LONG POST AB PLAGIARISM!!! PLS DONT SKIP 😭 this is also 1/2 !!!

hi.. this has been plaguing me for a while if I am honest .. I am too nervous to speak up about plagiarism lately mostly bc I feel as if I am being oversensitive or a narc bc I used to overreact a lot on my old blog lol and I also used to get a lot of racism/hate there and it kind of made me hesitant to call it out. plagiarism is one of the reasons I have been so writers blocked and disheartened when it comes to writing lately

usually I dm the person if the fic is not too similar but clearly inspired and ask them to give me credit which i have done a lot lately literally about 3 times in the past few days! those people all complied and added credit and one even took the fic down which I didn’t ask her to do but she did it bc she was apologetic!

I approached @acynicalsweetheart with this too! DMs are below if u can bother reading them bc there’s a lot.

she is very sweet and apologised immediately explained herself and took my point of view into mind which I appreciate a lot!! i was ok with being credited as a framework at first bc I didn’t want to be too pushy or whatever but I had only skimmed a few of her fics as I have had anons before ab it being copying but never answered bc I don’t like to name and shame without reason and also was too nervous for it which sounds stupid but sometimes I’d rather just let something pass instead of getting rape threats and racism!

I was genuinely at first under the impression that it was only a few fics however I asked some of my friends n mutuals if I was overreacting but they said that this is def valid and most of all it’s upsetting to see mutuals, people who read my fics praise work that is legit my fics patched together.. like I know when someone hasn’t written a fic it’s hard for them to see the plagiarism but it hurts my feelings that a style I’ve been working on for so long could be emulated so easy.. I was ok with the credit but like then I read more and more and it became clear to me that the plagiarism is so.. like there’s so much you could mistake the fics as mine and I completely understand inspo but this is just straight up plagiarism and I wished I had called it out beforehand I feel like I have been kind by simply asking for credit or if she would make a post admitting to it bc I know that these huge callout posts only lead to hate and like blocks and it isn’t always fair but like this is just likes on fics that r reworkings of mine and my fics patched together

my fic starts with leon talking about hunnigan, he steps out of work and it’s raining. fraise’s fic starts like that too. the left is mine right is fraise… OFC it doesn’t seem too overly the same but like the mention of the vintage leather jacket being ruined by weather? 😭 what r the odds and it’s like a lot of this I wouldn’t note as overtly copying if the rest of their fics weren’t also taking on a similar pattern to mine

then it keeps going on and my fic is ab Leon feeling guilty ab fucking his bunny hybrid.. that’s what fraise’s is ab again.. nothing too insane like hybrids and guilt r common in fics LOL but like again.. copied from lovey dovey is just this section rewritten

and then there’s a part in my fic rotten luck where as Leon fucks reader he remembers the Latin prayer his mom taught him. And he remembers it slowly as he fucks reader and again it would be nothing of note but with the rest of the copied content ?? and btw tjis is just small snippets like if u read both fics side by side it’s insane how similar they are but fraise’s fic is just lovey dovey and Somebunny mixed together

there’s also little things like Claire using terrasave to save hybrids that I made up in my fic that fraise also uses whixh again!! would genuinely be nothing of note but it’s as if my characterisation of Leon, how I see him interact with other characters has just been taken, Like I know it’s dumb but I loveee to build my own views on how Leon interacts w Claire ashley and hunnigan and whoever and to see it be taken .. almost word for word is like? I just don’t get how someone could even take headcanons and the way a fanfic author. Characterises rather than building their own views on the source material and it’s not like I mind any of this but it’s the plagiarism that gets me 😭 I don’t want this to be taken as me upset somebody is inspired by this work or whatnot im upset that it’s plagiarism ! this is a smaller one but it’s still? so similar .. the first is fraise and the second mine

and I also wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and be like theyre not doing this on purpose and they were genuinely inspired but a lot of this is just purposely taken from my fics and reworded to sound different and it would be ok if it was a couple lines but the whole fic?? and a lot of it is done cleverly enough that it looks like im reaching to find things to nitpick on but I do this a lot in fics.. I cycle through what Leon thinks characters are going to think of him for doing something awful I have done this in two parts of rotten luck.. I have done it in Somebunny loves you and lovey dovey and even just certain descriptions are taken from like parts of strictly business (chris sounding and looking constipated LOL) and carefully pieced together to create some Frankenstein of my fic instead of just writing ??? like surely that would be easier

the other fic which is very similar to my fic softer softest is fraise’s fic love is a losing game! mine is about curly coming home after a long trip and fraise’s is ab curly about to leave this the opening passages of both.. and again if u read the fics side by side u will so many more similarities rhese two fics r also fraise’s original ones where as the ones that are requests tend to differ from my writing? so it’s like your two original fics are just copies of mine but a little different 😭 The first two screenshots r mine the third is fraise’s fic

on my tumblr I actually made an upset post ab this and then legit 5 mins later I was credited so it’s not like they don’t understand what they have done and I do appreciate the credit ?? but 😭

Hello! I've decided to have a little bit of fun this December and will be opening up requests for the month! Please see below for more details (With subheadings!):

Requests Overall

I will have 31 slots available for requests, first come, first serve. Each piece will range from 1000-2000 words in length and may (MAY) include a little doodle made by me.

Requests can be anything! They just have to be winter/holdiay themed (do NOT have to be releated to Christmas) and DCA-related

Winter/holiday themed means movies/stories too! Ex: i am a BIG fan of The Nutcracker (went insane when I saw @/robinette-green's au for the Barbie version lmao)

As most know I am an X reader writer, but as long as my general request rules are followed, I don't mind writing for ocs, canon, etc. 

For those who don't know my rules, no nsfw (suggestive is FINE), and if you want something specific, be specific. Besides that, it's fair game, request what you want

Potential Issues & Schedule

If there is overlap between request ideas, they will be combined in some manner of speaking (if possible). If needed, I will reach out to you about adjusting ideas or the likes, though I don't forsee this happening. This would occur if for example, someone wants gift shopping with Sun with their oc, and someone else wants the same thing with a reader-insert. Whoever requested second would be who I reach out to. 

