Funnily enough, it still makes sense that he doesn't know how to cross the street despite the fact, because:

He has never lived in the city before.

He's always with adults when they go to the city (unless he's flying with ki to get there).

Knowing how to cross the street is not a requirement in driving aircrafts or in fighting world-ending threats.

He can literally fly. What would he need street signs for?!

Which then got me asking, WHY does he need to drive an aircraft?!

I need it on record that when i suggest non-mutually-exclusive Lucy/Maximus and Lucy/Ghoul at the same time I'm not suggesting it like “haha I WISH” or “easy fix for a completely hypothetical love triangle” or “r*ylo 2016 fandom racism 2.0 but I want to feel ethical”. I genuinely, genuinely believe the actual show might give us both, based on FO4's appreciated accidental-incidental poly-friendliness and Lucy's characterization so far. I am dead serious. I don't think it's for sure but I certainly don't think it's impossible. None of that “Lucy/Maximus is the forced/safe/boring option” or “Lucy/Ghoul has potential but it's so niche the creators won't be brave enough” on this blog. I want both. I am barking and biting
