I'm currently playing a relatively good character. Meet the priest of Selune, a drow named Sherrill. He has a very young face, but in fact he is almost the same age as Halsin. He is kind and very empathetic, but at the same time there is a little of the stereotypical drow in him: he can be cunning and deceitful if he needs to. He had been on a pilgrimage to the shrines of Selune in Faerûn for over 10 years when he was kidnapped by the illithids. In general, he has a lot to boast about in terms of adventures; I think he’s even been to some other astral planes.

He has some problems communicating with Shadowheart, for obvious reasons!!! But in reality he doesn't dislike her at all. In fact, he perceives most of his companions as foolish children, ESPECIALLY SHADOWHEART, YES

One last fun fact: Gale isn't his type at all in terms of looks, but he's the kind of guy who is drawn to charisma. Although I think that in the end he would have left Gale to continue the pilgrimage but with SHADOWHEART AS HIS STUDENT, LOL

Well...I suppose my first port of call would be to our very own githyanki Lae'zel...

I am not...at all experienced with babies...or children, particularly. So perhaps I would consult my friend @ask-gale who has the benefit of being both me, and someone with a recent new arrival.

My Tav didn't leave the monetary in...amazing shape. If I recall correctly a giant magical lazer and an ancient artifact of Lathander were involved.

So I suppose we would keep it in the camp, until we found someone better suited to look after it.

How mods + the vanilla game + my own RP made me emotional in BG3

When I started my 3rd run of BG, I installed a mod that allowed me to play as a Cambion (think Raphael & Mizora). A lot of the game dialogue defaults to tiefling but it's great for RP and comes with some unique boosts/powers (and potentially a game-changing nerf). Also you can give your character wings.

...which I promptly did. However, in an inverse of Wyll's story (and foreshadowing who she ultimately romanced) I had her wings removed (and removed some of her most powerful powers) near the end of act 1. A punishment for interfering with Wyll and with Karlach and stymying Raphael and helping the tieflings (and myconids) with zero expectation of rewards. "Since you seem to like the tieflings *so much*." kind of deal.

Anyone who's taken a look at the back of a tiefling body in game knows there are little spurs where wings could have potentially been with a stronger infernal bloodline.

Anyway for roleplay purposes I've kept a running thread of having her wings clipped (and becoming decidedly more mortal) and the psychology of that, phantom limb, and even getting Gale to teach her a basic level of wizardry so she could memorize a fly scroll and do it again with magic.

...the next act and a half kept going. And then I rescued Minsc, with a party of Wyll, Jaheira, and Karlach.

Where I promptly found the relics in the area where Minsc retrieves Boo that serve as memorials to the companions from past games. Including eerily thematically appropriate pieces for where Wyll, Jaheira, and Karlach all were in my game...and the last, a pair of wings.

Representing Aerie, a character in the earlier games who in her backstory had lost her wings. And in comes Mom Jaheira, pointing out "She didn't need them, in the end." all supportively.

Y'all I had to stop my game. My stupid mods and stupid roleplay/headcanons led to this impressively powerful and emotional moment in the game that only I've ever and will ever experience.

And just, damn. This game is so crazy powerfully good and the storytelling is so rich

Anyway this is why I love Baldur's Gate 3 so much. And why Jaheira is always SO worth it to have around in act 3. And why this game is such a masterpiece. A random in game item and some banter text for flavor, mixed with a mod, a preceding game from twenty years ago I still haven't played (BG1/BG2 are next), and one adult woman with an overactive imagination equalled a moment that's moved me more than literal cinema.

So I assume this is like favorites? Okay, I'll try to do separate fandoms as well to keep it interesting and I'll try and make it less common ships, not exactly rare ships per se because like... I am very shy and anxiety prone so truthfully iunno what's rare and not because I don't engage a lot.

Thunderweave (Gale/Rolan) : I really like this one, even more since my fiancee and I RPed it with the idea of transmasc Rolan. It's really kind of interesting and also Rolan deserves a better fellow wizard than Lorroakan and I think Gale is a great fellow wizard being both talented, secure in his abilities, but also willing to see the potential and power in another person. Also I super identify with Rolan and my fiancee does a really good really convincing Gale for RP and cosplay. Kabru/Mithrun: I initially preferred Kabru/Laios, which I still really like honestly, but I read a longer post about Mithrun's disabilities and his trauma and how Kabru treats him like a person when most people don't and like as a heavily traumatized person who became suddenly and severely disabled as a result, I really really relate and hope that my partners will show me that same level of care when they are able (distance has been the main reason why not, my mom has mainly been the one taking care of me since I became disabled so I don't really know what my partners will do in person because one lives far away and one has been called away on family issues since before this became a major issue) Thraina (Thrall/Jaina) : This is the only hetero ship I consistently come back to. I usually prefer Sylvanas/Jaina, but realistically I don't want to put that one here for only one reason. Sylvanas/Jaina has a lot of basis in what it could be (No one at Blizzard who has been there consistently through their entire development is talented enough to have made it work so it's all theoretical and based on what much better unpaid fanfiction writers decide). Thraina, meanwhile was unintentionally somehow written as one of the most equitable, healtyh, equal, and level relationships in all of WoW and it wasn't even canon...mainly because Metzen is a weird creepy misogynist (one of the main reasons I actually mainly write Aggra/Jaina as a ship actually, because both deserve better and are, in theory, better than that bag of derivative Marvel obsessed dicks allows them to be) but anyway, it's just fascinating to me how the healthiest ship in WoW was axed, shut down, and denied despite how genuinely good it was. I could write essays on this, I *HAVE* written essays on this, but I'll spare you. First ship: Domon Kasshu/Chibodee Crockett (G Gundam) but also Meg Giry and Christine Daae (Phantom of the Opera) these were simultaneous, so honestly I had to put both.

