter. Thanks Dr. Strange!"
Ned disappears through the portal, and Peter rolls his eyes when he catches a bit of fanboying from his friend before the portal closes. He always liked the chances he got to go through them.
Peter grabs the remaining pizza and carries it and his kitten into the kitchen to find Tony sitting at the dining table, looking through the paperwork Pepper had brought him. He sets the box on the table, and Tibbs on his father's shoulder, and the kitten drapes comfortably over it. He definitely found a weird cat.
Tony looks up at his son and gently scratches the kitten's head. "What about your scary girlfriend?"
Stephen's head snaps up from his book. "What girlfriend?!" He demands.
Peter blushes. "She's not my girlfriend! She's probably downstairs somewhere with Pepper."
Tony chuckles. "I'll ask Pep to take her home. You and Mama Bear going to see his friend now?"
"I don't have much of a choice." Stephen replies as he closes the book he's looking at with a thud. "She's being persistant."
"Have fun tesoro." The engineer teases and getting a blush from the younger man as he opens another portal and pulls Peter through it by the back of his shirt.
The teen unfortunately knew that Stephen had a thing with Tony speaking in different languages, because he was the first to notice and encourage his father to try a different language just to confirm it. He kind of regretted it. His parents sex life increased since the discovery and sometimes he knew just by smell whenever he got home. It was embarrassing. He also knew not to eat at the dining table after he was forced to go to Ned's that one afternoon. Although it was kind of gross, it was also kind of funny when Tony admitted to using the table for other carnal activities when the Avengers were in the middle of dinner. Their expressions were priceless. A mix between disgust and a look that told Peter they were expecting it to happen eventually. Even Nat looked offended and she didn't let things like that bother her. She was usually the one to start it in the first place.
Scott though, had a little bit of envy in his eyes. The poor guy was crushing hard and Tony was practically waving Stephen in his face.
The sorcerer's voice soon interrupts Peter's thoughts. "It will only be a quick hello." He says as they walk down the street, toward the hospital. The building coming closer with each step they take.
"Can we go to that bakery afterwards? The one you bought that fruit tart from?" The teen asks with over the top enthusiasm.
Stephen nods. "That can be arranged. Tony has been wanting their donuts for a while now."
Peter grins and as they walk into the hospital, it falters just a bit and the teen moves closer to Stephen. Although hospitals didn't bother him as much when he and everyone he knew was safe, they still made his skin crawl. The smell didn't help much either. The smell of disinfectant was overwhelming.
Stephen slows when Peter unconsciously grabs the back of his cardigan but says nothing as they make their way to the nurse's station. The sorcerer clears his throat to pull Christine's attention from a file and she smiles at the sight of Peter.
"Just when I thought I would have to annoy you some more." She holds her hand out to Peter and he takes it, shaking it carefully. "Nice to see you healthy and normal. Nick has been wanting to meet you too."
Stephen groans loudly. "You didn't."
Christine smiles impishly. "Of course I did. A teenager turns Doctor Stephen Strange into a puddle of maternal goo and calls him Mom? I told everyone."
"Peter, we're leaving. Don't bother saying goodbye." Stephen turns on his heel as the teen begins to protest and comes face to face with Nick. "Shit."
The other doctor raises his eyebrows. "Hello to you too Strange." He looks at Peter. "You must be Peter."
"Uh...yes sir." The teen responds lamely.
"Stark's kid. I have to say, when Christine told me a kid softened this asshole's heart, I didn't believe her."
"I'm right here." Stephen says with irritation.
A couple of female nurses join them and instantly fawn over Peter who takes in the attention with wide eyes. "Oh, he's adorable!"
That had Stephen snickering. Peter looked like he wanted to retort with the typical line that he wasn't a child, but he was too polite to do so with strangers. So the boy instead tolerated the attention. He didn't look uncomfortable, and actually opened up when the hospital staff told him stories of Stephen's neurosurgeon days. The sorcerer just sighed to himself when Peter told them his own stories about Stephen on return. He was mostly there to get Peter put if the smells and the company got to be too much and to get Christine to stop pestering him. Although she would probably only want to see him more often now. Peter had that effect on almost everyone he met, they all took a liking to him.
