I feel like atp even if there were plans to make bvddie canon theyre gone now. if tim minear is even half as petty as I am he would see that reaction and go u know what fuck you u actually don't get what you want now cause ur acting so goddamn entitled. like when tarlos fans got mad about the deleted scenes instead of appreciating them being released and his reaction was to say "okay fine then I just won't release deleted scenes anymore" (like I'm sure it was mostly a marketing decision but part of me thinks they intentionally released a scene about bucktommy just to prove a point.) idk man it's just really upsetting as a bi man to see the absolutely vile shit bvddie stans are saying and even tho I love the ship I now never want it to go canon cause they've fuckin ruined it
hey anon, at first let me agree with the fact that i do in fact also love bvddie a lot and i still love reading fics for them, the edits of them are fantastic and the fanart is S tier. it’s a great pairing with a lot of potential there IF the writers decided to ever go there but…
huge answer below
yeah, i agree. i honestly think before tommy was introduced again in 7x03 and the kiss in 7x04 that in my brain, bvddie was the most logical endgame for buck until it wasn’t.
i came into the show shipping bvddie much like a lot of new fans to the show but instead of hopping onto the tommy anti express hate train i found myself falling in love with buck and tommy together. at first i was still on board with bvddie still being endgame but as each episode aired after 7x04 i became faced with the reality of the situation (at least the way i see it) that bvddie might always be fanon and that’s ok because fandom keeps ships alive whether they’re canon or not. some of the biggest ships EVER are non-canon (i mean, cmon spirk? one of the OG MM ships?) so it didn’t really deter me from enjoying bvddie to this day. what HAS deterred me from interacting with bvddie content is toxic bvddies. i don’t like using the lil nicknames, idc if other ppl do, whatever, but i prefer just referring to certain kinds as just toxic plain and simple.
toxic shippers have made it difficult for anyone who multiships to interact with bvddie content. while there are incredibly nice & welcoming bvddie endgamers out there, it doesn’t overshadow the hateful ones in my online experience at least. i’ve blocked so many ppl over this ship discourse, which ive never had to do with any other fandom before the extent i have with 911. everyday i still find new ppl to block, you go under almost any comment section on the 911 insta and its filled with nasty comments abt tommy and only caring abt whether bvddie will be canon in s8. people projecting their hatred of tommy/lou onto the cast/crew of the show when it’s be said and proven time and time again that it’s quite the opposite. now im certain there’s bad apples in the bucktommy side as well, but from what ive seen online so far it is not nearly to the caliber of the bvddie side. ive blocked maybe a handful of bucktommy’s for being hateful towards eddie or being toxic overall, but ive probably blocked over 100+ toxic bvddies. i can only imagine it’d be worse if i was active on 911 twt which i’m not (thank god) but i have ventured into the tags before on there and let me tell you, it’s fucking horrifying how gross ppl are over there. twt is a cesspool for fandom anyways tho, the fucking asshole of fandom, it’s a septic tank really.
now im my own opinion which could be completely untrue of course, but just basing my thoughts on what i’ve seen online and interviews and such, tim seems to be really happy about bucktommy and idk how ppl believe otherwise. tim has expressed he loves LFJ and wanted him back on the show. tim showed up on set for the kiss scene. tim posting an entire youtube vibe abt bucktommy being soulmates that touches on the invisible string theory and explains how they accidentally found buck’s perfect match. tim sharing the deleted tommy scene is also huge but im waiting to see if he releases more (because i remember seen somewhere that he said there’d be more?) and if he does then great but it’s also still pretty telling to me after the whole karaoke fiasco.
oliver has said nothing but praises towards buck’s queer storyline. he quite literally said if you dont like it then watch something else. despite ppl saying he’s never interacted with bucktommy content online, that’s a lie because he has liked fanart of them.
aisha, kenneth & tracie have all expressed how they like tommy/lou and love working with him.
jlh said she loved bvddie before but is excited to see where buck and tommy go and then on an insta live said she doesn’t think bvddie is happening and was bombarded by toxic fans to the point of ending the live early.
ppl think it’s all some ruse to make it seem like bvddie is never happening so when it does happen it’s a “surprise” ……..
the nasty hate comments are doing nothing but exposing these types of ppl for who they are and that honestly to them, 911 is just the bvddie show to them. the people who run these social media accs for 911 are looking at these comments and cringing, they aren’t running to tim and abc being like “we must give these crazies what they want!” they’re mostly likely being ignored or honestly, as you said, being looked at and just reinforcing their decision to most likely make tommy buck’s endgame so as long as his schedule is open for filming.
what gets me the most about the hate these types of shippers spew online is how they aren’t embarrassed because they are so sooo convinced they will be right one day and therefore their insane, nasty behavior online will be justified. oliver stark literally left twt because of fans like this, people act like he was joking around, that he was shooting the shit probably because “he’s british and british people just have that kind of humor” which yes to a certain extent but let me just add these posts to set an example to why if oliver were still on twt he absolutely would not be happy with the way toxic bvddies are acting right now.
oliver (and ryan&other cast too) being positive abt bvddie never meant it was going to be canon of become canon one day. they do not decide these things, whether they believe it should or not. a lot of bvddie shippers come from previous fandoms where queerbaiting was there, where they were made fun of by actors of their ships, by the creators of the show! so i understand the frustration but oliver is not queerbaiting and buck is not a queerbait character when he quite literally is now confirmed bisexual and in a relationship with a man.
he’s just not the “correct” queer to these people. despite headcanons (hell even i hc eddie as queer!!) eddie so far, in canon, is not queer. by the end s7 he is still shown to not be over shannon and ruins his relationship with his son over this. ryan has stated in interviews he sees eddie as heterosexual, possibly pushing this because of the influx of ship discourse, and he’s glad to see a vulnerable and deep friendship that buck and eddie can have as a straight man and a queer man and how important he thinks it is.
every single thing that points to bvddie never going canon is like they’re being shot point blank in the chest. i get it, your ship not becoming canon sucks, but again, that is what fandom is for! shipping has never been about how canon smth is, there is 20k fics out there for bvddie and they aren’t canon. they can turn that into 40k, 100k, 1M if they really wanted to! instead they use their time and energy posting death threats, wishing death upon a gay character, bullying ppl online for enjoying a ship.
meanwhile from what ive seen bucktommys are rolling with goofy ass spy tommy theories created by antis and making jokes for our own fun.
so yes, i agree overall. they truly don’t deserve what they think they do. we didn’t whine and scream for a deleted scene. they did. we got ours without even expecting it and are having fun.
maybe if they behaved better i wouldn’t be so petty abt it. it’s a shame because of how much potential it has, unfortunately it is just not going that way atm. and even if it does one day, it is not because they paraded online with hate, it is because that’s the story tim and the others wanted to write and abc approved it.

