I'm getting a glass top desk for free from my husband's coworker 😭😭😭

#I love glass top desks so much when I'm crafting #cuz it's an easy light table I can look underneath to see the underside of my quilts without moving everything #I can also scribble notes on it with expo marker like holy shit I just love glass top desks #and I wasn't gonna be able to move mine from my parents house which sucks cuz I love that one #it even has a keyboard drawer I can use for putting my sewing supplies so they don't get buried in fabric on the desk itself

This is my setup. Adjustable desks that tilt are fantastic. Wrist pads are useful. Haven't had a sore wrist in years, and I once went to the doctor when I was 19 for wrist pain so 🤷

Take frequent breaks (drink water too!) and do your goddamn wrist stretches

#for context: the most I've ever done were those kids projects at home depot #and assembling furniture #and one (1) shop class for theatre #and by again ofc im referring to the octagonal table i wanted to build like two years ago but never did #yes it was a tma thing #but now?#a very specific design for a secretary desk that i am creating in my brain #like just think about it. the little fold out desk bit... but then beneath that?#where there are usually just drawers?#in between two of the drawers is a flat pull out bit that gets supported by two perpendicular pieces on either side of the lower drawer #and i could rest my feet on there if i wanna put them up #plus glass cabinet bookshelf in the upper portion for my trinkets #i can see it in my brain. i would set it up so cute

I need to work Writing At Home into my daily routine so I can make progress on typing up the Jack Rabbit script but it's,,, not easy

#i need somewhere that its easy to just sit down start up a computer and write #honestly what i really need to do is get a desk that actually suits me #my current 'desk' is a small dining table someone offloaded onto me and its too tall + it cant stay clean #it always feels gross and dusty or all smudgy bc its like. got glass on the top of it #because its a small dining table and not a desk #and man. a real desk would have drawers. and i could get rid of some of the clutter in there #I'm gonna have to start going to goodwill

By rolling over and stubbornly feigning sleep if they did.

Their brains are little cause-effect engines. If standing next to your face and yelling until you feed them doesn't actually produce that result, they'll eventually stop doing it. You just have to outlast them.
