COVER REVEAL! The artwork and layout for my soon-to-be-released novel, My Summer (and the Song of Cicadas), have been finalized!
ABOUT THIS BOOK AND ITS SERIES: Beginning with My Summer (with Robots), the Quinton's Curious Mind Series follows the highly creative and equally anxious Quinton Wyatt throughout his high school years.
When first introduced, Quinton's a fourteen-year-old who lives in his own world — a mostly imaginary place where his best friends are robots who shelter him from some of the unpleasant realities of his personal life. Then, he meets T.J. Shapleigh, and everything changes.
Quinton discovers that his not-so-secret elementary school crush has grown into a handsome and confident young man who clearly likes Quint as much as Quint likes him! Their journey together through My Summer (Under a Crescent Moon) and the upcoming My Summer (and the Song of Cicadas) is one of first love, crushing heartbreak, personal redemption, forgiveness, and triumph.

The Water Outlaws by S. L. Huang
Mountain outlaws on the margins of society, the Bandits of Liangshan proclaim a belief in justicefor women, for the downtrodden, for progressive thinkers a corrupt Empire would imprison or destroy. They’re also murderers, thieves, smugglers, and cutthroats. Together, they could bring down an empire.
Now available in paperback!
Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune
The long-awaited sequel to The House in the Cerulean Sea is a story of resistance, lovingly told, about the daunting experience of fighting for the life you want to live and doing the work to keep it. Welcome back to Marsyas Island—home to six magical and purportedly dangerous children. This is Arthur’s story.

The West Passage by @jpechacek
When the Guardian of the West Passage dies in her bed, the women of Grey Tower feed her to the crows and go back to their chores. No successor is named, and no hand takes up the fallen blade, so the West Passage—the ancient byways of the beast—goes unguarded. This is a weird and delightful journey across a deliriously medieval landscape where decay thrives in abundance and giant Ladies rule a palace the size of a city.
Blood Debts by Terry J. Benton-Walker
On the thirtieth anniversary of the largest magical massacre in New Orleans history, Clement and Cristina Trudeau mourn their father and care for their sick mother. But their mother isn’t sick, they learn: She’s cursed. Cursed by a member of the same magic council over which she used to preside. Cursed by someone who will come for Clement and Cristina next.

Bury Your Gays by @drchucktingle
After so many years, Misha’s big Oscar moment is here. All he has to do? Kill off the gay characters in his long-running streaming series, “for the algorithm.” Misha refuses, but that’s hardly the end, because monsters from his old horror movie days have begun to step out from the silver screen and stalk him.
The Brides of High Hill by Nghi Vo
The Cleric Chih accompanies a young bride to her wedding to Lord Guo, the aging ruler of a crumbling estate, but amid the elaborate courtesies and extravagant banquets, they realize something haunts the shadowed halls. As the big night nears close, Chih will learn that not all monsters dwell in shadows; some hide in plain sight.

Remedial Magic by Melissa Marr
1) An unassuming librarian falls in love with a powerful witch.
2) Previous librarian discovers she too is a witch…
3) …and that she must attend magical community college to learn how to save her new world from annihilation.
Swordcrossed by @fahye
Part-time con artist / full-time charming menace Luca Piere didn’t expect to get blackmailed into teaching a chronically responsible merchant Matti how to wield a sword. He also didn’t expect to find his charge so inconveniently handsome, or to get so entangled in his tale of intrigue, sabotage, and matrimony.
It’s important to read Swordcrossed because while you’re reading gay fiction, you can also study the blade.

I have no idea what teen wolf is about but do elaborate about the alex marquez stiles stilinski thing
okay well first off go watch teen wolf it sucks. you should do it. SECOND it’s more about narrative roles than a one-to-one personality thing (although they aren’t TOO dissimilar lmao) where stiles is our main character scott’s best friend in the entire world and fr they do EVEYTHING together and if they ARENT doing everything together they both become miserable and start literally threatening suicide. that is not an exaggeration teen wolf season three episode whatever “hotel california” understands me in this issue. just two insanely codependent little partners on crime. very marc and alex 2 me. i also think. if i remember correctly because it’s been a MINUTE. that there’s an interesting sort of half implication early on in teen wolf that stiles (human) kind of resents that scott was the guy who got turned into a werewolf and gets special sports powers and basically is the clear protagonists of their lives. but this very quickly gets dropped because he just loves scott an insane amount so any sort of thread of resentment literally doesn’t even matter because that’s his specialest guy in the world for real which is ALSOOOOO very marc and alex to me. like fundamentally !

