Hmm, thoughts, i have a lot of thoughts about Mamo, but at the same time, not as many as others would think.

I like him, i think most people who follow my blog know this. He’s a very nice addition to the cast despite his many.. problems.

I’ll first address the elephant in the room.. he should not be a part of the main cast fighting along the girls.

Sorry, I know some people love that for him, but for me it just doesn’t work and he doesn’t organically fit in the story after season 1. He’s basically stringed along to be just the damsel in destress to motivate Usagi in most cases and that’s not compelling for me or is a good turn for his character.(there’s nothing there, there’s no character for me to care about. Just pretty guy looks pretty, wow, I’m compelled)

He should’ve been mostly done after season 1. After that he should’ve been a supporting character helping Usagi as a regular guy trying to go back to his regular life while being a loving and supportive boyfriend to Usagi. (It’s also such a missed opportunity with this dynamic that you NEVER see. A female superhero and his bf being the normal guy trying his best to keep up with wtf is going on with his gf and magic beings while also studying for his diploma, living the life of a regular guy trying to make it through school and his job and trying his best to also be a nice and helpful person to his gf’s team/best friends. Most of whom don’t have the highest opinion of him lol).

It’s genuinely what he deserves, he doesn’t need to be stringed along this journey as a puppy for Usagi to be chase after. LET THE MAN GET HIS HUMAN LIFE BACK TOGETHER!! (And maybe some therapy) His whole existence is not just Usagi/moon romance/future bullshit, he’s his own person ffs.

Sigh.. ok with that out the way I’ve already talked about my problems with the “miracle romance” here (tldr, I wanna keep it I like it, just workshopping needed).

Now, is there a way I could possibly organically integrate him into the story as an equal and distinct identity to Usagi.. yes.. do I want to? Not really.

In short I don’t really have a ton of interest in exploring that outside of the first season. That’s where his character gets introduced, where he has the most connections, with Serenity and with the 4 kings and Beryl, that’s where his character peaks and where he deserves to have his “happy ending”. My story is mostly centered around the bond around the girls and the world around them, not romance (even tho there are moments of it, yes, it’s not mainly a romance unlike the manga). Also trying to fit him without having the girls take an active step back is really difficult and has never been executed right.

In the manga him and Usagi are the main characters and in the anime everyone is written to be useless til he shows up. You basically have to scale down everyone else for him to shine and I don’t vibe with that.

Also also, in my version he has no Crystal. People have no Crystals, just the senshi. having a Crystal in you is a strictly senshi thing, him having one never made sense to me (if you like it, good for u, I don’t care for it, idc if it’s explained in canon). So he’s just a regular guy, he’s a smart reincarnated regular guy who committed a bunch of heists and some breaking and entering, but like.. tf he gonna do against a senshi.

TLDR: I like Mamo. Mamo is good, good character, but scale him down to supporting cast and make him a more supportive boyfriend to Usagi and honestly give him more of his own person outside of his reincarnation or future self.

ALSO SMALL THING BUT actually have him interact with the girls in some way, with different and fun levels of chemistry. Like him being awkward cause he knows both him and them want the best for Usagi, but like Rei.. is Rei, Mako’s pissed at him for being a dirty thief, Mina just fucks with him 24/7 and Ami, idk I guess Ami does kind of vibe with him, but like, they are both awkward nerds. I wanna see that!

imagine. during the dance chloe and red are scrambling to find the watch, they see the vks, they find bridget crying because her best friend isnt there, she thinks ella bailed on her, they have to find the watch but, they gotta make her feel better right? red comforts her while chloe chases after them to find the watch, ella comes to the dance late after deciding, fuck my stepmom, get your hands dirty parallels, something something, the four of them all stopping the vks together, THEN they travel back.

Ve'll listen to everyone and take their perspective into genuine consideration. If ve won't get treated fairly, ve sure as fuck will make sure others are, even the Vessels on some occasions. Least favorite thing about her

Unfortunately, that would probably be the other side of the coin. I know it is necessary to have her selfless awareness for others sometimes be blinded by her selfish desires to get herself the fairness she deserves, but it can sometimes lead her to mistrust people and try fucking them over just to escape their chance to fuck her over. Wildcard. Aka Contrarian with the Cheated. They're already eachothers counterparts and man, do they sure make it fun. They both like fucking people over to benefit their goals, but once those goals conflict, they're at eachothers necks, whether with a passion or very unseriously. Still, I think them learning to get along will truly make their dynamic shine. Contrarian shows Cheated ways to take hardships with more positivity and light, while Cheated will NOT let any hurtful jab at Contrarian slide, no matter how much Contrarian has made it a habit of letting insults go and laughing it off to "keep the peace".

