genuinely cannot express how happy i am with the state of grian in session 7. starting the episode talking to mumbo and skizz's graves like they're still there (going mad with grief), saying he concocted a whole scheme just to bring them back because he loves them (gay and abusing his powers about it, a 2 for 1), getting killed by mumbo and being INCREDIBLY hurt by it (punished by the universe for loving someone, as usual), immediately becoming an angry bitter red (best flavor of grian), chasing mumbo down to kill him and shouting that he's a traitor and then saying "why did you take mumbo away from me!?" sounding like hes going to cry when he disappears (he's grieving Badly; also points for love and murder getting mixed up, this always seems to happen with these two)

i wanted the spanners' death to drive him kind of insane with grief and this is better than anything i could've asked for. and this isn't even mentioning him being sooooo mad about people not killing each other (watcher behavior). he's gone full deranged widow mode and it's awesome

Remus looked at Benjy's smiling face in confusion.

"You want to go on a date? With me?"

Benny laughed. "Am I so bad?"

Remus hesitated. "I don't know," he said, doubtfully. "I just..." am in love with someone else, he finished silently.

"Look," Benjy said. "We're friends, right?" At Remus's nod, he continued. "So it won't be a total bore. Plus," he said, playfully as he started walking backwards down the corridor, "It may get Black off his arse to actually do something."

Remus started. "Wait... Benjy, wait, what?" he called.

"I can't hear you!" came Benjy's voice as he turned and walked away, his voice full of laughter.

"Has he seen us yet?"

Remus looked up from the menu at Benjy and frowned. "Has who seen us?"

Benjy sighed loudly and rolled his eyes. "Merlin, you're hopeless," he said, affectionately.

Benjy leaned back in his chair, looked around and smiled wickedly after seeing something in the corner behind Remus. Benjy reached out to clasp Remus's hand, stroking his thumb over the knuckles.

A loud crash came from the corner behind Remus followed by a chair scraping across the floor and Benjy laughed out loud. "Oh, yes," he said, grinning. "He's definitely seen you now."

"Moony?" came a familiar voice behind him.

"Right," Benjy said, standing up. "I'll leave you two to it." Remus hardly noticed as he walked away as he turned around to meet a pair of familiar grey eyes.

Remus and Sirius stared at each other for a long moment before Remus smiled softly.

"Hi," Remus said.

Sirius also smiled, equally softly. "Hi," he repeated.

I can’t help but wonder if, despite being in his thirties, this is Alan’s first time falling in love.

He has no idea what to do at any point and is generally acting like a love struck teenager with the added pressure that Jeff is just…so much younger than him. So now not only does he not know what to do, he seems well aware of the fact that way he would try going about it, is VERY different from the way people Jeff’s age would.
