The only time I got angry, like really angry, with Minthara was my first time playing as a paladin. And, you know, we're at the coronation and talking to Gortash and what not and he says that he'll turn a blind eye on all the things we do as long as we get Orins stone and leave his affairs alone. And I'm all like, "cool whatever". And then there's Minthara in the background being all, "we should swear an oath to this guy." And I was all "Good idea! Great role play stuff, add it to my paladin oath. This seems like something that a paladin should do and maintain peace."

Imagine the feeling of shock and horror when the oath breaker knight shows up immediately after swearing an oath to Gortash cause I didn't realize doing that BREAKS MY FUCKING OATH!!

Yeah, I had to put Minthara in time out for that, shit pissed me off so much. It is just absolutely wild how many things she tells you to do that breaks your oath when she knows damn well it will. But, nah, she's over there in the back chillin cause she knows her oath is intact after encouraging you to demolish yours. Even funnier that her oath only breaks cause you also have to tell her to do so and she does not fucking care that it gets broken and thinks it's better that it is.

I honestly feel like oaths should get broken by association. If a paladin tells another to do something knowing it'll break the others oath, then theirs gets broken too. I would like to say that maybe it'll make Minthara think twice about telling other paladins to break their oaths, but I know it won't. She's still gonna do it anyway. Especially since she does have a line where she just straight up tells you directly to break your oath, or if your oath is already broken she's just all "nice! me too! 👍"

You have a big house because you have a big family.

Or...Ingrid has a big house because she has a big family.

Your Mama says Ingrid has a fancy job which means she's very busy and gets lots of money. You think she's lying because Ingrid always has time to hang out with you and your nieces.

You have a lot of nieces.

Cub was Mapi's belly baby but that doesn't make her any less your niece. Then there's the twins, Bebita and Skatt. They were oopsy babies like you. Sunshine is next and then Teeny.

That makes five.

You have five nieces and you love them so much.

You keep a tight grip on Sunshine's hand as you're all led outside for pickup. You're her auntie and Ingrid says she's fragile after having her heart transplant so you make sure you don't lose her in the group of bodies heading outside.

Cub is up further ahead with your sister's twins following after her. Teeny lags behind because she's hanging back with one of Tia Alexia's twins.

But you keep a tight grip on Sunshine's hand because she's vulnerable and you're a good auntie.

Mapi is there waiting at the school gates and she hugs each and every one of you individually. You all get kisses too and her lips flutter around your face before you push her away.

"Really, Nena?" She says," I'm feeling a little offended here."

You giggle. "Silly, Mapi!"

"I'm not silly!"

"You are, Mami!" Cub agrees. She's hanging off of one of Mapi's strong arms and Mapi rolls her eyes.

"Let's agree to disagree," She says," Now, has everyone got everything? Bags? Bottles? Toes and fingers?"

"Uh-huh!"

"Alright, then. Buddy up, please. Hold someone's hand."

Bebita and Skatt crowd together and you keep Sunshine while Cub grabs Teeny, who whines a little while waving goodbye to her friend.

It's a very long walk back to the house so you only walk a little bit before Mapi gets you all into the car together.

You get to sit in the front because you're not one of Mapi's babies. You're her sister-in-law (although Ingrid always says you're not Mapi's sister-in-law yet) and then Cub and Sunshine sit in the way back because they're a pair.

Teeny, Skatt and Bebita sit in the middle because they're still little and Mapi needs to keep an eye on them.

"Is Ingrid home yet?" You ask as Mapi hands out snacks before driving off.

"Sorry, Nena," She says," Not just yet. Soon, though. She's been stuck in meetings today."

"What's for dinner?" Bebita asks.

"Spaghetti."

"I want lots of cheese on mine!" Skatt butts in and suddenly everyone is yelling their own choices and you giggle.

Your family is very big and very loud.

Ingrid says it's chaotic.

You think that means there's a lot of love to go around.

"Can I make Mama a picture?" Teeny pipes up suddenly.

She's been a little sad since leaving her friend behind at school. Teeny is the niece who spends the most time out of the house. She hangs out with Tia Alexia and her twins a lot.

Ingrid says it's because she's good with Pequeñita. They're painting buddies.

Teeny is always drawing and painting and if she's not drawing and painting then she's playing with Mr Pina, her hedgehog.

"Can we make Mama a picture too?" Bebita asks.

"Er...I don't know girls," Mapi says as she drives up the hill to the house," Have we got the supplies?"

"I've got paper in my room," You say.

"I sharpened my pencils last night." Teeny now.

"Mama got me new pens last week," Skatt adds.

"I've got glitter!" Sunshine says.

"And I've got the glue for the glitter!" That's Cub in the way-back.

"Mama bought us all new aprons too!" Bebita tacks on.

Mapi sighs. "Sometimes," She says," I think you lot gang up on me."

"Please, Mami?" Teeny asks," We won't get messy."

