Ginny Weasley Dealing With The Inherent Trauma of Being Possessed by Voldemort For a Year Fics
"There has been no lasting harm done, Ginny," said Dumbledore.
Ginny Weasley's life after the Chamber of Secrets, because Dumbledore always was a well-meaning liar.
She may miss Harry so much it hurts, and she may be absolutely furious with him for leaving her so cut up and in this mess that is her life, but she’ll be damned if she’s to do nothing while the world falls apart around her.
No, Ginny Weasley doesn’t fall apart.
She fights.
Ginny Weasley fought a demon in her head during her first year at Hogwarts and lost.
Eventually, Harry killed that part of Voldemort's soul, but things like that always leave scars.
It was not Harry’s heroism, Ron’s desperation, her mother’s love, or her brothers’ toilet seat humor that brought her back (though the toilet seat helped). Ginny breathed deep at night. She wept. She remembered how to rage. She snuck out at night and stole each of her brothers’ brooms in turn. She took to the skies and brought herself back to life.
And then she was laughing, but it was more like crying, with the big useless breaths she kept having to take. She held onto Harry’s arms very tight.
Maybe, she thought, and the thought was sudden and strange to her, she wasn’t always going to have dry eyes.
There are scars, of course, but no one else notices.
This is her rebirth. Ginny Weasley died on the floor of a dark wet chamber in an ancient castle, clutching a diary to her chest. She is reborn in the dry hotness of a country summer, outside, tossing a diary to the flames.
“As I was saying, you’re killing yourself for me, and I really do appreciate it. So how about I give you a parting gift? Anything you’d like, within reason.”
“A kiss,” she says without hesitation.
It’s all over the school by dinnertime: Ginny Weasley’s boggart is a boy.
“It’s okay to still be upset about it, you know,” Harry murmured, hand still held against her cheek. “Just because it’s over doesn’t mean that you’re over it.”
And that was the crux of the matter, wasn’t it?
It was over and everyone just assumed that meant that she was over it. She had healed okay on the outside, she hadn’t died though she had come so close, so she must be okay on the inside too, right?

‘So I made Ginny write her own farewell on the wall and come down here to wait. She struggled and cried and became very boring. But there isn’t much life left in her: she put too much into the diary, into me. Enough to let me leave its pages at last. I have been waiting for you to appear since we arrived here. I knew you’d come. I have many questions for you, Harry Potter.’
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Chapter 17: THE HEIR OF SLYTHERIN
In this simple sentence from Tom about Ginny you can sense the overbearing sadism of this man. He doesn't care at all about this little girl he's known for months, on the contrary she finds her drama boring. Now you're a merciless villain.

Harry wants it known that he’s at the ministry’s Yule gala under duress. It was all he could do to force himself into his dress robes and make himself presentable; he can’t fathom where he’ll find the energy he needs to get through the rest of the evening.
People he barely knows keep coming up to him – as they always do to shake his hand, chat with him about this and that, thank him for his role in defeating the dark lord. (Still. He really wishes they’d stop doing that. It’s been more than six years now.)
And then there are pockets of people, staring at him and whispering behind their hands. Another constant in his public appearances, though he imagines the content of their conversations is at least a little different from usual, if not the tone.
He’s just escaped another fan and is looking to make a beeline for the bar when it happens. Harry sees his doom approaching from several metres away but, since they saw him first and he (stupidly) refuses to run away, he stands there like an idiot, wishing he were anywhere else.
“Hi Harry,” Ginny says. It looks like she wants to hug him or get close, and his shoulders stiffen involuntarily. Thankfully, she stays where she is.
“Hullo Ginny,” he replies and, without looking at the man, utters a terse, “Malfoy.”
The smug arse smirks at him. “Potter.”
“How’ve you been?” Ginny asks, which. Rude. If she actually cared about that, she wouldn’t have cheated on him with the git on her arm, but whatever.
“Oh, fine. Y’know, keeping busy.” God, he hates small talk.
Before he can respond with the requisite, ‘And you?’, Malfoy jumps in. “Yes, I suppose you have been, from what I’ve heard.”
Ugh. Fucking Malfoy. Harry wishes he had a drink or seven. He can’t believe he’d rather be caught in another conversation with that weirdo from earlier about his wand-care habits, of all things.
Ginny gently elbows Malfoy in the side with a chiding, “Draco.”
