Okay Liv this is your fault for reblogging a meme that is making me crave reckless proposals/marriages 😂 Do you know of any fics where Harry and Draco decide to get married really quickly and don’t care what anyone else thinks? (I have a headcanon that they get married in the middle of 8th year and don’t tell anyone, thanks to a certain aideomai fic!)
Hello my lovely! Haha reading aideomai will be like that, suddenly you’re full of 8th year headcanons you’ve never even considered before 💀 hmm let’s see, I hope moving in together counts too cause there’s some here:
Through the Window, Clear Skies by @tackytigerfic (2020, M, 1.4k)
What would happen if Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy moved in together, too soon after they started kissing and then fucking and not hating each other anymore?
Sharing a Pack by sugar_screw (2016, E, 2.8k)
A fight. A fuck. A smoke. A small love story.
Packing the Flat by marguerite_26 (2012, E, 6k)
Months after their explosive break-up, Draco insists Harry return to their flat to remove his belongings.
Seven Days to Monday by @static-abyss (2020, M, 11k)
There are seven days before Harry has to meet Draco for the final signing of their divorce papers. It's been months and the surprise at finding nothing but more cold sheets and an empty pillow next to him still catches Harry unawares. He doesn't know where they go from here. Whether it's possible to go anywhere after everything that's happened between them.
Matchmaker, Matchmaker by @firethesound (2013, E, 11k)
Sometimes, Harry can't help but wonder why such strange shit always happens to him.
Reparatio by astolat (2016, E, 17k)
Draco snorted. “I’m not reduced to penury. I want something considerably beyond money, and I rather think you’re the only one can give it to me.”
freely, as men strive for right by @bixgirl1 (2020, E, 17k)
How can Harry love a man like Draco Malfoy? If only Draco would let him count the ways.
I'll Tell You A Secret (Just Don't Tell) by nerakrose (2013, G, 18k)
Harry and Draco are living a fairly normal life with a fairly normal relationship, except for the part where it's, well, secret.
House Proud by astolat (2016, M, 23k)
His house liked Draco Malfoy more than him.
just tell me when it’s alright by @bonesliketambourines (2020, E, 23k)
Harry’s been fighting tooth and nail for any bit of normalcy he can get his hands on. He’s sick of feeling like something’s wrong with him, tired of feeling different. He thinks he’s finally gotten to the root of it, and has settled into a routine that makes him happy. Naturally, that’s when Draco Malfoy walks back into his life and upends it once again. Has Harry bitten off more than he can chew with his former rival?
In Your Arms, Rests My World by @l0vegl0wsinthedark (2016, E, 24k)
Harry presses his mouth to Malfoy's forehead; he wants to tell him that he’ll never leave, that he wouldn’t dream of it.
Burn the Curtains and the Wine by @nerdherderette (2019, E, 24k)
There are two versions of Harry Potter: the wizard who is the Ministry of Magic's most dangerous and successful assassin, and the husband who leads a staid life of domesticity with a reformed Death Eater. And never the twain shall meet.
Rebel Red by DisasterSoundtrack (2018, E, 33k)
When you accidentally meet someone once, that's just blind luck. But when you accidentally meet the same person twice, it feels more like destiny.
Written on the Heart by who_la_hoop (2016, E, 113k)
Unnerved by the attention he’s attracting from everyone – the Slytherins are the least of it, to be fair – and struggling with a raft of changes to Hogwarts itself, Harry wishes he could be happy that one constant remains: Draco Malfoy really fucking hates him.

GOOD MENTAL HEALTH GAMES
So here’s a list of games that help me get through bad days, whether it’s just being out of spoons, or being triggered, or just needing to not think for a hot second, it doesn’t matter. I’ll make sure to tell you why they might appeal, because not every game will work for every mood/situation.
STARDEW VALLEY [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 / SWITCH / IOS / ANDROID ] — of course, this is the ultimate good mental health game. It’s very relaxing, it’s involved enough that you can focus on it without having to do anything intensive. You can play at your own pace, and you can even play with a friend, if you need that extra support.
GRAVEYARD KEEPER [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 / SWITCH / IOS / ANDROID ] — this game is here for the same reason as stardew valley, but with an entirely different vibe. You play a man from our time who’s mysteriously transported to medieval times, who has to run a graveyard to find his way back. If Stardew Valley is too soft and cutesy for you, you’ll like Graveyard Keeper’s more morbid twist on it. Steeped in dark humour.
NO MAN’S SKY [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 ] — surely everyone’s heard of this game from its disastrous launch back in 2016. Since then, Hello Games has worked tirelessly to bring existing and new players free updates and turn it into the game that they’d promised from the start. I’d say they’ve delivered. This game is vast, with plenty to do, plenty to see; you can get lost exploring planet after planet, learning more about the other civilisations that inhabit the galaxies (yes, plural), trading, hunting pirates, raiding freighters, owning freighters, base building, playing with friends... This game can initially be very overwhelming, but the key to this game is to just focus on one thing at a time.
ASTRONEER [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 ] — if No Man’s Sky is too vast for you, then you might want to try your hand at Astroneer. It’s a lot more contained, much more stylised, and since there’s less content, it’s a lot harder to lose yourself in how much there is to actually do and thus get overwhelmed. Just a fun, lowkey planetary exploration game with cartoon-y graphics. Also with co-op options.
CITIES: SKYLINES [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 / SWITCH ] — if you’re looking for something to just relax with but still get the sense you’re doing something productive, then you might want to try your hand at Cities: Skylines. The goal is to make a functional city, down to managing the flow of traffic and meeting the zoning demands of your citizens, et cetera. It’s easy to pour a few hours into this once you get the hang of it. Of course, you can also go the Sims route and just give yourself infinite money to design a city to your wishes.
JURASSIC WORLD EVOLUTION [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 ] — so this is like the old Zoo Tycoon, if the animals were large long-extinct creatures that have a habit of breaking out of their habitats if sufficiently agitated. There’s two ways you can play the game; you can follow the story line, which slowly seeks to reclaim the islands lost in the Jurassic Park trilogy, right down to wrangling the now wild dinosaurs roaming the islands and turning the GenSec bases into functional parks. Or, once you get a 4 star rating on Isla Matanceros, you go sandbox mode on Isla Nublar, which provides you with ample space and neigh unlimited money to go wild on.
