🚬. . he’s pushing through his late 30’s at best.

🚬. . 5’11.

🚬. . a firm believer he’s a taurus.

🚬. . has native american roots.

🚬. . personality wise .. he’s a bit of a prick and an asshole just to give it to you straight . he will butt heads , he will command orders because technically speaking he’s the leader without saying much, basically has a strict & rough exterior . but with the shit he’s been through.. i don’t blame him. it would be a while once he likes & trusts you….but you’ll know. very few ppl get that side of him.

🚬. . dog person!! wants a dog sooo bad he knows he can’t take care of it unless someone wants to take care it while he’s away from the cabin. he’s ( and everybody else tbh..) out sometimes days or more so he ain’t risking it.

🚬. . whenever he sees stray dogs in the woods doesn’t matter what kind of dog man… he’ll pet it . if he has food in hand will give some to em’.

🚬. . if he keeps seeing the same dog(s) everyday when he’s walking around the woods , will give them a name for sure.

🚬. . definitely has HUNDREDS of pairs of bottom up plaid shirts. in hangers. in one small closet. Not just red like he wears all the time in mh. owns at least yellow , blue , black plaid shirts . rarely ever uses them though lol.

🚬. . smokes like a chimney holy crap. especially whenever he’s uncomfortable or stressed , at least smoke half a packet .. just an excuse not to talk about it.

🚬. . smells like the woods, cigarettes, or cheap shampoo and conditioner. (like old spice, irish spring , ect…)

🚬. . likes his coffee plain black. no questions asked. won’t add any creamer or sugar. just likes it the way it is.

🚬. . he’s probably rlly good at cooking like will cook up some good old eggs, beacon and sausage if he feels like it.

🚬. . snores like SO LOUD OH MY GOODNESS. second would be toby. holy moly. god forbid if there in the same room or your stuck sitting in the same car as them , you ain’t getting a wink of shut eye :( .

🚬. . coughs , coughs, … COUGHS especially whenever he’s running. it’s impossible for him to stay quiet bc of his smoking habits . has to take a break for a bit , lean against a tree and cough his lungs out.. then starts running again.

🚬. . i’ll die on this hill BUT IM SURE he does the old man groan whenever he’s bending down for too long. or putting a hand on his back , bend back a bit and groan hella loud .

🚬. . old man eye squint whenever he reads. for example reading something on his phone and has to reallyyy squint and puts that phone away from his face. YKWIM😭😭??

🚬. . acts like he hates toby but in reality cares so much for him. just can’t bring himself to say it to him bc he’s so stubborn . likes kate because she listens to him without complaining during missions, and gets the job done . same with brian. and TOBY GETS SO M A D .

🚬. .listens to divorce dad music that he’s plays all the time in his car.

➯ this a bit off topic but yk how toby lost his sister at a young age. messed him up quite a bit because Lyra was the only person aside from his mom that was truly kind to him. after burning his neighborhood, he doesn’t really have anybody else. and was taken by slender right after that.

➯ kate one day casually said that toby reminds her of a sibling,toby was taken back and need a few seconds to relies that she’s being serious. he cried a bit when he heard that from her because he never thought he would ever be a good brother bc he wasn’t there for his sister at that time. :(

➯ long story short they hugged each other that day. sworn kate he will protect her knowing full well she can defend herself. he doesn’t want to repeat his trauma. will break him even more if he lost another sibling because of his actions.

Fixing The Seven & Junior Year/Unquangling the Time Quangle:

We can do this guys! We can make it make sense! Let's go!!