That's a lie, or, at least half a lie because Teeny is always messy. The others aren't though. Just Teeny.

It seems Mapi is thinking that too so you jump in.

"I can keep Teeny clean!"

She pretends to think about for a moment, tapping her fingers against the steering wheel. She sighs.

"I guess so. But-"

Her words are drowned out by the cheering of you and your nieces and she struggles to get you all out of the car quick enough when she pulls up to the house.

It's dark by the time Ingrid gets home and she curses herself as soon as she locks the car.

She hadn't meant to stay so late but she'd had meetings with Frido and the rest of her heads of department and then the website went down a few hours before the new sale went up so she'd had to call Caro up from her IT cave to get her to fix it.

It had been meeting on top of meeting on top of meeting getting everything ready for the launch next month that she'd hardly had time to stop and eat, let alone make it to the school with enough time for pick up.

She slips into the house.

"Hi, Bagheera," Ingrid says as the cat meanders towards her, tail flicking against her leg," It's good to see you too."

Mapi's in the living room, aimlessly flicking through channels. "You're home."

"Sorry I'm late. Work-"

"I know. Frido called. It's fine."

"No," Ingrid says," It's not. I said I'd pick up the girls today and-"

"Ingrid," Mapi laughs," Trust me, it's fine. You're practically single-handedly keeping us afloat. I'd hate to think about where we'd be living if you didn't have such an important job."

Ingrid's cheeks flush. "What did I do to deserve you, huh? You're such a smooth talker."

Mapi grins. "It's just one of my charms." She winks. "I'm your sexy arm candy, remember?"

Ingrid laughs. "Yes, you do look very good in a suit, don't you?"

"Want me to model some more for you?"

"I certainly want you to model something for me," Ingrid says," But it's not a suit."

She leans forward to kiss Mapi before freezing, pulling back suddenly.

"Ingrid? What is it?"

"I..."

Her eyes roves around the room.

Something's different.

The floor is spotless. The kitchen is clean. There's the lingering smell of whatever Mapi cooked the girls for dinner and-

The girls.

That's what's different.

Six little girls live in this house and yet there is practically no noise whatsoever. There's no giggling and laughing from Ingrid's twins. There's no running from Cub. There's no rhythmic thumping of a ball being kicked from your room. There are no spills of paint from Teeny's projects and there's no clicking of Sunshine's camera.

It's just...calm.

"Where are the girls?"

"Huh? The girls? Oh...They wanted to surprise you with something they made. I think they took it up to our room."

Ingrid strains her ears but still can't hear anything.

It's embarrassing how quickly she hurries up the stairs.

It's never good when a house of six girls goes silent.

Mapi follows after her and Ingrid wrenches the bedroom door open.

She stops, a smile appearing on her face.

Her girls are asleep on her and Mapi's bed, all cuddled up together under a massive portrait.

It's made up of several pieces of paper taped together and Ingrid knows it's meant to be of her.

"They wanted to draw you a picture," Mapi says," I didn't realise how big it was until they brought it up here."

"It's perfect," Ingrid says," Thank you for helping them."

"I didn't do much. Just taped it all together and-oh!"

It's nice that Ingrid can still make Mapi blush with just a simple kiss to the cheek.

"You're such a good mami, Mapi," Ingrid says," You're so good with them."

Mapi gives her a bashful smile. "It's bedtime. I can take them."

"No," Ingrid says," You've been with them since school ended. I'll take them to bed."

"Are you-"

"Mapi," Ingrid says," Go downstairs and watch some tv with Bagheera. When I come back, maybe you can model what I want you to model."

Mapi's face goes bright red and it's almost like she can't get downstairs quick enough.

Ingrid takes her time putting her girls to bed.

Cub is first, taken into her bedroom and put up high in her cabin bed. Garfield is splayed out on the middle of the carpet. León-León is already asleep too, taking up half the bed but Cub immediately curls around him in her sleep.

Bebita is next and Ingrid has to be careful walking through her room because it's like a minefield and she makes a mental note to make Bebita clean it up in the morning.

Skatt comes after her and Ingrid has to check that all her terrariums are closed so none of her bugs escape in the night.

Teeny follows after and Ingrid spares a glance over at Mr Pina's enclosure to make sure the little hedgehog's food bowl is filled up and his water is fresh.

Sunshine is put to bed after Teeny and Ingrid makes sure to flick on her fairy lights on in case she wakes up in the middle of the night.

You're last and wake as Ingrid lifts you.

"Ingrid," You mumble.

"Yes, Nena," She says," It's me."

"Did you see your picture?" You ask, still groggy as your head lolls on her shoulder.

"I did. You girls did such a good job with it."

"Made sure Teeny stayed clean."

"I could tell. You did such a good job, Nena."

She sets you down in your bed, pulling the covers up all the way to your chin as you yawn.

"Made sure Sunshine didn't get lost at school too."

