hi do you like ok computer (1997)
because i really just don't get it (especially as the second-best album of all time) but i reeeally want to & i respect your opinion on that a lot
yea that album kinda changed the course of my life lol. wall of text incoming
first - don’t let rym or aoty or whatever tell you what’s good and what isn’t, everybody’s got their own taste & criticisms that go against the grain are very important!! i will say anything that’s that consistently highly rated across different websites & publications is probably undeniably significant and worth listening to. whether listening feels like discovering a new favorite or sitting through a history lesson is where taste comes in. it’s important to interrogate the canon too as there is an enormous amount of implicit bias in what even gets in front of critics and in the metrics they grade music by. review aggregate sites have democratized this process a bit & all the good and bad of democracy has come with that lol.
so, the album gets praised for a couple of reasons - its innovative production, its commentary on the historical zeitgeist, and the pop appeal of much of the songwriting.
production - the album makes heavy use of cutting edge effects units, digital editing, computer trackers, sampling, and even features little bits of voice synthesis. most of it is stuff that had existed in music before radiohead, artists like aphex twin (and much of the rest of warp records’ 90s catalog) and bjork were ahead of the curve in a lot of the aesthetic aspects of okc and had influenced radiohead a lot, which is even more evident on their followup kid a. radiohead was not breaking new ground in using these sounds, but they were among the first to put it all in a rock context, taking cues from the weirder cuts on the beatles’ white album, the experimental “krautrock” band can, and miles davis’ classic jazz fusion album bitches brew.
context - radiohead had grown up during the decline of much of the social democratic programs that had helped to facilitate the education and performing careers of much of their early influences such as joy division and the smiths. by the time okc was being written they had lived through the austerity of the thatcher era, the fall of the soviet union, and now were watching the labour party turn increasingly neoliberal under tony blair. there was a general sentiment in the west that the progress of history had slowed or even stopped in favor of the neoliberal order. at the same time, tech was booming and computers were starting to find their way into more aspects of daily life. the album imagines a boring dystopia, where machines are rabidly advancing but humans are stuck in stasis. a major connecting theme is infrastructure - the airbag through which thom yorke is “born again,” the “cracks in the pavement,” the family politics that separate romeo and juliet in exit music, the mechanical voice of fitter happier giving contradictory directions for maintaining the status quo. even the escapist fantasy of no surprises comes in the form of carbon monoxide. and then, the record ends with the “ding” of an appliance that has completed its task.
songwriting - the band’s previous album the bends really is a pop masterpiece. i recommend it to anybody who wants to get into radiohead but doesn’t vibe with their later work. okc expands that compositional style through, for one thing, the more apparent influence of classical music on tracks like paranoid android or the Chopin homage exit music; let down even features polymetric layering characteristic of Steve Reich. it also features some songs that are too good to even need to push the envelope much, like karma police or one of my favorites, no surprises, which seems to reference the beach boys’ wouldn’t it be nice or the velvet underground’s sunday morning.
to be honest, i like okc mostly because it really spoke to me at a formative time in my life, when i was like 15 and felt heavily disconnected from the world around me. the album deals with those feelings in a very different context but it’s a feeling many people can relate to for many different reasons - i was closeted in a conservative culture, not a depressed british rock star lol. it also was an excellent gateway into many of the bands’ influences, who are also favorites of mine now. most people who love the album don’t really go as deep as i like to with understanding it, but maybe what i said here will give you something else to listen for, idk. maybe you just gave me an excuse to infodump about an album i love lol :)
#asks#if anyone is nerdier than me about this please feel free to correct me on anything here#especially the british history i am largely paraphrasing mark fisher here as i often am

Hii I hope your day is going well ! I was looking through your masterlist and saw your music hcs from a few years ago for the straw hats and I don't think you did the followup for supernova trio? I was wondering if i could request that myself or even music hcs for all supernovas if possible? Thank you :)
Ahoy! I sorta haven't been getting around to it like many of my other hcs and requests, but I am in the mood to do music related stuff! Also I've broaden my music tastes a lot since last time so I might need to update the Strawhats' later, but for now we're here for-
Music Genres/Artists the Supernovas Listen to (Headcanons)
Law
If your first thought is that he listens to the most edgiest emo music there is, you're absolutely right!/hj
Okay, but being real here, he's gonna be picky about the edgy music, I'd say it leans more to moody rather than depressed
Songs like that would be Something in the Way and Heart-Shaped Box by Nirvana, Paint it Black by Rolling Stones, Natural, Bones and (maybe) Enemy by Imagine Dragons, Heathens and Stresssd Out by Twenty One Pilots, Losing My Religion by R.E.M. , Crying Lightning by Artic Monkeys, Duvet by Bòa
Crazy by Gnarls Barkley was 1000% played a repeat nurmous times
Can be found at 1 am - 3 am listening and sometimes singing Wake Me Up Inside/hj
Oblivion by Dirty Palm on the other hand is played here and there but he's not too much a fan of bass songs unless he is at the club drunk and dancing all that stress & trauma off (love that one rave Law fanart )
Viva La Vida by Coldplay is a classic favorite for him
You know, he probably listens to Maneater by Daryl Hall because Dr. Heart Stealer gives those vibes
Enjoys the SIAMÉS album Bounce Into The Music but would also find comfort in their album Home
His go to genres would be soft rock or alternative rock but isn't opposed when it comes to certain pop songs like Don't You Worry Child (catch him at the right time and he will get emotional over that song)
Enjoys the older stuff & independent artists (I remember reading Law is German so many he'd like German music?)
Artists he listens to: Nirvana, Coldplay, Three Doors Down, Franz Ferinard, Artic Monkeys, The Score, Imagine Dragons, and Fall Out Boy
Kid
Metal Music
Was that not obvious?
