You can interact with both Error and Blue in different ways, and they can chat with both you and each other!


It also looks like Error’s brought a few of his puppets to show you! —-If you prove yourself to him, that is.


he can be a bit prickly but maybe eventually he’ll warm up to you?

The Castoria Ukagaka is OUT!

Artoria Caster (Castoria for short) from popular video game Fate/Grand Order is here and ready to mingle on your desktop! Written by @versegm, coded & drawn by @characteroulette, she can do many things such as

Look pretty

Make conversation

Get pet

Change into no less than three (3!) different shells, each of which featuring a removable hat

Empty your bin and check your calendar, if you really want her to do something useful.

CONTENT WARNINGS:

Chronologically, Castoria hails from the aftermath of her adventure. Meaning she is dead. She does occasionally mentions her death and its circumstances, albeit in vague terms.

While Castoria mostly acts kind and helpful, she does occasionally get really bitter and vitriolic. This will never be targeted towards you as a user, but I figure this warrants a warning regardless.

She has one whole line about petplay.

What's an Ukagaka/How do I get the desktop Castoria?

An Ukagaka/Ghost is a computer widget that hangs around desktop. It can do a variety of things (empty your bin, check your calendar, set you reminders, ect) though in Castoria's specific case this is really just "what if blorbo could hang around with you and randomly chat you up." It's a bit like a shimeji, if you've heard of those.

Follow this very simple tutorial and you, too, will get to have the funny Castoria on your desktop! (And perhaps, many other ghosts! We did a Herlock Sholmes a few years back :)

Step 1: Get SSP

SSP is the software that allows ukagakas to run. You can get it here. Yes, the website is in full japanese, but fearen't! I screenshotted the download button you need.

Step 2: Get the .nar file of the ukagaka you want

Some ukagakas have multiple .nar files (Castoria has two for instance), just get all of these bad bitches :]

Step 3: Launch SSP

You should get good ol Emily popped on your desktop!

Step 4:

Drag your .nar files on emily! A pop-up will ask you if you want to install the ghost, and you shall say yes!

Step 4.5:

If the previous doesn't work, you can unzip the .nar files in the ghost folder in SSP, next to Emily's folder.

Step 5:

Right click + change ghost + Artoria Caster

And you should be good!

Ghost Jam 2024 results

The results of Ghost Jam 2024 are here!

This year we had a total of 24 ghosts submitted, by 36 participants! The number of overall ghosts continues to hold steady, while the number of people joining the event has increased!

Of the submitted ghosts, 5 completed the 72 Hour challenge (with multiple ghosts being submitted a day or more before the 72 hour deadline!), 10 completed the Add an Extra challenge, and 12 completed the New Assets Only challenge. We saw many wonderful interpretations of the optional celestial theme, as well!

Once again, we've seen a huge variety in the styles of ghosts released, and many new and interesting angles explored! Please give every single one of them a try if you can, I promise it will be worth your time.

~ EVENT SPOTLIGHT : ECTOCOMP 2024 ~

La Petite Mort or Le Grand Guignol? Either way, it’s going to get spooky!

Ever since October 2007 spooky-game enthusiasts all over the world have a chance to participate in ECTOCOMP, an annual competition for interactive fiction celebrating the SPOOKY MONTH OF HALLOWEENTOBER. Whether you celebrate Halloween, Day of the Dead, All Saint's Eve, or just love ghost stories and creeping people out, this is your time to shine!

Previously organized by Jason Guest for ADRIFT games, the jam is now open to all development platforms. Since the beginning of this initiative, there has been a motivation to unite and strengthen ties between international communities in the IF world. Creators can submit games either in one of the four main languages - English, Spanish, French and German or any other!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Ghostbusters. Named after the Ghostbusters’ car license plate number ECTO 1, this year the jam pays tribute to the film that inspired the title! Some other subthemes and inspiration prompts are: Spooky adventure, Sweet supernatural, Halloween fest, Día de Los Muertos, All Saints', All Souls' Eve and any other festivity or mythology around the world.

As per tradition, Ectocomp has two categories:

La Petite Mort, for those who want to speed-write their game in 4 hours or less.

Le Grand Guignol, for games that, for whatever reason, took longer than 4 hours to write.

When the jam is over, all of the submitted games will be uploaded to the IF Archive.

It’s spooky month and with it comes the annual ECTOCOMP 2024. If it’s spooky or supernatural why not submit it?

Running until Halloween, the Phantasia Jam is a three months game jam to create a fantasy narrative game, with the theme of “Hidden Magic”. It accepts both VN and IF.

On the CoG Forum, Halloween is already there! Until Oct 31st, you can submit your projects to the Halloween Jam - but don't forget the theme! VAMPIRE, Murder, 70’s Disco!

