"Toru, what are you doing there?" You asked as you felt your husband's head resting on your thighs and his forehead pressed against the bottom of your protruding belly.

You were lying on your back on the bed. You were letting your spine rest after a day of walking around with that little one in you.

Just like any baby in their mother's womb, your baby is calm if you do something. Then your body movements soothe the child inside you.

But when you want to rest, you feel it twist.

That's why you love the thought of having a husband for whom cuddling is very much needed in life because he likes touch.

More than once you have felt his fingers lightly squeeze your pregnant belly at night, rubbing your skin. Telling your child that everything is fine.

Then your child is calm, because it works like telekinesis, even if it's not there. Because the baby gives you rest for a while.

Instead of spinning around and making you constantly wander to the toilet.

You have decided to wait with the gender of your baby until birth.

As Satoru laughed when asked what his baby would be like, he replied that he didn't give spoilers.

However, it was getting closer and closer to the arrival of the 9th month.

You were already in the seventh.

You wish you already had a name for your child so that when he or she is born you will know how to speak.

You don't want to linger on the name for so long.

Something rarer, but not such that everyone will wonder what that name is.

You just wanted your child, just like her/his daddy, to be special and one of a kind.

"Do you have any idea?" he asked, burying his nose into your skin. Making you laugh because of the tickling feeling.

"Why don't we pick something from the name lists?"

"How about Mochi?"

You looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"Mochi?" you repeated.

"I love mochi! I love my baby even more! Boy Mochiro and girl Mochiko!"

You giggled as you heard his enthusiasm.

Mochiro and Mochiko? That sounds like normal names. But the fact that these names were based on one of the child's father's favorite sweets disqualifies these names.

If people knew that these names were created from the name "mochi", most would probably consider it abnormal.

But your husband just really likes sweets!

You were curious to see what else he would come up with.

That's why you've been waiting for more of his ideas.

"kikufuku?" He asked, resting the back of his head against your thighs as he stared at the ceiling.

"Baby's name?"

You weren't sure if he just got a kikufuku craving right now or if he was talking about baby names.

"You know... A name that starts with Kiku I Fuku. Together it's Kikufuku! Or Dango! No... Dango no. It sounds bad. Gojo Dango. Maybe Naruto? You know... Like those!"

"Naruto is an anime character." You laughed.

"I'll be a big fan of this anime if I name my child that... I don't want to... Well, how about... Pocky?"

He moved his head slightly to make room for your stomach.

Only now did you notice that he was lying on the bed with his legs sticking out of the mattress and his head was using your thighs as a pillow.

He smiled slightly and looked at you as you placed your hand on his forehead, stroking his soft hair with your fingers.

He stared at you with those beautiful eyes.

"Maybe Ao and Aka?"

"You want to call the children your Jujutsu techniques?"

"Better Ao and Aka than Murassaki. Hehe."

You slapped him lightly on the forehead for his laugh.

He closed his eyes with a toothy grin and reached his hand for yours, touching your skin as your fingers tangled in his hair.

"Children? So you want more than one?"

He gave you that trademark smile that would be very irritating if you didn't love him.

Oh yes... If you want to be pregnant more times in your life... He'll do it for you. And he'll love to look at you and keep coming up with a name for your next baby.

Existing fandom saw a line that said ママ友 and interpreted the person in the panel as [main character's] mom and that's totally not right. I feel like ’mom friend’ means something different anyway, but I think in the end it's the best choice.

Izuku fidgeted as he hid behind the sofa. He’d been crouched there for ten minutes, and his calves were aching, but that’s not why he twitched relentlessly. No, his body simply couldn’t process the sheer amount of happiness and excitement he was feeling right now. His emerald curls and eyes peeked above the back of the sofa, gleaming gaze trained on the front door, where little Eri was due to walk in any moment. 

I can’t believe we’re gonna celebrate Eri’s first new year!

When the girl had informed them at their dorm Christmas party that she never recalled celebrating the new year with her family, Class 1-A had scrambled to plan a party so that the little girl could experience the holiday in all its glory. They’d prepared oodles of traditional food and snacks, organized party games, and each pitched in to grant Eri over two thousand yen in New Year’s money in pretty red-and-gold envelopes Momo had procured. 

Thus, there they were, hiding in various spots across the common room armed with party poppers and rolls of streamers. As the lock clicked, they sucked in a collective breath in anticipation. As soon as Eri’s blood-red eyes and silver hair toddled across the threshold, they sprang from their hiding places, poppers booming to spill confetti in the air and streamers arcing over the furniture. 