Friendlies of course.
"...and then Mom flicked him toward the kitchen..." Stephen covers his blushing face when Nick looks up at him with a smirk at the maternal term. He was suddenly very glad he didn't work with these people anymore. They would never let him live it down otherwise.
Stephen's salvation came in the form of a demand for Christine and Nick to an operating room over the speakers.
"Maybe Stephen can bring you by again and we can go for lunch." Christine says. "It was nice seeing you Peter."
"Oh! Uh...you too Dr. Palmer!" Peter sputters out as the others say their own goodbyes to both teen and sorcerer, before answering the call to the operating room.
Stephen leads Peter out of the hospital with a light chuckle and then in the direction of the bakery when they hit the sidewalk. The teen was uncharacteristically quiet, occasionally glancing up at the sorcerer and fidgeting, until Stephen eventually stops him outside of the bakery.
"What's on your mind?" He asks gently.
"I-I'm sorry. It all came out like word vomit and I couldn't stop myself. If I made you mad or something, I'm really sorry." His son stammers.
"Cub, if it really bothered me, I would have stopped you. There's nothing to be sorry about." Stephen opens the door and elbows Peter as he walks past. "I can definitely use an entire cheesecake to drown my embarrassment in though."
The teen laughs. "I just want one of those fruit tarts again."
"We'll splurge. A whole cheesecake for me, a whole tart for you, and a dozen donuts for your father."
"We're paying with his money aren't we?"
Stephen scoffs. "Don't be absurd. It's my money too."
"In that case, can we get a chocolate cake for Happy?" Peter asks with a grin.
"We better just buy something for everyone." The doctor replies with his own smile.
They buy their multitudes of cakes and tarts and everything in between, making the owners extremely happy, especially with the generous tip Stephen leaves them, and portal back home. They places their bags on the counter and Tony looks up from his phone to eye their purchase.
"Well that explains the two hundred plus transaction I got on my account." The engineer pours himself another cup of coffee and Tibbs purrs happily from his spot over Tony's shoulder. "There better be donuts in there."
"There were but they looked really good..." Peter trails off and holds up his hands when his father glares at him, and then laughs. "I'm kidding!"
"It was me. I ate them." Stephen says with a straight face.
Tony grumbles under his breath and turns to the cupboards to find a snack while Stephen digs out the untouched box of donuts and places it on the counter. When his husband turns again with a bag of cookies, he stops when he notices the donuts and glares up at Stephen.
"Asshole."
Convincing Loki to help you out - Part 3 (Finale)
Pairing : Avengers x Gender Neutral Plus Size Reader ; Loki x Gender Neutral Plus Size Reader (platonic)
Warnings : Language, Endgame events altered, Death of character
Word Counts : 1.9k
Once the teams have been split, everyone got into those terrible red and white Quantum Real uniforms Tony designed and circled the entry of the device. "Everyone knows what they're supposed to do", said Steve looking at everyone warmly before his eyes narrowed on your figure to which you grazed at him with a smug smile. They nodded and Natasha commented "See you in a minute" to which you made a grimace, not feeling like it. "Come on Loki Luke, let's get this junk started", you grabbed the God of Mischief and traveled back to 2013 Asgard, ending in the prison district. You saw Loki's room and turned to the present version telling him, "You could at least clean your room." He rolled his eyes before turning towards you, justifying that it wasn't his room but his cell. "Hmm…even in jail you have to be a fancy bitch, don't you?", you commented while passing the cell.
You saw Rocket and Thor hide and in the middle of a commotion. And then you snapped when seeing Rocket's hand lift. "Don't you dare slap him!", you said through greeted teeth and preventing the hit. "Y/N the mission", whispered Loki. "If I know that you did it, you can say goodbye to that furry thing between your legs", you threatened the Guardian. He swallowed harshly and dropped his hand. "We'll gonna check out what's happening in New York", you said softly to Thor and calmed his anxiety down with some of your powers. Giving a deadly look to Rocket, you grabbed Loki once more and disappeared.
