Hi can I have Ignihyde for # 8, fluff or comedy. Thank you!
Anime Boot Camp || Idia Shroud ft. Ortho
For the Holiday Event! || Prompt: "This is non-negotiable" ; Genre: Fluff with Comedy ;
Tumblr media
You should’ve known better. You really should have. But Idia had given you one of those rare, half-excited, half-nervous smiles, and you’d been putty in his hands.
“Sure, Idia,” you’d said with zero hesitation. “I’d love to watch the new season with you.”
A seemingly innocent offer. A simple act of camaraderie. And then, Idia had dropped the bomb.
“Great. We’ll start from season one. It’s non-negotiable.”
Season one?
“Wait—how many seasons are there?” you asked cautiously, trying to keep the panic out of your voice.
Idia adjusted his tablet, the glow highlighting his sinister grin. “Nineteen. Not including the movies, OVAs, or the bonus material. But don’t worry, the filler episodes are only about 35%.”
Your soul left your body.
“I—uh…” you stammered, searching for an escape. “Do we really need to watch everything? I thought we were just watching the new season?”
“You can’t watch season 20 without context!” Idia exclaimed, horrified. “You’d miss all the foreshadowing and character arcs! It’s essential to the viewing experience.”
You looked at him, and there it was: the genuine excitement in his eyes, the rare spark of passion that made him absolutely irresistible. Damn your stupid heart.
“Okay,” you sighed. “Let’s do it. Start from episode one.”
Idia’s face lit up, and if you weren’t already melting, his quiet “Y-you’re the best,” would’ve sealed the deal.
That’s how you found yourself on Idia’s couch, sandwiched between him and Ortho, with snacks piled precariously around you.
“This is the start of a life-changing journey,” Ortho said cheerfully, handing you a soda. “Big Brother has been waiting for someone to share this with forever!”
You glanced at Idia, who was trying to hide his blush behind his hoodie.
“You sure we’re not biting off more than we can chew here?” you asked weakly as the opening theme of season one blasted from the giant screen.
Idia waved you off. “Nah. If we watch at 1.5x speed, skip the ending songs, and only take five-minute breaks every eight episodes, we’ll finish in about four days.”
“Four days?”
“Non-negotiable,” he reminded you smugly, tossing popcorn into his mouth.
By day two, you’d developed Stockholm Syndrome for the characters.
“NO, KAZUTAKA, DON’T DO IT!” you yelled, clutching the blanket you’d stolen from Idia’s bed.
“It’s his tragic backstory arc,” Idia explained, completely unfazed by your emotional outburst. “He has to do it for the narrative payoff in season 14.”
You groaned. “This show is going to kill me.”
“It builds character,” Idia said, smirking.
Meanwhile, Ortho was a model of efficiency, pausing episodes precisely for snack breaks and bringing you hot towels like you were at an anime spa. You were starting to think Ortho might be the MVP of this whole operation.
“Ortho, you’re a saint,” you said as he handed you a cup of tea.
“I just want to support Big Brother’s happiness,” Ortho chirped, beaming.
Idia mumbled something unintelligible and pulled his hoodie tighter.
By day four, you were fully invested.
“THE PLOT TWIST! I KNEW IT!” you screamed, nearly knocking the bowl of chips off your lap.
“Pshh, called it back in episode 47,” Idia muttered, though the gleam in his eyes said he was enjoying this more than he’d admit.
“You did not!” you argued.
“I’ve seen this, like, three times, noob,” he retorted smugly.
Ortho, who had already created a mini shrine for your endurance, clapped in delight. “You’re catching up to Big Brother’s level of dedication!”
When the final credits rolled, you leaned back with a dramatic sigh. “We did it. I can’t believe we actually did it.”
“I can’t believe you survived,” Idia said, looking at you with a mix of awe and amusement.
“Maybe a family sometimes,” you said, stretching, “is just you, your crush, and his technomantic humanoid brother.”
Ortho tilted his head. “Does that mean you’re officially part of the family?”
You froze, glancing at Idia. His face was redder than a lava eel, and he was aggressively pretending to read something on his tablet.
“Well,” you said, smirking. “That depends on your brother.”
Idia groaned, burying his face in his hoodie. “You’re insufferable,” he mumbled.
And yet, when you shifted closer to nudge him playfully, he didn’t pull away.

now on the other hand, if I can find that res evil company fic poll i will write this fic but uh writing a res evil fic company that uses their fucky wucky viruses differently. Pretty gosh dang sure in that world it is a Legitimate Concern.
but that is fantasy!
fantasy is not reality!
often it is preferred, but it is not reality!
for instance, in that fic the reason the si, despite basically just having the same life as me up to 21 but with a little screwery with chronology, is wealthy enough to go collecting the raw ingredients is because instead of being so chronically isolated and parentally dependent that I could be convinced to stab a baby to death if you promised me skin contact, my “parents” left me alone just enough for me to combine being one of those kids that sell their nudes online/JK around at the ripe age of like 11 years with S T O N K S
why is this something I would have preferred?
1 the economy is fucked
2 genuine actual human attention
3 not becoming essentially an incel for long enough to start contemplating on r@ing and killing a bully (is it incel if said bully was male?) because it would be all I could ever have in terms of human interaction with someone other than my “parents”, who to be fair weren’t wealthy but like… .75 parent household does bad bad things to mental health and makes you horribly unempathic when you see everyone else just fucking living it up, high on life and all that jazz.
4 trauma that doesn’t make me seem like a spoiled little bitch enby
5 trauma that doesn’t make me seem like a spoiled little bitch enby, again, because the amount of “being lonely isn’t traumatic” I have gotten has done wonders for my self esteem
6 i would finally have the other half of the geisha skillset, seeing as i am a people-pleaser with artistic skill at singing, dancing, and story-writing. instead i am a bastard warlock wizard bard multiclass that sometimes rolls 170990 on magic missile and sometimes rolls 1 on breathing, but everyone expects you to consistently perform miracles just because I could back before the loneliness started unpersoning me. i genuinely believe it ate my gender identity and preference. hey at least it didn’t do that all the way for my sense of self and reality, just took a lil nibble and i now emotionally treat characters as if they were real sometimes and feel more kinship with mineta and jimmy even though they aren’t the same level of bad person because i have too many mirror neurons to safely be depressed without stanning the most problematic char because the villain always has massive fucking trauma while the hero is perfectly fucking mentally healthy despite having a 1000+ kill streak.
it’s all trauma.
(Yes, it’s all about me. If it weren’t I wouldn’t be able to aspire to anything.)
i hope you all realize that literally nobody is going around forcefemming cis men in real life, right? like that is Not A Thing that is happening. everyone who posts forcefem jokes on tumblr is well aware that doing that would be. you know. a crime. it's barely even legal to consentfem trans women in a lot of places.

Everyone chose dom!Sevika so that's what you'll get: NSFW
Mean dommy Sevi who doesn't tolerate brats?
Warning: just filthy, degrading, fingering, straps, pussy slapping, spanking, spitting, orgasm control, overstimulation, mommy kink, maybe more? Idk
"You think you can just fucking bad mouth me all you want bitch?, who do you think you are huh?" She simply spat at you while holding your cheeks together in such a painful matter. Your lips all swollen and red, puckered out as she scolds you. You've been mouthing her off all morning and she couldn't take it anymore. She hates little brats who think they're to good for simple rules for their stupid brains.
You let out a small whimper which only earns you a rough slap to your pulsing clit. You jerk up and squirm around trying to get the painful but wonderful burn to go away. Sevika uses her mechanical hand to hold you down. "Stay fucking still and take your damn punishment. Or are you that much of a brainless whore you don't know what that means either?" She scuffed before letting your face go, she sat up. Her abs glistened with sweat, her sports bra covering those amazing tits of hers you just wanna suck on. Her happy trail that just leads you to a pair of boxers. You'd kill to be buried between those fat muscular huge thighs of her and suck on her huge clit.
Your thoughts get cut off by a firm slap to your clit once again. "Eyes up bitch. Now count, mess up and I start again." Sevika grabbed both your legs and put them next to your legs. Giving you an even more vulnerable look, your cunt completely on display and you can't even more. Sevika uses her fleshed hand to run two long thick fingers across your slit. Her warm spit hitting your bare cunt all of a sudden that causes a gasp and your hips to buck up. She gives a small chuckle before slapping your wet cunt.
"one!" You let out a airy breath taken back by the sudden roughness.
She slaps once more, a bit more pressure to it.
"t-two!.." you whine out and grip onto the old white sheets under you.
Suddenly a harder slap lands directly on your exposed clit.
"oh fuck!...u-uhm..three.." you barley manage out, tears forming in your eyes. You can practically sense her smirking at you without even looking. Sevika lands another harsher smack on your poor abused cunt once more. Causing your mouth to go into an 'o' shape as your body trembles and a new squirt of liquid seeps it's way out of you.
"Did, did you just cum? From having me spank this stupid pussy?" She laughed, genuinely laughed. "I didn't know you were so much of a pain whore love" you whimper and shaked while trying to rub your thighs together. "Please.." Sevika throws down your legs and climbs on top of you. Her thick thighs either side of your torso. "Please what? What do you want." "Please...please fuck me mommy.." you pleaded out with teary eyes, Sevika glared down at you before roughly choking you. Not hard enough to hurt you, but where you could feel the pressure. "Say that again."
"f-fuck me mommy.." Sevika practically growled as she tore off the rest of her clothing. Her erect nipples and tits all on display for you. Her boxers completely out of the picture, her bush now in full view. "Oh I'm going to ruin you bunny.." you shivered as she leaned in by your ear. "Be a good whore and open those legs for me.." she breathes out, her voice deep and husky. You spread your legs slowly until she leans back a bit and grabs your thighs, forcing them wide open. She gets off of your body and leans down to your pussy. Sevika blows warm air onto your cunt watching as your breathing became unsteady. Slowly both hands came up and spread your slick folds apart. She watched your hole clinch around nothing and smirked. Then proceeds to take a long lick from your hole to your hypersensitive clit. "Fuck honey you taste so good" she moans out against your pussy.
Sevika places her cold mechanical hand onto your thighs making sure it stays open. Her warm fleshed hand took two thick fingers before roughly fucking it into you. Starting a brutal hard fast pace. Not even giving you a chance to breath. The pain and pleasure forming into one. "Yeah that's right, take my fingers. Gotta have you ready for my cock"
She growled out, watching your greedy cunt suck in her fingers. A white ring already forming around her fingers. She smirked and looked at you, her gapped teeth showing itself making you clench around her fingers harder. "I'm gonna need my fingers y'know, greedy pussy, shit baby" your moans getting impossibly louder and body shaking. She quickly withdrew her fingers and gave another firm slap to your cunt. You whimpered and mewled into the sudden emptyness and slap. Sevika quickly got off the bed and grabbed her shimmerstrap. She purple glowing 7 inch dildo on full view. You watched as she put it on and grabbed some lube. You watched as she poured lube over the thick head of the dildo. Her hands coming down to spread it all over in a jerking kind of way. Whatever it was, you didn't care. She looked fucking sexy as hell, you gave out a small moan watching the obscene scene Infront of you.
"god baby, you make me so wet, I bet you know that huh?" She chuckled out. "You're gonna take mommy's cock like a good bunny aren't you, hm?" You drooled at her words and the scene before spreading your legs wide open. All shame out the window, you just needed her in you.
"this is gonna be a long night..."
~shi man I barley even write fics, idk what this was