Actually, knowing what we know now about the academic workload of junior year, it makes even more sense that Zelda, Ostentatia and Danielle would want to graduate early to avoid all that

And timeline-wise, a couple tweaks and we can make it work - The summer of the Night Yorb happened, and the Seven are coming back to school in those few days after the Night Yorb has been defeated but before the Bad Kids return, because that journey takes time, and it actually makes sense that the Bad Kids start the year a couple days late

So, the Seven’s first day is Aguefort’s last day, he’s there to receive them and break the news and tell them about the GED, but he’s leaving right after on his journey with Ayda

Then, we change T7 a bit so that it’s only during the first semester and all of them graduate early (so they just don’t happen to catch any of the Bad Kid’s mess at the end of the year, and they’re just far from school for the first semester and that’s okay)

Some wackiness to explain why Aguefort is in T7 finale – Tectonya could have contacted him in the Time Quangle to let him know about the Seven’s success, and he goes back to Elmville for a day specifically to receive them and have them officialy graduate, casting time stop so that he isn’t spotted by anyone at the school (which did happen in canon, it was just for no reason, but this would be an actual good reason!). Why would he do this? Because he’s Arthur fucking Aguefort. He’s just silly like that. And I think we can admit the Seven are his favorite students

Also, in ep 1, Penny thinks there isn’t a student council just because Aguefort’s been lying to her about it because he knows she would be amazing and he doesn’t want anyone at school in a position of power more powerful/capable than him - that's just canon

Finally, I want to add an entire missing, subtle subplot to explain Zelda and Gorgug: after they were reunited at the end of spring break, they were fine and good together; and through more Sophomore Year quests (like in Boys Night) and the summer of the Night Yorb, they have learned their lesson and communicated plenty even when apart. However, once Junior Year starts, and Gorgug is super busy with the multiclassing without an MCAT stuff, and Zelda with the maidens and the GED, they just start not having time to prioritize relationships (pun with the JY downtime stats very much intended) and eventually start realizing they’re drifting apart and going in different directions. Zelda didn’t really have her own arc of difficult family or future stuff in T7 like the rest of the group, which hey, I understand the nature of NPCs, and Brennan wasn’t going to narrate a whole other plotline just for and by himself, but it would be very easy to say that Zelda was dealing with a whole other thing in the background - namely, struggling in her relationship and coming to terms with the idea that it would be for the best to break up with her boyfriend, despite them still caring for each other. Ideally, post T7 ending, somewhere at the end of the first semester of JY (in which yeah, slight canon change, Gorgug and Zelda would have been together in until now, but only in the background, like how they were together in T7), they met up at Basrar’s, just like their first date, and had a talk about how Zelda’s graduated now, and how Gorgug’s really busy and how they don’t know how they really fit into each other’s lives anymore. They’ll always love each other, but amicably break up and part ways, each going on to their own adventures.

And I think that's it! All the inconsistencies between seasons I could find. And I do believe it works like this! Lmk if I forgot anything or if there's any reason this doesn't make sense 👍

You only said yes when you were asked by a teacher if you wanted to sign up for camp Know-Where because you thought she said camp Nowhere, but next thing you knew you were on a bus full of nerds. Like, textbook nerds. The kids behind you just kept going on and on about science stuff and it gave you a headache. And when you turned around to tell them to shut up, you met Dustin.

Now you can't seem to shake him away from you, even a year later.

"C'mon, just sit in on this session to see if you like it!" Dustin says, trying to convince you to get into d&d for what seems like the millionth time in the span of this short year in which you've known each other.

"For the last time, I have better things to do, Dustin. Speaking of, you have a book report that you can't afford to get an F on if you wanna keep a good grade." You remind him, sticking a finger into his shoulder, watching red bloom in his cheeks as he rolls his eyes and walks past you into the drama room where Hellfire is held. Unfortunately, even though you prefer being alone, you don't like going places by yourself, so you have to jog to catch up with him.

You've never seen him like this before, his eyes wide and lips parted just barely as he listens so intently to Eddie's theatrical speech, you think not even a tornado passing through would shake him. You sit away from the table, watching as he yells and cheers, going through the most colorful range of emotions you've ever seen.

And when they win, who does he go to? Straight to you, taking you in his arms and squeezing tight. "So!?" He says over the yelling of his fellow Hellfire Club members, a big smile on his face. You just shake your head, letting the boy drag you outside along with Mike and Erica, the promise of his mom paying for pizza being what lures the other two, but it's Dustin that seems to capture your focus. He always seems to do that for you, doesn't he? Even in summer camp.