You ended next to Tony who slightly jumped, "God, you scared me." "What's happening? Tony?", you heard Steve on the comms. "Y/N and Loki are here", answered Scott. Tony commented on Steve's ass and you checked him out. 2012's Loki version began impersonating Rogers once more during his life time and you turned towards him, "You surely like impersonating Steve in particular, hein" and saw Loki's cheeks turn a slight pink shade. "It's ok if you wanna bang him, he surely must be righteous in ALL the places", you joked. "Would you Stop!", he greeted through his teeth making you chuckle and Tony smirk. "I hate you", he tuned towards you. "Yeah, yeah, love you too". Passing him a Pym Particle you told him you were going to check on the events in Vormir.
You arrived after the Keeper finished his famous 'One soul for a soul' part. "Alright Kim Possible what's going on?", you chanted while seeing them fighting each other. You rolled your eyes and sighed before paralyzing the two Avengers. You nodded at the Keeper and said "How's life, Skully?" "Long and empty", he responded. "Yup like my sex life. Happens. " You marched at the former SHIELD agents and they seem in pain. "What are you doing?", asked Clint. Your tone got solennel, "My job." Natasha's eyes widened and she whispered, "You gonna jump aren't you?" "It won't work, it must be someone you deeply love", said Clint. "No shit Sherlock." Turning to Red Skull, you saw him nod. You looked down the cliff and exclaimed before jumping, "This is gonna hurt like a Motherfucker." The only thing that was heard next was your skull fractured on the stone.
Natasha and Clint woke up, water surrounding them and the most beautiful sky they've ever witnessed. Inside her palm, Natasha had the soul stone in her possession. They sighed and activated the Pym Particle to get back to the present timeline. As planned, everyone arrived at the same time with the Infinity Stones. Some of them let out a happy scream of joy for achieving the Heist until Loki noticed your absence. "Where's Y/N?" He looked at Natasha and Clint and repeated his question with a firmer voice. "Where are they?" They bowed their head and said, "They sacrificed themselves for the Stone." The room quieted down, everyone giving you a minute of respect for what you've done. Loki left the room and ended near the compound's lake. "Why did you do it?", he mumbled to himself.
In the meantime, Tony carefully inserted the stones on his Gauntlet and Hulk reverse snapped everyone back. They felt the air around them shift and truly realized it worked when Clint's wife called him. Their joy quickly vanished when Thanos' ship shadow rotated above the compound and bombed the place. Recovering their senses, Tony, Steve and Thor marched at their nemesis. The fight 2.0 began. Thanos was on the verge to get Thor when Steve wielded Mjöllnir. "YESSS", shouted Thor. Thanos and Steve fought until it was only The Captain facing Thanos and his army. "On your left", he heard the comms. Two simple words warming his heart. Portals opened up, the World's Mightiest Heroes joining each other for one purpose. One order and everyone ran into battle.
Before crashing against the army, the right fling was decimated by an unknown force. "ProtoVision" by Kavinsky was blasting in the air. You appeared in a grand entrance, sword in hand, decimating everyone in your passage. The Avengers seeing you alive, proudly shouted into battle. "Hello Thanos, long time no see", you faced the Titan, who tensed at your presence. You didn't give him a chance to respond and attacked. Steve, Tony, Thor and Loki joined you. Each taking a turn on the Titan. At the corner of your eye, you saw Peter fleeing with the Gauntlet and decided to give him a hand. He didn't see the Alien coming behind him at full speed. You intervened the moment the monster was about to stab him but ended stabbing you instead. You fell to the ground, bleeding out. Loki was by your side, "Y/N, hey it's gonna be ok. I'm here." You shook your head and told him to go gets his revenge before, once more, passing away.
The fight escalated. Doctor Strange had to control the breach before it drowned the place while Thanos called for back-up. The Avengers were on their lasts ressources when Carol Danvers came crashing the Alien Spaceship. It was her turn to face off Thanos. She was keeping the Gauntlet from him while standing her ground. Thanos managed to take the upper-hand and take the Gauntlet back. Tony pushed further by attacking Thanos but was projecting to the ground by the Titan. "I am the inevitable", he proclaimed before snapping his fingers. When he saw it didn't work, you let the masquerade fade away and transformed from Tony to yourself, the Stones glowing on your bare arm. "And I am the beginning and the end", you said with a piercing gaze and snapped.
