Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is how everyone thought Egon had gone insane. What Happened that made them think that. They've fought a gigantic Stay Puft Marshmellow Man TWICE (counting the 2009 video game because iirc it's canon? Correct me if I'm wrong), fought an interdimensional god, fought a blood thirsty ruler that killed thousands and was hated by all that was trapped in a painting (and managed to get in to beat him by making THE STATUE OF LIBERTY start walking down the street with slime that reacted purely based on vibes), found an underground abandoned transit system full of the moodslime, had a bathtub try to eat Dana and her baby, fought a giant murderous black widow lady, fought the fisherman ghost who turned an entire hotel floor into the bottom of a ocean, and that's not even mentioning them getting trapped on an island that randomly raised up from underwater that had been abandoned for decades created by Ivor Shandor who worshipped Gozer. So what did he do or say that made everyone else think he'd gone insane?? All I can think is maybe he was acting strange / eratic before, but he's always been like that to some degree.

I don't know. It's something that I've been thinking about. The correct answer is 'it's not that deep and they needed a reason that the others weren't together anymore and weren't aware of Egons death or know what was going on,' but also. What Was He Saying that prompted everyone, including Ray, to think he lost his mind when he'd been right almost every time before that.

I'm genuinely so curious as to what he was up to before this. What was he doing. What insane idea was working on prior to this or was he even working on anything at all??

Also want to clarify this post isn't negative 😭 I really love the newer movies and their lore / the newer storyline / characters, I just like thinking about small stupid things like this. Gives me something to think about / speculate about / figure out an answer to.

Yeah maybe semi-controversial thing to say on tumblr which is a website that loves these words: I am not a big fan of people calling Sonic Characters twinks, fags, dykes and other stuff. I know they're not real teenagers obviously, but I'd never call a teenager any of those so it still feels weird.

I mean I don't really use those words anyway because I look and present as straight despite not being, so I don't reckon it's wise. But there's something especially icky-feeling to me as an adult about the idea of calling a kid these words. I can't fully articulate.

Obviously, I'm not saying anybody else has to agree or that it's wrong to use these words; they're not real characters so it's not like they have opinions on what they're called. Popping this here to ask if anybody else feels the same way, or can articulate why/ why not better than I can?

Tradition vs Modernity vs Comradery

In the first drawing, Fernando is wearing a capote de paseo, which is what bullfighters wear before the match begins, as seen below:

In the second, Seb is shouting the very familiar "Olé" which is shouted by the crowd to praise the matador. He's a little brat, so of course he's yelling it for himself, but he did get many 💐

The third(which was a random sketch I had that I didn't think I'd finish tonight, so ignore if its messy) has very important context to me. Before going to the final act and killing the bull, matadors dedicate their montera(hat)(and symbolically: their kill) to a a specific person in the audience(or just the public as a whole.) Seb and Fernando are finally in the same color! Seb is bowing!!! And Fernando is honoring Seb!!!! Also ignore that I drew Seb's post-retirement hair. Though, maybe this drawing is supposed to represent Fernando making a dedication to his now-gone rival 😔(Seb: stop telling people im dead!)

So I talked about this in my last matador post but I'll expand more. I think it's very funny to characterize Fernando in this au as this fun-hating traditionalist. Because you have to understand; he's only this way when it comes to Seb. Because you absolutely KNOW he was doing silly, unserious shit back when he was younger. But absolutely god forbid Seb do anything silly.

It's very ironic because there literally is a part in the third act of a bull fight where it's basically encouraged to be a bit silly. This is a tad morbid, but basically right before they deliver the killing blow, some show their mastery over the bull by doing some superfluous action(ex. kissing the bull, kneeling in front of the bull.) There's some guy who literally would lean on the bull and mime taking a call. But anyways, Seb would def do this. I've not been able to draw it exactly how I want, but he would bend down and do his little bull horn symbol and mime charging at the bull. (Fernando, trying to make up reasons to hate Seb: oh my god, look at this blatant disrespect, look how he is disrespecting the bull, I cannot believe how rude this boy is!)

Also there's something to be said about how the matador shows mastery over the bull by kissing it or bowing to it...and Seb is technically the bull in this au and Fernando is the matador. There's just this unfortunate level of weird power inbalance that still lingers even though their rivalry is over and can't be affected anymore. There was no succinct answer about who truly was better because Seb was forced out of it. So there's always gonna be this level of "is he just pitying me? Is he just mocking me? Is he just patronizing me?" on Seb's part whenever Fernando praises him or makes dedications to him. And Fernando's always going to be haunted by the fact that there's no answer to who is truly better because he'll never know if Seb had reached his full potential or not. Anyways, they also have nasty sex while wearing their costumes and do weird bull/matador roleplay :)

Ok I know I said I need to stop being negative (or at least I implied it) but it's craaaazy to me how the most recent petsims (i.e. Lorwolf and Santae) have had behind the scenes drama spill out resulting in at least some negative reception from their audiences.

I wasn't around for early Lorwolf development, but I've heard there'd been at least some dissent before it fully launched and the crazier shit (former mod if you remember) happened afterwards. Now I think most people kiiiinda didn't end up caring about all of That in the long term, and most of its decline can be attributed to bad-to-mediocre management of the game leading to players generally losing interest. It's still wacky that it ever happened though.

