my hot take on the golden globes pt 2 👍
next up: the outfits
seriously i have not been this in awe of the fits at an award show in a LONG time. Every dress was stunning. The makeup - glowy and perfect. the suits were handsome!
I could not stop staring at Margot Robbie in the front! Her and Brad were severe eye candy. And lemme just show a FEW of the icons that I gasped at seeing tonight:
Jenna Ortega in Gucci!
Letitia Wright in Prada dress! With matching glowy blush!
This isn't capturing the full beauty but Margot Robbie! And she's in *gasp* Chanel! And it actually looks good for once!
Michelle Yeoh in this glittery dress ahh!
Jeremy Pope serving a LOOK!
The iconic Billy Porter in his ballgown-tux!
And Austin Butler looking classy and just so handsome dammit.

Dame Margaret Natalie Smith, CH, DBE 28th of December, 1934 — 27th of September, 2024
She received numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, five BAFTA Awards, four Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and a Tony Award, as well as nominations for six Laurence Olivier Awards. She was one of the few performers to earn the Triple Crown of Acting.
“ Do not be stilled by anger or grief. Burn them both and use that fuel to keep moving. Look up at the clouds and tip your head way back so the roofs of the houses disappear. Keep moving. ” — Dame Maggie Smith in her memoir; You Could Make This Place Beautiful (2023)
"My wife and I were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Dame Maggie Smith. As the curtain comes down on a national treasure, we join all those around the world in remembering with the fondest admiration and affection her many great performances and her warmth and wit that shone through both on and off the stage." — King Charles III
"The end of an era of the sheer definition of what it means to be an actor. You created characters that clung to us, moved us, entertained us ...... made us look within. You defied the expectations of age.... crossed generations. You were greatness personified Dame Maggie Smith. 'A lady always knows when it's time to leave' [...] Godspeed ♥️" — Viola Davis
"She was a fierce intellect, a gloriously sharp tongue, could intimidate and charm in the same instant and was, as everyone will tell you, extremely funny... The word legend is overused but if it applies to anyone in our industry then it applies to her." — co-star in Harry Potter, Daniel Radcliffe
"Maggie Smith was a truly great actress, and we were more than fortunate to be part of the last act in her stellar career. She was a joy to write for, subtle, many-layered, intelligent, funny and heart-breaking. Working with her has been the greatest privilege of my career, and I will never forget her." — Downton Abbey creator, Julian Fellowes
"Maggie Smith was a great woman and a brilliant actress. I still can’t believe I was lucky enough to work with the “one-of-a-kind”. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family … RIP." — co-star in Sister Act & Sister Act 2: Back In The Habit, Whoopi Goldberg
"When I was younger I had no idea of Maggie’s legend – the woman I was fortunate enough to share space with. It is only as I’ve become an adult that I’ve come to appreciate that I shared the screen with a true definition of greatness." — co-star in the Harry Potter film series, Emma Watson
"Heartbroken to hear about Maggie. She was so special, always hilarious and always kind. I feel incredibly lucky to have shared a set with her and particularly lucky to have shared a dance." — co-star in the Harry Potter film series, Rupert Grint
"Anyone who ever shared a scene with Maggie will attest to her sharp eye, sharp wit and formidable talent," on-screen son in Downton Abbey, Hugh Bonneville
"I had the unforgettable experience of working with her; sharing a two-shot was like being paired with a lion. She could eat anyone alive, and often did. But funny, and great company. And suffered no fools. We will never see another. God speed, Ms. Smith!" — co-star in Suddenly, Last Summer, Rob Lowe

Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Sebastian Stan to Be Honored at Deauville Film Festival
Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams and Sebastian Stan will be honored at the Deauville American Film Festival which celebrates this year its 50th anniversary in the seaside town of French Normandy.
Portman and Williams will receive the Deauville Talent Award for their career achievements, while Stan will be honored with the Hollywood Rising Star Award.
“Portman has always taken on demanding roles (…) that are marked by this ambivalent presence, a mixture of strength and fragility. She has proven throughout her career that she can play all kinds of characters with depth and accuracy,” stated the Deauville Film Festival which is under the new leadership of Aude Hesbert.
Portman earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role in Todd Haynes’ “May December” which was presented at the Deauville Film Festival in 2023. The actor was already celebrated last year with a Deauville honorary tribute but was not able to attend the festival due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
She previously won an Oscar for her performance in “Black Swan” and earned two Oscar nominations for her parts in Pablo Larrain’s “Jackie” and Mike Nichols’ “Closer.”
Williams, who will also be on hand in Deauville to receive the career tribute, has earned five Oscar nominations, most recently for her role opposite Paul Dano in Steven Spielberg’s “The Fabelmans.” She has also delivered acclaimed performances in “Blue Valentine,” “Wendy and Lucy,” “My Week With Marilyn” and “Manchester by the Sea.”
“From Wim Wenders to Martin Scorsese, from Todd Haynes to Steven Spielberg via Kelly Reichardt, she stands out as one of the most emblematic contemporary actresses with a magnetic gesture, as intense as it is delicate,” stated the Deauville Festival, who also praised Williams for her “admirable artistic freedom.”
Stan, meanwhile, recently delivered a buzzed about performance as a young Donald Trump in Ali Abbasi’s “The Apprentice” which world premiered at Cannes, and also starred in Aaron Schimberg’s “A Different Man.” Deauville Festival praised Stan for his “talent and audacity.”
This year’s Hollywood Rising Star honorees also include Daisy Ridley. The festival previously feted Emilia Clarke, Ana de Armas, Paul Dano, and Robert Pattinson, Ryan Gosling and Jessica Chastain.
Another anticipated highlight of this edition will be the ‘Focus’ on Cannes’ Palme d’Or winner Sean Baker who will present his award-winning movie “Anora,” in addition to four films he directed and have never been released in France, “Four Letter Words,” “Take Out,” “Prince of Broadway” and “Starlet.”
As previously announced, Michael Douglas will be honored at this year’s 50th edition as guest of honor. He will feted on opening night of the festival, on Sept. 6. James Gray will also be celebrated and is set for a masterclass on Sept. 9.
Before joining the Deauville Film Festival, Hesbert worked at Unifrance and most recently headed French film and TV residency program Villa Albertine in Los Angeles. Backed by Chanel, the festival will wrap on Sept. 15.

