As someone who has followed Bernthal (as best as I can as I don't have Twitter, Instagram or Facebook), everyone is entitled to their own opinion and ideas.

I, personally, don't see Jon in such a light as you have shown in that link. I have watched his podcast with Shai and Marylin. But he also has episodes with all types of people! From different walks of life, careers, lifestyles, and so forth. Do I sound like I'm supporting him wholeheartedly? Probably, and I still see him as a rather decent human being.

Whether you support those in Gaza or Israel, or both. We can't discriminate against people because of who they see is in the right in the Middle East. If they support the Palestinians, good for them. If they support the Israelis, good for them too!

For the directors and LAPD.... seriously? And from what I saw... most of those Twitter posts came from one guy who we don't know is telling the truth or not. In today's day and age with technology and people splicing and putting together what they want to hear or have their viewers/listeners/readers want to know. We have to take things with a grain of salt.

Especially from social media! Really, people grow up. Watch actual news channels on television. Or even better, Google it or read about it in a newspaper. We can't take people's word for it on social media. Especially if it's just some random dude and not an actual reporter from a known newspaper or news channel.

In the end, just do your research. Don't take Twitter so seriously. And if you like Jon Bernthal, keep being a fan and supporter. If not, just go find someone else and leave the guy alone. He's already had enough shit happen to him.

when i was younger, i hated pink. i was not like other girls. this is now something i'm embarrassed of - this was not me being a "girl's girl."

but it was expressing something many of us felt at the time: i literally wasn't what girlhood was supposed to be. this is a hard thing to explain, but you know when you're not performing girlhood correctly. it isn't as easy as "i liked x when girls liked y" - because there were other girls that liked x, too - but i never figured out exactly the correct way to like x, or to be interested in y.

now there is the divine feminine. this is the same rhetoric it has always been: women are biologically driven to like pink and ribbons and submitting to our husbands.

the problem is that the patriarchy found a better PR team. because yes, actually, i want every woman to have the choice to be a homemaker. i also want her taken seriously for her legitimate home-making labor. i want her to be recognized as also having a job, just unpaid. i want men to have this opportunity, too.

but it is no longer "i made this choice and I love it." instead it is a sixteen-paragraph rant about how selfish it is that my generation isn't having kids. instead it's long videos about how if you feed your children processed foods, you're going to kill them. instead it is "this is what womanhood is supposed to be. i feel bad for any other choices you're making."

the shame spiral is just prettier. it is large houses devoid of personality. it is the implication: if you don't have this, you aren't happy. the solid, everlasting assurance: women are actually supposed to be submitting. this is the default. this is the natural state of things. all other attempts inflict suffering.

but you can no longer say i'm not like other girls. you can no longer reject this image completely. you cannot find it revolting, even if you know that the underbelly is toxic and festering. sure, it is the same repackaged patriarchy. but the internet does not have shades of grey. you should support and reward other women! your disgust is actually internalized misogyny. not because you are seeing a vision of yourself the way they're trying to train you to be. not because you feel her ghost pass within an inch of your earlobe. not because your father will eventually ask you - why can't you be like her?

because they figured out how to make it beautiful: women will sell other women on this idea, and we will find the singular loophole in feminism. sure, she's shaming you in most of her videos. sure, she implies that a different life is obscene. but she just wants you to be happy! you'd be happier if you were listening!

and the whole time you're sitting there thinking: i'd actually just be happier if i had that kind of money.

Because they believe so deeply that they are right in every way that matters, or at least incomparably superior to their opponents, they cannot begin to imagine repudiation from the very people in whose interests they thought they were acting, let alone in favor of the very person they swore was an existential, even murderous threat to those very same people

I think to appreciate the sensation, you might imagine a thief broke into your home, and then your family kicked you out in favor of the thief; someone broke in to ravish your spouse and they called the police on you; a sex offender told your children explicitly what he wanted to do them, and your children fought you to get out of your arms so they could crawl into the van knowing full well they'd never see you again

The shock is so existentially horrifying, such a betrayal of reality itself, that it would require rethinking all your most basic assumptions about the political order, human beings, and worst of all, yourself. Why would they do such a manifestly insane thing? Is there something I don't know? What did I miss? What did I do wrong? What do I do now?

Democrats cannot meaningfully internalize that they are the party of the privileged and the elite, by their own philosophy they are themselves the enemy, they write a blank check for the most lurid excesses of anti-colonial violence and call it "exhilarating" without dealing with the fact that given their assumptions, in this society, they are the power and not the resistance

But it's hard to ask yourself these kinds of questions and most people don't have the nerve for it, and so what we see instead, in another little paradox of human nature, is they're going to blame not the ravisher but the spouse

I'm sure this has already been brought up but after hearing the whole charles'-shirt-color-changes-with-his-mental-state thing, this has got to be my favorite detail of the show. While Edwin is reassuring Charles that he is in fact a good person, he flips Charles' collar up. Making it go from black to red (which i know is kinda hard to see with the image quality). His shirt slowly goes back to red through the rest of the season, but the collar flipping up is like seeing the exact moment the feelings changed. Or maybe this wasn't on purpose and the jacket was just designed that way and i'm just reading into things, what do i know

Here’s a little turbo-tastic charm I made and forgot to post.

Plastic canvas cross stitching is like a craft hack I swear. You can make so many little pixel art charms for so much cheaper compared to buying on brand merch. It’s super easy too, you can essentially copy-paste any pixel art you want and turn it into a physical item as long as you have a needle, thread, and the canvas. Just don’t steal art from small artists, that’s shitty. Steal art from big brands and corporations instead. Or alternatively, commission an artist and make sure they’re ok with you making a cross stitch copy! Infinite possibilities with only time being your constraint!