I will be posting these throughout December, ending on the 31st

In order to have enough time to write, I will be starting these as soon as I get the first request. To speed things up a little, requests will be open from 11/29 to 12/13 OR until I receive 31 unique requests. So that's maximum two weeks to think of an idea and share it with me. 

If I don't get enough overall or get anything prior to Dec. 1 I'll probably come up with some ideas of my own, but only if that happens! Additionally, if I don't get enough, I may open it up for people to request multiple times, again only if I don't get enough or run out of ideas (genuinely don't know how many I should expect so just trying to cover my bases lol)

To keep things organized, please request in the comments of this post. This also helps to potentially keep from overlap in requests, as you'll be able to see what else has already been requested. If you request in my ask box or such it'll make things a bit more difficult, so please avoid that.

HOWEVER, there is one exception to the above, which is if you wish to request anonymously, which is completely fine to do! But please only request in my ask box if you want to be anonymous. If overlap happens in that case, then y'all may just get two responses with similar vibes on the same day (essentially a bonus lol)

Confused Spirit

For those who may be concerned (as I was before making this post lmao) Confused Spirit's schedule will not be affected by this! Now that it's back I'd like it to stay back lol. We may stick to an every two weeks schedule for a bit, or may go back to weekly, it will depend on life stuff, not on other writing things. I promise ^_^

Having little things like these also help prevent writers block, and thus stay more consistent with updates

Eli embraced your anxiety with ease. It was your first time meeting his mother, and you felt a bit on edge. Still, you were welcomed warmly — everything felt cozy, and being there was comfortable, largely because he never left your side.

His fingers rested gently on your arm, his hand steady on your back, especially when someone new came over to say hi. Even when the conversations with his brothers were short, he could read your shy smile — you had never spoken to any of them before.

Sometimes, people would glance from him to you and just… smile. It made your chest feel lighter, like a breath of fresh air. It didn’t feel like you were intruding. It felt like you were being quietly welcomed into a place that already had a space waiting for me.

You slowly began to open up, letting yourself stay in conversations a little longer. Eli’s touch remained steady on you — always a gentle hand on your back or his fingers brushing your arm. His eyes kept checking in on your face, and every now and then, you’d nod and smile at him, just to let him know you were okay.

In just a few minutes, you were in the kitchen with them — with Eli and Ali, his mom. She wasn’t intimidating like your mind had convinced you she would be. Quite the opposite, actually. There you were, chatting about how to make tomato sauce and what could make it better.

Eli mostly listened, the smile on his face never fading. His freckles seemed to follow you like a patrol, and his hair was already a mess from running his hands through it too many times.

Ali cleared her throat softly, and you realized you’d been staring at him too long.

“God, I’m not gonna get a moment alone with you, am I?” she teased.

Your cheeks flared with warmth, and Eli laughed beside you.

“Nope. Sorry,” he said, trying to smooth it over for you. Ali went right back to talking about tomatoes, like she hadn’t just caught you daydreaming.

The kitchen smelled amazing. It was beautiful, too — big and open. It made you wonder, just briefly, what kind of home Eli imagined for himself in the future… and if maybe you were part of it.

“El?” Your voice was soft, almost like an invitation, as you handed him a knife. You’d started helping her peel tomatoes and thought it was only fair he made the job go faster.

He did. And Ali laughed when she heard the nickname.

“You’ve got a nickname for his nickname. That’s adorable.”

Then, with a grin, she asked, “When can you come over again? Eli says you’ve got a sweet tooth — I could plan better next time.”

You bit the inside of your cheek. Even though you were comfortable, your words still had a habit of getting stuck.

“We could come back this weekend, Mum,” Eli answered quickly, giving your hand a light squeeze.

Ali smiled at that — genuinely, kindly. “You’re welcome anytime. Eli told me you work nearby, or… if he’s off playing a show in some other continent and you feel like talking.”

That made your whole body feel icy on the outside, but warm on the inside. Knowing Eli talked about you with her, that she genuinely wanted you around — it meant something.

“We should remind her you're my girlfriend,” Eli teased.

Both your eyebrows shot up, and you and Ali burst out laughing together.

“I’d love that,” was all you managed to say — your voice small and trembling, but honest.

Eli, ever your translator, added, “I’ll give her your number so she can steal all the time you’re supposed to spend with me.”

And when Ali looked over at you, you both rolled your eyes in perfect unison at his drama.

The silence that followed was peaceful — filled with the soft sounds of chopping and the bubbling from the stove. And then you broke it.

You’d expected to maybe cut your fingers eventually, clumsy as you were, but not while slicing a tomato.

You weren’t sure if it was deep or not — you didn’t even want to look. Just the thought of blood made your heart race and your vision blur. Instinctively, you pulled your hand behind your back, fists clenched tight.

“What happened?”

You didn’t hear his voice, but you saw the panic in his face. In seconds, Eli was at your side, hands gently moving from your arm down to your wrists.

“It’s okay,” he said softly, nodding to your face as he held your hands. It wasn’t a deep cut, but it bled just enough for him to know you shouldn’t see it.

“Eyes on me, okay? I’ve got this.”

You didn’t look away from him — not once. And seeing that calm on his face, that quiet confidence that you’d be fine, was enough to steady your breath.

Eli held your wrist under the water. You closed your eyes, taking a short breath to steady yourself, and focused on looking at him. His messy hair had fallen slightly over one eye, and the scruff on his jaw was starting to show — you smiled softly, grateful to have him there.

There was something quiet and special about knowing you could handle this alone, but with him beside you, you didn’t need to — and it never felt like a burden. Truthfully, you didn’t even feel the sting while he washed the cut.

Ali gave the two of you space, pretending to busy herself with the sauce, though now and then you caught her smiling to herself like she was watching something unfold that she already knew the ending to.

