actually grieving over the underdeveloped character dynamics in vld right now. the first two-three seasons did a really nice job at setting up so many possibilities that were then utterly sidelined </3

The dynamics that they focus on/represent as duos the most (shiro and keith, hunk and pidge) are really well done and some of my favorites out of the whole cast, but it left things feeling lopsided when you see those nice believable dynamics and it doesn't hold true for the rest of the cast.

i was thinking about this yesterday on my way home from uni actually. the answer is yes, but with one baseline requirement: anybody they become close with needs to be able to ground them in one way or another. mortum and argent are possible, he appreciates their bluntness and strict boundaries. he likes to listen to mortum and occasionally bounce off ideas with her. he already holds respect for argent, and given time, she couldve grown to be a trusted confidante. however, they want to keep mortum as a purely business relationship at the moment, and argent already scared them off before anything could happen. heralds not getting any further than coach or "he seems nice", they like him but they get a headache whenever theyre in a room with him for too long. other than that, anybody goes. hes not picky.

Storge 3. How far does parental approval (imagined or expressed) impact upon their current sense of self-worth? What might they sacrifice or attempt to achieve in order to ensure the approval of their parents?

the answer varies wildly for either, so ill answer for both. in the case of tia elena, parental approval is a bit shocking to him, like with most relationship dynamics. they like it, they just cant fathom the fact that theyre getting percieved, much less in a positive light. hed do a lot to get more, its fascinating to him and it makes him feel like hes doing a good job. but its something they can easily give up if the situation calls for it (aka theyre my only step tia elenas 'im-not-mad-im-just-disappointed' look wouldnt work on).

the farm is...a very different story. they were made to be a tool, and if its a tool they want, a tool they shall get. before their escape he was very single-minded when accomplishing missions. get the job done in any way possible. consequences arent for him to worry about, he only needs to worry about if they mess up. which they wont. they make sure of it. after their escape he leans less into that mindset, but its difficult to let go of, and still bleeds into his relationships most of the time. they dont like to think about the fact they wouldve sacrificed anything for the farm back then, and that theyre not sure they wouldnt sacrifice anything now if the right people asked it from them.

Eros 1. Is your OC romantic in the traditional sense? Do they enjoy giving or receiving gifts of flowers or confectionary? Or are there other courtship traditions from their culture of origin that are important to them?

nobody but him is allowed to be romantic. thats it thats the answer were moving on

in all seriousness, he does do traditionally romantic things alot, though most of them are for the reaction, not courtesy. roses and flowers are a common way for him to try and fluster his dates, and the two people hes dated are both sappy suckers so its worked most of the time. the exception is gift giving, because most of his gifts are handmade, so he tries not to make a big deal about it. unfortunately, his partners always do.

receiving romantic gestures should be something hes used to at this point, but hes not, so it always catches him off gaurd. its embarrassing, but the most embarrassing part is that he gets strangely touched by it. he probably still has a teddy gifted to him thats never seeing the light of day. oh, and chocolates are always welcome. thats just good food.

does the farm have the normal version of a favourite?? no. do they have a favourite 'im gonna fuck them up for fun' sibling? yes and thats fawn. north is a bastard and he frequently makes cyrus dream of murder. as for how their relationships all changed, cyrus used to be closer to his siblings. a Lot closer. of course, the farm changed that. he became cruel and harsh, which fawn couldnt connect with. even with river who wants to be evil, cyrus became obsessive about control after heartbreak, which i dont think river appreciates. his mental imprint changed extremely, and he started shielding around them. needless to say their relationship was estranged for a good while, but cyrus can never stay away from the people he cares about.

Storge 5. Which of your OC's qualities makes them the most proud? Do they think more people should be like them in this regard? Or do they quite like being rare in possessing it?

hes proudest of his ability to stay logical and composed, unaffected by emotions. that last part isnt true btw, but he gets to believe it to feel better about himself. hes able to think things through and do what needs to be done without external influence. he thinks itd be easier for everybody if they were more like him, but secretly, hes relieved that theyre not. itd get less people hurt, but the poison is addicting, yk? if people were as logical as he wanted them to be, ortega and herald (and maybe mortum, the verdict is pending) wouldve dropped him by now, yet persistent assholes that they are, they stay with him anyway. he likes the trade-off.

