I don't know if I can even find the post from Reddit so here's a rundown of some thoughts about The End
ā¢ While it's weird that the Ender Dragon doesn't have any teleport-related power even though it shares most of the same pallet and particles of mobs from there Endermen/Endermites/Shulkers, it's possible that the reason why we can only get out of The End dimension by killing them is because its crystals have Ender Eyes, potentially connecting with The End portal
ā¢ It's also possible that the reason why the Ender Dragon egg can teleport while the dragon herself can't do it might be because the egg developed or absorbed some of the teleport properties from the End Crystals
ā¢ There's a possibility of Enderman being related to Nether portals due to the minimal size of it being the exact measure which a Enderman can fit perfectly along while also sharing the same colors and particles
as a last note, I still hope we can find more discussions of Minecraft lore

So, I know I'm a little (very) late to the AvA stuff, but I was rewatching AvM Season 3 for the seven hundredth time and, well, I noticed something and I'm curious to know if it's been discussed before.
AvM Episode 29, Purple's story, specifically, Pink's death.
Her color changes as she dies, or is represented to have died.
It fades to grey.
Now, the question is, can we, or rather should we, use this to infer anything lore-related? Was this just an artistic choice to depict the act of becoming unhealthy/dying, or could this be what actually happens to stick figures that die over a period of time? Are their colors linked to their health?
Let's have a bit of fun with it, and presume that the fading of one's color can happen to a stick figure for health-related reasons, as the scene could imply.
This fading seems to involve loosing the saturation of one's color into grey. Saturation is how vibrant a color is, and the complete lack of saturation is greyscale.
The World-of-Alan reason for Pink's death is that she 'got sick', which is where the health connection of this theory comes from. If she did loose her color as she was dying as the notes depict, that loss of color was likely a result of her failing health rather than any other factors, like age or outside variables. A whole bunch of human body stuff are indicators for good vs poor health, including skin color (jaundice and cyanasis are good examples) so why not a stick's color for them?
What if, when they fully die, they lose all of their original color?
Now, let me propose thisā¦
Who else do we know of who has had their color loose vibrancy?
What if Victim's color has lightened because he's ill?
#I started this post because I was legitimately interested in how Pink's death was portrayed#And ended with with a Game Theory tier nonsense theory#āWhat is Victim's sick? Ignore the major ass-kicking he gave Chosen in Ep10 let's just contemplate this theory.ā#That being said I am still very curious to see if there will be a canon/lore reason for it bc I think it'd be neat#Alternative victim's color crack theory: He's just old for a stick figure.#Bonus angst: King gets the flu at some point and his color dulls a little bit as he's sick and Purple freaks the hell out#bc he thinks King is dying like his mother#But King is totally confused he's just like ākid chill it's just the fluā-#alan becker#animation vs animator#animator vs animation#animation vs minecraft#ava#avm Pink#ava victim#Just for those people: I am aware the real reason Victim's color was changed was to differentiate him from TCO#I read the wikis before I post this sort of stuff

The winners of the life series all had their own ways of winning:
1. Grian loyalty, playing into every one of Scar's schemes no matter how stupid they seemed. His win came from blood and tears, a descion made surronded by sand and cacti.
2. Scott defiance, he was never going to play the game the way it was designed. Why would he take life needlessly, no his win came from the refusal to do the watchers bidding.
3. Pearl alone, discarded by her soulmate, discarded by the one who pulled her into the nether in the first place. She won with her ties cut, she won not of her own descion but of the one who decided for her.
4. Martyn scavenger, taking time where most convient, stealing kills from right under peoples noses. His win came when even his trusted ally had his guard down, feral and desperate for just a drop more time, even if it left him frenzied and alone.