This line. God, this line! It has been eating me up inside for 2 days now, because let's not forget, this line isn't about love, it's about trust. And that has implications that make me want to scream.
It's a direct reference to this moment earlier in the episode:
Tumblr media
At the start of this discussion, Style and Fadel still have a kind of playful air about their conversation:
Style: Oh? Not even me? Fadel: You're at 80% at best. I feel like you're hiding something from me in the 20%.
In this exchange, though, there's a sense that Fadel is issuing a challenge, like there's something specific which Style can do to gain Fadel's full trust. And while Style knows there are things he cannot (yet) reveal to Fadel, I think a part of him is determined to be as honest as he can be, which is why he issues a challenge of his own by asking for more specificity:
Style: What do I have to do to gain your complete trust?
Part of this question is a simultaneously inquisitive and deflective - What (and why) do you think I'm hiding (something) from you? - but there's also a moment after Style finishes speaking where he stills and goes quiet that feels... genuine, weighty. Or, as @airenyah has pointed out in her meta on Style in episode 4, the "grounded[ness]" in Style's demeanour is a signal that Style means what he's saying in the moment. Maybe about his own desire to be worthy of Fadel's trust, maybe about how he genuinely does want this relationship to be real in whatever way that matters to Fadel.
Tumblr media
I think Fadel sensed that too, because the moment looses all the lightheartedness it had before. Fadel pauses, and then gets a look on his face that just... breaks my heart. There's a sombreness there, like he knows he's going to have to say something that makes him sad. Fadel looks away, and then down, before he seems to steel himself and says:
Fadel: It'll never happen. No matter how much you love someone, I just don't believe that you can completely lay yourself bare in front of them.
Fadel says this like it's fact. Like what he's expressing is something foundational and true and irrefutable. It's not even about his doubt in Style's honesty, because this statement has no qualifiers or conditions put on it to connect it to Style. Rather this is what Fadel fundamentally believes about relationships and trust: he finds the very concept of being fully known and still accepted an impossibility.
Sure, maybe this is because of the falling out (or betrayal or disappearance) associated with the former lover; but I also think it might be because Fadel is acutely aware not only that he's hiding a rather big and dark secret (not to mince words, but: actual literal premeditated murder), but also about what it implies about Fadel. Because being able to kill another human, coldly and clinically and without remorse, takes a certain type of person. Because, yes, Fadel has lived through an absolutely harrowing and traumatising event (his parents' murder), but it's also undeniable that it changed him. Because there's something about Fadel that twisted dark and which he never quite got back. There's an anger, a hurt that colours every moment of his life; that enables him to look a man in the eyes, smile politely, and pull a trigger.
And at this point in their relationship, Fadel's understanding of Style is that he's... well, kind of innocent. Especially in comparison to Fadel and Bison, and even Kant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Style, who easily reveals facts about his life which Fadel already knows (winning a car tuning competition), making Fadel doubt his own instincts about Style hiding secrets. Style, who also reveals the things Fadel doesn't know, like the tender and secret pain of a mother lost to cancer (which, now that I think about it, Fadel may also know) and his worries about a father who "lost his bearings for a bit" (which he probably doesn't). Style, who tries to comfort Fadel in his own loss by offering a safe space and a sympathetic ear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Style, who doesn't just see Fadel for his tragedy, but is asking to be given the chance to accept all of Fadel as a person. Style, who not only wants but has the capacity, to be the only person Fadel needs to rely on. Style who, despite the sea of differences between them, understands Fadel on a level that is so very foundational.
Tumblr media
I'm going to slightly segue and mention something that may not resonate with everyone, but really hit me in the gut this episode: because I lost my father when I was 16 after he battled cancer for 2 painful years. And this revelation about Style has totally shifted and coloured everything Style has done in a new light for me. Because not only does this totally explain Style's sometimes almost stubbornly childish demeanour (it's common in adults who've had to 'grow up' too early), but also why Style shows seemingly random flashes of insight and maturity when they are most crucial. Notably, Style has this almost instinctive sense of when he needs to back off a sore point with Fadel that I couldn't quite put my finger on until this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've seen a few jokes about Style's awkward subject change, but I've actually got a friend who I hold very dear to my heart who was one of the only people to give me a sense of normalcy and comfort when my dad was on his last few days and then at his funeral. And part of that was the instinctive way she would know when I needed to just. Not be a grieving daughter for a few minutes. To get a small respite from the overwhelming hopelessness and sense of impending loss. To get a moment to breathe and gather my strength, because knowing I was never going to see my dad again, or hear his voice, or hold his hand was tearing me apart back then. Sometimes she'd talk to me about college drama, sometimes she'd introduce a new kpop video to me, sometimes she'd just ask me what I wanted to eat and take me to go have a meal with her. And sometimes there really just isn't anything else to say other than "I'm sorry." Nothing you say - nothing you can say - is going to ever, ever make this grief go away, and in most cases, it was better when people (especially those who couldn't really understand) didn't try.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I think if you look at Fadel very closely, there's a moment of genuine surprise (Fadel wasn't expecting the subject change at all) and then... something that looks like fondness mixed with exhausted relief. Because I don't think Fadel was ready to talk about his parents yet. This was honesty he wasn't ready to give Style, mostly prompted because Style himself had willingly been so vulnerable that a part of Fadel wanted to reciprocate. But further down that path lies not only his darkest memories, but also the connection to the part of his life he is not willing to share with Style yet. So this subject change is a relief, it's a blessing, but it's also Style knowing when he shouldn't push any further with Fadel's fragile heart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which brings me back to how well the episode's theme of trust (both deserved and undeserved) was woven in this episode. This is true on multiple levels and characters but I'm not even going to attempt to touch Kant in this post because... Lord, that is beyond me at the moment. Someone else needs to do that, pretty please, so I can reblog it and scream.
It starts, somewhat unexpectedly, with Fadel asking for entrance into the intimate spaces of Style's life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, this episode was not about Fadel's fear of his own feelings, desires, or even affection for Style - that appears to be fully addressed in episode 4. I think that's why we see Fadel be so physically affectionate and indulgent of Style in this episode. He's come to terms with his lust for Style's body (hence his comfort in initiating sex), he's accepted Style as his boyfriend and so can enjoy Style's playful teasing (still reluctantly, but Fadel is still an introvert even if he's mostly enjoying Style's rambunctious nature), and give into Style's (and Bison's and Kant's) cajoling with relatively little fuss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's even comfortable toying with the edges of revealing his darker and more sinister side by reminding Style implicitly about how violent Fadel has the potential to be. Recall that Fadel knows Style knows some of his capacity for violence; he just doesn't know how very thoroughly Style is aware of the full scale of this truth. It does help that Style evidences no actual fear and, in fact, looks positively euphoric. Like, buddy, pal, dearest one... please control yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And yet something very, very telling is the way the show makes it a point to depict Fadel very deliberately getting drunk during the double date. Even before the date has started, Fadel looks to be about half a beer in and we see him constantly drinking, drinking, drinking during the whole date. From the conversation about trust he has with Style while Kant and Bison are being off key and adorable about it, to after Kant leaves and Bison gets worried. And we've seen Fadel cope with emotional and mental distress with alcohol before, so we know that Fadel is internally fighting some kind of very intense battle even as he is also very clearly enjoying moments with Style on this date (most notably when they're dancing by the bowling lanes and when Style asks him to go home with him).
So here's my take: rather than being about love, this is about Fadel fighting to hold onto his own philosophy on relationships and trust. Because as much as I do believe Fadel believes he's telling the truth when he tells Style that 100% trust is "impossible", I think it's clear that's not what he wants.
Tumblr media
What he wants is to finish this last job so that the only thing he can't be honest about with Style will finally stop being a factor in his life. What he wants is to fully and completely reciprocate the openness Style seems to be giving Fadel. What he wants is to switch off his brain and let his heart lead for once, to stop fighting a battle he has no desire to win anymore, only he can't. Trust (not love) is Fadel's final frontier, and one which he can't quite give up in spite of himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which is why I think Fadel intentionally gets himself drunk here. Because he wants to let his guard down around Style. He wants to open himself fully, he wants to "lay himself bare" for Style, he wants Style to know the full truth and accept him anyway - and he gets so close, but can't quite get there - because he doesn't know that Style already has.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Style says this, Fadel thinks it's empty words, not knowing that Style has long passed the bar Fadel thinks is insurmountable. And just like Style was able to offer safety and reassurance to the vulnerability Fadel was showing in episode 4, Style instinctively gets to the core of Fadel's darkest fears again:
Style: One day, I'll be your 100%.
This isn't (just) a promise that Style will wear Fadel's stubbornness down, or that Style will be worthy of Fadel's 100% (which, already, has me in tears, ngl). Beyond that, this is Style promising Fadel isn't ruined for this; that it isn't too late, that whatever hurts and wounds Fadel has can be made whole again. That the kind of honest and all-encompassing and unconditional trust which Fadel says is impossible can, in fact, be his. That Fadel still has the capacity to trust and be trusted the way he so desperately, painfully longs for.
I know a lot of people have said Style in this episode is writing cheques he has no ability to honour, but I think it's more layered than that. Because in a very significant and profound way, Style is wholly deserving of Fadel's trust. Because in all the ways that Fadel has ever known he should want, Style actually IS worthy of his trust. Style knows the truth Fadel is hiding, knows what this man is capable of, knows the danger of being in his arms, knows the likely nonexistent future Fadel has to offer him -- and wants him anyway. Style is a man who would stare into Fadel’s darkness and reach out first. Strip away the complication of Kant being blackmailed and dragging Style into his mission, and Style is literally perfect for Fadel. He is exactly what Fadel wants (and possibly has wanted for a very long time). He is, in fact, exactly what Fadel needs to ever experience anything beyond the shadow of a life he's had so far.
Tumblr media
But oh, the cruel narrative means that Style is also, simultaneously, painfully undeserving of Fadel's trust; and this is something Style is very much aware of. I think that's why he's trying so very hard to be worthy in all the other ways he can be. Style's awareness of what Fadel is hiding enables Style to (counterintuitively) be completely honest about his feelings for and about Fadel even as he cannot reveal his motivations. So he gives Fadel as much honesty as he can: offers the vulnerability of his own pain and hurts; the comfort of his true understanding and acceptance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And just as Fadel's vulnerability in the abandoned factory was met with Style choosing a form of physical connection that prioritised Fadel's pleasure (it's made very clear that Style is jerking Fadel off and that all his focus in that moment was on Fadel, not his own pleasure), so too is this moment met with Style very intentionally choosing to worship Fadel's body with all the tenderness and genuine emotional weight that Style wanted Fadel to have in their first time in the storeroom.
Because, crucially, this was Style giving Fadel the chance to lay himself at least physically bare. This is the closest either of them can get to full honesty with the secrets they both are keeping. It's why Style tries so very hard to show the care and adoration and genuine feelings he has for Fadel. Why he makes sure that the vulnerability of Fadel getting himself as drunk and as relaxed and as trusting as Fadel can allow himself to be is tied only to gentleness and tenderness and pleasure.
Because Style actually knows that Fadel can't (and shouldn't) trust him in the way Fadel truly wishes to.
Tumblr media
And as much as I believe that Style genuinely means this from the bottom of his heart, the horrifying full truth is that it is Style that has the metaphorical knife hovering over Fadel's chest. He is the one with the capacity to actually give Fadel a new scar that would truly matter. He is, in fact, the only one Fadel wants to fully trust -- and this, along with Style's compromised heart, makes it so that the circumstances will doom them both.

“you are home sweetie.”
you dont know why but that made it all ache even worse. made it ache worse than when he put the collar around your neck - than when he forced you to sit on his lap and drink whatever roofie he had mixed. the tears came out harder as you laid on the floor by his feet.
simon’s shoulders relaxed a little at this. his rough hand came up and started to brush up and down your back. feeling the ridges of your spine that were a little more prominent as the weeks had passed. his hands working in an attempt to comfort you instead of grabbing you.
“theres no need to cry. i’ve kept you for a reason. its not like i’m going to kill you.”
heart picking up, he could see the shift in your demeanor. how you were teetering between that docility and the true emotions you wanted to let out. he knew he won when he heard the shakiness in your voice. “what’s that supposed to mean?” your lips spoke. even if your words held threat, he knew he was on the right path with the way you pulled your tone.
his dense fingers continued to move up and down your spine, giving gentle and methodical touches as they went. his face held no expression. “it means you have the privilege of being mine. you should be grateful.”
your skin shivered and created goosebumps at his touch. not sure how to react to it. it was all so scary. you didnt know what to say back. how were you supposed to feel grateful in a moment like this? he took you from your life.
simon had to figure this out. he had to figure out how to get you to crack. to crave him and yearn for him. looking at him like he was a protector. because whether you saw it that way or not, he was. he is your protector.
he wanted nothing more than to have you give in. to stop struggling and start asking him to hold you. to start seeing him as a sanctuary, a safe place to come home to.
his hand finally stopped those gentle movements he used to draw you in. those fingers coming around to the side of your face. cupping the length of your jaw and turning your head to look at him. your heart and mind are completely tense and rigid, but your body shows no resistance to him. obedience could be led by a hair.
“say thank you.”
your eyes struggled to meet his. but when he gave a warning tap to your cheek, your pupils full of fear and exhaustion, looked up into his. he looked calm, at peace. “why should i tell you thank you?” you breathed out shakily and quiet.
those fingers adjusted the grip on your face, feeling the warm skin heat his cold fingers. his eyes narrowed, cold and callous. deep, dark, and genuinely never ending. not being able to see where his pupils started or stopped. to you, he always looked like a predator that was completely dilated. you were the little bunny for dinner.
“because i say so. youre mine now, remember that, puppy. be thankful im keeping you instead of selling you to the highest bidder. do you understand me?”
your lips twitched and a small gasp threatened to escape. but all that came out was a small shudder. your eyes were still stuck on his. he was being serious, you could tell. “y-you’d sell me?”
god he loved that voice. simon could’ve groaned at that little whimper in your voice. such a timid little pet.
his grip loosened a little bit as his hand moved to caress your cheek. his touch caring and kind, a complete contrast of his words. he sighed. “only when you piss me off enough to do so. im not in the market of pawning the things i claim, unless they're really ungrateful,” his eyes narrowed again, “are you ungrateful sweetheart?”
simon’s eyes watched your face. watched how you processed everything. how you took it all in. he knew you understood he was being genuine. he was serious enough to actually kidnap you, of course he would be insane enough to sell you. his hand continued to caress your soft skin. he was waiting for your answer.
that expression of his changing from cold and callous to a hint of annoyance. he was starting to get impatient - the answer wasn’t that complicated.
“i said, are you ungrateful?” he asked again.
the frustrated grip and raised voice snapped you back into reality. simon saw the way your eyes focused back onto what was in front of you. “no! no . . . im not ungrateful.” you quickly spoke back. you didn't want to be here, but you’d rather be here than some beaten down warehouse that was turned into a human auction house.
feeling his hand drop from your jaw, release that tight grip - his demeanor shifting of that into a carer again. a satisfied smirk appeared on his cracked lips. his fingers brushing back some of your hair.
“then you should say thank you, puppy. because you have a lot to be thankful for.” he spoke in a much calmer tone.
those eyes boring into you felt like they were starting to burn your skin. “thank you.” your voice is timid and quiet, speaking out of fear. the smirk on his lips grew into a bit of a smile at your response. “see? that wasn't so hard was it sweetie?” he teased a bit, his thumb moving to your bottom lip. rubbing against it and slightly pushing down to examine the pink skin.

days have passed.
simon hadn’t softened any. it's been two weeks of gruff and agitated energy surrounding you. but today for some reason he seemed to be in an even worse mood. his voice louder and more rigid. those occasional sweet touches he gave were nowhere to be found. he was on edge, it was written all over him, in everything he did. his eyes cold and narrowed at everything, his voice snapping at any word spoken to him. he was pissed, and for no good reason at that.
you seemed to try and figure it out. there were bags under his eyes. he looked exhausted. you both were. it almost was like a standoff between two enemies. constantly. you were on edge, still and taking in his every breath. analyzing the tone of it and the deeper meaning of all his words. hoping to not anger him.
simon hasn’t been able to sleep since you arrived - and the only thing his body seemed to want, was you. tense muscles and breaths that were slicing the air he stepped in front of.
you sat on the floor of his living room. watching him pace around like a caged animal. he was acting like a damn rabid dog. he kept you right on the brink of decent. thrown into a pair of his boxers and one of his old long sleeve military shirts. that black leather collar still rubbing against the soft skin of your neck. the long leash cording down and around your body like a snake.
thankfully, he had been a little more lenient with keeping the leash so closely attached to his hand, but that didn't mean he would take it off.
this was frustrating. you were frustrating him. those sweet innocent eyes that were looking up at him like he was a monster. that angered him. he was your savior. my god he was saving you from all those awful sins the world harvested. a groan crawled its way up and out of his throat, stopping his pacing movements.
“come here.” he stated. not like a request. just a command. like you were his dog.
the brain in your head was working on primal intuition. when you are put into a scary situation, your body will do whatever it needs to to survive. so your eyes fluttered up to his face and then back down to his neck. it was scary looking him in the eye, you don't look rabid dogs in the eye. you don't look simon riley in the eye.
feeling the leash clank against your skin as your legs twitched to help you stand. they were getting weaker. your body was starting to reject what was happening to it.
he raised his hand and pointed to the floor in front of him. “no. not like that. crawl to me. you don’t deserve to walk on those legs of yours.”
his voice rang into your ears like how baby bunnies would react to hearing thunder for the first time. paralyzed and frozen in fear with eyes that looked up into the clouds with a sense of caution and longing that the sky wouldn’t do that again - naive hope that the universe would apologize for its outburst of anger.
but just as your body was frozen, the flash of lightning came, accompanying the thunder.
simon’s hand came out, wrapped tightly around the leash and pulled you down to the ground. the yanking of the leather forced you to your hands and knees. your eyes looking up to him - that baby bunny praying to the sky - looking up into those deep and irritated eyes. he was above you, even when he was crouching down the height difference was still prominent. creating a never ending power dynamic that shivered your soul.
he was stressed, he was angry, he felt sleep deprived. he was always watching over you. always making sure you were still here, he needed to put this outlet to good use right now. so on edge that even the small things like how the coffee table looked was making him mad right now. he needed to let off steam. something - someone to give into.
his feet planted themselves onto the ground in front of you. his hand coming to the top of your head, grabbing a fist full of your hair as he lowered himself to your level. you gasped at the sudden contact. shaking and soft hands gripping onto his forearm. your scalp starting to burn from his angered grip. he crouched down, his breath against your neck.
“you make me so goddamn frustrated.”
little frantic breaths picking up and making you panic more. “i-i didn't do anything?” your brows furrowed into a pathetic and worried curve. his lips moved closer to your ear, his fingers tightening around your hair. “you're making me on edge, and it's driving me up a wall.” he spoke.
your eyelids blinked in confusion. then why am i here? why is he keeping me here? just let me go!
“then why am i still here?” you breathed out, quiet and docile.
those cracked lips of his moved from your ear to your neck. they gently nipped at the skin before he spoke again. “because i don't want to get rid of you. you may be a pain in the ass, but i need you.” his mouth started to tenderly press and nip at your neck. leaving sticky open mouth kisses.
your body stiffened. but he had been so rough and sharp the last couple days, you hated to admit the sweet and gentle touches almost felt welcomed. it was better than him hitting you and tying you to a pole in the basement. simon’s voice wasn't as icy as before his commands. your soft hair in his fingers and the warm feeling of your skin against his lips helped calm his aggravated mood. it was like the perfect dosage of oxycodone. calming and relaxing him just enough to barely blink his eyes all the way closed. just enough to get him to not be so pent up about tomorrow's worries.
you started to feel safer almost. in this moment in time, it could’ve been worse.
“why?” you spoke after a couple seconds of silence.
“why what?” simon asked in between sucking on your neck. one of his hands pulled your hair a little bit again, forcing your head up towards the ceiling. he needed more of this soft warmth. “why don't i want to get rid of you, or why do i need you?” his teeth gently nipping into the side of your neck and making a small mark. chuckling to himself when he had to pull the collar out of the way so he could really get to the spot he wanted.
“both.”
it wasn't often he talked to you like that. wasn't often he treated you as human. so you took the wins where you could. letting his warm lips and teeth move against your body. trying to keep your voice steady. it was like walking on a frozen lake where you weren’t sure how thick the ice was.
he continued suck and bite at your neck, making sure the area was nice and bruised - marked as his.
“because you make me feel something i haven't felt in a long time, puppy. and because you’re mine. and i don't like to share my things. especially the ones i worked so hard to get.”
a soft wince escaped your lips when his teeth bit a little harder. his lips pulled away, giving a gentle kiss to the spot. you could’ve sworn you felt his thumb caress the hair his hand was so tightly holding. it was sweet. it was affectionate. and he was having an actual conversation with you. not lashing out and teasing, mocking or degrading.
this was new. this was human. one of your hands going to his chest, resting there as if you were asking him to be more gentle. his body shivered at that strange acceptance from you.“why me?” you said softly, asking the question you had been wondering.
the unfamiliar and strange energy between you two was making simon happy. very happy. all those times he was angry and awful to you just made his soft touches so featherlight and desirable. it was making him relax. his teeth let go of the spot on your neck, his tongue gently soothing over it.
after he made sure the spot would leave a deep bruise, he pulled back a little. his eyes looking down at you on the floor, gazing up at him. it warmed his heart and made him smile a little. even he thought about your question for a second. he sighed, and then answered. “you just are. you were sitting in that little library just . . . existing . . and i felt something inside of me break. that was it. you were mine. you still are and forever will be. this is where you belong and i hope you come to accept that, my puppy.”
your eyes looked into his. your neck started to ache from how he was angling your head back. but there was a sense of hope in your eyes. hope that he was human, he was showing you he was human - for a moment if you could pretend the leash wasn't around your neck, this would almost feel normal.
you licked your dry lips, always so cracked now from breathing and panting through your mouth. the seasons cold weather nipping in through the windows . . . but its alright . . he never let you get too close to those anyway.
simon could sense the fear in your breath. the shudders past your pretty lips. those little flutters of caution your eyelashes would blink. this was working perfectly in his favor. if he was brutal six out of seven days, your body would learn to crave that seventh day. it would learn to want him and need him to survive.
in the same sense of how people needed religion. they need faith in something to keep going. one way or another, he was going to figure out how to be your faith.
his gaze softened. his hand letting go of your hair, coming to gently brush against your face, a thumb running over your cheek.
“i know i make you afraid, but thats okay. you wont be afraid forever.” his face came down to lean close to yours, his voice a low tone. “you’ll get used to it. you’ll get used to me.”
even a dog held in captivity for years would still yearn for a soft pet, a good treat the second the opportunity was given.
   . ⋆ ✴︎ ݁ ˖ ˚ .𖥔 ݁ ˖ .
it was the next day and you both had gone through the motions of what a normal day was so far. he woke you up early, because he got up early and he needed you to constantly be at his side. he of course had you in a little dog cage when it was bedtime. or anytime he had to go out, which wasn’t often.
a metal dog cage with plush little pink blankets and frills, that attempted to make it more welcoming, adorning it. he always kept two locks on the metal links off the door - so you would never be able to get it undone yourself. but even if you did, he kept it all located in his basement. the only thing down there being your cage and a couple storage bins.
simon knew what he was doing. of course he did. he had been plotting this for months. since the second he saw you and that air was sucked out of his chest he’s been preparing.
in all honesty, you looked forward to bedtime. you were finally left alone to have some thoughts to yourself. and it’s not like it was pitch black down there. he didn’t leave the light on, but the outside lights from the backyard somewhat illuminated the basement.
you were asleep up on the plush mat, a warm fleece blanket wrapping around your cold frame. legs curled up since you couldn’t stretch your legs in the cage.
“good morning puppy,” he calls down the basement stairs. turning on the light and finally getting you out of the dark.
your eyes blinking awake in the harsh light. hearing his footsteps come down the stairs and a few keys rattling. he chuckled when he saw your head bump up against the top of the cage.
“did you sleep well, my dear?” he asked, those dark eyes looking over your form before he crouched down to unlock the padlocks on the cage.
you were tired, mornings were never your thing, especially not with how early he got up. your messy hair nodding along with your head as you gave him a simple answer. cold hands rubbing your tired eyes.
“we’ve got a big day today . . .” simon started while opening the metal door. your ears perked up at his words, sleepy eyes blinking awake and a soft grumble from your lips as he pulled on the leash, getting you out of the cage and into his lap.
“you’re gonna meet some of daddy’s friends today . . . and i trust you’ll be a very good puppy, right?”

