Her entire body ached. She could feel a twinge from her protesting muscles, every time she shifted in the chair. Lillian had managed to slip out of the bonds that kept her hands tied, and was now working on removing the ones wrapping her boots to the legs of the chair. Glancing around, she spotted some of her fellow cadets, riders that were in her Tail section, as well as members of other sections. Counting quickly, Lillian roughly estimated there were about 10 to 13 riders in total, all tied to chairs, and all with varying bruises and injuries on them.

Fuck. Shit, ok, yeah. Escape… I can do that.

Lillian cut the bond off, glancing around the room again. “Has anyone else managed to escape their bonds?” She whispered, blinking quickly so that her eyes could adjust to the darkness. “If not, I’ll make my way through the room clock-wise. We need to get out of here.”

About five of the riders showed they had freed themselves from the bonds, but the rest were either half-way done, exhausted or unconscious.

Though Lillian was beginning to create a plan, it hinged on the fact that everyone was free and awake. Those that were unconscious were going to have to be woken up, lest they become an unnecessary burden during the escape.

“Everyone pair up. If you don’t have a partner, come to me.” Lillian ordered quietly, then began to slowly make her way to the unconscious riders. Shaking them awake one by one, she repeated her orders of escaping and pairing up. Soon, the riders were paired up, and ready to go. “Ok, good. Now to open this—“

Before she could finish, the door was suddenly slammed open and riders dressed in all black walked in. Commander Panchek entered behind them. Glancing around the room, he noted Lillian’s stance in front of all the other riders, as if she could protect them from whatever was about to happen next. “Good, you’ve all managed to escape your bonds. Section Leader Essan, I must say I’m impressed. You’ve managed to create a functioning group of riders, despite the circumstances. An exemplary show of leadership.” With a wave of his hand, the entire group of second-year cadets was dismissed. Filing out of the room, they slowly trudged towards the Healer’s Quadrant, with Lillian leading the way.

Once they entered, a swarm of healers came towards them, muttering and swearing as they took note of all the injuries. Lillian was led to a bed, where she was then examined within an inch of her life. Halfway through the exam, Bodhi had come to see her, concern visibly etched on his face.

“Are you alright?” He murmured, gently reaching out to tuck a strand of hair behind her ear. “Gods, I can’t believe they’re allowed to do this. I’m gonna fucking kill Xaden for not warning us about this.” He swore, when the healer began to read out the list of injuries Lillian had sustained. The blonde simply sat on the bed, nodding along, exhausted from the day’s events. All she wanted to do was sleep, and Bodhi’s shoulder was just so comfortable…

Bodhi glanced briefly to Lillian, noting how her eyes kept fluttering shut as she leaned on his shoulder. He nodded at the healer’s instructions of absolute bed rest, and placed the multitude of salves and creams Lillian would have to use, on the bed table. Mumbling a quick ‘thank you’ to the healer, he gently moved the girl’s head, laying her down on the bed and tucking her in.

Ayy for those of you who remember my initial post about the RGU-themed Picrew project, I finally have some kind of update!

I have traced/redrawn just about every hairstyle in RGU itself BUT what I really need is input on the additional hairstyles I've added. I wanted to be sure to add a few options for kinky hair, undercuts, and a couple other styles that I personally associate with the 90s <3 I tried to keep them stylistically similar to RGU so I hope that reads. Just in throwing these together I could see some looked a bit off and needed editing so gimme your thoughts pleaseeee! I'll attach 10 different hair examples, each with a combo of bangs, fwips, backs, or ponytail options which would, in the picrew, all be separate. So take into account that you could switch things around a bit too.

I also randomized the body type, eyes, mouth, and eyebrows to give y'all a little sneak peak at those too :3 If you have any specific requests for a face/emotion speak now or forever hold ur peace

Ok, so i’m working on playlists for both Luke castellan and Percy jackson and there is one common thing between the two i am going to rant about.

For the purposes of this rant i will be using 2 different songs as examples-

Percy- in case i ain’t around by Luke combs (fathers and sons album)

Luke- all i ever do is leave by Luke combs (father and sons album)

This is mainly because i noticed this while looking for pjo characters as country songs (i swear i will make the post at some point)

While there are other examples i could make using similar songs, Luke combs holds a special place in my heart.

What i want to talk about is more similarities between Percy and Luke by using music.

Both of the aforementioned songs are from the same album but fit two different but also very alike characters.

Lets start with Percy-

in case i ain’t around by Luke combs is a song about preparing for the future, a future that he may not even be apart of. Lyrics such as, “i ain’t goin’ nowhere no time soon but…” “that way i’m still there for you somehow, in case i ain’t around” and one more, “when it’s my time to die, boy don’t stop livin’”

Percy has accepted that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, and he’s made preparations just in case. He has watched friends who have had bright futures, die in an instant. While Percy doesn’t plan on dying anytime soon, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Now Luke (this explanation is much longer lmao)-

All i ever do is leave by Luke combs starts with Luke talking about growing up not having a very present father in his life. with lyrics such as (at the very beginning) “me and myself tryin’ play catch, cause daddy ain’t home yet” and “mama said “you pray, cause your daddy gonna be late”. while hermes’ is never there for Luke (castellan, duh) he canonically helped his kids parents out, just not physically, which links in the line “but the lights stayed on somehow”.

Now, let’s get to the actual point. the song starts with Luke (combs) talking about how in his eyes, all his dad ever did was leave. but towards the end of the song he’s talking about how he hopes his kid doesn’t view him like that (i hope he don’t think all i ever do is leave).

Ok, so, how does this relate to Luke castellan?

yes hermes’ leaves him, but we are gonna talk about May castellan right now. while May castellan didn’t physically leave Luke, she mentally did. In an attempt to get closer to her son she was cursed to be farther away. she’s mentally gone. Yes, Luke physically leaves her, but she was already gone.

Now, let’s go to the second part of the song.

Luke (castellan) actually leaving.

this one’s a bit more obvious but i’ll still bring it up. Luke leaves Annabeth and many others on multiple occasions. he leaves camp during book one, and dies in book five and many more times in between. He just kept leaving them, again and again. He leaves his family, both in Annabeth and in the hermes’ cabin.

Now to the actual point of this post….

The main thing i’ve realised with Luke and Percy is that more often than not, i’m finding songs in the same album that fit them separately. The songs are similar but have different meanings. Luke and Percy are very similar and even coming to something as simple as songs, you can’t exactly have one without the other.