You felt the Stone's powers invading you, burning you whole. Thanos and his army vanished while you laid on the ground, breathing weakly. The Avengers kneeled before you and asked how you managed to come back. "I was created to keep the Stones safe and hidden. In doing so, I managed like a cat to have an amount of life chances. Six stones, six lives. I just used the last one. No coming back anymore", you spoke slowly, a silent tear sliding down your face. While you were telling them how you managed to come back, you traced a code in the dusty ground. Natasha noticed your move but quickly focused her gaze back on you dying. "I got my wish. I won't die alone", you said before slightly pushing your sword to Loki's direction. "You're worth it", and with that your body glowingly faded away.
————-
5 months later
The compound has been in reconstruction after the Grand Battle. Natasha recovered your code left on the dusty ground, tracing every formula with Tony and Bruce's help. Until now it was a dead-end. "If they left this behind it's not a coincidence", said Tony, while scratching his neck. "Sir, there is a delivery guy outside the compound's door", exclaimed F.R.I.D.A.Y. Confusion was written all over their features seeing that the package came from you. They intercepted the delivery guy and asked them about the package. He checked his notebook and declared that they that received instructed to deliver it today. Tony called everyone on their provisory conference room. "Why today?", asked Rhodes. No one had an answer. Inside the box, Tony recovered an USB drive to which he uploaded on the main screen.
It was a video recording of you facing the camera.
"Hello, if you see this message it means I am no longer. Obviously, otherwise that would be weird me watching this with you. So dramatic, right?", they heard you chuckle and couldn't help smile at the screen. "I know you all loved me and will miss me so much to the point of questioning if life is worth living without me in it, but it is. I would like to use this tragic moment to leave my last impressions and directives to you."
"Rhodes…would you slap Ross for me. Pleeeasse. I can't stand that one. Squirrel if I find out you slapped him, I will come back and cut not only your furry D but both your hands", you said with a piercing look. "Alright, I get it no slapping, Jeez", spoke Rocket in the room. The others looked at each other confused except for Loki who laughed out loud. "Little Ant, never stop growing, the stars aren't the limit." "Awnnn so cute", exclaimed Scott with a dorky smile on his face. "Clint I have been willing to ask you this for some time now. …WTF is that hAiRcUt ?!? Bruce, Hulk…Hulce, the new look definitely threw me of the grid. Wasn't expecting it but as long as you're in peace that's what matters. And ohh by the love of the cosmos NEVER DAB AGAIN." "Bro what?", Tony turned towards his friend who only shrugged.
"Thunder Thor out here killing all the humans with that amazing smile. Never stop doing that. Hmm who next? STEVIE-OHHHH, I know what happened in that office. No, I wasn't creeping around like some", you said insinuating it about him. "She knows she means everything to you, trust me for once. The past should stay in the past. It's time for the world to meet the Nomad *winks* you know what you gotta do." Steve's gaze briefly landed on Sam.
"Tony, Metal man himself. You can go rest now. You did good. It's time for your second journey, tiny and cute Morgan. Natasha, the spy of it all. I think I left you a task didn't I. Here let me give you one more hint. 'What you're looking for is closer than you think'. And finally, the one and only God of Mischief, Low-key. It was fun hanging out with you. Who thought you were more than just an amazing haircut. Don't do anything stupid but in case you do, don't forget about me. Take care of our baby."
"Anyway this is fucked up. If I had to choose a song to describe my life it would be Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It started slow, hesitant, simple before unexpectedly accelerating. The Rock'n'Roll notes overflowing my existence. Yeah you better be ready, sometimes I'm deep ok. Well 'was'. You were my Rock'n'Roll part and I would like to thank you for that. For a small fraction I didn't just exist but I lived. Bye Losers and live freely you little birds. "
The video ended with you smiling at the camera.
"Oh I almost forgot, btw, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are Skrulls. Peace!', your voice was heard for the last time on the tape.
The audience turned towards Fury and Maria, who felt very uncomfortable. They revealed their true identity before 'Fury' declared, "We can explain."
