Massive Spoilers Ahead

Ok I liked the last two episodes but I have my nitpick. Let's get this out of my head so i can go to sleep.

So I'm not surprised that betty and simon "broke up" but like I kinda am? I've wanted Simon to move on from betty, to be able to live in the present and cherish it for what it is, but I think it's the way they broke up honestly that feels a bit off

They couldn't be together anymore. betty merged with golb and simon couldn't follow, and the cycle of chasing each other eternally wasn't healthy. People say their relationship when they were together was unhealthy and while that isn't untrue, the chasing and obsessing over each other was way worse. Betty tore herself apart for simon, and simon was left with a hole in his heart for 1000 years that he could never fill.

And it's that obsession which feels a bit... i dunno, left out? It's definitely addressed in the show, beth pointing out that nova was obsessed with casper. But it's also pointed out that Nova and Casper did love each other.

And Simon and Betty DO love each other so their parting, as reasonable and as fulfilling as it is, feels anticlimactic in a way? I think they should have parted with tears in their eyes, both acknowledging that they've made mistakes and the past can't be changed but they love each other so, so much and they wouldn't trade their time with each other, as short as it was, for anything. Betty's "You were a wonderful experience" doesn't track with the betty in elements wanting to go back in time to prevent simon from finding the crown and stopping the mushroom war and the betty in the finale who SUMMONED CTHULHU AND THEN MERGED WITH IT TO SAVE SIMON SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE KEEPING SIMON SAFE WAS HER TRUEST, DEEPEST WISH

im being a bit dramatic. the series finale was good i think, and most of everything i wanted happened.

Betty clearly wanted what's best for Simon, and what would be best for him now is to move on. But I think admitting that to herself, to Simon, should have been more painful. That's my nitpick. Simon's tale is a thousand year old tragedy and I think letting go would have been the most painful thing Simon and Betty had ever done.

Post-war redcoat trio lore....

This is mainly William & Henry focused. I fear theyre more tragic than Charles.

Starting with Charles(the least depressing one I fear) he goes back to Pennsylvania to live with his wife, Charlotte, by 1781. He goes to law school late, but eventually becomes a lawyer, which out of the three, means he stays in touch with Hamilton the easiest. He stays a loyalist despite the wars end, but he doesnt hold it against the colonies or anything. He stays in contact with Henry and William the best he can, but the letter-sending is a hassle and he rarely receives response.(Whether that be because letters are lost or the two are just plain ignoring him who knows.) He eventually has two kids; Charles Gray II and Marceline Gray ^_^! Overall his life post-war is fine and he lives a fulfilling life, which brings us to 1825 when he dies at the age of 72 due to scarlet fever. He was happy overall and he loved life idk what to say, yay charles!

Onto William! He moves to South Carolina with Henry around the same time Charles leaves to go with his wife. They own a small plantation which in truth is closer to a farm if anything; by no means are they rich but theyre not struggling or anything. He attempted to court some women the first couple years back but ultimately gave up and decided it was too much of a hassle and that either way Henry is better company than any women could possibly be. William keeps in contact with Charles the best he can, Hamilton not so much. Though, during the war he'd been shot numerous times, most wounds being left untreated so hes stuck with chronic pain and a weakened immune system. This means for post-war William, his health is kind of shitty and he gets sick more often, leaving him bed ridden for days to weeks at a time. William mostly keeps to himself if he ever has to go out and leaves Henry to do most of the talking because god knows that even if hes "crude," Henry isnt nervous to talk. By late-1794, William catches influenza. His immune system is already awful, but not awful enough he dies quickly. Henry tries his best to care for him but its not enough, and by 1995, at the age of 40, he ends up passing from the illness.

Yeah okay, Henry! This is where the TW comes in. So, I mentioned a lot of his post-war situation in williams paragraph. They move in together, they have a plantation, theyre happy yeah! Woo! Okay, now he does get in a few relationships - the longest being two years from 1785 to 1787 - but none of them last longer. He falls in and out of depression with his constant worrying over Williams health, but its hidden well enough. Speaking of, he becomes rather talented medically-wise with how often hes tasked with caring for the other. He keeps in touch with Hamilton better than William, and he also still speaks with Charles, as is customary. Im just gonna jump to 1794, when williams health starts declining. Obviously, its a stressful period for Henry and he does his hardest to help him but clearly, it doesnt work. He has near run-ins with death for months after Williams death, hes being overall impulsive and acting erratically(as is expected, I suppose.) He drinks, does dumb shit, etc. Eventually, 6 months after William, he dies from an opium overdose at 38 in which is never confirmed if it was suicide or simply an accident. Neither Charles or Hamilton hear of either deaths until months later, when Henrys dad reaches out.

