there's something about nickname drift that always gets me, so it starts like this:

steph call duke a pineapple one time, duke retaliates by calling her aubergine, then he calls her eggplant, then finally just "egg", steph calls him "pine" and eventually just starts calling him different tree varieties

this culminates with duke calling on the comms "this is tree boy paging egg" (babs, who hasn't run day shift comms for a fat second has to be like uhhh come again) this is their little inside joke when its just them and eventually when they run into each other at GothU

y'all stop saying fyodor has never looked so sincerely angry before. he has.

I know this because, and this is not an exaggeration, the vast majority of my manga revisits are to enjoy his expressions of anger, disdain, and malcontent. i shit you not, several of my bsd meta posts wholly unrelated to fyodor were written because I happened to notice something else while flipping through to imbibe fedya's hissy fits. I don't reread the manga when I do this, just those scenes, unless something else catches my attention.

The first From The Ashes, Infinity Comic storyline, "Eversong", has everything I could possibly want.

Evil telepathic villains who target my favorite character.

Jean Grey saving her damsel in distress husband (who gets a nice moment himself, when he figures out how to call for help.)

Some very nice gratuitous whump, which I have helpfully included as excerpt panels.

And of course, the fact that Scott Summers decides that the solution to his fear that his space goddess wife might someday forget him is to try to be the best service sub ever.

I just really dig it.

LEO: I think maybe Magnus was right about talking about the past… I’m not sure I’m ready to do that yet, but thinking about it and doing things that remind me of my old life, it feels like progress. prev ask (also about activities!)
