What started as a defense for two innocents accused of being bad snipers turned into a found-footage film about the murder of our mentor. Look, did we murder? Sure. We murdered the rules of narrative storytelling. But nothing more.

For my birthday... read my webcomic! It's literally free! (Unless you want books. Those are not free)
It's beautiful, it's gentle, it's funny, they're canonically t4t and gay... And it's about time traveling vampires solving supernatural mysteries!
I've spent thousands of hours writing and drawing it, and it's really good! I'm not biased!

It's on hiatus right now and coming back in 2 months, so it's the perfect time to get caught up

I think my favorite feeling about BG3, which your comics show, is how hilarious it can be, without demeaning or deterring the emotional attachment. The funny bits don't make the sad parts sting any less, or the catharsis any less gratifying. It makes it such a treasure to play and get immersed in, at least in my opinion.
Yes!! I agree wholeheartedly!
I think one of the most captivating things about this game is that, while the narrative it tells is so big and overwhelming and dark, there are so many charming and funny bits thrown into the game, both in the writing and in all the weird little antics that come with playing a massive video game that can't possibly have all the bugs worked out. But it never feels like it detracts from the experience!
I think it really embodies what playing d&d can be like, and it's wonderful.

Thank you dearly! Your cupcakes are appreciated and your congratulations as well 💙
Rouge and Shadow start eating without so much as a 'thank you', Rouge because she's hungry, Shadow because he's rude. Omega cannot eat. He would be pouting if he had a face.

i just. hit s+ rank in splatoon and i never honestly thought this would happen?? am i cool now.. do i get to be a part of the s4? do i get to be watered down to my running joke all the time?
#the last part is a joke but i do not see a whole lot of recognition of the s4 being. the s4#like yeah they were cool formidable foes in the s1 era and skull even beat goggles despite his plot armor#but now theyre just#there??#dont get me wrong i love their existence but#it feels like theyve been watered down at least a bit#skull is always just getting lost and army is almost always either the manual guy or the curry guy#thats. thats it thats their bits#skull also has the sweets thing#rider is sometimes a considerable foe too but at the same time the s4 doesnt usually consist of him so im not sure how much to count him#that being said it is a kids manga so i dont really expect it to lean too far into the formidable foes thing#even the xblood werent that scary in the long run and ended up goofy despite being who they were#i also get it in terms of fandom#i understand the appeal of something like aloha being cutesy dumb pink guy (who maaaaaaybe commited some crimes and it shows)#i also definitely understand the appeal of army having a thing for curry as well as the manuals#the manuals can be an endearing thing to write about trust me#but i also wouldnt mind seeing more things that center around the likes of the s4 and the xblood and even the best8 being the absolute best#of the best during their prime#reminder that s+ was the highest rank around when the s4 were introduced. same with the xblood#they were the strongest players and id like to see things that center around that#id like to imagine that moving on to the square and splatsville that the s4 would have had a chance to move uo and get into xbattles#i think of all of them skull and army would have the highest chances of actually making it to xrank and being successful#but honestly if mask and aloha could probably make it pretty well too if they got off their asses#and i think rider would excel as well being rider#he has his own kind of near plot armour i think#so do most of the big teams in my opinion#theyre the sort of doomed by the plot that forces them to battle goggles at some point lmao#maybe i could use this in a fic or au one day#maybe someone already has...#(please send to me if you know of any creators who have played around with these vague ideas of strength i wanna see em)