I've only been in the 911 fandom for the last 3 years and yesterday when RG came back on twitter was the first time I saw how toxic it can get. The amount of hate Guzman gets for something (controversial and indefensible) he said a few years ago, and has grown from it, is absolutely insane. And yk what the worst part is? A significant amount of the hate he gets comes from Buddies AND self proclaimed Eddie Diaz stans.....like, what's the logic here?
And these people stan Oliver, who is very close with Ryan, so again, what are we doing here? Why the double standards? Are people not supposed to grow? The high horse of morality (which really is just hollow virtue signalling) is so annoying.
I'm not saying you HAVE to forgive him, but to tell others who have forgiven him, a lot of whom are PoC (including myself), that they're minimizing racism and bigotry is bonkers. You can't forgive him, okay, don't interact with him and his fans but to wish nasty things including death on him is ridiculous, especially when he has talked about being su*cidal in the past. Calling him slurs and what not, y'all think you're better than him, well, news flash you're not.
If people who have grown, who have made improvements in their behaviour, and despite all of that work they've done, they're constantly reminded about the mistakes they made, then what's the point of any of it? Asking people to be held accountable is great, I'm very vocal about doing that IRL and on the internet but there should also be scope for forgiveness.
Constantly bringing it up, when people around him have said that he has grown from that incident is just shit stirring. Oliver and Aisha publicly called him out and distanced himself from him, and now they're close again, so clearly they've made amends. But If you think Ryan is a terrible person then you gotta call out the rest of the cast as well for hanging out with him, call out Ryan Murphy and Tim Minear for employing him but then the goalposts are moved. Bc it's not about accountability, it's about bullying someone YOU deem deserving.
Also, people call him anti-vaxx and what not, and yeah he posted like two stories on his Instagram (when a lot of misinformation was being spread about the pandemic), but this is a show that quite literally fired an actor from the main cast bc of his anti-vaxx stance, not to mention, he has most of his scenes with Gavin McHugh, it's safe to say he wouldn't jeopardize a kid's health. He gets called a Trump supporter when he on his twitter and Instagram has been very anti-trump.
If Oliver did all of these things, he would've been forgiven by now but people are so toxic about Guzman. And we all know why. We are so lucky that Oliver and Ryan are so supportive of Buddie and its fans despite everything the 911 fandom puts them through. Bc God knows if I was in their shoes, I wouldn't have been so kind.

i don't care how hot he is, if my father figure is on the verge of death and my older boyfriend: dismisses my worry because my shitty biodad is still alive, makes it about his own daddy issues (that he claims not to have five seconds later because god forbid he admit to actually vulnerability) and then cracks a joke about hoping i have trauma because it would make me freaky in bed or whatever, i'm turning tail and running away. never mind the fact that plenty of people with daddy issues are entirely vanilla and plenty of people have great relationships with both their parents and are kinky little freaks... buck has mommy issues too and it never gave him a mommy kink.
i will say that i do not like it when the creators of media interact with the fandom but in this instance i will have to accept it because tim minear already cleared it up: it was buck who moved the conversation towards flirting knowing what the obvious joke was there and tommy only matched his energy
besides, it's obvious the joke wasn't even about any actual daddy kink, it was to make fun of the stereotype that people with daddy issues are attracted to older men and tommy is at least seven years older than buck.
i don't like saying this but you guys really need to go out and touch some grass. like, it's okay if that would be a no-go for you in a relationship but buck is not you and clearly he was into it so your own personal feelings don't matter 🫶 he's a grown man who can establish his own sexual boundaries with his boyfriend and also he's not real

Season 7 Press Article Buddie Analysis
Okay I don't usually write meta/spec on press runs/articles but I found these super fascinating today, especially in comparison to how the showrunners (including Tim himself) and the actors have spoken about their arcs in the past.
First I want to say that in these interviews the goal is never actually to give the audience any important information but rather to tease, and purposely be as vague as possible. So most of what they're saying will likely have double meanings and all of them are being extremely careful with the words they choose to say. Now with that out of the way in the first EW article (linked here), I found several things extremely interesting.
Calling Marisol Eddie's "Hardware store flirtation". It's so funny to me, for one, but it's also interesting that that's all she's reduced to. A flirtation. I know that was really all they were in the last season, but we know Marisol's involved (likely minorly) in at least 2 episodes out of the first 5. Natalia on the other hand is for the most part understood to not be coming back (I would honestly be surprised given the actress is in NYC). But what's even more interesting is that Marisol is not mentioned anywhere else in either of these articles, meanwhile Oliver WAS asked about Natalia. So, I want people to keep in mind that in whatever way Marisol IS a part of this season, I SEVERELY doubt she's making it past the finale.
2. This answer about Natalia is your typical non-answer but to me, it's basically a confirmation she isn't coming back, which lends a tad bit more credibility to Tommy potentially stepping in as a LI for Buck (fingers crossed).
3. Buck is apparently called in to help talk to Christopher about dating women. Do I even really have to talk about how weird this sounds? Eddie had a whole WIFE? He dated Ana for many many months. He's currently dating hardware store flirtation Marisol right now. And yet, Ryan is claiming that Eddie feels like he doesn't know how to talk to his son about women? Enough so that he calls Buck to help? Talking to your kid about dating is a new avenue yes, but why are we acting like Eddie has never been with a woman before? Like I know last season in particular emphasized that Eddie isn't the best when it comes to dating but like ??? I swear to GOD y'all it's giving such severe compulsory heterosexuality. Eddie, my man, I hope this is indicative of where your story is going this season because it's been heading this way for many many many years. Separately, I also find the lack of mention of Shannon very interesting as well.
4. Which brings me to this part. The whole family dynamic aside...Buck's romantic relationships have been severely questionable at best the entire show. Before Abby, it's canon that all Buck did was sleep around a lot, which doesn't seem like something you wanna tell a young teen dating for the first time. So what's he gonna talk about? How women flee him? As I saw someone else say on the timeline "are the successful relationships in the room with us"? This is especially odd if the spec is true and he and Natalia broke up off-screen prior to the start of the season. Eddie, you just saw Buck have yet another failed relationship with woman #4 and your thought is that HE'S the one best suited to talk to your son? These two men are so queer and so dumb, but their hearts are in the right place.
Okay, moving on to EW article #2 linked here. Here I'm shifting a little bit more to Tim Minear, and what he's said before in the past as showrunner about Buck, Eddie, the buddifer dynamic and the buddie ship.