You've been to Dustin's house countless times, but none where him and Mike are arguing over a pizza and character sheets. The phone has rung about 4 times, his mom calling because Mike has to pack for California to see Will and El for spring break, but the boy just refused to pack on time. When he finally does leave, it's just you and Dustin.

You'd be lying if you said you weren't scared. Not of him, but of yourself. You get this terrible horrible feeling in your chest that you might say something stupid and mess this all up, but it seems like Dustin is one step ahead of you.

"Hey. Hypothetically, what would you say if I.. asked you to the movies this weekend. As a date." He asks you with a slight tilt of his head and a nervous smile. You can't believe your own ears. It's not like you're some science nerd or d&d fanatic like he is, so why you? You don't bother to ask, just grateful this is happening in the first place.

"Hypothetically.. I'd say yes." You reply, your shaky hand finding his own. You hate all this awkward eye contact but you can't seem to look away, not when his eyes seem bluer than normal– god, when did they get so blue?

"Cool.. cool. So.." He starts, trailing off as you nod.

"Yeah. Uh– sure." You say a little too quickly. You're both just laughing a little now, this is just too awkward to take seriously.

But now you've got a date this weekend. And you feel pretty damn good about it.

What if the party/celebration last multiple days and you use that time to get to know them? Everyone is under strict rules not to attack others and there are people overlooking the whole thing so nothing shady happens.

There are games, drinks, food, music, even a lake so everyone can swim, anything you can think of

You could know them outside of the event and finally get to talk while not in battle or you could just want to see the legends in the flesh but you meet them either way. Sparking up conversation with ace is pretty easy considering there’s a high chance you’ve fought him before and talking about the food and making some bets with him is a no brainer.

Around the second to third day Izou ends up walking over and offering some drinks with some of the calmer commanders and you get to chatting, it’s also easy conversation. Asking about how they’ve been and that you’re totally going to beat them the next time you meet as well as telling them about your promotion soon.Pops is listening in and making note to keep an eye on you along with some others.

Getting asked to join the crew and acting surprised and dramatically turning it down “be a pirate?!? Never!!” And turning the question asking if they’d become a marine.

Playing volleyball with some of your stronger crew against them and losing terribly

Winning the bet with ace and him having to do whatever you say(within reason)

All that just to crumble when the clock hit 12:01 and battles start erupting and in all the chaos they come at you, izou flanking you from behind, Marco taking the front and thatch and ace covering your sides. You’re trapped. No way out.

The betrayal makes everything hurt less, too focused on your emotions and you make one two many mistakes.

To be fair you were holding up very nicely, you could’ve gotten away from them with some help but let’s not worry about that now.

I like it - the extra details - and as for if Lake Swimming is possible it's hard to say actually. There's been some inconsistency with the lore of DF users and Sea Stone, but that's to be expected with 25+ years and counting.

Based on how I understand it, Lake Swimming would be out of the question, but swimming pools might not be bad if the water's filtered enough (the idea being that natural water has minerals and the minerals are the issue more than the water itself.) Since Baths and Springs don't have the minerals filtered out, this is why Luffy is seen being weakened in these situations.

But Lake swimming doesn't make or break the idea and the setup - and I like it.

I love the idea of a willful, strong, and fiery marine-darling spending weeks - if not months - as a tiny whirlwind of rage as these big power pirates try to break her without breaking her. It's a very delicate and fine line, and she's not exactly letting them handle her with finesse.

I imagine it becomes a sort of 100 fights thing like Ace had with Whitebeard. They let her fight all she wants, but the ship is their home turf. She's on her own and they aren't.

I can see plenty of questionable and tense moments. Tempers flare and why should they continue to be nice to her, hm? They're just vile pirates, since that's what she thinks and isn't changing her mind no matter how they accommodate her, then why hold back?

Why not take what they want? There's four of them, and one of her, and even if no one else in the crew gets involved, she's not going to be able to stop them. If she won't accept things rationally, then they'll just make her feel so good she won't be able to think enough to resist.