It really was and that bothers me. It also bothers me that not one of the brothers even bothered to question why their youngest brother had significantly darker coloring. Like, compared to how they saw Branch last it's beyond NOTICABLE just how much duller he is. I honestly think he was brighter in TWT than in TBT. So how did they just, not notice?

Floyd just might be the only one with an excuse here, since he was in a colored diamond bottle and dying, but even that's a flimsy excuse at best. JD also has the flimsy (but still better than Floyd's) excuse of being focused on the mission to pay any mind to anything else; and he has that excuse because we've SEEN JD fixate on something and becoming blind to everything else (PFH anyone?) so that's somewhat feasible, but what about after? Like when they were back at Vacay Island after rescuing Floyd?

And jeez DreamWorks, I get that (Sp)Bruce, Clay and Floyd are the middle siblings, and the focus here (besides MC Branch) was rescuing Floyd, but you could've at least given the 3 of them more of a reason for why they never came back for Branch. Even Floyd never gave a reason as to why he never came back, and it's revealed early on that he promised to come back. JD was the only one who openly admitted that he tried to come back (and thought ALL of his brothers were dead except maybe one due to a vague unsigned postcard that maybe was from one of his brothers but really could've been from anyone) and gave the best reason for leaving. AND he's the only brother who you could TELL constantly thought about his brother. Yes, Floyd thought about his brothers, but he was also actively dying, so it could've very well been a life-flashing-before-death thing.

All we got from Clay was wanting to find trolls that would take him seriously, and all we got from (Sp)Bruce was not wanting to be treated the way JD treated him. And of course, Floyd's solo career; in which we know NOTHING about. We didn't get anything on them trying to return, or that they ever thought about their brothers at all.

Fanon does a better job at justifying their departure. Fanon gave (Sp)Bruce an eating disorder and body dysmorphia from the pressure of being fit, when canon only showed us JD encouraging more sit-ups from him, and him (and Clay) constantly butting heads with JD. Fanon gave Clay the mother of all identity crisis when all canon gave us was a troll who was butthurt about being seen as funny, and who the only time he was forced into something was the funderdrawers, and not anything else besides constantly picking fights. Fanon gave us an overwhelmed Floyd who was tired of playing family mediator who turned grey some time in those 20+ years he was gone, when all canon gave us was just him (maybe?) dying and no explanation as to where the hell he was all that time, and how exactly did he end up getting captured since, you would think a troll who grew up near troll-eating giants would be hypervigilant over giants. This also raises the question as to how the fuck Brandy x (Sp)Bruce ever happened but that's a topic for another day.

I've said it once, and I will fucking say it again, with the exception of JD, all of the brothers' CANONICAL reasons for leaving fucking sucked. JD up and said that as the leader/oldest, there was a lot of pressure on his shoulders to take care of the four younger ones. That is an extremely valid reason for moving away (not enough of a reason to never communicate via letters, but we'll chalk it up to him being in the wild + needing time to cool down before he tried to come back home) on top of the fact that he looked old enough to move out and live on his own anyways. And he did say goodbye. Sure it was over the shoulder and obviously said out of anger, but it was a goodbye. The others (besides Floyd but we'll get the that) didn't even do that. (Sp)Bruce's openly admitted that his only problem was JD's treatment (exactly what does that entail since all we got was JD just saying to do more sit-ups?) of him, so as the second oldest, he really ditched 3 of his brothers because he didn't like how 1 of them (the one who walked out the door first and in front of all of them) treated him. Also, he quit first and walked out second. Clay walked out third, leaving behind his 2 younger brothers because he felt that JD (though possibly both of the older ones but it was implied it was just JD) didn't take him seriously. JD, who walked out first, hence wouldn't be a problem. JD, the oldest, who alongside the second oldest, left, making Clay the oldest. That was the golden opportunity right there to be taken seriously, and yet still, he left. Finally Floyd and his solo career that he could've started right there (since it was heavily implied that BroZone started there) at home, without having to leave his BABY brother, who obviously had an attachment to all of them, but him especially? Don't get me started on his goodbye, and how he promised to come back. I'll give him credit, his goodbye was much nicer than JD's, but he made a promise to come back SOON, and he broke it. It was PAINFULLY obvious that Branch held him up to that promise, so it must've been extremely heartbreaking when Floyd broke it. Especially since it doesn't seem like anyone actually took care of Branch after Rosiepuff died, so that's especially awful.

