Been a while since I last posed anything but hey check it out I made this a few days ago!

I said this was my sketch account so you guys get to see the thumbnail idea sketches for this art work! I also made a speedpaint of this artwork!

All of these are centered around the idea of the green comet that is passing by for the first time in 50,000 years! It all gave me the idea to do a kind of somber artwork where Marcy is thinking of her past.

Sooo its my birthday today and I've decided what better way to celebrate it than posting my biggest kins :]

Something I think is very funny is that Ice King, Marcy and Bubblegum have been in each other's orbit for centuries before the main series. Early Marcy, hurt and isolated, I don't think would talk to or about Ice King all that much. I think she just straight up avoided him as much as she could. But she did date Bubbleum pre-series for a while and probably was at least a little emotionally vulnerable.

So I think she mentioned Simon, off handedly, like he wasn't once the most important person in her life. So imagine you're Bubblegum and your notoriously free wheeling, punk rock gf starts talking about this Simon dude. How he saved her from the wasteland, raised her, loved her as a dad and then left without explanation. This... doesn't sound like a real thing that happened. Bubblegum definitely files all Simon stories under "Things Marcy For Sure Made Up."

Now a couple of centuries pass and you learn, all in quite a rush, that not only was Marcy's "Simon" actually real but he's alive, here right now and has been the annoying Ice Wizard that has been kidnapping you for hundreds of years. I think I might lose my mind a little.

The fact that there's a bit of a love triangle in my Raised in Amphibia AU in which Anne and Sasha are kinda fighting for Marcy's affections (Marcy loves them both but she knows she will never be allowed to marry either of them so she can't even begin to think about choosing between the two) only to from archnemesis as Defender of Frog Valley and Lady Paramount of Toad Tower to unlikely allies with an homoerotic rivalry going on (they share the same objective which is to save Marcy from her father) to a surprisingly great team in combat to friends to best friends to eventually falling in love and feeling their hearts being torn when they eventually find Marcy and individually realize that their unspoken love flr each other did nothing to placate the love they have for Marcy. There's not "getting over" anyone - maybe they were just born like this, maybe it was written in their destiny when they crossed the bridge between the worlds together - that they'd always be drawn to each other. That they'd always have enough love in their hearts for each other.

I know the fandom likes to comment on Marcy having nerve injuries and potentially using a wheelchair or crutch or something in the future, but what about Sasha?

That girl got a glowing scythe to the back and also a flaming blade to her ankle. Do you know how bad Achilles injuries hurt? And if not treated correctly or right away can linger for years with discomfort or lessened strength? (Not at all speaking from experience). Not to mention back injuries on top of that. Like how deep did those cuts go?

So imagine when they're older, Sasha never fully recovers the strength she had in her ankle, and her back twinges each time she raises her arms to a certain point. Scar tissue and nerve damage leave a confused mix of pain signals in her brain. There are good days where she can go about without needing assistance, then there are days where it slowly starts to build up and makes her tired, needing a cane. Then there are bad days. She doesn't like talking about the bad days.

But there's good that can come out of it.

She joins social leagues for disabled or injured sportsmen, learning how to navigate through/with her injuries and scars different sports to still keep her active and strong. She drags Anne to a few of these (as she's also dealing with post war/death injuries. They all are), and it helps with reconnecting with each other.

Marcy takes delight in decorating her supports; drawing all over her cane or designing tattoos that enhance her scars in a good way (I love the phoenix or heron back tattoo idea).

To end this ramble, there's so many possibilities and pain about this, and I don't see it explored too often.

Massive Spoilers Ahead

Ok I liked the last two episodes but I have my nitpick. Let's get this out of my head so i can go to sleep.

So I'm not surprised that betty and simon "broke up" but like I kinda am? I've wanted Simon to move on from betty, to be able to live in the present and cherish it for what it is, but I think it's the way they broke up honestly that feels a bit off

They couldn't be together anymore. betty merged with golb and simon couldn't follow, and the cycle of chasing each other eternally wasn't healthy. People say their relationship when they were together was unhealthy and while that isn't untrue, the chasing and obsessing over each other was way worse. Betty tore herself apart for simon, and simon was left with a hole in his heart for 1000 years that he could never fill.

And it's that obsession which feels a bit... i dunno, left out? It's definitely addressed in the show, beth pointing out that nova was obsessed with casper. But it's also pointed out that Nova and Casper did love each other.

And Simon and Betty DO love each other so their parting, as reasonable and as fulfilling as it is, feels anticlimactic in a way? I think they should have parted with tears in their eyes, both acknowledging that they've made mistakes and the past can't be changed but they love each other so, so much and they wouldn't trade their time with each other, as short as it was, for anything. Betty's "You were a wonderful experience" doesn't track with the betty in elements wanting to go back in time to prevent simon from finding the crown and stopping the mushroom war and the betty in the finale who SUMMONED CTHULHU AND THEN MERGED WITH IT TO SAVE SIMON SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE KEEPING SIMON SAFE WAS HER TRUEST, DEEPEST WISH

im being a bit dramatic. the series finale was good i think, and most of everything i wanted happened.

Betty clearly wanted what's best for Simon, and what would be best for him now is to move on. But I think admitting that to herself, to Simon, should have been more painful. That's my nitpick. Simon's tale is a thousand year old tragedy and I think letting go would have been the most painful thing Simon and Betty had ever done.

As a quick forward- I love you so much Dill and I'm so glad that you are interested in my OCs. Sky is my baby girl and she makes me so happy. I love that you love talking about her. Everything I'm about to say is all very silly and I'm not mad at you I promise. With that being said...