"You're such a good auntie," She tells you, kiss your forehead," But it's bedtime now."

She goes to leave.

"Ingrid!"

"Hmm?"

"I love you."

Ingrid flicks off your light. "I love you too, Nena."

This man only has 1 kid, maybe 2 but that's kinda pushing it. I think he would be so worried about messing up his child the way his mother messed him up. He'd be strict yet dotting on his children; like he'll make sure their homework is done by a reasonable time and then praise them for doing really well on an assignment, especially if it's a subject they genuinely struggle with. If I'd say a boy dad or girl dad honestly, I think it could go either way, but I'm leaning towards boy dad.

Trey Clover-

I heavily believe he will have a big family anywhere from 4 - 7 kids. And these kids are absolutely close in age because I know the two of you are gonna get very busy, it feels like you're always pregnant with other people. Just imagine Trey with a mini him (or you) helping him crack the eggs in a bowl while they're wearing matching aprons <3. He would be a gentle parent but would put his foot down went he needed to. When it comes to girl dad or boy dad I can only think both!!

Cater Diamond-

At first he wasn't sure he wanted kids bc kids are a lot to take care of, but after the two of you being together and going through so much. He realizes deep down he did want to start a family with you. He would probably want only one or two but your first pregnancy you end up with triples; then you two said that's it until you got pregnant again with twins!!(My headcanon that Cater's special magic makes it more likely to have twins, triplets, etc come for here!!). It wasn't what the two of you anticipated but you couldn't be happier

Your pair of triplets ended up being 2 girls and a boy, then your twins were girls. He's a very fun dad always staying on top of the trends and slang. He has a hard time laying down the law with his kids sometimes, so you have to do it most of the time but when he really has to he does. *Bonus: You guys have 4 family photo shoots a year, and multiple photo albums*

Ace Trappola-

He probably has 3-5 kids, but from time to time it feels like you have 4-6 kids. He's always getting into trouble with them, playing pranks on you and others, even each other. There is no quiet in your household, it doesn't exist til everyone's asleep. Your kids are the most playful and competitive children you've ever seen, but they know to dial it back from time to time; Ace told them "When your mom says it once, she might be joking, if she says it twice she more likely serious so listen, if you make it to three....your the only name going on that tombstone". You guys are the most chaotic adorable family ever.

Deuce Spade-

He has 3 kids and not a single one of them is male, bc this man is %100 a GIRL DAD!! At first he was nervous about messing her up but after your first girl turned 3 and your second is 1, he couldn't imagine having a boy. He is the most proud girl dad you'll ever see. Is so protective of his amazing girls(that includes you btw), would fight off mosquito if it bit one his girls, no matter have stupid he looks. Spoils his little girls in any way he can, luckily you're there to make sure their not TOO spoiled.

Leona Kingscholar-

This man has 2 children and always makes sure one never feels less than the other. He knows what it's like to be stuck in your siblings shadow so he tries to make sure that never happens to his kids. While he won't always be present since he is still part of the royal family and therefore will have certain royal duties to fulfill; he will always do his best to be there for his kids. He does sleep less then he did before since his life is busier, but he always makes sure to take a nap everyday so when he's with his wife and kids he'll be able to be in a better mode to see his beautiful family. He would have one girl and one boy.

Ruggie Bucchi-

3-8 kids. His kids are the rowdiest, sneakiest kids you've ever seen. Although most of the time they're super sweet(to you). The first time you two talked about kids you agreed on only 2, but after having your first 2 rascals. You two got some more baby fever and ended up having only a few more. You did have a good paying job so you could take care of your little pack of children. The Bucchi household never has a boring day because there is always something really exciting or crazy that is happening. Overall he has more girls than he does boys. You first daughter stays a daddy's girl <3, but dw he loves all his kids equally!

Jack Howl-

4 kids, an even amount. He isn't the most expressive Dad but his kids can tell how he feels based on body language and physical acts. While to others it may seem as if he couldn't care less about his kids, it is the complete opposite. Always making sure their ok, celebrating their accomplishments, and always encouraging them to do what they love. His kids can tell through these small acts that he loves them. Your husband loves to take early morning runs, ofc but when your kids are babies he would take them in their stroller so they can get some fresh air to get them in a good mood. He does that so that maybe if their baby is in a better mood you won't have to much stress when trying to figure out what they need; it makes both of your lives easier. At first the two of you though you'd only have boys bc of your first 3 but then low and behold, your last kid was a baby girl<3!!

Having been Lewis Hamilton's long timed girlfriend is nice but being his wife and being able to give him kids which he wanted for a really long time is a whole different kind of happiness, still working but part time and pregnant it was difficult at times.

Lewis insisted for y/n to be just a house wife for their baby on the way and him making a lot more than needed, y/n not wanting to be stuck in their home all day and night she worked at mornings until lunch.