thiam hospital parking lot argument is so personal to me because it clearly showcases how theo’s way of lashing out at liam is to remind him that he hasn’t changed at all and liam’s way of trying to hurt him back is saying that he already knows. which just hits so good because at this point we’re beginning to see that theo has changed whether he wants to admit it or not. right before they get into this argument, theo (in his own way) warns liam off of the idea that he can be trusted, which is something that the old theo would have never done. he would have taken advantage of it. as the rest of the episode plays out it becomes obvious that theo’s threat to leave liam behind was an empty one. as for liam only seeing theo for the monster he was before his resurrection— i think the desperation on his face as he tries to claw his way out of the elevator speaks for itself.

i love the sun and the star so much. yes, am i disappointed with the ratio will to nico? yes. but is it still one of my fav books? absolutely.
people who say nico was “not in character” CLEARLY missed the whole fucking point of the book. the book was supposed to show you how much nico has grown. hes not 11 anymore and living by himself with minos. hes not even 13 anymore during HOO. hes 14 and has learned so much. first off he has a bf??? that’s obviously going to change a little bit on how he acts. hes living at chb. hes ACCEPTED himself as being gay. thats going to change how he acts at least a bit. hes not going to resent everything and himself anymore. hence him “not being in character”. his whole character is not being moody and sassy and stuff. the last line(s) of the book was something along the lines of: he had hope; and he clung to it. hello????? bro thats almost the complete opposite of of how he was a year ago. this is the first book we acc get to see (not including toa) how he acc acts. being happy, having friends, family, a bf. hes not going to act the same. i will never stop reminding ppl that tsats is a CO-WRITTEN book. meaning TWO ppl, not just rick, wrote the book.
next is it was cringey??? and like a fanfic?? yes at some points i found myself cringing at some lines, but thats every book i read. its not going to be perfect. its a book written in 2023 with characters and author who write/were written during like late 2000s/2010s. its going to be a lil cringe. next its gonna give off fanfic vibes. the two main, basically only characters, were two gay teenagers. what do u expect. PLUS this is basically ricks first time writing these characters together. sure, during HOO nico got some time but this was the first time rick has really gotten into nicos character. and this is ricks first time writing wills character. and writing them together. this was basically an experiment. (and marks first time writing them and stuff)
so, please, before you go hating on tsats, acc think abt why this and this. there is no problem with just not enjoying the book. but hating on it for these silly stupid reasons?? girl bye.

It all started with MY SUMMER (WITH ROBOTS), the story of a 14-year-old nerd boy named Quinton whose wild imagination helped him deal with his anxiety over his personal life and the onset of high school. Then, he met T.J. Shapleigh, and everything changed.
Read Book 1 and 2 in the Quinton's Curious Mind series and get ready for the conclusion of this series later this year with MY SUMMER (AND THE SONG OF CICADAS).

What if I wrote a book about two 17 year old boys living in a small town in Czechia — Tomáš, a cocky footballer with a mother as a baker and dreams of becoming a lawyer in Prague, and Zbyněk; the son of a priest. He’s quiet boy, and his father wants him to pursue life in the church, yet what he desires is to become an architect, so he spends his days draiwng concepts of elaborate buildings, and definitely none of Tomáš while he runs around in the field down the hill from his bedroom window at dusk, the gentle light reflecting on his wavy brown hair as the daylight fades behind him. Nothing like that at all, of course.
And one day while Zbyněk is walking out onto a trail outside of town, maybe that day Tomáš decides to follow behind and out of sight. Maybe the boy he used to tease having this ritual piques his interest. Maybe when Zbyněk leaves he forgets his sketch book when he sees the time. And maybe Tomáš picks it up. And when Zbyněk goes to the bakery the next day Tomas remembers it’s in his bag, so he taunts him without seeing the contents. He waves ig in front of his head, and when Zbyněk lunges for it one page rips out and falls to Tomáš’s feet — and he sees a familiar face staring back at him, drawn with precision and care, the lines forming each shape and scribble formed delicately on paper. Maybe Zbyněk grabs it quickly and runs out of the bakery, and Tomas stands watching hun hurry out back up to that hill. He’s always back on that hill.
What about that? Would you read that Tumblr? Would you?

me and earl and the dying girl is one of my all-time favorite books for many reasons, but one element I’m appreciating more this reread is that greg has such an obvious debilitating anxiety disorder, and probably ocd as well, and it’s so interesting to read about that from the perspective of someone who absolutely has no idea that’s even a thing