Loves the classics
Metallica, Guns & Roses, Thrasher, Black Sabbath, Rob Zombie, Three Days Grace, Smashing Pumpkins
He enjoys rock
The Offspring, Foo Fighters, Skid Row, Rolling Stones, Finger Eleven, Ozzy Osborne, AC/DC
He enjoys some new bands like Yungbund, Blacklite District, and Goku Luck
I know there's pirate metal but he gives more viking metal vibes (does listen to both)
You know he's jamming out to the second Death Note opening & Kaiju No. 8's opening
Traitor by Daughtry and Unstable by Chaotica
He might like phonk
Says rap is crap (who's gonna tell him Goku Luck is hiphop)
Allergic to Country/serious
Is the kind of Metalhead that says Nu Metal is not Metal
Psst, can I let you in on a little secret? He secretly listens to Lady Gaga, don't tell anyone or he'll kill you
Killer
Listens to most of the stuff Kid does but also has his own tastes
Nickel Back, Coldplay, Valley of Wolves, Unsecret, Skillet, One OK Rock, Meatloaf, Opal in Sky, Okamoto, The Cranberries, and Man With a Mission
Killer is more familiar with sea shanties than Kid
He enjoys listening to Uta (Ado), his favorite song of hers would be Gira Gira because he does relate to the lyrics (he really wanted to go to her concert but the crew probably got caught up doing business on another island and missed it)
Secretly would go to a 90s pop rave, waving glowsticks as artists like 2 Unlimited blast through the speakers/silly
Is the kind of Metalhead that says Nu Metal is Metal (not in front of Kid though)
Also allergic to country/serious
Hawkins
Dark Academia and Goth Ambience
He enjoys the somber pianos, it's peaceful and helps him study
Organ pianos are pleasing to him as well, if played right
He might be able to play piano but the violin (which is another instrument he enjoys listening to) is tricky to find the rhythm he prefers
Does love classic violin yet finds the epic violin music videos on YouTube to be appealing
And if he’s not listening to that, meditation/ambiance music is playing
Unironically listens to background music from video games such as Minecraft or Genshin Impact
Moonlit Night from the Death Parade OST is one of his favorites
If you can't tell, he enjoys soothing instrumentals
Is a big fan of Tchaikovsky
Enjoys music from 90s Disney (Cinderella especially)
Absolutely listens to Phantom of the Opera! Look at this man! You can't tell me he doesn't!
Probably enjoys French love songs
Apoo
DJ Apoo is in the house and you know he's all about the funky music!
80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and even 20s, he loves all the rave & bass boost songs
Eurodancer, Daft Punk, 2 Unlimited, it's all a bop
Hip-hop & Rap are his jam (his taste for that would not be mine so you may list them here)
Apoo is pretty organized with his playlists, being a DJ and all, has most of them separated by genre
He thinks listening to music from Anime, Movies, and Video Games is stupid (*hands you your baseball bat*)
Drake
His ass is boring
He listens to whatever is playing on the radio
Not much of a music guy so he doesn't have any custom playlists
He might be fond of a few songs that come on the radio
Music to Drake is mainly just background noise when driving
While he doesn't mind someone playing their music, he prefers if he can understand the lyrics
Drake will easily get flustered if he hears spicy songs being played, especially if someone else is there, if he’s alone he’s instantly changes the station
Bonney
Popstars by KDA
I think her taste leans to rebellious as in "Fuck you, I do what I want"
So her taste can go from Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time by Panic At The Disco, to Seven Nation Army by White Stripes
Artists she listens to on the regular would be The Offspring, Panic At The Disco, BTS(?), P!nk, Fallout Boy, Cozmez, Fake Type, UNSECRET, and Eminem
Maybe a few Kelly Clarkson songs like Stronger and Since You've Been Gone
She does not like others putting on music, you can expect her to make a fuss if you try putting on something
Auxcord hog
Bege
The Godfather OST/hj
But for real he does like Italian instrumentals
Has a taste for soft love ballets
A few French and Spanish songs are appealing to him
He doesn't like pop, hip hop, rock, metal, or rap, and doesn't understand why the youth enjoy it so much
Except for 80s J-pop, he can see the appeal for songs such as Airport Lady by Toshiki Kadomatsu or Telephone Number by Junko Ohashi
And soft rock, specially the love songs like Just The Way You Are by Billy Joel or Can't Help Falling in Love With You by Elves (he just loves his wife, guys)
Urouge
So basing this off one of his hobbies Oda has confirmed
He loves seductive music, whether it’s playing in the background or he looking for something to listen to
Most played songs is Careless Whispers
Jazz and spicy pop are his top genres
Prime examples are: Mirrors by Natalia Kills, Sway by Michael Bublé, Pause by Pitbull, One More Night by Maroon 5, Stalker's Tango by Autoheart Lent
I could make playlists for them if y'all want but for now, do what you will with these headcanons, make your own playlists ✨️

Music headcannons ✨
Skipper
Secretly loves CC Catch and Modern Talking but won’t admit to it
Pretty cannon that he likes rock and classic rock, so he’d defo like Judas Priest, Foreigner and Derek and the Dominoes - the song Layla fits his vibe
Bro definitely listens to Rammstein
He’d be more into 70s than anything else but would also like 80s and 60s, so he’d love Fleetwood Mac
He has a cowboy obsession so he probably likes western and cowboy music lmao
Would probably dislike 90s
Probably also has a more limited music taste than the others
Canonically good at guitar so I hc him and Kowalski would build an electric one and he’d jam out when he’s alone
Kowalski
Absolutely ABBA there is no debating.
He gives me 70s vibes and would probably listen to some classic rock but Thin Lizzy and Bee Gees would defo be his vibe
Blondie fan
Adam and the Ants. No question.
Bro plays banjo ofc he listens to country
Probably also listens to western and cowboy music like Skipper
Swiftie.
Occasional 90s
Spam listens to Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely (bc Doris)
When he’s in the lab he’ll listen to classical music bc it doesn’t have lyrics to distract him
Rico
Full on death metal, black metal and thrash metal like Slayer
But also classical music like Vivaldi or Beethoven (as a rocker myself in a family of rockers it’s safe to say that if they like heavy metal, they also probably like classical music)
Shitty punk rock enjoyer - credit to @iamhowlingmad for mentioning it
Gives me hip hop and rap vibes, he’d love Will Smith
Spam listens to Running in the 90s and Gas Gas Gas when driving
I’d say sometimes even dubstep? Idk it’s energetic like him
Bro also definitely listens to Rammstein
But probably listens to lullabies to fall asleep
He probably occasionally plays a little guitar but wouldn’t make a habit out of it like the others
Most varied music taste out of them all
Private
He’s the youngest so definitely 2000s and 2010s, since the show is from that era and he’d love modern pop
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Big Time Rush and probably One Direction
Probably also a Swiftie
He’d also like 70s and 80s disco but probably not as much as the others
He would probably listen to some 90s like Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys
I feel like he’d love to listen to soundtracks, especially Zelda stuff since it’s relatively calm and very vibey
Canonically loves Copacabana
Marlene
Absolute 80s fanatic
CC Catch would probably be her favourite, Strangers By Night gives me Marlene vibes
Secretary slow dances to Kiss From a Rose by herself
Probably listens to Rihanna and Shakira
Also pretty cannon that she likes rock from like that one episode where she’s pretending to be a rockstar? She would totally be a metal head and love stuff like Motörhead, Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden
Give her an electric guitar and she could probably play Master of Puppets.
