still dont see how so many people say that dawntrail is poorly written in comparison to other expansions like. what, did you realize you had to learn about a new culture and immediately not care anymore lmao? you've done it before, was this one not white enough for you?

genuinely i think more people should do side quests during msq so idk you can form a heart about the characters you're interacting with if you struggle with that and understand the land better so when impactful shit happens your illiterate ass can actually read and have empathy. theres no excuse for this.

if you can't handle storybuilding and character introductions from the expansion that feels like stormblood and shadowbringers had passionate gay sex that got one of them pregnant and birthed a beautiful daughter they both love and care about then idk what to tell you, maybe youre just lame and can't read. best of luck with that.

the thing with sonic 3 is I can't even be too mad at it. I knew that was going to happen. i love action too much. sonic and shadow had a high speed chase, shadow did the akira slide up a fucking building and then they beat each other up on the moon man. i am a weak weak man when it comes to cool as fuck action scenes and they made that movie for me, I was partly blind to everything else that was happening tbh. I actually will have to rewatch this movie to say anything coherent about it

#i have my criticisms obviously but also at this point i think i can be more lenient #cause like. this is the third movie man.. at this point they just have to work with whatever world they've made for these movies and the #rules they've created with that universe so it feels too late to discuss why the writers made the choices they made #of course some of it ks still weird as fuck dont get me wrong #ugh i will actually have to rewatch that movie to say anything that makes sense #but like. idk I can't really get mad at stuff I've seen people be made about regarding things like sonics decisions #in this movie like him trying to take revenge and stuff #like yeah it doesnt make sense for game sonic but. this isn't that sonic and if it was that sonic then the movies would be something #completely different. probably better and would resonate better with fans and i really wish they actually stuck with game sonic as Sonic's #personality for the movies but At This Point i don't really feel like complaining about it lmao #I will however forever complain about movie knuckles because god.#and you know what i even thought the was alright in the movie. like the show was so abysmal i was happy to #get anything with him that wasn't just completely completely terrible #idk my feelings are very mixed #i dislike so much about this movie but also... action ^^ god i love action like that sooo much it was epikkk #sonic 3

If you like BG3 go play p:wotr!!!! You won't regret it.#I'm over 70 hours in and not even 2/3rds of the way done with the game. A true completionist run can apparently take 200 hours.#and the characters are amazing the story is incredible #the mythic path system blows my socks off. It's so unique and awesome and I wish more games had something like it #AND it goes all the way to level 20 #it's based off the pathfinder rulesystem which is in some ways similar to dnd but different in others.#and this sexy lady is in it!!!!#also: being evil is ***actually*** a viable path in this game.#you don't lose out on any content by being evil. you can choose your alignment and in just about every conversation there's evil options.#also lawful and chaotic ones.#hell you can literally become a lich or a demon and go full-throttle evil.#this game is so fucking amazing and in some ways I think it's actually better than bg3.#but I know a lot of people here like bg3 for the aesthetic elements (mods + character customization + stunning visuals)#so those people probably won't care about p:wotr.#but if you're like me and you like playing RPGs based on tabletop systems and you like interesting stories then you should totally play.

tbh her party comp changes pretty often outside of bull. solas is brought along 2nd most often but the 3rd slot changes everytime she heads out or for different missions/areas. i put dorian bc i always default to him if i dont know who else to bring... me and my inquisitors' ride or die fr

idle worship is HER song it perfectly encapsulates her feelings about being the "herald" specifically "Hey, baby I'm not your superhuman / And if that's what you want / I hate to let you down" !!! a lot of the songs are kind of angry at the world bc over the course of the game mirela becomes very disillusioned with the world that she's been tasked to save. she lets herself marinate in the frustration of her culture and personhood being dismissed at every turn (hahren solas is Not helping in this department), by the end she just wants this chapter of her life to be over.

the first time u slay a dragon in dai u get a wartable mission that is like "people are throwing a party over you killing a dragon!" and its like ok why am i not invited then? lowkey think they dont like me fr.

We ought to write more Pokemon fic some time. We want to recreate the Pokemon Manners/Human Manners cheat sheet that we made a few years ago we think that this site would like the Sliding Scale Of Politeness When Greeting A New Pokemon You've Never Met Before.

#we speak #writing #we grew up with pmd games and we feel like the way that pmd pokemon's dialogue tends to be excessively... direct?#should be a feature and not a bug when any pokemon that you meet might be totally unfamiliar with your species and biology #it's probably very polite to start up front with some basic facts about yourself so they know how to act going forward #the very upfront feel to dialogue also very much helps with keeping the dialogue feel more... pokemon #people mock the series for weird npc dialogue a lot but we think that taking these things literally makes for more fun society building #it doesn't all have to fit with socially acceptable for our world we think. polite in our world isn't even consistent by household.#sometimes a polite interaction sounds like “hello! i'm poochyena! i like to chase people and bite!”#name and immediately socially useful information. now you know about the chasing people and biting so you don't assume it's rude #of course poochyena bites and chases people. it likes to do that. you can say you don't like that and it might stop doing that to You #but it will not stop biting and chasing people because that's what it likes to do and it will probably only befriend people okay with that #it makes a very specific dialogue feel that's very fun to do. we like how the pokemon world tends to treat any sort of like #disability or “weird” things as something that you just say out the gate and everyones like “oh okay”#and then treat that as Part Of Interactions going forwards. there are a surprising amount of parts of the pokemon manga #that are dedicated to working around a character's disability after one or all of their means of dealing with it get taken out #admittedly we aren't that caught up on newer content but we find the way that it tends to be just Accepted as very refreshing #making the dialogue this direct does also tend to make it read as more “childish” in english and particular because a lot of Maturity's jus #learning how to dance around what you're saying or phrase it in different ways to get your idea across differently #whereas here everything is just as direct as possible. “i don't like charmander”. “i like roasting berries”. “i want to dig things up”.#all pokemon dialogue tends to go towards being exceedingly simple and it makes for some very distinct writing #especially when you have to tackle complex situations with characters who probably dont employ that sort of vocabulary #though we personally enjoy doing this sort of stuff your mileage may vary ofc #we are biased towards this sort of thins because we find it MUCH more fun to build up what we're talking about from blocks #than to like. try and use more indirect wording that may lose things in translation #unfortunately this is not fun in irl conversation. everyone has to be on the same page and you need to use the same playbook to communicate #we REALLY wish people said what they meant though. we're really tired of being asked shit like “is this accessible”#when what they mean is “can you climb these stairs” a question which depends on the day our energy level and how things have been going #there are a lot of things we could say that would make us feel like some sort of anti sjw type guy and a lot of em boil down to just #"for the love of god dont dance around a Sensitive Topic just get to the point and ask us about it this just makes things harder for everyo

also also I know everyone likes to talk about how good of an archon Venti is because he left mondstadt to do its own thing and hey look Zhongli's doing the same now with his retirement but I also like how the story shows it isn't without flaws, with so much freedom in the city it's all too easy to take control with power, Mondstadt's people may be free but they also don't have a god to actually uphold the ideal they stand for and how personal freedoms conflict, discrimination(eg. against Eula and her clan) is allowed because the people are free to do whatever they want, the fatui really wormed their way into mondstadt during the webtoon + nearly did with Davalin bc the people of mondstadt do whatever they want so Jean is overworked and the knights are ineffective(according to Diluc), and how mondstadt might have been the least free place for the common people during the Lawrences rule despite being the region governed by the archon of freedom

Zhongli at least first tested his people were ready before retiring, Venti kinda acended, organized a bunch of celebrations for his people, then left them to have fun with their newfound freedom only interveining when things get really bad