Let's talk about that for a sec. Floyd REALLY told a baby to take care of an old woman? I know it was probably to make Branch feel like he had something to do, but even if Rosiepuff had died of natural causes, what's to stop Branch from feeling that was his fault too, since he was told to take care of her and her dying would prove he failed? I really don't think a baby (especially one that a good portion of the fandom is convinced is autistic) would be able to differentiate, seeing as he blamed himself for getting her killed when he wasn't the one who murdered her. If Rosiepuff had died of old age, I 100% believe he would've found a way to blame himself, because he was YOUNG, and probably didn't have a good grasp in understanding death. I get what Floyd was trying to do, but man, he did NOT think that through.

In conclusion, all of Branch's brothers really dropped the ball (some way harder than the others) and are in serious need of groveling for forgiveness. Because what they did was so beyond not okay. Starting with (going back to) them not noticing Branch is significantly duller in color now. Again I ask, how the fuck did they miss that?

I really wish Branch's Greyness had gotten brought up in the big argument scene in TBT.

like even just Briefly it would have been nice if Branch had also revealed that to the Brothers following Grandma getting eaten and there being no one left to take care of him he went Grey and hid away or something along those lines ya know?

You're not actually certified or anything but just someone who often finds herself patching up the family after their patrols thus is claimed as the family's medic. Despite your lack of formal training, your skills are actually fairly good to the point they'll often come to you for a quick stitch so they don't bleed out on the way to the hospital or while waiting for Alfred.

We all know that Tim often gets himself hurt the most when he goes out. While he's arguably the smartest robin, he definitely not the strongest. And small dogs can't help but throw themselves into the line of fire....

So more often then not when someone was coming to you for stitches or to be patched up, it was your brother Tim.

You didn't mind too much, actually you enjoyed taking care of him the most. Tim was always a trooper, even while pouring alcohol on his open gashes. He stayed still, polite and was rather good company. A nice contrast to your brother Jason who'd often spew curses and was rather brash while you helped him.

Tim found himself really enjoying being taken care of by you too. He didn't often have the time or energy to spend with his siblings because between solving cases, school and being robin...all his time was gone. It was always late at night, before bed when everything was finished when he'd quietly chat with you while he patched up. The best thirty minutes he could ever spare. You were just so gentle and attentive with him, something he hadn't had since moving away from him bio family. He missed this domestic feeling, it was nice having someone care so much about him. His chest felt warm as you send a million apologies his way anytime he'd wince...He could almost die when you gave him a head pat for getting through all of it.

Tim feels so important when you're caring for him, it's so nice to be remembered...it's an addicting drug that he needed to keep getting high off of

Tim knew it was wrong to be reckless out in the city but...he couldn't help getting excited about the thought of you patching him up again..Just a few cuts was enough to spend a few valuable minutes with you again.

It's kind of crazy because he lives in the same house with you and could just spend time whenever but it wasn't the same in his mind. There wasn't any reason to be gentle with him when he wasn't hurt. You didn't pay extra attention or give him the same affection...he only mattered to you when he was hurt. That wasn't true but in his twisted his it was.

So Tim started being really reckless...not just on patrol but like..all of the time. If he decided to skateboard home, he's purposefully do some crazy trick on the top of the stairs...if he was on patrol he'd practically run to get hit by someone three times his size..

The more hurt he'd be, the happier because the worse the injury, the more attention he'd receive. Which would set off so many alarm bells because why are you so happy to be in pain. Like you are so weirded out as he's smiling up as you as you are fixing a stab wound.

Do you think he's made himself physically sick too? He'd chug down these horrible concoctions just to make himself vomit or manufacture fevers just so he can rest in your arms.

Maybe even sometimes he'd fake injuries just like he did with the whole knee brace situation..Such an attention whore gosh.