Endless pleasure wears one down just as much as endless pain, but this way they'll enjoy the process along with her. She just has to endure several times more pleasure than any of them and if they fold before her, then she's free to go.

Started writing a little mermay story for TSAMS a couple days ago. Don't really have a story for it yet, just know that it's gonna have both merfolk and pirates in it, as well as sirens.And by sirens I mean both the fish-tailed merfolk siren, and the harpy looking greek myth sirens :>

Now I just need to figure out what it is about, lol. So far it's only vibes, haha! But like, that's how 99% of my stories start! So that's the ususal for me. But it would be nice to have a story. But brain is more busy with designing characters, lol.

Question, if the harpy siren's feathers are pale and dark blue, what colour should their egg they hatched from be? So far I got really dark blue with a pearlescent shimmer to it, but any other suggestions? I'm mostly looking for cool toned colours. :}

And also in the brainstorming era of a Beauty and The Beast AU for TSAMS too, hahah. Not an exact carbon copy of the Disney version, no, it'll be a mix and match of several versions of the story, lol.

So far I have the most important roles filled, (basing said roles off of the Disney movie, haha. btw I love the original Beauty and The Beast movie's intro music, it's so gorgeous it is my favourite disney intro music like ever)

So like I already have who'll be Belle and who'll be Adam/Beast, and who'll be "Belle's" family member, who gets held hostage/threatened by the Beast. I mainly just need the people who will be the castle's staff, and maybe some of the villagers. But that's fine. And of course I don't need to struggle with coming up with a story, cause some random people already did that for me, lol.

Welp, I've been fine for the most part, tho I started the big spring cleaning, so I was tired with that. And only one half of that is done (￣▽￣ˇ)

I've been trying to work on a little mermay fic, but it's been real damn cold here, which made all my motivation disappear. My fingers were freezing off, and my hands hurt because of that. So we turned the heating back on.

I'm also getting ready for my final exams, only the programming one is left, which is made up of 3 different parts, hence why I say exams. I'm honestly terrified I'll somehow fail it.

But I've managed to pass my math exam! :D Dunno the score yet, I can check on the 30th, but I know I passed cuz my math teacher for once in her life decided to do something benefiting her students. So I know everyone from my class passed, which is great!

I've also gotten a new book, entirely a gift cuz one of my friends, the one with a car, had a giftcard for a book store while bringing me home from the math exam, and she's a good cookie and told me I could get a book myself. She's cool

I've also switched with whose home more with Sunray, so now I'm the one doing more chores, but like, that's fine. Tho I'm thinking I should probably find a job for myself as well, though I'd need an online one, because if I get into uni I'll go to one that's hours away from here. So I won't be home much, aside from maybe weekends. Hopefully I can find something, though I'll be honest, I'm not the most optimistic about that :( I'm half tempted to just skip university, but my mother would skin me alive then

Silver Talks AniManga (29/12/24)

Like I said last week there's barely anything this time. Between the anime season ending and magazines being on break for the holidays there wasn't a lot going on this week

(I was gonna yap a bit about stuff here but it turned out a lot longer than I originally planned so I put it under the cut lol)

Since I didn't end up talking about any of the series above this time, instead I wanted to look at this year as a whole

Can't talk much about manga since stuff rarely starts and ends on the same year unless it gets axed, but I have to mention MHA and JJK ending ofc. I was with MHA since basically the start (chap 4), and while I didn't read it (or anything else tbf) for a few years, I caught up a while before it ended, it still felt unreal to see a series that I kept up for 10 years end. As of JJK, I caught up 1 year before it ended, tho in my head it was less time. It had many flaws yes, but it has one my favourite power systems I've seen in any series and the fights were always super cool and easy to follow, I had an absolute blast reading it. I hope I can get to the anime eventually As for axed series, I was very sad seeing MamaYuyu go. The art was great and the paneling was amazing so it was a shame to see it go early (tho 34 chaps is still p good). Really hope to see the artist return sooner rather than later