Bored Games. Aka Cold with Cheated. This one's just mainly due to their dynamic in their respective Wraith route. They both wanted to just get the job done and move on. And the moment anything stands in their way, they're going plotting. And I always see Cheated as one of the voices that would be most entertaining for Cold to interact with. Whether Cheated gets Cold to where he wants to go or not, it is always an adventure with the guy. Full of twists and turns that you wouldn't think a person would ever be unlucky enough to experience. Well, not Cheated. But they do eventually want to just move on and that may be where their bond truly gets close. Once again, they're the plotters. They only have to give eachother a nod or a signal word and they're ready to go. With eachother, they do not need to wait or hesitate or take any ulterior motives into account when deciding. They're just gonna pick a strategy and figure it out from there. It's comfortable, it's easy, it can even feel safe.

Bonus ot3: The Gamer Trio. Contrarian/Cold/Cheated. Cheated and his two best bros sitting on the bed, leaning against eachother or getting entangled in eachother as they have fun for an afternoon, gaming on one of many consoles with games they've saved up for collected together. Do you see my vision???

And lastly, my personal imaginary poly marriage, but also my favorite vessel/voice ship of all time, Cheated/Wraith. Yes, Cheated does encourage us to fuck her over in the game. But if they were to bond outside of the cycle of violence? Damn it, they'd get eachother like no other. Both striving for an escape from this trap they've been put in, a trap that has damaged them beyond who they used to be (Princess and Hero). And they will use all of the spite they can muster to get themselves where they need to be, no matter how many times they get beat down. They're both survivors who will take as much control as it takes to win over any unfair advantages the game will throw at them. And they find comfort in eachothers strengths, yet also in their emotion. They're both eachothers shields and shoulders to cry on. They feel so tired by the weight of the world, but they won't have to carry it alone anymore. They'll have eachothers backs like no other. If there's anything they can rely on, it's their bond.

Any time someone catches someone else swearing, they put a point on the board under their name. And it turns out it ain't so fun to constantly keep track of whoever swears or get laughed at when you're the foul mouth of the week and Cheated takes full satisfaction in seeing your shame.

In general, Cheated always finds the most creative ways to get back at people for shit she didn't deserve from them and they always come apologizing to her in the end. You mess with Cheated, she messes with you, simple as that.

Yes, these three are recognizable traits of them, but if this is all you're going with in terms of characterization, of course he's gonna come across as boring or not notable, like I've seen some claim. Play around with these traits, look back on certain routes of theirs for more details of them to note, just PLEASE do more research on Cheated. They have lots of potential to write or make jokes with as a character, but do the work first to get to know them before diving into the 100th "Lol, something went wrong for them and they grumble about it" moment as your next punchline.

honestly i love mcc i love competitive minecraft but the game just isn’t fun for anyone anymore. lots of players have dropped out are talking of dropping out or go on stream saying things like ‘this is the first mcc i’ve actually enjoyed in a while’ . like. thats not the sign that an event is successful . and i don’t really think that’s scott’s or the developers faults but it’s more so the culture around mcc that has changed drastically in the past year or so.

when i first started watching it, mcc was about cc’s learning to work together and competing in a fun event where there was no real stakes except the winners got a fun little token. mccs rise in popularity has snowballed a little to develop this culture of expectancy . as with all fanbases, some fans become a little too engrossed in the content and become a little overbearing about it creating this toxic culture of criticism under the guise of analysis . this isn’t to say that all mcc analysts are toxic or that the concept of vod reviewing and analysing a players performance is bad- but the attitude that a lot of the more vocal fans have been taking towards this has been .mm . not the best .

forcing players into rigid boxes based on their performance records and dogpiling them if they undeperform or over glorifying a players for performing above their average etc, it creates a competitive culture amongst fans trying to prove who suppprts the better player . very much ‘my dad is stronger than your dad’ kind of vibe.

this whole attitude also makes it less enjoyable for the players who may now feel a lot of pressure to conform to the expectations of their fans- of course everyone tries their best every event but if someone’s having a bad performance they’re more likely to experience genuine discomfort and self confidence issues continuing in the event because they know what people are expecting of them . even for lower ranking players it can affect self confidence because nobody expects anything of them .