The past two months have been RIFE with drama in Santae's corner. The game is only in an "alpha" phase (though we could argue about how much of it is really an alpha testing phase and not just an early access marketing campaign based on how I've heard they aren't doing anymore wipes Lol Lmao Even) and is just about to finish its KS campaign, but there are people dedicated to exposing the staff and it's business practices. It's fucking insane to me. I know a number of people have at least decided to reduce their backing pledge if not pull out of it entirely because of this. That said, it's still doing very well for itself. The amount never went below $72k, and they're currently at $75k right now. There's also people who are, pardon my french, dick riding like crazy for Santae over in the drama blogs. I have no fucking idea where they're gonna end up going from here in the long term. It really depends on whether or not they can deliver an enjoyable game, unless a crazy assortment of skeletons spill out of their closet.

Meanwhile, the worst things that I remember ever happening for PB impacting reception is the color/breeding system change, uhhhh maybe the centipede/spider mystics, and a fabricated callout that got resolved in a day with nobody believing it in the first place. I've only ever seen a handful of anonymous complaints about things behind the scenes, and they have only been vague assertions with zero follow-up.

So like, what's the deal? If I'm willing to believe the anonymous dissenters of other sites, then I should also believe these few nothingburger anons directed at my site too right? But like there's fucking nothing. IF it's true things aren't perfect behind the scenes in PB, then why hasn't there been more spilled about it? I know PB staff are under NDA, but from what I hear that was also the case with Santae, and that sure didn't fucking stop them! So I have to assume things aren't so bad in this ship. Or that there's a better handle on keeping things quiet. One is more preferable to me, but ultimately will have the same result. It's very... Weird. To think about.

Yes, he does. Because Yo Han's got no reason to believe otherwise, based on how Ga On is behaving. He can tell that Ga On is attracted to him, sure, but that's physical. And sexual and romantic attraction are two entirely different things. One doesn't guarantee the other and just because you feel one — or even both — you don't actually have to act on it.

I'm more or less writing Yo Han like a bisexual demiromantic, i.e. he's good at recognising sexual tension/attraction but he's not very experienced with love. He's never really been in love before because he's never allowed himself to get close enough to someone to actually fall in love. And when you combine this with his upbringing and lack of social interaction with other people? Love is probably pretty tricky for him.

Not in a "he doesn't feel it" way because he does — and he knows that he does — but he's not the best at reading it in other people. Not at all helped by how he just doesn't get the whole "love at first sight" thing (because, again, demiromantic), which has made him wonder if, just maybe, his concept of love is different from everyone else's. He knows what love means to him and he's seen other people be in love (like Isaac and his wife) but applying that to his and Ga On's relationship is very difficult for him, especially with Soo Hyun complicating things.

Like, if Yo Han tries to compare how Ga On behaved around/treated Soo Hyun (who he assumes Ga On was in love with) to how Ga On behaves around/treats Yo Han, he can see a lot of differences. And it's a problem when his method for figuring this whole situation out is: "That is how Kim Ga On behaves when he's in love and, if he doesn't, he's probably not in love with me." Because that misses the part where people don't always behave the exact same way when they're in love (because it can be influenced by who they're interested in) and, if anything, it should be the other way around.

At this point, it's probably better to look at how Ga On behaves around you, Yo Han, not Soo Hyun, if you want to figure out what he's like when he's in love x'D

... but he doesn't know that, of course.

So, in short: Yo Han knows that Ga On cares about him and he knows that Ga On is sexually attracted to him, but he has no way of knowing if Ga On is in love with him. Yo Han has too little experience with it to be able to gauge that.

But, at this point? He thinks that Ga On is just too in love with Soo Hyun to ever love him (which is what this post was about)

And, in a very heartbreaking way, he's kind of grateful that Ga On made it clear he's not going to act on what's between them because Yo Han assumes it's only sexual attraction and some confused fondness on Ga On's end anyway. And Yo Han would just... rather not if that's all Ga On can give him. Because, for once, he doesn't just want sex — he wants love, too.

... this man is, once again, a goddamn onion.

And, for my own sake, I'm going to have to make a detour and write Yo Han's POV of what happens after he's gone into his bedroom because I SWEAR THE FUCKING BASTARD WON'T LEAVE ME ALONE. Completely unrelated to the last post (lie) but I truly do not see Ghostbur and Wilbur as the same person. Ghostbur is a part of Wilbur, yes, and he wouldn’t exist without him! But I just think that there’s a whole lotta Ghostbur that’s just… Ghostbur. You can’t take a blade of grass and call it a meadow, even though meadows are made up of blades of grass; just a blade of grass on its own doesn’t mean it’s a meadow. It’s kinda like that for Ghostbur and Wilbur, in my eyes. Ghostbur is a piece of Wilbur, but he’s more than just that. And Wilbur is so much more than Ghostbur. Wilbur was the meadow and Ghostbur is a single blade of grass picked from the meadow. I’m not sure if any of this makes sense, it Is midnight.

I could go on and on about this some other time and I’d love to talk more in-depth about this some other time, but yeah. I really honestly do not believe that they’re the same person.

how do you guys see the Finn and Damien rivalry playing out?

Clearly they’re presenting Damien as a babyface that the crowd adore and root for. They still have to set up Finn’s motivations and ruthlessness more in my opinion which i’m sure we’ll get in the coming weeks.

I just don’t see who loses this feud. They both need this and with the assumption that the heel loses the rivalry, I don’t know if Finn’s character can handle another loss

I also don’t like that Finn leaned into the street trash thing… it feels shallow considering we have years of history between these two. He could easily take the jealousy route or the ‘there can only be one’ rivalry route or something

I went to the gym today and in between sets my instructor would usually give me some absurd hypothetical question like "Would you rather fight one horse-sized spider or 100 spider-sized horses." or "Which crime would you commit if you're able to completely get away with it?"

This time he asked: "If you could chop off one pound of flesh from anywhere on your body for $100,000, which body part would you chop off?"

I immediately answered "my chest" and my instructor quickly realised that I was the absolute worst person to ask this question to.
