Heartbreaking: Gamers give Ralsei the "Little German Boy voice" in Chapter 1, and have to commit to the bit for the rest of the series.
#deltarune#ralsei#susie#And by gamers and mean me and my friends who have been playing through deltarune together.#Let it be known it was not *me* who made this character choice! I'm voicing other characters!#We've just started chapter 3 so please no spoilers.#However...Yeah I had a hunch that things were going to get serious with Ralsei this chapter and Toby starting swinging from page 1.#Having to hear that dialogue spoken in a Whimsical German Boy voice only undercut it slightly.#Ralsei...oh Ralsei what to even say about you...#Do I trust Ralsei? Not entirely. In the way he is not being honest about many things.#He doen't function by the same rules as the other darkeners...Nor does he appear to be a lightner. He's...something else?#We also do not know what his real world conterpart is! Which is too purposefully concealed to be not examined!#My theory is that Ralsei has shaped himself to be purposefully in the image and personality that makes Kris supposedly 'happiest'.#He is the dungeon master who is setting up the adventure for them to go on! The world exists so long as they return! He exists for them!#I also don't think he is the dark prince from the legend...but merely posing as him so he would have a 'purpose' in the group.#I do not jive with the way he keeps trying to cozy up to us/kris. Or how he seems to follow a script to keep us on track for.#I *do* jive with his friendship with Susie though...oh my god do I love their dynamic.#Anyways! My eye is on him. I want him to go to therapy and also stay on our side. For Susie's sake. Please...that is her FRIEND.

Had a bit of a "community heartbreak" last week, yet another one in a life-long series (though it'd been a while), so I malfunctioned for some days, took exactly one painkiller, and then finally tried to make sense of stuff that hurt me over the years and that I kept being clueless to for a ridiculous amount of time, so that maybe, hopefully, it could save some people in cases similar to mine some confusion and hurt

Late night wishful thinking but like
I think planting funky things around retention ponds should be more normalized!!
Like okay I get it retention ponds are meant to hold the runoff water from parking lots and drive throughs and the like so they aren’t exactly the cleanest water around. But like!!! Maybe this is different in other areas, but the only plants I ever see grow around retention ponds are cattails!! Which, like, are fine and great and dandy lets go cattails, but like
Where’s the whimsy?? Where are the flowers?? If I’ve got to see retention ponds whenever I go to a store or drive down the highway or pick up food for my mom, at least bring in some flowers!!
And it’ll benefit so much! A wider variety of plants can make it a more welcoming home to wildlife! Maybe the plants will filter some of the runoff stuff and the water can then be nicer for even more wildlife! Maybe the flowers can be a nice food source for butterflies and bees on their journeys and day trips!! And humans like seeing things be pretty!
Maybe its easier said than done! Maybe most places already do this and its just my city or state that doesn’t really I’d be willing to believe that! But lets get some color in these goddamn retention ponds!!
Swamp milkweed! Aquatic milkweed! Pickerelweed! Water lilies! Irises! Cardinalflower! Fuck it, put some goddamn duckweed in there!! Get some color in those things or so help me!!

A thing that always makes me laugh in kotlc is when they capture or talk to a neverseen member to try and get answers and the member is always like “oh I actually wasn’t involved in that because gisela never tells me anything” or “I wasn’t really there for that because i was somewhere else” like oh okay suddenly no one has to do anything at all with these crimes like 😭😭😭 they always capture the members who did the most tame thing or who don’t know shit.

As a result, creative approaches using synthetic chemistry are required to control every facet of macromolecular structure and to enable functional groups to be introduced at defined locations.

Spy X Family AU
So! Jack Fenton is a Super Spy/Scientist who is working on a mission to investigate Amity Park. The Government has put an Information Blackout on the entire Town, so he has been assigned to infiltrate the town. When he discovers that the town is contaminated with Ectoplasm, he asks to stay there to study the Stuff.
Maddie Fenton is an Assasin who used to work for the League of Assasins, right under Talia, before she deserted the League and ran away. She ran to Amity Park because of how secluded it was, and began working as a Mercenary Assasin to make a living. She is also a Scientist who discovered Ectoplasm and wanted to study it because it reminded her of Lazarus.
They meet while studying Ectoplasm and use eachother to cement their Cover Stories (and get a new study partner).
Jazz in the child Jack adopted from a nearby Orphanage so he could blend in with a "Normal Father" Facade. She is a Liminal with Telepathic Abilities who knows everything about the other two, but keeps it a secret because she wants to psochoanalyze them. Her real parents are unknown, but that's what's fun about making your own AU, you can mess around with it.
Danny is the dog.
Just kidding, Danny is actually a Hybrid child between a Human and a Ghost who was left on Jack and Maddies doorstep as a Kid. They understood what he was immediately and took him in so he wouldn't be taken and experimented on by the GIW, pretending that he was a normal kid (and forgetting to tell him that he is a Ghost to begin with)
He doesn't even know he is a Hybrid for a while, until an accident in the Lab when he is 5 results in discovering his Ghost Form but thinking he just straight up died and brought himself back. Oh and he can see the Future sometimes, just to throw that in there.
I wonder who the Ghostly Father of this Hybrid child who can see into the future and is very powerful? Surely not the Ghost who deals with time and is also very powerful? Sure, absolutely impossible...
Anyways, thoughts on the AU?