Disabled Rep VN Jam has a very simple premise but a very important message.

Once upon a time, a game jam was held to create stories around the theme of fairy tales… and that game jam is the Once Upon A Time VN Jam. It’s running from October 1st to January 31st.

Concours de Fiction Interactive Francophone 2025 is for all French-speaking enthusiasts. Submissions are accepted until March 3rd 2025.

Are you perhaps a fan of more somber, melancholic themes? Then check out the Dying Year - Visual Novel Jam! You have until the end of the year to participate.

The Black Visual Novel Jam is all about working with creative professional developers who work in visual novels to bring more Black stories to life. The goal is to create a space where Black creators can show their unique storytelling through visual novels.

Bare your teeth and sharpen your claws because the Monstrous Desires 2024 Visual Novel Jam is here! Dedicated to the love of entities, horrors, and monstrosities, this jam will be full of romantic Visual Novels (VN) that heavily focus on a monster may it be original or from classics, folklore, modern media, etc.

The NCIS holiday party is torture.

Usually Nick likes a good social occasion but he’s one year sober and you're wearing that dress, the one that hugs your curves in all the right places. It drives him absolutely crazy because all he wants to do is get down on his knees and worship at your alter.

“Earth to Nick.” McGee clicks his fingers in front of his face and suddenly he’s back in a conversation about…

Nick has no fucking idea because his attention is immediately returning to you, to Dale Sawyer as he leans in close, tipping up your chin, looking into your eyes. His jaw clenches, his fist balling because Sawyer doesn’t get to touch you like that, no one does.

This is the problem with dating under the radar, people don’t know that you’re his. It frustrates him because all Nick wants to do is scream it to the goddamn world but you, you’re not ready yet. It’s different for women in law enforcement he knows, especially rising stars like you.

You disengage before he can make a scene, drawing away, leaving Sawyer hanging. Nick dogs your footsteps down the corridor, stalking you as you enter Ducky’s, leaving the lights off as you do. He’s follows you inside, closing the door behind him, turning the lock on the handle.

“You looked like you’re about to lose your shit.” You say conversationally, your fingertips smoothing over his chest through his Henley and Nick’s dark eyes meet yours, burning like coals.

“I don’t like other men touching you.” He rasps, his hands coming to rest on your hips, dragging you against him. “Especially him.”

There’s always been this feud between him and Sawyer. He’s the spry, new puppy, bright eyed, eager to please and Nick’s the old dog you can’t teach new tricks.

“Nick.” You sigh. “You don’t have to…”

But Nick doesn’t care for the chastisement, he just needs you to know who you belong to, when he’s in the room, when he’s not. His mouth covers yours and he drinks down your words like the finest of wines, savouring every drop. His hands thread through your hair as you yield to him, his tongue licking into your mouth, a filthy, unspoken promise of what’s to come. You moan under the onslaught, grinding against his muscular thigh as he jams it between your legs.

“That’s it baby.” He whispers against your lips, gathering your hair up in his fist and tugging it just right. “Ride it for me, soak my jeans.”

The noise you make, its though to drive a man to madness as your clit rubs against the rough denim, your wetness smearing across the fabric.

“I knew you weren’t wearing any panties.” He murmurs, his mouth ghosting over your jaw. “Were you hoping to get fucked tonight?”

You don’t answer, you can’t because his fingers are in your mouth, thrusting in and out the same way his dick did this morning before he fucked you in the shower. You start to moan around his digits, your movements becoming more stunted, more frantic.

“You’re going to come for me mi alma.” Nick tells you, his fingers slipping from your mouth before delving underneath your dress. “And I hope he fucking hears it.”

His fingertips tease over that pink rosebud, parting the delicate petals just before he dips inside you. He presses that delicious little sweet spot and that flower, it fucking blossoms. Your sweet honey drenches his hand as you bit down on his shirt, trying to stifle the sound of your ecstasy. Nick withdraws his fingers, pulling your head back with his fist as he smears that sweet nectar across your lips, watching as they glisten before he kisses you.

That taste, he can’t get enough if it. He fucking dreams about it on the nights he has to alone in his bed fucking his fist. He guides you back against the door before he falls to his knees in front of you, his palms guiding that dress over your hips.

“This time…” He murmurs, his gaze locked on yours as his thumb traces lightly over your clit. “This time I want to hear you to say my name when you come.”

I made a short visual novel in 7 days for Scream Jam 2024 on itch.io! It's my first jam and first game!

I'm so honored the game got 8th in best stories and was selected as one of the gHosts' choices!

Night Drive is around 10-15 mins long with multiple hand-drawn CGs and has 4 possible endings, currently. (There will be another chapter updated to the game in the future. I had the draft written but couldn't make it to the jam.)
