Anyways its about a human Perry who quits OWCA and adopts the kids after his brother Lawrence and Lawrence's wife Linda die in a car accident (insane premise) and then him and Doof raise the kids with Vanessa? It's literally so wholesome and cute and family friendly, god I love this fic I have to go read it again I wish there was more.

This fanfiction. Lives with me almost every day, I am FURIOUS that there isn't more of it. This is a fic about the members of Rick's group waking up before the apocalypse began but some have their memories of the events to come, so they start gathering, finding each other, and setting up the best location to hunker down. I just for some reason could spend hours reading about their little house mission and the seeds and working on getting generators to the farm, god, the tension of the time ticking down gets me.

This fic, ohohoho. By now you all know I love a social media au, a text fic, anything of the sort. But this fic is creme of the crop of any social media au. It's just so magnificent. It's my fav thing ever, which is found family, and involves my two favorite things to see in a Top Gun fic; icemav adopting the dagger squad post mission, and also the Daggers being shocked and then pissed at Rooster when they discover Mav is married to Ice. Also Ice using sign is always a fucking bonus to me.

I've raved about this fic enough for you all, but once again! This is the og and if I had my way it would go on forever and ever and never end. Especially now that it's ended up on the front lines fighting for aocorro, which you all also know I've recently decided I enjoy.

I Believe We're The Enemy by reginalds , 7/10 chapters, Spartacus (2010), nagron (Nasir/Agron), last updated 8/13/2015.

This fanfiction was last updated in 2015, but I only watched 2010 Spartacus in 2021 and that's what hurts most of all, huh? What a fantastic show. There would probably be a ton more nagron fics on here but I stopped reading unfinished fics from 2012 😔. Like genuinely though I've bled that fandom dry, I've read every single Barca/Pietros fic that exists.

This fic is still being updated, I believe it's just slow because each chapter is an epic. It's just really cool and you all should read it. It's a regency era Harry Potter fic which like, all the ships getting their own plot. Also love love Harry just, growing up rich and cool with his parents lol. I think the dialogue is super fun and I'm very invested in every characters plot so far.

It's so close though!!! I've read every boreo fanfiction that exists too, and for a bummer of a book, it's a bummer of a fandom as well lol. This fic (although it also manages to be a bummer), puts Theo in such a funny predicament that it combats enough of the bummer-ness that I just loved it. And just like almost every other boreo fic, it's stupidly well written.

This is my favorite of my favorite type Bridgerton fics to read, which is Kate and Anthony courting from the beginning instead of the nonsense with Edwina. And this one is just *chefs kiss* I think it's still being updated as well though. Hopefully.

I have pushed this fic before, but once again it is absolutely heartbreaking. I cried seven separate times reading just one of the chapters. I need it finished so I know if it works the fuck out, because I literally cannot handle ghost Robin being stuck watching the boy he loves but can't see him for the rest of Finney's life.

Azaleas and Cicadas by vegarin

Sense8 | Sun/Kwon-Ho | 11k words

Summary

Sun Bak is gone. Even if her innocence could be proven, it's more than likely that he will never see her again. There's nothing tying her to Seoul now, not even revenge. She won't return. That doesn't mean the promise he made shouldn't be kept. His promise to her. Justice will prevail. It will. It has to. Detective Mun slowly recovers from the gunshot wound. Sun Bak is still out there somewhere, and he never expects to see her again. But life has other plans.

This fic is a beautiful exploration of how Sun and Mun's story could've ended. It's Mun's POV and it fills in the gaps left after S02E11's cliffhanger before the finale was released. If there had been no finale, this fic would have been enough to get the closure I needed.

I really enjoyed how quiet it seemed, how Mun's feelings grow in the background and how Sun cares for him even with the distance and all the obstacles separating them.

Additionally, it gave me the joy of seeing Joon-ki arrested. God bless.

In Viktor’s bed. Naked in Viktor’s bed. Beside Viktor. Was there a universe where something like this could happen? Jayce put his head in his hands. “This is just a dream. This can only be a dream.”

From my own comment on this fic: This is it, the most perfect 'in another time, in another place' I've read with them.

I'm a sucker for Fix-It stories and this story is both a Fix-It for the ending and for the soul. It was sweet and horny and also made me feel butterflies in my stomach which earned it a spot in the list.

