i have so much to say about this stupid show oh my gosh where do i even start?

honestly i just miss the older episodes of the show, like season 1, when it was just silly demon comedy and viv wasnt trying to add depth to the characters. even though originally i liked the idea of more depth in the show when episode 7 happened. but clearly viv doesnt know how to write characters. blitz(obviously cuz hes the main character) and verosika(somehow) are the only half decent characters imo. but thats not saying much

i love the shorts though. they feel like mini season 1 episodes.

in episode 7, it introduced a conflict between stolas and blitz. but then it put it off the ENTIRE SEASON til full moon which was 8 episodes. and in those 8 episodes, blitz and stolas just acted like nothing happened?? no mention of it at all?

and full moon was hyped up so much for what? there was like 5 minutes of actual stolitz. the entire episode was basically about the cherubs, agents, and blitz buying sex toys.

and all the conflict is so fucking forced. all these fucks need to do is communicate omg. like in full moon , if stolas let blitz talk to him at the end, we'd be done. blitz clearly has a hard time opening up and being vunerable but he was about to actually talk with stolas BUT NO stolas teleports him outside so they can stretch it on a couple more episodes! and then in sinsmas when stolas and octavia are fighting if octavia just listened, it would be over. but of course, we still need more drama even though the show was better WITHOUT it.

mastermind wasnt all that good tbh. i feel like it needed more time. and the fake out deaths bored me. viv already confirmed that the end of season 1 would have canon stolitz so obviously they werent gonna kill blitz or stolas. but andrealphus' plan made no sense. like, it completely depended on stolas watching tv at the exact time the broadcast happened and there being no live delay. comedy was actually pretty good though. and the stolas poor arc seems fun.

and the only slightly good that came out of the stolitz mess was ghostfuckers(aka the millie episode) cuz blitz was sad abt stolas. but im very glad we got that because i started watching around like episode 2 release(which means i waited 4 YEARS) and i always really liked millie(i love strong women) and im actually quite happy with it even if blitz was still technically in the spotlight more. but also shes pregnant. wow. but i feel like the show needed something like that. because i doubt they can stretch the octavia and stolas shit a whole seasons length. so their gonna need something else to bring drama because they love drama.

and unhappy campers. i fucking hate unhappy campers. it baited everyone into thinking it was the millie episode. but she says like two lines that mean something for her character. and moxie felt so ooc too. it was so unfunny. i watched it straight faced. season 2 hasnt been focused on comedy as much as before and its obvious. but usually i at least let out a small chuckle once or twice. BUT NOT THIS EPISODE. and the barbie wire stuff felt shoved in. it literally came out of nowhere. it was just such a shit episode entirely.

fucking stolas used to be my favorite character but all the self-victimizing shit was so annoying especially in apology tour. he said blitz made him uncomfortable but what about all the times he made others umcomfortable? like in harvest moon, when he called blitz blitzy in front of everyone and blitz is clearly embarrassed?? and when he started talking about blitz' dick IN FRONT OF HIS DAUGHTER??? stop acting like a victim, stolas. you arent. i think maybe he got a little better in sinsmas but barely. and this isnt story related, but stolas' voice actor has such a good vocal range?? like the apology tour song blew me away. i love his voice so much.

oh my god, dont get me started on how viv treats octavia.. i used to love octavia and still kinda do... but now theres 3 episodes of just her being mad at her father and its getting REALLY repetitive. and yea, she does have the right to be mad at him because stolas sacrificed himself for blitz, thinking he would die(even if he didnt) which probably hurt her a lot. but i was hoping sinsmas would show us more of her as a person, like her hobbies(ig they showed her singing but so does everyone else in the show soo), her interests, literally anything about her but her being mad at stolas. i was hoping we'd finally see how her and stella feel about eachother. but no. they talked once but could you even call it talking cuz all stella did was take her phone while laughing and octavia didnt say anything. she was clearly annoyed with her mother but that doesnt really give us a dynamic. and also in stolas and vias argument at the end of sinsmas, it felt like she was purposely taking everything he said the wrong way just for more drama. especially about the happy pills thing. stolas said she was the only good thing in his life so she then says shes an obligation. LIKE NO, hes saying he cares. which yea, he might kinda be bad dad but he does try his hardest and she could at least acknowledge that but still be disappointed.