I have a love-hate relationship with Tim. On one hand, I think he's a far better showrunner than Kristen (for OG 911, 911 Lonestar does and always will suck ass). But on the other hand, I remember some of the things he said back when season 2 was airing. It's part of the reason why I can't take things like "he's so cute. he gets that a lot" or "does this boycrush on eddie mean you're over abby" or "you two have an adorable son" or any Big Buddie fanservice line in season 2 seriously or as any definitive proof of anything. Tim has openly admitted most of those were in season 2 to throw shippers a bone. Not to be taken seriously. And that didn't sit right with me. Very obviously, there was a shift in season 3 and no longer was buddie and shippers the butt of the joke. Season 3 is when I genuinely think the writers and Tim shifted from "haha this is funny" to "oh wait, maybe there IS something here" and obviously The Powers That Be (Fox) had some control over whether or not that happened and is honestly why I think it didn't happen in season 5 or 6 where it realistically could've fit very well after s4.
So firstly, please take everything I say with a grain of salt because Tim is a Known Liar and Word Twister and is very VERY good at saying a lot while absolutely saying nothing at all.
5. So...I find what he says in this article interesting because it's not in the first article. First, his word choice is very interesting. Using both "friendship" and "coupling" in the same sentence, which have two different connotations. Secondly, he says that "at their core" their relationship is about their friendship. When something is the core of something else, that doesn't mean that's all there is. The core may be the essence, or the foundation, or the glue of something. But it is something that is BUILT UPON, something that extends past the core. To me, it means that while the core of buddie's relationship is their friendship, their relationship encompasses much more than that. It's like those successful old married couples who say the key to being married happily for 50+ years is that "we're still best friends" or that "the key to a successful romantic relationship is having that foundation of strong friendship" etc. Now, I'm not SAYING this means canon buddie, but I just find it interesting that this is how Tim chose to describe them this time around. To me, that says Tim is very much aware that there's far more to be explored in their relationship than just their friendship. Whether that means far more buddifer family arcs, or an actual real exploration of Buck and Eddie as a romantic couple, I'm very excited to see where it goes.

TK's "gaydar" wasn't so off then...
The pearl clutchers have a heart attack, given the development of Buck's sexual orientation in last night's episode of 911. And the homophobes are bashing away.
Breaking news: such things happen, in real life. I am experiencing it with a friend of mine. And I am happy for him. Especially since he is Buck's age.
Why is it anybody's business whom someone loves? Why does it matter if your friend is gay, lesbian, bi, fluid etc., when you have known him for ages and suddenly changed their sexual orientation? It's still your friend, still the same person.
A straight to gay (bi) plot is well-known in the world of writing but has never really been shown in a TV series. It would be groundbreaking. But god forbid, it's two men. Imagine it were two women... then many would call that sexy, but two men...
As long as two men kissing causes more uproar than a man beating a woman we are far from being tolerant. Let this story unfold and let them get together. They deserve it. They are already more than present in each other's lives.
If you have an issue with it, stop watching. Others will be happily tuning in. Reading all these homophobe remarks across social media platforms makes me sick. I tell those, GET A LIFE, ASAP.
Why is it even necessary to "out" people? Why can't we accept it? You don't have to "out" yourself as "het." It's ridiculous. We're living in the 21rst century but concerning sexual orientation, we're still stuck in the dark ages...

I finally watched the finale of 911 season 7 and my thoughts are below the break.
I have a lot of feelings about what they did and some of them are pretty "oof". Anyway, I realize I swept into Buddie fandom like two months ago and fell deeply in love with Buck and Eddie but after everything that is happening in fandom and in the show, I may slip back out as quickly as I came in because I'm not sure I can deal with the ship wars between now and season 8.
So yeah, if you want to hear what I think about where everything ended up, keep reading. Also...still a Buddie shipper in case it needs to be said 😅
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT PROCEED W/CAUTION
First, Eddie's story has me absolutely heartbroken even if I suspected a lot of it. Chris calling his grandparents, him leaving even if temporary. I knew it was coming and it still hit me really hard. I know Gavin was considering pulling back so I get it. And Chris will obviously still be a part of Eddie's narrative but ouch that hurt.
Next, the scene between Buck and Tommy was just icky to me. Daddy kink is one of those things I filter out of fic because it's a major fucking squick so the fact that Tim Minear put that on my screen against my will nearly had me throwing hands. Any positive I was trying to find in their date interaction was quickly vomited out all over my coffee table.
I'm not optimistic about Tommy leaving quickly in season 8 for any reason. The date was very much a get to know you situation and while I thought Tommy was being a bit harsh about Bobby, I can guarantee the BT's are probably drooling over the implications of that scene.
(This is one of the things seriously impacting my desire not to watch this show anymore.)
On to Hen and Mara - I am very glad we have a mostly resolved situation with Mara going in to season 8. Honestly this whole story line felt unnecessary and written for the sake of drama. The show is feeling very soapy and while I was giving it the benefit of the doubt because of how much the writers were trying to do in 10 episodes, they better knock that shit off. It's a far cry from the writing of episodes like Buck Begins. (The second reason I may not watch anymore.)
Also, every once in a while Athena does something that makes me absolutely despise her character and this episode was one of those situations. Her jumping to conclusions and threatening Amil was just, rushed, overly dramatic and felt unnecessary
If you needed to get her to Amils house for the cartel arrival, maybe have her go without homicidal tendencies?
Honestly the only storyline that got any room to breath in this episode was Eddie's.
Which brings me to my final thoughts, specific to Buddie and the future of that ship in canon.
First, that will is never going to come up again. It belongs to us now. The writers have elected to ignore it for three seasons and it's never going to come up again, unless Eddie actually dies.
Second, the continuation of BT and the loss of Christopher is like a fucking death knell for Buddie in canon imo. I hate it, but without Chris, they are no longer a little family. Whatever magic was happening with Buddie up to the shooting scene has not been recaptured, and I'm not sure it's ever going to be at this rate, especially I'd the writers don't fix their soapy garbage.
Am I old and cynical? Yes. Does that make me wrong? Maybe...but right now what we have is Buck happily engaged in a weird Daddy kink relationship, Chris, one of the main points of connection between Eddie and Buck, out of the picture, and Eddie probably finding God and repenting for his sins.
Okay I made that last part up but it's a real fear!
In either case, I feel like we were horribly ship bated all season, and it was done only to create buzz for the show on a new network with a new queer character.
I miss when fandom didn't have access to creators and didn't feel like a place you could win because the BTs are going to be A NIGHTMARE for the rest of the hiatus and frankly I don't want to deal with toxic ship wars while we all wait for season 8.