MUMBO JUMBO S10 LORE THEORY/OVERVEIW: immortality
Right I have a lot of things to explain, you may be wonderingā¦does mumbo even have lore? And Iād have to tell you yes yes he very much does and itās stuck in my brain like a worm.
And I believe he has planned it since episode 9 of his hermitcraft seriesā¦
Iāll start in chronological order.
Firstly: when mumbo is planning and drawing out his base he has a small box at the bottom with numbers. That is what is going to be the data base in episode 20 , where he talks about him / all his inventionsā¦ living on forever. (This will be a major theme)
Now that in its self is not enough to prove anythingā¦ but in episode 25ā¦ the laboratory we learn about what a certain company is trying to achieve in their endeavours.
It talks of a couple major things: red stone researchā¦artificial intelligenceā¦preservation of the lived experienceā¦
But the biggest of all āsoon we will be living forever..ā
And they are going to āstart human trails shortlyā¦ā
Also in this same episode, Mumbo changes his skin and starts to grey.
It goes from thisā¦
To thisā¦ and it happens midway through the episode:
(Both taken from episode 25)
So we know that the mined labaratory is testing with artificial intelligence and red stone to attempt to create some sort of immortality situation. And mumbo is being directly effected by it via aging.
But the MOST DARNED evidence is within episode 29 at the very beginning!!! He made an entire cinematic sequenceā¦
(I canāt place the clip but seriously go watch it itās sooo good!)
From thisā¦ we are able to see testing cellsā¦ that have chicken noises and villager noises coming from them.
Where we can sort of tell:
- one: the chickens have been tested on in order to possibly experiment on their entire life cycle. (Egg, embryo, chick, chicken..)
- two: the humans within the cinematicā¦talk in villager noises. So human trials have definitely started.
Then the dialogue shows even moreā¦
āI got the notification, is it done?ā
āItās doneā¦ā and then we see thisā¦
A mindā¦ is 100% mappedā¦
THEN! Midway episode 32 he changes his skin again to grey even more!
(You may say that is because he is literally being sued but that kinda just speedens the process a bit)
So here is the basic parts I have put together in a small synopsis theory:
Mumbo is essentially patient zero, the mined company want to preserve intelligence , to see if after they die they can live as an ai. They have tested on animals, and villagers/ humans (not too sure) but now want mumboās intelligence via documenting it all onto a computer. Where it gets trained into an ai that is a replica of the person mind, their personalityā¦every little bit about themselvesā¦that why the brain is 100% mapped..because it is 100% copiedā¦ the data base, is also apart of this.. and is actually connected to mumbo in some sort of way, storing all the inventions and red stone ideas he has ever made to be placed into the ai algorithm.
This is very much having a bad effect on mumbo himself, as he seems to be aging much quickerā¦.as if in trying to preserve life they are making it fade more quicklyā¦
But the real question is what is going to end up happening well I have two theoryās for you thereā¦.
Silly theory: Grumbot.
You see when mumbo changed his skin it no longer had the waffleā¦so that possibly means that when minded was mapping out mumboās brainā¦it picked a up a bit of an anomaly..such asā¦.someoneās soulā¦
Griansā¦ (mwahhaa). So while trying to obtain a obedient ai that could persevere all of mumboās intelligence of red stone and inventions forever through the data base. They have also inadvertently picked up a bit of Grian within the ai (which is why the waffle from mumboās skin disapeared, due to the fact itās now in the ai)ā¦ creating the famously charming Grumbot!!!
Angst theory: Ai after death
Mumbo is going to die due to the rapid aging that the mined company has placed on himā¦in which causes them to create basically an ai replica of mumbo, placing him in a robot body where he is essentially āreplacedā by his robot version, and that ai is just now him (kinda like Astro boy)
So yeahā¦.this took 2 hoursā¦I need help, the brain rot is bad. Um thanks!

The Worlds of Minecraft gone past
there are theory's about the natural spawning builds in Minecraft that were clearly build by someone of higher intelligence than the natural spawning entitys.
Things like ship wrecks, Ocean Monument, especially the ancient city's and most recently the trial chambers.
Theres the apocalypse theory of a long lost civilization leaving these thing as traces of their former glory with us never knowing who build these.
But it may be simpler than that
Minecraft at first, was an empty world. Then some Players joined and filled that empty World.
When new Players joined a while later, the World was not quite as empty anymore.
We were our own lost Civilization.
At least i have lost one big world where i build City's, Escape Rooms and Temples.
How many more have been forgotten or abandoned?