and stella. i was hoping they would end up doing something with her like giving her a back story that made her so bitchy or something. but then the first ep of season 2 turns her into just a villian. she was just born evil apparently because that totally happens. shes literally nothing but a plot device. and im not against plot devices if they actually do their job. like isha from arcane for example, shes a plot device for jinx development but she actually does her job. shes interesting enough and gives you all you need from a plot device. but stella literally just leaves you wanting more. shes barely a character. we know nothing about her. all she does is start more meaningless drama. shes not even likable as a villain.

now, verosika(AKA best character). shes actually kind of well written? i wish we had more of her this season but also dont because they probably wouldve ruined her too. she only had a 5 minute convo with blitz in apology tour but it made me love her so much more. and her trying to help others after blitz hurt them like he hurt her is so sweet. and then her giving blitz cake, acknowedgling he hates himself just as much as everyone else at this party. i love her sm bro. unrelated but her design is so nice. and she looks so good in all her outfits. loved her fit in the 1 second of screentime she had in mastermind. and i immdediatley recognized her voice in the chrsitmas party song and got so happy

also on the official yt video for the verosika song, the second comment said "I guess Blitzo finally enjoys her music now after, I can imagine, years of it tormenting him with guilt and regret" and i would like to agree with that statement.

My opinion on the finale episodes below the cut. Obviously spoiler warning lol

First of all. I see people say it was really underwhelming and i kinda have to agree? It wasnt a Bad ending or a lazy one or whatever words have been thrown around tho imo. I feel like with all the hype about how "painful" and emotional itll be from the VA and from everyone, we all just expected more tragic outcomes or something.

I am dissappointed because of that as well. I liked how Simon finally reflected a bit and had some self awareness about their situation with Betty. I loved that he didnt become Ice King again or that they didnt do some actual time travel to "fix" stuff. I also liked that they didnt necessarily made him a bad husband (?/boyfriend?) he kinda just never realised that Betty has been putting more into their duo than he was.

That doesnt make him innocent tho b4 someone comes at me. He was a bit too self absorbed but i dont think he was entirely selfish either. He was a person who made mistakes and didnt realise them. The line where he said smt like "i wish we could have talked like this before" also makes it pretty clear to me that Betty never really spoke up about these things either. Golbetty had to make him aware and tbh? I think that was more Golb than Betty.

The whole Scarab ordeal felt a bit. Ehhhhhh I dont know. His anger reaction to things suddenly becoming "canon" (lmao) was very nice to see but him being allowed to wreck havoc like that for a good while felt more like an excuse to bring the others into this world. I dont have a problem with it btw i just dont see the point why we need Farmwold Jay and Little... I forgot her name damn. Also whys Babyworld Finn here 😭 (i get it, he was in the tank, i dont mean literally i mean Why)

As much as i was soooo mad when LSP freed the scarabs it was very in character. I like how it was a thing that he likes animals from the start so it wasnt senseless stupidity, it was something he would do even tho it was the wrong thing to do. Made me pause and lay down to stare at the ceiling in frustration for a solid minute i cant lie, still in chacter tho.

But alas. I like how in the end it all didnt turn magical (completely since ig its partially magical with Cake and everything else) and how Cake finally cooled down about the crown. IM ALSO SO HAPPY THEY KEEP IN TOUCH WITH SIMON OVER THE PHONEEE!! But yea him wanting to move was so real and I hope he does lmao he deserves it.

I only kinda wish they made him reconnect with Marcy a bit more. I am actually pretty dissappointed that we dont know if he ended up reaching out to her more or not. I understand his situation with not wanting to spook her, i actually feel that bit in a soul connecting level good god, but idk. Im at least happy he is Literally in therapy now

(Kinda makes me wonder tho if he spent the time between the end of AT and the start of FC with no like therapist or psychologist. Just rawdogging his mental illness about everything. Mood tbh but like did he? Did he??)

Anyway despite my slight dissappointment i am actually pretty happy with the outcome. I really liked the theories and the ideas of how Simon may make FC magical or what he will become but tbh this is probably the best outcome. Everyone got a happy/hopeful ending (minus Farmwold Finn ig who im atp assuming is dead. Also Star Marceline and PB) which i am really REALLY happy about.

I gotta say I already wanna write fanfic about these guys so inspirational effect granted. Woooo.