As for anime, I'm pretty proud of myself. Last year I watched a total of 10 shows (11 if you count the Fate special). This year I watched a whole 29! That's basically triple so that's crazy. It might not seem like a big deal but before I started watching stuff seasonally again last year, the last time I had watched any anime was in 2019 when I watched the broly movie in theaters and finished Jojo P5 and the granblue anime that I had pending with only a handful of eps. Before that, the last time I watched anything seasonal was in spring 2018. If I recall, that's around the time I went to uni and I was way too depressed to anything so I didn't read or watch anything for ages oofies. I don't remember everything that's coming next year, but I'm hoping there's a lot of good shows once again so I can match this year or even pass it

The only thing I would've changed about this year would've been doing more stuff with my backlog. There's a lot of stuff I'd like to catch up with, like the Blue Exorcist manga which I mentioned multiples times, or stuff I'd like to go back to finish that I left hanging, Shokugeki and Dr.Stone manga stand out the most. Not to mention various anime I missed over the years like the new Uma seasons or BtR. But between all the stuff I'm already watching and reading, working and trying to do other stuff in my free time I find it hard to find the energy or motivation to go through the backlog. I know that I just need a little push to get over the initial inertia and then I'll be fine (for each individual thing) but it just hasn't happened yet. Here's hoping I can find the time and will to do that in this coming year 👍

My thoughts and feelings while I work on things-

I think after chapter 3 of WHN is finished, I'll take a break from that project.

Not abandoned, but I think clearing my head from it will do me some good. This month is finishing chapter 3 and the the Tears of the Kingdom fic. If possible a draft of Hope Springs Potatoes

Been researching my goals list for 2025. Or at least started to. Need to budget if I'm truly dedicated on learning the harp. Also pedal versus lyre.

Next I should research that fic a month idea. Force practice on me and also pushes me into not thinking about metrics. Just write thing, publish thing, and then move on. Maybe could mix it up with a draft a month or original short story.

Would help with make writing portfolio bullet point from my list.

Already there's been good progress for the TOTK fic. Mainly it's current me trying to remember what past me meant by certain bullet points. Like what vision used to be up in my head that just lives as a vague sentence now?

Chapter three progress has again been slow. But it's mostly been a real life obligation. The next steps are pretty present in my mind for what needs to happen.

Also thinking through when I'll be over my break for the Bloodborne fic so it can be ready to go in March 2025.

I think next year, October 2025 by the latest, I'll be wrapping up Crow in the Clinic. Worst comes to worst I'll just have really long chapters to fit everything.

this is my review backlog from when i was like getting ground into the ground working at a summercamp lol. ..if my thoughts are really short i probably just wrote it

NOTE FROM WHEN I STARTED THIS IN LIKE JULY: hey guys whats up! i was like "during spring break im going to read so much!" then i had to 'apply' for 'jobs' :( also i was playing so many games (not umineko though. sorry rokkenjima-ers). then like 5 months passed! woops. now i am a college graduate and unemployed 👍so now i have plenty of time to do things like this lol. making a post for these and then for everything in august. skipping the music section also bc i dont feel like it. some things really worth spotlighting were small victories, wrath goddess sing, and honk for jesus.

books:

what feasts at night by t kingfisher: horror novella (?) about a scary house and an ex-soldier. i liked reading ursula vernons reading as always, but this was a bit too short for me to really get a feeling for anything… it also didnt have the same visceral horror as their previous book (what moves the dead) so i was a bit disappointed :(

cathay by ezra pound: a book of tang dynasty poetry translated by notable contemporary poet (and infamous fascist) ezra pound. ts eliot once said that cathay "invented" chinese poetry in the mind of the western reader, which is weird bc he didnt speak a lick of chinese at the time. umm tldr i didnt like this book but i did write 750 words of review including a translation of my own (NOTE FROM TODAY IN OCTOBER: I WROTE THIS LONG ENOUGH AGO FOR CLASS THAT ITS ACTUALLY KINDA EMARRASSING NOW SO PLS BE NICE) if youre interested in that kind of thing lol

wrath goddess sing by maya deane: retelling of achilles where she is a trans woman. dathomira's review of this book can speak more for it than i ever could (and also its been a couple months..) but i really really enjoyed this book. go check it out!