its marketed deeply throughout the fandom as a for fun event with people who are naturally competitive being shunned for their competitive attitude but logging online and seeing people hating some people winning, hating on other teams for knocking their team out of top 2, refusing to congratulate the winners, even complaining over and over again that some aspects of the event like pvp and parkour are unfair to their streamer because their streamer ain’t good at them to the point where pvp and parkour games had their coin distribution rules changed . that doesn’t scream for fun behaviour .

that’s another thing . random changes to games that don’t necessarily need to be changed . the buildmart changes were good it make it easier to navigate and allowed people to move between sections faster and featured some new builds, the sky battle coin distribution prioritising the amount of time you survive over kills actually undermines the point of the game as a pvp heavy event . instead of fighting people you can get away with playing more defensively . we already have survival games for survivability . same goes for remixes i don’t think they typically go down well . some might but majority don’t tend to have a good reception .

even within the players themselves, there’s because quite a cliquey kind of dynamic where if the team with the most support doesn’t win, the winners are not congratulated. take last night for example . ponk and gumi scored their first wins, ponk being the first black person and as far as i can remember gumi being the second woc and first asian woman to win an mcc . let’s not even get into the diversity of mcc right now but only two people came into the voice call which lasted a while after the event to congratulate the team, only sylvee and scott and a few replies on twitter . ‘oh but the captain’ idc . i love him too but he didn’t win and it was a big day for the team that did with 50% of the team getting their first win and they played really well together. looking again at fan behaviour towards creators some players have felt unwelcome by the pressure of the competitive dynamic called bad sports for being upset with their own underperforming and alienated by the community for having multiple wins or because they just don’t want them in the event . that doesn’t scream for fun . and that in itself is really bad sportsmanship .

i think overall what started to kill mcc was it’s pandering really. i’ve fully done research on how scott puts together teams before but i still believe a lot of what goes into a team is how well it will be received. it doesn’t really force creators to get to know each other and work with each other it just takes groups of people who already know each other have relationships with each other and have relationships that are recognisable to the fanbase . this doesn’t allow people to meet and find new creators they might enjoy to watch and it prioritises some teams as the Ones To Watch because of certain dynamics pres t which undermines any smaller creators trying to make their way into the event . the insistence on changing games based on viewer complaints as opposed to suggestions from players themselves on how things can be improved is just odd to me too .

idk man mcc just isn’t what it used to be and a lot of people are becoming way too entitled over what they want to see there

i nearly didn't post this on tumblr because all the posts i found for it were like 'no this is weird' but i couldn't help it.

i'm ngl i'm surprised it's not bigger than it is. i get dan is married irl (and now has kids) but he got shipped with stampy in mcsm, maxo in qsmp, so yeah why not trayaurus

(if one of the why nots is because of something he did in a fake video, fuck that.)

i feel like their dynamic has changed in the new dan and tray series. they don't seem to like or support each other as much, or at least trayaurus doesn't to dan. it's fine, but it's a shame. i do think they genuinely like each other.

i don't know how many people have read the graphic novel but the way they were interacting in that book as just scientist and assistant supporting each other (with occassional pranks and sillies between them) is what i love to see. i eat it up.

idc if this seems cringe. i love them. i think they're adorable and i love drawing them being happy and silly and hugging and breaking the laws of the universe and sitting together watching the sunset and taking grim on walks together in the desert.

For wholesome, I go with Thorn. How we got to her hits me personally, as someone who had a couple of years where I wasn't the best person (I didn't backstab anyone tho, obviously), and reconciliation was tough, but it was something I needed to want and do.

For the sweet sweet angst, the Wraith, MOC and Wild take the cake. You have to royally screw em over to get them and I feel for what they have become, as a result of Larry's (LQ) actions. It hurts my soul to see the voices hurt but we had it coming.

5. Favorite Voice?

Strictly canon speaking, as much as I wanna say "all of em", bc I do, I have to go with Hero. I like him so much I turned him into a woman/hj. I am a sucker for characters whose main trait is undying loyalty, and Hero is that but more. His presence in all the routes made me attached to him, and how those routes shaped him made me laugh, cry and wanna hug him. I think to me, because he is in every route, he has the most development to attach to.

