I think one of the funniest things they could do with this (unconfirmed) new special is just randomly drop in at some point that Rimmer and Lister have actually been married for decades at this point and it was just never bought up by either of them because they didn't think it was important or they just didn't realise that anyone would want to know.

don't mind my delerium but
Lister has a nightmare that the gravity stops working on red dwarf. this causes chaos and a bit of panic in his dream. when he wakes up from the nightmare the gravity on the ship is still, thankfully, working; but after venturing out of his bunk he finds the lifeless bodies of his crewmates floating around, seemingly unaffected by the gravity he is very much experiencing, he tries to pull some of them to their beds but they keep floating up. he needs to figure out why they got like this, why do they seem dead, they have no wounds, they're just eerily floating around in the halls, unresponsive and limp in the air, ther eyes open, staring in to nothing, but occasionally their eyes go straight trough Lister. what's Lister gonna do with the weight of figuring this out as his crew literally looms over him
#red dwarf#i want more sci fi consepts#:(#i'm thinking- some gelf or bacterial virus that uses the crew as ballons kindof and eats their insides to store the helium or what the fuck#the thing they produce.#the problem with this is that the crew would then actually be dead (see their insides are gone) sooooo#idk i just want Lister to stuble out and see Rimmer's lifrless body in the cieling (he can be confused. as a treat)