BORDERLANDS 2 [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 / IOS / ANDROID ] — if you’re more into shoot and loot, you’ll find Borderlands 2 (and the Borderlands franchise in and of itself) quite satisfying. I recommend BL2 especially because while it’s dated, its graphics and gameplay still holds up, it’s on older gen consoles as well, and its price tag is a lot less costly than immediately going for Borderlands 3. The game’s funny, it doesn’t really require you to think a lot, and it’s just great fun shooting AI in the face and blowing things up. Even if you’re self-reportedly ‘bad at FPS’, there’s no expectations where Borderlands 2 is concerned. Just sorta aim and shoot, no doubt something will die and give you a shiny prize for it. Endorphines galore.
SPORE [ PC ] — disclaimer, Spore is great up to a certain point, and after that it becomes absolute garbage. Most people agree that the microbial and creature stages of Spore are absolutely fantastic and there’s some whacky fun to be had creating ridiculous-looking creatures and getting them to survive in the direction you’ve decided to take them. Generally, after the Creature Stage comes the Civilisation Stage, which is about the time I restart the game, which is a pity. The longest stage, which is the Space Stage, is arguably also the worst stage. But it’s cheap, and the first two stages are really just that iconic.
TWO POINT HOSPITAL [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 / SWITCH ] — if you’re like me and you’ve been playing video games on PC for 25 years, surely you’ll remember a little game called Theme Hospital. The weirdest, most ridiculous hospital simulation game ever created. This is that, but from 2018, opposed to 1997. I’ve spent hours upon hours in Theme Hospital trying to save patients, make my layouts make sense, and keep people from littering everywhere, you heathens! In later levels, it can get pretty stressful, but particularly earlier levels, it’s just good ol’ fun.
THE SIMS 4 [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 ] — speaking of the Sims, the franchise is obviously the most well-known ‘I know I’m in a depression hole because I played for the past 21 hours and I haven’t eaten yet and I probably won’t shower for the next 5 days’ game. Granted, I list the Sims 4, but any iteration of the Sims works for this purpose. Just motherlode and go, my friends. Cure the emptiness by creating a house you’ll never be able to afford. (Personally I use it to create my characters from toddler and making them meet and kiss their SOs, but you know.)
PLANET ZOO [ PC ] — I likened Jurassic World Evolution to Zoo Tycoon but with dinosaurs. Planet Zoo is Zoo Tycoon on steroids. That’s it. Planet Zoo is incredibly robust and in-depth, but the idea is simple: manage a zoo, help animals get off the endangered species list, and release them into the wild where you can while keeping visitors happy and keeping your park clean (why are visitors in sim games always such terrible raccoons)! Go creative mode and just create a zoo to your own wishes with no constraints and you’ll have a great mental health game.
PLANET COASTER [ PC / XBOX1 / PS4 ] — if Planet Zoo is Zoo Tycoon on steroids, then Planet Coaster is Rollercoaster Tycoon on steroids (which, in turn, was a more robust version of 1994′s Theme Park, from the same devs as Theme Hospital mentioned above). Like with Planet Zoo, you make a theme park, create rides that kill people and desperately try to hold back the tide of litter that’ll inevitably happen. But really, just go creative mode and make rollercoasters with so much G-force that it’ll kill everyone that rides them.
RAFT [ PC ] — a co-op game set in an Earth enveloped by oceans, you’re essentially a scout on a raft and that raft will become your home as you build onto it. You go from island to island to collect materials, seeds for food and trees, and discover the lore of the world. Your only enemy is hunger, thirst, and the ever-present shark that really only wants to hug you with its teeth. It’s a friend. Promise.
So do you have any games that you think should be on this list? Games that help you get through days where it’s just really hard to be a person? Feel free to add onto this post. Just make sure you let people know the name, the platforms its available on, the general gist of the game, and why it helps you through tough days.
Enjoy your good mental health days and good luck on your bad mental health days, everyone. 💛

Rajasaurus narmadensis
By Ripley Cook
Etymology: King Reptile
First Described By: Wilson et al., 2003
Classification: Dinosauromorpha, Dinosauriformes, Dracohors, Dinosauria, Saurischia, Eusaurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Averostra, Ceratosauria, Neoceratosauria, Abelisauroidea, Abelisauridae, Majungasaurinae
Status: Extinct
Time and Place: Between 70 and 66 million years ago, in the Maastrichtian of the Late Cretaceous
Rajasaurus is known from the Lameta Formation of Gujarat, India
Physical Description: Rajasaurus was an Abelisaur - so, a kind of theropod with a long body, almost nonexistent arms, and thick, powerful legs. Rajasaurus in particular differed from other Abelisaurs in having particularly short legs, making it even more… sausage-like… in appearance than even its close relatives. It had a boxy head and thick neck, which would allow it to have a very powerful bite and strength in the neck to hold down prey. It had a strong sense of smell, as well, to help it to find prey from farther away - allowing it to set up an ambush for said prey when it got too close. It had horns on its forehead, made of bone from the nose, which was probably not extended by skin. It was also a lot shorter than other Abelisaurids - which means that it was only about 7 or so meters long, and maybe only two meters tall, if that. It really wouldn’t have stood much taller than an adult man. Rajasaurus had an especially short neck, which may have allowed it to grab onto prey even tighter than other Abelisaurids. It had very short, four-fingered hands, with claws on the first three of them. Though the legs of Rajasaurus are short, it did have very robust, thick toes, giving it more support on the ground. As an Abelisaurid, Rajasaurus was covered in scales all over its body, with potentially round bumpy bits of bone (osteoderms) interspersed among the scales.

Diet: As a large Abelisaurid, Rajasaurus would have primarily fed upon larger herbivores, such as Titanosaurs.