He’s considering the merits of letting himself be ripped apart by the anti-apparition wards to get away from this conversation – splinching himself can’t be much more painful than this – when a hand bearing a very welcome drink appears in front of him. That’ll do for now, though splinching is still on the table. Especially when he follows the hand to the arm up to the face and of course it’s Ri– Tom.
Harry gives him the side-eye, but accepts the drink. “Thanks.”
Tom leans in slightly, just enough so the two in front of them can’t read his lips. “You looked like you might be in need of a rescue.”
And as he pulls back out of Harry’s personal space, he rests a hand low on Harry’s back. Harry tenses for a moment before just accepting that tonight is all about him being as uncomfortable as possible. He takes a gulp of his drink – something dark and spicy. It burns pleasantly.
When he starts paying attention again, he finds Ginny looking at Tom with surprise; Malfoy is looking at the other man with – is that a hint of fear? And Tom is staring them both down, but somehow managing to do it with a veneer of politeness.
“Good evening, Draco,” he says pleasantly. “Ginevra.”
“Riddle.” Malfoy’s greeting is stiff, as is the awkward, aborted bow he gives. Hmm.
“And Harry,” Tom says, turning to look at him fondly. “So good to see you again.”
Hoo boy.
“You,” Harry murmurs from behind the rim of his drink. “Are not subtle.”
Tom takes the opportunity to slide his hand further around Harry’s back, lightly gripping his hip and pulling him closer up against Tom’s side. He returns Harry’s withering look with an undaunted smile. “I wasn’t trying to be.”
“Yeah, I’m getting that.”
“When did you two get so cosy?” Ginny cuts in. Her tone is playful, but there’s more than offhand curiosity lurking beneath.
“Uh.” Shite, he doesn’t ever want Ginny to find out how this started, but especially not in public. Who knows who’s listening in or watching. “We ran into each other by chance a month and a half ago” –actually, he’s how I found out you were fucking Malfoy behind my back– “and we’ve met up a few times since then. It’s nice to have someone… uninvolved to talk to.”
Tom looks amused at that. He’s definitely involved in the demise of Harry’s relationship, and if there’s one thing they haven’t been doing (but probably should), it’s talking.
“I’ve been helping him expand his horizons,” Tom says without apparent innuendo, yet somehow the layered meaning is still obvious. Prat. “Getting him to try new things, keeping him busy.”
“You and half the town,” Malfoy mutters under his breath.
“I see…” Ginny says over him. “Funny how that escaped the rumour mill.”
Harry laughs awkwardly, wishing for a stray lightning bolt to strike and put him out of his misery. “Must not’ve been exciting enough.”
The conversation dies for long enough to become uncomfortable - well, even more so. Malfoy touches Ginny’s elbow and leans down to speak into her ear. Harry seizes their distraction to turn on Tom.
“Are you sure you don’t want to piss on me to mark your territory while you’re at it?” he asks dryly.
Tom wrinkles his nose delicately in disgust. “No need to be crude. Though…” He gives Harry a considering once-over. “I’m not at all opposed to the idea of you carrying my mark. How do you feel about tattoos?”
Harry snorts. “Not a chance.”
The other man tucks his face in close to Harry’s, breath hot against the skin beneath his ear. “What about bruises?”
As though he doesn’t regularly leave an abundance of those on Harry anyway, what with his penchant for treating Harry like a chew toy. Harry shivers all the same, just a little bit. He can feel the barest brush of Tom’s grin against his neck.
Ginny clears her throat pointedly.
“Good to know,” Tom breathes as he pulls back.
Ginny continues trying to talk to him while Malfoy makes the odd snide comment, Tom attempts to meld into Harry’s side while replying for him and being subtly insulting, and Harry tries to become one with the floor. He realises he’s missed a question when he breaks out of his daze to find both Tom and Ginny are watching him expectantly.
“Huh?”
Ginny starts to say something when Tom cuts her off. "Care to dance?"
If looks could kill, Tom would be in a bad way with how Ginny’s glaring at him. "Harry doesn't dance," she says tetchily. Tom doesn't bother with her, waiting for Harry's wary nod.
He looks back at Ginny smugly. "Perhaps yet another new thing to which I can introduce him.”
“Okay, that’s enough,” Harry says, grabbing Tom’s wrist and dragging him towards the dance floor. Best to get this over with, and all the better if it means he doesn’t have to speak with anyone else in the meantime.
"She's not wrong," he mutters once they don't have to fear being overheard. "I don't dance.”