I think I might be a genius. Okay- imagine this. This isn't a theory, more of an AU concept that I think would've really worked well within the bounds of the show.

Simon, Fionna and cake jump to another universe. This universes simon/ice king has died due to finally remembering marceline and protecting her from the vampire king using his ice abilities, but dying in the process. Out of grief, and despite PBs protests, Marcy puts on the crown to carry on simons legacy and keep whats left oh him alive. Putting a strain on her and PBs relationship and driving Marceline to madness as she puts on the crown and becomes the Ice Queen. (Possibly "Defying gravity" vibes? Animatic idea?)

The gang go to find the crown in this universe and find Marceline, whos overwhelmed with emotions in seeing Simon again, and they ask her if they could take the crown so they could fix Fionnas world and make Simon ice king again, but Marcy has become attached to the crown and says "But you're here now, you can just stay with me, you dont have to go back. I can keep the crown and we can be together again, Simon! I can protect you now!" But Simon of course can't do this, he has his own Marcy at home and needs to save Fionna and cakes world. He pleads with Marcy to let him take the crown so she can return to normal and reconnect with PB, but Marcy is so stricken with grief over her Simons death that she refuses. They probably get into some sort of fight, where PB shows up and restrains Marceline so they can take the crown, but it gets destroyed in the process. Marcy and PB have a heart to heart, she apologizes and says goodbye to Simon for the last time, and the gang universe jumps again.

And thats just in context of the show, this could make for a good AU on its own, not to mention how this universes Betty would be affected by this, or what the conflict between the ice and candy kingdoms would be now that the rulers are ex girlfriends, ooooooo im so smart im gonna draw this later no doubt.

so rocky used to be a bandit with his partner in crime, marceline. well one day a train heist went Horribly Wrong, and rocky got shot off the train. he fell under the wheels and fucking died! so marceline was obviously like WHAT THE FUCK so she contacted some kind of god somehow idk ill get to that later and rocky was brought back!!!! except Very Wrong. so now hes the void guy youve all seen! he cant talk anymore, he can only parrot back what other people have said to him in a voice that give everyone an EXTREME uncanny valley sense, so he usually stays quiet. i drew him pre voidification cause i like his face. rocky is his nickname, he doesnt remember his real one. he got it cause this cunt climbs anything he can dig his grubby little fingers into. like u look away for like 2 minutes and surprise! hes on ur roof. if hes bored enough he’ll crawl under ur deck too

ive redone mr satellites story a little. so hes a bounty hunter, kind of set in the star wars universe??? idk. so before the whole bounty hunter thing he was a cargo pilot, he and his ship got sucked into a black hole but he lived! somehow!! and now his molecules are unstable!!!! basically he can pull a reaper overwatch and kind of Disintegrate, move his atoms around, and reform wherever. he uses this to get into weird spaces, thru doors n vents and all that. idk how he got into bounty hunting yet im workin on that. satellite hasnt like . talked to other human beings in a hot while so hes a little, how you say. batshit.

1. Who loves the other person's perfume/ cologne?

— me, me, me. im a sucker for a good perfume especially if the smell is not so strong and he has so many perfumes that i often use because why are men's perfumes always so good? it's not fair...can't help it but to steal his perfume along with his clothes and he doesn't mind, especially when i return them and they smell like the perfumes i own. sharing is caring ♡

2. Who made the first move?

— me, of course. do you see this man initiating anything first besides throwing a punch? it started with holding hands and physically being close to him, like me putting my legs over his, my head on his shoulder and a lot of cuddles, and the times when i didn't held his hand he just stared at me holding out his hand wondering why we aren't intertwining fingers while walking...ah, my sweet chika always wanting me close to him.

3. Who gets butterflies in their stomach when they kiss the other?

— i fear i will answer everything with myself, but me. i am a romantic at heart and i can feel the butterflies just by thinking of him. and when we kiss, oh god i have a whole garden with butterflies inside me he is just so casual about it while i go crazy and can't get enough of him and his soft lips while cupping his soft cheeks and just doing everything and anything with him makes me get butterflies.