So yeah, happy season 7 finale? 🤣

the audacity to call christopher a plot device when tommy is nothing but a plot device.
Honestly I really just need that part of fandom to fck off forever. I'm beyond exhausted with how much more vile the 911 fandom has become since B/T became a thing. I know Buddie fandom isn't innocent and we've said and done our own bs at times but it's never been this bad. Ever since Buck came out and kissed a guy we've had an influx of new fans who haven't even watched most of the show they just want to see boy kisser Buck. They hate Eddie and Buddie just on the fact that it gets in the way of their ship. But like get a clue please. Even if romantic Buddie never happens Buddie will always be a thing. Buck will always love Eddie and Chris and they will always be important to him no matter what.
There is also no way on the face of god's green earth Tim Minear is going to make T*mmy of all people Buck's endgame love. They can keep dreaming but like the show is known for some great love stories and B/T is never going to be put in the same category as Bathena and Madney and Henren.
Sorry to go on a long rant anon just been seeing a lot of messed up stuff from them to today and this ask allowed me to vent. Thanks for the message.

These are the bits from the Tvline article I'm all 🤔🤔🤔👀👀👀🤯😳🤣 about.
TVLine has confirmed with Tim Minear that we won’t be getting a traditional “Eddie’s Mustache Begins” episode, but the showrunner was more than happy to share the “serendipitous” origins of Ryan Guzman‘s facial hair himself.
Eddie's mustache begins 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Ryan had a lot of facial hair during the hiatus,” Minear recalls. “He had a beard, too. So we were getting ready to shoot, and he still had the ‘stache. And actually it was Kenny Choi who took a picture and sent it to me. He was like, ‘You have to let him keep this.’ He thought it was great, and I’m a sucker for Kenny Choi.”
'He had a beard too' lolol. Yes, and now that was really lovely. 😍 But lol, so he had the 'stache already.
Kenny Choi, nr. 1 'stache lover of all time. Lol.
As the season continues, however, we’ll discover that Eddie’s facial hair is really “a manifestation of something that’s going on within him.” In fact, spoiler alert: “We’re going to actually explicitly state that in an episode where he shaves it off,” Minear reveals.
IF THIS DOESN'T MEAN WHAT I THINK IT MEANS, I SWEAR TO GOD, TIM. *shakes fist at the sky*
And Eddie certainly has a lot of introspecting to do, following the damage he inflicted on his little family last season; Eddie had an emotional affair with his late wife’s look-alike, making Christopher so angry that he decided to live with his grandparents in Texas. “I know for sure that in the first episode [of Season 8], we likely won’t see Eddie and Christopher together,” Guzman told TVLine in May. “My hope is that Eddie has a good portion of time without Christopher, which would allow him the opportunity to find new structure, maybe rework who he is a little bit and find new textures of life for him.”
'following the damage he inflicted on his little family last season' his little family 🥺🥺🥺
'maybe rework who he is a little bit and find new textures of life for him.' 🤔🤔🤔👀👀
Then again, Eddie isn’t the only member of the 118 to get a makeover this season. “I think Oliver [Stark]’s hair is a little curlier this year,” Minear says.
Sure. But is he tryin to say there's a reson for that too? 🤔🤔👀
We mustache you, 9-1-1 fans: Are you digging Eddie’s new look? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.
Lolol. 🤣

Happy nice ask day! Here's some lone star questions for you!
Suprise, Tim Minear has put you in charge of LS! (In a perfect world where everyone gets paid a fair wage for their work.) What's next for Tarlos besides the Gabriel of it all?
If you could bring one past character back, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
You get to do a crossover with *any* other show, past or present, what show would it be?
Pick a special episode: Valentines day ep, Halloween ep, Christmas ep, musical ep, animated ep, AU ep (like Mateo's sitcom dream)
You get to delete one thing from the show's history without messing anything up, what do you get rid of?
Pick a celebrity guest star. What would their role be?
Firefighter TK or paramedic TK?
For Carlos: Officer Reyes, Ranger Reyes, or something completely different non law enforcement
Flashback episode for TK's life in NYC (pre Alex), or a flashback episode of young Carlos growing up on the ranch (including his friendship with Iris)
A (new) work partner for Carlos or a new recruit at the firehouse?
Buttercup or Lou II?
TK's cousins or Carlos' sisters?
Andrea calling TK mijo or Owen calling Carlos son?
Reyes-Strand or Strand-Reyes?
If/when you've answered all of these, pass them on to others in the fandom, let's see everyone's answers!
Oh my god, I love these! Thanks for sending it to me @sugdenlovesdingle!
1. On one hand, I just want them to be happy and soft because they deserve it. On the other hand, I know that doesn’t make for compelling TV. So in addition to the Gabriel thing, I’d probably have Carlos develop an addiction of his own. Maybe it’s like, stimulants because he’s putting so much time and effort into finding who killed his father. But TK is in denial for the longest time because Carlos would never do that, and once he realizes that he’s wrong, it puts TK’s own recovery to the test getting Carlos the help he needs, but he pulls through and gets Carlos on the path to recovery as well. I know, I’m terrible, I’m sorry.
2. Either Julius to make Tommy’s life with Trevor very complicated, or Billy because I can’t help it, I love Billy. Or Alex trying to win TK back, just so I can watch Carlos could punch him out.
3. If it wasn’t for the identical cousin storyline Mateo had, I thought it would’ve been absolutely hilarious if they did House crossover and Owen’s other ex-wife was Lisa Cuddy, also played by Lisa Edelstein. But since they already did this kind of with Mateo, I’m going to be boring and say another 911 crossover would be cool. More of TK clocking Buck from a mile away and Eddie conveniently entering the scene immediately after, please and thanks, because that was so funny.
4. A Halloween episode for sure. I hate to say anything nice ever about Riverdale, but I loved the “3 different vignettes in one” episodes they’d do, especially the one in season 2. I think it would be REALLY cool to do something like that, where we have one story with Carlos investigating Gabriel’s murder solo and things get creepy, and then another story of the 126 showing up to a call except it’s to an abandoned asylum or something and they find out no one actually called (it’s like a ghost call), and then a third story of maybe Grace and the Wyatt and Charlie having a Halloween night in but it goes very “The Strangers” on them and someone is trying to break into their house but it’s really just like Judd’s daddy or someone totally innocuous.
5. A part of me wants to say the absolute blatant rip off of the Gabby Petito case, but I love Marjan centric episodes and there are not enough of them. So uh… probably the Owen stalker storyline. I don’t need more of Rob Lowe stroking his own ego on my screen.