"Just follow my lead," Tom replies easily. “Would it be correct to say you don’t particularly care about stepping on my toes?”
Harry stares at him blankly for a moment before he feels a reluctant smile appear on his face. “It might be the one redeeming part of this.”
“The only one?” Tom says archly, pulling him into the correct hold. And, without giving Harry a chance to breathe or think, they’re off in what Harry thinks might be a waltz.
"That was quite the risk you took," Harry says, trying not to stare at his feet and hoping for the best as Tom spins him around the room. He is, oddly enough, a much better dancer when he’s not constantly concerned about crushing someone's foot.
"Was it?"
"Yes. What made you think I wouldn't refuse and let you look foolish?"
He catches sight of a pleased grin on Tom's face from the corner of his eye. "The same thing that made me ask you to dance when I've seen your previous forays. You rise to the occasion when I push you.” He looks at Harry, for a moment, proudly. “I also knew you’d be more than amenable to anything that got you away from those two.”
Harry can’t deny that.
“Now look sharp, and do try to keep up,” Tom says, the hand at Harry’s lower back gripping him a little tighter.
“Wha–?”
And it’s all he can do not to trip over his feet and take them both down in a painful sprawl, but the rush, the heady triumph of making it through the successive, intricate turns, goes straight to his head. Before he can stop himself, Harry lets out a loud peal of laughter, further disrupting the couples around them and drawing sneers and disapproving glances. And he just doesn’t care. Not that he thinks he normally would’ve, but it feels like it’s been ages since he’s felt so light and happy. So, he doesn’t think about the people around him. He doesn’t think about how it’s Tom who’s making him feel this way. He just basks in the sun-warm feeling of contentment – of being okay for the first time in a while.

Unknown Village, Romania, Winter
Ginevra found herself facing the Lord who had proposed to purchase her from her now ex-fiancè, Elias, by offering twice the amount of her dowry. The Lord, Donna Beneviento, one of the Four Lords and false children of Mother Miranda, the proclaimed leader of their village.
Lady Beneviento was.. interesting in her own ways. Ginevra had heard rumors about the veiled woman. How she killed her older sister for the title, how she was the cause of her parent's death. Lady Beneviento, she can make anyone see things so dark, so.. disturbing that the victims would succumb to their own demise.
Rumors suggest that her playmates never make it out of her estate alive.
Ginevra could just run away, however she has no choice. In this village, to defy one of the Four Lords would mean punishment and death.

Among them is Draco Malfoy, a striking yet brooding presence whose silver eyes seem to see straight through her. But Draco harbors his own secret: he's not just a wizard, but a vampire.
Rather than flee from this revelation, Hermione is drawn deeper into a dangerous, otherworldly romance with her immortal soulmate, risking far more than just her heart in the process.

who: @norbiegrafton where: on the road back to the vale from the westerlands
With a wince, Ginny shifted in her saddle. The procession was slowing a bit after hours of travel, and the shift in tempo had broken up the previously held formation the slightest bit. Just a little ahead, she spotted a rather familiar figure. Despite her sore muscles, Ginevra spurred her horse on until she could reach Lord Grafton. "It's a beautiful day," she began, offering Norbie a wide smile , "but I do regret not choosing the carriage. At least a little bit. How are you faring?"

Royalty! AU
Somewhere in the kingdom of Gryffindor, prince Harry had just welcomed the guests of some of the most respectable families around for an important occasion. His birthday had just arrived, and he was of the most respectable age. 18.
He was meant to act of his age, but what would life be unless it wasn't a little thrilling? That was what a kind young girl had once taught him. She had the most luxurious head of red hair that fit her oh so perfectly. Her freckles only enhancing the beauty of her face and the darkness of her eyes.
She was a angel on earth. Her name? Miss Ginevra Weasley.
They had met at the early age of him 12 and she 11. Official anyway. They had crossed paths a few times, but had only officially met through their parents. She had been a huge change to his life since then on. And so was her family.
She had expected to arrive at 3:00pm at the latest, with the time being 2:41pm as of now. Then his long time friend, Draco Malfoy, was also set to arrive then.
They had met at the age of 11. They had been at each other's side ever since. Even though he and Ginevra had not seen eye to eye at times, they were still able to get along. Now, he would be able to see them again after 4 years since they last separated.
The red-haired angel and the blonde pointy noser Ponce. All together once more. He wondered if Heir Malfoy still had such a ridiculous hair style.
