I have lost count how many lives I have relived at this point, but to summarize this run in short so:

a young Antiphonus was best friends with Cal, when both of them tried to date Tammy; in the end, Antiphonus was more straightforward when it came to date Tammy.

due to having super strength, Antiphonus was known to love sports. That's how he bonded with the kids in both Stratos and Helios over the years.

during his youth, Antiphonus became super close with Nem and some how, managed to fix Nem's and Cal's relationship. "It's good to see her happy, even if they do still get along like oil and water", they say.

The biggest point during this new life, was overthrowing Lum from his position as a Governor. This way Marz got her position as a new Governor of Vertumna, which even lead to peace with the Gardeners. Though, this peace cost Sym's life. "Nothing is ever truly gone. Energy can't be destroyed. Even if you never see Sym again in this lifetime, you have him to thank for this peace. Every breath you take is in his memory."

Role of the Chrysalis/Pilots: Under the control of the military. Instead of being seen as royalty, Pilots are similar to WWE stars. There are storylines, arcs, and on-screen characterizations that pilots play into for the entertainment of the everyday people. They have sponsors and endorsements same as any other celebrity. Though most pilots don't die in battle, most die from their addictions. Also same as any other celebrity.

Tributes: This is the the US. Christian Fundamentalism is baked into this country. Tributes playout similar to the Lottery. People are "randomly selected" to be raptured up to Heaven every year. In reality, the Lottery is rigged to remove potential dissidents and political rivals, with only a few random fanatics chosen to make it look legit.

Chrysalis Creatures: I initially though of the Chrysalis taking the form of either the Zodiac or Angels, but they didn't feel American enough. Then I went with the most American thing I could think of, Cryptids! Almost every state has legends of cryptids or strange creatures. The two I have so far are the pilots for the Moth Man (Camilo Esteves) and Fresno Nightcrawler (Celine Esteves).

Why anyone fights: One: because it protects everyday citizens. Two: The government offers free healthcare and free college to all pilots. BUT. You have to STAY a pilot to have access to these benefits. You also have to be 18+ to join, same as the actual military. But people can be scouted as early as 13.

Yin/Yang: Many people use the Male/Female piloting arrangement as justification for monogamy, heteronormativity, allonormativity, and amatonormativity as the natural "true state" of human relationships. Non normative relationships and pilot positioning's are frowned upon, even though research shows that it is possible. Though most pilots will marry their pilot partner, some don't. The twins Camilo and Celine Esteves both didn't marry their pilot partners. Camilo married a citizen and Celine married a sponsor. This does cause tensions, as many citizens believed that balanced partners = true love/soulmates situation. This is not helped by the fact this is how it is sold narratively to the average citizen in media.

I think it would be interesting watching Wu Zetian and her group interact with American culture. I mostly would love to see Zetian go through a mini bi-panic arc for fun!

Sjiwjwiwqnjawn it feels silly to start writing about an 8 year old oc again, in a way. But it also feels like i missed out on a lot bc i was younger at the time...its hard to describe. Idk, my brain wasnt fully developed i couldn't cook oc lore as hard as I can now, i didnt have the skill i wanted to show my ideas like I do (kinda) now. Idk i feel like im in a weird place where it feels too late to really make my mark and share stuff about him while knowing ive been yapping a lot about him as i go through the story and flesh out parts of him i either forgot or felt too cringe to actually.

After a long break (and after playing Haven for few hours to get into the mood lol), I finished my 7th run of “I Was A Teenage Exocolonist”. Technically this is the 8th run, since during my 6th run I did two endings in one save file. Man I wasn’t ready for the waterworks 😭

In the last Chinese New Year post we talked about some of the traditions that accompany the new year's celebrations. We did not, by any means, cover all of them. A quarter of the world's population celebrate the Spring Festival and that's a lot of room for a lot of different traditions. For this post, I'd like to talk about some of the dishes eaten for the festival that have meanings that go a little deeper than simply being tasty, though they are that as well. I am not going to be able to mention all of them so I hope that everyone feels absolutely free to include them in the notes, tags or reblogs.

One can never have too many delicious food suggestions.

Let's start off with a familiar one. In many parts of Northern China, dumplings are front and center when it comes to meals. This is because the Chinese symbol for dumpling 饺子 sounds like 交子. 交 means 'exchange' and 子 is 'midnight'. So this play on word-sounds means to exchange the old with the new at midnight. In some areas the stuffing in the dumplings needs to be egg for prosperity in the coming year. The dumpling itself is reminiscent of silver ingots and the egg therefor adds gold to things as well. Alternately, you can add meat and bamboo strips which will make sure that everything you will need in the coming year will come your way. Don't use anything pickled however as this might lead to a difficult future. And lastly, don't forget to add a coin or a long thread to one of the dumplings. Whoever is lucky enough to find the coin will have good fortune and the thread is for long life (as long as no one chokes on it!).

Don't forget the fish either. The symbol for fish sounds a great deal like the symbol for 'extra'. Make sure to eat the middle of the fish but not the head or the tail. This will help you finish everything you start, from 'head to toe (well, tail)' so to speak. Also you shouldn't eat the whole fish in one sitting. Stretch it out into two meals so that your prosperity and extra will stretch out for the whole year as well. Have a business you want to thrive? Add red peppers to the cooking fish. Not only is red a lucky color, the spiciness of the meal will lead to a lively future for your business as well.

Nian gao is a must. Originally reserved for the gods and ancestors as offerings, these rice cakes have since become a tasty treat for everyone. Gao sounds like the word for 'higher'. Hence, if you want to go higher in the new year, you've got a very good reason to tuck into these delicious cakes.

You also want to keep an eye out for turnip cakes. They're made of shredded Chinese radish. 'Radish' sounds similar to 'good luck and fortune' so this is a tasty way to bring exactly that into the new year. These cakes are especially popular on the seventh day of the festival as a reminder that the goddess Nu Wa created humans on the seventh day.

Don't turn up your nose at unprepared food either. Oranges, kumquats and tangerines have a golden color that is sure to bring in prosperity in the coming year. Peaches will bring longevity and health. Muskmelon and grapefruit symbolize family and hope. And if you want a large family, start eating pomegranates.