a clear and muddy loss of love by please don't laugh: f/f webnovel. qiyan agula, female prince of the grass plains, has sworn her revenge on the nangong emperor after his reign killed her family and annexed her country. she ends up engaged to the emperor's daughter, nangong jingnu--but their bond makes it harder and harder for qiyan to enact her promised vengance. vibes wise, its kinda like baru cormorant but tilted way farther towards romance than political intrigue. i really loved this!! the way their relationship grows together…. qiyans gender fuckery…. the length of a webnovel really lets you sink into jingnus character development--its such a turnaround that i think it would be hard to do somewhere else. yay i love baihe

year of rice and salt by kim stanley robinson: what if instead of 30% of europe dying from the black plague, 99% of europe died? how would that shape the centuries to come? also, buddhism is here. this book is really well done and really well researched. the audiobook is reaaally good to listen to while travelling--the narrator, uh, doesnt pronounce everything the best but has this really velvety voice that i loved. i had a good time listening to this while driving cross-country (i only did a little of the driving lol) but fell off a little bit after that. also, if anyone knows any books that are more just like the first part let me know!

videogames:

ultrakill: YEAHHH ULTRAKILL HELL IS FULL BLOOD IS FUEL ETC. ok if youre involved in like the trans indie gaming community at all, youve probably? at least heard a teeny bit about ultrakill, which is a fast-paced mega-violent retro FPS about being a robot descending throug hell and KILLING!! i was really unsure about if id like this personally (jumpy, didnt like ovewatch or most fps ive played) but like. dude. ive sunk so many hours into ultrakill this month. im literally on the last layer rn (the game is currently in early access, but theres plenty to do). people call this game overwhelming, but i guess ive felt that since its a single player game its way Less overwhelming than something like um, ovewatch again lol. ultrakill's blood-to-heal mechanic encourages the player to get close and dirty, and there are tons of mechanics that sound as cool as they feel--punching bullets back at the enemy, ricocheting coins into weak points, etc. also gabriel is here!!! i like him a lot :3 theres a free demo here if it seems like its up your alley

yakuza 0: a brawler game set in glitzy 80's japan, following kazuma kiryus rise to power within the yakuza--at least i think thats whats going on? after all, hes the protagonist of like 5 other games also called "yakuza." this game glories in violence and materialism (you use money instead of xp to upgrade your abilities) and it has a gritty story full of sad-eyed men smoking, backstabbing, and losing everything. yakuzas one of those series that kinda hangs around in the background with a couple people Absolutely Obsessed with it, so its nice to see it live up to the hype. im only on chapter 3 (out of 16?) so far, but im really enjoying it :3 of course, yakuza is famous for having lots of minigames but ive only sampled a couple of them so i dont feel like i can really comment on that yet. some of the cutscenes are kinda long but the voice acting is really good…. i usually do stuff like make my bed or fold laundry while im watching lol. id recommend it so far :3

neon white: scratches the ultrakill speedrunning itch but if the only part of ultrakill was speedrunning and the gritty visual element was replaced by like, smooth apple-style celestial gloss (theres no ground pound even!). in ultrakill you get a beautiful array of tools (guns) to solve the same problem (killing a guy) in multiple ways but with neon white theres essentially one perfectly bite sized (most missions are 30 seconds or less) solution and you just have to get as close to it as you can. brought down of course by the extremely corny writing and voice acting, which at least has the decency to be sincere--it grew on me, but not by much. having cutscenes interrupt the mission sets was also deeply frustrating. IT FUCKS THE FLOW, MAN. anyways still a really really good game with an amazing soundtrack that i would recommend for any first person platform likers or speedrunners

rabbit and steel: just a really fun mmo-type (GCD-based) game! for like, wow/ffxiv raiders who wish those games had fewer cutscenes to sit through haha or potential raiders who dont want to put together a static…

ghost trick: afaik, shu takumi's only standalone mystery game. a ghost detective investigates the mystery behind his death by possessing objects and tricking on them, ghost style. um the ghost trick fandom is very strident about playing spoilerless, and i do think that was definitely good! some of the twists here are pretty crazy. but, like, i think that insistence made me think that ghost trick was going to be "lifechangingly good" instead of just "very good" -- which it is! the puzzles are very clever and fun and the writing is, of course, really funny, charming, and heartfelt. but i couldnt help but be just a little bit disappointed? still a good game though.

