who: @norbiegrafton where: on the road back to the vale from the westerlands
With a wince, Ginny shifted in her saddle. The procession was slowing a bit after hours of travel, and the shift in tempo had broken up the previously held formation the slightest bit. Just a little ahead, she spotted a rather familiar figure. Despite her sore muscles, Ginevra spurred her horse on until she could reach Lord Grafton. "It's a beautiful day," she began, offering Norbie a wide smile , "but I do regret not choosing the carriage. At least a little bit. How are you faring?"

Last night we had a family dinner in Tampa ! It’s always so nice to have a night off to rest, recoup, and relax during tour ! Tour time can be very stressful with long days of driving and then performing, so having time to just be people out to dinner is crucial!
We went to Columbia Restaurant that has been here in Tampa since 1905! We had a lovely time and now it’s time to get back to work! We are live tonight at the Tampa Theatre and then on to finish out this tour in Ft. Lauderdale, Ponte Vedre, and Atlanta!

in my euphoria of realizing carlos was a socal local i forgot what that meant for subtle nuances of his character. for example, i just had the most miserable drive of my life thru pomona and i think unless you experience what the la transit authority expects you to learn to tolerate there's no way for you to grasp how truly fucked the road systems are there. like socal in general has notoriously bad roads and aggressive drivers that consider the speed limit the minimum and weave in and out of traffic like fish. im born and raised IE and when i was asked to drive in small, rural towns in hawai'i i was going fucking nuts. i can only imagine what carlos had to deal with, learning not only the truly mind boggling ways night vale has their roads set up on top of having to actually drive slow

List of Upcoming Fiction Podcasts and Hidden Gems
'either' by Open Doors, Closed Doors: quirky and enthusiastic, I'm a big fan of the art made for the cover of each episode. Started in May, if you like unique worlds like Nightvale, you might like this.
'Road X' by Gea Arce and Maya Appavoo: A supernatural murder mystery with a fun cast of characters, I've been following the development of this since they released their first episode in March. The cast seem very lovely and they're very appreciative of fanart over on the gram! I think it's cool that they have a tarot card aesthetic going on aswell. Check it out!
'Smile Grove' by ISOTOPIC PRODUCTIONS: A horror podcast that explores mental health and the industry surrounding it. The lack of actually helpful resources for those in need is probably the horror itself (but you didn't hear that from me!) Focuses on unique characters and some dark themes. Following the development and growth of this podcast was such a treat, it's obvious how much effort the creator has put in based on our chats. Also features some familiar voices if you've listened to Camp Here & There!
'THE NOWHERE MALL' by haunted casette: a horror-comedy about the daily lives of cryptids described as humans. Someone linked this in a server and its first episode was released this June! I hear auditions are still open. It seems to be coming along well so check it out if you want to follow their progress.
'Seven of Hearts' by Seventh Knight Productions: a podcast that follows seven characters in a mysterious town. A little older (not really, like 2021) and the story is wrapped up but I was lucky to follow the production and episode releases sometimes! This one is sometimes reccommended to fans of Camp Here & There, I think you'll like it.
'Francis Forever' by Leo Zahn: Hidden gem by my mutual that follows Francis Webb and their desire for immortality. A mystery adventure podcast that explores life, death, and the everything yet nothing inbetween. Leo also works wonders with sound design and it's fun to yap our ideas towards each other.
'SUPERSUITS' by Faustian Nonsense: I recognise this as the podcast that would play before Jack of All Trades (which is also very good). It's a comedy podcast about the shenanigans that lawyers endure being lawyers for super heroes and villains. Released around February and is looking pretty good!
'The Department of Variance of Somewhere, Ohio' by Rat Grimes: A sci-fi horror about a secret government group that handles supernatural entities, which suffers a containment breach. We follow two employees who try to escape the chaos and calamity, Scarlet Jaunt and Jasmine Control. The building moves, the voices are cool, and theres creatures. Cool stuff!

alien roadtrip v vr46 roadtrip is hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby actually. Also if they happened in parallel it would be the funniest thing the vr46 gang would want to do a better roadtrip out of spite against Valentino who instead of hanging out with them is fucking around with all of his former enemies + one Dani Pedrosa. Aliens roadtrip is dramatic Finding Ur True Self™️ and then the academy boys are like. Fighting for their life but in different ways (the most cartoonishly gone wrong road trip ever. Marco is driving cele is shotgun and pecco and Luca are in the back providing conflicting instructions as backseat drivers. )
nothing to add to this perfect post just know that pecco and luca being the type of couple to argue over directions is SO REAL.