“Sorry,” you murmured, barely audible, “it wasn’t even that bad…”

Ali offered a gentle smile from across the kitchen, still wrapped in that cozy air.

“Eli mentioned you don’t do well with blood or seeing people hurt,” she said. “I’m just glad he knows what to do when you’re feeling like this.”

She was so kind, so open — it made you want to stay near her.

“Wow, you really know everything about me. Eli’s such a gossip,” you joked, making her laugh through her nose, a little louder this time.

“Oh, he talks about you all the time,” she said, amused. “Has been for months. I’ve been trying to get him to bring you here forever.”

She handed you a soft, colorful cloth to wrap your finger, but Eli showed up right after with a box of band-aids. Your heart felt warm, and once the bandage was on, he kissed your fingertip and then your cheeks.

You usually hated when moments like this happened — especially around people you didn’t know. It always felt like too much attention when all you wanted was to disappear. But here, with his family, it didn’t feel like that.

You felt safe.

Dinner had been lovely.

Eli held your hand on his lap under the table, and the two of you had agreed earlier — if you ever started feeling overwhelmed, all you had to do was squeeze his hand. He stroked your palm gently, and every time someone mentioned a relative you didn’t know or who wasn’t present, he’d lean in, kiss your cheek, and whisper an explanation: who they were, who they were married to, how they were related, and what part they played in the family lore.

Outside the house, just before getting into the car, he pulled you into him, your cold arms pressing into his sides as he held you close. You made sure he didn’t squish the box of sweets his mother had packed for you to take home.

“You were pretty brave out there.”

You looked into his eyes — always shining when they were on you — and at first, you didn’t get what he meant. Then it clicked.

“Not because of the cut,” he added, “but for everything else.”

You were born and raised in anxiety. Eli was the opposite — he could speak to anyone, even complete strangers, with ease. Sometimes you wondered how you two had even met — not in a way that made you feel undeserving, but because certain situations felt so mismatched.

Still, he’d never cared.

And you knew deep down that the only reason it took you this long to meet his mother… was because you were afraid it might go wrong.

You didn’t say anything right away, just let the feeling linger — the quiet happiness of the night settling in your chest. You rested your forehead against his and he whispered, “They liked you. Mum said you were soft… a bit like me.”

You smiled into his embrace as he pulled you even closer.

“You’re gonna have to bring me back, El.”

He nodded, the words landing between you like something gently arriving on a runway, the warmth of him wrapped around you.

Being called brave by him? That would stay with you the whole ride home — maybe even into the next morning.

why is ming such an interesting character - a thoughtful essay originally posted in the my stand-in mdl comments section

Probably an incoming unpopular opinion ahead (read with caution lol, disclaimer that I am not attempting to justifying Ming's wrongdoings to Joe, more so trying to understand for myself and anyone else why I find his character so interesting):

Am I the only one who doesn’t hate Ming, and wouldn’t consider it to be a sad ending if Ming and Joe ended up together? At least as of now, especially from what I’ve seen currently and how I can imagine the direction the rest of the series might take. Let me expand.

For context, I went into this drama not expecting very much, and felt extremely sceptical of the trope of the ‘stand-in’ it uses, because one of my pet peeves in romance dramas is the ‘transfer’ phenomenon. If you haven’t heard that term before, it’s basically a psychological term about how a person (let’s call them A) will ‘imprint’ on someone else (person B). So to have a ‘transfer’ regarding someone else, for example, would mean that person A might have liked a person in the past (person C), and then meet someone new (person B) who resembles that person (C) in some way, and purely because of that, person A starts to also like or believe that they genuinely like person B. The problem with transfers is that they typically are rooted in a person’s (A) unwillingness to let go of the past person, and don’t truly love/hate (whatever emotion it is) the new person (B). This drama, reverses that trope.

This will link to why I find Ming’s bond with Joe to be more genuine than I’ve seen be believed on here (just based on a few comments tbf). My theory is that, ironically, it was Tong all along that was Joe’s metaphorical stand-in from the start. Why? We see a short flashback of Ming going to the cinemas and seeing the ad/clip of ‘Tong’s’ back, doing a martial arts scene, but we only see his back. That very shot/scene is what made Ming feel entranced by Tong and motivated him to seek Tong out with his sister for an autograph. He even mentions it himself to Tong. However, I believe that the ‘back’ that Ming saw, was Joe’s and not Tong’s. Ming « fell in love » with Joe’s acting/aura/presence on the screen first, but mistook him for Tong who is the ‘known’ actor of the film he saw. So all along, his feelings for Tong are somewhat illusory, and obsessive. Tong, who in my opinion gets off of happily at the notion of someone being infatuated with him, simply strings Ming along (and uses him), as we’ve seen.

In my opinion, Tong represents the side of Ming that was raised in a classist, materialistic family that rather obsesses about ‘spectacle’, in a way that harms Ming in the long-term. That kind of lifestyle or way of life makes him petty, distrustful, overtly and unreasonably jealous, and aggressive. Behaviours that manifest very evidently when Ming sees Joe with Sol, but particularly in correlation to scenes in which his affinity for Tong has been strengthened (Tong only sharpens the conditioning Ming has been raised through, that of being sceptical and always needing things to go his way, and fuels this, either by being in his direct company or feeding him seeds of doubt indirectly). Tong represents attachment and obsession but not love. Particularly the scene in which Ming renders Joe unconscious and keeps him captive is the most blatant example of Tong’s influence, which brings out all of the qualities of Ming that reflect the wealthy and entitled background he is born from and still lives off from.

