When you say “rich people” to anyone middle class they’ll probably think of billionaires like Musk or Bezos. A lot of these people have the “eat the rich” mentality, but they don’t realize that they are part of the problem.

One friend of mine goes on two vacations a year for two weeks, and they always complain no matter where they go. I was looking at vacation photos with another friend and they were complaining about how when they went to London for their 16th birthday they only got to stay for five days, but when their sibling went they got to stay for eleven. My sister’s boyfriend is in Florida for a week and a half and according to her he’s done nothing but complain about the trip.

I have so many stories like that of friends who don’t consider their families “rich” but they’ve had experiences that are so far removed from those of other people.

“Im just middle class” you have a grand piano and one smaller piano, not to mention the keyboard downstairs. This isn’t what you see in most households.

I think it’s great if you come from a household where you are afforded those luxuries. I wish everyone could have three pianos and travel out of the country twice a year or spend a few weeks in their Florida home—just remember that most people can’t afford that. Just be mindful if you’re about to complain to someone that Florida is too boring or that you can only spend a few days out of the country that some people would kill to still experience that.

i can’t hate read about the lives of rich people otherwise i’ll have blood pressure problems.. they say shit like “we had to push back our yearly summer europe trip by a month and our normal villa was booked so we had to go somewhere with six bedrooms instead of eight and it’s SO hot in italy this time of year😭” and it’s real to them. like that’s a real thing they’re experiencing and view as “a problem.” that’s what they’re struggling with, right now, in this day and age. what if i killed you with my bare hands

If you've ever told a person who's had to be bedbound for a period of time that you wish you could "just stay in bed", DO IT.

Stay in bed. For days. But don't get up if someone needs you to, or you get bored, or you get antsy. Don't do anything other than rest. Just lie in your bed, whether you need to get stuff done around the house or socialize or anything else "productive". You'll have to cancel on people, you'll disappoint them, they won't understand.

And if you're thinking, "well, i CAN'T just be in bed. There's stuff that has to be done - I have plans", maybe ask yourself why you assumed a disabled person doesn't have plans or things to do or desires.

Staying In or Going Out?

I was out on the patio just jamming to some music, to be specific, Huey Lewis, a man I consider my generation Frank Sinatra. My wife enters my tranquil moment to tell me she would like us to go out this weekend to dinner. I informed her that new studies say that staying in, is the new going out. So what do you say? Can we order from somewhere and have DoorDash do the work for us? And we'll just get cozy. She didn't seem real thrilled, but I'm not the one who made stayin' in the new going out. I did mention how we really haven't connected like a husband and wife recently. Perhaps tonight after we eat we could turn the heat up on some things. Sometimes your man just needs to be a man. My lady reached out took my hand and said"Oh honey, let's take care of that problem right now". I thought, "Really, Wow"! My wife said: Yes Dear you take those two bags of garbage on the back porch out back to the garbage can. It's Tash pick up day tomorrow. You big strong man. Staying in might be the new going out, but I don't think it's going to increase a husband's chances of getting lucky.

The birthday was birthdayed.

Went shopping… I have 4 more Fiskars pencil sharpeners to add to my hoard. Sadly, someone else bought that other bolt of upholstery fabric I went back for. I wandered the aisles of a Dollar Tree looking for a tiny notebook, left with all the weird flavors of Dots. Inevitably found a new little notebook elsewhere — which now contains all 58+ usernames/emails/passwords arranged by site function.

Then there is the cheesecake I was a tad bit late preparing because I spent a good hour on that password notebook. I assure you capital letters, numbers, and special characters have never helped me remember a password. New York style cheesecake with cream cheese, sour cream, and flour.

Oh, and the hollyhocks are blooming.

going through the hades 2 stuff and im sorry but i just have to ramble a second because look at Hephaestus

he's not just a wheelchair user but also an amputee. an above knee amputee. wheelchair users are already next to nonexistant in video games but amputees exist in this really...disheartening? spot where they're pretty much just reduced to "person with a cybernetic limb" - it's always just somewhere from "just a cool visual design" to flat out "superpower". I can't think of a video game amputee that is actually disabled by their limb differences - I'm all for futuristic worlds where prosthetics and other disability aids are far advanced from what they are now, but that's not really what's implied by these designs. They're just... Cool designs that in no way reflect on the real-world experience of being an amputee.

Look at Hephaestus, though. Look at that prosthetic. Whilst stylised it very much looks like it functions like common mechanical knees - knee bends when thigh is lifted, knee straightens when thigh is lowered. He's a wheelchair user as well as a prosthetic user - every prosthetic user I know is also a wheelchair user as a prosthetic is not usable in every occasion and also cause exhaustion and pain if used constantly.