Would probably fangirl over CC Catch and rock bands with Skipper
Canonically loves Spanish Guitar so play her some Flamenco and she’d melt
Julien
90s there is no questioning it.
Ofc I Like to Move It Move It is his favourite
Definitely listens to 90s and 2000s club hits to dance party to all night
Britney Spears lover
Backstreet Boys fanatic.
Probably screams I Want it That Way in Maurice’s ear all day
🎶TeLL mE wHaY🎶
Skipper would get sick of all the 90s music so he’d probably discretely give him a Modern Talking mixtape for his boom box, and he’d love them
Defo also likes 80s disco and loves Boney M
Thinks he’s the Just Dance king but the penguins secretly practice every Friday night and can do Rasputin perfectly
#tpom#the penguins of madagascar#headcannon#music headcanons#tpom skipper#tpom kowalski#tpom rico#tpom private#tpom marlene#king julien#tpom shitpost#shitpost#headcannons#omw to make a playlist for each of them now lmao

Thunderbirds 80s style
So turns out my 80s phase I've been having has brought me back to tbirds so here's my 80s au. Info under cut x
Firstly I ain't taking criticism, these designs feel right 2 me and so do the song choices. Sorry there isn't more diversity in the music tastes these r literally just from bands I know.
Gordon-
Kiefer Sutherland (specifically him in the movie 1969 with his longer hair) and George michael r my inspo for him, I mean the hair is the main inspo but the vibes from both of them R verryyy Gordon to me. He dresses very typical 80s he's a big big fan of denim.
His playlist:
His favourite bands are Wham and Cinderella, being a big George Michael fan in general. His favourite album is night songs by Cinderella. Not sure why Cinderella is his fave but it feels right ☝️ (everyone listen to Cinderella xxx)
Him and Alan being the lame duo they are, were Wham for Halloween.
Alan-
Alex Winter for this guy, probably because of bill and ted (definitely because of bill and ted and also nose 👃) and I can genuinely get behind Alan having curly hair. Despite this he has long hair in this cause he's a trendy fella, and if I didn't give any of them long hair I would be a fraud and a fake to the 80s cause. He switches his style a lot but he has a lot of inspo from rock bands.
His playlist:
(I am definitely not projecting) (okay maybe I am, be glad my favourite KIX song is from the 90s)
I feel he is more rebellious (very 04 Alan me thinks) so he tends to lean more to the rebellious type music (big glam rock fan) his favourite band is and will forever be KIX, he has seen them live like 50 times. And his favourite album is Midnite Dynamite by KIX. Listen to KIX and u will get it (or not idk).
Scott-
I'm blaming @knyee because of their Tom Selleck thoughts 😩. Older Scott very Tom Selleck, younger Scott very Tommy Lee, and Jason patric is just there cause he's a guy with brown hair and blue eyes, any 70/80s person with brown hair is Scott to me (could Eddie Van Halen be the next Scott Tracy 😮).
His playlist:
I feel Scott's tryna be more cool but hes not as deep with his music as say Alan or Kayo. So he's a very, whatevers popular kinda guy. Big Bon Jovi fan, his favourite album is Bon Jovi, slippery when wet. And he's a big fan of older stuff as well, big Kinks fan.
Ugly ass fashion as per w Scott, I mean it's not bad it's just,,, very Scott 🧍♀️.
Virgil-
Now I am about to be controversial,,, I genuinely forget Virgil exists. Like who is he,, U tell me ? So this made someone that vibes w him very hard to find. So this may be weird to people, this may not fit as well as the others, but if U ignore the hair I hope U can see my vision. Paul Stanley. Look at his eyebrows, look at his cheek bones then get back to me Kay x.
His playlist:
Virgil's cool af what can I say, he does like older songs too but alas I didn't focus on them. Tho this au of the Tracy family has no specific like version (weather it's tag tos or 04, tho with me it's never TAG do not speak to me about TAG Alan xx) I will say this, TAG Virgil is a Metallica fan, I get he does classical music but he can do that,, and like Metallica, cause guess what,, he's cool as shit. Despite this is fave album is Lick it up by kiss.
Don't ask me how to dress virgil, I just put him in green and call it a day.
My fun fact about Virgil is his gay awakening was Slash from guns n roses.
John-
Again don't know shit about John, not do I care for him but if I make him look like Billy Idol I begin to care. I'll tell U sommat not only is this inspo, Billy is like a face claim for me, Ur telling me that's not John Tracy. Is Billy wasn't cool af he would be John Tracy. And as well as looking like Billy idol he is a fan of Billy idol, his fave album being Billy idol by (U guessed it) billy idol.
His playlist:
(R we starting to see my love for lost boys, cause if not just wait till kayo xx)
Rolling stones yeah pretty sick, time in a bottle is out there compared to the others but John's an all over guy I think.
Kayo-
Oh look, Jami Gertz, lost boys reference, what a shock.
Kayos cool, like just look at her, holding hands with penny (women in love what can I say) originally her like fave album was gonna be Kill em' all by Metallica but Kayos here for the girls so her fave Album is Vixen by Vixen. Corker of an album (everyone listen to it x)
Her playlist:
I fear Joan Jett would also be on her playlist but idk man. Kayos just like quirked up but in a fun way, she does try to listen to a lot of female artists. She likes spooky music and old music. If I was doing a 90s or later au she would be a fan of the song 'Living dead girl' by Rob Zombie.
She's a lost boys fan (not projecting) and loves horror films and she takes John to see em, only cause Penny does not like horror films.
Penelope:
Janet Gardner (from Vixen) is her celeb inspo, tho I fear there's a lot of blonde 80s celebs that would work, but why go for Madonna when Janet's right there, and her hair is taller. If Penny doesn't have tall hair that ain't Penny.
Her playlist:
Big big big Stacey Q fan, her fave album is Stacey Q better than heaven. Penny is a big fan of 60s music as well, loving Erma Franklin, he favourite song being her cover of 'Hold on I'm comin''. She loves Daughters of Eve, their song 'Hey lover' is her and Kayos 'song'.