Ming’s interest in Joe is different in my opinion, and the series carefully points to this in a nuanced way. If my theory is correct about Ming having been drawn to Joe first, rather than Tong, and the feelings that were initially meant for Joe came to be directed toward Tong (and became twisted due to that fact), we can assume that Ming’s feelings for Joe are more…instinctual. They awaken something in Ming. And to me this is perfectly shown in their first interactions: Ming hugs Joe from behind, believing he is Tong, but if my guess turns out to be true, he subconsciously went toward Joe and embraced him with the original feelings that he felt at the cinema (when he truly ‘first’ saw him), rather than the other way around, which the series makes us believe at first glance. Then, in their interactions after, Ming is consciously reluctant to open up to Joe (showcasing the walls he has up, even toward Tong), but is still intuitively interested in Joe, wants to be around him, and cares about what he is up to. In my opinion, he sets unfair and unequal conditions in their relationship at first because of the self-d��fense mechanism he has kept up (someone with his background would find it difficult to trust and be vulnerable with someone else easily). This is why the most crucial interactions between Joe and Ming, in my view, are the scenes at Joe’s home. We see that Joe had said that Ming had fulfilled HIS dream to come back to a lit home and with someone welcoming you back warmly. I believe this is something Ming has long craved as well for himself, and Joe expressing this, and being the way he is, makes Ming feel safe and allows him to become more open, more intimate, more honest, more ‘himself’.

I feel that Ming struggles to fully understand these sides of him, and has even more difficulty communicating it to others (especially Joe), but that his gentler moments show indeed the equal, and dare i say, even ‘healthy’ potential of this couple. We see this from the last scene of this episode. Instead of Ming indulging in luxuries for someone of his status, or succumbing to some kind of greed, he has pertained to what he has truly desired all along in his heart: a warm home, where he can lead an honest and loving life with the person who sees him past his social persona of the rich, pampered, entitled and obsessive kid. This is symbolised by the fact that he has continued to live in Joe’s home, waiting for him for the last two years, which reflects his commitment and earnestness which he had gradually developed for Joe, even before.

I think what people get (understandably) confused or feel betrayed by, is the scene in which Joe realises he has been a ‘stand-in’ for Tong by Ming, especially during sex (because this is somewhat what Ming consciously believes for himself too). For me, I saw it more so as, on one level, the revelation of what I just mentioned about Ming’s prior conscious intention (which evidently is form of betrayal to Joe), and on another level, it is a defining moment of transition, where Ming is still somewhat clinging on to Tong (because of the feelings he first felt for him at the cinema, which could really be Joe again), but also clinging still to what he knows and about his way of going about things (through manipulation and violence).

So a transition from that, into the growing feelings, appreciation, and warmth Ming did start to exhibit at Joe’s house (the symbol of vulnerable space). We see this through Ming buying the couple mugs with THEIR names (Ming and Joe), or the meaningful moments of genuine happiness that Ming feels in the simple, non judgemental moments between the two of them. This is something his sister comments about, that seeing Ming with Joe is surprisingly pleasant because it is the fist time in a very long time since she has seen Ming happy and so smiley (this is one of the biggest external piece of evidence to the idea that Ming’s « feelings » for Tong have a very different nature to his feelings for Joe). And we see this very clearly in the scene in which Joe bought a watch to Ming (and which I believe we see him promote now two years later on the poster he is). That scene is extremely significant because it shows the shift and differences of Ming alone with Joe compared to with Tong or how he is used to being. The watch is a gift from Joe, who believes it to be the « top » watch in terms of ‘quality’ and price, something we see Ming ALREADY HAS (and doesn’t have particular personal feelings toward). The top watch he has reflects his status, his wealthy background and the expectations on him by others and himself (to be considered societally the ‘best’, but in a rather vain way). However, Joe’s watch isn’t the top watch in a societal, classist sense, but it holds more value to Ming because it represents Joe’s sincerity and that matters more to him. The watch, which is typically a common symbol of time, also reflects, in my opinion, the difference in how Ming spends his time. By taking Joe’s watch and wearing it, his way of using time is also more personal and sincere, wanting to lead a life of authentic connection with someone on the same wavelength as you. In his act of taking of his old watch, which was the ‘top watch’, Ming leaves behind his old lifestyle, or at least takes on more step toward exiting it (the life of vanity and falsehoods). So all these signs of Ming’s genuine interest, endearment and feelings of care for Joe are sprinkled there from the beginning, and the series deliberately is setting a constraint between his potential for warmth and healthy sincerely with the baggage he still has from his past through Tong and his family (something he both feels and is to some extent very much controlled by).

The series has really made me invested, and that has really been invigorating for me (as I binged the episodes today) because I haven’t really felt that as much with a lot of BL series lately - not that there aren’t don’t get me wrong, just that it feels like fewer have my engagement than usual. And to me, the series’ strength at this point (excluding the very good acting etc) is the writing, so I am very hopeful that for the parts of Ming that would require a form of redemption, or improvement, that the series would allow him to have that arc by the time that Joe and him supposedly get back together (if they do). In the case where my interpretation is close to the series’ intention, then i believe that although it doesn’t make the previous scenes justified, that it would be very much possible for Joe and Ming’s relationship to take on a healthier, more mature turn, where their relationship would become more patient, communicative and understanding, just like the interactions they shared in their own shared home.

I’ll probably end my train of thought here, but would really like to hear if anyone disagrees or agrees with my opinions, would be happy to hear from anyone hihi. Thank you to those who read this whole e s s a y, i’m appreciative of that :).

I know a lot of this fandom is in the queer community and puts a lot of that into fics and stuff and I was wondering if you’d ever had the thought of adding some queer themes or character headcanons to the SGUN timeline? This is not like a demand or some shit LMAO I’m just genuinely curious cause I find it’s a common theme in the fics

This is a super good question! And TY for asking it so respectfully!! Buckle up folks. Also this is just my own little take on the characters and how they fit in my story and me as a writer, I def read ships other people write for the fandom 😂

Tbh I’ve waffled back and forth on it because I feel like some of the ships a lot. Ones that I sorta could see in my mind for my fics specially are Steve and Soda, also maybe Ponyboy and Johnny. I have eaten up fics about these pairs tbh 😂

however I waffle personally BECAUSE

1. (Less important) I feel like a really impactful point of the outsiders is like male friendships and that level of vulnerability is so rare and I really like the way that it sorta focuses on boys being able to have those deep emotional and physical connections without it immediately equating to a romantic relationship. Like part of the beauty of Steve and Soda’s friendship to me is that they can be vulnerable with each other and rely on each other for emotional support as friends which was like not a big thing especially in the canon time period. However, they also would work well romantically imo. I need the angst of them being in Oklahoma in the 60’s, so as I said I waffle 😂 also there were thoughts of sprinkling Steve and Soda in the background of SGUN, I also thought about having a little Parry reference there too (Darry out here having Bi energy to me, but that’s a whole other story lol).