When she was off the clock, she was shopping for their baby, not yet knowing the gender but still the same excitement of adding to their family. Lewis when he was not on races or meetings he was helping y/n with their baby's room decorations for babies, building the baby's crib. It was chaotic for those nine months.

When the baby was finally born it came out to be a beautiful girl, named Aurora Hamilton

Aurora now after a few months started to crawl, teething and being clingy to her daddy. She was an angel through and through, well behaved baby girl, it helped when Lewis was busy and wanting to give him space when Y/n noticed he was anxious or upset at something related to work. She did noticed everything.

She called her mother in law to take their little girl for the weekend so they can talk about what it was bother Lewis and it did happen.

She had prepared dinner with red sweet wine with dessert all made by her and creating an atmosphere for them and Lewis relax.

She finished just in time when she heard the keys jiggle and the door unlocking in the process.

Love? I am at home! * he shouted as he walked away from the front door and into the hallway that led to the kitchen and the dining room where she stood with a bouquet of his favourite flowers in front of her and his favourite dress on her body.

Hello you handsome * she exclaimed beaming to see him. He too me he saw her broke to a huge grin on his face and the both took steps towards each other and embrace each other, their lips connecting them to a long awaited kiss.

So what do you want to do first? Should I prepare you a shower and then sit down eat and talk or eat and talk then a bath?

She tilted her head to the side waiting for his answer.

Lewis... You should follow your heart, I know it is your dream team from when we were little kids, in my opinion you should take it if you want and if it is the right decision then good if not then you can make the most of it.

There was a long pause, y/n watched as the wheels in his head turned thinking of what to do

I think I will sleep on it and then I will decide... * he finally said shallowing a portion of the pasta with the shrimp his wife made for them and washing it down with a little bit of wine. Anyway, we should just eat and relax for a bit then I will take you up to your offer for a hot bath.

Y/n just nodded her head and they continued to eat the past with a soft chatter was created in the atmosphere with soft giggles and laughter.

They ate the dessert and finished their wine, got up and went to the shower so they can soak up to the tub filled with hot water and oils, snuggled up to each other's embrace with soft musik in the background.

When the water turned cold the got up dressed in their pj's and cuddled up into the bed giving each other kisses to where the could find their sleepy self's.

First, ouch to that dialogue you wrote when Doflamingo tells Reader he killed Rosinante without really telling her. That wine drinking while sobbing GIF is accurate. My heart broke when Reader called Corazon her brother-in-law. 🥹🥹😭😭 Gosh, Corazon would be the best brother-in-law.

Regarding the three ways it could go for Reader's behaviour, I mean... All of them are great. All of them can be their own fics. I think since Reader is a princess she may be a bit naive as in the 1st possibility you wrote down, I really like that one. 🥹 I think it can then become Reader slowly becoming aware of all the shit he does but hell... you're stuck with him, it's till death do you part. Anyway 1st option is nice and 3rd is great and 2nd is great, you know what, just write fics for them all, I'll read them all! 😂

I think for the Yandere Doffy fic, Reader & Rosi as besties, he loves her and she loves him but not with any budding romantic feelings. They have this deep bond of "we are taking care of the most chaotic crazy man alive" type of thing if it makes sense? Rosi & Reader love each other on a deep non-romantic level, they take care of each other etc etc.

Okay, now back to Lami meeting Cora, bcs I can't get it out of my head. Law saving Lami, them both making it out, and Law trying to find work at Spider Miles and giving all his food to his little sister (reminds you of someone? It's Little Doffy) and eating bread (which he hates) just so his sister can be healthy. Of course, the work doesn't pay well, and Law gets desparate. We can change his meeting with Donquixote Pirates that he tries to sneak into the base to steal treasure & food (it's go big or go home for Law, he will stop at nothing for his little sister) and Doflamingo catches him and is about to torture him (yikes) but both you and Lami arrive and cue the reunion and you recognising them both and THAT'S how they join the Donquixote Pirates. We can just make it so Lami's disease is, since she is no longer exposed to Flevance's air, not advancing so quickly and she makes it for the next 3 years. And then Cora takes them away. And just... Lami and Cora are the enthusiastic, positive ones, they're playing around, Cora dances with Lami on a festival he takes Lami and Law to, Lami always sits on his coat on his shoulder, she loves Cora-san's coat so much. She thinks Cora-san's power is the coolest thing, too. Law is smiling a bit more with Lami around, hoping at least his sister makes it. If not him, at least his sister. Now imagine both Law & Lami in that treasure chest, gosh, no, nooo 😭😭

Also, Lami would totally braid Doflamingo's hair while he dozes in an armchair. He wonders why everyone is snickering at him and why you're giggling and it takes a while before he goes to the mirror and sees he has multiple ponytails in his hair. Extra cuteness if Baby 5 helped Lami, too. Anyway, I also think Lami would join Cora in shoving the Op-Op Fruit into Law's mouth. Law would want Lami to take it but Lami goes girlboss and holds her brother down so Cora can feed him the Op-Op Fruit while Law struggles and kicks. Just normal sibling thing to do. Also, she'd bite Vergo. Or kick him where the sun doesn't shine.