Behavior: Abelisaurs were not the fastest animals - after all, if they ran too quicky, they wouldn’t have been very balanced - but what they were extremely agile turners. Being able to turn very quickly allowed them to be efficient ambush predators. Rajasaurus would have waited for prey to appear, and then charged - seemingly out of nowhere, by turning rapidly towards the prey - and then grabbing down onto the struggling prey with its strong, boxy jaws. Though Rajasaurus had small arms and hands, it traded those off for having a stronger neck - to better hold the prey steady with. Then, the stress would weaken the animal, along with blood loss. The horns on the head of Rajasaurus were probably for display and interaction between members of the species, with fights occurring to argue over carcasses or for mates via head-butting or neck-bashing. The horns would have also packed quite a bit of a cutting edge in these fights. It’s also possible that bright colors could have been used on the horns to display. While it doesn’t seem likely that Rajasaurus was particularly social, it did probably take care of its young, and may have formed small family groups while they grew up, in order to protect the young from the many other predators around.

Ecosystem: The Lameta Formation is a fascinating Late Cretaceous environment due to the fact that it was a grassland! Grasses evolved sometime in the Cretaceous period. While they did not spread rapidly until the Cenozoic, they did seem to be present in quite a few areas during the Cretaceous (to the point of some hadrosaur relatives evolving to eat them). India at the time was an isolated island, so grasses were able to thrive and diversify more there than in other locations where they did not gain as immediate of a foothold. There was a large amount of volcanic activity nearby, which probably added to its extensive biodiversity (before it made many of the animals present go extinct, via the explosion of the Deccan Traps). It was a lush environment filled with grasses resembling modern rice, flowers, algae, and ferns. This was an environment filled with many lakes, surrounded by extensive mud that lead to its fossil preservation. Rajasaurus was certainly not the only dinosaur of this environment, either! There were even other Abelisaurids - Indosaurus, Indosuchus, Rahiolisaurus, Lametasaurus, and their close relatives the (potentially piscivorous) Noasaurids such as Ornithomimoides, Laevisuchus, and Dryptosauroides. There were also other theropods, probably also Ceratosaurs - Jubbulpuria, Coeluroides, and Orthogoniosaurus. With all of these predators and fishermen, it makes sense that there were a lot of large herbivores for them to feed upon! And there seem to be at least three different kinds of titanosaurs there - Titanosaurus, a dubiously known one; Jainosaurus, a slightly better known one; and Isisaurus, the best known one that seems to be one of the main features of the environment. There was also potentially an ankylosaur - Brachypodosaurus! As for non-dinosaurs, there were large snakes, Sanajeh and Madtsoia; a variety of turtles; and some Dyrosaurid crocodylomorphs!
By José Carlos Cortés
Other: Rajasaurus was one of the Majungasaurines, which had longer holes in their snouts in front of their eyes than their close relatives the Carnotaurines - aka, they had lighter skulls - and having small crests widening the front of their heads; and, in general, longer snouts. This group of Abelisuarids underwent extensive island hopping, reaching places like India via rafting and other journeys across the ocean. Rajasaurus, being one of them, had ancestors that underwent such a journey!

When the written word becomes black
WHEN THE WRITTEN WORD BECOMES BLACK
What does it mean to be French speaking and from African roots? How to attempt to explain why people of African background keep French as their principal way of expression?
The challenge lies on the contentious issue that exists between people of African origin and French language. This was the language of the slave owners and the colonizers. During the Age of Enlightenment, philosophers like Voltaire expressed their racist views about Black people freely. L'Essai sur les Mœurs et l'esprit des Nations by Voltaire (1756) is written proof of this fact. (I will keep all quotes in French.) His description of African physical features is degrading.
Many versions of this book have been expurgated but Victor Hugo said, « Voltaire, disons-le avec joie et tristesse, c’est l’esprit français ».
Colonialism is also a contentious issue however the difference is that Africans were not unrooted from their continent. »
His zoological language to define Africans was normal for this Nobel Prize laureate in literature in 1947. André Gide adds : « Les nègres nus crient, rient et se querellent en montrant des dents de cannibales. » We are into cannibalism now according to him.
French literature is full of racist passages targeting Africans; yet, today, Africans and descendants of Africans are among the most outspoken artists defending French language, commonly known as la Francophonie.
The first reason is simple. Even if Frantz Fanon said that words coming from France would define Black people and take away their right to define themselves, Aimé Césaire decided to say that his black essence, his negritude will shape his way of writing French.
« ma négritude n’est ni une tour ni une cathédrale/elle plonge dans la chair rouge du sol/
elle plonge dans la chair ardente du ciel/elle troue l’accablement opaque de sa droite patience. »
André Breton admits that Césaire took French and used it as a weapon to tell his story, the story of Black people.
Aimé Césaire, Léopold Sédar Senghor and Léon Gontran Damas decided, at the beginning of the last century, to use French as a weapon against oppression in the literary movement called Negritude. After them, most writers of African origin used their path. They plunged their pen in a furious or rebellious ink to express themselves with no complex and no burden.
We, francophones of African background, have taken over the French language in a colossal battle against the former colonizer who refuses to admit that we modernized the French language, we impregnated French, filled her up with the venom of truth, truth about who we are, human beings like others.
When former French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, in July 2007, gave a 50 minutes speech in Dakar, Senegal, he spread lies and racist concepts about Africans and Black people in general. He said the Africans never completely entered in History and they are nostalgic of the past.
« L'homme africain n'est pas assez entré dans l'Histoire. […] Le problème de l'Afrique, c'est qu'elle vit trop le présent dans la nostalgie du paradis perdu de l'enfance. […] Dans cet imaginaire où tout recommence toujours, il n'y a de place ni pour l'aventure humaine ni pour l'idée de progrès ».
President Emmanuel Macron, in July 2018, at L’Alliance française in Lagos, Nigéria showed his contempt for Africans. According to him, 8 or 9 kids per woman will keep Africa in poverty.
« Quand vous êtes un pays pauvre, où vous laissez la démographie galopante, où vous avez 7, 8 enfants par femme, vous ne sortez jamais de la pauvreté. Même quand vous avez un taux de croissance de 5 à 6 % vous n'arrivez jamais à en sortir. »
All these misconception about Africans show France (and other dominant French speaking countries), their incapacity to accept an undeniable fact: Black people are autonomous, and masters of their socio-cultural destiny. The increase of the Francophone population in Africa is a threat to French speaking westerners or a blessing. It all depends on the place they get or the place they take within the francophone organization. Furthermore, stating that Africans have not completely entered History is ludicrous. Take the sculptures of Ousmane Sow shown all over the world, take the Hip Hop phenomenon; think of Usain Bolt, the fastest men on the planet. We have so much entered History that people copy us. What make the French speaking black person an indomitable presence, it’s the unshakable force that we share with other Black culture. It worries people like Nicolas Sarkozy or Emmanuel Macron.
