about the piece: this is my first time ever attempting to draw a back—and LET ME TELL YOU. I STRUGGLED. took me a solid 2 hours to figure it out—even then I had to go physically put down the iPad and go on a walk three separate times because I was so frustrated. the things I do to make fob fanart. if you’re confused by the pose, I originally meant for the figure to be laying down, but now it’s more intended to be as though the figure is leaning on something (most likely the headboard of a bed????)—although, the pose was kind of an afterthought as I really just needed to make a lot of space to add in the text (which, as always, is hand lettered except for the “dance dance, fall out boy”)

about the song: dance dance is one of my favorite fall out boy songs, if not my favorite fob song, but I think it’s important to acknowledge the slightly misogynistic undertones of the song. im not saying that the song is misogynistic, nor that fall out boy is misogynistic, but rather that the song was released in 2005 and as a society, we’ve grown in terms of how we speak about women in pop culture. a lot of media, specifically songs from the 2000s (ESPECIALLY emo songs, im looking at you “I write sins”) had this kind of borderline misogynistic tone that is not in any way okay (Im not trying to justify it!!) but was unfortunately normalized.

as an afab person, I love this song, I love this LINE specifically (“why don’t you show me the little bit of spine you’ve been saving for his mattress, love?” goes SO HARD for me), and I think my immense enjoyment of the song doesn’t prevent me from talking about how it fits into misogynistic culture (esp of the 2000s) and it does not mean i accept it

(but also, I don’t really listen to the lyrics of the song anyway—everyone say thank you to Patrick Stump’s enunciation)

i know the hunger games isnt about romance i know it isnt a love story but. theres just something so beautiful in the way peeta is the personification of what it means to heal and he /is/ the dandelion and the bread and the hope that things can be better even if they wont be fixed. even if the nightmares dont stop he will still hold her. wake her up and tell her shes alive. shes safe. and when its over and done and theres no more saving or protecting or trying their absolute hardest to die if it means keeping the other alive, the horrors dont stop. but katniss will still find that comfort in peetas arms.

Noriaki is a successful gallery artist living with his "roommate" on Florida's Gulf Coast (I think the Tampa Bay area, specifically Bradenton, FL). They have a small bungalow near the water, Perfect for them, their office/studios, Jotaro's fish tanks, and Jolyne when she comes from her mother's during the holidays or for summer break. Jotaro is definitely a boat guy they have theirs parked on the side of the house and take it for a spin over at least once a month (or once a week when Jolyne is with them over the summer)

He still does missions for the SWF with Jotaro, but his day job is his art. He works in an abstract/contemporary style and his pieces are large and textural. Jotaro doesn't really get it but still supports his partner, Jolyne loves them though.

Also, he and Jotaro have matching wedding rings: platinum bands with emerald Inserts.

agatha all along being a "if we can do it practically we will" show gives me a lot of hope in tv show making for the future. Like, you can do all the things they are doing in CGI but it gets EXPENSIVE but AA A is really reminding hollywood it's not the only way. You can do things with practical effects and it looks just as good, if not better AND adds to the whole vibe of the show. "BuT pRaCtIcAl EfFeCtS aRe BaD aNd CoSt WaY mOrE" I think this show proves that's the complete opposite with it being the cheapest show marvel has made (and with a cast like that too?? there is no way patti lupone is doing this without the biggest bag ngl) CGI has it's place and it's place is to enhance practical effects or do things that just can't be done safely or at all with practical effects.

I think agatha all along is helping in so many areas, not only proving shows with female casts, lqbtqia+ themes are profitable (like we've been telling people FOR YEARS) but you don't need fancy ass budgets to do it.

There is just something about seeing the physical set around the actors and seeing them interact with things around them.

In my opinion the first thought should be "Can we make this set/creature/thing happen with practical effects" before "Let's just CGI that."

Another gorgeous page from The Flash (2010). I love the coloring of it especially with how the background starts in color at the top of the page and then as your eye travels lower it becomes monochrome and emphasizes Barry's solitude in this moment.

Manapul's art is not only gorgeous but it's also so smart and clever. I adore it so much.