4. Who likes to sleep on the other's chest?

— him. i like to hold something when i sleep, be it blanket or my bt21 cooky plushie. and chika is the perfect plushie. its actually so nice and calming because i used to fall asleep as a baby playing with my mother's hair, and now as he is already fallen asleep i play and comb his hair with my fingers before i too go to dreamland, he is just so nice.

5. How do they balance one another out?

— our personalities are opposites attract as he is the quiet nonchalant boyfriend and im the sunshine loving girlfriend. my emotional intelligence is on another level, so i can understand him pretty well but that doesn't mean i wouldn't get angry when he doesn't care about things i find important, like please buy me a flower or just pluck some violet from the ground i don't want much. most of the times he just stays silent, with that bored expression on his face and is hard to read it, but his body language gives it away. for example, i'll notice small gestures that show he cares—perhaps how he lingers a bit longer during a hug, or the way he remembers small details about me that i’ve mentioned before. the main thing is having patience and understanding that his love and care may manifest in ways that aren't always obvious, but are no less genuine. over time, i’ve learned to appreciate these signs, even if they don't always align with my own expectations. his reserved nature doesn't mean he doesn’t care; it simply means he expresses his affection in a way that’s unique to him, and understanding this is part of what makes our relationship special.

— movie night at my place when my parents weren't home so i can invite people over, and what better way to spend time with your we are in a relationship, but at the same with we aren't, but we do everything a couple do, while we aren't a couple than watching lion king. cuddling on my bed as the films goes on and we just talk, or its mostly me talking about how the soundtrack is so good and then "can you feel the love tonight?" starts playing, something just happened between us. i remember feeling the warmth of his body next to mine, the comfort of his presence so natural yet somehow different. it was like the song was narrating our unspoken emotions. and then it happened ... our first kiss. it felt like everything fell into place and it was then when i realized how much i cared for him, how deeply i was in love, and I could sense he felt the same. it was just us, showing our love in the simplest, yet most profound way. it's the magic of disney, isn't it?

7. Who tells the other person they love them every time they leave the house?

— me, like please chika say it it's not hard, i know you show me you love me, but please say it back. i can tell him i love him every second when we are together, he won't escape it and won't hear the end it. i love you chika, i say before leaving a kiss on his squishy and soft cheeks.

8. Who teaches the other a new skill?

— i think we both teach eachother new things. he teaches me how to fight more properly, and i teach him about his emotions and feelings. i will probably teach him to cook or eat something different besides burgers and fries (even tho i love our dates when we go to get fast food). can you imagine chika eating ceaser salad? because i will force him to eat it. i just want my boyfriend to eat various of things to be healthy. going to fix him and his habits, to love is to be changed and he has no other option.

9. Who is better with animals?

— guess the answer, me. i love animals and sometimes i buy food the strays. im good with cats and he is forced to visit my cat with me every weekend when me and my parents go to the countryside. my cat is like chika, chika is like my cat. both wont look your way even if you call them. they are spoiled. my cat will only eat his food if it's cut into small pieces and handed to him, but then again i will do everything for my cat so spoiling him is a must. he leaves and then comebacks to eat, sometimes with scars and wounds because he fights... sounds like chika right? but both will show you affection in their own way, and when i see my boyfriend patting him and playing with him, it's the most cutest thing ever and i definitely have my new wallpaper.

10. Who can't stop making jokes at a bad time to try to get the other to laugh?

— im trying my best to see the smile on his face by telling him jokes i know are funny and wholesome and he just stares at me, the audacity. and then i get angry, more and more, super angry because is he some kind of robot or something? and then i hear a small laugh ... oh, he is smiling now, how precious. takiishi chika just wanted me to get angry, and he enjoys pushing my buttons as my patience runs out. i can't control my emotions sometimes especially my anger.

So what exactly is the premise of this AT au?

I have a few AU’s going on right now, but i’ll list off the ones I have posted here for time and for the sake of my poor grammar skills.

The first one I ever showed on my blog was my interpretation of Finn growing up with Minerva on the islands, I took the line “You grew up to be a helper too?” and RAN with it bookie. I do plan for Finn to end up stranded in Ooo at some point, but we’ll see ;)

The second is basically a crossover AU with Rise of the TMNT and, well, Adventure Time. This one originated because I wanted to see how my human Leo design would look over a Marceline screenshot, then I realized that he looked out of place next to PB so I drew my silly lil yokai-mutant Jackson over her as a gum-oni-nekomata hybrid.