Let’s talk about French speaking artists of African origin in Ontario. These people contribute a great deal to the French speaking culture in Ontario. In music, you can mention Yao, he is a specialist of slam, spoken word with music; there are others in poetry and fiction. This fact doesn’t take away what started with the counterculture movement and the music of CANO. The precursors like Robert Dickson and Jean-Marc Dalpé don’t have the same choice of words in their writing compared to the Africans. Works of writers of African origin in Ontario use a lexical that has the imprint of the slavery whip and the spit of colonizers. This imprint is unconscious, but it has the revolutionary reverberation of Césaire, Senghor et L.-G. Damas. This lexical creates novels like Bangkok Blues by Hédi Bouraoui, originally from Tunisia.
There is a way to notice the difference between French speaking writers from African culture and authors who ancestors came from Quebec. One must mention the Franco-Ontarian poet Patrice Desbiens who lives in Québec, now for many years. He became quickly the poet of the intellectual in Quebec and people forget that he is originally from Ontario. His best works has been done in Ontario and it is about the English-speaking oppression and the unease of his own identity (L’homme invisible/The invisible man, 1981).
This phenomenon of changing identity (or highjacked identity) can never happen to a Francophone of African origin in Canada. There is always, in Black culture, an historical and a contemporary unresolved issue. If it’s not about French presidents (and Canadian leaders) belittle people of Black culture, there are new urban issues like police violence and discrimination in the employment sector. Black authors dip their pen in these open wounds to come up with an uncompromised voice. There is no retreat towards Quebec: we have our backs against the wall.
The Francophone of African origin looks like this Black man waving a red rag in the painting of Théodore Géricault, The raft of the Medusa (1818-1819). He is on top of everybody, helped by others of course, but on top because his despair is the sum of many injustices and this raft painted by Géricault is the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Violence Rating: Explicit - For all the swears and smut Relationships: Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes, Bucky Barnes/Darcy Lewis, Steve Rogers/Darcy Lewis, Bucky Barnes/Darcy Lewis/Steve Rogers
May 2018
"Boss, two thermal signatures just appeared in your private unit."
Reminding himself that he needed to program Friday to never say anything about his ‘private unit’ ever again, Tony’s hands never stopped typing on his keyboard. “Pepper home early?”
“No,” was Friday’s response, “Ms. Potts’ plane isn’t due to arrive until ten.”
“Then where’d they come from?"
"Nowhere."
Frowning, Tony spun in his chair and glared at the door to his lab, which lead to the suite he and his fiancé shared. He glanced to the left toward the bank of darkened windows and, with a wave of his arm, the glass went from tinted to clear, showing the New York City skyline as it bathed in the light of the morning. Sleep last night had been elusive, nervous energy curling and flipping in his stomach, never feeling right when Pepper wasn't at his side. With everything he had on his plate at the moment, he felt more off-kilter than he had in a long time, anxiety biting up and down his arms. "What do you mean, 'nowhere'? Through a window, in a helicopter?"
"I quite literally mean nowhere. They weren't there, and now they are. Should I respond as if they're a threat?"
A few clicks of his fingers and a gesture of his arm saved then cleared his work, and Tony rose to his feet, starting toward the door. "Are they a threat? Who is it?"
"Based on facial recognition, one of them is Doctor Stephen Strange, a retired neurosurgeon. The other is Steve Rogers."
Tony stopped walking, body going still at Steve's name. It'd been over a year since the last time he'd seen Steve Rogers, or the rest of the group who'd been imprisoned on The Raft. He'd heard Barton and Scott Lang had taken the plea deals that had been offered to them. They’d been surprised that the DA had offered them leniency in the first place; a late night phone call had made sure they'd still be with their family. It was the least Tony could do. He'd been unable to accept the idea of them being separated from their children.
General Ross hadn't looked too kindly on the district attorney's decision, but it was an election year and a fat 'anonymous' check being donated to the DA’s campaign had swayed him to look on the engineer and archer with compassion. It didn't clear their records, but the Accords had spelled out pretty clearly what the punishment was for those who ignored it. Mouth turning down in a frown, Tony looked at the door with uncertainty. Rogers appearing was not a good sign, and part of Tony couldn't help but remember the way Steve had looked down at him as his fists pounded on his chest over and over, until the light of his arc reactor broke then faded. He wanted to believe that Rogers wasn't there to finish the job, but he still faltered as he tried to imagine what could have happened to Rogers that required coming back to hostile soil.
"What would you like me to do, boss?"
Pulled from the turmoil in his head at the A.I.’s voice, Tony started moving again, slipping his glasses on. "Have countermeasures ready. Find out what you can about Strange and send it to me."
As information began to appear in the lenses, Tony placed a hand on the door and took a deep breath in, eyes closing as he tried to stop his thundering heartbeat. He let the air out of his lungs slowly, steeling himself before he pushed through the door. His voice rang out loud and clear, his usual flippant tone in place. "Not sure how you managed to get past security on your way up, but you should know that authorities have already been informed of your arrival and will be here shortly."

More Youth-Available Jobs in the Summer
It is obvious that a major issue plaguing America’s cities is violence. 2016 marked Baltimore’s second deadliest year on record with 318 murders largely in part to gang-related warfare. In Chicago, 300 people were shot and 50 were killed in January 2017 alone.
While a “no-tolerance” stance towards gang violence would work in an ideal world, there are more active strategies that can be implemented to tackle the rising rate of violence in America’s cities. Summer job programs for city youth are a realistic and proactive approach to the issue of gang-related violence and have been proven to help the problem.
With more of these jobs available, kids are given the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in the workforce, while also keeping them off the streets. It is imperative that state-funding be allocated to these programs in order to create these opportunities. Otherwise, there is very little stopping inner-city youth from joining gangs and becoming a part of the violence occurring across the country.