TS Film Thoughts Masterpost
As promised.
Let's start things off -
Breaking News - Headlines about the film
Dec 9 2022 - her film contract makes headlines
From what I can find, this is the first that anyone knows she is producing a film. There are no details released other than it's a script she wrote and she will be directing the film.
The next we hear is Dec 7, 2023 from the Tennessean --
It's been crickets, essentially. There are no public details I can find about the film anywhere including cast list, release date, content, ETC.
Interestingly, two days ago -- though uncertain of validity of source -
I don't have access to puck so cannot confirm what the article says; but this was recent! So; in theory, she finishes her Eras tour and moves directly in to film.
More on how Disney+ ties in our next section...
Who is Searchlight Pictures?
Created April 29, 1994 - formerly known as Fox Searchlight/under 20th/21st Century Fox
Biggest success: Slumdog Millionaire 187 Academy Ward Nominations with 46 wins; 5 Best Picture since 2009 117 Golden Globe Nominations; 51 wins 66 Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations; 55 wins 137 Independent Spirit Awards, 54 Wins
Other Notable Films: 12 Years A Slave; Black Swan; Napoleon Dynamite;
20th century fox, prior to the creation of Searchlight, was prominent in the specialty and independent films market in the 1990s; it carried this interest into Searchlight, at least initially.
In 2012, it was incorporated into Murdoch's 21st Century Fox. Barf.
On Dec 14, 2017 Disney put their first bid out on 21st Century Fox/Fox Searchlight. On March 19, 2019 the companies merged and Disney acquired Fox Searchlight; Fox News notoriously split independently. Disney dropped the name Fox; so now we have just Searchlight Pictures. There is also a Searchlight Pictures TV and shorts production, which for the sake of time I will not get into.
For Funsies, here is a short film (Jun 18 2019, after Disney acquired) produced by them called....LAVENDER. About a gay man who has a relationship with a married gay couple. Can't make it up.
Anyway, since merging with Disney especially, the company seems to be LGBTQ friendly.
And yes, Joe Alwyn has worked with Searchlight, with tweets I found dating back to 2018 with Searchlight UK. Make of that what you would like, I have no real objective commentary on the matter.
Taylor as a Director
She also directed the Long Pond Studio Sessions and Miss Americana.
Most of her directorial work has been since the Lover debut. Most of which is very queer coded/sapphic.. and again, make of that what you will.
Appearances/Pap Walks, ETC
Since her split from JA, we have seen her with multiple friends in the film industry. Among these: Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Keleigh Teller, Miles Teller, Sophie Turner, Emma Stone...
And dare I say.... Travis Kelce, who seems to want to break his way into the entertainment industry?
(aside from this headline; his failed dating show, his podcast, his multiple PR deals like with ZenWater... etc. I rest my case).
We also know there has been some B roll footage taken at the Chiefs Games.
Additionally, the media coverage of this relationship has been an absolute f*cking circus; with constant headlines of the two and their "engagement" / relationship dynamics. On Taylor's end, we have had constant references to Bejeweled (where she Ghosts); including Keleigh Teller giving her the opal ring.
The Speculation
Yall, this is my opinion - you can agree, disagree, etc; but I have no insider information. Just thoughts.
She makes her film directorial debut with Searchlight - recently acquired by Disney, who is pro-LGBTQ; and is clearly in deep with business deals with them, as seen on Taylor Nation and her Eras Tour Film.
We have rumors of her beginning her film production at the end of the ERAS tour, along with knowledge of her currently with B roll footage from chiefs games. We have multiple highly papp'ed appearances with her + TK; but also with multiple film stars, including Blake Lively (still not over that photo), Sophie Turner (I do think there's altruism here tbh on TS's end), and Keleigh. If you believe Keleigh is her stand in invisible bride.... Holy shit. Between the opal ring shutdown of the media circus as well as her and TS literally taking a page out of TSHOEH and dressing in character...
My ultimate suspicion is that she's using actual experiences of her current life-highly papp'ed - to tell her story. And that Keleigh is her stand in muse in this film.
I also think the @spade-riddles we've been getting about a final act ending, etc, pertain to her film. I don't have evidence aside from speculation.
I rest my case. Enjoy this post and make of it what you will.