There was more to that “together” than he wanted to let on. She moved her hand to his chest. She could imagine a pale one next to it easily. Viktor was infuriating, but she knew beauty when she saw it. There was something there. She had always understood why Jayce wanted him. Jayce wants a threesome for his birthday. Mel is a little surprised to find she's happy to oblige. A story told over three parts.

From my own bookmark of this work: the story of the wonderful, very good meljayvik smut.

I can't possibly put into words how much I love this fic. I found it when only the first chapter was out and I subscribed in a second. The writing drew me in immediately and Mel's POV made it exquisite, addictive from start to finish.

Honorable mention to that melvik scene in chapter 2 that made me bark in real life and mumble "what the hell is wrong with me" afterwards. There's nothing wrong with me, the scene was too good, it was a natural reaction.

Summary:

Kevin knows that Neil is really Nathaniel, Neil knows that Kevin is in love with Andrew, and they both know that Andrew will never be romantically available to either of them. Clearly, the only possible solution to this equation is that Neil and Kevin should start hooking up so that they can forget about who they really want to be with. After all, what's one more secret between them? Or, Neil propositions Kevin: why don't they drown their emotional sorrows about Andrew together?

Can I just start by saying: thank you, wyverning.

Usually Kandreil stories are about Andrew and Neil hooking up then Kevin joins them. Sometimes, Andrew and Kevin were hooking up when Neil joins them. Rarely, very rarely, it's Neil and Kevin who get the ball rolling and whenever that happens, we must take a minute to thank the author and their galaxy brain take.

Neil and Kevin are obsessed with each other and that's honestly all you need to know. This fic took that obsession to the next level and brought it to a satisfying conclusion. I swear to God, Andrew's reaction to Kevin and Neil was so in character I had to actively remind myself I was reading kandreil fic and not the forbidden secret extra content with the timeline of kandreil canon.

This fic is delicious start to finish and I've already reread it twice because it really did something to my brain chemistry. Highly recommended for any toxic polycule enjoyers because what they have is unhealthy and addictive and it will make your brain go fuzzy.

Currently, I'd say You and My Hometown just because it's the angstiest complete fic I have and the end goes a few years ahead in their happily ever after.

Yeah sometimes. A couple backhanded compliments, too. Sometimes I wish people would just stop reading it, and if they feel like they have to finish, at least stop commenting if they're not liking it.

I don't consider myself a smut writer, because I tend to think of smut as a separate genre, if that makes sense? I definitely write some smutty scenes, but I don't write pwp or smut for smut's sake (thank you to those of you who do, truly doing the lord's work).

I don't, but there is a Descendants AU in my Schitt's WIP folder lmfao.

Working in canon elements. Which, maybe I should focus on plot and characters instead if I ever want to publish original work whoops.

Descriptions. I don't visualize when I read, so I never really bother with mundane descriptions when I write. I need to remember some readers do need those details when reading, even if I don't.

I won't do it unless it's something I can run by a native speaker.

Even If it's Just Pretend. It's been such a labor of love and some of my absolute favorite lines are in it.

When did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?

July 28-30th, 2022. I watched the first five episodes in one go (in one night!) and then watched the next seven in the next few days (I had to study in between, or I would have binged it in less than 48 hours).

I joined the fandom pretty much immediately? The moment I watch or read something, the first thing I do is going on Tumblr to search for content and other people's reactions. So I entered the Bad Buddy fandom as soon as (actually, even before) I finished watching the show.

Favorite ship(s)

PatPran. Pat and Pran are my 2nd favorite otp between ALL the otps I've ever had (and I've been a professional shipper since I was, like, ten years old).

I love InkPa too, though. They're so soft and amazing and I love them as individual characters. If PatPran weren't in the show, or if they had been written and/or played differently, InkPa would have stolen all my attention, to be honest.

Favorite character(s)

Pran. I don't have enough energy to elaborate right now; it couldn't be anyone else but him.

Favorite episode(s)

Episode 5 and episode 11, but to be honest I love pretty much all the episodes immensely. I guess my other faves are episode 8 and episode 4.

Favorite scene(s)

My favorite scene in the entire show is the rooftop kiss in episode 5, but my favorite PatPran moment is the balcony scene in episode 8.

One thing you would change about the show if you could

Oh, well. I would definetely have the whole Wai-curtain drop thing be handled differently. I love Wai! And I think that what he did was totally IC (and Bad Buddy being set in a universe without homophobia doesn't make it as bad as it could have been otherwise), but I think the narrative needed to be more clear about who was at fault there (definitely not Pran).