She has seen Stacey Q live many times and has (lovingly) dragged Kayo to them. Kayo is also a bit of a fan. They both like a lot of each other's music, if they find a new band or an artist they like has released a new song they always try to listen to it for the first time together.
I am realising now I didn't write Penny's fave films which are: Heathers, Labyrinth and Hairspray.
This is a long ass post oopsies, hope U enjoy my nonsense x
#thunderbirds are go#thunderbirds#thunderbirds 2015#my art#thunderfam#alan tracy#scott tracy#gordon tracy#virgil tracy#kayo kyrano#lady penelope#yeah dont ask why i did this#the 80s is taking over 😩

Julie and the Phantoms Song Recs: McFly Songs that are Sunset Curve/JATP Coded
So, McFly are a big British pop/rock band that have been around since 2003, and are still releasing music and touring at the time of writing in 2024. I saw them perform live in 2023, and loved it. 💖 That tour was to celebrate the release of the most recent album (at the time of writing) - Power To Play - and listening to that album immediately gave me Sunset Curve vibes, and then I subsequently realised that they had been making Sunset Curve/JATP-coded songs throughout their whole career. 🥺💖
Edit: So, McFly are really popular in Brazil, and they released a song with popular Brazilian band Fresno in 2023 as part of the Power To Play album - Broken By You... and I've just discovered that Fresno actually had a cameo in Julie e os Fantasmas (the original Brazilian show that Julie and the Phantoms was adapted from) in episode 3, so this whole post has gained a lot more validity in a '6 degrees of separation' kind of way 😍👏
youtube
I wanted to make a list of songs that I could see Sunset Curve/JATP performing/recording for their potential albums, some that just remind me of the boys, and some fun gems in between - these are all my personal preferences/opinions, so you may think differently, but here is the current tracklist in no particular order. (All with YouTube links of varying quality since a lot of the music videos/live performances give Sunset Curve/JATP vibes too IMO. All [except one] of these songs are also on Spotify etc.):
🎶 God of Rock & Roll (link here) (Screams Sunset Curve for me)
🎶 Where Did All The Guitars Go? (link here) (Also screams Sunset Curve for me)
🎶 Air Guitar (as McBusted with Busted) (link here) (Always reminded me of when the boys realised that people could see them play with Julie)
🎶 Ghostbusters (Live cover of song by Ray Parker Jr.) (link here) (On Youtube, but sadly not on streaming) (Maybe a bonus/hidden track on the album or they would exclusively play live at the gigs - I couldn't not share it because it's awesome from start to finish, and the boys would totally cover it as a joke 👻Also, imagine the boys getting the crowd to do call-and-response with them - iconic 😍)
🎶 I'll Be Ok (link here) (Gives me vibes of the boys helping each other through their crappy family lives in the 90s 🥺)
🎶 Five Colours In Her Hair (link here) (The song written during a jam session - the boys just having a laugh)
🎶 Make It Out Alive (link here) (As soon as I first heard this, the angst and melodrama of the song gave me vibes of the boys being cursed and under Caleb's control at the HGC 🥺)
🎶 Route 55 (link here) (A song all about friends having a great time together during an endless summer)
🎶 Don't Stop Me Now (Charity single cover of Queen) (link here) (They would have totally covered Queen during their jam sessions - respecting some of the best but putting their own fun spin on things 😂)
🎶 Transylvania (link here) (This song always gives me HGC vibes - so gothic and melodramatic, and Dougie's vocals in the chorus?? 😍)
🎶 Party Girl (link here) (Such a guilty pleasure song of mine~ This music video is slightly NSFW since it contains clips of the band's infamous vampire-themed short film that they all starred in 2010 to promote their album at the time [which even the band realise was a bad idea in hindsight, since it was clearly riding the Twilight wave]... but! Listening to this song also gives me ideas for a possible evil Julie possessed/controlled by Caleb - maybe sometime I will write them down~ 👀)
🎶Tonight Is The Night (link here) (A spiritual sequel to I'll Be Ok in my mind - when the boys realise that they're not really okay and need to ask for help to process all the shit that has happened to them - think what Luke went through in Unsaid Emily [and what we presume Alex and Reggie would go through in subsequent seasons] and the boys helping each other through it 🥺)
🎶 Too Close For Comfort (link here) (The obligatory break-up song on an album, and this performed live is everything - just heartbreaking 🥺)
🎶 Umbrella (Live cover of song by Rihanna) (link here) (Julie gives the boys a lesson in popular music during the 25 years that they've been dead, and they decide to surprise her with a fun rock cover of Umbrella to cheer her up one day)
🎶 The Heart Never Lies (link here) (The dramatic love song on an album that is really about the band's bond and sticking together through thick and thin)
🎶 Falling In Love (link here) (The love song that has a music video full of tour footage, which always make me think of the boys in Sunset Curve absolutely loving playing for a crowd, and the bridge/quiet part of the song giving the vibe of Julie, Luke, Alex and Reggie cherishing the moment at the end of Stand Tall before the boys cross over 🥺)
🎶 One For The Radio (link here) (The defiant song for everyone who dismissed Sunset Curve and JATP - I could imagine this as a song written in response to either record companies who wouldn't sign Sunset Curve/JATP, Bobby/Trevor or Caleb. It also gives me vibes of the boys appearing back onto the stage of the Orpheum to perform Stand Tall with Julie - defiant celebration)
🎶 Lies (link here) (The break-up song that gives me vibes of the boys standing up to Caleb. Also is it just me, or does Tom [you can see him at around 0:43 in the video] give Luke vibes in his styling? 😍)
🎶 Forever's Not Enough (link here) (The true love song that Luke writes for Julie, but will never admit that it's for her because he makes the lyrics vague enough 💖)

Uhhh what I think the Cars 1 (humanized) characters listen to/music taste bc I’m tired and out of ideas and I’m bored lol:
Lightning McQueen:
I feel like he’d listen to Taylor Swift. He’s not a Swifty, just likes her music lol. I feel like he’d listen to a lot of 80’s-90’s rock and have the same sort of music taste as Star-Lord from Guardians Of The Galaxy. He probably likes a lot of YouTube songs that aren’t really on the radio.
Chick Hicks:
He 100% listens to rock n roll. I feel like he’d also like 80’s-90’s rock. He’d probably hear some country music and cringe before changing the station and start cringing at the 2000’s music. Chick 100% secretly listens to Kesha and ABBA and I will die on this hill. He appreciates Michael Jackson, worships him even.