Just gonna point out here (targeted in the direction of anyone calling the CEO shooter a terrorist) that this constant slapping of 'terrorism' on shit that isn't by people in power who want to delegitimise acts of measured violence against specific people in power who actively caused the suffering and death this was about are making people stop treating that term seriously and I think that's a really big problem.
Nobody else died. Whoever did definitely kill the CEO didn't blow up an entire building to get to one guy. He didn't do a mass shooting of the building to get to the one guy. He didn't target random civillians and hold them hostage and sexually assault and slaughter them while planning killing as many people as possible regardless of what they've done or not done as individuals. He didn't attack a concert to get one guy. His only political statement with the murder was 'these people have been murdering us in the tens of thousands for decades and it's time they understood we've had enough through the only language they seem to understand because they ignored us when we were talking peacefully and went on killing us anyway because due process was never going to stop them when they have the game rigged in their favour.' And he made sure only the person responsible for these acts of horrific fatal negligence against innocent people was the one who died and no one else. That's not terrorism. At most it's assassination and we can argue about whether or not that's a helpful mindset to be accepting in the long term as much as people like but for fuck's sake people HAVE TO STOP labelling shit terrorism that isn't. It's watering the term down and people who are rightfully angry at being shut down at every turn when they do things that can't be swept under the rug (which applies to all kinds of non-fatal activism so don't come at me on that) are starting to ignore actual terrorism when it happens because their experience is that anyone using that word is just trying to remove the last shred of power a group has to stand up to their oppressors.
Do we have to just also make sure we consciously don't let ourselves redefine that term in either direction? Yes. But it's a two way street and everyone else misusing that word in the first place need to meet us in the middle in not waving it around slapping anyone and any activism they're made uncomfortable by like it's a wet noodle regardless of what the people they're slapping are ACTUALLY doing or not doing.
If we decide terrorism is bad (and obviously actual terrorism genuinely is!!), and then decide anything involving any form of violent resistance in the face of increasingly violent oppression is now terrorism, what kind of message do we send to all the people who are basically being told they're not allowed to resist that oppression now even if the situation isn't changing enough from the peaceful measures because every time they come with an olive branch they're met by a policeman/soldier's baton/tear gas/taser or even bullet?
The longer we go without listening to people when they ARE talking, and shutting down all other avenues to reach change except for the violence we also condemn as blanketly wrong regardless of circumstance, the more enraged and violent those people will get. It's basic psychology and easy enough for people not experiencing that inescapable oppression to say kindergarten level shit like 'violence is bad; killing is wrong.' If someone tries to kill you in the street and necessary escalation to stop them results in their dying, is that wrong? But they were trying to kill you. Were you supposed to limit yourself and increase your chances of death because they had a family? What about your family?
There have to be nuances to this because the world is more complicated than the play room where all the toddlers who can't handle that nuance are. Little Tommy isn't stopping little Johnny from talking to him because he doesn't have that kind of power. An adult can step in and resolve the child-level issue and make Tommy listen to Johnny and teach them to handle conflict peacefully and respectfully.
That doesn't apply to the adult-level capitalist world where money over millions of people's lives is the norm and intricately rigged and enforced so it never changes through peaceful resolution (we can keep chipping away and we do make things more bearable than the rich people want to give us, but it's a constant and exhausting battle while in the meantime everyone we love is either dead, dying or at risk of dying around us every day this goes without being properly fixed). In a world where a homeless man can be murdered in cold blood on a subway train after the attack stopped, but a CEO who has killed a horrific number of people in cold blood himself gets shot and his killer made an example of to the angry populace who see this discrepancy and understand that the powerful are only trying to maintain their status quo, there is only so much saying "Please pretty please stop killing us. We're human beings. We've justified to you over and over again why what you're doing is wrong and you still kill us with no consequences and no end in sight but maybe if we just keep talking and expecting a different result it'll happen" can do to stop the status quo that is constantly being propped up by corporate and governmental interests.
No one actually wants to be in a civil war. Most of us don't want to kill people. Bringing the rich and powerful who have killed so many to justice through due process and a proper trial is always going to be better and healthier for our society than walking up to them and shooting them.
But if you give people no other choice because you will never see that proper trial by your own design...
What else are those suffering and dying meant to do? Just keep suffering and dying quietly? Accept this constant violence toward them only to have their desperate violence called unacceptable and wrong and terrorism while yours is quietly swept under the rug?
Never target innocents. Never try to wipe out an entire group of people for the actions of a few. That IS terrorism and unjust and unacceptable because it's unnecessary force against random innocent people. But if the few who are doing those horrific actions aren't being stopped by normal societal methods of dealing with them peacefully and they continue shutting down every avenue you try to take to make them face justice non-violently and you actively make sure only to target them that's not terrorism. That's being pushed to the brink and finally breaking the way everyone will eventually under that type of oppressive violence and then making sure only the people actually committing that violence against you receive violence in return. That's self defence.
This literally is the only course left in a truly dystopian system where there truly is no end in sight except through making it clear people can't take it anymore, because they don't let people express that peacefully either. What else are those people supposed to do when you will never go to trial and ALSO refuse to let due process and proper trials happen to those you want silenced?
Terrorism stopped sounding like a bad thing to us when people made it mean anything they didn't like. And that's seriously fucked up because actual terrorism where people are targeted indiscriminately for a political or religious statement really is wrong and fucked up and unnecessary and has to stop. It's never necessary to do that even if it's about fighting the status quo and increasingly violent oppression. You can do that without killing or even risking innocents. The guy who shot the CEO proved that. There's a middle line to walk here and we have to make sure we don't let people flopping labels around like wet noodles make us think that terrorism is just ok now because it's been applied so frequently to defence of the public both violent and peaceful in a system where they shut down all other methods of change they would have to listen to otherwise.
And the people treating it like a wet noodle only to go on to committing acts of violence and aggression to terrorise the public with no repercussions themselves have to stop doing all of that and all the shit this is about in the first place. We know what the authorities are doing with this public spectacle and all it's doing is making people angrier and happier to commit more violence. This is how you get more and actual terrorism, not less of it, because people with less care for those nuances are going to see you doing this shit and decide that makes it necessary to expand the crosshairs. (Again, people need to know the difference and choose not to do that; but you know these assholes will jump on that the second it happens to lend credence to their decrying of genuinely necessary and properly measured violence against them to stop their constant unrelenting oppressive violence against everyone else. And then all the bootlickers who have not yet experienced the leopards eating their faces will tut tut and decry everything too in support of the leopards all while those leopards are eyeing up their faces next.)
Honestly I'm pretty sure the Redcoats would have called the Americans fighting for their freedom 'terrorists' during the American Revolution if that had been something they could use to delegitimise the Americans' cause in the public eye. It would be interesting to see what they did say instead because it's unfortunately a very effective tactic people in oppressive power over others use all the time now. I wonder if people used to fall for it as badly back then too as they do in the modern era.
"I’m very concerned about my client’s right to a fair trial in this case.  He’s being prejudiced by some statements that are being made by government officials. Like every other defendant, he’s entitled to a presumption of innocence. But unfortunately the way this has been handled so far his rights are being violated. And as you know, Your Honor, there’s a wealth of case law guaranteeing his rights to a fair trial, but none of the safeguards have been put in place yet here — in fact it’s just the opposite of what’s been happening.
He’s a young man, and he is being treated like a human pingpong ball between two warring jurisdictions here.
These federal and state prosecutors are coordinating with one another at the expense of him. They have conflicting theories in their indictment, and they are literally treating him like he is some sort of political fodder, like some sort of spectacle.
He was on display for everyone to see in the biggest staged perp walk I’ve ever seen in my career. It was absolutely unnecessary. He’s been cooperative with law enforcement. He’d been in custody for over a week. He waived extradition. He was cooperative at all accounts. There was no reason for the NYPD and everybody to have these big assault rifles — that frankly I had no idea it was in their arsenal — and to have all the press there the media there. It was perfectly choreographed.
And what was the New York City Mayor doing at this press conference, Your Honor? That just made it utterly political. And as your honor knows under Loro v. Charles, the Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit has held it to be clearly established that these staged perp walks to the media unrelated to a legitimate law enforcement objective is unconstitutional. And I submit that there was zero law enforcement objective to do that sort of perp walk. There’s absolutely no need for that whatsoever.
And frankly, Your Honor, the mayor should know more than anyone about the presumption of innocence that he, too, is afforded dealing with his own issues. And, frankly, I submit that he was just trying to detract from those issues by making a spectacle of Mr. Mangione.
And there are consequences to this.
He has a right to a fair trial. And I just want to put on the record statements that the mayor made publicly about my client. Nothing saying “alleged” for example. And he said “I wanted to send a strong message with the police commissioner that we’re leading from the front. I’m not just going to allow him to come into our city. I wanted to look him in the eye and state ‘You carried out this terrorist act in my city, the city of New York that I love.’” And he wanted to show symbolism.
Your Honor, he’s not a symbol. He’s somebody who is afforded the right to a fair trial. He’s innocent until proven guilty. And the mayor was talking to jurors — future potential jurors that elected him. Those are the people that elected him that he is talking to and calling this man a terrorist.
So, Your Honor, I just want to make a record of this and put everyone on notice that this has to stop, and my client is entitled to a fair trial and the presumption of innocence."

