not that either is a good thing but there is a small cosmic sort of irony to appreciate in the way that the russian invasion of ukraine and the most recent nakba happened so close together and how they through comparison made it undeniably clear how much the definition of war crime and genocide and atrocity &etc depends on the geopolitical interests of the imperial core

When I say I do not have change and you must pay in exact change or cash, I fucking mean I DON'T HAVE CHANGE AND YOU MUST PAY IN EXACT CHANGE OR CASH. It's not a fucking joke. It's not something that applies to everyone except you.

We don't change drawers when changing cashiers and only managers have keys to the register drawers, so that's why I couldn't just get more cash and why the drawer wasn't changed. So I ran out of coins about 1/3 of the way into my shift. (Like literally zero coins) The MOD told me that they didn't have any more coins in the office when I started my shift. (More on that in a sec) I made 3 signs and told every single customer before ringing them up that they must pay in exact change or card only.

And 99% of every fucking stupid ass one tried to hand me a bill only with no coins. Tbh I should've just kept the bills and closed the drawer. ("Oh. Well, I assumed this was a donation, since there are 3 signs saying we're out of coins and I told you twice that I don't have change.")

When shift change time comes, I warn the next cashier, who is a lead, about the lack of coins and they're like wtf hang on. And goes to check in the office (that's locked in the far back of the store, so I have no access to it. Plus the cabinet that has the cash is locked and is under surveillance, so it's not like I could just go in anyway)

There was 5 rolls of pennies, 3 rolls of dimes and 3 rolls of nickels.

I would've liked to put them all in my sock and beat my boss with them for that bullshit!