The Last Man
It’s day 50 of freeze-dried beef stroganoff. Doctor Beckett swallows the meat and rice with a grimace. He’s made a challenge out of it, seeing how long he can eat the same meal without cracking. This is probably as far as he’ll go with this dish, beating his previous record with the chicken curry. At least if he stops here, he’ll have plenty of the beef left to break up the nutrient paste and vitamin pills, once the rest of the prepackaged meals run out.
I’m not looking forward to that day when I find this swill a treat, he thinks.
He looks out of the porthole, imagining the ventilation fans as a breeze blowing across the lunar plain. Not for the first time, he wishes he had tried to smuggle in just one pack of cigarettes. It wouldn’t have done any harm, in the end. Werner would have lost his mind if he’d found out, though.
Werney, the sour-faced, stuck-up bastard. Of all the people to be shot into space with, the O5s had to send me with Site 19’s tie-on-casual-Fridays Werney, the guy who thinks putting sugar in his cereal is the height of adventure. Maybe it’s for the best he went off. Living together, one of us would have by now.
Not a word. Not even an I’m-just-going-out-and-may-be-some-time. You didn’t even shake my fucking hand before you left.
God damn you, Werney.
Beckett thinks back to that day a few months ago, seeing Doctor Werner walking through the craters, heading towards the horizon. Opening a radio channel. “Hey, Werney, where are you going?”
The last words of Man. “Hey, Werney, where are you going?” Jesus Christ.
You didn’t have to explain yourself, or say something deep and meaningful. Hell, “Goodbye” would have been deep and meaningful enough for anyone. I’d have been satisfied with that.
If I’d gone after you, would you have come back?
No, you wouldn’t have come back. That’s why I didn’t say anything else.
God damn you, you bastard.
It was ironic, that gloomy, unsmiling Doctor Werner was the first one to snap, because in the end, it was because he was the positive one. He was the optimist. He believed the briefing from the O5s, that they were to get ready for the next wave of staff, the pioneers of New Humanity rising from the ashes. Even when they both knew no more shuttles were coming, he still thought the Foundation had something up its sleeve, that some portal would appear and the O5s would pop out to give them medals and take them back to the world as it was before.
I guess the day he walked out was when he knew we were the last ones left. I’m still here because, in the end, I was less hopeful than sour old Werney. What was the point of hoping, after they launched LEGIONNAIRE?
Beckett thinks back to the day when everything changed, when it started ascending from the gases of Jupiter. The President on television with the Overseers beside him, the wailing in the streets. The day he told Adrienne where he really worked.
And then, the miracles. Watching LEGIONNAIRE’s first test launch. Jimmy Kimmel making electromagnetic pulse jokes. His nieces and nephews, drawing crayon pictures of rockets and explosions and arguing about which missile was the best. The Pope leading the faithful in prayer to the world’s nuclear bombs in St Peter’s Square, the Lord’s angels made metal.
An end to wars. An end to pointless squabbles and petty politics. All the negative energies of mankind turned to purpose, with an outside threat so faceless, so impersonal, that all vitriol and hatred directed towards it became noble.
Most of the job involved disgust, fear, and at best, grim satisfaction, if things were well done. But those few months – I was proud of the Foundation. I was proud to say I worked there. I was proud to be a human being.
Maybe that was worth it.
Maybe I should be grateful to Werney. Now I can say I’m the last man on the moon. The anti-Armstrong to your anti-Aldrin. One small step for a man, one giant end for mankind.
Another half-remembered memory, of a bright-eyed graduating class at MIT, as Aldrin walks in, telling America’s newest engineers about dreaming and boldly going, cheers and screams from the crowd drowning out any substance of the speech. Shoving past friends and holding out a pen and scrap of paper, the prize following him to Boeing, Cape Canaveral and Site 19. Now returned to dust, like everything else. Suddenly, Beckett has an idea, and heads to the base storerooms.
It’s not like I have anything better to do.
...
A few hours later, the rover is loaded with supplies, and peels out of the garage, the door silently sliding closed behind it. A set of footprints trails into the distance, but the rover bounces in the opposite direction.
