Idea on What the God Slayers of Fairy Tail Are

So, this idea for God Slayers came to me randomly as I thought about them for a potential story I'm working on.

What if God Slayers are just the byproduct of Dragon Slayer magic research?

Basically, like with the Dragon Slayer Lacrima, Dragon Slayer magic was experimented on and 'upgraded' to 'God Slayer' magic. The magic was upgraded by using the life-manipulating properties of Black Arts (giving God Slayer magic elements their black-tinted color). With the Black Arts, they take away the dragonification aspects while enhancing the basic aspects of Dragon Slayer magic (such as eating their element). When the magic was completed, the creators believed it was capable of killing gods, hence the name.

I thought it was a nice way to describe the origin of God Slayer Magic.

Sometimes I think about how the only God Slayers seen in Fairy Tail are ones that are direct parallels to Dragon Slayers. How God Slayers have practically the only form of a Dragon Slayer's element that actively hurts them to eat. And it starts making headcanons spawn like bunnies in my brain.

Dragon Slayers are Becoming Boring

Honestly this probably isn’t even a hot-take at this point if you consider the argument. The Dragon Slayers are becoming the same repeats and we get nothing interesting.

THIS WILL HOLD SPOILERS FOR 100 YEAR QUEST

Out of all the slaying types in Fairy Tail, the most we know about is Dragon Slaying. This is no surprise. After all, one of the central characters to the story is a dragon slayer and a few members of Fairy Tail also match him in this regard. It is no surprise that Dragon Slaying magic is a heavy part of the series, which it showcases through most of its arcs.  We have enemies that are Dragon Slayers as well and even ranges from different generations all the way from first generation to fifth generation (as of 100 year quest). They range in strength, durability, and background but they all just blend together at some point. I don’t really even count as the “fourth generation” as a generation as I’m pretty sure they were just robot like things in the Dragon Cry movie and not actual people. At least the fifth generation does something different, giving them their power based off the dragons that they have consumed. There could be more out there, but I’m tired of exploring Dragon Slayer magic. You know what also is a part of the gang that gets no screen time and we know pretty much nothing about? Devil Slayer Magic. The potential for this could be wild, but we really get nothing outside of what Gray learned from Silver. I don’t even think Bloodman explained much. Out of the three slayers we know that have/had Devil Slaying magic, all three of them have an ice form of it. Surely there are more versions of this magic. I feel like Devil Slaying was just a cop out of some sorts to get the audience excited and to give Gray a well deserved power boost, but we got nothing out of it. The other magic we know nothing of is God Slaying magic. Despite the different characters we know have it, we know nothing of it. We don’t know anything about the few gods. Its a shame due to Natsu literally fighting one and I though Dimaria was cool with her power up. But we really know nothing about how they obtain their power. I mean, Cherria is Sherry’s cousin and still we know nothing about how her whole god slaying magic works.  It is very unfortunate because there are plenty of paths for these villains to take in order to bring out more world building in the magic system, but we will probably never know about it. Fairy Tail was and will always will be centered around these dragons. While there are more for them to come up with for these dragons, it would be nice to take a break. Anyways, what are your thoughts? I’m interested to see what you all think about the slaying magics and where we could go from here. Though I think there are endless miles of potential for it at this point.

"H-Hold on..." He said, staring up at you shyly. He'd always had the softest spot for you and no matter how confident he could be, no matter how resilient- he never could tell you no. That's what had him sitting on his own bedroom floor with you in his lap, kissing down his jaw without any shame for knowing neither had confessed yet.

"Sh-Shouldn't we talk about this first...?" He asked weakly, swallowing thickly as his head rolled to the side to give you more room. This felt so taboo, and yet he had no intent to stop it. "Hey..." He shuddered while your lips brushed his throat, but his palms stayed planted on the floor.

He could never pinpoint what it was about you that made him so shy. Maybe it was you dazzling smile or the mischievous glint your eyes would have when you had an idea that would get him in trouble. Kinda like right now. You were smirking at him for above, peppering his face with kisses, giggling at his blushed cheeks and furrowed brows.

"I'm seriou- ahh..." He sighed, melting when your lips brushed the shell of his ear. Your playful giggle rang in his ears as he tried to muster the willpower to stop you, to make you talk things out with him. "W-Wait, please-" He begged, trembling under your touch, but his arms betrayed him, pulling you closer instead of pushing you away. "Just talk to me, you know I hate it when you get all cryptic..."

"What would you like me to say, big guy?" You finally mused, breath hot on his ear.

"That you like me...?" He confessed with red cheeks. "T-That you keep kissing on me because you want be my..." He didn't have the heart to finish his thought, the embarrassment becoming too much to bare.

"Oh, but I do like you..." You smirk deviously. "And I do want to be whatever it is you want me to be." You didn't miss how his infectious, dopey grin cracked across his face at your confirmation. "There's that cute smile..." You giggled, settling back into his lap as he melted against your touch like butter in a pan. "Now, where where we?"
