me thinking about the moment in the movie where leo is fighting krangified raph and he is feeling so much pressure and so much stress and guilt and he is so so scared for his family and for raph especially because he just wants to get raph out safely, he just wants his brother with him and their family unharmed and in one piece, but he can’t get through why won’t raph HEAR him why isn’t raph LISTENING he just wants to SAVE HIM why is he making things SO HARD--

and that is the moment where it finally fully clicks for leo, after all this, where raph was coming from at the start of the movie. that it wasn’t about being stubborn or wanting to call all the shots and be the boss, it wasn’t pettiness or raph being hard on them for no reason. it was always just raph wanting them to be safe, and getting scared and frustrated when doing that was difficult. or when, perhaps, certain stinker lil brothers seemed to be going out of their way to make it difficult.

like he really has that hard stop moment of realization while he’s looking directly at raph... at his own reflection u could say... love that

Four kids in our modern world are best friends. They’re fully committed and engaged in the linked LARPing stories they’ve created for themselves. All of their parents worry about their futures with how little it seems they care about anything else in comparison. What if their studies or work opportunities fall by the wayside? Some of them already have. Unfortunately, the teens’ wishes come true in the worst way. Merida meets a real witch- just like her character’s origin story -and makes a wish that her mom would stop worrying about her so much. She knows that she can apply the skills she’s learned to a job and her schooling hasn’t even been affected! Her mom is concerned over, what she sees as, nothing. This wish though, it isn’t like the story (and thank god for that actually) and it makes her mother stop caring about her in general. Merida is forced to start at square one- a place she’s never been at with her mother. Elenor doesn’t understand why this girl, apparently her daughter who she lives with, is so intense. Her husband is angry at her for treating their daughter like a stranger, but she isn’t sure why when she hasn’t even met her before! Elenor then realizes they aren’t suggesting she’s a Step-mother. They’re saying she gave Birth to this girl; and she can’t remember it.

Apparently this device called ‘Nintendo Switch’ is simply for amusement of the people…

Nothing like a demon summoning program to be found…..

Many of these ‘games’ however, placed on cards inserted into the device; one can play these ‘games’.

I have found one such titled ‘shin megami tensei: nocturne’ to be most interesting, as the protagonist can fuse demons much like our samurai ~~ however accomplish this in a different way than them… it appears he himself hath turned into a fiend

I do continually hope that this does not turn any who play these ‘games’ into demons…

A relic merely for amusement and amusement alone so it would seem….

Would I get into trouble with the monastery should this relic go missing? It has piqued my interest and curiosity further…. Might I take it away for further research….

There is also one where you pilot a sprite through hoards of orbs being lobbed all across the screen…. Intriguing music but the gameplay however does provoke quite the anxious feeling ~~~ as if facing off against a hoard of demons alone~~

Stupid. He strokes her red hair as they sit on the couch. If there was one thing dying had taught him it was how much people cared. Especially his close friends.

Hc where Garak knows Julian is a liar, but he can't, for the life of him, know what he's lying about.

Like, he has this feeling, given to him by years of training and an observant eyes, that Julian is very purposefully unauthentic, and it seems that no one else notices.

He sees how Julian talks a lot and overshares, but never really says anything, to the point where his friends would have a hard time answering any question about him, like, for fucks sake, it took reading his file to get to know his date of birth because no one knew.

Jadzia thinks he has a brother, Miles is convinced he has a sister, and Garak is fairly sure he is an only child, the problem is, Julian doesn't talk about it. He talks too much and hardly says anything.

Garak also notices how he is always tense, as if holding back, like when he lets himself be punched when he clearly sees it coming, when he let's things break even though Garak is sure he could've caught them mid air, how he seems to calculate the perfect amount of clumsy in a day (once he even bumped into Garak and pretended to be distracted) and no one notices.

But Garak does, Garak knows he is lying about something, he feels it, specially when he looses on games and arguments, like he could not think of something else but Garak sees it in his eyes that he is hiding something.

And Garak constantly gets worried, despite his best knowledge, about him.

He knows how lonely it is, to keep yourself hidden from the world, to not let anyone know you, to hold the weight of a thousand secrets on his body, and constantly he sees this weight taking it's toll on the doctor.

Julian keeps people at arms length, he gets close on condition, he larps with Miles, discuss literature with Garak and converses with Jadzia, but keeps them all compartmentalized, always distant, even his crush on Jadzia being shallow, no real depth to it.

Julian seems skin deep and Garak knows how it feels and aches for him.

So he constantly tries to scratch the surface, aways tries to get Julian out of his lie made shell like Julian does to him, and he doesn't succeed, but he keeps trying.

Specially after he finds out that Julian had been gone for a month and not even him noticed it, he knows it's because no one would, because Julian keeps so much of himself hidden that you can't distinguish him from a fake.

And then, doctor Zimmermann shows up...

🎇My very own TSOT AU!!🎇

Inspired by northern european vikings and shamanism and all that, hah! More info below!