Funding for Urban Public Schools
Why so terrible?
Well, The omnibus budget provides a $5 million pilot grant program to expand the creation and use of open educational resources, free online and usable education materials.
Criminal Justice Reform - In Nov, 2018 President Trump just backed the prison and criminal justice reform bill, the First Step Act.

Hello! I LOVE your recs and your blog, thank you so much ❤ was wondering if you know any drarry fic where the presence of their friends (either the slytherin or the gryffidor or both) is very important and there's like an found/adopted-family kind of vibe? Maybe a bunch of them are roomates or something? Like something very heart-warming. It's okay if you don't know any or don't wanna answer! Also I hope I managed to make it understandable what I mean 😅 english isn't my first language and I'm searching my words haha
Hi anon, your English is great! I love the found family trope, it’s so wholesome ❤️ These are some of my favorites, hope you enjoy them!
Griffyndors/Slytherins
Cupboard Love by @shealwaysreads (2021, G, 4k)
Harry’s life, and love, in food.
All Tied Up by MyNameIsThunder (2020, M, 6k)
Blaise is determined to find out why the entrance to the Slytherin common room is acting up all of a sudden. Draco is determined to keep it a secret.
It's Friday (I'm in Love) by @punk-rock-yuppie (2018, E, 16k)
At first, Draco only hangs out with them on Fridays after work; then he starts shagging Potter after pub nights. Then all the rest of the gang tries to befriend Draco and even worse, Potter tries to date him. It’s an absolute disaster, if you ask Draco.
Nice Things by aideomai (2020, M, 22k)
The first thing that happened was Theodore Nott came back from France.
The Moon Looks Lovely Tonight by Omi_Ohmy (2014, M, 35k)
When Harry moves into the damp and empty Black house, it doesn’t quite feel like home. And then the first owl moves in. After that, it’s a steep slope leading to bed-sharing, more owls, assorted housemates, strange potions experiments, and terrible cooking. And a bit of waltzing, too.
(Un)wanted by @aibidil (2020, E, 36k)
Ginny's pregnant, then she's not and Harry's single. Harry, again with no family, doesn't know what to do with this turn of events, or how to find a new life—post-war, post-Ginny, post-abortion—in which he belongs. He doesn't expect that life to include dancing to the Backstreet Boys with Hermione and Draco Malfoy. A story of finding belonging in the unexpected.
Follow the Water by @xanthippe74 (2020, T, 38k)
Harry Potter’s life is fine. Maybe a little dull and predictable, but he shouldn’t complain about that, right? When he unexpectedly finds himself at Luna’s house one afternoon, Harry gets invited to join the secret wonderland that she’s creating with a surprising group of friends.
Right Hand Red by @lqtraintracks (2015, E, 73k)
Harry felt Malfoy's breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory. Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy. Malfoy felt inevitable.
Hermione Granger's Hogwarts Crammer for Delinquents on the Run by waspabi (2016, T, 93k)
‘You're a wizard, Harry' is easier to hear from a half-giant when you're eleven, rather than from some kids on a tube platform when you're seventeen and late for work.
Original characters:
We Might Be Too Old for a Bildungsroman by @wellhalesbells (2015, T, 21k)
Harry finds something he’s been looking for since the war’s end. Admittedly, the packaging’s a bit odder than he expected.
When You Kiss Me (What A Lovely Way To Burn) by Femme (2018, E, 22k)
A drag fairytale of New York in which Draco wears red lipstick and Potter can’t get enough.
Here's The Pencil, Make It Work by ignatiustrout (2013, M, 49k)
Harry thinks "Why is Malfoy working in a coffee shop in muggle London?" is a much simpler question than, "Are you going to accept that auror offer and, if you don't, what will you do?"
Modern Love by @tackytigerfic (2020, E, 61k)
Harry Potter, of all people, knows that life isn’t always fair. And no one gets to be happy all of the time. But surely there’s something more—something better—than a rubbish Ministry job, and a lonely old house, and that feeling that everyone out there is doing a better job of living than Harry is.
Headlights in the Snow by Saras_Girl (2016, M, 71k)
What’s big and purple and smells like tea? Harry is about to find out.

The RAF First Aid Kit is hanging from the waist strap of his B-3 life preserver. Merriman of the 20th FG 79th SQ, posed with three of his ground crew. I'll simply list the items in photo and you find them: A-11, Type-C's, AN-H-15, B-8's, A-14's, B-2's, B-8's again, B-10's, M-3's, B-4's, AN-6550/AN- S-31A "Crusher" and P-51 (Further down this page is a second group of pilots from this same FG SQ). For you beginning collectors, I will make this a test photo. That hose is from the anti-G suit Type G-1 or Type G-2. The pilot on the far left has a hose extending from the waist. Shown circled are the RAF first aid packets. (F-7) Shown above is a an excellent photo of a group of 364th FG pilots. 1 large wound dressing / and 1 safety pin. Either way, both kits contained the following: 2 morphine syringes / 2 anti-burn mitten-gloves / 1 tube of anti-burn jelly 1 oz. One refers to the anti-burn gloves as mittens while the other kit describes them as gloves. The only difference is the printing of contents. The one kit displayed on my fighter pilot is stamped MkIII. RAF: Flying Equipment of the Air War, 1939-45", there were 3 variants of the Aircrew First aid kit - The Mk I, MkII and MkIII. (F-6) According to Mick Prodger's excellent book "Luftwaffe vs. Also in the photo, the connection point for the life raft is shown clearly. One can only speculate on how or why some of these kits wound up in some of the fighter groups. This RAF kit shows up in a few photographs, but not as prevalent as the US parachute first aid kit. (F-5) Shown above is a closer look how the RAF First aid Kit was hung from the life preserver strap. bomber crews, but were much more prevalent with U.S. These gloves show up in a few photos of U.S. (F-4) Shown above is the RAF 1941 pattern gloves accompanied by the silk inserts. The men are shown turning in their personal items before going out on another mission. He too was shot down and became a POW in Nov. Jensen wearing the tanker jacket and pants/coveralls. Garlock who was shot down May 1944 and became a POW. Larsen wearing the tanker pants/coveralls that go with the tanker jacket. (F-3) Shown above are three pilots of the 55th FG. Its use decreased when the B-10 jacket and A-9 pants arrived. The jacket and pant/coveralls were made of the same material and had the wool blanket type lining. It was warmer than the A-2 jacket and more comfortable to wear. The name "tanker jacket" seems to be the term mostly used. (F-2) Shown above is the Tanker Jacket or Combat Jacket. Several of these items are shown in more detail in the photos below. Plus one more RAF item, the AM (Air Ministry) marked whistle. issued first aid kit, the AN-6530 goggles, the A-14 oxygen mask with T-44 mic installed. issue: The tanker jacket and pants/coveralls (shown folded in front), the B-3 life preserver, the B-8 parachute with the U.S. Additional RAF items shown above are the 1940 pattern flying boots, the white silk gloves worn under the 1943 pattern gloves and the RAF 1942 pattern type C helmet. The RAF first aid kit did not replace the standard issue first aid kit tied to every parachute, but was an addition. The RAF first aid kit shows up in the 20th and 364th FGs and possibly more. My figure is based on the many pilots of the 20th and 55th FGs. (F-1) Shown above is one example of what fighter pilots wore late 1943 into the first half of 1944. How Many Republicans Are There In America
Republican Presidents Of The 20th Century
Rep. Schiff: Only Question Is How Many In GOP Will Support Impeachment | Morning Joe | MSNBC
Theodore Roosevelt, 26th, 19011909: The “Trust Buster” is considered one of America’s greatest presidents. He was charismatic and larger than life. He was;also the youngest of all the presidents, entering office at age 42. In;contrast to later Republican presidents, Roosevelt fought hard to limit the powers of large oil and railroad companies.