Shimmer Head
Ekko x reader
6k+ words
Fem reeader
Hazbin hotel Easter egg included. Addicted song describes reader.
Warning: suicidal thoughts and actions, drug use not by choice though.
Im sorry it took so long yall I’ve been crocheting blankets for Christmas and life has been lifting with work
You were an anomaly, or at least that’s what Silco called you. Apparently he saved you at birth; one calm walk through Zaun's lanes, and your mom was an overdosing shimmer head who was getting her last fix before she pushed you out. You survived. This was something Silco never thought possible; even when you looked like a shivering, whining skeleton, you were strong, a survivor, and from that day on, you were his daughter.
As life went on, you got stronger, faster, and a little more insane; your eyes changed, looking like a wild mix of two different colors. You changed so much it confused you every day to see yourself. How the voices in your head would go from telling you to slaughter everyone to offing yourself.
Silco had you microdosed with shimmer ever since you were a newborn till now, and you handled it each and every time. You were his creation, his wild card. Even as a child, he had you by his side with torture, robbing, and meetings. You’ve done it all. There were days the voices really did get to you; sometimes it was better to hurt yourself rather than to crash. You can remember the times Silco had to stop you from hurting him and yourself. The scars on your arms, the bloodstains left on your clothes, the burn scars from throwing bone down without any care, ready to give it all up. Either you survived, or Silco was just in time.
So when you first met Jinx, your first thoughts were, This poor kid, she’s just a dreamer.
But she followed you around everywhere, calling you sis, saying she’d never leave your side, she’d never leave you no matter what. Not like her sister did. You didn’t believe her; how could you? No one but Silco ever saw you; he’s the only one that loved you.
Until she followed you to a club one night.
You spin around in the chair, listening to the grungy punk music, drunk, horny prowlers, angry wannabes, and goofy dancers mixing into the crowd. You sit in your chair in the corner of the club, drink in one hand, revolver in the other. One bullet, one drink—it was all a game to you. The gun clicked three times, and you took three shots before it was snatched from your hand. And lo and behold, it was your new shadow coming to ruin the fun.
“Hey, what gives, Blue Jay!”
“How are you going to be the big shot legacy Silco says if you're dead, dumbass!”
“It’s none of your business!”
“We’re family now, so yeah, you are!”
“You going to love me even if I try to kill Silco in his sleep?”
“I’d still love you even if you killed me with him.”
Family, huh?
“Fine.”
For the first time you didn’t take your game too far, or get fucked up and pass out behind the bar; you didn’t even have a mental breakdown.
At least the voices got quiet for a while.
After a while you started to think of Jinx as a sister. Someone you could confide in, someone who gets you. Was Silco the best dad? Nah, but he was all you had. Now you know he had Jinx too. You thought everything was ok; you could be happy with your found family; even if you were broken, you still had people to fix you up, so everything was fine.
At least you genuinely believed everything was alright.
Until Jinx’s actual sister showed up, calling her Powder, the hugging, the crying, the family reunion was cute. You haven’t seen Jinx this vulnerable in a while. Everything was calm until some Piltie came out, and then the moment was gone. Jinx threatens the redhead with the gun, and boom, the Firelights had you all surrounded.
“Jinx, if you want your sister back, you gotta be smart about this.” The silence you got back let her know she was thinking up something stupid.
Smoke and ash covered the air, bullets flying and fighting at every turn. The firebugs just didn’t know when to quit, always trying to get into business that isn’t theirs. It was fun knocking them off their boards every once in a while. You’ve faced them before with Jinx killed a couple of times; you didn’t kill any of them, though. Never had the guts to really kill innocent people; you didn’t want to know what the voices would say if you did. You didn’t want to lose yourself all the way.
As always, Jinx is shooting bullets every which way in the sky, which wasn’t bad, but using bombs to blow up the platform is very bad. Your body hurt, your ears were ringing, and you could barely breathe. You tried calling out for Jinx but got no answer. You finally dragged yourself up; you can see some fire bugs down, but you couldn’t see Jinx. Couldn’t see her sister. Didn’t even see the body lying dead somewhere.
Huh, you were all alone.
Then it dawned on you: Jinx did it on purpose. She really was a genius, truly. She blew up the platform, making a distraction; a lot of people were down and out. Nobody could see what was happening; some too injured to chase.
Looks like she could only carry her sister to safety, though.
You’ll never leave me no matter what, huh?
Hehehehehe, yeah right!
You could finally breathe again and got the strength to stand up. It was all just so funny, really.
Bunch of bullshit hahahahaha
You didn’t notice anything going on around you, the shuffling of people standing; you didn’t feel all the cautious eyes on you. Not that you cared; all you cared about were the voices screaming at you so loud you could swear your ears were bleeding.
Walking towards the edge of the platform is easy. Turning around and giving a mock salute to the firelights with a smile on your face was easy. But dropping to your death knowing the last thing playing in your headphones was your and Jinx's song, it fucking burned every lyric you tried to sing just turned to ash in your mouth.
But at least now the voices would stop forever. The air rushed through your ears and then nothing.
Out like a light
You woke up in an eerily dark room; honestly, it was predictable. Down to the moldy smell, the silence, and the creepy guy in the corner with a mask. And you honestly should’ve been more mad at yourself for getting saved; you couldn’t even die in peace!
“Why am I alive, dammit!”
The silence was so annoying; there’s no need to try and be intimidating. You’ve seen worse. You hate people who try those tactics; you can’t torture someone who’s already tortured every day. Geez, just kill them if they don’t tell you what you want.
“Look, I’m not going to tell you shit, so just kill me already!”
And then the mask comes off. You don’t know him, but you knew him, apparently jinx’s past. The boy savior, she calls him; he looks just like she said he would. You also remember what she told you about him. “Better watch out; the boy savior likes to think he can save everybody.”
Ok, you can deal with a wannabe hero.
“Your on shimmer. You are an addict; Slico has you do his dirty work, and he gives you your next fix. Am I right?”
You’re really fucking wrong. Scratch that; you didn’t want to deal with the wannabe hero.
“So how about you tell me what I need to know, and you get to lay low somewhere secret and get off that shit before you try and die again while Silco just replaces you?”
The voices started to get louder, your throat tight and blood dripping from your palms for how tight you started to squeeze them. His words were like acid on your skin. Just who did this asshole think he was?
“First of all, dipshit, I’m his daughter! Ok, not some random street rat shimmer head he feeds. Second of all, shimmer makes people stronger. I should know; came right out of my druggie mom, still living and breathing, full of shimmer! I’ve been injected with it since Silco adopted me! He says I’m perfect; he says I'm his legacy. I don’t do his dirty work; I help him make Zaun better! So you're dead fucking wrong, wannabe!”
Now he’s looking at you like you’re crazy…. And you're used to that.
“This is better? Our people are dying all around us. Kids are abandoned! People are sick and starving. How is this better?”
“Blame Piltover! Duh!”
“It’s Piltover. And Silco, are you crazy??!!”
That word. It always did something to you. You didn’t care when people looked at you like you were... but calling you crazy? Different story. Something that made all the voices laugh, an itch in your brain that told you to break, hurt, destroy, kill, and show them your insane.
“FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU! Hahahahahahahahaha. All of Piltover and Zaun is going to burn you, and your fucking bugs are going to be ash! I’m not crazy. I’m perfect. I’m perfect he said”—
Your music!?! Where were your headphones?!!?
You were so numb, in a really dark place, you never fully remembered how your episodes went. When that singed guy injected you with your first microdose of shimmer, all you remembered was the screaming and Silco whispering how proud he was. But Ekko would remember it all even in his dreams. How you banged your head against the pole you were tied against over and over again. Crying tears of shimmer while laughing hysterically until blood dripped on the side of your head. Only to end up sobbing.
The voices screamed and screamed and screamed. Until they stopped, they never just stopped without music or silco. And you never had this heavy feeling over your ears without your headphones.
Oh, it’s this Ekko guy. What is he doing? Why is he holding his hands over your face? Why is he looking at you like that?
“I’m sorry. You’re not crazy. I promise, okay? Breath for me nice and slow.”
This was nice: everything quiet, everything nice and warm. This is new, huh?
“Hey!? Wai”—
Out like a light again
“She’s a danger to the base!”
“We can help her. She’s not like Jinx! She’s the product of a bad situation. She’s not with Silco because she wants to be; it’s because it’s all she knows.”
“She’s a mess; keeping her here is like bringing bullshit to our door!”
“He’s been injecting her with shimmer since she was an infant! We can’t kick her out!”
“Can y'all shut up sleeping here?”
Bat Guy and Ekko just stared at you.
“Look, I don’t care what you do to me; can I just have my damn headphones? The voices, ya know, they’re telling me to escape and kill everyone here. Soooooo, my earphones, pretty please.”
The boy wonder hands them over and puts them over your ears. And even with no music playing, everything feels peaceful. The whole time, he and Bat Boy are still going back and forth; this time you couldn’t hear it, though. Finally you get silence, if only for a moment. You almost bit Ekko when he moved one of them back off.
“Look, let’s compromise: you get a little freedom, supervised. And we get one shimmer shipment location… not the factory, just the shipment.”
“No bullshit babysitters; it’s you or nothing.”
“...fine.”
You could’ve told him to fuck off and die. Make him eat his sappy little words. But after the way he held your ears, he looked like a kicked puppy for making you freak out. How softly he said sorry. It was different; it was new. You didn’t do soft, not that much.Silco always told you to play your enemies, so maybe giving a little bait wouldn’t be too bad.
“Fine, boy wonder, I’ll give you a shipment that’s all.”
“Thank you.”
There he goes, looking at you like that again.
Like some kind of puppy. What a sucker.
Ekko took you outside, but you didn’t want to socialize, so he kept you both at a good distance from the others. While taking you out of the base, you didn’t want to look at anyone. If you saw any leering faces and judging eyes, you knew you’d lash out.
Oddly enough, you didn’t want to smack the fuck out of Ekko's face. Maybe a little bit, not a lot. You didn’t know what it was, but Ekko was calming; his presence was like a warmth in the dark murk of Zaun. You didn’t understand how he could be so... normal with all of this around him.
Maybe it was the fact that he actually took you out of the hideout and onto a roof to look over Piltover. You could’ve knocked him out, taken his board, and run. Why is he so stupidly trusting? “How do you do it?” He raises an eyebrow. “Do what?” You raise one back “Be so happy-go-lucky when we live in a place like Zaun.” That made him stop his steps, and he looks serious; you haven’t seen him unless he’s talking about shipments.
“I have to make a change for the people who can’t help themselves; I want to give people something to live for; the firelight is my way of doing that.”
And there he goes again, making your mind feel funny again. It sounds like he means it; everything Ekko says always sounds genuine, but somehow you can’t bring yourself to believe him.
“Alright then, help me by teaching me how to ride one of those hoverboard things.” Ekko’s eyes get wide, and his mouth even opens a little. “You want to learn? I’ve been trying to get you to do that for a week. What changed?” You didn’t want to let him know the real reason, so you decided to play it off.
“Just thought I could kick your butt at something, boy wonder,” he scoffed. You knew he hated the nickname; it was too fun teasing him to stop, though.
“Alright, alright. If you’re so confident, then I’ll teach you. But don’t say I didn’t warn you when you end up falling off a few times.”
“I’ll be a pro; just you wait and see.”
You were in fact not a pro. Your knees were scuffed, and the dirt on your clothes was a testament to just how many times you hit the dirt. “Sorry this is taking so long; I feel fucking stupid.” Ekko grabs your hands and pulls you up, grabbing the board. “Don’t; it takes everyone a minute to learn this is no different. How do you think I feel? I made it; I had to test it and fall a lot.” You give him a nod, deciding to take the board back with a little more confidence this time. “What a boy genius you are,” you got a snort in return.
“Now, remember, hoverboards are pretty sensitive. You have to find your balance and keep it steady. And be careful not to lean too far to one side or the other, or you’ll tip over.” Ekko watches you carefully as you mount the hoverboard, his arms crossed over his chest. The hoverboard begins to move forward as you lean, slowly at first, but steadily gaining speed.
You could hear Ekko yelling behind you, “There you go, you’re doing great! Just keep your balance and focus on the path ahead.”
“What about turns!? What if I fall??”
“Don’t worry; I’ll be right here to catch you if you fall.”
You got the hang of it after a while; you both went back to the base riding your hoverboard and even racing some of the kids. It was a good time, no responsibilities, no expectations. It still hurt you; there was no Silco, but at least you had distractions.
Ekko seemed to show up when he wasn’t asked; it’s like he knew when to butt into people's business.
He was there during your worst moments of loneliness. When the darkness was too much, when the voices kept repeating the insults louder and crueler. Telling you to kill yourself, that you're nothing, worthless, not good enough, burn the firelight base to the ground, and watch everyone around you die. You’ll only end up alone anyway. The smell of ash and blood, you could remember it by heart. Tears pouring out of your eyes continuously, you didn’t even sob. You had nothing to be sad about in the moment. You just naturally cried, and all you could do was scream, hoping I’d stop. Sitting in the dark waiting for it all to end. Thinking, hoping that just maybe one day you’d be blessed enough not to wake up.
It wasn’t until you felt Ekko's heavy gloves on your shoulder. Asking if you were ok, if you needed anything, if you needed him. Looking at you like you're the only thing that mattered in the moment. Moving to sit next to you, his shoulder lightly touching yours. “You don’t have to talk; just know I’m right here with you. I’m not going anywhere.” Those days were hard, but it always felt nice to have Ekko lying on the floor next to you, no words, just his company.
He even let you into his little workshop. His words: “You don’t have to knock. If you need me, just come in” You’d hand him his tools and use all the knowledge you had on tech to help. You used to make a lot of trinkets that helped your day-to-day life. You didn’t like to make weapons like Jinx, but you could make a mean bomb. You’ve even fallen asleep to his tinkering and his little nerd-out moments. “You're such a dork.” He wouldn’t even take his eyes off his invention.
“Shush if you're not going to help.”
“Touchy touchy. Here, let me look, boy genius.” When you actually put in effort to help him, he’d look at you from the side of his eye, and you’d pretend like you didn’t notice the small smile creeping up on his face. Sitting by his side until late at night, making new things to help out in the base. Both your giggles and the metal clanking were the only things heard at 3 am.
And that’s how it was for a month. Ekko is coming in, trying to coax you into giving up Silco; you give him a little info, and he folds and gives you what you want for the day. You had a good thing going. So why’d he want to ruin it now? You were fine seeing the kids; you made small talk with one of the firelight girls, but that’s it. Everyone else you dealt with in passing. So why was Ekko so set on you interacting with more people?
“How about we hang out with the group for a bit?”
“I’m fine; I hate people.”
“Look, I’m just trying to—“
“I don’t need help! I don't need friends! I—I need my dad; I need…. I need to feel in control. It still feels like I’m a fucking prisoner even if you say I’m not.
Ekko doesn’t talk for a minute; you can tell he’s trying to choose his words wisely, his white locs covering his face. “I don’t know what you see in Silco, even if he took you in…. You can’t tell me you truly see the good in what he’s doing.
You didn’t answer him. Afraid you’ll say something you’ll regret by lashing out. He didn’t get it; he didn’t get you! Silco was your dad; Silco helped you ignore the voices; he loved you even if he had a funny way of showing it.
“He’s not the best dad in the world, but he’s my dad. He helped me when I had no one. Doesn’t that count for something?”
Ekko didn’t answer you; it’s like he wanted to argue, but he knew you needed this.
“Just... just give it a chance; you may find your people.”
If he heard your scoff, he didn’t react to it.
I don’t have people; all I have is my dad and myself, even when I don’t love myself.
Ekko’s soft words pulled you out of your thoughts.
“You have me too.”
“Until how long, hmmm, till I run out of information?”
“That’s no—“
“Hey, Ekko, tell me how I survived the day I jumped.”
Ekko went back silent; he was giving you that look again, and you hated it. It’s like he saw everything within you, and it made you feel naked, like you couldn’t hide.
“Oh that… flew down to save you.”
“Why?”
“When you smiled at us before you fell, I thought you were asking for help.”
You giggled at that; only Ekko would think of saving his enemy who tried to off themselves in front of him. “Your something else, Sunflower.”
“Sunflower!? What kind of flower is that? We don’t have those in Zaun.”
“Alright, take me out or whatever it is you want.”
“D-don’t say it like that. Come on, I’ll introduce you to the kids.”
You never knew Zaun could look like this, or even have a tree, and now the name firelights makes sense: nothing but a lush green tree with the fireflies all around it. It’s peaceful, plush; it’s nice. You got a few looks here and there, but it’s fine; ekkos here, and you weren’t forced to hang out with who you didn’t want to.
And that’s how you spent your day bonding with Ekko and even the kids; they weren’t as judgy, and you appreciated it. Even when they had questions, it didn’t feel pointed. “Why do you always wear those things on your head?” your headphones; you never took them off, never could bring yourself to part from the one thing that helps stop the voices, no matter how battered and dingy they are. “They’re headphones. They help me when I’m scared or upset.” “Oooooh, I get it; my mask helps me! Makes me feel stronger!” “Good, use your strength to become the best firelight you can be.”
That’s how the day started and ended: you playing with the kids, running around, playing tag and hide and seek until the night came. The kids gathered around, using common objects around them to make a little band; music brings a lot of the firelights together, and somebody brings an actual scrap-made speaker playing louder music. Some even start to dance. And in this moment you couldn’t help but think maybe Ekko was right; maybe these people were ok.
You grab the overworking leader by the arm and pull him with you. “What is it?”
“Come on, Ekko, let’s dance!”
“Dance?”
“Yeah, you scared boy wonder?“
“Not at all, but um… why?”
“Who doesn’t like dancing!”
That’s when the music hits and nothing else matters. Ekko moves effortlessly, his body flowing in perfect harmony with yours. He keeps you close, his chest pressed against yours as he twirls you around. The world outside seems to fade away, leaving just the two of you in your own little bubble. Your body’s moving in rhythm as the music gets Ekko pulls you closer, one hand resting on your waist while the other takes hold of your hand, spinning you. He begins to sway gently, guiding you in a slow dance. Holding each other’s sides, swaying back and forth. Every minute you got to look in Ekkos's eyes, seeing him smile at you like that did something to you; he really was something else.
You couldn’t let those eyes shake you, though. You knew it was only a matter of time before it all went to hell; no one really gives a damn about you, no one except Silco. But maybe if you were a better daughter, he would’ve found you by now.
Ekko could only look at you in confusion when you walked away from him, away from the gathering. He thought it was a good moment that he was finally getting through to you. But he wasn’t one to push, not when he knew what you’d been through, but he followed you up the stairs to the treehouse.
And when he found you, the silence was heavy but comfortable. That’s how it was with you too, and you’d never say it out loud, but he made you feel safe.
“Do you want to stay here?”
You timidly glanced into his eyes before you took a deep breath. “I don’t know,” you looked away, closing your eyes, trying to stop yourself from getting out of hand. Ekko hummed, leaving more silence in between you both, and then he asked another, “Even if you know Silco loves you, it isn’t healthy.”
You opened your eyes as a bitter taste remained in your mouth. Your face contorted into different expressions as you debated with yourself on whether or not you would share.
“My mother was a shimmer addict; she had me right as she overdosed. And Silco found me; I was different; I survived even with a small, premature body full of shimmer. He said I was unique, that I could change all of Zaun. I believe him. I’ve done a lot of great things… at least I think so. Even if you don’t agree with him, he saved me.
“But you're not okay—
“Don’t tell me what I am! I’m perfect as I am; he said so! I may not be normal, but I am living instead of surviving, Ekko! Can’t you see that?”
“I do. But you know what else I see? I see how happy you are riding your board; I see how sweet you are with the kids, especially when you steal yarn from the top side and crochet stuff for them; I see how you care for Raven when you think she’s not looking by finding her favorite things to surprise her without letting her know it was you; I see how you truly care for the people you're loyal to. You touch people's lives and leave light in your wake. I see how beautiful you are inside and out. You’re your own person, not what Silcos made you! You can do better than what he has you doing.”
“Is that what you’ve come up with in your mind? That I’m just this lost, misguided girl who was groomed to be fucked up? News flash! Boy Wonder, I’m in Zaun. I was going to be fucked up regardless of Silco! Who do you think I am, huh? Don’t act like you know me, 'cause you don’t! Stop trying to change me into something I’m not! I’m not some knockoff version of Jinx you can fix just because I decided to be nice a few times. What?! I’m your little powder passion project. Couldn’t save her, so you’re trying to save me because we both have family, daddy, and abandonment issues?!”
You knew it was a low blow, but even though she left you, you couldn’t help but think about Jinx’s words, taking them to heart, and everything she told you. “He likes to think he can save everyone.”
He narrowed his eyes at your response; you could see him clenching his fist and clenching his teeth. His eyes no longer looking at you with acceptance or worry like you were used to, only irritation
“I wasn’t trying to change her; I thought she was in danger. I didn’t know she went with that piece of shit willingly…. I thought I could save her; I needed to because she was my friend.”
“Ohhhhh, that’s right, you’re the boy savior!”
His eyes went from a glare to cold and lifeless.
“Fuck you. You know nothing; you only know Jinx's pain but not mine. You’re right about one thing, though: you and Jinx are similar. So I don’t know why I was stupid enough to try and help you; just like her, you don’t deserve it.” That just pissed you off more.
“I didn’t ask you to help me! I didn’t ask for you to save me from offing myself! I didn’t ask for you to try and fucking fix me or my life!”
“I’m not trying to change you; I’m trying to give you something better! A chance! Silco didn’t give you a chance; he used you! Your work, a tool! If you survived on shimmer this long since birth, you're proof that his product can lead to something greater than he thought. But it’s at the expense of you and your health.” His voice lowers, his breathing heavy. “Please… tell me you see it. You have to know that keeping you on shimmer as long as he has wasn’t to help you. Only him.”
In the back of your mind you knew; you always knew. And yet the faith he put in you gave your heart love you’ve never felt before. How he always stated he was proud of you, said you were the best thing to happen in his life, that you're his legacy, his daughter. But what was the cost for your heart, suicidal thoughts, breakdowns, nightmares, and dissociation? A mother that never wanted you, a father that loved you but not enough to see your pain, only your potential. “Hey Ekko, thank you. For saving me and making me realize. I don’t want people to end up like me... because I’m not ok.”
“Then let me he“—”. He didn’t get to finish before you pushed back, making him crash into the tree behind him. You jumped from the stairs on the tree; you didn’t care about the fall because it’s the freest you ever felt. You could hear the other fireflies yelling, but the adrenaline and the wind in your ears helped you ignore them. As soon as you fell, you pushed forward, not caring about the pain in your legs and ankles. Grabbing a hoverboard before speeding off and out of the hideout.
When Ekko got up, he didn’t chase you, nor did he call out for you; all he could do was watch. Scar rushed up to him, looking at him expectingly. “She’s going to go back to Silco!? We have to catch her before she rats us out!?” Ekko didn’t react to his words, only looking forward to where you had run. “Ekko!” And when Ekko finally looked at Scar, he just shrugged. “She’ll be back when she’s ready.” “She’s not coming back." Ekko, she’s been waiting for an opportunity to escape, and we let her!”
Ekko just shook his head, picking up something off the ground. “She’ll be back.” “How do you know!?” Ekko moved his hand in front of Scar, showing him what he picked up. “She left her headphones.” Scar just scoffed. “That doesn't mean anything.” Ekko just shook his head. “Trust me, if you knew her like I do, you’d know it meant everything.”
You wandered around one of Silco's biggest shimmer factories, where most of his shipments go. You walked around the rooftop, pacing back and forth. “I’m addicted to the madness~” You turned on your headphones, singing along, tuning out the noise below, scummy workers and henchmen everywhere. “Let me leave my soul a-burning; I’ll be breathing it in.” Sneaking down through the crawl spaces, you laid out bombs everywhere you could stick them. You set up trap after trap after trap after trap. You knew this place like the back of your hand, so it was easy to get in and get out.
“I’m addicted to the feeling, getting higher than the ceiling~” This place had meaning to you… this was the first place Silco took you when he felt like you were ready to work for him. The first place where he showed you the ropes was the same place he had you start your injections. The same place you had your first breakdown. This felt like a goodbye to the past, the pain, everything that made you feel inadequate. You don’t know what you’d be without Silco; you knew the voices would never fully leave, but at least with this you could let your dad know you were ok and that you were going your own way.
“Just concede and give in to your inner demons again~” You hit the button, and it all blew up—the building, the workers.
And you too. Hopefully, Silco can forgive you for not saying goodbye.
It’s been 3 months; Ekko waited for you to return. But after a while he could only assume you’d either gone your own way or something terrible happened. Missions still happened with no sign of you with Silco's goons, and there’s talk about the huge explosion that happened, so he couldn’t pinpoint what had happened to you; all he had to give him comfort about your departure was your headphones. He never touched them, only keeping them by his bedside with your memory lingering with him whenever there in his sight. But today at 12 am, he finally had the courage to tinker with them, hopefully fixing them up.
He was concentrating so hard he didn’t hear the door open; it was Scar. “Your stray is back,” and as soon as he came, he left.
“Hey sunflower,” he jumped and turned around so quickly you thought he’d fall out of the chair. He did slip a little as he rushed to hug you, but you couldn’t bring yourself to laugh.
“Missed me?” He squeezed your torso, chuckling a little. “Missed your humor, not your bullshit.” You poked at his side, making him jump. “Lies, you missed that too. Everyone else is boring.
He pulls you over to his patched-up couch, both of you plopping down. You lean into his touch, laying on his shoulder. Neither of you said anything; you didn’t need to. You don’t know what you expected when it came to his reaction. But you’re glad Ekko didn’t pressure you to talk about anything or question what you’d been doing. You’d tell him one of these days. The withdraws, breakdowns, you almost ending it all. But right now you just wanted to enjoy his company; being alone for months took its toll, so it’s good to be back in a warming presence.
It took everything in you to not go back to Silco, to everything that was easier. But you pulled it off, and you hope Ekko could see that you really are trying. “Was it you?” He spoke so softly you thought you just imagined it, but Ekkos looking into your eyes let you know it was real. And you knew what he meant; your explosion was nothing but destruction, but you wanted to leave that behind you. So you said the only thing that was closest to the truth. “I’m following my own path now, Ekko.” When you looked back at him, it almost took your breath away. Those stupid, big, brown eyes looking at you with so much warmth you could’ve melted right then and there. It made you sick.
“I’m happy for you... So you’re just visiting?”
“Geez, trying to kick me out already, huh?” He shook his head. “Of course not. I just…. I want you to be happy and go your own way, even if it’s not here with me.” You looked away, biting your cheek. “So what if I wanted to be happy here?”.
“Then I’d make a space for you right now; you’re always welcome.”
“Even in your room~”
“Yeah, you can stay with me if you want.”
You felt all your thoughts falter and come to a stop once the words were out of his mouth. You paused and looked at him, face red. “Easy there; we don’t want everyone jealous that the big boss in charge is playing favorites.” He pulls you so close, too close. His nose and forehead touching your own. You don’t know this Ekko, Ekko who always was too shy to flirt back, who was always the gentleman, who only gave fleeting touches like he was afraid to break you. “You are my favorite; you’ll always be someone special to me.” You couldn’t help pushing his buttons, not wanting him to see your face reddening.
“Leaders shouldn’t show favoritism, ya know. I’m going to need something for me to keep quiet; wouldn’t want to hurt the kiddies feelings, would you? out of all the things you expected Ekko to say, you didn’t expect what he’d do.
Ekko leans down, capturing your lips in a gentle kiss. It’s slow and tender; the brush of his lips is so soft. He takes his time, savoring the feel of your lips against his, pouring all of his love and affection into the kiss. He leaned back and smiled warmly as he continued to gently caress your cheek. He looked at you with a soft, affectionate expression, his gaze filled with adoration thatyou’d noticed before. You just never had the guts to call him out on it.
“Is that enough to keep you quiet?”
“It's a start.”