After that I sorta just assigned a character in another characters place and well, now we’ve got April the Human and Raph the Turtle!

The third AU isn’t completely mine, the vampire - emo finn idea came form sufyaaaa on insta and finnsemophase here on tumblr, after that I just added my own bits and pieces to it, which actually leads to AU four.

For AU four at first I wanted to just draw the Finn - Candy Queen idea but then I started thinking about it story wise and well, I think im gonna merge it in a bit with the vampire Finn AU, where Finn grew up human with Minerva in the wastelands instead of the islands and met Bonnie losing herself to pure elemental magic. (Which makes a lot of sense if you think about it) Im WAY OPEN to suggestions for whatever the FUCK to do with Martin cuz I honestly have no clue. 😭🤙

Anyways, I hope this cleared things up! Most of these are just me wanting Finn to interact with Minerva more since we got so little of them, but nevertheless I’ll expand beyond that thirst since people have been enjoying them more than I expected lmao.

jkdfgdjfkg yeah im gonna focus on the fionna + cake aspects since thats what i posted but if you wanna know about someone else send a followup!! i have the strongest ideas for marceline and more scattered thoughts on everyone else but!! i turn this around in my head a lot lol.

under the cut bc i am incapable of being short

so. the reason fionna world is Like It Is despite nominally being a human au is bc i decided that in ooo, humans are the only people with daemons! everyone else has Something Else, but that something else isnt actually a daemon (this bit is still fuzzy lol since it would just be more bg in anything i write).

so that means the only characters in adventure time who have/had a daemon are finn (tossing around the name honey for her?? shes unsettled but mostly dogs bc they grew up with dogs lol), marceline (she lost her daemon upon becoming a vampire, gets her back at the end of stakes. do not ask me what she is settled as idk as of now lol), and simon (lost her upon becoming ice king, he does Not get her back. i think its fun if she is a penguin bc that makes ice king surrounding himself w penguins super tragic. he knows something is gone but cannot articulate what.)

also i guess people like susan strong and the humans on the human island but shhhh i dont have super strong ideas for them lol.

ALL THAT TO SAY. since fionnaworld was created by prismo (gonna be real idk what his deal is but he is obviously His Own Thing and as a deity type deal he probably is granted w 'can see dust' powers and thus has no idea what daemons are all about) and lives in ice kings/later simons head (one who doesnt know about daemons and one who is mourning the permanent loss of his own) when fionna and cake were "created" finn jake and finn's daemon were mashed into two characters, who are! human and daemon.

everyone else either never had a daemon in normal ooo (ex. pb) or didnt have them at the time fionnaworld was created and thus they werent carried over (ex. marceline.) of everyone tho probably marshall WOULD know the most, this is why he has a line in my fic where he's like, do you know what i'd do for a weird cat? as a sort of hint that he SHOULD have a daemon, but. alas.

uhhh. where am i going with this.

OH RIGHT so yeah basically when fionnaworld became de-magicked it took with it a lot of people's points of connection--everyone ends up way more isolated than they were. since simon is mourning his own daemon that translates to daemons just Not Existing, and so fionna and cake are very much isolated from each other. they dont have the words for their relationship. all fionna knows is she needs cake with her, and vice versa.

cake IS still a daemon, but without that framework shes stuck in the 'normal cat' role even though she does a lot of noncatlike things, n her and fionna are very very good still at sorta knowing what the other is thinking and reacting accordingly. the people closest to fionna (so, really just marshall and gary lol) have SOME idea of what is up but if asked its more leftover instinct than like, the ability to actually explain any of this. fionna and cake try to interact w the world as a human-daemon pair but that doesnt work when the world has no fucking idea what that is.

uh. that. probably answers some question!! i think the plot of fionna and cake itself is MOSTLY the same...really fionna and cake just find out there is a word for who they are to each other n get that relationship reestablished which isnt a far cry from canon. i really like the stuff they do with betty/simon so i wouldnt want to change that, though i imagine there is a bit of simon mourning his lost daemon too--idk i feel like you could tie those feelings in if you were to write a full adaptation but i!! dont think enough changes to do that so i wont be lol.

i mostly just wanted to do episode one bc again. daemon in a world that doesnt know wtf a daemon is. truly the funniest and most tragic thing in the world.