Like this man comes to you and is like "Hey! I think I am bleeding internally and my ribs are broken, please fix it sis." No, Timothy. You have to explain to him that you don't have the knowledge, skills or equipment to fix that. That he needs to go to the hospital right away and you're just freaking out. He's begging you to please help him and refusing medical attention for literally everyone else but you...

Did Bruce have to pull some strings to let the doctors let you assist in his medical treatment? Yes. He's so insane.

He also starts becoming jealous of the other siblings when you're patching them up. They don't deserve your attention. Alfred can take care of them, why do they all need you?? You're his sister, not theirs. UGHH He'd be on the verge of a freak out as you patch up Cass and Dick. Can you imagine how upset he'd be???

..and don't ever try to ban Tim from being taken care of by you. It doesn't matter that you put two and two together and realized he was doing this all for you,,,,just do your job! He needs you to take care of him.

Yan! Tim is far more unhinged than Dick so I can just imagine him getting himself severely hurt in front of you and you'd have no choice but to quickly do something about it....He's so fucked, I love him. Hopefully you've given him some stickers and a lollipop for all his troubles.

Because one of the things I know for a fact is if a god felt disrespected by your behavior towards them, you’d know.

reader and cassandra they were both raised by assassins so they probably bond over that and then how life is after leaving. it’s canon that cass can speak (which we’ve seen her do) but she uses body language instead of words. with this, i like to think that she can teach reader how to read people easier. you know, as a little bonding activity! also damian is canonically good with music (the violin specifically i believe), so reader is likely the same. so now just imagine reader playing an instrument while cass dances 🙏.

cass’s type of yandere is mostly just watching from the shadows. like reader brings a boyfriend home and cass is in the corner standing like mothman. if anyone does reader wrong TRUST cass will be kicking the hell out of them 🙏🙏.

Mal's full first name is Maldu. I imagine everyone would call them Mal except for Odile, since she calls Bonnie Boniface, and would presumably call Mal "Maldu."

Mal is like 12-15, I'm not really strict on the exact age. Since Mal would be the second youngest, they would probably like following Bonnie around even if Mal doesn't really know how to "play" or anything. They just kinda... stand there and try to curiously mirror whatever Bonnie does.

Mal is a bit quiet. They can speak, but they don't do so often, and are more likely to speak when they're upset than when they're pleased.

The red star that hangs from their bandana cannot be seen in colour unless Mal is especially upset. Not the most upset of their life like Siffrin, but even just a big cry could cause the star to shine for everyone to see.

Mal is very sensitive and cries easily. Siffrin's grown practiced at calming them down but still gets freaked out by the sudden tears.

Mal likes quietly watching and listening. They enjoy being taught by their allies how to perform certain tasks, and will give that wide-eyed look of a silent "really??" when praised for doing something right. They soak up praise like a sponge due to a perpetual feeling of doing something wrong.

While their right eye spirals, Mal's left iris is entirely white! It's usually covered by the slanted hat, however.

Siffrin accidentally created Mal through Wish Craft when he had a mental breakdown as a child/teen soon after the northern island's disappearance, though neither of them know this, and they did not meet until a couple years after this happened. Mal's existence slowly came to be with a clear understanding that they existed for a reason, but they weren't sure why. When Siffrin and Mal eventually crossed paths, it was like finding a second half that you hadn't even realized you had lost. Though even after meeting, the two are still unsure of how this happened to begin with. As far as Siffrin's concerned, the two just "clicked," and does not remember the breakdown. Meanwhile Mal's not really sure where they came from or what they are, but they gladly latch onto the protection Siffrin offers.

Mal is simultaneously an extension of Siffrin, and a separate being entirely. Mal was made from Siffrin's soul, even if Siffrin hadn't meant to share himself like that. When one is hurt, the other shares the echoes of their pain. Mal likely severely panicked when Siffrin lost the eye, and the echoing pain in Mal's own head surely didn't help. If ONE panicked kid (Bonnie) wasn't enough, you also get TWO in this AU! Congrats!

Since Mal was created from Siffrin's distraught state, it reflects through Mal in certain ways. How sensitive they are, how timid they are, their unease, their anxiety, etc. Siffrin's helping Mal every step of the way though, and is very protective of them, urging his allies to be gentle with them.