Alright I need to ask the question cause it’s killing me…
When did the dynamic between Sonic and Shadow change for the worse?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The more I look into their dynamic throughout the years, the more I notice how different it is now than it was. It used to be “you never cease to surprise me blue hedgehog” and “it’ll be a date to die for.” Even when they were enemies in SA2, there was a respect, and a side where both of them enjoyed the banter. That continued for a while, where both seemed to enjoy each other’s company and Shadow enjoyed the banter just as much as Sonic.
When exactly did it go from that to what it is now, where Sonic is this character who lives to annoy Shadow and Shadow pretends to barely tolerate him? Why did it change? I don’t get it, their dynamic beforehand was wonderful. And don’t get me wrong, there’s still that mutual respect at the end of the day to an extent. But now it’s literally like Shadow can’t stand him and Sonic is the one doing all the teasing and banter, almost as though he’s searching for what they used to have.
I’m genuinely curious when that change happened, because it bothers me beyond belief. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Dean felt taken back by the way she rolled her eyes at him and his eyes went wide with her accusatory and pointed words, but worse than that it was the way she talked about Cas-- as if she even knew him! As if she even knew what they'd been through.... he wasn't still hung up on him... not his dick anyway.
Dean half hoped Madison would stumble and flop right on the floor with how rough she yanked herself out of his hold, his brows curved downwards in a harsh stare- ready to rip right back into her... until she started reaming herself... instead of him. The guilt came to a rolling boil before it spilled over, watching how Madison's face turned pink and her brown eyes watered Dean wasn't sure how to fix it and fighting in a bar was the last thing he wanted to be doing.
Dean chased after her the second she left, but it was when she reached for the door handle in her drunken rage that Dean felt all that rage from walking in and seeing her in the grip of a bunch of lowlife bar scuzz burst right back to the surface. But it morphed-- it morphed into genuine anger that she'd let herself get that fucking tossed.
"Are you fucking crazy?!" Dean grabbed Madison by her shoulders and spun her around so her back was pressed against the door and window of her car. "You think you're that invincible huh? You think I don't give two fucks about you that I'd just stand back and watch you get yourself killed behind the wheel?! Jesus christ you're fucking worse than Cas, you know that?!" he seethed with the type of fear that made him incapable of not yelling even with the waterfall of tears from Madison. "If none of this meant a thing I wouldn't be here! I wouldn't have spent the night calling you and filling up your fucking voicemail if I didn't give a shit, Madison! I told you already-- I'm not fucking around here- I'm not that guy. I get it, I fucked up-- I stood you up, but I called to tell you where I was! I called to explain, I called and asked you to fucking come have a date with me in the goddamn fucking stupid as shit er and you wouldn't pick up your damn phone!" his face flushed red, his eyes brightened beneath a soft gloss of heightened emotion.
"You can go ahead and call me the same as all the belly to the earth motherfuckers you've dated. I'm not gonna force you to change your mind-- but you're not gonna blame Cas for this-- or his dick." he added awkwardly. "I'm over Cas- he's over me, we aren't together- we're not fucking behind your back and laughing at you. You're not worthless and you're not pathetic and you do deserve better.... and I'm better! I thought I'd be home by 7 for you to pick me up. I wanted to go out with you-- I wasn't trying to stand you up, but I did and I can admit to that. It was shitty and wrong of me and I'm sorry. But you're not gonna go out and get wasted and try to get behind the wheel of your car- I've seen too much of that go south. I'm not losing anymore people to shitty 2am decisions, now give me your fucking keys and you can walk the hell home if you decide you're too badass to come sleep off your soon to be raging hangover at my place."
Madison was ripped away from the tender affection she was receiving & it was confusing.
She had stumbled a bit at the aggressive yank & she looked up at the culprit. It was Dean. That handsome, son of a bitch.
It took a moment to process what he was saying & when everything registered she huffed, “atleast a sap can be upfront about everything meaning nothing.” She rolled her eyes, “oh you wanna help? Wanna play hero?Im just some stupid bitch huh?” She bit back, “help me find a man who can respect me & not stand me up. Help me find a man who isn’t still hung up on his fucking ex’s dick.”
Madison ripped her wrist away, “you made me feel pathetic & you know what, I can finally accept that.” She wobbled in her heels & ran a hand through her gorgeous messy bun. “I am pathetic, & I am worthless & I should just go out & enjoy my fucking life instead of thinking I deserve better.” She gave him a rough shove away. “And I have you to thank for that. So thank you!” Her voice was raising & her cheeks turning pink, eyes getting glossy. “Thank you for showing me I’m not worth a god damn thing & every man I meet, no matter how tall & handsome & smart & funny, & charming is just like everyone else!”
A few tears slid down her cheek & she reached over to the table to snatch her purse away. Madison did her best to walk toward the door that was bouncing & blurry. Madison managed to make it outside & to her car, but everything was so blurry, she couldn’t grab the handle.
Eventually she gave up & just leaned her head against the window & cried. The alcohol finally taking full advantage of her emotional state.