it's so crazy how few historical fiction novels are like sharon kay penman's. the way that they're built out of the skeleton of the historical record seems so obvious, but there's so few people who are actually willing to commit to it in the way that she did. it seems like so often that's just a starting point which gets reformed to fit a coherent narrative, but she makes no real attempt to do that. there's themes and foils and patterns, but first and foremost it is a reconstruction. you can't really know what someone who lived that long ago was like, only what they did, and you can feel how she takes these isolated, dramatic events and builds a whole life around them. the books are nothing more than an answer to the question 'what might someone have been like, what could the history between these people have been, to possibly explain something like this?' the ability to string together a handful of facts and events from medieval chronicles to create people that feel so real, and psychology and relationships that develop so naturally that these distant, seemingly impenetrable choices suddenly feel so immediate and clear is just beyond belief. you know this probably wasn't actually how things happened, but it doesn't matter because it was something like this. the particulars are less important the crushing awareness that at one point all of this made sense. there was a time when all of this was right now. the world is unrecognizable and exactly the same. that's something which sounds very simple but is incredibly difficult to accomplish.
you come to know these people so well, their loves and hatreds and ambitions and failures, and those things are rarely resolved in the end. you know them from the time that they're children, you watch each one of them die, and none of it means anything in particular except that they were a human being. things which seem like they must be building to some tragic fallout end in anticlimax. things which seem utterly inconsequential in the moment manifest again decades later in cataclysmic disaster. and then you see it all play out again from the beginning with their children, and their children's children. all these uncanny echoes, this endlessly unfolding palimpsest of lives, each laid over the triumphs and mistakes of those who came before. i've never read anything so epic with so much mastery over the micro and macro levels of history. it's the minute, seemingly inconsequential everyday details, which build into a lifetime, which builds into generation of lives, which builds into the rise and fall of kingdoms and empires. it's the merciless endlessly turning wheel of fortune that replays the same songs in different keys again and again for all time. a person is both an individual with free will, and the prisoner of their blood and circumstances. somehow everything has infinite weight, is tied to everything that has come before and will come after, is the culmination of someone's entire existence—their pains and joys and fears and hopes—and yet is simultaneously completely meaningless, just one more victim of fate in an endless procession of lives and choices. the whole impotent tragedy of humanity is laid out in front of you and it's so repulsive and beautiful. it's deep love and unfathomable, senseless horror briefly and miraculously reverberating in a vacuum, an absurd aberration fading into silence.
if it's not obvious these books have made me cry like 10 different times

— What if you're just using this as a chance to escape?
— Hmph, Jing Yuan trained you alright...
#Traces#Jingliu#Yanqing#Jing Yuan#Jing Yuan and Yanqing#Jingliu and Jing Yuan#I talk too much#I love everything this exchange says about the three of them ugh#He did! And no one would know better than her!#Blade recognises the traces of Jingliu in Yanqing when they fight. But Jingliu recognises Jing Yuan's#I love how telling both instances are. The intimacy in both recognitions‚ as well as the intimacy in both acts of passing on knowledge#Jingliu didn't teach Yanqing#Are we to believe he picked up that last move in the boss fight against Dan Heng and Blade from this moment with her?#idk perhaps that's the intention but I always thought it was Jing Yuan teaching him this last grand move#similar to what he used against Jingliu in that one short. It makes more sense to me and I find it moving#That the taught Yanqing so closely to her teachings that Blade could recognise her#And it's moving too that in one comment Jingliu sees in this wide eyed young boy the traces of Jing Yuan#I like too that she recognises Jing Yuan's way of thinking and machinations and Blade sees her swordmanship#The two traits at which they excel is what shows on Yanqing. Which I think is at the same time telling of Jing Yuan's way of teaching#(if we take Yanqing didn't learn the move from Jingliu)#Ugh I got carried away again. But I love this topic I'm never able to help myself#I'm going to have to change the tag's order though#Anyway... It's also moving and heartbreaking and reflects a lot of intimacy the fact that Jingliu knows Blade's capabilities so well#that she is sure Yanqing isn't a match for him‚ and we see her being right during their fight (both their fights)#Blade also doesn't flinch. He laughs and smiles as if having a good time‚ as Jingliu herself said she did during this mission#It's very different to the distressed angry frightful face we see him sport in his confrontation with Jingliu in the last trailer#'Even with your strength‚ if you were to cross paths with Blade‚ it would mean death for you'‚ she tells Yanqing. And she's right#Also this puts into perspective a bit why Jing Yuan doesn't think of himself a good swordsman#Jingliu perhaps talks as if Blade were better. Jing Yuan is aware he isn't a natural at all and Jingliu states this as well#But for Yanqing Jing Yuan is the best. That all gives us a lot of information. This is very juicy to analyse but I've run out of tags xD

A Moment of Gratitude and Reflection
There are times when life offers us a mirror, moments when we are asked to pause and consider the path we’ve walked. Recently, I experienced one of those moments—a recognition of my spiritual journey that has deeply moved me. After a reflective interview process that explored the winding road I’ve travelled and the transformative experiences that shaped my understanding, I was honoured to be…
