Imagine a parallel of the “call Tommy” scene and the Abby leaving Buck at the airport scene, only instead it’s Eddie actually leaving to Texas to be with his son because Ryan wants to explore other job opportunities outside of 911, and it plays out as Buck taking Eddie to the airport and they have their moment about how much they’ll miss being there for each other, but it ends with Eddie telling Buck he won’t be alone. Buck assumes he means having the 118, but Eddie actually tells him “…I called Tommy” before walking away. Buck doesn’t know what this means until he’s walking out of the airport and he sees Tommy waiting for him from the other side of the glass door.