My theory on how Victim came back.
You remember in AVA 3 I think it was where at the end, TCO and TDL did that stupid move at the end creating a portal to suck in all of Alanās apps on his PC?
You know, photos, his files, etc etc were sucked in. You know what else was sucked in?
THE RECYCLING BINš±š±š±š±š±š„š„š„š„š„š„
Yea basic HC that like that portal lead to Stickcity, meaning that TDL and TCO assisted in Victimās revival.

(while i am crumbling into pieces from cramp pain)
back when they announced the totk masterworks book i said i wasnt happy about it bc it would either
prove they thought all this was good from the start and everything went as planned
show us that they had unbelievable better ideas and plans but for some unknow reason scrapped it all
as it stands now with the concepts i have seen ... they somehow did both, some things seemed to have been planned fro mthe start (the whole focus on sonau/zonai stuff for example, which i personally just dont like bc i liked them better as an unkown mystery you never get to meet) and other stuff (like ganondorfs concepts, or the infinitely cooler castle in the sky esque concepts for the sky islands, instead of some nonsensical, meaningless little stone crumbs) was much, much more interesting initially (together with the interviews that said they initially planned to have the battery be a magic meter and make the sonau more magic than tech- but then decided to build their stuff around modern electrical devices just so players would immediately know what it was an what it would do -why????? thats so boring?? and unecessary ?? and they still give you tutorials for it anyway, multiple times??!!- for some ungodly reason)
it makes me more and more sure that this game, that took 6 years to make with most assets already being there (the same time that botw took to make?????????), went through a similar development hell as that one final fantasy game did where the director decided to make it an entirely different game every few weeks bc he saw something cool in another game-
its the only thing that makes sense to me, why else would it be so weirdly ... unfinished, its full of grand ideas badly executed, or like i said in a previous post, like an alpha build (weird! did someone in charge also see cool stuff every few months and decide they wanted it in there too no matter what so everyone had to scramble to try and put it in making the whole jenga tower fall over and over??), just to test how far you can push things, with placeholders everywhere, the same cutscene pasted in where another should be and a placeholder reason to get players to go soemwhere (fake zelda) and rough ideas for puzzles etc, that was never finished, jsut highly polished (in looks, sounds and presentation) in hopes of it being 'good enough' or players not noticing (like, take the underground for example, the idea itself is fantastic and cool as fuck, but its feels like an idea that was never finished and just barely fileld with some things to try and cover up the fact that it was never done, like a statue that wasnt done being carved but ran out of time so they painted it anyway- take the base map and invert it, put some easily accessible points of jumping down into it in random spots to test if the game can handle it- no time left to actually get that idea anywhere more specific and well thought out/put together, so its left like that, put the same texture everywhere, barely modified copies of the same enemies, and some little reward spots that make no sense, modelling three types of trees and an enemy camp is way quicker to do than actually making an entire new map (they didnt have to make it the same size btw, just make it big but unique caves, put the gravity effect down there in enclosed spaces! makes it less weird to have randomly happen in the sky! etc) but its there!! its in the game and if they are lucky most players wont go down there enough to notice how meaningless and unfinished it all is)
knowing they would most likely never admit to it though, probably bc of their reputation, is just addign to the frustrations i have with it :I
(i just hate to not know the reason for things, if the devs, who are usually the ones being worked to the bone for things they know arent good, where put through that bc some executive big shot threw their tables around every so often or neglected their project bc they wanted to focus on something else first ... id like to know, i dont enjoy making up these conspiracy (?) theories .......... but i cant shake this feeling, its jsut makes no sense)
#ganondoodles talks#zelda#ganondoodles rants#totk critical#i do wonder ......... if mr freedom good linear bad had some brainworms about what he wanted#bc he really did sound like he wanted some sort of minecraft like game of endless possibility#that just doesnt work if you try to put it in an exisitng world that was never built for that#so many WHYs#and yes it IS possible to combine both old and new zelda#imo they had the best opportunity with totk to do that bc of the feedback from botw#but they did like ... the exact opposite to those criticisms- doubling down on all of that was bad in botw#or only changing it on a sruface level so you think they did it when they absolutely did not#im sorry i do hate making wild theories about these kinds of things#but this just makes no sense at all to me!! this cant have been the best outcome a giant company can do with the sequel to their best-#-selling game yet IN THE SAME TIME THEY TOOK TO DEVELOPE THE ENTIRETY OF BOTW#.......... how do i aquire the german version of the totk masterworks without having to pay for it .... i dont want to spend any money on i