2. (Importanter point 😂) I’m a cis straight (as far as I know lol, haven’t really dated anyone ever so 🤷🏼‍♀️) white woman, so I do want to really ensure that I have been respectful of the queer community (and other minorities) when I’m writing. I know there’s a lot of instances where one could argue straight women fetishize mlm relationships etc, so I also think that plays a role in me wanting to be mindful of making sure to not elevate my voice above queer community authors or not representing that community accurately if that makes sense? Idk like also I just don’t ever want to feel like I’m speaking about something I’ve never experienced and it coming off as disingenuous or disrespectful as many people have actual personal experiences with the topics I would be writing about. All this to say partially I’ve just been more neutral to be cautious because in a lot of ways I come from a place of privilege and I take that very seriously and try to constantly be aware the implications of that, both in my personal writing and also as a healthcare provider. Basically, I kinda worried myself into a little corner and was like it’s not my place to write those kinds of ships for this fandom 😂

All of this to say, I am not opposed to writing the aforementioned ships because I do feel like the shifting dynamics would be fun to explore, but I think I’ve just been cautious because I’m a nervous Nelly and want everyone to feel respected ❤️

ooh read the sneak peek and I just have to say I love how you write anger! It feels exactly like how I’d think the MC would feel in the situation and the frustration and helplessness just boiling over to completely snap is delicious and so so satisfying and perfect!

of course no pressure to code this in or anything but I feel like in the last bits of chap 2, some MCs might really just wanna break down and start crying lmao. Being numb and all of the other options are all super great but honestly if I were MC I’d just wanna let out all the helplessness of the situation in sobs until I finally let out all the frustration and fear and hopelessness until MC can only feel an ache. Poor MC thought they saw their kinda weirdly MIA sibling possibly drown in the middle of a horrible storm, proceeded to then drown in said storm with confusion about what the hell is happening to themself and willow, wakes up in weird hospital with one weirdo and one strange sweetheart and the knowledge they should be dead, everyone in the town is weird and off and they have to process that dozens of people in this town disappear presume dead (is this real?? am I dead? is willow dead? are these people fr? what the fuck if up with my phone? liars everywhere? people just disappear and it’s chill??) and then literally being stopped from leaving by ravi after having him be a bit of an insensitive ass (/affectionate?) and then almost dying after losing control of their body ✨

A / N: MY FEET STARTED KICKING AND I SCREECHED WHEN I SAW THIS ASK, OMG ANON YOU’RE THE BEST. 😭🙏🖤 I typed it all out last night and went to bed (and added a little more this morning), but HERE I AM TODAY, SHARING THIS WITH YA.

Okay, I’m gonna be giving y’all the background/backstory of this AU first before moving on to the headcanons because it’s pretty important. And I’m going to say it now, there are some triggering topics, so read at your own risk.

AU Background/Transfem!Dally’s Backstory:

— This AU takes place in the summer of 1968. (Three years post-canon.)

— Johnny and Ponyboy are dead. (Johnny from the church fire in September of 1965, Ponyboy from su¡c¡de in August of 1967.) Soda and Steve run away together after Ponyboy’s funeral, Two-Bit is in rehab for his alcohol addiction and Darry’s in a mental hospital after a failed su¡c¡de attempt.

— She became gender dysphoric about a year after the events of The Outsiders. She had NO IDEA what was wrong with her / why she was so uncomfortable with her body. Around February of 1967 she starts noticing how she prefers feminine clothing / products over masculine ones and it furthers her confusion. (I’m totally not projecting on how I got over my dysphoria.) When Ponyboy died and Soda and Steve ran away, her dysphoria worsened, and she finally managed to get over it a month before her 20th birthday.

— She changes her name to Sonia. She chose this name because she remembers her father telling her when she was little that if she’d been born a girl he’d’ve named her Sonia. (Reminder‼️: In my AU her parents were not ab*sive. They loved her more than anything in the world.)

— She was closeted for a few months until she couldn’t hide it anymore and came out to Buck. He cried and hugged her and promised her he wouldn’t tell anybody. They grow closer in a father-daughter way.

— Some jackahh at Buck’s roadhouse found out and told everybody that was there. Word spread like wildfire and soon enough the whole town knew. She got jumped, jeered/laughed at, threatened a lot (mainly by the Socs) and as a result she stays inside a lot.

— Evie visits her one day and Sonia’s a bit wary because she’s not fully trustworthy of people. (She has the right to be, people were literally de@th threatening her.) Evie tells her that she’s also trans (my AU) and Sonia is so shocked by the revelation that she starts yelling in Russian. (That really freaked Evie out.) They end up talking. (In English, lol.) A lot. Evie teaches her how to put on make up, wear heels (even though Sonia’s like, seven feet tall. My AU, btw. 🥰), style her hair, etc. They eventually become best friends.

Okay, now that we got THAT outta the way...

Main Headcanons:

— Sonia’s very feminine. She wears a lot of jewelry and swaps out most (if not all) of her old clothes with dresses, skirts, pretty blouses, etc. (Basically super girly clothes, idk, I’m not a girl anymore.)

— Evie gave Sonia one of her make up kits and Sonia was SO excited. (She tried to hide it, but it was obvious she was happy.)

— Definitely the type of girl to spray her perfume at 8 A.M and make the person/people behind her start choking on the fumes.