Aaand now I want to write a full fic of Cora's journey with Law & Lami. Dammit. 😭 I do think Doffy will be softer with Lami than with Law? Who knows. I like to think Doffy is a girl dad deep down in his heart (points to Baby 5). Good thing Law & Lami left cus no way would she have a boyfriend. The xf fandom has a general consensus Fox Mulder is a bit crazy. A maniac is how its been described. A lesser discussed idea is that although Fox Mulder is completely unhinged in such a pure BDE, knows the norms of society and doesn't give any shits kind of way, Dana Scully is also not quite completely "typical". She just looks very sane comparatively when next to her partner.

Placed in any other situation or with regular FBI partners, she's kind of a weirdo too. For me, she effervesces horse girl energy. Good, funny, weird, horse girl energy.

What is horse girl energy? You might ask. I found an excellent summation in a lovely article on Mashable.

Big dick energy and horse girl energy are innately opposite vibes -- if big dick energy is chaotic good, horse girl energy is lawful neutral. If you have big dick energy, you're probably kind of weird because you don't give a shit about what people think of you -- you set the social norms. If you have horse girl energy, you're probably kind of weird because you're blissfully unaware of social norms.

I could probably write an essay about Mulder's BDE didn't fully evolve until he met Scully and she believed in him. All others opinions of him fell away and he wasn't so bothered by everyone calling him spooky anymore. But for right now, this is about Scully.

I am obviously not talking about cliche horse girl attributes. That they talk about nothing but horses, they wear their riding pants or boots outside of the barn or anything overtly obvious.

Im talking about pure personality and vibes.

Im talking about the cool girl essence. The eccentricity and the slight obliviousness to social etiquette. The way they can be confident and serious without worrying if they're offending anyone. The way they can be completely standoffish until someone makes their way past that barrier and then they are the kindest warmest people you know. The headstrong way about them. Of the fact they, having dealt with 2000 pound animals since they were basically toddlers, take no shit from anyone, especially men. And yes, perhaps are a little bit crazy too.

So maybe her parents let her muck out stalls in exchange for riding privileges at the local barn in Annapolis or something as a kid but yeah, thats my canon and Im sticking to it.

Anyway Mulder and Scully were made for each other. La di da.

Suddenly inspired by one artwork where one artist's commander is depicted on different mythic path. It made me want to draw some of them too! Each choice will affect Melissa differently, both externally and internally.

Maybe some of you have thought of something like that too. I think it's really cool!

WARNING!!! That's a lot of letters ~ Because I can and I will I LOVE making long posts with lots of text. A-HA-HA!!!

The True path. The alignment remains the same, Chaotic-Neutral. More madness and fun. Melissa certainly wouldn't give up the ability to interfere even with the universe if it were possible. The only outward difference is the occasional appearance of a strange mask on her face. At times like that, you never know what to expect from this tiefling. I had a hell of a hard time drawing that mask, but it turned out great. Just the way I wanted it to turn out.

Angel: "/ Melissa's eyes look down in confusion. You can hear the shaky notes of confusion in her voice. She is unusually silent. The weight of responsibility now rests on her shoulders. / I thought this was going to be an amusing joke. Tiefling's more like an angel, and she's got stupid wings! Sounds mad, doesn't it? My skin and hair… Do I really look like a human now? It's wild…. It's so weird to feel so many hopeful looks on me. I don't even know what to say…"

The alignment changed to Neutral. And from this point on, some of her views on life would have to be reevaluated, which was extremely discouraging. Melissa will become much more serious and calm, less 24/7 style jokes. More adequacy. Her skin will lighten and her hair will take on its usual human brown hue as will her eyes. The appearance of wings, of course, and a semblance of a warm glow from behind, like the aasimar's. She didn't choose this path because there was no point in bringing righteousness and law to a world that was already rotten. Easier to destroy everything… Isn't it?

Azata: "Okay, wait… What the?! Butterfly wings?! Plants on my head?! I look like a pink princess, only without the dress!" / Melissa looks extremely annoyed. No matter how hard she tried to pluck the flowers, they grew on her head again and again, covering her horns with fragrant roses. Slowly she begins to relax, realizing that it's no use. / Damn it!.. Okay, okay. I think I liked that. A little bit... Maybe bringing 'kindness' and 'freedom' isn't as stupid as I thought… Don't dare laugh!"

Chaotic-Good By the end of the game, Melissa becomes softer and kinder. But she's not thrilled with the sudden external changes anyway. You know, flowers and butterflies. The reason for her rejection of this path is simple. She doesn't believe in all that nonsense about friendship, loyalty, kindness and so on. Didn't grow up in that kind of environment. ...Azata - it's not necessarily blue colors. I just want red 🗿 No Desna. Just Cayden Cailean and Calistria!