TELL ME ABOUT ICE KING I WANT TO KNOW NOW

disclaimer i am not well versed in adventure time but i am vaguely aware of ice king as a character

um um he has symptoms of dementia and schizophrenia possibly bpd during early seasons adventure time he was justa a silly villian but then they were like wait we need to make a plot so he can sing marcelines song and they created simon which meant the ice king got a lot more depth as a character

because now its not just hes like that its the ice crown corrupted him but he still has a few traits of simon but he is also his own person and he has an arc where he gets better and commits less crimes and he deserves to be treated like his own person because he only kidnapped princess bc of a subconscious longing for betty, his fiancée when he was simon

but when marcie started talking to him and finn became friends with him the ice king was pretty well adjusted and thats so beautiful and so sad because all it took for him to turn from a "villian" to a regular character with postive and negative traits was some friends

and he has this penguin called gunther and he wasnt always the greatest father/friend/owner to him but when gunther got his one true wish he chose to be the ice king because of the love and care the ice king has shown for him which is so heartwarming

becuase the reason the crown even corrupted simon was because the guy made it so that the person who wore it would get one wish but it got to his "servant"/apprentice who he was abusive too which is why the ice king is so violent before he becomes a well adjusted individual and its like the cycle repeated but better and with love <3

um i dont expect you to read all this but im going to go back and add paragraph breaks so its mostly readable

Im not quite sure! I think youre one of the only people that interpreted this as being During the show and not Before the mushroom war.

Unfortunately i think my answer will be a little boring lol,,, bc we call this an AU, but everyone is actlly an Alter in DID Systems so we’re actually basing a lot of this on real life ^_^ you can also think of it as everyone being “Post-Show(s) timeline” !

but because this is a very fun question im gonna indulge!

So for context, Chara is adopted and went thru all their timelines :^) and Betty is&was Golb

Anyway, Chara and Finn haven’t actually met yet, but I think if they did now they would just be very chill w/ each other! and if they could, they would play with knives and swords together :^) Finn would probably be leading a lot of the conversation while Chara is mostly listening or answering questions like sharing abt their life and (looks at squiggles on hand) being previously dead,, Finn wld probably say something crazy and Chara would be laughing because its insane ^_^ But they would probably be good friends in the end!

If Finn was Younger and Very Canon, he and Chara would have gotten into some sort of Argument bc of misunderstandings and the whole monster fighting thing >_> but Finn n Chara would make up im sure :^0

If this was Adult Finn (which he is not rn afaik) IDK how this wld go. Would probably be a little uncomfy for Chara depending on how Adult Finn reacts. Finn could take Chara to go fighting as a coping mechanism and then everything goes downhill u_u

For Chara and Marceline, I think theyd both just talk a lot about older memories :^) maybe talking abt being undead, n Chara updating Marceline on the Internet n Marceline is like “so what are you kids up to nowadays” IWGAIBS while also facepalming internally bc shes reminding herself of Simon u_u

my theory for what episodes 7-8 will be:

ps: summary in bold near end

ok so a lot of this theory comes from speculation from the trailer, so as we see in multiple sequences there are vampires in a post-mushroom bomb world (which i am assuming is just a universe where it hasn't caught up to the time that the og is in and has replaced the zombies with vampires, more on that later) as we see the trio defending themselves against a group of multiple vampires in the trailer. later in the trailer we see more scenes of the post-mushroom bomb world, therefore i can guarantee that the next episode or two will take place in that world.

continuing on to WHAT will happen, this is a stretch. as there's only 4 episodes left, and i'm assuming the trailer doesn't have much content from the last one or two (setting aside the sequence with betty which took place pre-mushroom bomb, more on that later) i can say that this is a world that we haven't seen before (similar to the Ice Kingdom world, as we saw the farmworld one in episodes before,) but is very close to the og but back to very early post-mushroom bomb.

one thing we need to figure out about this world is that what makes it different? well, in the trailer we see two scenes (distanced from each other, ableit possibly related,) where BMO is lifting off a mask they have on which resembles an owl (which implies BMO is already away from Mo and has a role doing something, or at least i assume so because of the owl (OWL owls)trio we see in the trailer,) and marceline in a sick-ass outfit as a teenager. i would mention the scene with betty and simon in the trailer, as he could theoretically be younger in this universe and be about 47 as we hear about in the original show, but i take this as a memory sequence as marceline is still a child by the time he scares off betty.