— Her hair is pretty long (she never cuts it; she hates haircuts, it’s a canon fact) and she is OBSESSED with styling it.

— Just because she’s a girl now doesn’t mean she doesn’t fight anymore; she’s still tough as nails. She can and will break your neck if you piss her off. (Bbg can break my neck any day.)

— I have a small headcanon that she likes to draw, so sometimes she’ll redraw her favorite pictures of her and the gang (occasionally a photo of her with her parents) back when they were together. (She draws herself as a girl, obviously.) It makes her very emotional though, so she doesn’t do it often.

— Girlie paints her cat’s nails, argue with the wall. (She wants her lil’ furball to feel pretty too, okay? 🥺)

— She’s genuinely the happiest she’s ever been in her life, but she’s lonely. She wishes she could share her cheerfulness with the gang, but their gone, and the only people she has left are Buck and Evie.

Sorry for not posting these for a while. I went on a trip for a few days after watching this episode and was too busy to edit the post, let alone watch the next episode. Anyway,

Okay, so it seems like some time has passed. Oczy seems to be living in a little shed in the middle of nowhere. And learning to read.

"If the written word were available to everyone, unreliable information would flood the world" I wish he was wrong, really I do. Like, don't get me wrong. Teaching everyone to read and write is totally worth it. But we do, in fact, live in a world flooded by unreliable information. And, even though on the internet anyone can write anything, some people will still believe anything just because it's written down. (And also in the wonderful world of 2025 AD, you can spread misinformation worldwide even without any reading or writing involved. Isn't technology amazing?)

Okay, I understand how Oczy feels, but writing a diary under these circumstances is a serious risk. You're basically writing down your crimes here. You know what happens if the wrong person reads this, right?

"Rainbows are God's way of congratulating us for withstanding the rain" That's weirdly adorable. Like, I get the reference to the flood story and all, but it's just cute.

The lecture about rainbows reminds me of the time a guy at a conference tried to fit an hour long lecture into 20 minutes by talking three times as fast. I doubt anyone in the room understood much of that talk. Slow down, dude. Don't forget to breathe.

Okay, so that's the theme for the episode. Badeni doesn't like to share knowledge. He tries to add an ideology to it, but it seems his actual reasons are mostly personal.

And it's an interesting choice to have a main character who says stuff like that in a show like this. This guy studies the universe and wants to know the truth, but he wants it only for himself and insists that other people can't be trusted with it.

I guess he can use this as a defense if the inquisition gets him. After all (at least that's how it was with such institutions in the real world), their main goal is to stop "dangerous" ideas from propagating. Some guy figuring stuff out and then immediately burning his notes is not a threat. (Which is probably what will eventually convince Badeni to share his research with others. He seems like the kind of guy who takes "you're not a threat" as an insult)

Aw, Grabowski seems like a nice guy (No, I will not be surprised if he does something horribly misguided that results in someone getting tortured by the inquisition, but he seems like he's genuinely trying to be a good person).

Oooh, more backstory. I see. Badeni shared his research with someone and regretted it, and this might be part of why he's Like This. And he allegedly killed someone over this. Of course, he'd hate to admit he was wrong.

Huh. The world sucks, truth is necessary to change the world, and yet, you insist that sharing the truth would be somehow wrong? Am I stupid or is there a contradiction here? And Grabowski seems to agree with me.

Woah, Badeni figured out elliptical orbits?! (In the real world this was figured out quite some time after the main idea of heliocentrism)

"I really don't understand peasants" Lol, indeed you don't. There is only one thing you seem incapable of understanding: normal people.

Meanwhile Oczy is just… a decent guy trying to improve himself. I don't think he even cares about going to heaven anymore. When we first met him, it was his only hope, but now I get the impression that it's not even his main reason for sharing his bread with the poor. Aww…

Huh? What do you want from that beggar? Well, whatever it is, now you see that kindness can pay off sometimes :)

"It's not like I'm giving you more bread because I like you or anything!" :P

And then we get a bit of the other perspective. The Church unites people. That is, arguably, its main purpose irl. And it's a good thing, actually, creating community. But what's the cost? If only the ignorant will follow you, is it worth it to keep the masses ignorant? (Badeni seems to think it is, even as he perfects his heretical theory, which is, honestly, fascinating to me.) The Church unites people. But sometimes it's easier to keep people united against an enemy, and sometimes that enemy is the truth.

And here's Mr Nowak again. I expect at least some part of the next episode to be about how he actually thinks the bishop's lecture was like 99% bullshit, but still finds some other reason to do what he does.

Also, what's that book Grabowski found? Who's leaving books just lying on the ground in the garden?

TELL ME ABOUT TED. Headcanons you have for him, anything... Can be silly or serious.

Someone... SOMEONE'S ASKING ME ABOUT MY HEADCANONS?! IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE SOMEONE'S ASKED ME ABOUT MY HEADCANONS!! HOLD ON, I MADE A DOCUMENT!! /ref/hj

In actuality, I did genuinely make a google doc. But it's not ready to be shared yet, so I'll share the highlights.

First off, the game manual lies. He is NOT 44. He's 33 at OLDEST. I kind of consider him more like 29/30. Just barely.

He grew up in South Carolina hehe, farm boy

Bisexual disaster but I think this is kinda just obvious.

He is the oldest between him and his 5 siblings!!! And adding onto this, he is SUCH a good older brother. I don't care if everyone else disagrees, he could be the worst man alive but the one good thing someone could say was that he took care of his siblings.

If you know Ayano from Kagerou Project, I think he's a lot like her when he's younger. Like 8/9 years old. He tried so hard to protect them all from their parents and keep them happy. He'd sacrifice so much for them, it's why he kinda,, went into the extreme of being so,, entitled as a grown up. Ykwim???

Just imagine. With the ice caves, moving without thinking to save the others before himself? His brain subconsciously doing what he knows best; sacrificing what he has for others.

Selflessness as a core trait for Ted, please.