“ Happy New Year! ” 

Eri jumped back into Mr. Aizawa’s legs with a startled squeak. It took her a moment to register what had happened, and a confused smile slowly bloomed on her small, round face. 

“Is… Is this for me?” 

“It sure is!” Izuku confirmed as he walked around the couch. He leaned down in front of her with his hands on his knees. “We all got together so we could celebrate the new year with you, Eri. We have tons of fun stuff planned for you. Would you like to participate?” Izuku thought to ask because Eri still dealt with social anxiety issues, though attending the school festival had loosened her up considerably. Her eyes were wide as she swept her gaze across the smiling faces (and Katsuki’s attempts to look friendly). 

“Yeah… I want to have a New Year’s party, Deku!” she nodded brightly. Izuku’s grin widened, and he stood up to offer her his hand. She wrapped her tiny hand around his first two fingers, and he led her over to the coffee table, where Ochako was sitting on a cushion. 

“Would you like some mochi, Eri?” Momo offered, seated on another cushion. Eri looked at the provided squishy rice cakes curiously before tentatively poking one. She released a delighted gasp as it yielded to her light touch and left her finger coated in sugar. She sucked on it thoughtfully, smiling at the sweet taste, before picking one up and biting into it. 

“It’s delicious!” she squealed. Izuku plucked up a piece of mochi and passed beside her to sit on the sofa, watching warmly as she enjoyed the treat. When Eri noticed the scraps of paper situated on the coffee table, she cocked her head to the side curiously. “What’s this?” 

“It’s a game called fukuwarai . Would you like to play, Eri?” Ochako said. Eri finished off her mochi as she nodded, sitting down on the cushion between Momo and Ochako on her knees to reach the table. Ochako explained the game to the little girl, who concentrated very hard on the pieces of paper as the elder girl told her she had to arrange them into a face while blindfolded. 

A bright smile adorned Izuku’s face as he sat tucked against the corner of the couch, nibbling contentedly on his mochi while Ochako slipped a blindfold over her big, ruby eyes. Izuku snickered as the silver-haired girl looked around blindly, squeaking as the cloth covered the upper half of her face. As she tentatively reached up to lift the bottom up and take a peek, Ochako tutted scoldingly. 

“Eri! You can’t peek,” Ochako reminded. Eri obediently dropped her hand, and the older girl critically inspected the fabric to ensure that it was adequately covering Eri’s eyes. Then, she gently helped Eri scoot herself up to the edge of the table. The little girl’s hands began to fumble over the pieces of paper scattered over the wooden surface. 

“How am I supposed to know where the parts go if I can’t see?” Eri whimpered as she picked up a cut piece of paper in the shape of some lips. Ochako giggled sweetly as she sat back on her heels and used her cell phone to film Eri’s first attempt at playing fukuwarai . While still holding up the red construction paper mouth, Eri used her free hand to carefully feel around for the large oval piece of paper that marked the face. “Why can’t I look?” she despaired, and as she looked to where Ochako was, Izuku could imagine her little eyebrows furrowed in duress. 

“That’s the rules, Eri,” Izuku piped up from the sofa, stuffing the rest of the mochi in his cheek. He slipped down off the cushions and settled himself cross-legged beside her. Eri’s head swiveled to cast her blindfolded gaze upon him, her hand groping at his sweater. He picked up one of the highly-stylized eyes, deformed courtesy of Denki’s craftsmanship, and smiled down at the perturbed child. “That’s the fun of it— making silly faces! It’s not about being right or wrong— it’s about having fun.” 

Her little lips pursed thoughtfully. She then regarded the lip-shaped construction paper again with her blind gaze. Carefully, she prodded at the oval-shaped paper again before carefully setting it down somewhere in the cheek area. Izuku covered his mouth to smother his giggles. 

Piece by piece, Eri assembled the craft. It was so hard not to laugh at the immense look of concentration on the girl’s face even with the blindfold as she fumbled to arrange them sensically, but it still ended up a slightly disoriented collage. When she lifted the blindfold, she pouted at the strange arrangement she had produced. As tears of shame brimmed in the corners of her eyes, Kyoka snatched it up and held it up beside Denki’s face. 

“Hey, doesn’t it kinda look like Denki when he goes all ‘yay’ mode?” she laughed. 

“Is that any way to talk to the guy charging your phone?” Denki griped, but when he saw Eri’s distraught expression, he sighed. He dropped Kyoka’s phone to grab the side table lamp, discharging all his energy to it. As he slumped dumbly into the couch, stupidly grinning and droning, “yayyyyyyy,” Izuku had to admit there was a striking resemblance with Eri’s handiwork. 