so now to pull this altogether with what we know: BMO and marceline are going to be apart of the next 2 episodes, vampires have taken over the city, and that universe's simon is (supposedly) nowhere to be found.

before i summarize, something i haven't mentioned much which i think will be important is the owls in the trailer. now, they technically aren't owls but they are very owl-like with their wing patterns and such, so i assume these correlate as it's very odd for BMO to be wearing a mask like that with no purpose. they are weird human-esque owl-like creatures we can see in the first 20 seconds or so of the trailer, which can be taken as just normal monsters but that would be lame. i like to think that BMO has something to do with these weird creatures, either as a ruler or a follower or they just think of BMO as another one of them. of course, i don't have much evidence to back up my claim, as i literally only have like 12 seconds of footage of the two to go off of, but this is just an assumption because of the correlation of bird-related things between the two.

also another thing that i should talk about is a scene in the trailer with marceline being attacked by someone who is an alternate of forest princess with an arrow made of garlic. personally, i think that this just means that marceline plays a big role in this universe, positive or negative. now, a

summary: the world is taken over by vampires instead of those weird zombies (which possibly started the apocalypse instead of the mushroom bomb, but idk,) and marceline is leading them. now there are vampire hunters who are hunting marceline down as (i assume that) she is letting creatures out from the nightosphere to also terrorize the rest of the human population (which is a reference to the scary-ass owl humans)

some things to note (ps: like a lot of this is just speculation so im practically bullshitting all of this):

1 ) i think that in this universe that simon didn't care for marceline when she was sent off by her mom to have someone else take care of her after she died. the reason i think so is because she seems to lead the vampires and such to get rid of the humans, which is kinda weird since in the canon universe she actually protected a human village from vampires, so there are two ways i think this could have gone:

1: simon never took care of marceline and she had to take care of herself, but as i said earlier the city was overrun by other vampires and most likely just left her alone to terrorize actual humans, and when she later learns more about her roots as the daughter of pretty much satan himself she has no personal connection to humans and leads the vampires

2: when her mother dies, she instead gets taken in by her dad, which is unlikely because he is a dickhead, but who knows cuz alternate universe. not much else happens aside from the fact that she now leads an army of vampires to reign hell upon the rest of the human race but u should already know that.

2 ) that similar to (most) other universes, this universe already has an established set of characters meant as alternate versions of the original, as seen with forest princess. this implies there is a colony or so of humans somewhere (obviously there is, though) in which marceline is in direct combat with. not much else to say about this.

3 ) the possibility that simon was never fully transformed by the crown. honestly this is less of a theory and more of a hope, but this still has some evidence i can use. one is that we have a scene in the trailer for all other simons even if they aren't technically simon, (snowman and winter king,) so with no scene i hopefully assume that the crown is still locked in the safe like seen in the tapes he left behind. maybe his ass was sniped by some asshole vampire idk

despite me not posting abt LL a lot anymore i still rotate the characters a in my brain Very much. anyway thinking abt candyman’s amnesia and loss of identity and how it would affect dice and associating them with simon/ice king and marceline adventure time. ive def rambled abt this on twt before but im not sure if ive done it here so Here i go . a lot of this goes deep into headcanon territory this whole post is just me wanting to get my thoughts out

ive always imagined candyman have a sort of found-father kind of relationship to dice, especially since candy’s a whole 10 years older than dice and dice probably was young as hell when candy first went missing. and just, imagining this person that you’ve been so close to and has cared for you for 90% of what you can remember of your life, and that person just vanishes off the earth one day without a trace. it probably takes years, but you find him again, and he’s this complete husk of who he was before and he doesn’t even remember you despite caring for you for so long. its such a haunting concept and also SO fucking good. also interesting+even more horrifying to imagine that candy’s amnesia works the same as simon/ice king’s. candyman has No moments where he sees something that snaps him back to who he used to be, he’s just completely gone now. dice would try endlessly to give him some kind of reminder of his past but none of it rings a bell, and candyman just gets this deep feeling of guilt as he realizes that these people who he just considered as Nice Friends, they’re something so much more but he just can’t remember. he almost feels like he’s abandoned them, even though everything that’s happened was completely out of his control. It’s 1 in the morning and im just saying words as they appear in my brain i hope this makes sense but team reptile has so much potential with these characters and just decided to Ditch Them