I've already said it but I'm still unsure if Withers were that much of a threat in the past
Assuming the loot we get in Nether Fortresses and End Cities were from humans before us, I don't know exactly how they wouldn't be able to defeat a Wither. I can imagine some explanations like Wither's strength in lore not being 1:1 with their in-game strength, older Withers being bigger and harder to kill than what we know currently or even that it was spawned merely by accident which could also mean there were more than one Wither at the time
Honestly, it could be all of these but something still doesn't fully fit in my mind and I can't really point my finger to what's bothering me. I mean, we kinda have some confirmation of Withers being a threat at some point with disc 5 but I don't exactly know if it/they're The Big Bad

Hi I am NOT normal about pottery shards and I WILL talk about them
AKA: under the cut is me explaining all the pottery shard designs out in Minecraft 1.20 snapshots as of now (March 23, 2023) in alphabetical order, going over their design and their possible meaning in the lore. Pictures of each shard will be above the text of the listed shard. Now, let's get on with it shall we?
Angler. Starting off simple. A fishing rod with a fish at the end. The ancient society knew how to craft fishing rods and catch fish.
Archer. A drawn bow and arrow. They crafted bows and arrows and knew how to use them. Probably related to skeletons somehow. Maybe the skeletons are them? Maybe the skeletons just stole their technology once they were gone? Unsure.
In real life, bow-and-arrow technology was revolutionary in terms of human evolution. Some archeologists even theorize that bows were the tools that began the end for our cousins, Neanderthals. But in Minecraft... who knows?
Arms Up. A humanoid figure with their arms raised. The arms-up pose means something unknown. Perhaps a gesture of friendship, or peace? What we do know is that, for near certain, the ancient peoples were humanoid in nature, close if not near identical to modern players.
Blade. A sword. Very similar to the standard Minecraft sword model, with a slightly different hilt. Maybe a pixel art limitation, maybe not. The ancient peoples knew how to make swords.
Brewer. A bottle of some description. Seems like a mixed design between a glass bottle and a cauldron. Nevertheless, it has its origins in brewing. They knew how to brew potions. Did they have a different system of brewing to the modern day, or did they have access to the Nether for materials? Currently unknown.
Burn. A flame. They knew how to make fire, or at least knew of its existence. But drawing on the last point, perhaps it's not a fire, but a blaze powder instead. The textures are oddly similar to one another.
Danger. A creeper. Seems like these mobs have been around for a while, and have always been a pain in the backside to watch out for. Wonder if they replied to such a call of danger with "aw man."
Explorer. A map with an X, marking a specific spot. They hid treasures in the ground likely in the same way of IRL pirates - marking a spot on a map for later. Sadly, from modern treasure maps found in shipwrecks, it seems they weren't able to get back to all their spoils in time. Also indicates they knew how to make and use maps.
Friend. An iron golem face. The ancient peoples knew that iron golems existed and that they were protective and friendly towards them. Perhaps, building upon other, older theories, they made the iron golems themselves.
Heart. A standard heart shape. Possibly a visualization of love. Or perhaps they had hearts within them as humans do in the real world, and this is what they looked like.
Heartbreak. A heart broken in two down the vertical center. ...Let's go with the first assumption of the previous shard's imagery. A broken heart is often a symbol of a bad feeling over a lost relationship. The ancient society had intricate relationships between its peoples. They loved and fell out of love, in any and possibly every such meaning of the term.
Howl. A wolf. In the words of a dear friend of mine, "They had doggies!" Or, more likely, began the process of domesticating wolves into the tamable breed we know today. At the very least, they knew of the existence of wolves, regardless of whether the ancient people-wolf relations were good or not.
Miner. A pickaxe. The ancient peoples were able to craft tools like pickaxes to mine for resources. The pickaxe here, much like the sword, is slightly different in design to what we know today.
Mourner. A warden. Now this... this is a very interesting one. I have my own theories that would require a bit more explaining than this format will allow for. (Maybe I will express such thoughts at a later date, if readers wish to hear them...) Let your thoughts be known in the tags!
Plenty. An open chest. This proves that the ancient peoples had the ability to craft chests, and the need for extra storage beyond what could be carried (presumably in their inventories, if they had them).
Prize. A gem. This is an indicator that they were able to mine for resources. Now, some sources may indicate this as a diamond. However, the shape is very distinct from that of any diamonds ever in Minecraft. This may be a completely new - or rather, very old - and different gem than anything players have seen before.
Sheaf. A bundle of wheat. They had means of farming and collecting wheat, and perhaps other crops as well. Agriculture is a part of their culture.
Shelter. A tree. They were able to hide from the elements underneath trees, later emulating this with their own buildings.
Skull. A skull. This could either be the skull of a skeleton mob, from which the skull item drops today, or perhaps the skull of the deceased. They knew of skeletons and death in one form or another.
Snort. A sniffer. This proves that sniffers existed at the same time as this ancient civilization, and that these people were in some form of contact with sniffers.
-~-~-
Remember that anything listed here was important enough to the society of ancient peoples to be immortalized in the art of their pottery. Each one of these has some sort of significance.
-~-~-