Thankfully, Eri burst into giggles. 

“It does kinda look like him, I guess,” she smiled shyly as Kyoka handed the artwork back to him. When Mr. Aizawa sauntered into the room to check on Eri, she hopped up to trot over, eyes wide as she regarded the older man. “Here. I made this,” she said as she offered it to him. “It’s a… A fuku— fukuwa… ” 

“A fukuwarai ,” the adult finished with a small smirk. He inspected the paper with lidded eyes before smiling warmly and handing it back to Eri. “I would say that’s fridge-worthy. Why don’t you go hang it up?” 

Eri squealed in delight and ran off to the kitchen, where she secured the paper to the refrigerator with a magnet. As she ran in, Katsuki came sauntering out, brushing his hands off on his apron and scowling. 

“Oi, losers! The soba’s ready!” He barked loudly. He glanced down when Eri shyly peeked up at him around his legs, blinking her big red eyes. “What, squirt? You want some soba?” When she nodded bashfully, he steered her around by the shoulders and marched her back inside. She waddled out a few moments later, humming contentedly as she spooned the buckwheat noodles into her mouth. She came over to sit on the couch next to Izuku, who had resumed his previous position. Half the class was now involved in a very competitive game of karuta , and Eri occasionally giggled as Tenya got too excited and flung the cards around in his haste. 

“Are you having fun?” Izuku asked Eri later after she had discarded the empty noodle bowl onto the coffee table. He was shocked to see her reclined against the couch cushions, eyes lidded and smiling in sleepy contentment. 

“Mhmm,” she mumbled drowsily. “‘S the best new year ever.” As soon as the words had left her mouth, her eyes closed entirely, and her head slumped over into Izuku’s shoulder. Smiling, he grabbed a throw blanket and wrapped her up in it, then laid her down with her head resting on one of the throw pillows. 

When he got up to get a drink from the kitchen, he paused to admire the fukuwarai hanging on the refrigerator. Eri had signed her name in bright red crayon in the corner. Izuku grinned widely as he appreciated the clumsily strewn-together pieces of construction paper and thought of the sleepy smile Eri was still wearing as she snoozed on the common room couch. 

I’m gonna make next year a bright one for you, Eri— and the next one after that is even better, and even better after that. After all, that’s what heroes do.

Hi @lmaolanguagesamiright​ ,I’m your @langblrsecretsanta​ this year! As your target language is Japanese, and your hobbies include baking and cooking, I’ve decided to translate and make a little glossary of a recipe I’d honestly like to try someday - Ichigo Daifuku!

What is a daifuku? Well, let’s resort to Wikipedia to find out the answer. 

Daifukumochi (大福餅), or Daifuku (大福) (literally "great luck"), is a Japanese confection consisting of a small round mochi (glutinous rice cake) stuffed with sweet filling, most commonly anko, sweetened red bean paste made from azuki beans. 

Daifuku was originally called Habutai mochi (腹太餅) (belly thick rice cake) because of its filling's nature. Later, the name was changed to Daifuku mochi (大腹餅) (big belly rice cake). Since the pronunciations of Fuku (腹) (belly) and Fuku (福) (luck) are the same in Japanese, the name was further changed to Daifuku mochi (大福餅) (great luck rice cake), a bringer of good luck. They were often used for gifts in ceremonial occasions.

(TLDR) So it’s a confectionary said to bring good luck!

材料（ざいりょう / zairyou / ingredients):

白玉粉（しらたまこ / shiratamako/ rice flour）-  230g

上白糖（じょうはくとう / jouhakutou / caster sugar) - 大さじ 4,5 (おおさじ / oosaji / tablespoon)

水（みず / mizu / water)  -  270ml

片栗粉（かたくりこ / katakuriko / potato starch）-  適量（てきりょう / tekiryou / proper quantity)

苺（いちご / ichigo / strawberries)  -  14個（じゅうよんこ / juuyonko / 14 strawberries, small things) 

Instead of strawberries you can also use other fruits or even green tea paste!

漉し餡（こしあん / koshian / strained bean paste/anko）-  300g

作り方（つくりかた / tsukurikata / how to make, instructions)

1. バットに片栗粉を敷いておく。苺は洗いヘタを取り苺の周りにあんこを付けてる。

2. ��ールに白玉粉・ 砂糖を入れ、水を少しずつ加えながら良く混ぜ合わせる。ラップをし600Wの電子レンジで4分30秒間加熱する。

3. 混ぜ合わせ再び電子レンジで1分間加熱する。バットに流し入れ、全体に片栗粉を軽く振るい14等分する。

4. 薄く伸ばしあんこ・苺を包む。

2. Pour the flour and sugar into a bowl and mix while gradually adding water. Wrap and heat it in a microwave (600W) for 4,5 minutes. 