Could u go more in depth about what u did/didn't like about the spinoff? Just curious as someone who enjoyed most of it but was a lil disappointed with the last few episodes

sure! i didnt like Hate it or anything there were things i did enjoy, i watched all the episodes, it was more that it just really didnt do it for me in a way thats kind of difficult to like. pin. i should state too that i was not going to watch it already bcuz i wasnt interested in the genderbend fanfiction characters being the like title piece and everything, but i gave the first two eps a shot and thought 'okay, i get it, this show is about simon and his complicated feelings about Everything that happened and who he used to be and who these characters represent to him about who he used to be' and then it just didnt really like, do more with that in a way that i expected or wouldve enjoyed, exactly? i like the idea of multiverse hopping and a bunch of different au versions of characters in a story, that stuff is obviously really popular right now and when its done well its done WELL. i liked how finn was characterized in episode 2. it was like, an entertaining watch, it just didnt really do much for Me, and i knew that going in. its really hard to explain like my negative feelings on something that are negative bcuz it just Wasnt For Me ykwim. and there r plenty of parts of adventure time that didnt really do it for me either bcuz it had so many writers

i read an interview w the director and writers and stuff and they mentioned that they made the series recognizing that the original fans were adult now and it was partly made for us and like having a more mature theme and everything, but i didnt rly feel thatit did that for me personally (which again is Fine), and i dont think it successfully captured like, 'more mature adventure time', i guess maybe in the sense that they can swear now? but adventure time itself is thoughtful and often more mature than it was given credit for at the time. its a kids show but a lot of the later stuff was made to just tell stories and explore ideas, whether kids like 'understood' it or not, they trusted their audience, stuff wasnt really like dumbed down. they mentioned trying not to step on the toes of the original too much too and i like did get the sense that they respected and loved the source material (some of the ppl working on it including the director were from the old team) but while the spinoff was clearly successful and ppl liked it a lot (ive already seen a lot of ppl talking abt how meaningful it was to them, and thats great, im glad it resonated for people) its like, read of the characters and world and the direction they wanted to take just wasnt really the kind of vibe i come to adventure time for, i guess? like i said it just didnt rly do it for Me personally in a way thats hard to articulate

i dont rly want to say anything like too mean abt it but ppl Know about me that i dont like Fandom Aware Jokes in media i dont think theyre charming and the spinoff leaning into that kinda stuff wasnt for me, and i get why bcuz its literally fucking named after the in universe genderbent fanfiction versions of finn and jake, but thats also something i never liked about adventure time and wouldve been happy if it hadnt made a reappearance i just thought it was going to be used to Say Something so i was curious to see where it went. so like from the start it isnt exactly for me ykwim. i dont think sailor moon reference sexyman ice king or jokes about alt universe versions of characters kissing themselves is funny. coffee shop Boy pb & marceline b plot is not interesting to me (i do like marshall's human design). i feel like not a lot of stuff Happened to me

and let me preface this next part by saying that i never got too invested in simon and bettys thing in adventure time so maybe some of this stuff WAS canon and i just completely missed it but i feel like the track they took w them and their relationship was like.. they were trying to say something but it wasnt exactly the direction i wouldve taken, which isnt a 'criticism' as much as its just, a thought , for me. i thought betty losing her shit and sacrificing herself for simon at the end of adv time proper was interesting bcuz to me betty wasnt like a completely selfless character, to me she wasnt MEANT to come off that way, she was interesting in part bcuz she did all that for simon but simon had been gone for a thousand years, she gave herself up to turn him back but didnt think abt whether he wouldve wanted that. she brought him back, but without her. its obviously tragic and i do get that like betty moving on now that simons like Safe at the end of fionna and cake makes sense but i was.. curious to see the whole metaphor w the choose ur own adventure book where the metaphor or whatever was that betty had given everything up for simon and simon had never took her own feelings into consideration or gave things up for HER and stuff, and all that about like, obsession, and uneven ground, and simon shouldve known better... and the show ending with simon saying wow damn yeah betty sacrificed herself for me and i never put her over me so i should live a good life. like okay but i thought betty sacrificing herself for him wasnt meant to come off as completely selfless bcuz it wasnt exactly? i dont think it was framed that way but again i COULD be wrong. im not gonna say that this stuff is not in character cuz again i dont Remember if this was canon to the mainline series. maybe betty was always a fan of his work and their relationship did start out uneven like that and i just forgot, i am not gonna say its Wrong. its not like 'is betty right' its that theres dif ways u can read like main adventure time series decisions and the grayness of it was interesting