I have mentioned on multiple occasions that Sky is not a complex character and she is absolutely NOT the character to use for this ask game.

So. Here's every single ask from that list that I cannot answer with Sky because she literally does not experience character trauma or complexity!

Betrayal, Bound (unless you count the Horizon but that's stupid, that's her fucking home), Failure, Ghost, Guilt, Heartbreak, Hide, Hunt, Mask, Secret, Skin, and Torture. 12 of 24. I can't answer 50% of these questions because they simply do not apply to Sky.

Of the remaining 12, Break, Desire, Fear, Hate, Midnight, Mistake, and Pain aren't really gonna have interesting answers, or I can't answer in the way the question implies it should be answered (ex For Midnight, it's implied that it's talking about fears, and Sky wouldn't be sleeping because she's reading a good book). So, that leaves us with 5 questions that I can provide a good answer for for Sky! Out of 24!

Okay woah. Passive-aggressiveness is done. Sorry I just really like emphasizing that Sky is not a complex character. Here's a few of the questions that I can answer!

Alone: How does your OC deal with loneliness? Have they ever been completely alone before? How do they act when there's no one around to see them?

Sky has spent most of her life being alone. She's not that bothered by it, but it gets to her every now and then. When she's feeling more lonely, Sky will typically go out, interact with a few of the Horizon citizens that don't hate her (Looking at YOU, Moongoons, how dare you hate my girlie), and often bring Ru with her. Or, she'll spend the day taking care of Ru, walking him, giving him plenty of food, dressing him up, all that. She'll also spend time working on her garden. It really boils down to trying to stay out of her house, since the confinement makes her feel more lonely. And, of course, if ETC is in town, she'll visit xem.

Fear: What is your OC's greatest fear? What do they do when confronted with it? Are they open with their fear, or do they hide it away? Future: What's the worst possible future for your OC? Are they taking steps to avoid that outcome? Are they even aware it's a possibility? Hate: What does your OC hate? Why? How do they act towards the object of their hatred?

Lumping these three together because they have similar answers. Sky's worst fear is King Moonjumper finding a way to get out of the Horizon, because the result of that would be disastrous. It's not a severe, pressing fear, but it's definitely there and it's definitely her worst fear. The worst possible ending for Sky would be exactly that- King Moonjumper winning and finding a was out of the Horizon, specifically in a way that ends up with Sky staying alive. Because then she would get to witness him slowly tear apart the space-time continuum and destroy her entire home!

With all that being said. Guess who Sky hates.

Monster: Is your OC monstrous in any way? Is there something that makes them monstrous? Are they aware of their own monstrosity? Do they accept it or reject it?

Besides the obvious visual indicators, Sky does sort of consider herself to be a monster. Not a monster as in a horrible person, but quite literally a monster. She's a native Horizon citizen, she's visibly not human/humanoid (kind of?), and she doesn't consider herself to be human in any way, including using human as a measure of moral standard. Sky is a creature a critter and she likes that.

Which. This is somewhat my reasoning behind why I hate making Sky in Picrews, which I think I've mentioned on Discord once or twice. She is very much a critter to me and I don't want to take that away.

Wound: How does your OC handle being wounded? Are their wounds mostly physical? Mental? Emotional? What's the worst wound your OC has ever experienced?

Sky gets hurt a lot. Thanks, King Moonjumper. She's fairly okay with it, since she is capable of regrowing limbs, but it does still hurt. She has a higher than average pain tolerance. As for emotional pains, Sky doesn't get many (once again, not a complex character), but every now and then she'll get really frustrated with King Moonjumper or very lonely or just overall have a bad day and those tend to be a bit rough for her. But she's always able to bounce back!

I wonder how long Marcy tried to get Simon back from the crown after they met up again before she gave up and avoided him.

I can see vampire Marcy roaming endlessly with no purpose after she destroyed all the vampires and finding Ice King. Initially she must have been thrilled, both she and Simon were alive and had all of eternity together. But it became clear the crown's madness had sunk in deep to him and the Simon she knew was lost. She screamed at him, talked gently to him, told him stories, cried into his shoulders, grabbed the crown and ran far, far away with it. Nothing worked, this obnoxious looney tunes character was all she had left of her dad.

I bet she consulted wizards, read books of magic and searched the nightosphere for answers. Once she met Bubblegum then she was begging for a scientific approach to cure Simon. It backfired when Ice King fixated on her and Bonnie held a grudge over that for centuries. I wonder how long it took before despair set in and allowed anger and frustration to build up.

After all, Simon had abandoned her years before. He chose the crown over her in the first place so why was she trying so hard? If it weren't for him, she'd still be mortal and not cursed to live forever. Time had passed, she had forgotten how much Simon resented the crown and what it was doing to him but was helpless to stop. She was no longer a scared child but an angry young adult stuck permanently in the confusing state of late teendom.

Marcy did not have Betty's obsessiveness, her knowledge of research practices, her willingness to go beyond the limit of reason and responsibility to get Simon back. One day, she gave Ice King a gruff goodbye, threw away her notes and proceeded to keep him far away for hundreds of years. Ice King is brought up in conversation and she diverts, never talks to or about him. Enough time passes that no one remembers they used to have a history, even Bonnie never got the full details.

She told herself the Ice King meant nothing to her until he tracked her down -once again- to jam and she realized not only was Simon still there but he still loved her. And then did she open her heart.