I wanted Ink and Pa to kiss. They deserved it.

I wanted tongue (or at least... Idk... open mouths?) in PatPran's beach kiss. (I wanted the scene where Pran bit Pat's lip that was filmed but that they chose not to have in the actual show; what a shame.)

I wish they didn't add the cringey, unrealistic crime subplot in ep9; like, I'm even okay with Pat getting shot, but everything that followed should have been handled differently.

FANARTS

There are countless amazing fanarts of Pat and Pran, but my favorite BB artist is probably @hereforlou, because her style is just too cute to be true and her portrayal of the characters is always so IC.

(If you create fanworks) What are your favorite fanworks that you’ve made?

I made five video edits focused on Bad Buddy, but I don't really like any of them, except maybe this one, which is some sort of tribute I made to the show as a whole.

I made tons of mep parts focused on Bad Buddy/which included Bad Buddy; I made more than 100 parts since I've started video editing about two years ago, and at least 60 of these have something related to BB in them; the point is that I only really like few of them. One day I will upload a collection with just my favorite parts and I'll get back here to link it.

I wrote five PatPran fan fictions in English (although I only actually like three of them) and five PatPran fan fictions in Italian. My favorite in English is I wish I were her; I'm kinda proud of this one, to be honest!

A song that makes you think of bbs (the ones in the show don’t count lol)

I PatPrannize every song I listen to... literally so many songs have me screaming 'Oh my God, this song was written for them!'.

Some classic forbidden love songs like Rewrite the stars or Secret love song, one that's super sweet and I think captures PatPran's spirit a lot is also Enchanted, then you have Angel, baby which also fits them a lot, Exile is also very PatPran coded, a lot of angsty songs are made for them, in all honesty.

Yes: I've been obsessed about Bad Buddy since the day I watched it for the first time and have never been able to recover since then. Also: I loved the OS2 special episodes.

But genuinely? Gosh. GOSH. My fics tag is full of my work and other works and authors that I highly recommend. I recommend The Highwayman and Red Bandit AU if you like cowboy AUs, some ranchers fics, some scarian fics, this specific xisuma fic by TMB (and anything TMB does), some ethubs here, some of my good friends here, and some of my misc bookmarks that I really like.

I wish I had more public bookmarks on AO3 because god. There are so so so many talented authors in mcyt and in hermitcraft in general. PLEASE please check my rbs because I have so much more on tumblr than I do in this post!!

On that note. I am actually editing this but mostly because my brain wanted to add things as I read this over for typos because cringe.

Nostalgia leads to reminiscing. I think it was @blackkatmagic who said in a note, that like some niche pairing of fandom like a ship no one asked for but one person dreamed of and a handful of other people liked, is like being in a little boat with them.

And I really like that idea and I like writing stream of consciousness rants when high and also graphs, like data visualization, because I’m an engineer. So a nerd for Venn diagrams that are cool. Like can I make a web diagram bubble graph combo with bubble size for intensity of interest and lines to show how one community spawned an interest in another community? Maybe throw in a color scale for vibes? Like who are the landmarks I use to remember my internet past. Is this what mark zuckerburg is aiming to make for all of us? Can someone build this digital map of my psyche?

Let’s start listing citations to make this glorious journal paper of a post. Giving @strange-aeons or @danielhowell vibes but also @somemorenews and also @scishow and @fishingboatprocceeds energy.

Is this stream of consciousness prose that I am writing while very high and curled in a blanket on my couch while having been overcome by emotion from a fanfic I was reading about a super random cross over of two media from my childhood? Then yes this is me. I am a garbage gremlin of a person who is shockingly successful in life despite my very fun depression and health issues who has way too many parasocial relationships in proportion to real world actual humans I see and interact with on a daily basis.

Is it not the human experience to try and communicate who we are to the world? The innate desire to be seen and known?

Or is that way to high brow for me just wanting to list a bunch of things I like so when I’m having a bad day I can come to this post and just be like…. Oh yeah I did like that one thing.

1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

This is going to be fandom-specific, haha. If we're talking Glee, then it's definitely the Not Words 'verse. It's still my pride and joy in that fandom. (Oh my god, I just realized it turns 10 this year. I'm just--)

For One Piece, I'm going to go with a one-shot: "Bent But Not Broken" (or "Carry You Home" for non-Lawlu shippers.)