He chuckled at the thought of him being an exact replica of his own father. Uptight and pointy. Soon the long awaited carriages pulled up simultaneously, surprisingly enough.
First stepped out the glamorous Ginevra Weasley in a beautiful emerald green dress. It hung loosely on her shoulders but clung beautifully around her waist. She elegantly got out of the carriage but walked clumsily toward Harry due to the height of the dress.
It was rather amusing.
"Harry!! Nice to see you! Happy Birthday." She gave her greeting as she hug him. Harry thanked her in return before getting a whiff of lavender. It was calming until her relatives rushed by with hurried greeting and a few back pats.
They really are an interesting bunch.
Then came a glamorous silver carriage with a beautiful engraved M in the middle. No doubt who this belonged to. Lady Malfoy and Lord Malfoy stepped out first, before walking toward them arm in arm. They exchanged familiarities and well wishes before going inside.
Ginny and Harry stared at the open carriage in anticipation for the other guest of honor. But nothing. "Get out of there Malfoy, before I come myself!" Ginny warned, tired of his antics. She was met with an indecent gesture.
'Yep. He's in there.' Harry chuckled to himself.
Leaving Ginny irritated. She almost went over before he finally emerged. And he was one word, amazing.
His hair had grown a lot, which was why it was tied in a pristine ponytail. Did Harry send the wrong information, "Well if it isn't Weaslette and Scar head." He teased.
Now Harry knew that was him.
Draco hugged Ginny for a while before turning to Harry. He expected a hug as well but all he got was a smile and a pat on the back before Draco sauntered inside.
Harry didn't know if that was the same bratty Ponce he once knew when he saw how easily he went along with the guests. Shaking hands and conversing only to politely leave afterwards. This was just very confusing.
There was no way he could have gone from pointy nosed git to angelic faced royalty. It made absolutely no sense. When Ginny patter him on the shoulder that was how he snapped out of his stupor.
"You good? You seem...frustrated." She showed concern as she patted down his collar. Harry merely said he was fine, so she let him be. This is what he liked about her the most. She was understanding.
They finally made their way inside. Ginny left to meet some of her friends that came, leaving Harry to his own devices. He scanned the crowd in content. Happy with how everyone was so happy and relaxed. A good way to spend the day. His mother along with Miss Weasley and Lady Malfoy were by the tea table chatting, while the father's were by the champagne tower.
It was going splendidly, "Enjoying your party?" He heard a whisper beside him. Only to turn and see Draco with a glass of champagne.
"Yeah, it's quite nice." Harry replied, only to receive a small hum from Draco as he slipped on his champagne. They stood there for a while before Draco broke the silence.
"So how is 'The Wooing Of Miss Ginevra' going?" Harry grimaced at the words that left Draco's lips. He and Draco had made this whole plan for Harry to get into Ginny's good graces. And now that he looked back it was quite embarrassing.
"You still remember that? It was a bit childish now that I look back at it." He answered without missing a beat. He was not going to let Draco win this silent game they had going on. After that, they went back into silence.
A few people approached them for a little conversation, to which they both complied with. Overall the party was getting quite full. And Ginny had yet to appear, so they had no idea what was to be done now.
Draco put his glass down on a nearby table, "Let's get some air, you look like you could fall any second from boredom." Before Harry could protest, he grabbed him by the arm before pulling him away toward the fields.
They had passed by Ginny heading the opposite way, so naturally Draco pulled her along as well.
"Slow down!! I can barely run in these death traps." She bellowed, gesturing to the tight restrictions of her black flats. They had quickly arrived at a big oak tree in the middle of the pastures. It was obvious great memories lay there.
Draco nudged Harry, "Put your coat down for the lady to sit. Who taught you manners." He pulled the coat off of Harry and lay it down on the grass for Ginny to sit. Who just giggled and went along with it.
Harry crossed his arms and pouted, "Seriously?"
"Stop whining. It is your duty to tend to the guests." Draco waddled a finger at him like a nagging mother before taking a seat beside Ginny. He put his head on her shoulder before engaging in a conversation with her.
Harry just watched, irritated. They just laughed casually when necessary, not once added Harry. He knew this was bound to happen, but he let it happen.
When he looked back at them, green met silver and Harry was officially in trouble.

Closed starter for @dctyandhonor Setting: A few days before guests arrive for the hunting expedition hosted by Percy in Ninestars, he has an important chat with his sister.