He dreams of the first time he went into space, and the last time. Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins are with him. Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins, Beckett, Werner. The last manned mission to the moon. The last mission anywhere.
The rover comes to a stop, the beep of the autopilot waking Beckett from his slumber. He straps on his helmet, tapping the seals. The airlock opens with a hiss, and he bounds down the stairs. The lander is in front of him, flag standing stiffly at attention beside it. Beckett runs a glove over its metal legs, so awkward-looking to modern eyes. His hand comes to rest over Aldrin’s signature.
Did you ever think something like this would happen, Mr Aldrin?
If you’d gone ten years earlier, would it have changed anything?
What if you’d never gone at all?
Beckett suddenly feels weary, and begins to wonder why he came. He stands there, imagining the Stars and Stripes fluttering and the anthem playing, until his oxygen warning begins to sound, beneath a black sky and brown Earth.
He sleeps again on the journey back, dreaming of drawings of da Vinci’s flying machines, Florentine streets, chapel ceilings, drinking red wine with Adrienne.
...
When he returns, it’s one o’clock in the morning, Greenwich Mean Time. He’s missed his daily call, not that it makes a difference any more. Still, it’s best to keep to routines in this place. He boots up the base computer, cycling through the Sites. The live – well, one-second-delayed-live- camera feeds are still active, and he wonders why he needs to see the pictures as he calls, as if they were placed there by a mocking tormentor. Beckett brings up Site 19. The entrance guard tower has collapsed on top of the central building, and it looks like the cafeteria is now gone. The sky is a swirling, roaring mass of dust and sulfur, masonry and debris bouncing past like tumbleweeds, the leftovers of the human race.
Same ol’, same ol’.
He taps the transmitter button.
Hello, Site 19. Hello, overseers. Still not coming to get me, yeah?
Maybe Werney stepped into that portal and found his way back there. Maybe he finally found his sense of humour, and messed with the computer before he left. Everything’s back to normal there, and everyone’s sitting in the cafeteria right now, preparing my surprise party.
Werney, can you hear me? I know you can hear me, you bastard. Go back into that portal and come back here right now, you hear me? I want you back here.
“Werney, you bastard, I want you back,” Beckett mutters. “O5s, you can come here too, you hear me? You’ve got some explaining to do, and I don’t give a shit how much more you get paid or what super powers you have.”
I want a bottle of wine to drink with her, I want to see Italy again, I want – I want to see a real fucking ocean again! Not a fucking moon ocean, a real one, with real fucking water!”
Beckett slumps over the computer console, shaking with sobs.
“I want to turn on a TV and – and – and – see you say Legionnaire worked, it blew up that alien piece of shit, and it’s not the end of the world any more, it’s just es-see-pea two-three-nine-nine, it’s neutral – neutra – neutralized, and we sent that thing to hell.”
“I want my fucking world back.”
Placing Jane In The Dungeon, Odin Plans To Have Malekith Come To Them, But Valuing The Safety Of The People Of Asgard, Thor Wants To Take Jane To Them To Keep Them Away From Asgard And While Malekith Pulls The Aether Out Of Jane, Thor Will Destroy The Aether And Malekith...
But Believing That Thor's Plan Is Too Risky, Odin Tells Him No And That It's Far Greater If They Just Do Nothing And Just Wait And As Risk As Many Asgardian Lives As Possible...
However, Unwilling To Take This Risk, Thor Attempts Talking With Heimdall About Letting Him Use The Bifrost But Unfortunately Odin Has Ordered The Bifrost Closed With No One Allowed To Come Or Go In Asgard And Of Course, Heimdall Will Not Disobey Odin's Wishes..
But Knowing That Malekith Will Return And That Odin Is Acting Out Of Grief Over Frigga's Death, Heimdall Asks Thor What He Needs..
Gathering Fandral, Volstagg And Sif, Thor Manages To Get Them To Help Him To The Point Of Knowing That It Will Either Bring Them Exile Or Death But Again Knowing That The Bifrost Is Closed, Heimdall Reminds The Heroes That There Are Other Paths Off Asgard That Only A Few Know But Namely One...