Tldr

I was kinda dissappointed because it was overhyped about how emotional it will be when it really wasnt but other than that I am really happy about how the ending turned out save for the alternatives staying in FC

that being said though... given that they've announced the casting for an original character (with possibly another one on the way) as well as the PJO Villains of the Week aka circe, polyphemus, tantalus, im really wondering if the background campers are going to be featured in this season since no casting has been announced for them. chris in season 1 was announced and had publicity despite having pretty much fuck-all contribution to the story; so if no casting is announced for the campers we meet in sea of monsters (stolls, silena, beckendorf), it probably means that theyre not in the story or are just literally passing, no-lines cameos/easter eggs. that would be ABSOLUTE bullshit because som spends more time in chb than tlt, and having known/named camper characters is essential to the whole logic of how camp fucking runs in the first place, which would tie into the whole cabin inequality thing that is the seed of luke's wrath in the first place. luke's anger at his father and at the gods is incomplete without the backdrop of camp half blood.

the small screen is a very good medium for expanding on chb and background demigods; unfortunately the first season just pretty much treats it like a checkpoint for percy to pass through. adaptations will always have changes, but those changes should be made for the better and in the spirit of the original source, so if the writers' room is ignoring the untapped potential that the background campers could have while creating entirely new characters, thats... troubling. to say the least

on one hand i really am not confident in the show's writing but on the other im just happy to have another canon rogue/ta member :3 and anyway i have way too much experience just using canon as a springboard and completely ignoring everything else lmfao

yes i do! crying is good for us humans, gets rid of the unneeded hormones and built up stuff.

i wanted to see barbie first but it was a friends night out, we were 6 ppl in total and we all went together. and yeah, it didnt need to be seen on the cinema screen tbh. but i dont think id be able to sit through the whole movie if it wasnt forcefully projected into my eye balls. it is an interesting movie, but i know id be skipping some scenes by myself.

some of the visuall metaphors, like oppenheimer having sex w his lover in front of everyone in the eyes of his wife, was impactful. bcuz the way it is portrayed, you first assume its bcuz shes jealous but later it is revealed that she is actually mad that oppie would lay himself bare in front of these men and not defend himself. the main assumption and the wifes real thoughts are very different, which directly lets us know that we dont know these people and making assumptions about their personal lives is not up to us.

and like, oppie having a panic attack basically during the "celebration" of the bomb and he steps on an imagined dead body thats been burnt to crisp. for such a tragedy for all the 100s of thousands ppl dead and the horrors of the war, human mind cannot comprehend such big events. but it can see and recognize a burnt body. that was a very impactful scene for that reason. we do not even see the bomb landing on japan, we just hear about it. bcuz the movie is about the man, not the bomb.

i appriciate the fact that they tried to not force us to sympathize with oppie but rather show that he was a human that created one of the worst things a human has ever created.

and i enjoyed the parallels of oppenheimer and prometheus, not bcuz they are similar stories. but bcuz oppenheimer was a mere mortal but he was seen similar to a fucking titan, a primal being that was formed before even the gods had. and see the hubris of humanity and the idiolization of men.

Life is going well! An old friend came to visit me and we spent a lot of nice girl time together. I missed her a lot. The job is going good as well.

anyways i just woke up and i feel like last night was a dream. my whole body is aching and i might have to stay in bed for a week but it was all completely worth it. and i would do it a million times again. i have literally no words to describe the feeling of seeing louis in the flesh, it was the most overwhelming, exhilarating thing and i just think about how big and beautiful his smile was and start crying all over again. he sounded LIKE A FUCKING ANGEL and looked like one too. i think he looked at me??? like i also think i might be delusional but there was one point where everyone was a little stagnant filming kmm and i was literally going feral and jumping to the song (i was scaring myself, especially considering that i had physically never felt worse) and he stopped to look and flip me off😳 (could’ve been someone else but there was no sign around and it looked like he looked at me so i’m gonna just say that yes this is true even tho i’m not sure)

BUT THATS NOT IT. WHEN I WASNT FILMING I SWEAR TO GOD HE POINTED AT ME AND MY FRIEND A GOOD FEW TIMES?? i was so proud bc we ended up throwing away our cardboard for a sign but still might have got some response? it meant i had nothing big to hold and when i pocketed my phone i could just dance and jump and scream and point like it was the last day of my life or some shit. and i think he noticed? i hope he did.

even if not – seeing him so up close and in his element like that was something i’ll never forget. he really is perfect. he smashed all of the songs - kmm, we made it, little black dress and 7 were so hype, the first three songs all i could do was shake and cry tbh, and DEFENCELESS and THROUGH THE DARK !!! man they were so amazing with the crowd. otb had me just staring at him and the flags around me in complete awe. when he just WALKED OFF STAGE LIKE THAT i didn’t know what to do with myself. i stood there in shock and then my friend dragged me to the train station. i am dead i have died i have been finished by this man who i still think that if i tried to touch, my hand would go straight though him because there is no way this amount of beauty is possible.