Could you give me any insight on the safety of these feminine hygiene wipes I bought? I’m not sure how to tell if they’re going to give me a yeast infection or something lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Note: I cannot see these well enough to describe them for others, sorry about that.)
Now, admittedly, I can't see these super well and I'm not an expert on the subject but I do have some thoughts.
The first red flag here is perfume. Perfume is almost always a genital irritant. (Which may be why it's listed as fragrance instead. Not sure.)
Also, lavender oil usually contains alcohol, which is also a genital irritant. (Both can cause vaginal dryness and mess with your pH, which can cause...you guessed it, yeast infections.)
Some of the other ingredients aren't always irritants but are definitely possible irritants and can cause yeast infections. (Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, etc)
Those were my first thoughts! But then I noticed the "Since 1920s" text and got a really bad feeling. The 1920s and a company propping themselves up for their "feminine hygiene products"? Not a good combination.
So, I looked up Modess. Turns out they're a proud offshoot of Johnson and Johnson and are partially still affiliated with them. Talk about flags redder than the communist flag, wow.
Johnson and Johnson is particularly infamous for their lack of testing and ignoring when their products were literally killing people and that's not even getting into the racism and misogyny. [Seriously. It's horrific.]
Now, beyond that, I looked at the Modess website. They sell loads of "feminine hygiene products", designed to eliminate odor with many questionable ingredients.
With that in mind and the fact that people who use things labeled as "feminine hygiene products" have been shown to have higher rates of all types of infections and even cancer, I wouldn't trust this shit any further than I could walk [which isn't far!]
I could absolutely be wrong but these genuinely seem sketchy as fuck and some of these ingredients definitely seem like a cocktail designed to give people, especially those with sensitive pHs, at least a yeast infection.
Sorry it took awhile to respond and sorry if I rambled a lot but I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. <3

🏛️ emperor caracalla ; headcanons ⋆₊𐕣˚𖤐 ݁。☽
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
content warning: fem!reader. mentions of blood, killing and sickness, cheating, possessiveness, toxicity. idk if there’s anything else.
word count: 0.7k
author’s note: first time writing headcanons, so constructive criticism is welcomed. and english is my third language so please bear with me. i apologize for any mistake 🙏🏻 also, i’m unlocking a new obsession, so i needed to write for caracalla asap. i’m gonna write for other fred characters too because that man has me down bad. that’s it! enjoyyy! <3
emperor caracalla is a menace with an insane duality and you know that better than anyone
we have 1) mad ruler with an insatiable thirst for blood
you ALWAYS go to the games
he demands wants you there with him
(not like you have much choice being married to him)
but still, he loves to know you’re there. mostly because he actually enjoys sharing his passion and spending time with you. buuut, also because he REALLY likes to show you off. (you love seeing him all giggly clapping and yelling tho)
and let me tell you, he takes every opportunity to do so. to remind everyone that you’re his. and to brag in front of his pretty much unmarried brother.
i’m talking hand rubbing your thigh when sitting by his side (he does it absentmindedly, it’s genuinely cute), arm around your waist during feasts, sitting on his lap when watching combats, theatre or any sort of entertainment and a ton of PDA.
both of them are possessive, but he is more subtle, not as straightforward
regarding Geta, you two have an… odd relationship. he’s thankful there’s someone else to deal with his brother’s madness. but he’s suspicious of your intentions. tho jealous.
some would even say not only of the marriage itself…
caracalla knows, and absolutely feeds on it. he finally has something that belongs to him and only him
god forbid someone doesn’t get it
Dondus has grown to adore you. you’re like his other parent -he’s adopted you as such.
squeaks at you and happily climbs your arm to rest on your shoulder
loves using your braids as little ladders
and snuggling against your neck too
he’s just so cute can u tell i love him :3
anyways
and 2) sappy child
he follows you around like a puppy
you hate it when he gets overwhelmed, he tends to hide and isolate himself
you end up acting like his mother
gets insecure of his real face and keeps it from you
needs a lot of reassurance
the guards always look for you when he has an outburst
your touch and presence are the only things that ground him
LOVES LOVES LOVES cuddling
clings to you like he needs you to breathe
good luck waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom 💀
play with his hair and he’s GONE
big on pet names
to you is always “my love” “my dear” “my darling” “my wife” “my empress”
emphasis on the “my”
everything’s fine with him but “sweet boy” makes him melt
and obviously “my emperor” cause it makes him feel powerful
and compliments too
spoils and pampers the shit out of you
jewels, clothes, animals, entertainers, you name it
absolutely whipped
loves kissing
now, it can’t all be a fairytale 😞
sometimes you feel like he loves Dondus more than you
and it seems that some men being forced to kill each other brings him more happiness than you ever could
he can switch from sad to angry in a matter of seconds and sometimes his sudden change of tone and expressions startles you
🚩 🚩🚩
being married to a sick man is hard
many palace servants and guards feel bad for you
paranoid
thinks you don’t love him anymore and are going to leave him quite often
obsessive
if you say something that feels ‘off’ to him get ready for an intense interrogation
possessive and extremely jealous
cause why the fuck where you laughing with some random man?
he’d threaten to kill him and would probably get rough with you
hates other people touching you
gets violent
has hurt you before during one of his fits
regrets it afterwards but has a hard time apologizing
would probably be unfaithful. i know, i hate it too 🥲
over all i think he wouldn’t be that bad of a husband, like it could be way worse
and i say he could genuinely love you, it just wouldn’t be the healthiest of loves
but you can try to fix him girl ✨✨

I loved your Dark characters with daughters!!! What if the girls grew up into teens and finally realized that their mom or dad was not who they seem and started trying to shield their mother? Or better yet! Tried to help their mother escape?

Conqueror Minthara:
Your daughter had grown into a force of nature, fierce and unyielding, much like her mothers. She carried herself with a grace that was almost predatory, her every movement calculated, her words as sharp and cutting as the daggers she kept hidden beneath her dark robes. She was Minthara’s child in so many ways, with a cool detachment that cloaked her like armor. Yet there was a piece of her, a hidden shard of vulnerability, that she revealed only to you.
It was in the quiet moments you shared—her sharp wit tempered into something softer, her icy demeanor thawing just enough to let you glimpse the girl beneath. She didn’t smile often, but when she did, it was for you, and it carried a sincerity that made your chest ache. Her dark eyes, so much like Minthara’s, would meet yours with an intensity that spoke volumes. She wouldn’t say it aloud—she didn’t have to—but you were her anchor in a world shaped by cruelty and ambition.
But the moment Minthara entered the room, the mask snapped back into place. Snark and ice replaced the quiet sincerity, her tone growing sharp, her body language stiffening. The mother-daughter relationship was a battlefield, each interaction laced with subtle challenges and unspoken rivalries. And then there was the matter of her attempts.
The first time your daughter had tried to assassinate Minthara, it had been clumsy, a pre-teenager’s misguided rebellion—a knife hidden in the folds of her robes, a vial of poison slipped into her wine. Minthara had caught her with ease, of course, but instead of being angry, she had seemed… amused. She’d pinned your daughter to the wall with a flick of her wrist, her voice low and laced with that dangerous sweetness.
“Darling, you must do better than that,” Minthara had purred, a cruel smile curling her lips. “If you’re going to kill me, at least make it interesting.”
Your daughter had spat back a retort, defiance burning in her eyes, and Minthara had laughed—a genuine, delighted laugh. It had only emboldened her, and the attempts continued, each one more elaborate than the last. Traps, spells, blades—your daughter had an arsenal of ideas and an unshakable determination. Minthara, infuriatingly, found it endearing. She would dodge a poisoned dart or dismantle a trap with casual ease, turning to you with a smirk as if to say, Look at what our child has inherited.
What puzzled Minthara, though, was your daughter’s restraint when it came to you. She never directed her schemes toward you, never plotted against you with the same fervor she reserved for Minthara.
“She knows better,” Minthara said one evening, her tone light but her gaze calculating. “Even being my daughter wouldn’t save her from the hell I’d unleash if she dared to harm you.”
You didn’t answer, though you suspected it wasn’t just fear that held your daughter back. She didn’t wear her heart on her sleeve, but in those rare, unguarded moments with you, you saw the depth of her affection, the unspoken gratitude she carried for you. You had been her sanctuary, her guiding hand in a life that was anything but gentle.
One evening, as you sat alone with her in the quiet of the garden, she reached out, her hand brushing against yours. The gesture was brief, almost hesitant, but the sincerity in her eyes was unmistakable.
“Do you regret it?” she asked softly, her voice lacking its usual edge.
“Regret what?” you asked, tilting your head.
“This,” she gestured around vaguely, though you knew she meant the life you had built with Minthara, the choices that had led to her existence.
You smiled faintly, squeezing her hand.
“Never,” you said, your voice firm. “Not for a second.”
For a moment, her mask slipped entirely, and she looked at you not as the fierce young woman she had become but as the little girl who used to run to you with flowers in her hands and joy in her eyes. Then, with a sigh, she stood, her usual armor falling back into place as the faintest smile tugged at her lips.
“You’re insufferablely emotional mother,” she said, though her tone held no real bite.
“Oh and you love me for it,” you replied, watching her retreat back toward the estate.
Later, when Minthara found herself dodging yet another assassination attempt—a dagger flung with precision that nearly grazed her cheek—she sighed, shaking her head in mock exasperation.
“I swear, one of these days, she’s going to succeed,” Minthara said to you, a glint of pride in her crimson eyes. And you could only hope she was right.

Mother Superior Shadowheart:
The daughter you and Shadowheart had raised had grown into a remarkable young woman, exuding grace, power, and a dangerous charm that made her every inch the heir to the Mother Superior. She embraced her lineage with open arms, lavishing in the privilege and authority that came with being Shadowheart’s daughter. She wore her Sharran black with pride, her voice commanding in the temple halls, and her laughter silken and soft when you indulged her whims.
Despite the grim and devout path of Shar’s teachings, you and Shadowheart had never been able to deny her anything. You spoiled her—Shadowheart in ways subtle yet meaningful, offering gifts imbued with dark magic or private lessons in shadow manipulation, and you with open affection, soft words, and gentle indulgences that weren’t always aligned with Sharran discipline.
“She’s still your daughter,” you’d argue when Shadowheart raised an eyebrow at your more doting tendencies, and Shadowheart would relent with a sigh, brushing a hand over her daughter’s hair. “Even Shar understands the strength of love,” she would murmur, a rare, almost wistful softness in her voice.
For her part, your daughter adored you both. She worshipped Shadowheart for her strength and cunning, aspiring to one day fill her role as Mother Superior with equal fervor. But she also loved you, the way you balanced the darkness of her upbringing with warmth and tenderness that sometimes made her question her path.
But then she began to notice something. A fracture in the otherwise perfect picture of your family.
It started small—little moments where you seemed confused, where you laughed at stories Shadowheart told as though you were hearing them for the first time, even though they’d happened just days before. Your daughter dismissed it at first, chalking it up to the distractions of a chaotic life. But then she overheard the argument.
It was late, the temple quiet except for the murmurs of shadowed prayers. She had been walking past Shadowheart’s chambers when she heard raised voices inside. Your voice was strained, confused, tinged with hurt.
“You can’t keep doing this to me, Shadowheart,” you said. “I know something’s wrong. I feel it—like there are pieces missing, gaps I can’t explain. Why won’t you just tell me what you’re hiding?”
“I am protecting you,” Shadowheart snapped, her voice cutting. “There are things you don’t need to remember, things that would only hurt you. Why can’t you trust me to do what’s best for you—for us?”
“Because I don’t even know what I’m trusting anymore!” you shot back, your voice breaking. “How many times have we had this argument? Will I even remember it tomorrow?”
Silence followed, thick and suffocating, and your daughter froze outside the door, her heart pounding.
The next day, when she approached you, she tread carefully, her usual confidence shaken.
“Are you okay, Mama?” she asked, her voice soft.
You looked at her, your head tilting in confusion. “Of course, my love. Why wouldn’t I be?”
Her stomach twisted. “You and Mother… You had a fight last night.”
Your expression grew even more puzzled.
“We didn’t argue,” you said firmly, though there was a flicker of uncertainty in your eyes. “Shadowheart and I never argue.”
That was when she knew.
Her confrontation with Shadowheart came later, in the stillness of the inner sanctum.
“You’ve been wiping her memories,” she accused, her voice shaking with anger.
Shadowheart didn’t flinch, her gaze steady. “You don’t understand. I’m doing this for her own good.”
“Her good?” Your daughter’s voice rose, her fists clenched at her sides. “She’s my mother, and you’re stealing her from me. From herself. You’re lying to her, to me—how is that for her good?”
Shadowheart stepped closer, her expression calm but unyielding. “There are things she doesn’t need to carry, things that would only hurt her. I do what is necessary to keep her happy, to keep her safe.”
“No,” your daughter said, her voice trembling with rage. “You’re doing what’s necessary to keep control. You don’t want her to leave, to see what you’ve done to her. Well, I’m leaving. And I’m taking her with me.”
Shadowheart’s expression darkened, a flicker of sadness crossing her face before it hardened into resolve. “No, you won’t.”
She raised a hand, her magic lacing the air with shadows, and the chamber doors slammed shut.
Your daughter’s breath hitched, her heart racing as she backed away. “Mother, don’t—please. You don’t have to do this.”
Shadowheart stepped forward, her voice soft but unrelenting. “This won’t hurt, my love. I promise.”
The spell was quick, tendrils of shadow wrapping around your daughter’s mind as she screamed, clawing at the air.
“Don’t do this! Please!” she cried, tears streaming down her face. Shadowheart hesitated for the briefest of moments, her face twisting with pain, but then she finished the incantation. The screaming stopped, your daughter’s body going limp as she fell to her knees.
When she looked up, her eyes were glassy, her expression blank. Shadowheart knelt before her, cradling her face in her hands.
“There, my love” she murmured, brushing a tear from her daughter’s cheek. “Everything is as it should be.”

God of Ambition Gale:
The tower that had become your home in Gale's realm shimmered with arcane energy, a perfect encapsulation of his brilliance and ambition. It was also where your daughter, a godlette coming into her own, often found herself at odds with her father. She was a being of power and promise, radiant and sharp-edged, but Gale’s constant expectations of perfection had begun to weigh heavily on her.
Their arguments had grown more frequent, louder, and harsher. Tonight was no different.
“I don’t understand why you can’t just focus!” Gale’s voice echoed through the study, his tone sharp and laced with frustration. “You’re capable of so much more, but you squander your potential!”
Your daughter, standing tall and defiant, crossed her arms and glared at him.
“I’m trying,” she snapped, her voice trembling with restrained emotion. “But nothing is ever good enough for you, is it? I’m not some project for you to perfect, Father.”
Gale pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing deeply. “If you would just—”
“Just what?” she interrupted, her voice rising. “Be more like Mother? Is that it? You’ve said it before, haven’t you? ‘Why can’t you be more like her?’” She mocked his tone, her sharp words cutting the air.
Gale froze, caught off guard, and you stepped into the room, sensing the tension about to boil over.
“Don’t bring her into this,” Gale said finally, his voice low but strained.
But your daughter wasn’t finished. “Why not? She’s the only reason I’m still here. Do you even realize how much she gives up for you? For this life? For me? She deserves better than this—better than you!”
Her words were like a dagger to your heart, not because they weren’t true, but because of the raw pain behind them. Gale’s face darkened, a mix of anger and hurt flashing in his eyes.
You stepped between them, your voice calm but firm. “That’s enough.”
Your daughter’s anger faltered, her eyes meeting yours, and you saw the storm of emotions raging within her. You turned to Gale, placing a hand gently on his arm.
“She’s struggling, Gale,” you said softly. “Maybe she needs time away to find herself.”
Gale looked at you, frowning. “You mean send her to the mortal plane?”
“She’s ungrateful, my love, of your benevolence," you said carefully, your words aimed to soothe him, deceive him. “But perhaps some distance would help her grow, to learn what is right, to realise all you do for her."
Your daughter’s eyes widened in shock, her defiance giving way to confusion. “Mother, no! I don’t want to leave you!”
You turned to her, giving her a small, knowing smile, a subtle wink she caught immediately. It was a silent reassurance, a promise that this wasn’t what it seemed.
“It’s for the best,” you said gently, your voice catching slightly as you forced yourself to sound resolute. “You need to realise how much your father does for you, and roughing it out in the mortal plane, making a mortal like life for yourself will do that..”
Gale, latching onto the idea, nodded, his expression softening as he placed a hand on her shoulder. “Your mother is right. You have great potential, but perhaps you need to see the world beyond this realm, in order to truly appreciate what me and your mother do for you."
Your daughter looked at you, betrayal flickering across her face, but she held her tongue, trusting your silent message. With a wave of his hand, Gale opened a shimmering portal to the mortal plane, its edges crackling with magic.
“Go,” he said, his tone a mix of command and slight irritation.
She hesitated, turning to you one last time, her voice breaking. “I’ll come back for you, Mother.”
You smiled through the tears threatening to spill, your voice steady as you whispered, “Of course, my love.”
As she stepped through the portal, the energy surged and then disappeared, leaving the room eerily quiet. Gale sighed, sinking into a nearby chair.
“Teenagers,” he muttered, rubbing his temples. “They’re impossible.”
You nodded absently, your heart aching as you turned away, wiping at your eyes when he wasn’t looking. This wasn’t fair to her, to either of you, but it was the only way to give her the freedom she so desperately needed.
Later, as Gale droned on about his own youthful rebellion and how she would surely return wiser, you sat in silence, holding back your tears and hoping your daughter would forgive you for this. You had done it for her, for her future, and for the faint hope that one day, you might find a way to join her in the world beyond Gale’s oppressive and toxic shadow.