and i dont say that to say like oh the focus shouldve been on Simons Feelings and not this woman who became a god for him its just like, i didnt really expect that direction of writing their past relationship, or the direction in general, and idk how to feel about it. maybe ill change my mind. maybe it all makes sense and i just didnt pay enough attention to betty and simons relationships and arcs before. what i did know coming out of the show is that i felt a little let down but i also felt like i shouldnt have expected much from something that just based off the series name was already something i expected to not vibe with THAT much

dream last nite was ummm. idek dude im not entirely sure what happened. but ruby was there (L) and it turned into adventure time halfway through or something. but i was hanging out with ruby and a few other ppl including my mom for some reason. we were standing on a balcony and i could like.. control its place in physical space w my mind. idk. we were talking about rose lalonde lol and i think it was like in reference to a dream id just had but i dont remember it all that well now. anyway im trying to get the balcony attached back to where it was and failing a little bit but i eventually get it. then we go inside and rubys still talking to me like ohh i love rose or something idrk

then its like hard cut to adventure time dream. pb is facing off against?? idk?? i think marceline. and marcys like IT WAS NEVER THAT SIMPLE U THINK ITS ALL OK WELL ITS NOT and it was like the first dream playing out but different this time. altho i still do not remember the first dream lmao. but im watching pb and occasionally am in her perspective while shes blocking attacks and stuff. idek man. then i wake up

Do you have any timkon headcanons? Also how do you imagine them first getting together?

omg okay let's seeeee you've just unleashed something in me and i might just end up rambling about why i like em in general so here we go

-i really like clingy timkon looool like esp as they got closer and older they just got more and more touchy and affectionate. and after conner came back after dying in infinite crisis they got even more unbearable T-T hugs would last longer, touches would linger, etc etc. anything to make sure the other is still there. also kon is just...very dogboy coded to me so everytime tim leaves the team and kon wants him to come back (like when tim left YJ, when he quit robin, when he was alienating himself in RR), i can just imagine kon wagging an imaginary tail when tim does come back.

-kon subconsciously starts to float off the ground when he follows tim around...and spreads his ttk around when he's pressed up against him >_> idk i need to think of more ttk hcs

-this isn't really a headcanon but when tim took off his mask for the first time in YJ #20 (?) and kon and cassie and greta all looked shocked, cassie said kon bet that tim had zits or smth and that's why he never took it off. then when tim took off the cowl in adventure comics # 3, kon was immediately like "You seriously need a haircut." Anyways what im trying to say is that Kon definitely likes tim's face but it gives off very "Your face is pretty" "What?" "I said your face is SHITTY" vibes. And i think it's funny

-Kon is the reason Tim started to like Wendy the Werewolf stalker...they probably do marathons with the whole squad but i like to imagine them watching it together and being fanboys <3 I think it was in a YJ issue, but Tim did call the show stupid and they argued about it, but then in a superboy issue (Hypertime mission arc) Tim taped the show for him so he wouldn't miss it bc Tim knew it was his favorite show T-T so I like to think kon convinces tim to like it and now Tim has a Wendy shirt that reminds him of kon (like Princess Bubblegum and Marceline with the whole tshirt thing...)

-there's this one issue where kon flies to gotham to bother tim and tim is like "can you PLEASE just wait three more hours until im done" anyways the thought of kon just randomly flying to gotham whenever he wants to pester tim about his day is cute to me. need him to do that more <3

-also funny as hell to me that when they first met kon was always like "you're not the boss of me >:(" and now kon will do anything he says. also there's this one panel where kon is like "you ever notice your voice drops an octave when you get all commander like" and it lives in my head rent free. he probably clowns tim for it all the time but also likes it. Also, being rebellious and striving to be his own boss is a very core part of kon's character to me, but i like thinking about how he probably has grown to respect tim so much he'd trust his life in tim’s hands.

Okay that's all i got for now >_> I have many thoughts about them all the time though

-As for how I think they'd get together? Probably my ideal scenario is at the end of the pre-new52/New Earth timeline, when Tim came back to the teen titans and Conner was figuring things out and they were there to reassure each other and idk watching the sunrise and then smooching and confessing would be cute T-T I think kon would probably initiate it but that's just me. Actually i have a whole comic/fic in my head about it Lol...but idk i might actually do something with it so i'll save that for laterrrr