Demon: "/ Her burning eyes reflected real rage and bloodlust. It was as if primordial chaos in all its horrifying splendor came into view. The thirst for destruction that had haunted her all her life had taken on new colors, and she was ready to carry it with renewed vigor. The girl's voice was no longer human, but rather frighteningly demonic. / I want to break someone's spine, fracture their skull, gut their insides... How ironic. All my life I've been called many things: monster, beast, demon. And now... Now I'm exactly what you thought I was. I hope you're all happy."

REALL Chaotic- Evil The saddest path for Melissa, in my opinion. Especially for a tiefling, considering they often do bad things under societal pressure. Absolute hatred for anything and everything. The appearance would be demonic.

The closest thing to her was the Demon path. Sure, it was very tempting to gain destructive power and take revenge on everyone who had hurt her, but that would be too easy. Deep down, Melissa really didn't want anything like that. If you got to know her better, you'd realize that she's not as bad as she seems at first glance.

P.S.: Yes, she has a big scar on her neck. There will definitely be pages later on about how she got it. It has to do with her death and sudden resurrection.

The Extended Mukami Family Headcanons – Part 2

Part 1

Family Dinners

Since Ruki, Yuriko, and Christine all enjoy cooking, they are often found in the kitchen. Azusa has started to spend more time there too. Even though it seems Azusa is doing much better these days, Yuriko still worries a bit and tries secretly to keep an eye on him so that accidents won’t happen in the kitchen.

When Maria visits with or without Laito, she might also cook with the others.

Ruki trusts all the young women handling his kitchen with care and isn’t too worried. But there is one guest he is hesitant to let do cooking there: Yuriko’s sister-in-law, Nalia. It annoys him that Nalia was the first to discover how kitsune udon affects the Kitsune. He feels like Nalia is his kitchen rival and sometimes call her a witch because of that.

Family dinners can be chaotic when everyone is at home but they are also cozy and fun. They are also a good way to catch up on how everyone’s doing.

Kou sometimes complains that there is Vongole Bianco too rarely these days. Ruki doesn’t care about his whining and says it’s only fair that everyone gets to eat their favorite dishes. Since the family is bigger than it used to be, that means each favorite dish comes more rarely.

Family Activities

Last summer, the whole family went on a beach vacation for a weekend. When they booked the rooms, there was some hassle because Eri wasn’t sure if she wanted to have her own room or not. Yuriko booked a room for both Eri and Yuma and made sure there was one bed only. 

The family had surprisingly much fun on the beach even though many of them don’t actually enjoy the heat. But they like water, and it wasn’t a problem to hang out on the beach during the night time too.

While Kazemi is the most active one occupying the pools in the manor, other girls like to join her every now and then. Sometimes this turns into family pool time. Kazemi has mixed feelings about that. She is happy to have friends around her but values her alone time too.

Other than that, they sometimes spend family evenings with board games or puzzles. Ruki enjoys those a lot.

When there is a show, concert, or movie with Kou in it on TV, everyone gathers in the living room to watch it. Ruki and Yuriko usually sit in the corner of the couch, reading the same book, but they still want to be part of the occasion.

Alone and Couple Time

Since the manor is rather crowded these days, it might be difficult to get alone time and sometimes this causes arguments when the noises of others annoy someone.

Yuma tends to retreat into his garden when he has had enough of the company of others. He enjoys his garden work in general, but sometimes that also offers peace and a break from everything. If he finds Yuriko napping there as a fox then, it annoys him even more, and sometimes he picks her up by her nape and carries her to Ruki.

Eri takes her alone time to work on her art. While she is happy others are interested in her works, she sometimes wishes she could be in complete silence and just focus on drawing in peace.

Kou is more extroverted than Kazemi. Sometimes this causes arguments between the couple.

Azusa used to spend much more time alone before meeting Christine, but now these two are enjoying each other's company most of the time. If they want time of their own, they retreat to their room.

Ruki simply yearns for a time of his own. He still uses his study occasionally when he needs a retreat. Also, sometimes he has headaches and then he can’t stand any noise. Since he and Yuriko moved into the library on the third floor of the manor, they can be there in peace.

Full Moon

Once a month, there is chaos in the manor. The full moon puts everyone on the edge.

Eri tends to disappear completely when the moon is full, and no one knows where she goes. When asked, she only says that the moon makes her feel odd or not well. This annoys Yuma to no end. He would love to have her home during that time.

Other couples stay together and spend their couple alone time.

Sometimes, Ruki and Yuriko go for a nightly flight during the full moon, but many times they simply retreat to the third floor of the manor and sleep late the next morning.

Today’s been…quite a day.