Ascended Astarion:
The Palace’s grand doors slammed open with a dramatic flourish, and your daughter, your pride and headache, stumbled inside, her laughter echoing through the halls. Astarion followed closely behind, his pale face flushed with satisfaction, his movements as graceful and deliberate as always.
Your daughter, on the other hand, was chaos incarnate. Blood streaked her delicate face, smeared across her lips like rouge, and her elegant hunting attire was utterly ruined—torn and splattered crimson. She was practically vibrating with excitement, her fangs glinting as she beamed at you.
“Mother!” she called, her voice high and giddy. She sprinted toward you, throwing herself into your arms with no concern for the mess she was making of your clothes. “It was amazing! You should have seen me!”
You stumbled under her weight, grimacing as the sticky warmth of blood seeped into your dress.
“Careful,” you muttered, though you couldn’t help but smile at her enthusiasm.
“She was marvelous,” Astarion drawled as he sauntered in behind her, wiping a speck of blood from the corner of his mouth with a handkerchief. “Quick, vicious—absolutely poetic.” His smirk deepened as he added, “She truly is her father’s daughter.”
You shot him a look, a mixture of exasperation and amusement.
“And yet she’s absolutely covered in blood,” you said pointedly. “I’ll clean her up.”
Astarion chuckled, clearly unbothered by the carnage.
“As you wish, my love,” he said with a mock bow, already turning to pour himself a glass of fresh blood.
You guided your daughter to the bathing chambers, her chatter filling the air as she recounted every detail of the hunt.
“And then I pounced,” she said, miming the motion with clawed hands, “and he didn’t even see me coming! Father says I’m a natural. Oh, and there was this one spawn—” Her voice lowered conspiratorially. “He begged, Mother. Actually begged! It was pathetic.”
You couldn’t help the small frown that tugged at your lips.
“I thought you weren’t supposed to hunt the spawn,” you said gently.
She waved a dismissive hand. “Oh, I didn’t kill him! Father says they’re too useful to waste. But still, it was pathetic.”
You didn’t respond, busying yourself with preparing the bath. Soon, the room filled with the warm scent of lavender, and you ushered her into the steaming water. The crimson streaks began to dissolve, swirling in delicate patterns before disappearing down the drain.
As you gently scrubbed the blood from her hair, she asked suddenly, “Mother, will you ever leave me?”
The question made you pause, your hands stilling in her hair.
“What?” you asked, startled. “Why would you ask something like that?”
She shrugged, leaning back against the tub’s edge.
“You don’t like hunting with us,” she said bluntly. “You’re… nice to the spawn.” She wrinkled her nose in mock disgust before flashing you a teasing grin. “You’re too soft for this life, mother.”
You splashed her playfully, making her squeal.
“Watch it,” you said with a smirk. “I may be soft, but I’m still your mother.”
She giggled, wiping water from her face. “I’m serious, though. You don’t approve of me and Father, do you?”
You sighed, your hands moving to rinse her hair.
“I may not always approve of everything you and your father do,” you admitted, your tone gentle. “But that doesn’t mean I don’t love you. I love you more than anything, my darling.”
Her expression softened, and for a moment, she looked more like the little girl who used to climb into your lap than the blood-drenched huntress she was growing into.
“Do you love Father?” she asked quietly.
The question made your heart ache. You hesitated, searching for the right words.
“In my own way,” you said finally, your voice soft.
She tilted her head, studying you with those sharp, curious eyes that reminded you so much of Astarion. “So you’re not going to leave us?”
You leaned forward, cupping her face in your hands.
“Only death could ever separate me from you,” you said firmly. “I love you more than anything in this world.”
She seemed to relax at that, her usual confidence returning as she leaned back in the tub with a contented sigh.
“Good,” she said. “Because I’d miss you if you left. Even if you are softer than a marshmallow.”
You rolled your eyes, but a smile tugged at your lips. By the time you finished cleaning her up, she was practically glowing, her earlier bloodlust replaced with a quiet affection that she reserved only for you.
When you returned her to the grand hall, Astarion raised an eyebrow at her clean and polished appearance.
“Oh, look at you,” he teased. “All scrubbed up like a proper little vampiric princess.”
She smirked, her usual fire returning as she retorted, “Still just as vicious as you, Father.”
Astarion laughed, pulling her into a quick embrace before turning to you with a knowing smile.
“You’ve done well with her,” he said softly, his eyes gleaming with pride.
As you watched the two of them together, you couldn’t help but feel a strange sense of peace. For all the chaos and darkness that surrounded your lives, your love for your daughter was an unshakable constant—one that even eternity couldn’t take away.
─── ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅ ───
Naturist Halsin:
The sunlight filtered gently through the dense canopy of the forest as you knelt beside your daughter, weaving wildflowers into a crown. She sat cross-legged on the soft moss, her delicate fingers threading blossoms together. Wherever she touched, the forest seemed to bloom brighter, as if the earth itself responded to her gentle spirit. She radiated a calm, innocent joy that made your heart ache with pride.
“Do you think the daisies or the violets should go next, Mother?” she asked, holding up a small cluster of flowers with a thoughtful expression.
“Daisies,” you said with a smile, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear. “They suit you best.”
She giggled, her voice as light and carefree as birdsong, but the moment was shattered by the sound of boots crunching against fallen leaves.
You turned quickly, your body tense, as a group of Harpers emerged from the shadows. Their faces were hard, their bows drawn and arrows notched, all aimed directly at you.
“Don’t move,” one of them ordered, his voice cold and commanding. “You’re from Halsin’s grove, aren’t you? One of the extremists.”
You immediately raised your hands, your breath catching. Beside you, your daughter froze, her bright eyes wide with fear. Then, with a soft whimper, she threw herself into your arms, clinging to you desperately.
“Mother, what do we do?” she whispered, her voice trembling. You held her close, your heart pounding.
“Stay calm,” you murmured, your voice steady despite the rising panic. Then, louder, you said to the Harpers, “We mean you no harm. We’re here in peace.”
The leader of the group sneered. “Peace? Don’t make me laugh. Your grove doesn’t know the meaning of the word.”
Before you could respond, a deep, guttural growl rumbled through the forest, making the earth beneath your feet vibrate. The Harpers faltered, their gazes darting toward the sound.
And then he appeared. Halsin, in his massive bear form, burst from the undergrowth with a roar that echoed through the trees. The Harpers barely had time to react before he lunged at them, tearing into their ranks with brutal efficiency.
Your daughter screamed, burying her face in your chest as the air filled with the sickening sounds of claws tearing through flesh and the anguished cries of the dying. You wrapped your arms around her tightly, shielding her as best you could from the carnage.
“Hush, my love,” you whispered, stroking her hair as she sobbed. “Don’t look. It’ll be over soon.”
But even as you tried to comfort her, your own heart ached at the violence unfolding before you.
When only a few Harpers remained, Halsin shifted back into his Elven form, his face and hands stained with blood. He didn’t hesitate, raising his hands to summon the earth itself against his enemies. Vines erupted from the ground, sharp and thorny, wrapping around the last of the Harpers. Their screams were short-lived as the vines tightened, their sharp thorns piercing through armor and flesh alike.
Finally, the forest grew silent once more. Halsin turned to you, his eyes softening as he rushed over.
“Are you hurt?” he asked, his voice low and full of concern.
His gaze shifted to your daughter, who was trembling violently in your arms.
“My little flower,” he said gently, crouching down to her level. “It’s over. You’re safe now.”
But she flinched away from him, her tear-streaked face full of horror.
“Safe?” she repeated, her voice breaking. “Father, you—you killed them!”
Halsin’s expression faltered, his brow furrowing. “They would have harmed you,” he said softly. “I couldn’t let that happen.”
Her small hands gripped your tunic tightly as she shook her head.
“They were people,” she said, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and despair. “You didn’t have to do that. You didn’t have to—”
Halsin’s face hardened slightly, though there was still sorrow in his eyes. “They would have hurt your mother. They would have hurt you,” he said firmly. “What I did was necessary.”
Your daughter sobbed harder, her head burying against you as if to block out her father’s voice.
“It wasn’t necessary,” she choked out. “It was horrible.”
Halsin stood then, his voice steady but unyielding. “Horrible, yes. But too much of a mercy for them. They dared to threaten my family. If I had to, I would do it again.”
You felt her body tense at his words, her sobs growing quieter but more anguished. You kissed the top of her head, murmuring softly to her, trying to comfort her in the only way you knew how.
“Halsin,” you said, your voice quiet but edged with pain. “Give her a moment.”
For a long time, he stood there, watching the two of you with an unreadable expression. Then he nodded, stepping back into the shadows of the forest, leaving you alone to comfort your daughter.
In that moment, you knew something had shifted—something fragile and precious had cracked between her and her father, leaving wounds that might never fully heal.
─── ⋅ ∙ ∘ ☽ ༓ ☾ ∘ ⋅ ⋅ ───
Grand Duke Wyll:
The evening had started like many others in Wyll’s grand estate, cloaked in the kind of uneasy opulence that you had grown accustomed to. Your daughter had stormed out earlier after the latest in a series of Wyll’s ruthless decisions—this time, the casual execution of her tutor, a man guilty only of showing you the kindness of conversation. Wyll had called it a necessary act to preserve the family’s honor, his tone dismissive as though such cruelty were as natural as breathing.
The front doors creaked open, and your daughter returned, her wild curls damp from the misty night air and her eyes blazing with determination. Her steps echoed in the grand hall as she approached, her face a mix of sorrow and defiance.
“I visited his family,” she announced, her voice steady but sharp. “I apologized to them for what you did. And I gave them money to help. It won’t bring him back, but it’s the least I could do.”
Wyll, seated comfortably in his high-backed chair, barely glanced up from his glass of wine. He waved a hand dismissively. “Dramatic as ever, little one. You’ll grow out of it.”
That was when she snapped.
“No, Father, I won’t!” she shouted, stepping closer. “I’m done with this—done with you. I’m leaving. And I’m taking Mother with me. We’re going far away from here. Away from you.”
The room fell silent except for the crackling fire in the hearth. Wyll set his glass down and tilted his head, his eyes narrowing. Then, to your horror, he began to laugh.
Your daughter’s hand clenched into fists at her sides, her jaw tight as she stood her ground. You flashed her a warning look, silently pleading for her not to push him further. But she didn’t back down.
“I mean it,” she said, her voice cold and resolute. She stepped closer to you, extending her hand. “Come on, Mother. We’re leaving. You don’t have to stay here with him anymore.”
Wyll rose to his feet, his imposing frame casting long shadows across the room.
“Your little rebellion is adorable,” he said, his voice low and mocking. “But let me make one thing clear: if you ever tried to leave, I’d have you locked in this estate before you even reached the gates. And as for taking your mother—”
Before he could finish, the air in the room shifted, and with a crackle of flames, Mizora appeared. Her scarlet eyes gleamed with amusement as she surveyed the scene.
“What do you want?” Wyll snapped, his voice dripping with disdain. “I’ve no use for you anymore.”
Mizora smirked, brushing a lock of fiery hair from her face. “Oh, I’m not here for you, darling,” she purred. “I’ve got a new pet now.”
It took only a moment for the realization to dawn, and when it did, your heart dropped. Your daughter stepped forward, her chin held high as Mizora draped an almost affectionate arm around her shoulders.
“You made a pact with her?” Wyll roared, his fury shaking the room.
Your daughter didn’t flinch. She ignored him entirely, reaching for your hand. “Come with me, Mother. Please.”
Wyll lunged toward you both, but in an instant, the three of you were gone, the oppressive weight of the estate replaced by the cool night air.
When you opened your eyes, you found yourselves standing in a clearing far from Baldur’s Gate. The stars above seemed brighter, their light untainted by the city’s smog. Mizora clapped her hands together, a wide grin on her face.
“Well, wasn’t that just delightful?” she said, her voice practically dripping with glee. “Welcome to your new life, darlings.”
Your daughter turned to you, her defiant mask slipping as emotion overtook her. You pulled her into your arms, holding her tightly.
“Why?” you whispered, your voice breaking. “Why would you do this, my darling girl?”
She pulled back just enough to look you in the eyes, her own filled with tears. “Because of you, Mother. The only reason I’ve stayed alive in that place is because of you. I couldn’t watch you suffer anymore. If this is the price for your freedom, then it’s worth it. A hundred times over.”
You held her even tighter, your tears mingling with hers as you whispered promises of gratitude and love. Mizora watched the two of you with an amused smile, clearly savoring her victory. To have taken everything from Wyll, his daughter and consequently you - oh it was a victory worth savouring. This was going to such good fun.

You inspire so many new HCs that my brain shall one day break~

New HC(s):
Everyone has stickers they give Sephiroth at random times for random things because he deserves them.
Zack always puts one on his face. Sephiroth has gone through an entire meeting with a sparkly rainbow star on his forehead. (Zack is also responsible for the "no trying to sneak into Sephiroth's apartment to play 'Late Tooth Fairy But With Stickers' when he's sleeping" rule. He's responsible for several new rules in regards to sticker giving, tbh, but he maintains that that's part of the fun. He tactfully doesn't say how the deep sighs Angeal and Lazard give him for it are also part of the fun of it.)
Genesis gives Sephiroth's a laminated, wallet sized card full of empty square/box-like spaces, similar to that of a punch card, and when he's had all slots filled Sephiroth soon after finds candy mysteriously left on his desk. The candy type frequently changes, but he never receives one that he's disliked. If Sephiroth finds that he dislikes the newly tried candy that's been left on his desk, very mysteriously, then the next day he receives a replacement with something that he does like. (The first was a Banoran specialty sweet which narrowed down the list of suspects greatly. The fact that it was also 'sweet red apple' flavored narrowed it down even more so.)
Angeal mixes it up what he gives, but it's always something reminiscent of mostly normal childhood memories that Sephiroth should have had, like the rest of them*. Sephiroth receives a lot of little things that needed water to "come to life", including the occasional tiny plant. He finds them intriguing, as is evidence by his very feline-esque pupils growing as he watches the process entirely. It "sparks joy", as one would put it. (*Angeal maintains that Zack is also an outlier to most of this and they cannot account for the long favored Gongagan festivals' backwater game of 'Touch-Me Wrangling'.)
Cloud gets the gist of the whole sticker reward happenings, but it's not a Nibelheim thing so he's never actually experienced it either. Instead, Cloud gives Sephiroth what his childhood experiences were made of; practical things or cool things made with/gained by doing something practical/necessary. (He shyly explains this to Sephiroth when he offers him a handmade necklace with a Nibel Wolf fang from his own very first kill, mythril thread woven messily yet artfully around the leather cord. What Cloud doesn't explain is how deep the meanings of the first kill items are.)
+Lazard heard of what the boys are doing, the why of what the boys are doing and, well, he's nothing if not one who cares for his gremlins children Soldiers — even if that care is shown in the form of shouting and chasing the heathens them with a broom sometimes. Reward Stickers, thankfully, do not factor into any of those times. He sneaks little golden stars onto Post-Its attached to whatever papers he hands over to Sephiroth. When it seems like Sephiroth is having a bad day, Lazard makes a constellation around the star sticker. (He might not admit it, but seeing the little quirk of his lips when Sephiroth notices, a genuine smile or near enough if it, is held as a very special sight to him.)
Oh this fills my heart with joy 🥺💚 makes me think this conversation would go down though:
Hojo: Sephiroth, why in the blazes do you have a golden star sticker on your shoulder guard? How utterly unbecoming of a specimen of your caliber.
Sephiroth: It's my reward for not stabbing you with that spork you gave me when I was 7 to eat whatever that gray lab sludge was you called sustenance.
Hojo:

