Dudes my two favorite tropes in a story’s gotta be:
The trope of the two main characters (being children) befriending just some random guy that we feel like could be a threat to them but is legit such a chill dude that helps them when he can makes me giggle. It’s cute, funny, and I love it.
A good example is Frank from Spooky Month, I love him because although he kidnaps other children he’s chill with Skid and Pump 💀
AND OF COURSE THE INFAMOUS ONE!! When the two children befriend a guy, that legit WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. Like, AT ALL. But you know he has a soft spot for them.
Another example is Porkrind from the Cuphead Show, he HATES them Cuphead and Mugman (specifically Mugman). BUT HE CARES, you know he does! Pointing at “Special Delivery” for this example!!

Been looking for my box of holiday earrings all fucking month and now that is it the night of the last day of Halloween I finally found them