Donington Park 2008: When Casey Stoner was signed by Ducati for 2007, he was on a one year contract and intensely aware that he was not Ducati's first choice for the seat. While his talent had already been apparent in the lower classes, his initially promising rookie season had been tarnished by his frequent crashes (bagging him the nickname 'Rolling Stoner'), and he also had acquired a reputation for being difficult to work with. Ducati's first choice was not available until 2008 - the expectation was that Stoner might well be axed once Marco Melandri was signed to the team. Nobody expected Stoner to clinch his first premier class victory in the opening race of the season; he was not even expected to be a title contender, let alone dominate the class as he went on to do. Ducati had responded best to the introduction of the 800cc regulations, building a capricious bike that in the right hands would prove to be blindingly quick - while also benefiting from the supposed performance advantage provided by the Bridgestone tyres at most circuits of the calendar. They were responsible for the bike... but it was pure dumb luck that led to them hiring the one rider capable of riding it to such heights. Stoner stormed to the title well clear of his championship rivals, capable of both unassailable dominance of races from start to finish and triumphing in all-out wheel-to-wheel battles. He memorably defeated Valentino Rossi in duels in both Qatar and Catalunya, proving himself immune to the sort of pressure Rossi's past rivals had proven so susceptible to. As for his other rival, Dani Pedrosa, who had beaten Stoner to the 2005 250cc title - he was supposed to be the main young challenger to Rossi's throne until Stoner wrenched that role away from him.
Stoner went into 2008 as the clear favourite to defend his title. He was dismissive of Rossi's choice to switch to the Bridgestone tyres, believing he had not gotten the credit he deserved for his title amongst all this talk of straight line speed and tyre advantages. His title defence got off to the perfect start with another victory at Qatar... but life quickly got more difficult for the defending champion from there. His race at Jerez was messy, with multiple dramatic off-track excursions - and his Estoril experience was tough enough even before a loose Dorna-provided camera began swinging off his bike. By the time he got to Shanghai, he was increasingly vocal and irate in his frustrations with Ducati, who he felt had approached the season with too much complacency. Stoner was in no way mollified by the third place he secured at that race, telling a reporter in parc fermé that "a podium this far off is just about not worth it". With a crisis meeting of sorts within Ducati as everyone involved aired their grievances, Stoner's season was going to need some serious transformation to put him back in championship contention. Shanghai was followed by a horrendous race in Le Mans, but there were already some more positive noises from inside Ducati - and their home race of Mugello proved a happier hunting ground, with a second place secured in a tight fight against Pedrosa. Catalunya brought another podium as Stoner repeated his duel with Rossi of the year before, this time having to narrowly concede defeat and settle for third.
More important than the podium, however, was the post-race test, with Stoner immediately confident that the team had finally gotten on top of their struggles that season (primarily with the electronics). He carried that confidence into the pre-event press conference at Donington and confirmed just how justified it was by dominating the practise sessions. Rossi's front row grid position led to some hope there might be a fight for the victory, but Stoner had no interest in hanging around at the start of the race. As Rossi attempted to hunt him down, he found himself in Stoner's position of the previous race - being waylaid by enthusiastic rookie Andrea Dovizioso, who once again had managed to embroil the second place runner in a fight that allowed the leader to escape out front. Once Rossi had freed himself of Dovizioso, he had the fast-charging Pedrosa to deal with. With Stoner's lead increasingly unassailable, it was now Rossi and Pedrosa's turn to hash it out for second place - with Rossi prevailing ahead of Pedrosa in third, both far adrift of Stoner's dominant display. Stoner was not a popular winner with the British crowd, which had taken a disliking to him the year before and to Stoner's considerable irritation expressed that hostility all weekend. Regardless, Stoner moved up to third place in the championship standings ahead of Jorge Lorenzo, taking his first victory since the opening round and reestablishing himself as a title threat. It signalled a return to the form that had proved so very ominous for rivals the year before - who had good reason to be worried that once Stoner started winning, he simply would not stop.

I find it interesting that the university of what it is explained away Night Vale’s unreachable-ness because it could mean 1) the town is now completely blocked off and people can’t accidentally find it and the scientists inadvertently locked themselves inside it (and the only people who can get in are the people from Desert Bluffs 2 hmmmmmm) or 2) Even though the road doesn’t connect to anything entry is actually possible (and like, it shows up on maps and outside surveillance and shit) and more normal can start pouring in, and Lubelle has someone to explain the weirdness TO other than the Night Vale citizens who don’t want to hear it. And, I don’t think that bodes well for the current battle of “unexplainable versus normalcy” that’s waging.
I find both options intriguing, concerning, and Im not sure the U of What is Is Thought about repercussions of it.

There once was a kid who saw all the cruelty and unfairness of the world. They prayed to the stars above and were granted just one wish, and so, the process named "metamorphosis" came to be. Every once in a while a person bearing the blessings of the sky itself is born to live their life for refinement of the human race. But what is it to Chanel and Vlas – best friends stuck together in an old car "Vlada", driving across the surreal lands of Russia?
"Road to Moscow" is a narrative podcast featuring an all-queer cast (playing all-queer characters), exploring our own cultural identities and folklore through the means of storytelling. Feeling wanderlust yet? Then get in and fasten your seat belt!

[A lineless digital illustration. A pinkish-purple car makes its way towards the viewer, and behind it there's a white crescent moon, the empty space within it filled with yellow stars scattered over a dark violet to periwinkle gradient. One of the car's headlamps emits a stylized, elongated beam of warm yellow light. Above it, seemingly coming out from behind the moon, there's a similar beam, this one in a warm orange to pink gradient. There's a text in large, rounded maroon letters over the two beams that reads "Road to Moscow". The background is a solid dark blue.]