6. Either Jensen Ackles or Timothy Olyphant as the new like, lead Texas Ranger. Basically taking over Gabriel’s position. And he would either a) be really keen on working with Carlos to help solve the murder because he has history with Gabriel or b) is behind the murder of Gabriel. Or both!
7. Ugh, this is so hard. I love both! I think he’s happier as a paramedic, but I wish he’d have more to do than drop the “BP is whatever over whatever, Cap!” line. Plus, I miss the little rivalry between him and Carlos when TK was AFD. I think I like him better as a firefighter, but I’m good with either.
8. REYES, TEXAS RANGER. I really wanted Detective Reyes, but I totally respect Carlos’s want to save people rather than figure out the case after the damage has been done. That being said, I kind of have a sneaking suspicion that a fellow ranger did Gabriel in, and I feel like Carlos will both NEED to get into the rangers to figure that piece out, and will WANT to next season to honor his father. Also, Team Carlos in a Cowboy Hat.
9. A Carlos flashback if I had to pick. IDK, I feel like TK has a lot of episodes that kind of center his trauma, so we know a LOT about TK, and less about Carlos. So it’d be nice to see more of his story, pre-TK.
10. A new partner for Carlos. You know… because he becomes a ranger… bonus if it causes a little bit of tension between him and TK like Cooper did! (I like the angst, I can’t help it)
11. Lou II! I love reptiles and TK being a lizard boy and Carlos being sketched out by them… all of it is adorable.
12. I’m gonna say Carlos’s sisters, just because I don’t think we’ll see much of TK’s cousins going forward unless Sydney decides to come after Owen for assisted suicide. Which would not surprise me in the least.
13. Andrea calling TK mijo. I just love it so much!
14. Reyes-Strand. I like the flow of Tyler Kennedy Reyes-Strand and Carlos Tomas Reyes-Strand better than Strand-Reyes.

Happy nice ask weekend, I'm here to annoy (affectionate) you with some lone star questions!
You get to delete one thing from the show's history without it messing anything up, what do you get rid of?
Pick a celebrity guest star. What would their role be?
Firefighter TK or paramedic TK?
For Carlos: Officer Reyes, Detective Reyes, Ranger Reyes, or something completely different (non law enforcement?)
Hi, thanks for the ask. This is a lot of questions and I’m avoiding watching the mariners suck, so this will help the annoyance of them losing so early in the game.
If I was in charge of 911 Lonestar I would do so many things with the characters that aren’t used as much and would make it less the Rob Lowe show. An ensemble instead, like it should be.
What’s next for Tarlos: being a family just the two of them before they decide to have kids. Figure out how they want to be a family before they add too it.
Some one I’d bring back alive or dead? I’d bring Iris back, I really liked the character, she was very interesting and we didn’t get enough of her.
Crossover: I’m not sure, maybe Third Watch. That was a good show about paramedics and cops and I think firefighters.
Special episode: Valentine’s Day would be fun for all the characters.
Change 1 thing: either Charles doesn’t die, but is still quite sick or Judd’s son doesn’t become paralyzed.
Celebrity guest star: that’s so hard. Emilio Estevez, I think. Rob and Emilio have been best friends since they were teens. Maybe he could be a firefighter from New York that he’s been friends with and is TK’s god father
Paramedic TK, I really like that for him
Detective Reyes, I think that would be a cool role for him
Flashback to young Carlos. I’d like that. I want to meet his whole family
New recruits to the firehouse please
Buttercup
I want to meet Carlos’s sisters
Andrea
Either or, no real preference
I’d really like for Matteo and Nancy to have more screen time
I want more Grace and Judd and I want Judd’s son to get better and not live with them, plus more Charlie. Less Owen at all times.
Maybe bring TK’s step dad and his half brother to visit.

Season 5 rewatch thoughts:
(idk if anyone actually reads these but idc I like writing them lmao)
overall thoughts: this was a shorter season (only 20 episodes) but it didn’t feel like it for some reason and I can’t decide if that’s good or bad lol. the distance between “Redux” and “The End” feels enormous though, and I think it’s bc you can really divide this season into three distinct sections: the cancer arc climax of Redux/Redux II, post-cancer arc (Detour, The Post-Modern Prometheus), and post Christmas Carol/Emily arc, that all have a very different tone from each other. obviously the main overarching theme this season is mulder and scully’s role reversals of believer vs. skeptic, but this season also deals a lot with trust in a way that I found similar to earlier episodes (particularly “wetwired” in regards to “the pine bluff variant”) but where the themes manifest in a different way bc the M/S relationship has changed so much even just from the beginning of the season
msr: redux/redux II is earth-shattering for so many reasons but imo this is the point where i think it’s solidified for both of them that they are IT for each other like there is no possible way they can imagine a future without the other in it. (now I don’t think they think the other feels the same way as they do lol but it’s a confirmation of their own feelings at least) but, coming to this realization is deeply painful especially considering the emily arc, scully’s chip, mulder’s disbelief, and just the weight of their work and the x files in general- made all the worse bc it is impossible for them to separate their work from their love for each other. the ouroboros of it all!! “folie a deux” is the culmination of the horror show of their current relationship, and diana in the following episode further takes an axe to it, particularly for scully. I also don’t think it’s completely fair to say that mulder alone stopped anything from happening in “detour” bc scully also did the same thing in “emily” when she refused mulder’s comfort (understandably, she was probably still pissed at him, but as she told the social worker, she was also keeping him at arms length for her own protection). who knows if things would have been different if that hadn’t had happened, but I think her rejection of him makes their distance from each other in the rest of the season bc of their changing beliefs feel even more isolating. I thought s4 was bad for angst, but whew! also, no hugs this season, and almost no physical affection after the cancer arc except for small moments in “the red and the black”, “all souls”, “folie a deux”, and “the end”.
writing: vince gilligan is a god!!! though he (and tim minear) had a tiny flop with “kitsunegari”. I also love his attention to continuity by having mulder wear a bandage on his finger in “folie a deux”, it makes it even darker when you consider mulder was ~this close~ to dying probably not even a week apart...no wonder he’s so grumpy lmao. I also was very impressed with john shiban in “the pine bluff variant” considering I normally can’t stand his solo writing episodes (like “teso dos bichos” is thee worst episode of the series i’m sorry)
directing: I miss rob bowman :(( but “kill switch” and “the pine bluff variant” were absolute VIBES and I can’t wait for FTF. the non manners/bowman direction was mostly fine, but the only other directors that stuck out to me were chris carter for “the post modern prometheus” and “the red and the black” (where he was imitating bowman i think) and r.w. goodwin for “the end”. also lots of close up shots of mulder’s eyes this season! big fan!
hair: great hair from both of them, and the most consistent (probably bc of FTF) early s4 scully hair and s1/s3 mulder hair is still my favorite tho lol
favorite episodes: Redux II, Detour, Christmas Carol/Emily, Kill Switch, Bad Blood, The Pine Bluff Variant, Folie a Deux, The End
70% worth rewatching imo (surprising bc there were a lot of episodes I LOVED but there was a lot of filler too, probably bc of FTF filming)
individual episode reactions under the cut:
Redux- good, but very exposition heavy
Redux II- literally being shot in the chest would be less painful. Amazing.