Whilst we can't see much of his wheelchair the position he's sat in and the wheels very much evoke active wheelchair to me - this carries on to very specifically the thickness of his arms. Whilst a lot of Hades designs are muscular Hephaestus has very noticeably thick arms - which makes sense, as active wheelchairs require a lot of arm strength.

Just overall this design is making me want to cry - he's not just an actual wheelchair user in a video game, he's a realistic depiction of an amputee, a disability usually brushed over in order to give a character a fun design quirk and nothing else. He's fat and he's hot and he's a realistic depiction of an above knee amputee. Oh my god. Oh my god?

1/26/24 - fitblr... the hunger omg

So one of the things I've noticed that ALWAYS HAPPENS whenever I start an exercise regimen from nothing again is THE HUNGER. OMFG I AM SO HUNGRY ALLLLLLLL OF THE TIME!!!!

It's damn frustrating. I feel like I'm hungry every few hours and it seems like I'll nosh on a little something, drink some water and then BAM, like 2 to 3 hours later I'm RAVENOUS.

Fiance and I walked to the library and back today instead of going fo the pool because his neck and shoulders are hurting because of either a gym injury or from sleeping funny. I can't believe how tired I feel from doing a mile walk and that my back feels a bit stiff. We opted to go out to eat at a nice local sit in Chinese restaurant. We could have walked on the way back from the library but we opted to drive because I had originally planned on making dinner, but I just felt ravenous and just blindly hungry and a little tired. I like going out to eat on Friday because honestly it's nice to have something to look forward to and I don't usually feel up for cooking come Friday.

We have movies from the library planned for later.

Granted, that’s probably not the first thing Danny should be saying to the guy that just bit the curb, but in his defense; he’s not running on 100% right now either.

The man -- tall, towering, and broader than Danny is tall -- whips around on his heel, black frayed cape flaring out impressively. Danny would've whistled in appreciation, but he takes the time instead to wipe the back of his hand across his mouth, smearing the blood running from his nose across his cheek.

"Sorry." He blinks widely, not even flinching as the man with the horns zeroes in on him. "That was rude of me. I have a really bad brain-to-mouth filter; Sam says its what always gets me into trouble."

And she's not wrong either, per say. His smart mouth is what landed him in this situation -- with blood blossom extract running through his veins and cannibalizing the ectoplasm in his bloodstream. Thanks Vlad.

The man grunts at him; a short, curt "hm" that shouldn't make Danny smile, but he does because he's somewhat delirious and probably concussed. The man keeps some kind of distance, sinking towards the shadows of Gotham's alleyway like he dares to melt right into it.

If it's supposed to scare Danny, it doesn't work. Danny's never been afraid of the dark; he's always been able to hide himself in it. He blinks slowly at the mass of shadows.

"You look hurt." The shadows says, blurring together around the edges. Danny squints, and licks his lips to get the blood dripping down his chin off. Ugh, he hates the taste of blood.

"I am." He says, "My godfather poisoned me. M'dying." The agony of the blood blossom eating him from the inside out looped back around to numbing a while ago, so all he feels is half-awake and dazed.

"Hey," Danny stumbles forward towards the man, a bloodied hand reaching out to him. "You-- you're a hero, right? You're not attacking me; which is more than I can say for most costumed people I've met." Maybe it's a poor bar to judge someone at, but he's already established that Danny's not in his right mind.

The man makes no change in expression, but Danny realizes blearily that it's hard to tell with the shadows on his face. He stays still long enough for Danny to latch onto the cape -- stretchy, but almost soft under his fingers.

He looks up blearily into the whites of the man's eyes. "Can you help me? I don't-- I don't wanna die." Again. He doesn't wanna die again. He blinks slow and lizard-like. "I mean- I'll probably get to see mom and dad again, but I told them I'd at least try and make it to adulthood."

There's a clatter down the street, and Danny's ghost sense chills up his spine and leaves a bitter, ashy taste in his mouth. He immediately knows who it belongs to even before the deceptively gentle; "Daniel?" echoes down the way.

"Daniel? Quit your games, badger, Gotham is dangerous for children."

Danny's mouth pulls back, and blood spills against his tongue. "Please." He rasps, and grabs onto the shadow's cape with both hands. "Please. He's going to kill me. Please--"

"Daniel? Is that you?"

His lips part, dragging in air to plead with the darkness again. He doesn't need to, the whites of his eyes narrow, and the cape whirls around him before Danny can blink. Soon swaddled in shadows, the Night lifts him up, and steals him away.