Strip Weathers:
Bro is a country guy. I mean c’mon. Look at him. Also he likes Lil Nas X. I headcanon that he’d enjoy My Chemical Romance though. I just think it would be funny as fuck if he and Cal were just going for a drive and;
Cal: Uncle Strip can we please listen to something other than Old Town Road??? It’s been on repeat for like three hours!
Strip: If it bugs you that much, sure. Let me change the station, kiddo.
*Black Parade Intensifies*
Cal: Emo music? Hard pass— Uncle Strip??
Strip: *gasps* I love this song! 🎶When I was, a young boy, my father took me into the city! To see a marching band!!🎶🎶🎶🗣️🗣️🗣️
Cal:
Cal: What the fuck??? What the actual fuck???
Doc Hudson:
Bro listens to classical music. I feel like he’d use this more as a front than anything or for when he’s working because it helps him focus. Otherwise he’d refuse to talk about or even listen to piano and violins. Idk about you but he gives me the vibes of someone who likes musicals and jingles from movies(Ghost Busters theme or the Jurassic Park main theme). Aside from that, he probably has a very picky taste in music and simply likes certain songs from certain artists.
Sally Carrera:
She likes all music. I feel like she wouldn’t care what plays as long as something is playing. But her favorite music is metal. I think this is funny for the same reason Strip liking MCR is funny.
Tow Mater:
He likes country as well idk what to say lol. I think he’d try to get Lightning into country then quickly find himself liking the same things Lightning does. Mater seems like the type of guy to try and show off the music he likes, fails, then likes everybody else’s music when they show him. He tries.

hey pook!!! how've you been?
this is a little self-indulgent, but i was wondering what musical talents you think the boys would have, if any at all; because i can play a bunch of instruments at quite a low level, but i'm primarily a bassist (electric) and a vocalist!! i also know barry sloane has a band and that comes up in my mind at least once a day
kyle gives me piano vibes, for some reason. he's good with his hands!! he's got piano hands. i also think it'd be funny for simon to play something totally obscure like a harmonica. john i can see vividly as a guitarist, bass and electric, just because barry sloane suits it so much. johnny i think would love a bit of bass, or maybe the drums. bass is the best instrument (i'm biased because i play it)!!! i think at least one of them can sing, i just don't know who i'd pick (but definitely johnny in the shower, i know he's got a good pair of lungs on him)
anyways, lots of love!!! hope you're doing alright
-🪐
Hi love!!! this is like super late but I haven't been sleeping well so the energy levels are like nonexistent so focus and brainpower are at an all time low.
Johnny is definitely the kind of person that can kind of sing, he's not like good at it necessarily but he can carry a tune when he tries. Problem is, he doesn't try and sings loudly and constantly just randomly. Claims it helps him focus. Definitely a drums guy. Again, loud and takes a ton of energy.
Kyle I also think can sing, but he just kind of casually does it and sounds good, but tell him that and he'll brush you off lol. Only sings in like the car and occasionally when he's doing things if he's got a song stuck in his head. He probably took piano lessons as a kid and has that muscle memory for a few songs, but he's forgotten a lot of it.
John definitely gives guitar vibes. Can pick up a guitar and strum a little tune. Probably played a lot when he was younger. He grew up in the 90s so he probably listened to a lot of rock and grunge music, and I could see him having a rebellious stage in his early teens.
Simon plays the triangle. Definitely the guy that you rope into joining the band just because 😂 He has the look but no musical talent whatsoever lol. More of a music listener than anything.
#jokes on everyone Simon probably has the best voice lmao#just randomly starts singing one day and everyone just stares in shock#turns out he took singing lessons as a kid just to have a reason to be out of the house constantly lol#that's kind of sad but I could see it#answered#queue 06

alright i’m shifting back into tlw mode. i'm finally writing a fic from chas's POV and it's sticking a little bit. i know i can never actually do justice to him but the attempt is being made and i have a lot of thoughts, i'm just going to throw them all down in one place
chas might be my all-time favourite in9 character. reece has described the performance as being basically the same as he gives in sardines, which is a fair comparison honestly – the difference isn’t really in the performance or the character as much as in the circumstances. as in, stuart doesn’t do much relatively speaking and he never really has to shift gears onscreen. whereas chas is what you’d get if that character went through literally the full spectrum of human emotion onscreen in the space of half an hour, including an extended closeup on him experiencing the most extreme betrayal and mortal terror it’s possible to imagine, while covered in gunk and immobilised from the neck down. it's an extreme exercise in humanising/complicating a stock character, and it's an extraordinary performance. chas’s vulnerability and humour and courage carry the entire episode. and his little dancey dance. i love him for his defence mechanisms and the pain and heart that's underneath when he lets them drop. i love him for losing his dream, and coping with it terribly, and being forced to rebuild his life and his sense of self. i love him for being a bad person and a good person
and YES i love him for being camp!!!! i watched the original boys in the band recently and recognised so much of chas in some of those characters, especially emory, both as written + performed. crucially the humanising/complicating of a comedy stock character for pathos. tlw is only two seasons out from how do you plead and i think that contributed to some negative reactions about reece's camp performances being too exaggerated and/or too frequent. i don't think many people really noticed that urban explicitly, intentionally speaks & acts that way as part of his job. he is a man who is explicitly playing a character for most of his screentime. why exactly he does it in that particular way is not clear to me. i am desperate to understand that episode & character better, partly because i feel like unlocking it would also provide a key to better understanding their overall handling of gay characters & themes
i've talked before about chas and simon being linked by the experience of death by parasocial rejection. lately i've been thinking about how this strand of rejection (in a less fatal but still tragic form) also runs through reece's characters in merrily merrily and plodding on. "i never responded in kind" = *suffocates you with a pillow* = "move on" = "i don't even know if we are friends anymore." why is he always the one who loves too much, discovering that his feelings are not reciprocated? and why is this tendency punished so much more violently in episodes where it's figured as explicitly gay, hmm? if you read the end of plodding on as resolving the rift in that episode, then it's also resolving this long-running meta arc; if you read it as unresolved then it is also leaving the meta arc unresolved
anyway here's my tlw timeline. i have joe & chas being born in 1965 + 1975 respectively. that puts chas in his early 20s in the late 90s when atlantic 5 was active, 30 when olivia attempted suicide, 39 when he met joe, and 48 when he died. if you listen to the audio described version it literally does differentiate them as being "the younger one" / "the older one," even though that's not explicit in the episode. they do need a bit of an age gap to make the backstory work. idk, i know they have a small age gap irl – it's just funny to me that they managed to turn that into a more noticeable/significant age gap through sheer looks and vibes
and here is my tlw playlist and here is my dedicated chas playlist, which has some overlap and is still evolving and is a mix of songs about him + pure vibes. i get really emo thinking about him listening to eternal flame as a sad teenager and dreaming of finding love someday :/

what I think the octonauts listen to
I feel like Shellington would listen to a lot of weezer, red hot chill peppers and like folkpunk and stuff like that, he just gives me those vibes/pos. but sometimes he listens to emo music when he feels like a angsy teenager again. (I’m sorry but I feel like shellington + dashi were scemo kids at one point)
I feel like Dashi would listen to nightcore. and twee pop (esp heavenly) + surf rock. I also think she likes MARINA and tv girl (I have never listened to tv girl, so take that w/ a grain of salt.) she also likes emo music as well. It makes her feel nostalgic. She introduced it to Shellington.