3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

Oh, good question. I find unhealthy, obsessive relationships fascinating both to read and write. It's probably why I like writing Law and Doffy so much. (I'm completely hung up on Levi and Zeke in Attack on Titan at the moment because holy shit that's messy af, though I haven't written anything for that fandom yet.)

I like to think I describe things well, have good flow, and write solid dialogue. Those are things I really focus on when I write, anyway.

5. What do you wish someone would ask you about [insert fic]? Answer it now!

Since no specific fic was mentioned, there's a little detail in "Hearts With(out) Chains" that was VERY intentional but no one's commented on: Toward the end of chapter XII, Law's internal narration changes from calling Luffy "Straw Hat" to "Luffy" when Luffy finds him having a panic attack after he gets a call from Doflamingo:

Law blinked slowly as a voice started to form words amidst the rushing in his ears. He felt the hand return to his shoulder, but he didn’t fight it off this time. Who—?

“Hey, Torao. It’s me. Can you hear me?”

It was Luffy.

Luffy hadn’t been on Minion Island.

Right.

Law wasn’t on Minion Island. He was on Punk Hazard.

And after this point, he remains "Luffy" in Law's narration. That change happened in that moment because Law unconsciously opens himself up to Luffy and starts to let him in just a little bit.

I was quite pleased with that little detail ;-)

9. How do you find new fic to read?

So, I just started reading Attack on Titan fic, and I'll tell you how that went: I was looking through the character tag on Tumblr for my blorbo from that show (Levi) and came across a fanart for a specific fic. I looked said fic up and read it (if anyone's wondering, it was "Tiny Anthem"); it was awesome, so I first looked at that writer's other fics then their bookmarks. Then I've been working my way through the fics and bookmarks of other writers when I find something I like.

Once I've exhausted that, I usually visit the character tag for my blorbo of whatever fandom on AO3 and look for anything recent that looks good--or, if I'm the mood for something specific, I'll adjust the filters.

I've never done a soulmate AU, and I think that might be fun.

Literally everything and everyone is pushing me away from her, when I try to reach out in anyway bad things happen to me randomly and everyone chastises me (even if they love the hot tea). But when I do little things to distance myself from her (even just mentally) like deleting bookmarks of her pages, deleting pictures of her on my phone, even blocking her tumblr on here. The universe rewards me for it, like I blocked her old account on here last night and this afternoon I get a message from my SVP how he needs me for something new (which means, more responsibility = more $$$).

Like I shit you not I bumped into a girl recently who looks literally identical to her I took a picture (creepy i know but I had to) so I had proof to show people that I wasn't being hyperbolic when I say she's LITERALLY her doppelganger. If this girl has the personality (and no boyfriend🤞) I will actually marry this woman, swear to God We've only spoken twice but I was smitten the first time I saw her.

I don't know if you're reading this but I'm sorry we couldn't talk again to clear things up. I don't know if this was really just a business thing gone too far for you or if you really did get hurt because of me but either way I'm sorry I couldn't be what you needed me to be, I hope you don't hate me forever and maybe someday we could be friends, I'd love to show you this girl I met, the resemblance will blow your mind lmao.

As for the Grey’s Anatomy AU, i’m sorry but I only found out about this fic last week become someone told me it reminded them of Illicit Affairs so I wanted to read it to avoid any plagarism… So unfortunately (because it’s an amazing fic) I have no idea who wrote it and if that person finished it somewhere else… I’m sorry.

For complete fics, there is Growth which is an AU without Erawan, so Aelin grows up with her family and she meets Rowan who trains her (makes me want to reread) by @sassyhobbits

From the same author, there is One Night Standards which is an arranged marriage in a modern AU

This one is quite popular but It Takes Two is amazing! Pregnancy fics, enemies to lovers… It’s by @shyvioletcat

The Warrior and the Embers is HoF from Rowan’s point of view (I have no idea if they have a tumblr…)

This one is popular too but Snakes And Daggers is so good that I’ve already reread it like 5 times, it’s from @heirofflowers. Another AU of Rowaelin meeting if they had had a normal life

This one isn’t complete but I will never recommend Noisy Neighbors by @thewraithsofmorhogg enough, though be careful and maybe ask for TWs! Aelin and Rowan are in a rock band together, and it fixed my dislike for fics with songs in it!

