The SydMarcus scene gave me so much secondhand embarrassment I stopped watching for a month lol. Idk if it’s writing or acting but I never vibed with Marcus and felt their connection was forced so the asking out was just bleh. As was his reaction after like bro come on when did she ever give signs that she wa so to this lmao. So predictable and childish and put me off his character for good can’t lie. I’m not actually a shipper of anyone on the show but the syd-carmy connection is fascinating to me because of their mutual food obsession. He needs to tighten up for sure though.

I think Marcus is cute, and Syd was really sweet with him because she was excited to see him so inspired. I guess I can see why he thought she might want to go out, but the aftermath was painful. Her avoidance and his frustration/embarrassment made me cringe.

I didn’t mind the relationship between Marcus and Syd, because I liked that they both developed a love of the craft and decided to pursue a career in it out of love for it. Because we see Syd and Marcus spending a LOT of their free time constantly looking to improve their craft, doing research, dedicating time to testing recipes and seeing what works.

Carmy doesn’t do that. I don’t think Carmy has a food obsession like Syd and Marcus, at all. He even said he decided to go to culinary school because he was mad that Mikey wouldn’t let him work at The Beef. I think Carmy is more passionate about art than cooking tbh. I hope they go deeper into that in S3.

Regardless if it's right wing men or radfems threatening Dylan, women as a whole do not owe any man sympathy, much less a raging misogynist like him. He would not give any women the same kindness, I guarantee it.

no one owes anyone any sympathy and a grown man getting death threats is not the end of the world, nor is women not caring about it the end of the world. i simply disagree w the notion that the only ppl who dislike dylan are radfems and women when from what ive seen right wingers hate dylan seemingly even more (& often will get violent about it) that was my only comment there.