I’ve been involved in my fair share of cases as a hero-in-training — but nothing at all like this. The demon that lies dormant in one of my friend’s dads deciding to come out to play and wrecking chaos across the whole city. Every available super being called in to control him. I will never underestimate a demon again. On one hand, the whole experience has given me a wealth of fresh writing material for my next supernatural novel, but on the other hand — I appreciate that we’re lucky to be alive, let alone still standing. So many people have been injured, or just completely broken themselves with over-exertion of their powers. I…am bloody exhausted. It’s a miracle I can still hold myself up on my two feet. I feel like I’m about to crash at any second. My suit is practically caked with dirt and sweat from my earlier fight. Both of my eyelids are heavy from exhaustion, my muscles silently screaming in protest. All I want right now is to flop down onto bed, close my eyes and sleep for a very long time — but that will have to wait until after we’ve finished supporting the other injured supers. That’s what I’ve been doing with the other standing sidekicks for the last hour or so, running here and there to grab supplies, support the medical staff, check in on my fellow sidekicks — just as any cohort leader would do. 

I’m just glad none of them were seriously hurt…

Still, things finally seem to be dying down a little in terms of what I can actually help with. The possibility of sweet, sweet sleep comes closer and closer. I can almost—

"Kinetica!”

I quickly spin around, my eyes widening as I recognise the head of the clinic — who also happens to be the head of the Sidekick Programme.

“Dr Slade, what—”

“I need you to go join the other three at the reception. I have an important assignment for you lot."

It takes every bit of my effort not to groan aloud.

Another assignment?

“Got it,” I reply, forcing myself to straighten up, “I’ll head over there right now.”

As he brushes past me, I notice the uncharacteristically grim expression on his face. Whatever he wants us to do must be pretty important. With that in mind, I don’t waste a second as I quickly change course to head to the reception. By the time I arrive there, my fellow sidekicks are already present — at least, the ones still standing.

“Oh, there you are. He asked you too then?”

“Looks like it,” Freeze Frame responds, shrugging her shoulders.

“Do you guys have any idea what he wants?” Ghost asks, shuffling on the spot, “He seemed…rather frantic.”

“That’s one way to put it,” Freeze murmurs, “They only just got all the phone lines working again and then he just yelled at us all to come here.”

“Yeah, he was definitely stressing about something,” Eclipse adds, running a hand through his dark hair, “I thought the worst was over?” I open my mouth to speak, but Dr Slade’s footsteps quickly round the corner, accompanied by Magnetic Girl, one of the city’s newest qualified heroes. 

I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

And we do. That grim expression not once leaving his face, he doesn’t waste a single breath in relaying our mission to us. Said mission is simple in theory— infiltrate a shadow-jumping supervillain’s lair to rescue three captive supers, one of which just happens to be one of Dr Slade’s sons and my former classmate, Phoenix.

“Um, why us, Doctor?” Eclipse asks, frowning, “I thought they said we weren’t allowed to do more?”

"Well, to be frank, it's not ideal, but you are one of the few still standing," he answers quickly "Also, you'll be going to Massachusetts, where there's no laws regarding sidekick activity or age restrictions, but nor is there a very flexible cooperation with local law enforcement, so watch yourselves while you're out there."

“Do we have any more information?” Magnetic Girl asks, fighting to keep her voice level, “A-Ash, Al, Lyall, are they all—”

“All I know is that Circuit and Frostbringer — two of their friends — and Phoenix have all endured torture. Verdigris and March Hare set out to rescue them some time ago, but they believe it isn’t going well.”

My eyes widen.

Oh God, I hope they’re not badly hurt—

“They’re going to need the backup. Magnetic Girl and Mirage will be in charge. The latter will jump you and then you’ll have to scope the situation from there,” he continues, “Any questions?”

All of us remain silent. “Arite. Get a caffeine pill for energy and get going. We’ll be ready on standby for any injuries. Kinetica, you’ll back up Magnetic Girl as leader. Understood?”

N-no pressure…

Still, it’s not much different from anything else we’ve done. An infiltration, a rescue mission — we’ve done it several times. This time can’t be much different. 

How hard could it be? I’m pretty much qualified by now.

With as confident an expression as I can, I firmly nod my head.

“Understood.”

Glancing back at my fellow sidekicks, I pull a pill from my pocket and crunch down on it.  “Let’s get going.”

…I must have jinxed us. That can be the only explanation for what is happening in front of us. 

“O-oh my God!”

After jumping from the Coral HQ to the suspected location of the supervillain’s lair — one shadow-jumping ‘Wheeler’ — we quickly found our captive friends. I was expecting them to be locked in cages or tied up or something. Something simple and easy to free them from. 

Not…this.

“Wh-what the hell?!” Eclipse’s exclamation is answered only by the agonised screaming and yelling ripping around the large chamber. I spin around rapidly, my eyes broadening in horror at the nightmare being played out before us. I’ve watched plenty of horror movies before, including the ones with the inescapable death traps, but this takes it to a whole new level. My black hair whips my back as I take every bit of it in. 