I truly don’t know what to expect with Kanthony in S3, concerning possible sex scenes or generally. There’s no precedent with a former lead couple now being put on the back burner.

I do think the show views Polin as a “it couple” and it’s not wrong — their book is probably tied with TVWLM as the favorite of the series. With the general viewers, though, I don’t think it’s unfair to say they’re not beloved (yet - everyone did a 180 on Anthony, but I also think JB as an actor was a *huge* difference maker there; plus Anthony’s sympathetic backstory. At any rate…) Like, the day they announced Polin as S3, the Twitter reaction was pretty negative, and I mean casuals, not the fandom. So I do think they’ll be careful to make sure Kanthony won’t pull focus from them too much as they make Polin a credible couple to regular viewers. And imo that means little if any K/A sex scenes, which would possibly highlight the difference in chemistry between the couples. Also I wonder if they’ll return to form with the gratuitous sex of S1 after all the complaining about S2’s relative chastity. Even if they do, they’ll probably show Benedict fucking around, until halfway thru when the main couple do. I know it’s been a thing that Anthony’s ass has been out in the first few minutes of both seasons and it could be fun to do that with him and Kate. Tbh Kanthony (and especially JB/Anthony) ultimately won in S2 in that they didn’t have to have Regé’s shadow immediately looming. But that’s not the case now, and there will be more direct comparisons between subsequent couples and prior ones.

I agree that I hope the kanthony storyline is mostly divorced from the main romance one. I dunno how realistic this is considering it seems likely they’ll be living at the main house. And they keep reiterating they’re the “head of the household” - so the problem solvers. The idea of K/A having to conspire to solve the LW thing and spare the family their umpteenth scandal gives me second hand embarrassment idk. I love how Kate somehow never spoke to a Featherington in S2 and wish it could stay that way lol. I hope it’s mostly Anthony supporting Kate’s emotional arc, her being Viscountess, and the baby that’s been hinted at a lot. But I have a feeling with how they qued up a Kate/Eloise friendship, they’ll inevitably get drawn into the romance plot, probably with Eloise tattling on Penelope.

God this got so so long pls dont mind me. There are a lot of s3 thoughts in here I've been keeping in me for a long time and i probably wont care much to talk it a whole lot more. But here they are! (its a lot of polin talk which is very unlike me tbh)

Agree with a lot of things you said here! I think the only thing I don't really see is production viewing Kathony chemistry potentially being a detriment to polin. I def think they're focused on polin and don't want to harp on past couples too much bc of screen time/focused narrative purposes, but I think it would be cynical of the show's creators to view their next love story as something that can be so easily overshadowed. As a shipper, i understand that perspective but in productions eyes Kathony should be nothing more than an added bonus to lure in viewers!

That being said, i do think they are aware that they really have to stick the landing with this one since a lot of people are kinda hesitant to like either character. They’ve def been hyping them, but some of the methods of hype (like posturing colin as a hero) have been odd to me. So like as an example (I haven't been paying too close of attention so someone please correct me if I'm wrong) but any talk of Luke's glo up feels a little weird to me. As friends/coworkers of luke ppl like nicola are just hyping him and colin and I totally get/support that! but if production or promo or interviewers lean into colins glo up, then the insinuation that he needs one in the first place feels a little? insulting? Thats just what luke looks like. It wasnt like with Jonny and those silly sideburns that everyone has opinions about!