Another thing relating to his siblings: He knows how to do ballet!! And he's REALLY good at it. He actually has a lot of fun doing it. One of his sisters wanted to, but she was too afraid to take lessons alone, so he went along with her in secret. Didn't get caught for years. (She stopped lessons once he got forced out of them)

He talks a little like a New-Yorker, or at the very least, that transAtlantic accent (yk like from the old movies?) to try and play off as that kind of guy like Great Gatsby.

His actual accent is Southern. Sometimes it slips out when he's like, extremely flustered/angry, but it's such a rare thing.

He can't stand the sound of someone crying, it immediately makes him angry. Take that, and yk, Ellen or Benny constantly crying... Yeaaaah. (This is also due to his siblings).

This is obvious, he forces himself into doing a lot of masculine things that he doesn't like to appear older/wiser/better, insert whatever word you wanna use that translates to "I am insecure about myself" lol

Okay this last one is really important to me and like. It. Needs its own special paragraph. He is a creative person in his soul. He loves to learn, he loves to write, he loves to read and dance and sing and draw and he has such a huge imagination and love for creativity. You can see it in his psychodrama with how it plays out like a full-blown Grimms Fairytale, the monster he imagined that no one else could see, the line in the radio drama "Am I the last storyteller, telling the last story...?"

He's a storyteller. He has so much to say and share, and he would've done something creative with his life if he had the option, but the abuse he faced and the societal expectations placed on him forced him to,, give it all up. Made him realize he could never have that. Which is why, at least in the game, AM chose him. Ted had so much potential to create, and just... gave it up. For seemingly nothing. Why wouldn't that make AM mad, who can't create, can't even imagine or wonder?

I have like, also. I have a somewhat-AU of Omori for the ihnm cast, and Ted takes the role of Basil. I think Dream Basil vs RW Basil fit a lot of what he is as a kid vs an adult, or at least aspects of both due.

Questions Regarding Timelines or “Canon”

I don't have an exact timeline in my head for this blog. In my imagination, Eridan and the other trolls are just alive again and in the present, and all the previous storylines still exist within it. The difference is that it takes place after the comic, so everyone is an adult just going along for the ride lol I guess that's what I'm going for 🤷‍♀️

I apologize if I stray away from the "canon"... I try to stay as true to the characters and their dynamics as I can. But sometimes it's just fun to be a bit silly and go off book for the sake of adding some humor. Also….it is an ask blog of a character that died pretty early on and did not get much in the “character development” department lol So again, I do my best to write him as “canon” to his true attitude and behavior as I can. But it can get very hard to give nuance to a guy who overall was pretty shitty, didn’t have much dialogue in the first place while also giving him a fake timeline that takes place a couple years down the line and allow him to have a crumb of self improvement without it coming off as too ooc. So if you see behavior that you don't think is accurate to him…..i promise I do my best…….i have google docs and PowerPoints on this guy lol so I promise the brain rot runs deep

I don’t wanna say “I feel the exact same way!” just in case it provokes discomfort, but I’m someone who only involved myself in either OC or small fandoms where I was extremely closed off to my peers until I found CLH. I don’t like to take over 10% from others mostly because I feel like I’m stealing personal love and becoming a low-quality factory. I even search up things before speaking about them because I don’t want to be seen as a copycat. But if it’s too good to pass, I just explain myself with my head down haha т  ̫ т So I have similar feelings…

My personal opinion regarding nicknames is that it’s either an epiphany or something you can spend a lot of time researching. I think you can view it as a pet! You give them a “main name”, and then many other nicknames.

Sometimes, nicknames will suddenly feel really cold. This is a normal feeling. I used to call the “Normal Ray” I fell in love with Ray-myon and Myoyyan because of the squid-like feeling until I realised it sounds more like Ramon… If you’re an all-you-can-eat, it sounds like there’s no problem. It even helps to search up name endings!! That’s where I got ‘-rin’ for Rayririn (and then I added on an extra ‘ri’ to fill the extra space. Beause of this, I like to spam ‘ri’ and summon Rayriririririn.). And if you want to get really picky… you can look into the tone. In my opinion, tones that go up sound cute and tones where you have to hold it sound playful and sweet, and maybe even glamorous depending on the usage (I don’t have opinions on any other tones lol). Ray ri↑ri↑n→, something like this (I’m sorry it’s unintelligible, I really do try haha)

You can also use objects!! For me, there’s a 5% chance I’ll call Ray ‘little lightbulb’ in regards to the light and how the bulb looks like his nose ₍ ᐢ. ̫ .ᐢ ₎ There’s a lot of spikeiness to Fake, so I like to call him ‘little lawn clippings’. It’s really good the more stupid it sounds…

TLDR: You can search up name endings, affectionate terms, and derive inspiration from other nicknames. As long as it comes from your heart and you feel happy with it, don’t worry about how “genuine” it feels or how other people may view it. It’s easier said than done, so… I wish you a lot of luck (ˊo̴̶̷̤  ̫ o̴̶̷̤ˋ)🍀.

Awww well I'm just happy to know there is someone who understands! I try not to stress over it too much, in a way it's like a cute blind collaborative project between random artists, but the thoughts are always there ovo'' and I crave something I can call my own. Oh though getting ideas and nicknames from my friends is more like accepting gifts, i am very at peace with that as long as its fitting or funny > < hehe I understand and admire your way of thinking and diligence n.n

Spend a lot of time researching.. So how r we feeling now knowing that redson was planning to do it? Also warning this may be very poorly worded lol

I know that I do not talk on here if at all, but I'm gonna give kudos to @/kyri45's foreshadowing regarding redson's confession.

Sure I came into the series from tiktok so I was a teesny bit behind when I clicked that It could be found on tumblr. REGARDLESS!! I find it pretty much flawless how the foreshadowing worked out;

Firstly when we're introduced to courtnapping; its when redson reveals he has horns— even then we knew these two were going to be pining losers! But we also see how the thought process works. I would've talked about how it could've been literal months in the making.. however this one line kinda blew that wayward (no harm just caught me off guard)

Does this mean he hasn't been thinking about it? ABSOLUTELY NOT! personally my theory is that he's had the urges long enough to where I wouldn't be suprised if he became a teensy bit restless by the nag of them; but only for the sake of thinking of a good time and date to work on it. (the world has been in danger how many times now?)