“Are you ready for the arrival of our guests, sister?” the Knight of Ninestars asked as he strolled into the drawing room where his sister was. With a quick, silent nod, he dismissed the guard who was by the door and the servant girl who had been serving tea to Ginny. The door was closed as they retired, leaving the Templeton siblings to their privacy.
Tumblr media
“You know why I'm hosting this hunting trip, yes?” he asked without beating around the bush. It was more a statement than a question, really. It was all about connections, alliances, benefit, and he was certain his sister was aware of that. They usually were of the same mind when it came to matters of that nature, and the ambitious they had to keep bettering their house's standing. “We'll have lords come from various regions, Gin. Pay attention to them. Use your charm and talk to them,” he added as he sat down across from her. “It's likely your future husband will be among that group”.
She was ready to become a ruling lady, and it was time for them to actively look for a good match for her. Their sister Elinor had done well enough with her Seaworth lord. Ginevra had the potential to do much, much better.

@hinnymicrofic Day 25: Letter
Lady Ginevra Weasley would absolutely say that the so-called Lady Whistledown’s letters to the newspapers were the highlights of the week.
Of course, being part of the ton meant she had a grand total of nothing to do except entertain suitors and gossip, which meant the letters didn’t have much competition.
Or any. Because there was only one suitor she was really interested in, and he, on account of being best friends with her brother Ron, was reluctant to publicly court her or make promises.
Still. Lord Harry Potter was an honourable man. He wouldn’t act as he did with her, wouldn’t look at her the way he did, if he didn’t have any intentions to marry her.
She smiled a delightfully secret smile as she twirled one of the flowers he’d given her the last time they’d met. His friend Lord Neville Longbottom, who dabbled in botany, had made up the bouquet, he’d admitted. But he’d laughed and refused to explain the meaning of the flowers saying she ought to find out on her own.
He’d blushed and not met her eyes, so she’d spent the rest of the short meeting teasing him.
She wished they could court in the open, but she understood Harry’s reluctance to upset Ron. Ever since his father had died and he’d had to leave the Crown’s army and take on the mantle of Viscount, he’d become more serious. He smiled deeper and far less often. He held tight to his relationships: his godfather, the Duke of Blackmoor Lord Sirius Black, her family, Lord Neville Longbottom, Mister Seamus Finnigan, Lady Luna Lovegood, and Sir Cedric Diggory.
Still. She couldn’t help hoping that maybe someday. . . He had to, right?
“Ginny,” Fred – or was it George? – leaned in through the door. “I’d stay out of Mum’s way. She’s in a right state after the latest Whistledown.” He frowned as he caught sight of what she was doing. “Is that a honeysuckle? Who gave you that? Did someone propose?”
Generous and devoted affection. That was what honeysuckle meant.
There were far more daring flowers in the bouquet, but the meaning of this was as beautiful as the flower itself, which was why Ginny didn’t want to leave it anywhere. She hurriedly let it drop now though. Harry would never forgive her if she let on to their. . . She wasn’t sure what to call it.
“Of course nobody proposed,” she rolled her eyes. “I’d have to tell you lot and hear Percy’s very verbose lectures on how to choose a spouse and financial matters then.”
Ever since her brother had gotten engaged to Audrey he’d been absolutely unbearable.
“That’s fair,” he agreed. “Though I am curious to know how you would prevent somebody proposing to stop the ramifications from happening.”
Ginny got up and thanked God that her receiving time was done because her mother would no doubt shriek about the creases in her dress from the way she was sitting. “Why, act like a total shrew, of course.”
“Lady Ginevra Weasley,” her brother mocked.
“Don’t call me that,” Ginny chided.
“Where on earth did you learn such language?” He finished. “Still, it’s good to know at least one member of the family won’t spring a surprise engagement on us.”
“Percy was just one, you know—” she laughed, but he cut her off.
“Not Percy. Another. Go take a look at Whistledown, and you’ll learn why Mum’s going crazy. She’s badgering Ron for details right now.”
“Ron’s engaged?!” She exclaimed, delighted and heartbroken and scandalized all at once. “I thought he was head-over-heels for Miss Hermione!”
Miss Hermione was Victoire and Dominique and Harry’s godson Teddy’s governess. She was amazing and below them in class and still utterly out of Ron’s league.
Fred’s laugh was the only response as he left. Cursing her brother under her breath (she could just imagine her mother’s admonition), she picked up her skirts and followed the noises of shrieking.