I feel like Tweak listens to acdc and stuff like that or maybe Green Day (im definitely projecting on her with this one) I also feel like she’d be a joan jett enjoyer. Oh and sublime. I’m picturing her dancing and singing along to “smoke two joints”
Peso I feel like listens to Spanish and edm music. And Beyoncé. He blasts all the single ladies at 3 am. (Which pisses off Kwazii, because Kwazii needs his beauty sleep.) he also blasts it while him and Shellington are driving. I also think he likes 80s music like David Bowie for example.
I feel like kwazii would love sea snantys and the spice girls (I had a dream where he was singing wannabe so it’s lived rent free in my brain ever since) and he also likes Sublime (blame tweak). And he also enjoys Green Day (blame paani + self projection.), he especially likes Longview bc he relates to it very heavily.
paani I feel like would be a rock (specifically like grunge, punk and metal + some other stuff) and uh. Rap rock. (like linken park) enjoyer. I also thinks he blasts green day’s entire discography. He also can and will sing the entirety of Radiohead’s “okay computer” album from memory.
captain barnacles just listens to whatever . he likes basically everything. But he
inkling likes jazz and oldies. and probably reggae :). I feel like he likes listening to bob marley ngl. And classical music.
oh and I feel like pinto likes Beyoncé. (Blame Peso) and one direction.
Koshi likes one direction and 90s and 2000s boy bands. she likes Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. Along w/ new kids on the block. She also adores musicals like Wicked.
The vegimals like basically everything but they enjoy Weezer very much (blame their nerdy ass dad/pos)

Hi! I'm studying Portuguese and always try to listen to music or read something in that language, but it's mainly from Brasil. What song from Portugal do you think matches with each of the JO boys? (It can be for the vibes, the lyrics, the aesthetic of the artist...)
Hi!! Sorry for taking a bit to reply. I had to think about this.
I asked my lovely @lovvecherrymotion for help with this haha
Joker out and Portuguese Music
Kris
youtube
Starting with the easiest one of them. Me and Ju didn't even argue on this one.
Doce is like THE girl band in Portugal. Is Kris into girl bands? Probably not, but the vibes are Kris. Slay girl and all. (+ it's an ESC song, Kris would be into it).
Also, lyrics-wise... it mentions the time a lot? He likes to have his day organized so it makes sense haha
(childhood song fr fr)
Jan
youtube
Ju showed me this song and I read the first lyrics and I was like "Yes. Jan".
First of all, the genre. Classic rock? Just makes sense for someone like Jan. Can you imagine him smoking out of window to this song? I surely can!
Lyrics: I don't know about you, but personally, I feel like the Damon shoot has a lot of mystery to it, and so does Jan. I feel like there are a lot of secrets he keeps away from the public (and that's fair, he doesn't own his private life to us). So... it just makes sense.
Nace
youtube
This song doesn't have a lot of lyrics, but it's a Portuguese classic.
Honestly, it's the 80's vibes. Pretty sure Nace has talked about how he likes 80's Japanese pop. Maybe he should try Portuguese 80's then.
Jure
youtube
Again, classic rock.
Xutos is like THE portuguese band.
Homem do Leme was the song chosen for Jure because it's all about boats and the sea and that reminds me of Barve Oceana, which reminds me of Jure hehe
Just vibes. He too would smoke to this song. I know it.
Bojan
youtube
Can't believe we managed to keep it in the 80's and 90's.
At first, I thought to give Bojan "Os peitos da cabritinha" (THE portuguese song).
Because I thought: he will like classics like Xutos but also Pimba singers like Rosinha and her songs with double meaning (I can proudly say I heard her live after Luciana Abreu hehe) . Quim Barreiros is that sweet middle spot.
But the more me and Ju talked, the more we realized Bojan could listen to literally anything from Portuguese music (even D'Zert).
So, Ju suggested this song. José Cid is a bit controversial IMO, but he is an amazing singer. And a song with multiple languages just makes sense for mister Yugoslavia.
This was fun! Good luck with your Portuguese studies! And may the odds be ever in your favor
#hearing pt-pt is a bit hard for a pt-br learner but you'll get used to it#ik brazilians also struggle to understand us haha#joker out#joker out kris#joker out jan#joker out nace#joker out jure#joker out bojan#kris guštin#jan peteh#nace jordan#jure maček#bojan cvjetićanin#music#doce#xutos e pontapés#josé cid#heróis do mar#pluto#asks#anon#portuguese music#portugal

Welcome to the Black Parade (My Chemical Romance)
When I was a young boy/My father took me into the city/To see a marching band/He said, "Son, when you grow up/Would you be the savior of the broken/The beaten and the damned?"/He said, "Will you defeat them?
A war that sends you reeling from decimated dreams/Your misery and hate will kill us all/So paint it black and take it back/We'll shout it loud and clear/Defiant till the end we hear the call/To carry on!
"Respect your roots."
"It's got a vibe entirely meditating on death and life and to be determined in the face of unrelenting hopelessness. it's got this really cool marching band vibe for half of it and a speaking part that dares the whole world to try and break the singer but the singer still stands proud against the unrelenting assault, it was the anthem for emo kids in the late 00's and 10's. And just imagine being thirteen and just starting to understand how unfair and cruel the world can be and hearing Gerard Way belt out 'Do or Die you'll never make me because this world will never take my heart'"
For Forever (Dear Evan Hansen)
I climb 'til the entire sun shines on my face/And I suddenly feel the branch give way/I'm on the ground/My arm goes numb/I look around/And I see him come to get me/He's come to get me/And everything's okay
"I am 90% full of angst and insecurity and i had such a crush in high school on my now-estranged best friend and god did i project much on this song when i heard it. The fact the the things in the song are all made up and can never happen but also are so viscerally beautiful filled me with so much angst and y e a r n i n g. Also i cried. A lot. That may have been because of the dead guy too tbh but also bc of my endless projecting."