Last Movie: it was this obscure random horror movie I found on Peacock called 'Wait Till Helen Comes' about a child ghost. I tend to since I've been unable to work stay up late making costume pieces and writing and pick random horror movies for background. It wasn't bad, honestly.

// Ras is known in Faerun, I never really like just throwing stats down and levels for this kind of RP, because the need for it is not really needed, as we aren't rolling dice and really need the forced chance of failure (I trust most people know how to round out their muses). Ras does come from a tabletop game originally. (No idea if I still have his character sheet).

But he was not low-level when the game ended. So when I write him in Faerun, he is known. He's been around and done some impressive things that have made him known in areas of the world. That's why there are rumors on who his demonic blood lies with.

Ras has been to Sigil and touched other planes, even if briefly. He isn't some no-name guy. But that doesn't mean your muse is going to know who he is, the world is wide and not everyone is Elminster.

But it isn't outside the realm of possibility that a muse has heard of him.

In the case of BG 3, it's clear with Gale and Wyll mostly the tadpole weakened them, and clearly while maybe not known in the realm, were of considerable power. I mean Wyll was in the hells, you aren't just strolling in there without some kind of power.

Also, noterity is Fearun from a tabletop perspective is tricky. I don't know if the game ever gave a clear layout but the people I always played with did it as:

lvl 1: you're no one

lvl 5: the local area knows you and what you've done

lvl 10: a region knows who you are and your deeds

lvl 15: Multiple regions know of you

lvl 20: All the realms know who you are

Sorry for rambling. Just wanted to share that and a long-winded saying I don't mind if your muse upon meeting Ras is like, "I've heard of you!" then share some random rumor they heard.

It could be a fun way to meet and get things going, lol.

GENERAL INFO

This is an independent roleplaying blog for the characters Gale Dekarios, Sarevok Anchev, Anomen Delryn and other characters of the Baldur’s Gate video game series. This blog is for entertainment purposes only; I am in no way affiliated to Bioware, Larian, the creators of Baldur’s Gate, or any of the actors I use as faceclaims.

NOTE: Except for Gale and Halsin, obviously, my characters are based in BG 1 and 2. I am open to adapting them to the BG 3 timeline. However:

Particularly the character of Sarevok is VASTLY different in the old games - I do not take the events and story presented in BG 3 into account for his portrayal.

THE WRITER

I am over 30 years of age and I live in Central Europe. I work during the week, which means the activity on this blog will be low. Also this is not my only RP blog.

INTERACTIONS

I will only write with blogs I follow. This includes threads, memes, and anything in between.

If we’re mutuals, feel free to continue a meme in a new thread if you see the situation going somewhere.

I tend to write longer replies (multipara) and I prefer them over one-liners.

I do not write with people under the age of 21. I prefer writing with partners who are over 25, regardless of content. NSFW content is not a priority for me on this blog so there won’t be much of it, but I am not fully opposed to it.

Especially since the old Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 RP fandom is basically non-existent, I am more than willing to roleplay with any other compatible fandom!

FORMATTING & ICONS

I use minor formatting and sometimes icons, sometimes no icons. I have no problem with RP partners not using any icons/banners. However, I do ask you to cut your posts if we have an on-going thread.

SHIPPING

Please don’t force ships or shame ships.

I ship chemistry above all things, and so do my muses. However, Sarevok is a tough one when it comes to relationships, so if you’re looking for romance and eternal love you are probably going to be disappointed here. Sex is more likely to happen with him than actual love. Also, expect to be dropped or betrayed or murdered when you stand in his way.

While I, as a writer, am happy to write gay ships with Anomen, please note that he will be hesitant towards engaging in a romantic relationship with another man at first, due to his standing and upbringing.

As this has come up before: I will not write threads in which Sarevok r*pes/has r*ped anyone. Don’t request that, the answer is no. If it’s part of your character’s backstory, please leave it out in our threads, I am not making it part of his story in any capacity.

Also ORIN/HELENA and anything about his story in BG3 is not canon for my Sarevok portrayal. Please do not assume it in writing. If you write Orin or Helena, I'm happy to think of ways for us to interact that work for both of us (e.g. a fake Sarevok avatar, major illusion, etc.). But Sarevok has not fathered any children nor is he leading a cult of Bhaal. It's okay to assume Orin's story for Sarevok if you interact with my other (particularly the BG3) muses, but not with Sarevok, please.

WARNINGS

There will be dark and potentially triggering themes on this blog, both in my character’s backstory and in threads. With a character like Sarevok it would be hard to tag everything potentially triggering, but I will tag the most common ones (such as suicide, gore, torture, etc). To name a few themes that I can see coming up/being mentioned: murder, mass murder, alcoholism, violence, incest (between half-siblings (the bhaalspawn), self-harm, torture, … Smutty content is tagged as #( not safe for waukeen. )

If you need anything tagged that I am not tagging yet, let me know and I’ll check if I can add it to my list.

As you can see, I get left with very little to amuse myself with when Tav makes the (unwise) decision to leave me at camp...

Once I've got all the food ready and popped a delectable slow roast on the fire, I've had far too much time on my hands.

So I have sent out a arcane message, in the hopes of answering some of the questions of the people of Baulder's Gate, and whatever other parts of the cosmos are fortunate enough to receive my missive.

How has slaying the foul beasts of this area been treating you? It is a rare day indeed that you do not return covered in blood and gore, hm?