3. Stir the contents of the bowl once again and heat it in the microwave for another minute. Pour the contents of the bowl into the tray and let it be covered lightly in the potato starch, before dividing it into 14 equal parts.  

4. Stretch the mochi (the dough) and cover the strawberry with it.

OC Winter Factoids

It is Christmas day where I live at the moment and New Year’s is fast approaching, so I thought I’d share some ideas for what my OCs do in the winter/holiday season. Some will be Christmas related but some will not. I myself celebrate Christmas but I know that others don’t so I don’t want to make this exclusively Christmas related.

(For example, the Demon Slayer characters in Taishou Era Japan probably know that Christmas exists due to Western influence but at that point in history, I’m not sure how widely spread the celebration of it was.)

Anyways, onto the trivia!

Black Clover -Helia loves riding horseback while it snows. The wind in her hair and the snow whirling around her feels so whimsical to her. Even if it leaves her terribly cold, the joy of warming up by a fire afterward makes it a non-issue. -Selen, before leaving Tillespire, greatly enjoyed snowball fights with the kids in his neighborhood. He’s not good at making the snowballs, but he’s got a good throwing arm. -Lounging by the fireplace is a favorite pastime for the whole Nymvire family, especially together. It’s cozy and relaxing, what more could they want. -Irene enjoys tasting new kinds of tea and coffee blends throughout winter. If she can find something different from what she knows, she’ll give it a go. -While Irene can’t cook to save her life, she likes watching others bake in the winter. The smell of sugar and spices, plus the warmth of the kitchen is nice.

Demon Slayer -Ayami does actually celebrate Christmas as she learned about it from her father. What she does to celebrate is donate half her earnings to shrines and charities. She also makes small trinket to give to whatever children she meets on Christmas day. -Yumiko goes on very long runs during the winter season. She thinks its good training to try running through whatever snowfall happens. -Masatsugu’s family worked with metal and made lots of tools. During winter, axes are the number one thing they make or fix because so many people have to gather firewood. -Norifumi is very susceptible to the cold and if he could, he’d stay under a kotatsu all winter. But in recent days, he seems more accepting of the cold, as if he no longer feels it... -Shizuka believes that wood-based scents are made better in the winter. Her favorite scent to enjoy in winter is maple wood. -For New Year’s, Shizuka’s mother always made zenzai (sweet red bean soup with mochi or shiratama).

My Hero Academia -Daiki’s hometown holds a New Year’s festival where everyone works together to make a big feast for everyone to enjoy. -Ayuto always helps at the charities his father’s fire station holds. And he attends Christmas parties at his mother’s office. -In the winter, Chizuru helps her family make omamori charms and fortunes for New Year’s. -Naoyo’s family goes camping on New Year’s to see the first sunrise from a new place every year. Naoyo hopes to bring Chizuru along for a New Year’s camping trip once they start dating. -Gentsuno and his family make Christmas cards for relatives, usually involving dangling tinsel or ornaments from their horns. They’re making a photo album. -Umeji and Sakurako (his younger sister) have tried to catch Santa 6 times and always fail because they end up falling asleep and the whole family are deep sleepers. -Jun and his mother used to play in the snow, making snowmen and snow angels. Nowadays, they use chemistry to make fake snow for them to play with and mold mini snowmen while in her hospital room. -In Shouma’s family, Christmas day is where everyone gets at least one video game and the rest of the day is seeing who can speedrun theirs the fastest. -The Shikkou family visit sick children in the hospital during the winter and usually donate gifts as well. Kokoro was the one who started doing it; Fukue and her father continue for Kokoro’s sake. -Before leaving their parents, Yuuki and Okami had a holiday tradition of going into the woods after their parents were asleep. Then, they would find as many ripe berries as possible and eat them on the way home. -Terumi and Kyouhei’s families get together to do movie marathons on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Growing up, the two would snuggle while under a kotatsu and end up falling asleep there. -Ryouko is a competitive gift giver. She doesn’t like taking her chances when giving gifts and works hard to get “perfect” gifts for her loved ones. -Haruka has two constants in her life when it comes to New Year’s: hotpot dinner and seeing the first sunrise. Before Hayate’s death, he cooked dinner and made sure Haruka was awake to see the sunrise. Afterwards, she kept up the tradition as a sort of promise to him. She’s also made a habit of drawing the first sunrise.