I'm interested to see how they intend to deal with polin and their lasting power on the show! Someone like nicola has the most steady career trajectory of any actor on this show in my eyes. People like Rege and Simone broke out big and need to ride that wave so fame and opportunity don't fizzle, but Nicola has steady buzz as an actress and I actually think a lot more likely to get attention from critics/awards because of her recognizability and being a long-time face of the show! (im sure shell do a great job anyway, but that's just how I've been told awards work, a good performance coinciding with a rise to fame. not just the former)

What I mean by all of this is, I know nicola loves the show and the role but will she be famous and busy enough to walk away? Will she be so so expensive that they dont totally have the budget to keep her? Do they have a post LW plot after this season, does it involve her, and does it make her more important to the show than ever? Who knows. Colin and Pen as members of the family dont have a narrative ~necessity~ to be around the way viscount and viscountess do. Now uhh getting into the sex stuff. Their approach has been kinda head scratcher. If i were a polin stan id want the quality of the kathony one with a little more of the frequency of saphne. Its hard to say whether production will stick to their guns on the "only necessary sex scenes" or if they'll take heed of some of the criticism and go back for more raunch. Who knows but i really feel like they'll just do whatever fits their "vision" of the season. CVDs monologue on only wanting the scenes to be "necessary" was imo only that. He wanted the broken up wedding and sex didn't fit into it easily. I think its as simple as that. So how much sex polin has I think depends on how they plan to structure it. Which is anyones guess really.

Benedict will for sure be a whore. and Kathony, if anything, would have something short. Its not like side characters in s1 had drawn out sex scenes! That was only the main couple!

Now rounding back to what we both actually care about, Kathonys future: I really think Kate and Anthony as problem solvers being involved with polin would be a bad move for both couples! Colin, as someone "lacking in purpose" doesn't grow if Anthony is still cleaning up his messes for him. It was a bad move in the book (sorry JQ) and it would be a bad move in the show. I don't think they'll do it imo but they've made worse writing decisions lol.

I also don't think that Kate or Anthony will care (?) that much about Polin? I do think its wrong to say that they will react horribly to the LW reveal (if they even find out). Anthony would be mad at first, and Kate maybe too but they forgive and are ultimately loyal to family. If colin forgives pen, if they get engaged before its resolved like they do in the book, Kathony is sticking with family for no other reason than that's simply what they do. I don't foresee kate having any affinity for Pen, or caring about the featheringtons in any real way. I don't think Anthony gives a single fuck about that family at all tbh. But fam is fam and they'll come around to the match eventually even if there's initial resistance. But like i said i don't think that's something to worry about to much.

Taking your point about Eloise and Kate's relationship at a new angle--her duties as viscountess could coincide w the relationship with El (and hopefully helping with fran's debut with Violet too). Esp Els insecurities with a new sister out on the market, her BFF betraying her and also getting married herself, she will need someone in her corner. If bens being a depressive mess then she'll need someone like kate by her side. This could also def tie into the main plot tho, who knows!

Ultimately how they distribute non polin time will be interesting! A big question mark for me is the portia featherington of it all. She basically had her OWN large and detailed plot with jack. Violet basically got no time independent of her fam first 2 seasons--will portia now get the same treatment or still get her own again? (actually don't answer this. I'll get too bitter and negative when i don't wanna be). And will adding in fran content take up a lot of time? They need to build up the younger bridgertons, after all.

So...our Kathony content is contingent on a lot. We're probably all overestimating how much they can actually do with them, but the speculation is fun :)

updates after beating the game:

i know the general white sequence is pretty widely hated on but i honestly wasnt especially bothered by it? it's a decently funny joke that gets cut off RIGHT before it wouldve become actually tedious. im much more bothered by the fact that the trail to fahr outpost is just three straight featureless corridors with no puzzles or anything. chunks of chapters 5-8 unfortunately derive more friction from tossing a bunch of enemies in the way than from actually doing something interesting

having said that, the x-naut fortress is easily the best dungeon in the game. very involved! it's likewise a bit disappointing that the palace of shadow is a largely linear string of challenges lol. the riddle tower was fun though!

i really appreciate the gradual titration of boss/enemy stats. a lot of rpgs just scale enemies by Making Number Higher, and the fact that ttyd's third-last boss can have 50 hp and still be a genuine opponent through application of peripheral mechanics is both fun and reflective of a general design philosophy of making each battle a puzzle in its own right--quintessential rpg stuff! (it also makes the shadow queen's 150 hp hit REALLY hard)

i love the recipe system tbh. there is the sort of longterm strategic implication (the "honey shroom" line as a way to save inventory space) but i also genuinely appreciate how cooking certain items (eg whacka bump) gives you something thats like straightforwardly numerically worse. it's extremely charming and, like many of ttyd's other design decisions, it adds flavour (lol) to the setting and produces a sort of pseudonarrative expressed through a game mechanic. "a shroom steak tastes a lot better than an ultra shroom, but it's less healthy." i love it