The inspiration came to me as I was at the live concert of one of my favorite bands, Heilung (I heavily recommend). It made me really want to put the boys in a similar aesthetic, and basing myself on their TSOT characters and character designs felt like the right choice. If you know anything about vikings and northern european shamanism, you will probably notice that my designs don't make any kind of historical sense as it's mostly vibe-based, haha. Those designs KICKED MY ASS!! I had initially started drawing them light-heartedly in my sketchbook, until I realized I had gone too far just to keep them in there and since a bunch of people have been posting really amazing TSOT redesigns, I felt inspired to kick myself in the butt and finally finish them. Of course, the amount of details made the coloring very challenging, not to mention making their silly color schemes work with the vibe that I wanted. Let me tell you, Kyle looked VERY GOOFY for a while and I fumbled with the colors with most of them for much longer than I usually feel comfortable with, LOL. Anyway, I'm glad I pushed myself a bit further than usual because I'm very pleased with the result and quite hyped hahaha. I do have a whole story going on for this AU but it's not polished enough that I feel like writing it down yet. That said, while I initially see this as a proper AU, I do feel like drawing their canon-compliant versions wearing their LARPing costumes LOL. Also, I think Elf Kyle is roughly 2.5/2.8 meters when standing upright, hehe.

In defense of a "Wicked Stepmother":

Sarah's Stepmother in "Labyrinth", named Irene in tie-in media, only gets about a minute of screen time before Sarah rushes off to her room in a soaked snit. Fanfic writers usually turn her into an evil bitch and even the manga sequel, "Return to Labyrinth", has her cold and abusive to Toby, her biological child. But here's the thing...

I think Sarah's mother gets a bum rap.

Dressing nicely for an evening out and having mild conflict with a teenager does not a Lady Tremaine make. And as someone who actually lived with a narcissistic, manipulative, emotionally abusive stepfather, I can tell you that Irene doesn't even come close to wicked step parent territory.

Backstory first. It's never spoken of in the film, but clues in Sarah's room tell us that her real mother is a stage actress who abandoned her and her father for another actor. Sarah idolizes her mother and tries to emulate her with play acting. Sarah's father met and married Irene sometime after Linda ran off, and Sarah, who thinks her mom walks on water, resents the hell out of Irene for taking her place. A place that Linda abandoned for another man.

She couldn't help it. He looked like David Bowie.

Let's look at her first alledged transgression. She won't let Merlin into the house. Instead she orders him into the garage. Heartless, we assume because we all love dogs and only the most soulless of monsters don't. But slow down. She didn't leave him out in the rain. She put him in the garage. Furthermore, Merlin is an Old English Sheepdog. Is he a nice dog? Sure, but he's also a breed that's notorious for being high maintenance and hard to keep clean and right now he's soaking wet and filthy. Irene isn't being cruel, she's trying to keep him from ruining the carpet.

So now Sarah and Irene are in the house about to have their confrontation. "Sarah, you're an hour late..."

Sarah lost track of time. Sarah is the one who screwed up. Irene has every right to be frustrated. For all we know, she and Robert were supposed to see a movie or meet someone and Sarah's tardiness wrecks their plans. Note, please, that while she is frustrated, she's not even yelling. My mom would have screamed bloody murder and then held it over my head for weeks.

"Your father and I go out very rarely..."

"You go out every single weekend!"

There is no way to confirm who is right on this. I will say Sarah is the one prone to hysterics and exaggeration, so it's not looking good for her.

"And I ask you to babysit only if it won't interfere with your plans."

I ask. Irene asks. She doesn't demand, and she doesn't expect Sarah to give up her previous plans.

"Well how would you know what my plans are? You don't even ask me anymore!"

Sarah, you were LARPing in a park by yourself. Furthermore, with the storm you would have gone home anyway.

"Well I assume you would tell me if you had a date. I'd like it if you had a date. You should have dates at your age."

Irene doesn't want Sarah to be a Cinderella stuck at home every night. She wants her to go out and have a social life. This is literally the opposite of the bedtime story Sarah tells Toby later.

Also, "I'd assume you tell me..." Irene might not be wording it in the best way here, but she wants Sarah to communicate with her. She wants them to have a relationship.

Then Robert enters the scene. "Sarah, you're home. We were worried about you."

WE were worried. As in both he and Irene. You think that's the reason she was waiting on the porch? Because their sixteen year old daughter is an hour past when she said she'd be home and now it's raining and getting dark?

It's not like she'd ever talk to a stranger.

Sarah runs up the stairs in a snit, not even acknowledging her father and leaving Irene dismayed. "She treats me like a wicked stepmother in a fairy story no matter what I say." Her voice isn't angry, it's hurt. She's making an effort to reach Sarah, but nothings working. She can't break through the tantrums and the anger and the hero worship of Linda.

Sarah is a fantasy junkie. It's all over her room. Her books are all fairy tales. Her dog and her teddy bear are named after figures from Arthurian legend. But she's wrapped herself in a different kind of fantasy, a toxic one. One where Irene, well meaning and kind, is one of the evil stepmothers from her fairytale books, while Linda is good and virtuous like one of the dead moms at the beginning. Except Linda isn't dead. She's shtupping a costar.

Part of Sarah's coming of age and maturity is rejecting Jareth, the stand in for her mother's lover and therefore finally rejecting following her mother's selfish path. We see her finally let go of Linda by putting her picture and clippings in the drawer. Hopefully, the next morning, after she picks the confetti out of her hair, she'll finally be able to start over with Irene.