It's difficult for me to understand how much Fitz gets thrown under the bus--especially in Royal Assassin--while the Fool is just presumed wiser and more benevolent. The Fool may have a crush on Fitz by then, but he loves King Shrewd wayyyy more and it shows. The Fool is like, why ever don't you personally see to it that Shrewd is taken care of and wait on his many needs even though you've raised this issue with Chade multiple times and you have extremely little power over the situation? As if King Shrewd is a benevolent figure in Fitz' life. Considering that Shrewd probably gave Fitz away to Regal so that Fitz could *die,* and considering that Shrewd very nearly had Fitz killed as a young child, and considering that Shrewd is singlehandedly responsible for taking every kind of agency away from Fitz (making him become an assassin, making him court Celerity, dictating his many assignments) I think Fitz loves Shrewd a damned lot. And yet the Fool has the gall to repeatedly guilt trip Fitz about King Shrewd, EVEN IN THE VERY CONVSERATION where Shrewd pointedly reminds Fitz that if he was "dismissed," he might have made sure Fitz never grew up at all. wtf man. The Fool looks up at Fitz with tears brimming his eyes in this look of huge betrayal because Fitz has been avoiding Shrewd, who has decided that Fitz--who does not get any of the deference of being royal--has to wed Celerity (a fourteen year old girl he had to politely interact with on an assassination mission for Shrewd). The Fool is hardly there for Fitz during hard times (like? Almost never besides the time Galen tries to kill him, and then just to lead Burrish there?) and ALSO the Fool basically told Fitz to consummate his relationship with Molly in his song (something like "you hold back your passions when you should be consummating them instead?), and then his big personal reveal is "hey! The whole Fate of the World rests on your shoulders and I'm going to use you to fix everything!" which actually *is* a wild thing to say in fact. Actually. And would terrify anyone. Honestly I just don't read the Fool as *actually caring* about Fitz very deeply on an emotional level during first era Buckkeep. Like he cares as the prophet, and he cares as a friend-ish, and he's probably developed some Feelings, but he doesn't really look out for Fitz beyond a tactical capacity. (Fitz, I think, looks out for the Fool rather more in that respect, and takes great care with what the Fool might be feeling and why. And he actually apologizes a few times). I guess half of what I'm feeling is that Fitz cares so much about people--even those he shouldn't care about (cough cough Shrewd, Chade after taking Nettle), and so many of his decisions come from trying to do the right thing while facing impossible choices. And he gives up so much in the way of personal justice (ie any reparations or safety or revenge concerning Regal). I just love Fitz. I really love Fitz. I think his choices make sense, given the experiences he's had and the information he's given and the options before him. And when the Fool loves Fitz, I love him too, but when the Fool sides with Fitz' oppressors and abusers (Shrewd, Chade in AQ) it hurts all the more because the Fool should be in Fitz's corner. When, at least in the first trilogy, the Fool just isn't. His first loyalty is always to something else (the Farseer throne and line, dragons etc) and in the first trilogy especially, he hasn't learned to try to balance that first loyalty with Fitz' needs and lived experiences. In fact in the first trilogy (or at least up through RA), he doesn't even seem aware that such a thing should matter much in the first place.

Being a ghost scientist is hardly a highly acclaimed occupation. Even among those who actually know that ghosts are real, the scientists are widely regarded as whack-jobs and quacks. Idiots at best, scammers at worst.
Well that was all about to change.
While working for the Ghost Investigation Ward, she had made a world-shaking discovery.
And like any great scientist, she immediately set about ensuring it was hers alone. She wouldn’t let anyone take this away from her, and certainly not the government. She deleted all the hints of it from the organization’s databases, and quietly tendered her resignation as soon as the trail seemed clear.
For this, her name would be remembered forever.
For she had discovered the secret to eternal life.
Not just the ghastly echo of consciousness imprinted into ghosts, but real, true, life. Bodies, brought back from the most heinous injuries or even from death itself.
And it was all thanks to those disgusting ectoplasmic pseudo-creatures.
Because that was the solution. Ectoplasm. The potent, highly pure stuff, ideally sourced directly from the bodies of powerful ghosts. Without the impurities, the corruptive effects of ecto-contamination could be mostly staved off.
Now, of course, collecting those ghosts to harvest would be a challenge—especially without the government facilities she used to have access to.
But she knows what the rich are like. They’ll pay anything for an opportunity like this. Once she gets things started, she’ll have all the resources she could ever need.
And she already stole enough doses to prove their effectiveness to those first backers.

Table 20.12 shows approximate chemical shifts in ¹³C-NMR spectroscopy. (...) The sp² hybridised carbons of alkenes come into resonance in ¹³C-NMR spectroscopy in the range δ 100 - 150 (table 20.12), which is considerably downfield from resonances of sp³ hybridised carbons.