William H. Taft, 27th, 19091913: Taft may be best known for supporting “Dollar Diplomacy,” the idea that US foreign policy should provide stability with the ultimate goal of promoting American commercial ventures. He was the only president who served as a justice of the Supreme Court .
Warren G. Harding, 29th, 19211923: Harding served just one day shy of three years, dying of a heart attack while in office. His presidency saw the end of World War I but was marked by scandals involving bribery, fraud, and conspiracy.
Reality Check : The Democrats Legislative Fix Will Never Happenand Doesnt Even Touch The Real Threats
Its understandable why Democrats have ascribed a life-or-death quality to S. 1, the For the People bill that would impose a wide range of requirements on state voting procedures. The dozensor hundredsof provisions enacted by Republican state legislatures and governors represent a determination to ensure that the GOP thumb will be on the scale at every step of the voting process. The proposed law would roll that back on a national level by imposing a raft of requirements on statesno excuse absentee voting, more days and hours to votebut would also include public financing of campaigns, independent redistricting commissions and compulsory release of presidential candidates tax returns.
There are all sorts of Constitutional questions posed by these ideas. But theres a more fundamental issue here: The Constitutional clause on which the Democrats are relyingArticle I, Section 4, Clause 1gives Congress significant power over Congressional elections, but none over elections for state offices or the choosing of Presidential electors.

Past Jumps In Party Affiliations
The bump in Democratic affiliation following Biden’s inauguration mirrors that of former President Barack Obama’s first term, Jones said.
“That was really the high point that we’ve seen; kind of the 2006-2009 period, when really the majority of Americans either identified as Democrats outright or were independents but they leaned toward the party,” he said.;”Our data on this only goes back to the ’90s, but it’s pretty much the only time we consistently had one party with the majority of Americans on their side.”
Republican advantages, though rarer and more short-lived, followed the Gulf War in 1991 when George H.W. Bush was in office and the 9/11 terrorist attacks during President George W. Bush’s term, according to Gallup. More people also reported GOP affiliation after the 1994, 2010 and 2014 midterm elections.
Whether the Republican Party can regain advantage during the 2022 midterm elections may rely on the successes of the Biden administration, according to Jones.
“A lot of it is going to depend on how things go over the course of the year. If things get better with the coronavirus and the economy bounces back and a lot of people expect Biden can keep relatively strong approval ratings, then that will be better for the Democrats,” Jones said.;”But if things start to get worse unemployment goes up or coronavirus gets worse; then his approval is going to go down. It’s going to make things a lot better for the Republican Party for the midterm next year.”
Democrats Think Many Republicans Sincere And Point To Policy
Democrats, however, were somewhat more generous in their answers.;;More than four in ten Democratic voters ; felt that most Republican voters had the countrys best interests at heart . ;And many tried their best to answer from the others perspective. A 45-year-old male voter from Ohio imagined that as a Republican, he was motivated by Republicans harsh stance on immigration; standing up for the 2nd Amendment; promised tax cuts.;;A 30-year-old woman from Colorado felt that Republican votes reflected the desires to stop abortion stop gay marriage from ruining our country and give us our coal jobs back.
Other Democrats felt that their opponents were mostly motivated by the GOPs opposition to Obamacare, lower taxes and to support a party that reduced unemployment.;

Gallup: Democrats Now Outnumber Republicans By 9 Percentage Points Thanks To Independents
I think what we have to do as a party is battle the damage to the Democratic brand, Democratic National Committee Chairman Jamie Harrison said on The Daily Beasts . Gallup reported Wednesday that, at least relatively speaking, the Democratic brand is doing pretty good.
In the first quarter of 2021, 49 percent of U.S. adults identified as Democrats or independents with Democratic leanings, versus 40 percent for Republicans and GOP leaders, Gallup said. The 9-percentage-point Democratic advantage is the largest Gallup has measured since the fourth quarter of 2012. In recent years, Democratic advantages have typically been between 4 and 6 percentage points.
New Gallup polling finds that in the first quarter of 2021, an average of 49% of Americans identify with/lean toward the Democratic Party, versus 40 percent for Republicans.
Thats the largest gap since 2012:
Greg Sargent
Party identification, polled on every Gallup survey, is something that we think is important to track to give a sense to the relevant strength of the two parties at any one point in time and how party preferences are responding to events,Gallup senior editor Jeff Jones told USA Today.