balatro: poker game where all the rules are malleable--for the right price. dude balatro made it so much harder for me to pass my finals. really good game if u are a numbers type of person (or maybe really bad) i think i would have sunk a LOT more time into this if pikmin hadnt come around

tv/movies:

dear ex (rewatch): i already talked about this on one of my [other posts] but rewatching it was good :3 i cried again

brave bang bravern: bravern is like… a pastiche of the mecha genre? that mixes like, gritty war mecha shows with fluffy sentai-like shows that ultimately ends up having a lot of heart and sincerity. and also gay people?? idk i really liked it but i think u kinda have to be mecha-pilled at least a little bit already for sure

shogun: woops i forgot to finish watching this. well its a drama about this british sailor who shipwrecks on japan in the middle of a power grab (by tokugawa) really fun! unfortunately i frequently do not have the attention span for hour long episodes unless someone makes me do it

honk for jesus: drama? about the wife of a megachurch pastor who is trying to stage his big return. about what she gets from staying with him, what she endures and what she inflicts on others as a result. (also, image!) really interesting to watch as someone who knows very little about megachurches, with some fantastic acting

life is short girl walk on: sort of an anti-romcom? about one girls wild night out. soo so so pretty it really captures when youre like out really late with your more adventurous friends and youre like wow literally anything could happen rn. definitely worth a watch 👍

challengers: bro all the filmheads saw challengers its the tennis threesome movie. its really good enough said

i saw the tv glow: i watched this movie on a shitty tv interrupted by gambling ads like three times and it still ripped my dick off. man. not a lot to say about this one bc i already talked about it a bunch with other people but i think everyone should watch it

marcel the shell with shoes on: slice of life movie about, well, a living shell. with shoes on. actually really really good?? i was so surprised (the trailer is like accurate but at the same time makes it seem kinda hallmark twee) and like it is a little bit cutesy but not in a way that diminishes the movie itself or its messaging.. i think it being pretty offbeat and also the internet elements (?) also helped balance this. has the pikmin element of "wow being small really helps you to marvel at the world's beauty in a new way" while also being about connection and grief.

the bad guys: animal heist movie. its pretty good even if i don't like akwafina very much at all. fun and soothingly predictable with nice art

podcasts:

small victories: small victories is a slice of life/drama podcast about marisol, a recovering drug addict trying to put her life back together--and it's really going to happen this time, for sure! marisol has such a clear and engaging voice (and her voice actor is so great!) that you can't help but root for her no matter what, even when she messes up horrendously. it made me go like this o_o 🫢 alone in my room like i was eavesdropping on a breaking up couple at a party

This is why I never could be a ted talker lol (I'm already thinking in advices like..."break a sweat at least once a day", " first make sure to know the wood's moisture levels before woodworking" (seriously got some bad stories of expensive projects gone wrong like that lol)" , "take life less seriously, express yourself, don't keep shit in. and just have yourselves a killer time" 💀👍) Anyways I'll give it a shot. If anything, I know the current condition of society is soulless, self-centered and cold. We're rewarded for ruthless and self-centered behavior alike, even, walking around with axes for hands and dreaming of all the riches. But please continue to show some heart. A kinder place in which every individual feels genuinely safe/heard/seen enough to thrive truly starts with you. Leave a legacy of smiles and hope to inspire one or two people with that. 27. any nicknames? Friends and my dad shorten my name to Mich. lol Dutchies are serious, timid and dull folks overall who don't throw around cute nicknames sadly.
