really fucking grinds my gears the way the local con mark community pass off the numerous ppl pointing out that they are facilitating scam campaigns for gazawi refugees (which are of dubious philanthropic value even when legitimate) as trying to compensate for guilt about their laziness and greed and primarily motivated by fear the scam marks are getting shortchanged

the primary victims of these illegitimate campaigns (and, to an extent, the legitimate ones too) are, ofc, the suffering palestinians in gaza being fraudulently deprived the charitable contributions that would be coming their way if the scam marks allocated their giving more prudently; the marks are an additional, secondary set of victims. hence the calls and receipts for donations to reputable charities like the unrwa and pcrf

I'm taking a break from Tumblr. I'm still getting more gazawi followers, I'm getting tagged everywhere, I'm getting submissions and dms like crazy, and I don't understand why. I have pretty much no following. I cannot donate. I have no money. I am so broke I cannot afford food for myself or to pay my medical and credit card debt. I'm not sure what reputation I have but it is undeserved. I cannot help anyone. Sharing posts is doing nothing. I'm getting more and more frustrated and depressed having to say no 20-30 times a day. I hate ignoring people but I can't do this.

There's a movement in our school that we decided to show support and sympathy to Palestine with art and poems. Is there a certain thing you want others to hear about the current situation?

I've been thinking about this ask since you sent it, anon. I am honestly flattered you seek my opinion and thoughts. It is very sweet you.

I feel, though, that my personal opinions are not as important as Gazans. Those Gazans are writing their last words on socials, begging for people to help them, showing the bodies of their babies on camera just for the hope that no more children of theirs will die. I want to emphasize: Gazawi (or gazans) are experiencing unbearable torture, not only with the bombs but with the threat of starvation and dehydration becoming two very real possibilities of death. Not only are they living in fear of bombings, which no one should have to experience, they're worrying about where they're going to get their next meal — how they're going to feed their families and where they're going to get clean water from.

The fuel issues are also something that will only enhance the death toll to unimaginable levels. And some Gazawi, at this point, are recording their final moments not because they think someone will save them — but as proof that they lived, so we all can bear witness to what's happening to them right now.

I suppose what I'd like people to know is: this is not fair. No one should have to experience this. No one should *have* to fight for their freedom. It should have been a natural part of their lives a long time ago. I'm angry that they have to fight for morsels in this world. Why did we come to this point? Why did we build our societies like this? Why are we watching their slaughter so plainly? What is the point of life if such atrocities happen?

Please keep the Gazans in mind. Bear witness to the things they've seen and experienced. Save their videos, screenshot their tweets, keep their statements so that we can honor their final wishes. At this point, it's the least we can do.

There are, ofc, fully palestinian led organisations providing assistance to the ppl of gaza on a scale similar to that of the unrwa, "vetted" by gazawis themselves, in a more efficient manner than picking and choosing individual families to nudge towards victory in the daily flight-to-egypt lottery. Their infrastructure has suffered seriously in the wake of the genocide, ofc, but they are still extant and will be particularly important in any reconstruction efforts worth contributing to in the aftermath

These organisations have names like "hamas" and "palestinian islamic jihad" and "popular front for the liberation of palestine" and much of the value they provide to the ppl of gaza is by means western govts generally condemn as terrorism. I will not be encouraging, let alone providing instructions for, wiring funds to these institutions on a public blog, for reasons i hope i do not have to spell out, but if you really want to and dont mind a target for the fbi and cia squarely on yr forehead you are certainly free to try