it's kind of funny that chapters 4-7 ALL have (at least) a portion where youre forbidden from leaving the chapter setting. i wonder if the recurrence of that element was intentional or if it was just a coincidental consequence of how they were written

the one bit in chapter 7 where you have to make bobbery talk to the fahr outpost mayor does SO much. i would have loved more moments like this tbh! it's the only time anything of that sort happens, and it's the only time you get a sense that any partner other than goombella (& maybe vivian) still "exists" after they join the party, that they have any opinion on (or stake in) what's going on. it's a massive missed opportunity that koops & vivian are the only ones to get a "check-in" at the end of their respective chapters. the person i was playing with remarked that ms mowz became "less of a character" after joining the party, which i think is a great way to sum it up

the rotating starry background on the moon looks sooooo good. it's a shame that's like the most boring, undercooked area in the whole game lmaooo

the last several bosses oh my god

gloomtail was fun. my sort of "tch, nothing is a real challenge" flippance nearly had consequences lol, mario's hp was definitely in the single digits by the end of it

the shadow sirens rematch is really fucking good??? i did NOT remember it being so much fun. when beldam starts whipping out the buffs and debuffs it gets CRAZY. on my first attempt i was careless and goombella went down on like the third turn, and i hadnt brought a life shroom (because of hubris,) so i had to reset (the only time i did that the whole run!) (i refused to go on without seeing all the new tattles lol)

the grodus fight is also great: love the music, the quirky defence/support mechanic, and the variety of weird spells

putting the bowser/kammy fight right after grodus is straight up genius lol. that resource drain puts real pressure on the fight, i wish that kind of thing was done more often. and i looove kammy popping off on the support role

what can i say about shadow queen that hasnt already been said?? the aesthetics are sick, the music is insane, the hand mechanic adds dimension. i love that there's a huge hype/comeback midway through but the final phase isnt just an omnislash-type free win, you still have to actually earn the victory

i didnt know anything about dbz when i was a kid so i never realized the extent to which the "everyone rooting for mario" sequence is like straight up lifted from the final genki-dama lmaooo. it still hits tho ngl

the epilogue where goombella checks in with everyone is very cute (if a bit cheapened by the existence of the postgame lol). it's a nice final sendoff for all the partners. the bit where she says beldam is no longer evil and is now kind to vivian, though...... i get that it's just there to tie vivian's arc up neatly, but it just doesnt stick the landing or feel feasible in light of the way beldam is characterized for the entiiiire game. it's a bit of a disappointing end for THE fan-favourite character. then again, i know better than to expect Cogent Critiques Of The Family from nintendo games lol

i overall had a really good time with it! my strongest feeling, though, is that i still wish it was harder, more willing to put pressure on the player before the final chapter. like i said before, the skill ceiling is crazy high and theres sooo much room for player expression and creativity, which is why it's such a shame that i never really felt put to the test. ive been hearing a lot recently about the existence of challenge mods, though, and im feeling pretty eager to give some of those a try

overall i think writing pining wonwoo was a pure joy for me <3 literally i just really love writing men like... hardcore pining, tbh. literally i wrote enouement so i could write some jihoonie pining for his bestie, and lonely hearts was me wanting wonwoo to pine <3

i think to try and get into more specifics... i think i always liked writing mc interacting with junghoon? in particular their interaction in part 4 at the diner hehe just the flat "oh my god i cannot believe this bitch--" while mc is straight up asking wonwoo out. and in that vein, wonwoo's friends hyping up him in the same part (and teasing him in the next--honestly, any part where wonwoo is "down bad" is something i enjoyed lol)

the lil tidbit about "gaming before marriage" is in my personal fave bits of dialogue from this fic. its def a lil stupid, but it still makes me happy lmao even if no one else feels the same way.

and in that same part (6): the part where wonwoo wears mc's sweater!! i always see fics where the mc wears the guys clothes and idk i just think the reverse can be cute too <3 its partially bc im a chubby gal but like. cmon i wanna see a cute guy wear MY hoodie.

also idk if anyone caught it but i liked the small detail i put in jiyoung going to the library throughout lmao its a subtle nod toward her relationship with hyunwoo!! she was 100% studying those times but like. gotta visit the bf a lil, yknow.

i think for entire parts in particular.... i think 7 is probably high up on my personal ranking. i like the entire fic, sure, but i think the slow realization and hardcore denial of mc's feelings toward wonwoo was fun to write. just the small gestures of him genuinely caring and making sure she's close to him while mc is realizing that she fell for him

i think the small part where mingyu meets junghoon (part 10) and has the "do you want your best friend to be happy? me too." is somewhere up there. i just think the friendships are important here too and both ww + mc having their best friends essentially work together to make sure their friends get their happy ending.