Poll Runner: This is the most evil matchup in the entire tournament for me personally. I can't even pretend to take a side

Concert Review: Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band
Wed. 9/18/24 @ Chevalier Theatre (Medford, MA)
Sir Ringo (center) and his All-Starr Band
What more can you say about Sir Ringo Starr? At 84, he is still an active musician and performer in his own right and not just the drummer for The Beatles who occasionally sang on select songs. I have been fortunate enough to cover not only The Beatles (most recently with the reissue of the Red and Blue albums late last year), but also Sir Ringo's solo output including 2019's What's My Name, 2022's EP3, 2023's Rewind Forward, and this year's Crooked Boy. I was lucky enough to see him live in 2010 on his 70th birthday where his old bandmate Paul McCartney came out for the encore and performed "Birthday" with him. For my second time seeing him in 2022 he was at the Boch Center and it blew me away to see someone in his 80s singing and drumming like he was in his 20s. At the very last minute, I got to cover Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band's only MA show on a Fall tour in the same week I got to see Jane's Addiction and Pearl Jam. What a week!
All-Starr Band with their starry background
Over time it has become cool to poke fun at Sir Ringo, but his solo career is criminally underrated. As a member of The Beatles, he gets loads of respect, but as a solo artist he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves. He has to live up to the Fab Four and each of their solo careers, but he has actually made some great solo albums. In 1989, Starr toured with a supergroup Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band. Each of the band members takes turns doing some of their hits in addition to backing Starr as he does his solo and Beatle hits. The line-up of the All-Starr Band has changed over the years, but the group is still going strong. This lineup features Toto's Steve Lukather (an All-Starr since 2012), Men at Work's Colin Hay (an All-Starr in 2003, 2008 and since 2018), Average White Band and Paul McCartney's band (in the late 80s/early 90s) Hamish Stuart (an All-Starr 2006-2008 and since 2018), David Lee Roth alum Gregg Bissonette (an All-Starr since 2008), Kansas and Toto alum Warren Ham (an All-Starr since 2014) and Aerosmith touring member Buck Johnson (newest All-Starr). The only difference in this lineup since I saw them in 2022 is that Edgar Winter wasn't there, Buck Johnson was filling in. Ringo did his solo hits "It Don't Come Easy", "I'm the Greatest", "Back Off Boogaloo", and "Photograph" as well as Beatle hits "Yellow Submarine", "Octopus's Garden", "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "With a Little Help From My Friends". He also did cover songs he's closely affiliated with like Carl Perkins' "Matchbox" (which The Beatles did in 1964), and The Shirelles' "Boys" (which The Beatles covered in 1963). Each member got their chance to shine too with Lukather singing Toto hits, Stuart doing Average White Band hits, and Hay doing Men at Work hits. Of all the non-Ringo / Beatle songs, I found the Men at Work hits to be the strongest.
Sir Ringo singing
Sir Ringo drumming
I don't know how much longer Sir Ringo is going to be touring and performing for, so any chance to see him is exciting. He sings lead and sometimes plays drums and he's a born entertainer! There is an element of a Vegas show vibe to this, but what's wrong with that? I do wish they'd incorporate some of Ringo's output since the 70s into set, but he's giving the audience what they want. This was my third time seeing the All-Starr Band and it was a blast. The first time is among my most legendary concert moments ever to get to see two Beatles onstage together. The second show I got to see in the same week as a Sir Paul concert. Bottom line: it's hard to compare to both of those concert experiences, but this was quite a show!

Girlfriend of grunge in the 90s
When I think of the 90s I’ve said before in the previous place it really gives me Pisces vibes, but obviously there’s some heavy Capricorn placements like Neptune and Uranus in the early 90s and late 80s 80s which gave it that dark edge.
These are all the girlfriends of grunge who I think are important, to mention in this story. first of all, we have Courtney Love, she is obviously the most known one out of all of these in this one, she was known for being an outspoken, kind of feminist, kind of misogynist, all rolled into one.
Boy, has she been through the wringer, being called, the Nancy Spudgen, a hole, of Nirvana, which is very low?, especially considering that Nancy was dead and it went through a lot of herself with sexist and press., it was probably because Courtney moulded herself around. I do have a lot more compassion for Nancy for what she’s been through because Courtney seems a lot more., vindictive with what she does and how she betray herself, Whatever I’ve seen about Nancy she seems less control of her behaviour but that’s okay sometimes if personality disorders in Courtney’s case
Sometimes sometimes compulsive liars get addicted to their own lies and end up saying things that aren’t true, Kat bjelland said 70% of what Courtney said is the truth, work out which bits are not?
But Courtney has been a pioneer in this area of, making music for girls and teenagers, and fully grown women like myself in my 30s, she makes you feel powerful, she makes you feel like you could do anything when you listen to one of her songs, and dressing up with her makes you feel even more powerful, there would be no grunge is aesthetic or kinder whore without these two women. have a lot of people who can’t stand Courtney love some of them are a lot of them are women as well they think she’s too egotistical honestly I think they’re just a bit bit jealous no I don’t think they will jealous. I think people are just intimidated.
Then you have our alternative Winona , who has been popular with the boy band members, alternative and rock boy bands not pop ,members, I think she even went out with that guy from County, Monica and Rachel from friends, I know Courtney and Jennifer, ha ha I just realised that could’ve been Jennifer Finch and Courtney love.
Yeah, she’s been around, she’s gone even when she shoplifted and had to go, she was still soft-spoken, who was obviously taking advantage of Johnny Depp from such a young age that it affected her for the rest of her adult life, she said her first everything . Which put a huge power in balance in the relationship. He moved onto Kate Moss., Winona Ryder you’re still that girl forever, she is like the actress alternative grunge girl, the music version, but in very different as, kind of like light feminine and dark feminine.