Mum was fanning herself, besieging Ron – who was red in face – with questions. “Has he ever mentioned this girl to you? When did he propose? How long have they been courting? Why the sudden—”
“Who’s engaged?” Ginny asked.
“Oh, Ginny!” Her mum screamed. “He didn’t even tell us anything! Why didn’t he?”
Impatiently, she took out the held out newspaper.
Dearest gentle reader, started Lady Whistledown’s letter.
Under it was a photo of Harry and a lovely black-haired girl with Asian features.
She was wearing Lily Evans Potter’s engagement ring – something which Harry had once told her he would only give to someone he loved as much as his parents had loved one another. He’d been looking at her as he said it.
Viscount Harry Potter, Heir to the Duke of Blackmoor Proposes to Lady Cho Chang! Screamed the headline.
And Ginny’s heart shattered.

Vitae Redux / Book 1: Horcruxes
Chapter 23
“You saved her!” Mrs Weasley cried, and Tom felt the warmth of her tears sinking into his hair, just as Harry’s had fallen against his face in the Chamber. “You saved her! How did you do it?”
“I think, Molly,” Snape said flatly, “that we would all like the answer to that.”
Mrs Weasley finally – finally – released them, and Dumbledore conjured a comfortable sofa for the Tom, Harry, and Ginny to sit upon while Mr and Mrs Weasley took their seats in the hard-backed chairs in front of Snape’s desk. Ginny attached herself to Harry’s side as they sat, but Tom still found he didn’t mind, Harry’s hand warm and vibrant in his own.
“It was Tom,” Harry finally said. “Well, it was all of us really – Ron, Hermione – Draco and Pansy – we had a general idea of where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets might be, but in the end, it was Tom who found it.”
Harry launched into the story, Tom helping him at times, explaining how the attacks seemed to centre around that one corridor, the days and weeks spent combing through every room only to come up empty handed, those final moments when Tom had revealed he had found the entrance. Tom took over then, crafting a story about returning to the hunt not long after Hermione had been petrified, searching every inch of the bathroom until he finally found the spot that concealed the entryway. He even looked Dumbledore dead in the eye, keeping his memories shallow, as he described the feeling of unease he had felt upon McGonagall’s announcement, the urgency he had experienced to rescue Ginny Weasley from the Chamber. By the gentle smile and open gaze Dumbledore gave him, he knew his Occlusion had worked – the old man had entirely missed his terror at the possible resurrection of Lord Voldemort, seeing only a child who wanted, desperately, to keep his classmates safe.
And maybe – just maybe – there was a kernel of truth to that fabrication.
“This is all very fine and well,” Snape said, when Tom had finished, “aside from the fact that the two of you – the six of you, rather – have broken dozens of school rules: breaking into empty classrooms, boys in the girls’ bathroom, leaving your dormitories during a school-wide emergency. However, you have yet to explain exactly who abducted Ginevra Weasley, not to mention how it is you managed to survive.”
Tom hesitated – he had expected this was going to come up. He reluctantly pulled his diary from his pocket and placed it on Snape’s desk, from where Dumbledore gingerly picked it up and flipped open the front cover, examining the first few pages.
“Tom,” he said, after several long moments, “I have told the Weasleys that you are as in grave danger as Harry when it comes to Voldemort, but as I believe it is generally at your discretion to reveal, I have not explained why. Do you mind if they are told what exactly has happened to their daughter?”
“No,” Tom replied, the bitterness at having to reveal one of his Horcruxes fading somewhat at Dumbledore’s earnest tone. It was mildly infuriating, however – Dumbledore had never afforded him such clemency in his previous life. “That diary belonged to my father,” he said slowly. “He apparently managed to preserve a memory of himself inside of it.”
“A memory strong enough to possess Miss Weasley, to drive her to open the Chamber of Secrets and set loose the monster within it.” Mrs Weasley gasped in fear at Dumbledore’s words. “The memory of Tom Riddle – the first, that is – a brilliant student, probably the most brilliant Hogwarts has ever seen, save for his son, I think.” Tom tried not to scowl as Dumbledore looked down at him with a glimmer in his eye. “There are very few now who remember the boy he was before leaving Hogwarts. There are even fewer who connect him to the man he became – Lord Voldemort.”
“But – but Ginny – how?!” Mr Weasley sputtered.
Beside Tom, beside Harry, Ginny began to sob anew. “His d-diary! I’ve b-been writing in it, and he’s been w-writing back all year – I didn’t know. He t-told me he was just like a talking portrait!”