In my headcanon, that would belong to the Opportunist. I know he's an asshole and I love him in spite of that, I also like to think about the potential of him learning to curb his backstabbing nature and start to form genuine connection with people, but is fighting against his own instincts, and the impression he has already left on the voices and vessels. Guilt eats him alive, every day and the angst potential there lol. I am sucker for redemption story.

ANYTHING WITH THE VOICES!! MY GOD, I WANT THEM TO BE A POLYCULE SO BAD--

Seriously, I fell in love with so many voice ships that I just made em a polycule and that opened up to a TON of ideas about internal dynamic (That I may or may not be willing to share).

Top 3 voice ships that I talked a lot about: ColdHero, CheatedBroken, Stubtunist (yes really)

(But fr no dynamic is safe from me. I ship all of em simultaneously).

Princesses....uhhh...I don't touch em alone, ngl. At least in terms of shipping. Some are cute but I don't actively think about em. But I do have some Princess and voice ships.

- Thorn and Opportunist: I know I know him and the Witch fit more, but this follows my idea for Oppy i said above. So him getting together with the woman he backstabbed, got stabbed in returned and then chose to free gives me free serotonin. They are so domestic, it sickens me (affectionate)

- Stubborn and Adversary/Eye of the Needle: very basic but I love it. I am all for violence as an expression of love (not irl, obviously). And there is sooo much you can do with em. Go all violence or make em knit sweaters for each other!! Idc I wanna see it!

- Paranoid and Spectre: are you seeing a theme of me shipping different princesses and voices? Yes, and I am not sorry. This is part of an AU I am making and that made me think of different dynamics. The Nightmare is cool, but I don't want Para to constantly be chanting, so the Spectre is a good compromise between spooky and "I can see it working out".

- Smitten and Tower: this a guilty pleasure. I am a sucker for big woman who thinks she is hot shit meets a man who hypes her TF up. I lean towards platonic with this one (Tower seeing Smitten as a devoted follower, while Smitten is completely lovestruck) but one can make the argument that it can be romantic. Hell, the fandom did it with Broken and Tower. Speaking of...

15. Least favorite ship(s)

- Tower and Broken: This is less explicit hate and more biased discomfort. The Tower reminds me of...someone I met who acted the way she was kinda and now I just hate those types of people from the get-go. Add that with Broken, a voice that advocates submitting to her, and you are not seeing me putting this ship in a good light. No hate to anyone who can and do make em more wholesome tho, that I can take.

- Razor and Cheated: same reason as the one on top, my past relationship with people made me dislike this ship (and the Razor in general honestly). Also I get REALLY attached to characters who take Ls a lot, so I just want Cheated to have nice things. And really? Who wouldn't?

That's pretty much it. You have to screw up BAD for me to not see the potential in a ship. And these 2 up top, i don't mind if others ship em, or if I see fanart, my own experiences just make em icky for me.

WELL. Firstly this will probably be romantic in nature bcuz I am simply a girlie who loves bi4bi jeanee and I know u dont ship them but YKNOW!!!

Hmm. This is not something I've ever thought about, honestly. There's just soooo many things to consider. Would he go to school, make friends there? What would his life look like? His trauma from the raven's has probably fundamentally shaped a large portion of his personality because of how severe and constant it was. It's so genuinely hard for me to consider what he would be like as a person if he was never sold to the Moriyama's.

But I can just ALWAYS see him being a gentle person, and I can see him working well with Renee no matter the circumstances. If she had met him when things weren't how they were in canon, if he didn't have so so much to work through, I can imagine them having a very simple and easy romantic relationship. I can see them having such a peaceful, beautiful life together. But it's also like, I do believe he latched onto Renee and fell for her partly because she was one of the first people to show him care and kindness.... she literally saved his LIFE and that shapes a lot of their relationship, shapes how important she is to Jean. And I think Renee understands people like Jean and Andrew specifically because of what all of them have gone through. She understands misunderstood people who struggle with trauma and mental health problems.

Regardless, I would give anything for Elodie to be alive and to see Jean grow up with her. I imagine Renee would get along so well with Elodie too :,) and she would totally admire how gentle and loving Jean is towards his sister. And Elodie would ADORE Renee for sure. Imagine Jean and Renee just being "best friends" at the start, but Elodie pestering Jean to make a move on Renee bcuz she loves Renee so much and wants Renee to be part of their family.
