As it was getting closer to 7pm, Meredith was in a whirlwind around her apartment making sure everything was all in order for her date tonight. She'd spent much of the day tidying up the place and the rest of it digging through her closet in a bit of a panic. Normally she wasn't so particular in what she chose to wear for the day but this wasn't just another day. She had a date. With Maryan. She couldn't just dress like she always did, she had to dress to impress.

After about 3 separate outfit changes, Meredith finally settled on a nice cranberry-colored blouse with one of her pencil skirts. Before she could change her mind again, she quickly put her closet back in order, left her bedroom, and went back into the kitchen where she began setting the table.

Just as she finished setting up the center piece, there was a knock at the door. Her stomach did a few flips as she started toward the front of the apartment to answer it; feeling simultaneously excited and nervous. Taking a brief moment to calm herself, she opened the door and immediately felt her breath leave her when she took in Maryan standing on the other side of it. She was always beautiful when she saw her, but she was impossibly even moreso tonight. Before she could tell her though, Maryan beat her to it.

'you are so beautiful’ Maryan complimented with her expression mirroring the one Meredith herself was wearing as she took in her date.

Smiling as she blushed, she briefly lowered her gaze shyly before lifting it back to her. "Thank you. I was about to tell you the same thing. That you're beautiful." She said, completely charmed by her as usual. As she gestures to her outfit, she adds, "That's an exquisite color on you too, by the way. It really brings out your eyes."

Stepping aside, she gestures with her arm for Maryan to come inside. "Here. Let me hang up your coat for you," she said as she took her coat and hung it up on one of the hooks by the front door. Meredith turns back to her then and gives a nod for her to follow. They walked down a hall and to the left into a room.

"This is my kitchen-slash-dining room." She told Maryan. The room was dimly lit with a few candles and Christmas lights. Off to the side, there was a small table set up for two with an arrangement of three candles in the middle of it. "I know we're ordering in, but I thought we could still be a little bit fancy with it. Even printed out the menu of the Italian place we're ordering from."

Was that a bit much for a simple little indoor movie night date? Meredith hoped she wasn't messing this up by doing too much. It wasn't supposed to be a big thing. Maybe she overthought it.

"Um, here..." She said as she reached into a drawer for her wine bottle opener and handed it to Maryan. "Why don't you open the wine you brought and I'll grab us a couple of glasses." She suggested. "Then we can decide what we want to order and I can give you the grand tour of my place."

Hey I got things done! Yay! I’m about to head off for the night! I am going to be around this weekend I believe. At the very least I will try to be! I have two Christmas parties to go to on Sunday! One is a cookie exchange that I go to every year and the other is for work! Either way next week I actually have three days off but either way I am getting back into the swing of thingsss on here! I missed thisss!