Unusual Suspects- Lone Gunman origin story. No Scully :(
Detour- thee quintessential x files episode. iconique.
The Post Modern Prometheus- great gowns, beautiful gowns. Bad story.
Christmas Carol- ahhhh :(((( Scully looks hot tho, and love Melissa reappearance
Emily- Scully :((((((
Kitsunegari- kind of dumb and unnecessary, pusher is perfect without it :/
Schizogeny- okay Lorax killer trees episode…boring
Chinga- fun lil stephen king vibes™️ episode, bored weekend mulder is hilarious
Kill Switch- Scully is bisexual confirmed, vibes>>>>
Bad Blood- one of the funniest episode of the series methinks. obsessed.
Patient X- yikes…mulder is kind of an asshole? role reversal
The Red and the Black- unintentionally hilarious? but also deeply sad
Travelers-boring, almost no M/S, but Mulder was randomly married???
Mind’s Eye- mehhhhh
All Souls- decent, scully catholicism episode
The Pine Bluff Variant- yooooo!! really good and suspenseful!
Folie a Deux- Vince Gilligan has done it again!!!!
The End- screammm so good
#idk i have more thoughts but this is already long enough#re: diana and mulder and her being married i don't think they were#the wedding ring in travelers is just DD being silly and i guess maybe bb mulder wore it so suspects would take him more seriously#txf#txf rewatch#my capitalization and quotations is all over the place sorry

I'm doing some light "thinking out loud," because it does make me sad how cold and negative the fandom reception was this past season over Eddie's storylines. Like I do understand where everyone's coming from. If the writers had gotten the green light from FOX Network, Eddie would've received a more straightforward coming out arc in season five. It would've hit all the right notes and cues and we would've been satisfied, but that didn't happen and now the writers can't go do it again. It would've simply led to boring repetitive storytelling, and we can't have that so they had to pivot, and thank God they did because Now Tim Minear and the writing staff decided to deconstruct who Eddie Díaz is, not just his sexuality, but his entire being. Like I find this angle refreshing and unlike what we typically see in a broadcast drama. Eddie has always been placed in the role of provider and protector. He doesn't know who'd be if his parents hadn't told him to step up and be the man of the house to make up for Ramón's absence. Eddie felt responsible for getting his mother to the hospital when his younger sister was born. Eddie, a child himself, a duty that he never had a chance to leave behind because a few short years later, he had a wife and child of his own to take care of. He really didn't stand a chance. No wonder he finally buckled under the weight. No wonder he retreated into a fantasy because he should want it all, that's what his parents raised him to be: a strong heterosexual man who takes care of his problems in a traditional Latin Catholic family but he failed to meet those gendered expectations for some obvious reasons (he's gay, he's a homosexual, he doesn't like women, how many times do we gotta say this) and some not-so obvious ones (can someone take care of him for a change?). Like the show took a direction with Eddie's character that's unlike anything we've seen this show do, so again, I get why it feels like we've been transported into another realm. Few seem to understand, however, that that's the point of it all.

Rafael Silva talking about the tarlos break up:
“I think I was informed that we were gonna be broken up before we started shooting. And then, as the scripts started coming in—and we’re shooting everything at the same time so we were going back and forth between the timelines—I just got so fucking angry. I got so angry at, first of all, the break up and then how [the break-up] started to reveal itself. So I called [co-showrunner] Tim Minear, and I was like, “Can I talk to you for a hot second?” [Laughs.] And he was like, “Yeah, absolutely.” I was like, “Tim . . . I’m angry. I’m very angry for Carlos. I’m not angry as an actor, but I’m just angry as a character [about] the reason [for the break-up] and the storyline of Carlos buying the loft and T.K. just walking out.” So when I found that out, Tim had not yet written that monologue in the hospital, or all of those scenes in the hospital where Carlos is like, “I don’t understand. I’m so angry, but I love him so much.”
I think we were shooting episode 1 or episode 2, and I told him, “Tim, we cannot let Carlos’ anger go unnoticed. We cannot, because then we’re diminishing all of it, we’re creating a one-dimensional character. No, this is a man [who] has feelings, and there is only a certain point where he’s going to put himself on the line.” He’s been shut down over and over again by T.K., and he keeps going back, because he believes in T.K.—or whatever Carlos’ reason is. But I was like, “You cannot let this anger go because, first of all, it’s very important to show anger. Anger is just pain that came from a love that was lost, so we need to feel that loss, we need to see Carlos’ pain.” It wasn’t necessarily about anger [or] pain. Once again, it was just [due to the] love that Carlos feels for T.K.
There’s a lot of freedom in the solitude of this vulnerability [in that moment], because it’s just him looking at T.K. with no one else in the room, and this is the moment where Carlos can shed everything and just be real. He was cold with T.K. in the field, he was awkward, but [in that scene], he’s like, “I love you, but you fucked up. And yet I’m here, God damn it. That’s how much I love you.” And actually, part of the monologue was cut off at the end. I think he says, “I forgive you for leaving. But if you leave me, I will never forgive you.” That was cut out because that last part wouldn’t really make sense with the rest of the story, but it was a beautiful line that I think spoke truly to Carlos’ heart: “I forgive you for leaving—that’s why I’m here—but if you leave me right now, then I’m definitely not enough for you.”

So watching old episodes clips on YouTube I made some sort of parallel (could be the late hour though).
Buck was in-love with Abby, but she didn't love him back, she stuck it out with him until her mother died.
He was her emotional support boyfriend, until it wasn't enough and she had to leave to find who she really is without her mother's illness looming over her.
So she let go of Buck, but didn’t completely break up with him - my assumption was that she didn't know how things would go, so he was a sort of safety net, not because she loved him, but because she knew he was there to catch her.
In between, Eddie comes along, neither dates anyone until late season 4, and even that is because Eddie is encouraged by Bobby to do that. Notice no one else encourages him to do so, because it's clear that he is not available, he's just not seeing it yet. ("A*a who?" " It's like it a*a's and Eddie's kid" etc.)