First – Phoenix, his wrists shackled to the ground into a kneeling position, doubling over in agony. Black blood stains his uniform. Copious amounts of the stuff come dribbling out of his mouth as his muscles spasm.

Next — Frostbringer, lying in chains on the ground, blindfolded. Fallen debris lies scattered around him, some of it pinning his legs. Blood pools out from under him. Ropes hang from the ceiling, suspending giant pieces of rock above him, a long steel blade inches from dropping the next one.

Then — Circuit, wrists cuffed behind his back, thrashing his green hair around with a terrified wail. The chain around his waist tightens, dragging him closer and closer to a dark ominous pit. I…don’t even want to imagine what might be at the bottom.

After him — Verdigris. I can just about see him under the giant wooden board he’s chained under, gasping and crying out from the weight of the rocks crushing him on the board. I swear I hear a snapping sound as he screams pitifully in pain.

And then lastly — March Hare. He sits at the very top, tears streaming down his face. He is forced to the ground, a noose cutting into his neck, his frantic guilt-ridden shrieks muffled through the thick rag tied extremely tightly between his teeth. I almost miss the needle jabbed into his neck, visibly draining him of blood with every single struggle.

The screams, the cries, the agonising snapping and whirring. The shadow jumping maniac who appears right behind our mortified group. I can only utter a single sentence.

“...I am absolutely not qualified for this shit.”

And with that damning declaration, we find ourselves violently thrust into the mission.

"Leave the villain to me.”

Without warning, Magnetic Girl yanks out a tranquiliser, throwing it viciously at Wheeler. I barely have time to process before the other three sidekicks immediately spin around to face me. “What do we do?" Eclipse asks hurriedly, "or more like, where do we start?"

All of their wide eyes on me. Me. The leader of our small group. I feel the doubt and insecurities spiking again, especially at the severity of our situation.

“No! L-Lyall—LYALL!”

“G-guys — nngha! D-don’t die!”

Their helpless desperate screams pull me straight back into focus.

They all need you, Cass. You’ve got this.

"O-okay. Okay. Ghost, try and catch Circuit. Freeze, see if you can slow down the bad guys or any of the falling debris on Frostbringer — you’ll want to hurry!”

I direct them as firmly as I can with wild hand gestures. My mind whirs at a million miles a minute. “And uh—Eclipse, we'll get Verdigris! We also need to break their cuffs, that's what's suppressing their powers! Once we've got them out, we'll grab March and Phoenix, okay? Now move!”

There’s no time for questions. No time to process. All we can do is send a brief encouraging nod before leaping to the heart of the action.

1- HMMMM, that is tricky, cause like Blue would either win or be first out depending on her energy and if she wants to do it KJD;SGJKA otherwise, I think Grey and Bullet may be first out- Grey is a bit too nice and Bullet is clumsy DAKJG then it would prob be Max and the rest of the Boys, Max is too cocky, Logan is also a bit clumsy and a lil too safe, and Tyler, Tyler is just participating he'll be dramatic as hell once he's shot LKAJS;FGAJ who would probably win in that case has to be Amy, she's the most chaotic and energetic one here (she would 100% climb trees or hide on/behind rocks and ambush people) but thats only if Blue doesn't have the energy, if she does, everyones doomed DASJG

2- Max does indeed have bio parents! As of right now, I currently have no plans for them to show up? That could change however, but he was abandoned by them and thats why he lived on the streets for a bit. Thats also why Max steals a lot and stashes things in random places cause thats what he had to do live. Sometimes tho, being a child, he would steal stuff that caught his eye too; got him caught eventually. But yeayea, his parents abandoned him! So idk if they'd come back, I'd have to ponder on that

3- I'll give you two facts! Her and Lavender are step-sisters! Lavender's dad and Blackberry's mom got together, Blackberry wasn't too fond of Lavender at first? Cause she didn't want a new dad, meanwhile on Lavender's side everything was awkward cause I have it planned rn that Lavender's mom died during childbirth, so Lavender never really knew her mom or had a mom, so having one then was just super awkward! But yeayea Plum is their half-sister! :D Another lil fact more about her deal, is that, she's one of the ones that would tell the Bitch things about Blue, she didn't know what that Bitch was doing so it wasn't entirely intentional? But it still was harmful and not from a great place, so she made Blue's situation worse regardless

4- Oh he's definitely stepped on a couple of burrs before KASDGJ he does the biggest YOWCH and jumps up from them for sure ASDGKJL I think the most Bullet would ever wear is sandals, but he wouldn't wear SHOE shoes for sure, he's used to being barefoot, he might actually wear crocs tho those definitely got his vibes LKAJSDG; but yea he does not like burrs OH YEA YEA the longest pair of pants he has doesn't even reach his ankles I don't think he likes wearing long pants, he'll have to do it in winter though cause he doesn't handle the cold that well, so he'll tolerate it then but the moment, the MOMENT, it gets warmer it is back to shorts LKAJSDG