OOH OOH in the same part: wonwoo looking for the books.

someone actually pointed the line but: "They said falling was the best part of love. If it was, then the impact of hitting the ground was the worst." was a general line that i really fuckin loved writing. its not dialogue, but i still really like it. i think i'd maybe word it differently in another draft, but it fully gets across the feeling i wanted to so im happy with it for now.

this is getting long but sfdkjhdsf theres my lil collection of highlights!! i think theres def more stuff i enjoyed (writing mc/sunny was definitely one of them!! i loved being able to write a chubby mc who wasnt fully defined by her weight) but i can get into those later if anyones curious lmao

I agree with Kishimoto never trying to use the girls. The hate they get is not fair. I used to defend Sakura back in the days because I hoped kishi would do her justice. When shippuden started I WAS SO HAPPY because I thought this was the start of something great for Sakura and the girls but NOOOOO. Every time, Sasuke showed kishi turned her brainless. If you compare Naruto's actions and Sakura's actions to sasuke, you'd see they're completely different. What's up with that weird fake love confession scene 😭? It makes her look like she was manipulating Naru. JEEZ.

Also he literally had badass Tenten and Temari with cool useful abilities and he didn't use them ?! TF ?! Thank god for modern authors who treat their characters with respect :)

The way I see it, Sakura's character development in shippuden was always one step forward, two steps back. She gets this really badass scene (like her fight with Sasori and those cool ass medical skills) but is then regressed back into a pining girl in love every time Sauce is on screen or Kishi just throws her in the background YET AGAIN.

I love Sakura's abilities actually. Her brute strength, intelligence, vast knowledge and skill as a medic nin. But what I dislike about her character is how kishi handled her feelings for Sasuke. Naruto and Sakura's obsession with Sasuke was so???? huh??? it was so damn toxic and i never once understood why both Nardo and Sak were so obsessed with him. They were a team for one year???? I mean its great that they care about him alot but Sauce's feelings were kinda valid. His freakin clan died. Id go batshit crazy against my own village too. BUT BESIDES THAT. Both Nart and Sakura's Sasuke obsession was so annoying. 80% of shippuden was literally Keeping up with the Uchihas or Naruto yelling SASUKEH. BUT what irks me so much is the fandom's double standards with both Naruto and Sakura. "Oh Sakura shouldve gotten over her Sasuke obsession" but then turn around and call Naruto's obsession cute and gush about how he's so in love with him!!

Hot take but the only reason why sasunaru is "the most developed ship with the most chemistry" is because theyre both male characters.

I guarantee you if Naruto was a girl and SHE would be the one to have this unhealthy obsession who was chasing around Sasuke, the fandom would shit on Naruto just as much. And if Sasuke were a girl, Sauce would be sidelined like the rest of the female cast and Naruto would have another male character to have a "brotherly bond" with, because thats the only bond Kishimoto is actually good at developing. Yey for male characters having all the screentime and cool assets <333

And about that confession scene, I get her intentions. I really do. I understand that she did that in order to bring him home and that she cares about him but honey, w-why?? Why lie to him about your feelings?? Supposed he DID believe her, then what? then what kishi???? huh??? Some of her fans point the blame on Sai or whatever but I personally dont see why that scene was at all necessary. Maybe to establish Naruto's feelings for her wasnt all that serious? or his maturity? idk man. That scene was such a clusterfuck.

In the end her development in The Last and in Boruto was immaculate. She had one of the best glow ups in the old gen and ironically enough, her character wasn't butchered in Boruto. She got badass scenes she was cheated from in shippuden. I also love how she's finally getting the spotlight she deserves. Unlike the other konoha 12 :,)))

Okay onto the next female character that Kishi completely wasted. My baby. My light. 🙈 AAAHHH HINATAA.

Her shy personality wasnt out of the blue, it wasnt a cutesy waifu trait. Her abusive upbringing made her that way. Her trauma turned her that way. So yeah, sue her if she looked up to Naruto as an inspiration when everyone else in her family treated her like dust. Shit on her for having Naruto's love light in her dark when her own damn father wouldnt even look her in the eye and her entire clan shunned her because she was "weak."