Nearly A Third Of Young Americans Say That Politics Has Gotten In The Way Of A Friendship; Differences Of Opinion On Race
Thirty-one percent of young Americans, but 37% of young Biden voters and 32% of young Trump voters say that politics has gotten in the way of a friendship before. Gender is not a strong predictor of whether or not politics has invaded personal space, but race and ethnicity are. Young whites are more likely than young Blacks to say that politics has gotten in the way–and nearly half of white Biden voters say politics has negatively impacted a friendship; 30% of white Trump voters say the same.
When young Americans were asked whether a difference of opinion on several political issues might impact a friendship, 44% of all young Americans said that they could not be friends with someone who disagreed with them on race relations. Sixty percent of Biden voters agreed with this sentiment, as did a majority of women and Blacks . Americans between 18 and 24 were more likely than those slightly older to feel that race relations would cause a problem with friendships. Differences of opinion on whether or not to support Trump was an issue for slightly more than a third , followed by immigration , police reform , abortion , climate change , and guns .
Democrats Return The Favor: Republicans Uninformed Or Self
The 429 Democratic voters in our sample returned the favor and raised many of the same themes. Democrats inferred that Republicans must be VERY ill-informed, or that Fox news told me to vote for Republicans.;;Or that Republicans are uneducated and misguided people guided by what the media is feeding them.
Many also attributed votes to individual self-interest whereas GOP voters feel Democrats want free stuff, many Democrats believe Republicans think that I got mine and dont want the libs to take it away, or that some day I will be rich and then I can get the benefits that rich people get now.
Many used the question to express their anger and outrage at the other side.;;Rather than really try to take the position of their opponents, they said things like, I like a dictatorial system of Government, Im a racist, I hate non-whites.;

Fast Facts About Americas Governors
Overview
There were eleven gubernatorial races in 2020 and the overall theme was status quo. Nine of the eleven races featured incumbents running for re-electionand all 9 incumbents won. Taking The Perspective Of Others Proved To Be Really Hard
The divide in the United States is wide, and one indication of that is how difficult our question proved for many thoughtful citizens. A 77-year-old Republican woman from Pennsylvania was typical of the voters who struggled with this question, telling us, This is really hard for me to even try to think like a devilcrat!, I am sorry but I in all honesty cannot answer this question. I cannot even wrap my mind around any reason they would be good for this country.
Similarly, a 53-year-old Republican from Virginia said, I honestly cannot even pretend to be a Democrat and try to come up with anything positive at all, but, I guess they would vote Democrat because they are illegal immigrants and they are promised many benefits to voting for that party. Also, just to follow what others are doing. And third would be just because they hate Trump so much. The picture she paints of the typical Democratic voter being an immigrant, who goes along with their party or simply hates Trump will seem like a strange caricature to most Democratic voters. But her answer seems to lack the animus of many.;;
Democrats struggled just as much as Republicans. A 33-year-old woman from California told said, i really am going to have a hard time doing this but then offered that Republicans are morally right as in values, going to protect us from terrorest and immigrants, going to create jobs.

Cedar Point 2018
May 25 & 26, 2018 Photo Album Video Album
If you can’t find a way to go to Cedar Point during dead week, Memorial Day Weekend has proven to be a great time to head to Cedar Point and find moderate attendance and lighter lines. In the past four years I’ve spent 3 Memorial Day weekends at the park, and have had a great time on each visit. Even with the long drive from North Carolina to Sandusky, the trip is worth it to visit America’s Roller Coast, and having followed the transformation of Mean Streak into Steel Vengeance over the last 2 years, I was determined to get to the park this year to ride. My friends Isaac and Blake joined in, and on Friday morning we headed north.
Isaac found a nice AirBnB about 30 minutes south of the park and, after stopping off there to drop off our stuff and freshen up, we made our way onto the peninsula. We parked in the Cedar Point Shores parking lot since the Magnum lot was closed, and headed in to meet up with Bryan Bird. After introductions and salutations, we walked towards Dragster, which was testing after being closed. The line opened as we walked by, so we quickly got into the queue as the wait wouldn’t be this short all weekend most likely.
Dragster is always a great experience, even if it isn’t a great coaster. We waited about 35 minutes or so to ride near the back of the train. Dragster always makes me anxious because of that launch. This was Blake’s first time at the park and first time on anything like this. As always, the launch was super fast and intense and I really still like Dragster as a ride. This was our only ride all weekend because it was being cranky both days.
We walked around the front of the park and headed over towards Millennium Force. I noticed when driving by that the line started at the end of the ramp and was happy to see that was still the case. It only took about 30 minutes to get on the ride. I know the coaster gets a lot of ‘hate’, but I actually really like it. The first drop is already amazing and the setting can’t be beat. There is airtime on the two hills hopping back over from the island, and even the small hop by the station gives you a rise out of your seat. Blake once again loved it.
After that we headed across the midway to Rougarou, which was nearly a walk on, and we got on in the back. The ride packs a punch and is so much better than Mantis ever was. We walked around for a bit and thru Frontier Town. Steel Vengeance had a very long line, so we walked around the park and finally hit up the burger joint back near Steel Vengeance as Bryan said the food was good. And the food was decent. The customer service, however, was severely lacking. It took way too long and they kept messing up orders, but eventually we did get our burgers. After that we headed to the entrance to Steel Vengeance to get in line to end our nite. The wait was about an hour and twenty minutes with them running one train.
Steel Vengeance-I can’t even give a proper rundown of the ride. Its just as good as everyone said, no overhyping here. The first drop was amazing. We rode in the back seat. The 90 degree drop was amazing. After that you have the two outward banked ejector airtime hills. Then I can’t honestly tell you much about what happened because it was a big convoluted mess. And I mean that in the most awesome way possible. This coaster has the intensity of Voyage (the only ride I can say is in it’s category), but without the rattle (however slight) that any wooden coaster can have. I was weak in the knees and dizzy afterwards for a good thirty minutes. Instant number one. It delivers every thing. All of the things. It has them. Airtime, floater and ejector. Sideways airtime. Inversions. Insanity.