That's Right, Thor Goes To Get Loki To Help Him Get Off Of Asgard Knowing That He Wants Vengeance Against The Dark Elves For Killing Frigga, But Thor Warns Loki That If He Tries To Betray Him That He Will Kill Him...
With Loki Taking Over The Boat, Fandral Abandons Ship To Deal With An Asgardian Boat Behind Them While Loki Shows Thor The Secret Passageway To Svartalfheim...
Arriving On Svartalfheim, Thor And Loki Have A Bit Of An Argument Before Having Somewhat Of A Brotherly Moment As Malekith Senses The Aether On The Planet....
Back On Earth, However, Darcy And Her Assistant Manage To Get Erik Selvig Out Of The Insane Asylum, But When They Do, A Group Of Starlings Go Through A Portal And Reappear Out Of The Sewers Beneath Them, Happy He's Not Insane, Erik Tells Darcy To Take Him To Jane's Lab...
Arriving Where Malekith's Ship Is, Thor Releases Loki From His Binds Only To Immediately Betray Him...
(Sarcastically) What A Surprise...
Stabbing Thor In The Chest And Cutting Off His Hand, Loki Gives Jane To Malekith As A Gift On The Condition That He Gets A Good Seat To Watch Asgard Burn...
Accepting Loki's Offer, Malekith Takes The Aether From Jane But What Malekith Doesn't Know Is That...
With Malekith Defeated, Thor Returns To Asgard To Tell His Father, Odin That While He Will Protect The Nine Realms Till His Last Breath, He Cannot Be King Because He Would Rather Be A Great Man Than A Great King...
Giving Odin Mijonir, He Tells Thor That Mijonir Belongs To Him So Long As He Is Worthy, However, Odin Is Unable To Give Thor His Blessing, But Simply Tells Him To Go...
As Thor Leaves, We Get A Surprise As Odin Transforms Into Loki...
Allow Me To Explain, While Thor And Jane Reunited With Selvig, Darcy And Her Assistant, Odin Was Visted By A Guard Who Went To Svartalfheim And Discovered Loki's Body And It's Actually Revealed Here That The Guard Was Loki, Who Survived His "Death" On Svartalfheim...
As The Credits Roll We Get A Mid Credits Scene, With Sif And Volstagg On A Planet We Would Come To Know Later As Knowhere Where They Meet With The Collector (Played By Benicio Del Toro) To Give Him The Aether As The Tesseract Is On Asgard And It Is Unwise To Have 2 Infinity Stones In The Same Place...
After More Credits Roll We Get An End Credits Scene Where Thor Returns To Earth And Reunites With Jane (Or So We Think!) That Is Not Natalie Portman In This Scene, That Is Elsa Pataky, Wife Of Thor Himself, Chris Hemsworth (Yeah It's Natalie In The Apartment But Outside It's Entirely Elsa)
Why?
Well, Apparently Natalie Portman Was Told That She Was Working With Patty Jenkins On The Movie But When Patty Dropped Out Of Directing The Movie And They Were Passed To Game Of Thrones Director Alan Taylor, Natalie Was Pissed And Didn't Want To Do The Picture...
However, Being Under Contract She Had To Do It...
But After The Picture Was Done Filming, They Asked Her To Come Back To Do The End Credits Scene And Natalie Said Screw You To Marvel So, Instead Marvel Got Hemsworth's Fast And Furious Wife In A Brown Wig...
This Movie Is...Okay....
While Not The Best Entry In The Thor Movies, I Wasn't Bored, The Action Scenes Were Good And Both Hemsworth And Hiddleston Did Great, I Thought Kat Dennings Was Funny At Times (Despite People Believing Her To Be Again, The Jar Jar Binks Of The Thor Movies And I'm Glad They're Bringing Her Back For The WandaVision Show On Disney +) And Some Of The Other Actors Like Anthony Hopkins, Rene Russo And Jaimie Alexander Did Good In Their Roles....
But Again Like Iron Man 3 The Problem Is The Bad Guy...
Where On The Mandarin They Royally F-ed Up, This Villain Is Boring And Doesn't Have Enough Character Development With Him To Even Give A Crap About What He's After But Aside From That, I Say See This Movie...
Till Next Time, This Is Duke, Signing Off...