SONIC 3 MAJOR SPOILERS!!!
PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM
My Sonic 3 Review:
Opening the film with Shadow waking up to memories of Maria I am SICK
Maria... was playing... Live and Learn... on guitar... omg... my heart...
OZZY'S "You stole my hoomans!" LMAOOOOOO
The fact that when Sonic says to Tom "I don't know what I'd do without you, I'd probably be a completely different hedgehog", they cut to Shadow - that is PEAK cinematography!
SHADOW ON HIS MOTORBIKE!!!
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY AGENT STONE ON A MOTORBIKE HELLO???
Tails wanted to go the chao garden he is so adorable I love him so much 😭 and the look on his face when they start performing he's just a little guy 🥺
THE WAY THE CHAO WERE RUNNING ABOUT WHEN THE CHAO GARDEN WAS ATTACKED WAS SO FUNNY
Eggman watching telenovelas is so accurate actually
Agent Stone is just so in love isn't he? In fact the Stobotnik scenes in this film were some of my favourite scenes - Lee Majdoub you're amazing
Keanu Reeves was AMAZING as Shadow
Shadow looked so scared when he was put in the tank and it was filling with water poor baby 🥺
One thing that was NOT on my Sonic 3 bingo chart was COMMANDER WALTERS FUCKING DYING??? THEY KILLED THE OLIVE GARDEN GUY???
Maria drawing a bunny face over Shadow in the tank she is so precious I love them both so much 😭
The little montage of Shadow and Maria hanging out made me SICK (in a good way) especially that scene when he's running through the halls pulling her behind him on her rollerskates LOL
NOOOOO SHADOW YOU'RE NOT AN ALIEN FREAK DON'T LISTEN TO THAT STUPID MOVIE
"There's still light, even when the star's not there anymore" okay so I'm just gonna cry into my popcorn now thx
Stone calling Tails adorable he is so real for that
Eggman saying that he's "undesirable to all possible genders" 🤨🏳️‍🌈 'whoa he's bisexual I didn't know that!'
Speed reference!
"It's like we're in a movie and we're both being played by the same actor! *Slowly stare into camera*" That fourth wall break was BRILLIANT
I can't decide whether Tom's puppet of himself is absolutely hilarious or absolutely terrifying
The montage of Eggman and Gerald lol! (but poor Stone was left out ☹️)
The entire London break-in scene was great! Especially when Knuckles finally got to break the glass!
REVENGE GUAC
Can we take a minute to appreciate the complete contrast between Gerald saying "a WOMAN in the MILITARY 😒" and Shadow saying that the girl in the telenovela should kill both the guys fighting over her because she's "not a prize to be won"?
Also Shadow watching a telenovela and telling the girl to kill both guys is so accurate LMAO he really said 'YOU LEAVE THAT LATINA ALONE!'
Ngl for a hot second I GENUINELY thought Tom was dead that was SCARY
Are we gonna talk about the fact that Gerald and Shadow were ready to kill themselves if it meant getting revenge?
The way Shadow's face changes and he flashbacks to Maria when he sees Sonic knelt next to Tom begging him to wake up... The parallels between Sonic and Shadow in this film... Oh my goodness...
Sonic getting mad enough to steal the Master Emerald from Knuckles was also NOT on my Sonic 3 bingo chart - I thought we were gonna see them fight each other for a sec which was CRAZY
I'm not the biggest Wade fan but Sonic effortlessly taking the Master Emerald from him and him replying "well I tried" was comedy GOLD - all that training in the Knuckles series for nothing huh 😂
Sonic turning super for vengeance purposes oh my goodness...
Maria's death scene really gave me goosebumps - the way Commander Walters shouts "don't shoot they're children!" - the way Shadow's face changes when he sees Maria dead - the way Gerald was crying...
I think it really says a lot about G.U.N that in this version, they didn't even shoot Maria but they were still actively responsible for her death - that officer DID shoot and he DID try and aim at Maria and that explosion WAS caused by him
Obviously I hate G.U.N but I actually feel kinda bad for Walters now like he really did try to save her didn't he 🫤
Both Gerald and Walters refer to Maria AND Shadow as children which I appreciate cuz it shows how young Shadow really was when everything went to hell for him - he's just a baby your honour he didn't MEAN to blow up earth 🥺
Sonic attacking Shadow in super form was just... WOW! He was REALLY angry wasnt he?
SUPER SONIC VS SUPER SHADOW??? HOLY SHIT!!! THAT BATTLE WAS EPIC!!! 🤯
Sonic almost killing Shadow over him almost killing Tom was a really great way to relate Sonic and Shadow's stories - Sonic coming around when Shadow points to his heart, thinking about what Tom said at the start of the film parallelling Shadow then coming around after remembering what Maria said to him... This is one hell of a film!
Sonic and Shadow watching the sun come up together as Shadow repeats what Maria says about light and stars 😭
"Don't tell me you've got a catchphrase..." "Yep, and everyone loves it!" Another fourth wall break that did NOT disappoint.
LIVE AND LEARRRRRN!!! HANGING ON THE EDGE OF TOMMOROW— 🎶
THEY DID THE SA2 POSE!!! I REPEAT, THEY DID THE SA2 POSE!!! AND IN SUPER FORM TOO!!!
Did they just... fucking... incinerate Gerald... wtf.... RIP I guess...
Shadow attacked those robots with SUPER CHOAS SPEARS in one scene!!! Which is AWESOME!!!
Eggman switching sides cuz even he knows blowing up the world is a bad idea 👍
I could go on and on and on about the Super Sonic and Super Shadow scene IT WAS SO GOOD!!!
Sonic falling to earth gave me a heart attack. Tails then falling to earth whilst trying to save Sonic also gave me a heart attack. Knuckles going to save them both making me think he was also gonna fall to earth gave me a third heart attack.
The way I physically leaned forward in my seat when Shadow took off his inhibitor rings—
They pissed on the moon.
We've seen Shadow smile so much in this film and it is SO refreshing to see! That smile right before he and Sonic team up to attack those robots Gerald sends after them is my favourite smile we've ever seen on him.
Eggman dedicated his last speech before dying to Stone 😭😩🥹 AND STONE SAYING "I CAN'T LOSE YOU AGAIN" THEY BETTER KISS IN THE NEXT FILM I SWEAR—
Team Sonic hug 🥹
Ending on the race was perfect (bonus points for Ozzy barking with subtitles again because that was HILARIOUS)
WE GON RUN IT RUN IT RUN IT TILL WE RUNNING OUTTA ROAD 💃💃💃
OMG AMY! AMY AMY AMY OH MY GOODNESS AMY! HELLO AMY! I'VE MISSED YOU SWEET AMY! AMY AMY AMY AMY AMY AMY!!! I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN I SAW THAT HAMMER! AMY ROSE! HI!!! YOU LOOK SO GOOD!!! AMY AMY AMY!!!
Oh yeah and Metal Sonic.
AMYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
So great to see that Shadow's NOT dead (although tbf I did kinda expect that - it would've been unlikely that they genuinely kill him off when he's such a popular character)
Honestly I think the END end credits scene was a perfect set up for a Shadow spinoff, like they HAVE to make one now
I also think the two end credits scenes together show that Eggman isn't really dead either - again it would be unlikely for them to kill him off PLUS if Shadow managed to chaos control himself out of there he could've easily gone back for Eggman too (and I mean who else is gonna be responsible for creating Metal Sonic?)
AMY, PEOPLE, AMY!!!
Overall, I think it's pretty clear that I LOVED this film! It was amazing and I'm already excited for the next one lol! ❤️

Can you please do this „I just want to be someones first choice“ with ves x reader but ves says this? Ik it‘ll destroy me but I live for pain.
ALSO happy ending please (PLEASE) 😭
First choice
It was so hard for him to genuinely trust again. Every time things were going well Vessel still heard sirens from previous relationships that had ended in disaster. But that didn’t stop him from longing. And longing he did. Constantly catching himself wanting more but just as quickly killing the flame blazing.
But he saw it. Saw it in the smallest of things. Your eyes when you looked at him. Vessel was sure there was so much more there. More than when you looked at others. In your smile. The exciting clapping as you waited for them to get off the stage. The way you would squeeze his hand. Both in a reassuring manner and excitement. Vessel craved these moments. Craved the comfort and ease it brought him. But it terrified him too. More than anything. Because he knew that he had failed to keep his guard up.
“Your tea and I know you said no biscuits but… I still stole some”, you chuckled as you walked into the back room where Vessel had been sitting hiding the whole day. “Your favorite”, you wiggled the packet, before settling it in front of him. Your smile fell once his face didn’t change. “Hey, you haven’t been yourself”, softly reaching out you placed your hand on his shoulder. “Could you close the door”, his voice was so quiet, ripping your heart to shreds as you quickly stood up moving to do just what he had asked you to. “You can tell me”, you reassured him, “I’m good with holding secrets. iii has opened a confessional with me”, You chuckled hoping to lighten the mood but failing miserably once more. “It… you’ll think that I’m insane”, Vessel sighed shaking his head.
“Vess, you could tell me that you have a body there and I wouldn’t ask a question, just go looking for a shovel”, you pointed out, “Nothing you tell me will make me think any different of you”. He turned to you then, his blue eyes piercing you. “Why… why are you like this with me?”, he asked softly. “Why wouldn’t I be?”, you frowned, “You’ve shown me nothing but love and care. The least I could do is meet you with the same amount of affection”, you shrugged, “Plus, you’re special. I’ve told you that before”.
There was always this unspoken softness between you two. It felt like love in silence. From him holding the door open for you. Or making sure that you crossed the road safely. To you always making sure that he always had everything he needed before the show. Or never failing to check on him throughout the day. “You make my head go silent”, he muttered, “It sounds insane but… there are so many things there and you just make it go away”, Vessel lets his head hang down with a sigh. “That makes me happy”, you mutter pushing your finger beneath his chin, “I feel safe with you too”, you smile down at him.
“I want to be someone’s first choice but I’m bad at these things”, he admits and you can hear that raw pain there. All of it. “You are. Have been my number one for a while”, you admitted feeling your heart skip a beat as you watched realization slowly sinking in. “I didn’t want to come at you full force, I know that you’ve been hurt before and…”, “You genuinely want this”, Vessel pointed at himself in disbelief. “Why did you say it like that?”, you frowned, “I want you, the way that you are. All parts of you are beautiful, Vess”, you cupped his face and looked at him. He nodded slowly. “Can you just… hold me for a bit?”, he asked as if embarrassed. “Anything you want, darling”, you brushed your finger over his cheek before stepping closer. His arms instantly wrapped around his torso as he pressed his face into your stomach. Breathing you in. Grounding himself as you softly plaid with his hair just letting him be.

after watching doc's perspective i have more things to say.
- the objections. oh boy.
- so many things were objected to. very few (read: only one) were made on genuine legal basis (defense's heresay objection on the tinnitus was correct in the fact that what xb was saying was inadmissable! but it was not heresay. id say the objection should have gone more towards improper expert testimony as xb is not a doctor, or simply an objection based on the fact xb was not on the stand and thus could not give any opinions as a non-legal rep)
- "being mean" is not an objectionable action. badgering the witness is!
- also there are proceedures for hostile witnesses, which i felt jevin kind of was at times
- both sides did a really good job at not leading the witnesses. it didn't feel like anyone was forcing a line of questioning to an unruly degree
- bdubs going against the jury's final judgement (guilty) is something we don't see too often in america- but it is something i actually agree with in this instance.
- bdubs' speech on "creative freedom" is an act of what we call judicial activism. bdubs used his power as a judge to outline certain protections for civilians, going somewhat out of his way/out of the confines of his powers in a case to do so. this case sets a precedent for hermits' abilities to build whatever they want.
- the comment on "common sense laws" made by cub was delicous. it also makes me wonder- what is common sense to the hermits? sure, don't grief bases. yes, the shopping district does require the exchange of payment for goods and you do have to pay for said goods in the way the vendor requires. but in hermitcraft, crazy things happen all the time. frequently we see players attack one another for simple transgressions taken- is it common sense to allow one to strike another? is it common sense to kill another hermit as a punishment for their actions?
- i also appreciate bdubs for sentancing doc to skyblock for hijacking the trial. typically a lawyer would be charged with contempt of court for acting untowardly during trial, and i think skyblock is exactly that.
oh boy another hermitcraft court case. watched it and my brain exploded like a cuboom firework. the things i've seen as a real life judicial aid and law school student will never compare to the trial.
so here is my analysis of said case:
- glad the judge kept the plaintiff going first! he is right, the defense doesnt know what case to argue against without knowing the case to begin with
- while i love the addition of a jury, typically juries are selected before either side makes a single argument. theres also a whole jury selection process that takes a while, but seeing how one side chose to not prepare anything (which is a real defense i've seen used in a real case before) maybe this was for the better lol
- also, to my knowledge most of the jury (in some way) was a part of the case - i mean the defense even brought this up. the jury was never going to be impartial. however, what confused me more was the usage of "hermitcraft" in the overarching hermitcraft v mumbo case. this verbiage implies not just beef or xb, but the whole server are claiming harm from mumbo's actions.
- furthermore, outside the courthouse there was a banner boasting "xb vs mumbo" but bdubs said "hermitcraft vs mumbo" so i'm going with the words of the judge and what would be on the theoretical court record. this continues to make me wonder what "hermitcraft" classifies as. is it a sovereign nation? is it a state? is it a confederacy of hermits? if hermitcraft, in this specific case, entailed the server as a nation then this should have been a criminal case.
- i need to stop thinking about this aspect of the case or else my brain will explode but i desperately hope for some case law defining this in the future.
- similar to the zombiecleo v docm77 case, defense's lack of witnessess was alarming. defense having only one witness in comparison to the plaintiff's three is severely unbalanced, it only gave the defense a third of the oppurtunity to prove mumbo's innocence (not that they were claiming mumbo didn't commit the actions accused of him)
- i appreciate the judge not allowing for party reps/witnesses to act as agents of the case (objecting, arguing, ect). when bdubs asked jevin where his bar card was i actually felt tears welling in my eyes from laughter.
- the plaintiff's case did a good job in throwing a lot of stuff at the defense. however, i feel they spread themselves too thin with having so many elements to the case (vandalism, noise pollution, enviromental pollution, lost wages, ect), and if they had focused on one or two aspects their case would have been much stronger
- specifically i think they should have focused on the enviromental damage perspective. the other "charges" focused too much on the social ramifications of actions taken by both mumbo and "hermitcraft"
- as for the defense, i think they could have completely gone with the defense of "freedom of expression".
- every single charge could have been easily knocked aside with this defense. it would play to bdubs' (american) brain's inherent obsession with freedom of speech, protest, assembly- just the first amendment overall. oh, the bricks? that was a protest. it is mumbo's right to protest against actions he does not agree with. the noise? the "toxic" enviroment? that's mumbo's expressed creative thoughts. it's his own individual style. he's expressing his own thoughts.
- i think the defense was right on about the train of the food prices too high, but they focused on it too much.
- i also appreciated their use of their singular witness in cub- it is absolutely right to point out there are no written peramiters for zones of builds and such.
overall i think this trial was slightly more on par with a traditional american trial than previous tall claims court cases!! i think bdubs' judgement was just. and most importantly, i can't wait for more cases to analyse (:
