If you weren’t following the Netflix Marvel shows when they were first being released, here’s my best attempt at summarizing how the audience/fandom reacted to them:

Daredevil S1: “OMG, best Marvel show ever! I love this darker side of the MCU!”

Jessica Jones S1: “OMG, best Marvel show ever! I love this darker side of the MCU! Marvel does female representation right!”

Daredevil S2: “Punisher was amazing! Elektra and the Hand…eh.”

Luke Cage S1: (first half) “OMG, best Marvel show ever! I love this darker side of the MCU! Marvel does black representation right!” / (second half) “This show is corny and terrible. They did Mahershala Ali dirty.”

Iron Fist S1: “Wtf is this shit?”

The Defenders: “That was certainly a crossover. They did cross over. And things happened.”

The Punisher S1: “This is fine, but it’s tone deaf for Marvel to make this show when we need gun control now.”

Jessica Jones S2: “The story is all over the place. What’s even the focus here? What the heck is happening?”

Luke Cage S2: “I guess this is better than S1 but I still hate that Mahershala Ali got killed off so soon.”

Iron Fist S2: “Better than S1, but that’s not saying much. Also, I welcome our new Iron Fist, Colleen Wing.”

Daredevil S3: “They redeemed the Netflix Marvel shows! Hallelujah!”

The Punisher S2: “This feels rushed. Like there’s two seasons worth of story here.”

Jessica Jones S3: “Wait, this exists? I literally saw no ads for this.”

I think about the fact that Marvel is choosing Iron Fist over Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to come back in the MCU. Iron Fist. Danny fucking Rand. Iron Fist. Of all shows, of all characters, you're bringing HIM back??

Over Daisy, May, Coulson, FitzSimmons, and so much more? You want him back?

And then I realize that I'm a-okay with them ruining him cause it's not like Danny was even that good in the first place. Keep AoS away

just remembered that the defenders were not the found family i’ve convinced myself they were to be. like wdym they don’t all reluctantly get together on thanksgiving. wdym colleen and matt don’t occasionally team up or chat on rooftops while they’re on patrol. wdym karen and jess don’t become close friends. wdym luke and danny don’t hang out often. wdym they all didn’t get together for colleen and danny’s wedding. wdym foggy and luke aren’t kind of friends. wdym colleen misty and claire don’t go to bars together.