Also, I'm pretty sure that until that talk in 5x02, Buck and Eddie never talk about her (while they're dating - " I thought you two were doing great" meaning Eddie didn't share his struggles until Buck pressed about the panic attack.) or refer to her as Eddie's gf.
The only one referred to as gf was Taylor, and that was said in contempt when she reported about the treasure hunt. And they weren't even a couple yet. (Buck was friend-zoned in that episode, only God and Tim minear know how he made it back from there.)
Now one would think that the boys filled a space for each other until they found a person to replace the love they lost, but that's not the case.
Eddie went so far as to make Buck Christopher legal guardian, should anything happen to him, and only share that detail when he realizes that, unless he makes clear how far he would go to keep Buck integrated into their lives, he may lose him.
In Eddie's case, A*a was the "emotional support", but not in the same way that Buck was to Abby. Eddie is, was?, under the impression that his son needs a mother, and his parents wanted the next woman Eddie picks to check all the traditional boxes that they think she should be.
A*a fit perfectly, on paper, the one thing Eddie forgot was, that you don't marry a woman or keep her around just because your son needs a mother. At the end of the day A*a was ,mostly, a glorified babysitter. She sat with Eddie in the hospital while he was unconscious, she looked after Christopher during the crisis, but nothing more.
She is not integrated into Eddie's and Christopher's lives completely. Ravi have met her for the first time during the crisis and as it turns out it's also her first time in the firehouse, so it stands to reason that out of all of them she may have met only Buck, and that's also, probably, in passing - considering there were no pleasantries exchanged when she and Chris visit during the blackout.
Kind of like how Eddie met Abby in passing, on a call, by accident, hated her, but said nothing other than stepping back with a disgusted/shocked look on his face before leaving to head for the train car.
A*a was a "godsend" during the blackout "taking care of Christopher". But nothing more.
Even the suits shopping, Eddie doesn't want a suit and Christopher is anything but excited about it, but Eddie capitulate for her "You just like to dress me up" and convinces Christopher to play along "come on..."
Neither of them is actually happy, she's just there now, but she holds no significance in their lives. "I'm not his mom, I'm just a friend."
Eventually the one to sort out Eddie's mess is Buck, but Eddie doesn't realize something is significantly wrong with his choice until his own crisis (Abby's was her mother's death) - he gets shot.
He looks at Buck until he collapses, he stares at Buck under the firetruck until he closes his eyes, he asks for Buck and his wellbeing when he sees he's covered in blood, and as he loses consciousness his eyes are fixed on Buck’s face.
At this point I want to point out, that when Eddie has his panic attack, and is sure it's something else, he looks anywhere but A*a.
When he wakes up, he asks for Buck - the smile on his face when he saw Buck run into his room. - The fact that A*a left them alone to call Christopher, even though she could have made thst call for him at any time.
Eddie had his realization, that something is not right, it takes a panic attack, and a near panic attack in the station when A*a and Christopher are visiting for him to sort out what's wrong. And when something is wrong he talks to Buck who uncovers the big picture for him.
Buck knows he wasn't what Abby wanted, he knew it then and it became all the more painfully clear when she returned with a fiancé. - He loved her, but he knew she didn't love him back.
And A*a is in the same place. - she says so herself later in 5x03. (Why she dragged it out herself, is beyond me.)
She was only Eddie's emotional support, but unlike Abby, Eddie already has what he's looking for, and on some level he knows that too. He knew that bleeding out on the concrete floor in the middle of the street, he also knew that when the last sight he chose to see on the firetruck floor, before losing consciousness, was Buck's frightened face.
That's the end of my parallel, I'm super tired and it's like 5:30am after an all-nighter, so I hope it's mostly coherent.
Before I'm wrapping things up and reunite with my pillow I will leave you with one little thought I have - I think that Buck indeed spoke about Abby, but I think on some level he also talked about Eddie too. Because Buck didn't start dating until Eddie chose to do so.
And Buck didn't need his own emotional support (stunted as she may be) if his own rock was still single.
I think Buck knows he loves Eddie (in which capacity is unknown) and on some level it hurt that he was considered "not enough".
That without meaning to, you can see that Eddie's words had impact - "my kid loves her." "Ready-made family". - You can see Buck actually holding back a flinch at those.
So yeah, parallels all around... so tbc?! ;)

9-1-1: LONE STAR REACTION
This reaction is for season 3, fourth episode “Push" which originally aired on January 31, 2022. The episode was written by Tim Minear and Rashad Raisani and directed by Marita Grabiak. Spoilers ahead!
We finally have the conclusion to our snowstorm saga and I’ve got so much to say! First off, let me just say that I really try to refrain from comparing Lone Star to its predecessor because I adore both shows for completely different reasons. However, I must admit that I have been much more entertained by Lone Star’s season 3 premiere than I was with the OG 9-1-1′s season 5 premiere. My mom and I have had discussions about why we feel sort of meh about the current season of 9-1-1 and I think what it boils down to is that everyone feels so separated. Maddie left. Then Chimney left. Carla is hardly around anymore (we both love her so much). Michael and David left. Eddie is contemplating leaving. I know that a lot of these departures are due in part to things going on behind the scenes but it feels like this family I’ve grown quite attached to is so fractured at the moment.
Lone Star feels the exact opposite. Even when the 126 was split apart last season, I felt like the family unit stayed together. This is why I enjoyed this episode in particular so much. That final scene where the 126′s house was being reinstated made me feel so many things all at once and I was like, yes - this is what I’ve been missing! But hey - I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s back up and start from the beginning.
Our sweet baby boy TK is still comatose after he dove into a frozen over pond to save a little boy a few episodes ago. Seeing Carlos grieve over TK is one of many heartbreaking moments in this episode. It is so apparent that Carlos still loves TK and thank God for his mom who stops by and convinces him to talk to TK and tell him how he really feels about him. Mrs. Reyes isn’t the only mother talking some sense into her son. Gwen, although not the actual Gwen, is giving TK a much deserved kick in the pants for how he treated Carlos.
So, we finally got an explanation for why the two of them broke up and I liked that it wasn’t the cliché ‘TK cheated on Carlos’ or ‘TK and Carlos had a fight and TK relapsed’. Apparently TK and Carlos were planning on purchasing a home but TK wasn’t financially ready to take such a leap. Instead, Carlos went behind his back and got the home anyway which TK did not react to very well. Because of this, TK became the old TK and he shut Carlos out leading to them breaking up. As someone who has been in a similar situation before, I related to TK hardcore. Sometimes things can be so perfect that it can be scary - especially when you are a first responder who is used to seeing so many stories not have a happy ending.