And you have demri , Lane Staleys model girlfriend, who he was with for many years since the 80s on and off,, they had a very up-and-down relationship, caused by drug and alcohol dependency, but you could tell that they really love each other they weren’t like where they were like a publicity machine, not that you can even call them but they were back in the day not that you know, kept his private life private, even people who went to school with him didn’t know that it was him graduated with because he was quiet and he kept a different last name, but absolutely stunning as you can see from my pictures very similar to Kristen pfaff , I’m sorry Hole fans ,you do not give enough credit for, anyway, Demri , and layne up breaking up, which people say he wasn’t the same after, she died in 1996, bacteria from the needle, to her heart and affected her a really bad way and got into an infection . he evidently died, a few years after cut to the same day he wasn’t found until his body was not in a good way. Let’s put it that., I hope they’re together in heaven happy and in love
Kristen Pfaff ,of Hole her death was extremely suspicious, and I know Nirvana fans believe this, not Courtney fans but I am on the fence with this. I find Courtney really appealing and really gracious and appealing. That’s the only way I can put it just very charismatic and that’s what her dad was like to, Kristen, given a hot shot, she’d got clean after Kurt Cobain died, pages in her diary were missing from that week. which is also extremely strange her family did not like Courtney and they find the whole thing suspiciousl brother was with her a lot of the time during those days. she was with a bang called Janet Joe and she got back with them. She was only meant to be touring bassist , she stayed a bit longer, was with Eric Allanson only because he was the only guy there at the time and I, advantage if you see pictures of her before she moves to Seattle, Courtney needs to give her bags with syringes and bags of heroin , she was professionally trained in, you can master the piano said that you can master anything it’s genius level music. sad that she died and the fans don’t give her credit “live through this “ is one of the best albums ever, this is my mix of the main grunge girls of the 90s and their impact and how talented they were in all different ways.

What is the best Magic School Bus episode and why you’re wrong it’s In the Haunted House
In honor of the 30th anniversary of the MSB premiere (god that makes me feel old), have a hastily assembled post about why this is the best episode of this completely unhinged and delightful show for kids from the 90s.
The plot of this episode revolves around Carlos trying to make his invented instrument sound like not crap and Ms. Frizzle barely knowing what's going on but rolling with it anyway.
This episode begins, begins with a rendition of the William Tell Overture. No explanation, in fact we find out several minutes later that DA is passing this off as "Concerto for Invented Instrument", an original piece she composed so Carlos could show off said invented instrument.
They're really just gonna drop the idea that an 8-year old composed a piece like this and she's not being scouted as the next Mozart? Were we really that bored in the 90s?
youtube
Because PBS shows get a budget of like 5 and need that royalty-free music! But is it just a recording of any old orchestra playing this song? No. It's a recording using specifically the instruments the kids are shown to be playing.
As Carlos laments that his instrument sounds "ploopy" (a word they repeat all episode that means nothing but somehow fits the sound perfectly), the woman herself makes an ENTRANCE. This is by no means Ms. Frizzle's most eccentric entrance but it is the one that serves the most. She's a one-woman band, effortlessly showing off footwork skills and musical knowledge with her array of instruments.
Then she just shoves the whole contraption in a desk drawer like a Time Lord and continues with no explanation.
After some exposition (yada, yada, concert coming up, instrument needs to be fixed) they all rush off to the Sound Museum. On the way, Carlos keeps trying to fix his instrument and laments that he needs more time. (side note, the sound mixing on this instrument is incredible; I wish there was a way to put in a sound clip because every time unique and every time is utter perfection).
So what's a boy inventor to do? Have his trusty teacher crash the bus of course! For no apparent reason, Ms. Frizzle has the bus go nuts with speed and sound until it overheats and they get stuck.
(look at this bus winking like it's in on the ruse!). So now they're without a bus for the rest of the episode.
Carlos is thrilled (more time to fix his instrument!) and DA is horrified.
(Another side note, DA is giving peak sass this episode. On the one hand it's very funny. On the other, you can tell it's because this concert matters to her.)
So they decide their best course of action is to just push the bus through the dark.
Pretty soon they arrive at this place.
Just a goddamned castle. Where lightning strikes on a clear night. Ya know, just for the aesthetic.
This episode is all spooky vibes without explicitly being a Halloween episode. And despite the creepy stuff it manages to be hilarious at the same time.
The house is indeed EARy and unsettling with things like hidden doors, paintings who's eyes move and books that make noise, even one that inexplicably screams. Not to mention the strange ghostly sound they keep hearing. And Ms. Frizzle is very chill about all of this. She even tells them the history of the house, which contains a ghost story.
She's just messing with them now, right? You don't tell freaked out 8 years olds a ghost story about the creepy house they're stranded in. But that is how Ms. Frizzle do.
And when it becomes clear that the place is empty, she just claims squatters rights and says they're staying the night.
(Permission slips? Really?)
And she's barely said that when they find a conveniently arranged dormitory laid out just for them. But in typical kids during a sleepover behavior, the kids wander off following that mysterious sound and discover even more crazy rooms in this house.
Oh and Ms. Frizzle casually mountain climbing in said room. Who makes a ski lift appear out of nowhere to get the kids out of the room.
It's only here, three-quarters of the way in that someone on the writing staff realized this was all plot with no lesson. And then they scramble to teach something about vibrations and sound. Using giant instruments and goggles that let you see sound (I was so mad when I found out those weren't real).
After a quick realization on how vibration creates sound, Carlos rushes off to fix his instrument, only to find it missing!
And then they fall down a closet into the dungeon basement. And it's there that we finally meet the rogue soundster - the great granddaughter of the original owner of the house! Voiced by Carol Channing?! The Broadway legend?? Her eccentric voice matched this one-off character perfectly.
Turns out she stole Carlos' instrument; why it's never quite explained but she helps him to fix it just in time for the concert. Which goes off without a hitch.
Carlos donates his instrument to the museum and the episode ends with Ms. Frizzle and Cornelia jamming on their respective instruments and instantly creating a classic.
Where did this sound museum come from? How did the original Cornelia disappear? How did Ms. Frizzle know Cornelia II? Why do the books make sound? Why was Ms. Frizzle mountain climbing? Why did Ms. Frizzle tear down a wall at one point and no one cared? Why did an old lady who is definitely a ghost or an immortal steal an instrument just to hold onto it until the owner found her? Where did Ms. Frizzle get her instrument from, she left it in the bigger-on-the-inside desk drawer at school!?
Shut up and enjoy your 90s cartoon about how sound works.
I'm pretty sure this episode gave life to all the Carlos x DA shippers too. And not without cause.
(Keesha ships it.)
So yeah, all plot, all vibes with the barest hint of a lesson, never-ending sass and absolutely no explanation for anything?
Best episode.