Another favorite of mine is The Lucky One by @morganofthewildfire I adore it and I wish everyone could read it, check the warnings at the beginning of each chapters though! It’s a Famous AU with a lot of angst but so sweet to read

i’ve talked about this fic before so if you’ve been following me for a while you’re probably somewhat familiar with it, but it’s a zimbits soulmate au where you have a specific memory of your soulmate, but it changes based on your decisions and life path. it’s super cute and sweet and my description of my bookmark on ao3 is “i read this on tumblr, i don't even know what fandom it's from or who the characters are or literally any context, but i loved it so much i had to bookmark it” and look where we are now.

2. a fic from an unusual pov 

That Boy by @wrathofthestag​ [zimbits + alicia/bob zimmermann, 2k, T]

from alicia’s pov, this fic is adorable. it’s so charming and the pov is beautifully done. i love how supportive and excited alicia and bob are while trying to hide the fact that they’re losing their shit about jack and bitty getting together. this fic is just fun and refreshing and it’s one of my fav zimbits fics. 

3. a comfort fic

dearest partner of greatness by pensgame [nurseydex, 3.5k, T]

(this category is so hard for me to pick for because there’s a lot of fics i could put here) i think i’ve read this fic, oh, probably about a thousand times. when i look through my bookmarks, i usually stop to read this, and it is so soft it makes me want to cry. i would recommend this to any person looking for one of the sweetest, softest nurseydex fics i’ve ever read.

4. a fic you wish could be a movie

omfg. this fic. it’s a wild west au that i read a while ago but then i reread a couple of days ago and i’ve just kept opening it, reading it, losing my mind, closing it, and then repeating the cycle. i’m absolutely in love with the style and the tension and the pining and just. it’s so good. if there’s a sequel i will be Looking Respectfully. also i wanted to include a specific moment that i would love to see in a movie, but it’s literally just the whole thing.

5. a fic you have re-read multiple times

once more unto the breach by @ivecarvedawoodenheart​ [charmer, 1.5k, T]

(this is another category i could fill with so many fics) this is a charmer meet-cute from chowder’s pov and it is one of the cutest fics i’ve ever read. i really love charmer and i think it’s super underrated, and i’ve read this fic an embarrassing amount of times. i highly recommend it. it’s short and sweet!

She steps out from behind Eric’s back, dodging both Shitty’s elbow and his exclamation of hey. “I’m Larissa — Lardo — and the guy who just got beaned is Adam.” also “Oh my god, y’all,” Eric interrupts, checking his phone, “shut up.”) and this fic is a fun different first meeting for them! i like seeing the ways the characters are introduced and related in aus like these!

7. a fic you wish would have a sequel

i know i’ve talked about this fic in my other fic recs post but i. love. it. i think about this au probably like every month and it’s so funny. it’s also applicable to many categories, including but not limited to: a comfort fic, a fic you have re-read multiple times, and a fic that made you laugh out loud. it’s the BELOVED nurseydex au where nursey is inside the gritty costume and dex is both horrified and flustered by him. (absolutely no pressure tho if op doesn’t write a sequel.)

(i guess given my url and p much everything about me my “main ship” is nurseydex so that’s what my standards are) this is a shitty/lardo wedding meet-cute and their dialogue/whole interaction in this fic is one of my favorite shitty/lardo interactions i’ve read. i’d read more fics in this universe because it’s really adorable and their back-and-forth is just wonderful.

holsom olympics au!!!!!! i adore this au so much and this is also an au i would read a huge series of because it’s literally incredible. i absolutely love their flirting and how into each other they are, and this fic is just really sweet. (also i genuinely didn’t know biatheletes were a real thing i thought that was just a joke about adam being bi lmao.)

10. a fic that made you laugh out loud

this is a hilarious misunderstanding from poots’ pov, and i saw it in someone else’s bingo which is why i read it in the first place. the misunderstanding and the moment where poots realizes what happened is so funny. the falcs are super well written, and i especially love this exchange: "Dude," Poots tells him, "I need you to not question this, but: do you know my first name?" Doc's mouth opens to answer. And then it hangs there. He's quiet. Then, accusatory, "Do you know mine?" this fic is great and i haven’t stopped thinking about it since i read it.

11. a fic based on a book/movie

this is a harry potter au and even though it’s not based on a specific book/movie i’m including it because i can’t get a bingo if i don’t lol. i’ve recced this fic before but it’s a fun enemies to friends to lovers fic and also the ending confession scenes are some of my favorite confessions scenes. this au is really special and i’ve reread it more than once, when i feel like reading something longer.