Next we have Macaque explain courtnapping plain and simple as; its an any demon thing, it only took a second read to process it and ask myself; "any demon?" Thats when it clicked for me that redson could be preparing a courtnapping. Even though some people have definitely caught onto it earlier then me.

Also it makes sense that with redson working on the courtnapping; it makes sense to why the hell he was so on edge and more emotionally volatile (with the added power of lack of sleep).

Now since redson has blown his plan sky high after blatantly saying that he was planning on courtnapping mk, how can he recover?

This is entirely speculation, however;

- He would need to rethink his strategy on how to even kidnap MK, now more then definitely expecting it

- Personally I do think MK (after the whole ordeal with heaven) would probably be waiting in anticipation for the courtnapping, so redson would need to be wary of that too

- Do I think mk would purposely become a little more vulnerable at times to have redson get an opening for courtnapping? Kinda. Do I think redson would go for it? Maybe, i have my doubts but its not a 0% chance

[Do I think redson if by some instinct would accidentally take advantage of it? ABSOLUTELY, that would be hilarious but also idealistic.]

Tldr; I think the foreshadowing by introducing us to new info and using that information for another character is genius, but also redson you have screwed urself over how are you planning on bouncing back to said plan?

Now, I am absolutely worried for the shit redson has planned for the courtnapping. We gotta remember; REDSON IS A TECHWIZ, he can come up with almost A N Y T H I N G that comes to mind. The fact he has spent five restless days to plan everything must show he has a whole lot to show for it.

But also he is very much going to need to sleep to be able to actually carry it out; otherwise he might fall asleep in the middle of doing shit. Redson this is ur sign that before you do anything else; for the love of God sleep, mk will still be there come morning.

Overall genuinely curious to see if redson will actually pull off doing the courtnapping even after that blunder.

Today gave me strong Perci vibes and I love to write for him so here is more lol. My tragic boy I love him so yeah also this one is going to be much shorter because I’m extremely busy rn and should be studying instead of writing but here I am LOL Anyway,

Snow covered the once freshly filled dirt hole in the ground. A snowstorm brewed around the Across the fenced in grounds, hundreds of stone graves covered the area that looked just like the one Perci stood before. Each one had a name, a family that they belong to. A family that was stripped from them long ago, fighting a seemingly endless battle. One that still cursed the land of gracious Pytharios. So, effectively, their deaths were all for naught.

Locking his eyes back to the headstone in front of him, Perci read back over the words engraved into it that he had seen thousands of times before. 

“Can you forgive me?” Perci began, hanging his mouth open trying to properly articulate himself as the wind whipped the right words out of him, “I wish I listened to you. You were right. And I was wrong. You wanted to protect me and I never listened.”

He stopped himself before he could unload all of his thoughts out to a simple stone sticking out of the ground. He panted frantically. The heavy winds wanted to knock him on his feet for voicing his silly concerns. This was war. All conflicts get solved through it. It was necessary to live. With life comes war that’ll take it from you, along with everything else. Perci, almost falling over, stumbled as a burst of wind crashed into him. The bleak, loveless winds knew better than a sentient being, of course.

“I shouldn’t have gone against your will. I just thought that—Well—I—I thought you would appreciate me following in your footsteps. I see now what you meant then. Why did I go? I just wanted to learn some magic and get a job to help out you and mom. And then I got good, too good for my own good! And then— the… mandate. I didn’t want any of this!” 

Perci half expected the grave to answer, fully knowing the man below would never answer anything ever again. He scoffed at himself for being so naive. 

“I suppose I would be following in your footsteps now. Graduated. Drafted. Then, finally dead. In a graveyard surrounded by thousands of other men who were given the same cruel fate as I have on this day.” Perci managed to wheeze a few gasping laughs of it all but laughing wouldn’t help him now and he knew it. He really was as good as dead out there, as far as he knew about the strange world beyond the familiar horizons that he would soon leave behind in the coming days.

writing asks: 8, 14, 23!

“8. what’s your relationship with constructive criticism and feedback like? do you seek it out? how well do you take it?”

Hm it’s complicated. Because on the one hand, intellectually, yeah, I like it. Logically I see why it’s useful, and logically I feel like I should want it.

On the other hand, an instinctual defensive part of me is like “yo im a self-taught teenager who’s lettin y’all read my work for free w/ no hope of ever monetizing it so like…lay offfff”

I guess it depends. If it’s stuff like “he wouldn’t say that” or if it’s sort of flippant/irreverent, my instinct is “fuck off”. But if it’s genuinely helpful, like saying “oh you’d benefit from adding character descriptions” or “maybe add more evocative imagery” then I’m more like…grateful/appreciative.

tl;dr I’m often instinctively irritated by criticism but grateful in the long run, especially if the feedback is constructive/comes from a place of already liking the work but seeing ways to make it even better.

“14. what’s your worst writing habit?”

I don’t think I’m very good at giving POV characters distinct voices. I mean they all sound vaguely like themselves, it’s just they also sound vaguely like each other/me.

I also can’t commit to long plot-centered fics- I have so many outlines for em but I just can’t focus on one thing long enough for that 😭

Uh I’m bad at coming up with plots in general plots are my no.1 opp

By drawing, and vice versa. When I can’t write I draw, and when I can’t draw, I write. (Incidentally, this is why I haven’t drawn lately but have written a bit more than usual- no drawings are coming out right and it’s driving me nuts lol) (to you specifically Veep, I am trying to finish the Cherry & Randy drawing, but I’m SO ANNOYED at it rn bc they are NOT COOPERATING w/ me- augh you can look at her she’s under the cut n she’s frustrating me rn)