So that was the end of the first evening. I was in total ecstasy. And it shown thru for the entire ride back to the AirBnB thirty minutes away. Once we got there we got our stuff together and I took a shower and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning we got up and got ready to head out. There was a McDonalds down the street that was good for breakfast. We pulled into the parking lot right around 9am and headed in for Platinum Pass early entry. We had planned to go straight back and get on Steele Vengeance, but once we got back there the line was already full. We decided to forgo that till the end of the day once again and get some other early rides in. And the closest early ride was Maverick. I still love Maverick in every way. I’m glad they’re restoring effects. Thusfar some of the lights in the tunnel are working. I can’t wait till the LED walls and more of the effects are added back in in the tunnel. It really helps an already amazing ride.
It was getting close to park opening so we headed up to Valravn thru Frontier Town, stopping by the closed petting zoo for a brief visit with some donkeys. On our last trip, Isaac and I got a back row nite ride because it was the debut year and the line was really long, and the ride barely ran the next day. This was my first daytime ride, and we rode in the front row this time.
Valravn-That first drop on any dive coaster is great. The view from Valravn though, is really beautiful. While not a huge fan of dive coasters I do think this is the best layout, even if Sheikra has better theming. The inversions are smooth and that zero g roll has great airtime, which was hitting much harder on this visit. I really like the coaster more on a second go round.
As we were in the area we hit up Blue Streak, which was (and has been for some time now) running phenomenally along the track. Great airtime and such a classic coaster. Then we walked over towards the front of the park. I mentioned at some point that I wanted to ride Ocean Motion as I never had, and it has such a cute, quaint setting.
Though I'm still trying to get back down to my pre-surgery weight of 2015 (I’ve lost 20lbs since December!), I’m not skinny enough to ride Wicked Twister. And that’s fine for now because I know I’ll be back down. But I didn’t want Isaac nor Blake to miss out, so after getting some Starbucks I told them to get in line while I sat and watched and had some coffee.
Since we were already in the area and close to Gatekeeper, that was what we got in line for next, which was basically a walk-on. Maybe a one train wait. I know this coaster gets a lot of flack for being big and snoopy and boring, but I like big and snoopy and don’t think it’s boring. Plus it’s very stunning to look at. After Gatekeeper I took Blake to see the top floor of the Coliseum, knowing that he’d love the big band era art deco.
We decided to have lunch, and with Isaac having some food allergies, and Blake being in the mood for it, we decided to hit Panda Express. Oh, and since I have the dining pass, I was fine with it too. We walked over to Melt first as I wanted to try it out at some point and decided to have dinner there. Then we walked to the main midway and followed a marching band. As we walked across the park we were able to see some of the rehearsal for the new show on the former Luminosity stage. Meh. I liked Luminosity. Once we were done eating we got in line for Iron Dragon. This was actually one of the longer waits of the day, clocking in at around 20 minutes. But thats okay. I can give or take Iron Dragon, but didn’t want Blake to miss out.
I wanted to see what the wait for Steel Vengeance would be like so our next stop was back in that corner of the park, but sadly the line was well over 2 hours. We walked back to the main midway and hit up Derby Racer. I love this thing. I really need to ride the other 2 at some point. At that point we were on our way out the front gate to move the car and hit up the water park for a bit. The lines were even lighter at Cedar Point Shores. I never visited Soak City. The current waterpark looks outstanding. Much better than what it used to be. We weren’t planning on staying very long. After changing into our swim trunks we headed over to some random slide complex and did a pink slide.
Isaac and I had wanted to do the drop slides, as we love them at Carowinds, but we passed for the moment and went to the big family raft slide. As we neared the top, we could see a storm coming our way. The large raft slide was really a lot of fun, and I got some good airtime up the side of the trough. At the end it was starting to sprinkle, so we went for a dip in the older lazy river. I wish Carowinds’ Lazy River was this long (Or that they had 2 like CPS). As the rain got heavier we decided to call it a day at the water park after about an hour and a half just as the bottom dropped out of the clouds.
We went into the bathhouse and changed while basically being stranded in their for around 30 minutes. Then once the rain subsided enough we headed to the car then drove over to Hotel Breakers for a drink at their bar. I also had a cinnamon bun from Starbucks whilst drinking my Long Island Iced Tea.
The sun came out while we were hanging at Breakers so we headed down the boardwalk and entered the park by Windseeker, which I contest is still the best one of the group thus far. Then I wanted to get some pictures from the Ferris Wheel, so that was obviously next. We had looked at the line for Raptor before going to Shores, but it was still long. At this point, however, the line was maybe 20 minutes so we hit that up next. Blake and Isaac were then going to get their credits on Corkscrew as I took some photos, but the line was really long so we headed to Melt for dinner. This was my first (and hopefully not last) Melt experience. Our server was great and so was the food. I like all of the nostalgia Cedar Point pictures in the restaurant.
A ride on the CP & LE railroad was our next stop. Had it not been getting late we’d have rode the entire circuit but Blake still needed some rides and we hadn’t ridden two of the best rides in the park, so we took another look at Steel Vengeance’s line, then headed over to Gemini. At this point it was only running the red side, but the ride was still super fun as always.
By this point it was a little past twilight and we headed to Magnum. I couldn’t take my small nap sack on so I waited for Blake and Isaac to ride, then Isaac took all of our stuff to the car while Blake and I rode in the front of the car at nite. Magnum is as glorious as ever, even if I didn’t get trim free rides this time. But that’s…okay.
Blake still needed the mine train, but I needed a bathroom, so I told him to go ride that since I knew it would be a walk on while I went to the restroom, then we headed to Steel Vengeance to meet up. The fireworks were going off as Blake and Isaac arrived and we got in line just before the point we had the nite before. Again it was somewhere between 70 and 90 minutes to ride, but I lucked out and got a ride in row 8 as a single rider. And it was still so amazing. As we walked to the Magnum entrance to the park, I saw my first Dragster rollback.
My only main issues with the visit was that obviously they’re only running one train on Steel Vengeance, otherwise I’d have ridden a few more times as lines were light all weekend. Cedar Point nearly every year is starting to spoil me as I’ve been 3 of the past four Memorial Days. I think I’ll likely skip next year, but I will definitely be back for more of America’s Roller Coast soon.
We headed back to the AirBnB and we were all wiped out, so I fell asleep pretty soon after closing my eyes, ready for the drive the next morning to Kings Island.