So I figured itās about time I cover the Creaking and my personal theories about it. Its kinda randomly organised and some of it might be a stretch, but this is creativity game so idc hereās what I think,
I believe that the Creaking is a type of Golem mob, perhaps an early concept.
Basically, this hinges on the fact that we can see Illagers and Ravagers run away from the Creaking the moment theyāre in close proximity, possibly meaning thereās some kind of history or relation between them.
I think that, in the early days of the world of Minecraft, the civilisation that would become what we know now as Villagers used to live within the Pale Garden biome, perhaps building structures that were lost to time. It makes sense, itās a quiet part of the world, the lack of passive mobs could possibly imply that itās a completely lifeless forest, leading threats such as Illagers to avoid it, as theyād have nothing to gain.
Of course, there are still threats in the Pale Garden when the night comes in, so the Villagers designed a golem, something practically invulnerable to all damage that could protect them from the monsters of the night, this of course is what would later become the Creaking. In my own design if the Creaking, I draw it with a hole in its chest, I believe this is because when they were designed, the heart was exposed in case of maintenance or repairs needed, it could be easily removed or swapped if necessary.
Nothing is safe forever though. Eventually, the Illagers would find out about these hidden homes, perhaps because of groups of Pillager scouts. Theyād attack over and over, eventually forcing the Villagers to flee from the Pale Gardens, but during the searching of their homes, the Illagers would encounter the defenders that had been constructed. Almost three metre tall golems, invincible to most of their efforts, they stood no chance, eventually having to escape with only the tale to tell.
Over time, the Creaking would learn to camouflage with their surroundings, blending in with the trees and hiding their hearts amongst them for protection, now left to wander in the dead of night through silent forests, still guarding a civilisation long lost. Rather than disappearing in daytime, I believe that they become one with the trees, or at least shape themselves to appear as one of them.
In general, I think itās a good idea to use the Creaking as a guardian, theyāre immune to fall damage, they canāt drown, immune to lava and all direct attacks, just that physically, they might be a bit weak, so they come in numbers in the forests.
Their descendants, Iron Golems. Immune to fall damage, canāt drown, itās just that the trade off is less lava and attack immunity, instead making them stronger and only needing to come as a singular guard to each village.
Best guess as to why it attacked the villagers in that one Villager news thingy could be that itās been generations and they may have forgotten, or maybe that the villagers developing over time may not completely resemble what the Creaking remember.
I know itās a bit of a stretch based of very limited information about them, but thatās my theory on what the Creaking are and why they exist in the world, Iām open to other ideas or corrections of course, but yeah, I hope yāall enjoy !! Do with that what you will !!

cancel the previous bdubs appreciation post this one is actually insane:
the shading is CRAAAAZYYY. it looks photoshopped but i swear to you thatās just dark oak and nether bricks at the top. this is 90% vanilla minecraft
the variation in block type here is mindblowing. how do you start seeing such specific shades and mid tones in block like this? even the switches from slightly different weathered copper blocks/ copper blocks to copper bricks just would not compute in my head
and the detail here is crazy crazy. itās all so BALANCED and COMPOSITION-Y and is this a good time to mention bdubs has never had a background in art? just to slip that in there