“Ginny!” Mr Weasley said. “Haven’t I always told you? Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain? Why didn’t you –”
Dumbledore raised his hand.
“Arthur, if you will, I would ask you not to ascribe any blame to your daughter,” he said calmly. “After all, she has grown up with portraits, mirrors, and other talking objects that would otherwise be inanimate. And, as we all know, far older and wiser wizards have been swayed by Lord Voldemort.” Dumbledore paused. “Now as to what happened in the Chamber…”
“Voldemort came out of the diary,” Harry cut in. “Honestly, I thought it was Tom still talking to me at first – but he was older… and he was cruel. He was trying to use Ginny’s soul to come back to life, and I think he would’ve succeeded if I hadn’t gotten her out of the Chamber.”
Tom’s heart stuttered at Dumbledore’s sharp intake of breath. “Harry,” he said quietly, “do you mean to say that Voldemort managed to obtain a corporeal form?”
“Corporeal?” Harry echoed.
“He means ‘solid,’” Tom explained, squeezing his hand. Harry gave him an odd, searching look.

For me is fun to see the difference from italian fandom and international fandom.
First of all: there are no purity culture in italian fandom. We ship and we write anything, and I mean anything. Of course we have our own archive that has rules, so there are some limits, but with the rise of AO3 we all are more free. And of course I can only tell about my little bubble and my little experience, but... We create the repayement ship, for god's sake, my beloved OTP Severus Snape/Lily Luna Potter. In the international fandom I would be eaten (and in fact I had experience with haters that called me pedo because of it right here on tumblr and that was so fun to me!). Also other ships I read and go strong in my bubble that can be classified ad "problematic": Salazar Slytherin/Helena Rawenclaw, Albus Dumbledore/Tom Riddle, Gellert Grindelwald/Ariana Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald/Tom Riddle, Tom Riddle/Helena Rawenclaw-The Gray Lady (maybe we invented even this ship, my friend start posting about them and it was so good so much other italian fanwriter writed about them), Sirius Black/Hermione Granger, Sirius Black/Ginevra Weasley, Severus Snape/Ginevra Weasley (I skip about Snamione etc you all knew them), Teddy Lupin/Rose Weasley, James Sirius Potter/Rose Weasley, Harry Potter/Rose Weasley and maybe I forgot something 🤔 That are all ships I wrote about (and praised for) and NO ONE bat an eye for the TW implied in them. I read so much beautiful stories about this ships, you have no idea.
Also in the specific of the Marauders fandom and the Slytherin, the italian fandom is so far away from international fandom that I lost myself some times trying to keep track of the characters (wtf is Lorenzo now??? I mean I barely understand who Mattheo Riddle is - and only because that one fanwriter I know who mostly wrote about the marauder era choose to write a story about him for fun; also I laugh because in italian the correct name spelling is Matteo). And maybe I was fixed on the fic that my friend write because now I can ship only Regulus/Barty (and Regulus/Barty/Alex where Alex is an OC 😂); also no Pandora in Slytherin, no black Mary-Dorcas (not sure who is black here), no Bruce Mulciber (??? Also not black Mulciber) and in general always a different setting. There is no "standard" in the italian marauders era, everyone write his own character and put them all in different houses and give them different ages (for example I read quite some stories where Dorcas Meadowes is older or much older then James&co). And NO JEGULUS AT ALL. Everyone in Italy seems to hate Jegulus (at least in my bubble). Unfortunately some quite like wolfstar but... It is one of the older ships, not something born now like Jegulus. And also no Mary/Lily, Dorcas/the other one girl I don't remember, etc etc... But the most important thing DEATH EATHER STAY DEATH EATER SO NOBODY WANTS TO HAVE TO INTERACT WITH THEM. I read beautiful stories from DE pov and they stay in the DE side of the war. The author try to make you emphatize with them (so no justify their action because they think that they are right and you can feel that - and this is great writing you all, not a propaganda for the bad side nor pronazi or other garbage shits I read from the anti and the international fandom about this) but no one is redeemed or fall in love with the light or other bullshit. Lord, even the death of Regulus has more sense in the fic I read instead of the bullshit "He change side because he love his House Elf so he is good!!!" that I read here.
Okay this became a wall of text so I stop here BUT if you are biligual/etc can you share your experience about the difference from your homecountry fandom and the international one? I'm curios 😂