Because the fandom couldn't possibly sustain another episode of seeing TK in a coma or TK and Carlos not together, TK finally emerged from his coma and Carlos was standing there right beside him. The moment where TK told Carlos to breathe literally made me well up because in that moment all animosity between the two of them was gone and the only thing that was left was there genuine love for each other.
TK and Carlos are back together again and it feels so right. We learn that Carlos kept the home he had purchased and that while TK was recovering in the hospital, he went over to Owen and Mateo’s place to move out TK’s things so that he can bring them back to their new home. TK and Carlos are alright and I have a feeling they will be more than alright as the season progresses. And maybe, just maybe, we will hear wedding bells in the near future for one of our favorite 9-1-1 couples.
Next, let’s discuss one of my new favorite pairings on the show - Owen and Tommy. When it was announced last season that Gina Torres was joining the cast of Lone Star, I was pumped! I love her. I loved her on Firefly. I loved her in the Matrix films. I loved her on Suits. I think she is such a dynamic actress and while I also like Liv Tyler, I just didn’t like her character Iris. Tommy Vega brings a fire to this show that was missing in season one and when her and Owen share screen time, it’s pure magic!
In this episode, Tommy is dealing with a tremendous amount of guilt. She feels guilty because she blames herself for TK’s current condition. I loved the moment where she and Owen are driving around looking for Grace and Billy and before she has a chance to apologize, Owen tells her that he doesn’t want to hear it and that she is not to blame for what happened to his TK. Just in case you’re keeping count, this was yet another moment in which my hyperactive tear ducts were working over time.
Speaking of Owen, he finally, after two episodes, learns of what happened to TK and I was honestly heartbroken for him. Owen, like Tommy and like Judd and even Billy, has lost so much. After beating cancer and surviving the demise of his rekindled romance with his ex-wife due to her being pregnant with her ex’s baby, it almost seems cruel that he could potentially lose his only son whom he has come close to losing before.
It’s truly a lot to take in but one of my favorite moments of the episode is when Owen finally admits that it wasn’t ego or pride that caused him to walk away from the 126 - it was fear. When the proverbial shit hit the fan last season, everyone was looking to him to fix it and he was unsure if he could fix things. So, he ran away. He now blames TK’s condition on his inability to lead his team when they needed him most. In order to atone for his sins, he decides he will go find Billy to sign the paper so he can get control of the 126 again. If he can’t save TK then maybe he can save his house. Cue more tears!
Speaking of more tears, our final major story of the episode involves our beloved Grace. When we last left off with Grace, she was stuck in her car, in the middle of the snowstorm, in labor, with Billy as her passenger! Now that is a lot to deal with! Grace continues to be stubborn by refusing any of the help that Billy is offering her. Billy eventually gets out the car and locates an RV that will be more conducive for giving birth than Grace’s sedan. The two of them walk the short distance - in the middle of the snowpocalypse - to the RV and when they arrive, and that is when Billy discovers the RV is out of gas and therefore cannot turn on. Grace is nervous about freezing to death so Billy sets out on foot (again) with a funnel and he uses it to siphon gas out of the abandoned cars. Shout out to Billy who up until this moment has been the villain of the series. He manages to get enough gas into the RV and then he hot wires it in just in the nick of time. The heat comes on and as he is telling Grace that it will only take a minute to heat up, he passes out I’m guessing from having potentially, accidentally ingested gasoline.
Meanwhile, on their way to find Billy, Owen and Tommy arrive at Grace and Judd’s house to find no trace of either Grace or Billy. They call Judd who is shocked to find out that Grace is not at home. They quickly figure out that Grace is gone into labor and while Owen and Tommy go off to look for her, Judd commandeers a firetruck to do the same. They all arrive just in time for the arrival of the baby! More tears! Congratulations to Judd and Grace on the birth on their beautiful baby girl! Yay!
Now that the 126 is back together, they all show up to the demolition of their house looking like the X-Men. Seriously, me and my mom paused the screen and basically assigned X-Men to each of them. We both agreed that Judd would Cyclops, Tommy would be Jean Grey, Mateo is Jubilee, Paul is Bishop, TK is Iceman, Owen is Professor X and Nancy is Storm. They looked so badass walking in formation! Man, I have missed my squad! It’s so good to have the band back together!
Even though Owen has finally come to his senses and regained control of his old house, it seems like it’s too late as a wrecking ball is literally about to smash in what is left of their former house. Then Marjan receives a notification that the GoFundMe she started for the 126 has reached their goal. They are all shocked ... well most of them are shocked. Paul isn’t shocked because he is the one who convinced the couple whose daughter he saved to donate the remaining funds. The 126 house has been saved! How convenient, hehehe.
So, we fast-forward to some months later and the 126 is officially rebuilt and back in operation. Perhaps my favorite moment of the episode was the ceremony where each member of the 126 rang a bell. I must admit that I got quite emotional watching as the 126 pushed their truck into the station just like many firehouses have down throughout history. It was very moving and again, I love seeing my squad - my family - back together again.
At the post-ceremony reception, we get to see Grace and Judd with their new baby - Charlie - who is named after Tommy’s late husband, Charles. What a moving tribute and you can tell that Tommy was truly touched by the gesture. I also thought it was such an olive branch that Grace and Judd let Billy hold their baby. It’s important to remember that despite everything that has happened, Judd and Billy have a shared tragedy. While Judd chose to keep going, Billy allowed resentment to settle in and fester and it manifested in him actively trying to destroy the very firehouse that was his home for so many years. I really hope that after all the bad blood between Billy and the 126 that he goes on to be their ally instead of their enemy. I actually like Billy (maybe it’s because I like Billy Burke) and I hope we get to see him rekindle his friendships with both Judd and Owen. The final scene does show some promise. I loved the visual of Owen and Billy looking at the wall with the photos of the fallen members of 126. Let’s hope that this marks a new beginning for everyone.
Well, that’s it for this episode! I must say, it ranks as one of my favorite 9-1-1 episodes. I thought season 2 had some incredible episodes but season 3 is shaping up to be the best season yet. So, what happens next? Grace and Judd are new parents! Isn’t that wild? TK and Carlos are reunited and it does feel so good. Hopefully they can sustain their romance and hopefully TK manages to stay out of harm’s way. The poor kid has been through enough! I wonder if they will give Owen a love interest. I’m also curious to see how Tommy navigates life as a single mom. I also want to see more of Nancy now that she has been elevated to main cast. Whatever Lone Star brings, I’m quite sure I will love it. Until next time ...
